Ever had a strange and frightening experience in your bedroom? A sense of a dangerous, maybe even deadly, creature lurking in the corners of the bedroom, and that suddenly leaps onto the bend and holds you down? And there are very often sexual aspects to all of this. If this sounds familiar to yourself, don’t worry, you’re not alone. It’s important to note that such creatures are not limited to just one or two parts of the planet – or even to specific time-frames. Incubi and Succubi are everywhere – exactly as they were in the distant past. In Newfoundland, there is the Old Hag – a female monster that, just like legendary Lilith, straddles the unwary in the dead of night and steals semen from terrified men. South Africa has the monstrous Tokoloshe. Scandinavia is home to the Mare – which, rather notably, is from where the word “nightmare” comes. Popobawa creates fear and dread for the people of Zanzibar. The Karabasan is a Turkish version. The Boto haunts the cities and jungles of Brazil. And, the Lidérc plagues the people of Hungary. While the names are many and varied, the key component of a sexual encounter in the dead of night, in which the victim is unable to stop the experience, is worldwide.

There is very little doubt that the most terrifying beings that fall into this category are the Succubus and the Incubus. In his 2011 book, Strange Intruders, David Weatherly says that these creatures ““live in a spirit world and crave the energy and life essence of the living.”

They are dangerous, violent and manipulative things that very often present themselves in the form of a person’s definitive fantasy. There is, however, nothing appealing about these monsters of the night. In fact, they should be avoided at all costs. It’s either that or ultimately pay a terrible price. The problem is that it’s very difficult to escape their clutches when you are in bed, completely paralyzed, and held down by a malevolent thing from another plane of existence.

The bedroom: Potentially a dangerous location for us when we sleep

The term, “Incubus,” is a most appropriate one, as it is derived from ancient Latin term which means “to lie upon.” The word itself is “incubare.” In essence, the term is a most apt one, as the Incubus does exactly that: it lies upon its victim and sexually assaults them. The Incubus is the male version of this menacing beast, while the Succubus is the female. It’s a phenomenon that has been with us just about as long as civilization has existed.

As evidence of this, we’ll now take a trip back to the world and the people of Mesopotamia, which, thousands of years ago, was situated in the eastern part of the Mediterranean and covering Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. Is it possible that all of this, from the earliest years of civilization to the present day is due to nothing stranger than the complexities of the human mind? Doubtful. Admittedly, yes, technologically-speaking, we are very different to the people of yesteryear. On the other hand, though, and just like today, the people back then had families and friends, and they laughed and they cried. In that sense our minds are not so different.

Those who are skeptical of the idea that bedroom invaders of a supernatural nature really exist, suggest that all of the above – from the distant past to the present day – can be explained away by what is known popularly as sleep-paralysis. Its medical term is hypnagogia – it’s a period during the sleep state when, sometimes, a person semi-awakens. And, in that half-awake / half-asleep state, the brain can do some very strange things, including creating a sense of something threatening in the bedroom. It’s a condition which was coined back in the 1800s, by Louis Ferdinand Alfred Maury, who was a French doctor. Sleep paralysis does not – and cannot – explain away everything, though. There are, for example, cases in which the encounter leaves behind it residual odors, such as brimstone and sulfur – which are reported in numerous paranormal encounters, including the early 1950s-era experiences of Albert Bender, who quickly found himself on the wrong side of the Men in Black, when he started to dig into the UFO mystery. Not only that, Bender had a classic Old Hag type experience back in 1953. On occasion, a wife has seen her husband straddled by one of these crazed things – and vice-versa. As this shows, these encounters are most assuredly not totally internal to the victims: there is a dangerous, undeniable external aspect, too.

Since the 1980s, sightings of large, triangular-shaped UFOs, usually described as being black in color, making a low humming noise, and very often with rounded rather than angled corners, have been reported throughout the world. The sheer proliferation of such reports has led some ufological commentators to strongly suspect that the Flying Triangles (as they have come to be known) are prime examples of still-classified aircraft, the development of which was secretly begun in the 1980s by elements of the U.S. Department of Defense. Largely, UFO researchers are split into two camps: that the Flying Triangles are the creations of the American military or that have been flown by extraterrestrials. There is, however, another theory for all of this mystery. It’s a theory that pops up now and again; however. It is tied to the issue of nothing less than time-travel. I must stress that the theory was addressed in the early part of the 1990s, but faded away. The theory also kind of vanished into the woods – so to speak, and quite literally – of England’s Cannock Chase expansive woods.

The late Omar Fowler, a UFO expert who died in 2017, had a theory that the so-called Flying Triangles just might be nothing less than the aerial vehicles of time travelers. Fowler had a good reason for that. On one occasion, in September 1992, over a large area of woodland in central England called the Cannock Chase, Omar secured a piece of testimony from a man named Alan Ball. He agreed to meet Ball on the Chase one morning. Incredibly, Ball claimed that he was taken on-board a huge, black, Flying Triangle late one night – and while he was driving home – when he was “beamed into” the craft and subjected to a series of medical experiments by three small, humanoid figures in what “looked like a medical lab.”

Ten or fifteen minutes into the experimentation, Ball claimed that his mind was flooded by images of the U.K., in ruins. It was a definitive Armageddon: buildings, in all directions, were destroyed; charred human bodies lay everywhere; and it was clear that a nuclear event occurred. And the assumption was that the event was not alone. That the U.K. – and possible everywhere else – had been destroyed. After having the terrifying vision, Ball was dropped off the craft – literally, from a door about five feet above the woods. Ball was in a state of terror – and for several days. Particularly of interest is the fact that Fowler had in his files two extremely similar cases – and also at the Cannock Chase woods – of people taken onto Flying Triangles and exposed to images in their minds of a massive apocalypse. Fowler was still open on the idea that the Flying Triangles could be extraterrestrial in nature. However, he wasn’t able to shake off the disturbing possibility the craft were piloted by time travelers, and that what Ball and the two other people were seeing was a future still to come – and that all three victims had been taken to the future and then returned to in 1992. Should we consider those who pilot the Flying Triangles to be us, but from a faraway time?Maybe, so. To a degree, Omar Fowler did.

And, indeed, there is the intriguing fact that the Flying Triangles look like next-generation versions of our “Stealth” bombers and “Stealth” fighters. Moreover, the very fact that the FTs look like they came from our world – but from an Earth far ahead of us, time-wise – is yet another reason to think the Flying Triangles are flown by people just like us. Could they be historians? Looking to prevent us from destroying ourselves? The theories are many. The answers, though, are most definitely not.

Something Weird Is Happening on the Moon's Far Side

When we look at the Moon, we only see its one side. The other lunar hemisphere, known as the far side, or the dark side of the Moon, is always hidden from us. In 1969, the Apollo 10 astronauts heard something unusual on the far side of the Moon. Apollo 10 lost contact with the mission control and started receiving a mysterious radio signal.

This signal could not be from the Earth because Apollo was on the far side of the Moon, and no one on the planet could see or contact them. The astronauts heard the spooky sounds for about an hour until they emerged to the side of the Moon facing the Earth.

However, the astronauts did not report this to the mission control because they were scared and thought they would be grounded on mental health issues. For more than four decades, people believed that the mission went according to the plan. There was nothing weird about it. Then, finally, the incident came to light when the recorded transcripts were declassified. Now the question that everyone wanted an answer to was, What was there on the Moon’s far side?

Was someone really trying to contact the astronauts? What was the source of the unusual sounds? Before answering all these intriguing questions, let’s see what’s there on the far side of the Moon.

It is arguably the most talked-about UFO event in history, and undeniably the most famous involving a purported UFO crash: what happened at Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947?

It would be hard to say just how many researchers have weighed in on the case over the years, although a handful rose to prominence for their investigations of it. The time and effort put toward the case are easy to understand, since, at one time, it appeared to be what UFO researchers had long been waiting for.

The “smoking gun,” as it were.

Today, the famous Roswell incident of 1947 appears to have lost at least some of its luster, even for those who once championed it. One doesn’t have to even accept the official explanation offered by the United States Air Force in a pair of reports it published in the 1990s—that the incident stemmed from an incident involving the crash of a once top-secret Project Mogul balloon—to acknowledge another reality about Roswell: that championing this case alone won’t be enough end the culture of dismissals and denials about the topic that have prevailed in government for so many decades.

However, today with new efforts underway that could result in the establishment of an office of unidentified aerial phenomena investigations within government (its name, as outlined in a recently proposed amendment to the Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022, will likely be the “Anomaly Surveillance and Resolution Office”), some have begun to wonder if the final word on Roswell might not change again. This, especially if the government’s renewed efforts to resolve issues about the phenomenon revisit historical cases from decades ago and provide any further details about such cases to the public.

Roswell naturally comes to mind here, since it is the case that captured the mind of the public and, especially, those of UFO enthusiasts, following the earliest reinvestigations of the case beginning in the 1970s. Researchers William Moore and Charles Berlitz published the first book to look into the matter, drawing in part from investigations conducted by Stanton Friedman, who would go on to author books of his own on the topic, in addition to becoming a central media personality regarding the case. Researchers Kevin Randle and Don Schmitt would thereafter go in search of additional witnesses, further working to flesh out the sequence of events. It was admirable, and very time-consuming work, and eventually, it was hoped that enough witness testimony would pay off.

Yet for many years, skeptics have been willing to brush aside the witness testimony. This especially became true after the USAF released its reports in the 1990s, which seemed to leave no further doubts about what had actually crashed at Roswell. Yes, something certainly did crash at Roswell, and yes, the USAF was involved in a coverup. The reason, they said, did not have to do with alien bodies, however, and instead dealt with a highly sensitive project that, should information about it become available to the public, could have gravely impacted national security.

This official scenario does still explain at least some of the eyewitness testimony from those who claimed they had observed wreckage, and might even have received threats from members of the military who were busily trying to hide what had actually happened. On account of this fact, for a time I had personally been more willing to accept the determinations offered in the pair of reports published by the USAF in the 1990s. Maybe the incident really wasn’t all that it had been made out to be; if anything, maybe the widespread belief in the crash of an alien vehicle—not a spy balloon—actually would have aided the coverup, and thereby might have been encouraged at times by the USAF.

However, there are still a number of problems with the “official” USAF explanation(s) that must be acknowledged, too. The most obvious one is the fact that a coverup actually did occur, and because of this, the explanations for what happened at Roswell have continually changed over the years. First, it was announced that one of the mysterious “flying discs” had indeed been captured, only to be changed to a “weather balloon” the following day. The explanation changed again once the USAF acknowledged the Mogul scenario decades later. By this time, it was already evident that the government’s position had changed more than once, so what was to keep the newest explanation from being anything different? If they lied to cover up the truth, what would prevent them from doing it again, if Roswell actually did represent something more than a top-secret Cold War-era surveillance balloon?

Perhaps the most troubling issue with the Roswell story has to do with the witnesses. Although attempts have been made over the years to reconcile the stories about alien wreckage, and even alien bodies purportedly found at the site of the alleged crash, it becomes hard to understand how all of the testimony from these individuals could be entirely wrong. This had especially been the case with mortician Glenn Dennis, who provided lengthy testimony about receiving a call inquiring about small caskets that could be “hermetically sealed,” and thereafter meeting a nurse at the nearby Roswell Army Air Field hospital who had been badly shocked after seeing alien bodies. This, after having had his own run-in with officials at the base, who had threatened that his bones would be picked clean if he talked about what he saw there that day, and that he would make good “dog food.”

Dennis was only one of the individuals who claimed to have seen alien bodies, of course, or at least have knowledge of them. Some accounts even tell that Chaves County Sherriff George Wilcox had learned about the crash prior to rancher Mac Brazel, who discovered the wreckage on his ranch, appearing in town and discussing it. Wilcox’s wife, Inez, later told her granddaughter Barbara Dugger that Wilcox and his deputies had been aware of the crash site location, and that bodies had been found, although she was unsure if Wilcox himself had seen the bodies.

Much like the changing stories about what, precisely, occurred at Roswell in the first place, attempting to reconcile the claims about “alien bodies” has resulted in a variety of different explanations provided by the USAF. Among these include observations of crash test dummies, an injured parachutist whose appearance might have included swelling that resembled the large eyes of purported alien occupants, and even the charred remains of the crew aboard a crashed aircraft (involving an incident which didn’t occur until the following decade). According to the USAF reports published in the 1990s, these separate events were “consolidated” by the witnesses over the years, and misremembered as all having been centered on the incident at Roswell in the summer of 1947.

Of course, each of these various narratives may individually be true. However, the notion that a combination of separate incidents like this could really have been so confusingly misremembered as being part of a single incident–and one involving something so specific as the discovery of exotic aircraft wreckage, and the remains of its occupants–seems dubious. While many accept the USAF explanations at face value (as even I at one time had been more willing to do), it would be fair to say that there are still more than a few problems with the various scenarios that they have attempted to jumble together as a solution for what many witnesses all claimed had been a single event in 1947.

In conclusion, while there is always the possibility that it was not what many popular books, films, and television shows have made it out to be, there does seem to be something deeper to the Roswell mystery that remains wanting of a complete, and more logically consistent resolution than what the public has already been given. Such questions have caused me to step back on several occasions, and attempt to reevaluate and make sense of both the “official” claims, as well as those who maintain the popular version of the story: that the Roswell incident involved a crashed UFO.

It does not, therefore, seem unreasonable to question whether any of the numerous explanations actually solve the mystery of what happened in the New Mexico desert back in 1947. If anything, the official narratives provided by the USAF may really only add mud to the already murky water surrounding one of the most perplexing American mysteries to have occurred since the end of the Second World War.

Guys, I was looking at a news story about graves found in an old Indian school in Nebraska when I noticed something odd. Greta Thunberg was sitting in one of the students desk. She has been found before in other photos from 1890 in the Yukon territory doing gold mining, but this photo is from Nebraska in 1910. It would figure that she might time travel to such a place as this. So many terrible abuses took place against the Indian children at the school, so many children disappearing never to be seen again...and so many graves found. If this is her, she must have known what was going to happen and she tried to prevent it as much as possible. Greta has talked to the UN yelling at them like they were little children, she has talked to presidents, leading protests worldwide and even was on the cover of TIME as person of the year. It seems to me that she really does see the future and what she says will happen...is not a possibility, but a guarantee to happen. 

 

 

Why would Greta do this? In here own words, "Since our leaders are behaving like children, we will have to take the responsibility they should have taken long ago." So...Greta is here for the world...again and again through time.

Maybe, it has afflicted you on more than one occasion. Perhaps, now and again. Possibly, it’s something that has never bothered you. Or, you get it regularly. What is it? Well, I’ll tell you: it’s the issue of how certain Ufologists, researchers and witnesses to UFO phenomena find themselves on the receiving end of weird phone-calls. To some degree this ties in with the threatening Men in Black. On other occasions, the whole thing is just bizarre. With that said, I’ll share with you a few examples. On November 9, 2014, the Marshall family of Perth, Australia had a strange encounter after seeing a huge, black, triangular shaped UFO flying completely silently, and at a dangerously low level, as they headed home after a night out on June 3, 1999. Although they did not tell anyone about their experience (at least, not at the time, anyway), late on the following night the phone rang. It was a man with a strange and somewhat European accent who warned them not to talk about the craft they had seen [italics mine]. In this case, the family forgot about the experience until years later when they saw a TV documentary on the Men in Black enigma – which referenced the issue of the MIB making threatening phone calls to UFO witnesses. Today, the family is solidly convinced that what they experienced was full-blown intimidation from a menacing MIB. I had to agree, when I read the facts.

Point Pleasant, West Virginia is – beyond any shadow of doubt – noted most of all for its wave of sightings of the infamous Mothman, between 1966 and 1967. In 2014, however, the town played host to something even stranger. The witness to the weird affair was a local woman named Denise, who emailed me the details on May 23. As Denise explained, she was jolted from her sleep by the sight of a young boy looming over her bed. This was no normal boy, however: it was one of the dreaded Black-Eyed Children – pale-skinned, black-hoodie-wearing kids who are noted for their completely black eyes. Denise tried to scream out, but her vocal-chords were paralyzed, as was her entire body. The eerie boy stared at terrified Denise for a few moments, then retreated into the shadows of the room and vanished. It was a nerve-jangling experience that Denise has not forgotten. Nor has she forgotten a strange wave of hang-up phone calls that occurred across the next three nights, and all around 3:00 a.m. A connection? Denise believed so. As did I [Italics mine].

August 2015 was a time when, for me, telephone problems were absolutely rife. As an example, Whitley Strieber invited me on his Unknown Country show to talk about my MIB book and we experienced endless amounts of very strange interference and odd sounds on the line. The exact same thing happened, at a later date, with Coast to Coast AM – something which took on even stranger proportions when my landline phone suddenly quit. So, I proceeded to use my cell-phone as a back-up. The battery drained astonishingly quickly, despite being fully charged. And, so, I had to hastily dig out of a cupboard an old, spare, cordless landline phone, which finally allowed us to complete the show. You’ll see from the cases above, all of them were relatively close to each other: from 2014 to 2015. There was more, too. A lot more. The strangest, one, however, took place back in 2003. I had returned from a trip to Taos, New Mexico, where I met with a now-deceased UFO researcher/whistleblower, Dan Salter – a man who claimed insider knowledge of the Marilyn Monroe-UFO controversy. I interviewed the guy and then we wrapped up. So, after getting home, I crashed in the sack. For a while…

It was around 2:00 a.m. and the phone rang. None of us like those situations. And all for the same reason: that, maybe, the voice on the other end will be calling with bad news. In a half-asleep state I ran into the darkness-filled living-room and, without thinking of reaching for the light, fumbled around to grab the phone. As I picked it up, I heard what sounded like screeching static, such was the ear-blasting level of the volume. In a few seconds, though, I was able to figure it out. It was a recording of Marilyn’s never-to-be-forgotten rendition of “Happy Birthday” for JFK at the third Madison Square Garden in New York on May 19, 1962, even though JFK’s actual birth-date of May 29. And the recording was playing over and over on a loop. No call-number was available. A warning? Of what? Having someone play “Happy Birthday” down the line to me – in the dead of night – is certainly one of the nuttiest things that has ever happened to me, but it was hardly something guaranteed to keep me wide awake for the rest of the night. I guessed the message had to be for me, but it was so obscure there was little I could do except make a few notes and save them for posterity. Then, I headed back to bed and slept fine.

For the record, near-identical situations have happened to me on a handful of occasions. Again, it was in the middle of the night. I was woken up, and there was a voice on the phone. This time, it was the sound of one of those battery-powered laughing bags. That’s what can happen when you get into Ufology: you’re exposed to loonies, M.I.B. and spies (and which are, sometimes, one and the very same) with too much time on their hands.

The 5 Most Terrifying Initiation Rites in History

Being a full-fledged member of any society was an important thing in many of the world’s oldest cultures. To be a part of the community, of the tribe, or the family, is one of the strongest human needs. Because those that are left ostracized and unaccepted, will suffer hardships and possibly death. But in remote corners of the world, not everyone was deemed fit to become a part of the society. That’s why complex and often brutal initiation rites were invented. These were tests of prowess, manhood, or womanhood. Those who passed these difficult initiation rites were accepted as full-fledged members of the family. But these tests were simple or peaceful. Often enough, they were straight out horrifying.

Initiation Rite #1: Surviving Stinging Ants in the Amazon

The Sateré-Mawé people are one of the oldest native tribes of Brazil . They live deep in the Amazon, and nowadays number a little over 10,000 people. Like many of the tribesmen living in the Amazon jungle, they have complex and intriguing initiation rites. And theirs is by far the most brutal one.

The Sateré-Mawé devised a complex test of manhood. Those who pass this initiation rite would become full-fledged warriors, with a fearsome reputation to boot. The rite involves surviving ant stings! The elders of the tribe catch a whole bunch of Bullet Ants ( Paraponera Clavata ), which are known for their extremely painful bite, equal to a bullet shot (hence their name).

The elders proceed to render the ants unconscious. They do so by placing them into a natural sedative they create. This allows them to handle the insects easily. Following this, each ant is woven into a pair of specially crafted gloves. Made out of palm leaves , the gloves resemble large oven mitts. Hundreds of ants are densely packed into these gloves, their stings pointed towards the inside. And then, the young boys of the tribe enter the initiation rite by wearing these gloves for more than five minutes. The ants sting his hands repeatedly, and the boy is exposed to extreme agony. It is said that such pain is unlike anything a man can experience.

When the ordeal is done, the boy is in terrible agony. The ant venom courses through his body, numbing it and causing hallucinations because of the intense pain. His hands become paralyzed and violent tremors shake his body continuously, sometimes for days. But that’s just the first part of the initiation rite. To become a warrior, the boy must complete the same process twenty times over the course of several months.

Initiation Rite #2: Africa’s Maasai Lion Hunt

The Maasai are one of Africa’s best known ancient tribes. Dwelling near the African Great Lakes , these people pride themselves on their unique dress, traditions, and a very old way of life. And one of the most important parts of their culture is a complex tradition, historical practice, and an initiation rite: the lion hunt.

A very demanding rite of passage, the lion hunt was meant to initiate skilled boys into the rank of brave warriors. But the challenge was immense. Those who undertook it would show great bravery, and this would be a sign of personal achievement. In ancient times, before contact with the outside world, populations of both lions and the Maasai were very high. That’s why the elders encouraged young men to go on solo lion hunts . Without anyone’s help, a warrior would expose himself to incredible danger, facing a male lion with little more than a spear. Only the bravest “future” warriors would succeed in this task.

To make things more challenging, the rule stated that the warrior could not hunt lions that were sick, poisoned, snared, or otherwise incapacitated. What is more, the rules prohibited the hunting of lionesses. The Maasai considered them the bearers of life in every species. So, only the most dangerous male lions were hunted.

However, over the years, the lion populations shrunk considerably, and hunting them became difficult. Thus, the Maasai developed olamayio, the group hunt that ensured more success. But even so, the practice remains one of the most terrifying initiation rites in history.

Initiation Rite #3: The Deadly Vanuatu Land Diving Ritual

The country of Vanuatu is an archipelago comprising 83 islands of various sizes. On one of these, Pentecost Island, the tribesmen perform a death-defying initiation rite that is listed amongst the world’s deadliest tribal practices. The rite can very easily end in death.

It is best described as the earliest form of and a precursor to bungee jumping. As an initiation rite, it is a sure way for a young man to prove his masculinity and to be initiated into the rank of the bravest warriors. As a ceremony, it is considered as a way to enhance the health and the abilities of all who jump. The ceremony is also believed to cure illnesses and physical ailments that come with the annual wet season.

The rite begins with the construction of a tall tower . It is made over the course of five weeks and can be up to 20 to 30 meters (66 to 98 feet) high when finished. Essentially, it is a series of scaffolding platforms, and the jumpers can choose a height that is suited to their age. Once they commit, they tie special vines around their ankles, which are designed to prevent them from hitting the ground and dying. As an added precaution, the ground at the bottom of the platform is tilled to soften the impact.

The men who jump are defying death. Their goal is to brush their shoulders against the ground, after plummeting down to the ground from an extreme height. The ramshackle tower creaks and bends, and the barely elastic vines tug violently on the man’s legs. In the end, their bodies stop just barely off the ground, and they are able to walk away safely. But one simple mistake, and all can end in death and disaster.

This initiation rite can be undertaken by both boys and grown men. When boys receive their ritual circumcision around age seven, they become eligible to make the jump. By completing this incredible challenge, they prove their masculinity to all the members of their tribe.

Initiation Rite #4: The Excruciating Trials of the Matsë Tribe

The Matsë Indians, also known as Matis, are one of Brazil’s most remote Amazonian tribes. Living deep in the isolated jungle areas of Western Brazil, the Matis were only discovered in the 1970s. Up to that point, the tribesmen believed that the passenger planes flying high above the tree canopies were the spirits of their ancestors. And the smaller two-man planes that flew lower were considered to be harmful demon spirits. Outside contact nearly wiped the tribe out, as smallpox was something their immune systems couldn’t endure. Luckily, the tribe managed to survive, although in small numbers. Their straight-out terrifying initiation rites take place in four separate stages.

Before reaching manhood, a boy of the Matis tribe needs to prove himself worthy of hunting alongside other men. To do so, he needs to pass their initiation rites, a complex four-stage trial that places him in great danger and great pain.

The first part of the trial consists of temporary self-blinding. The boy puts a concoction of bitter and dangerous poison straight into his eyes. The elders believe that once the sight returns (if at all) it is enhanced and will make the boy a better hunter, enhancing the senses and improving vision.

Next, the boy endures a series of brutal whippings and beatings by the other men. These are done with the stems of the rattan plant . The whipping is supposed to help remove laziness.

The next step of the four-stage trial is even more extreme. The young man is injected with the poison of Phyllomedusa Bicolor (Giant Monkey Frog) , a small poisonous frog native to the jungles of Brazil. The poison is placed directly into the bloodstream, and its effects are brutal. If the boy proves his courage and does not vomit at once, he is injected again. What follows is light-headedness, violent vomiting, and uncontrolled bowel movements. In the end, it is believed that the frog poison will greatly increase the man’s strength and endurance.

Finally, in the fourth stage, the initiate is body rubbed with the leaves of a poisonous plant. This causes a heavy painful rash that lasts for hours and is believed to help the man with patience.

Only after completing these demanding initiation rites are the men deemed worthy of accompanying others in the hunt. The only catch is that these trials are repeated many times before every important hunting trip.

Initiation Rite #5: The Mandan Okipa Spirit Ceremony

The Mandan tribe of the Great Plains region of America is one of the best known and best documented tribes of the continent. They lived in the area of what is now North Dakota and were one of the great trading tribes and excelled in corn production. They also had a complex set of traditions and beliefs, all of which were well documented by European explorers in the late 1700s and early 1800s. One of these was the Okipa or Sun Dance ceremony. It was a religious ceremony that was of the highest priority for the tribe, but it was also an initiation rite, offering a chance for young warriors to become respected and admired members of the tribe.

There were at least three purposes to the Okipa: the annual commemoration of the tribe’s salvation from the primordial flood (according to their myths), to communicate with ancient spirits and summon buffalos, and to give the chance for individuals (usually men) to complete vows given to the almighty spirit to prove their bravery and dedication. But not everyone could endure this brutal ceremony. Only the bravest of warriors could get through this violent rite of passage.

Before the ordeal, chosen warriors would not eat, drink, or sleep for four days. Afterwards, they were led to the great hut where the ordeal began. They were required to sit smiling, while elders pierced their shoulders and chest, thrusting skewers behind the muscles. Next, ropes were tied to the skewers, and the warriors suspended in mid-air, hanging there until they fainted.

Elders would add more weight to their legs, in order to increase agony and tension on their muscles. Next, they were removed from the skewers, and upon awakening the approval of the great spirits was confirmed. In gratitude, the warriors would offer their left little finger, which was cut off as a sacrifice with a hatchet.

In the last step of the ordeal, the men would race around the village, dragging their weights behind them, until they ripped out of the skin alongside the skewers. This marked the end of a grueling ordeal. Men who completed the rite twice in their life would gain everlasting fame in their tribe.

In primitive societies, young braves and would-be warriors were ready to complete anything just so they could become a proven member of the community. It was the adventure of a lifetime, the annual event that everyone spoke of in hushed voices. There’s no doubt that these initiation rites required great courage and endurance, and that they left the initiates tougher and bolder for the rest of their lives. But they were also foolish and dangerous, and put the young people at great risk. Sometimes, these rites of initiation would end in death. But for the people who practiced these rites, death was the will of the great spirits.

How do you know if a shapeshifting Reptilian has been in your house while you were out? Footprints might be a good hint … especially if they’re 10 inches (25 cm) long and have odd abnormal toes. The fact that the footprints seem to appear and disappear would be another clue … especially if the doors were locked, the windows barred, and no one was inside the residence. Welcome to the twilight zone of Adrián Escalante, a resident of Caracas, Venezuela, who seems to have had a close encounter with a Reptilian.

Hector Escalante, a well-known South American UFO researcher and journalist, revealed the account told to him by Adrián Escalante on Instagram. The incident took place on November 6, 2021, in a house in the center of Caracas. Adrián Escalante told him the prints (images here) were found on the second floor – an unusual place that would have led one to look for prints on the stairs, at the door, near a window and outside. Hector Escalante is a thorough investigator and checked all of those places … and found no other prints. The only two prints in the house were the 10-inch ones made of dark mud that had already dried by the time he saw them. Did this creature arrive while it was raining?

“It hadn’t rained, therefore, it was impossible for someone to have stepped on the swamp on the street and left those marks.”

Venezuela has had its share of Chupacabra sightings, but Hector Escalante doesn’t seem to think that’s what made these prints. The country has a bigfoot-like creature called the Mono Grande but these don’t look like humanoid or primate prints. The closest cryptid might be the giant caiman, which is said to resemble a regular 16-foot caiman but grows up to three times as large and is capable of crushing boats and swallowing humans whole. A beast of that size would have left a path of destruction in a house, so that gets ruled out too.

Hector Escalante throws “interdimensional entities of a reptilian nature” into the realm of possibilities … because there’s nothing else to blame other than a hoax. Reptilians: What if intelligent dinosaurs evacuated Earth millions of years ago?

Research evidence during this and last century leads some researchers to believe that a race from the age of dinosaurs was never completely extinct: “Some reptilians survived.”

The highly adaptable and cunning raptors could have survived millions of years ago to the impact of the Yucatan asteroid and subsequent massive climate change.

They would be the predecessors, of which some scientists agree, they have become an evolved and intelligent great race, the reptilians.

Those dinosaurs may have finally created advanced technologies and super-science that led to incredible knowledge, including interstellar spacecraft.

Over time they could have explored and colonized other planets creating a network of societies outside of Earth.

Some investigators of ‘alien contactee’ cases argue that many of today’s ET encounters are not aliens from another world, but lords originating from Earth.

A goal that drives a mysterious, perhaps terrifying agenda that only the dinosaur (reptilian) lords know about?

For many years scientists predicted the disappearance of the dinosaur race as a mass extinction in the footsteps of the catastrophic collision of a gigantic asteroid with Earth in the Chicxtulub Yucatan region.

They described a darkened world, an atmosphere choked by dust and swirling carbon storms from tens of thousands of blazing wildfires.

Its scenario matches the “nuclear winter” hypothesis of popular astronomer Carl Sagan.

Years ago, scientists believed that most plants died upon impact resulting in starvation of herbivores and when plant eaters died, so did the carnivores that fed on them.

Even the mighty T. Rex finally succumbed. But that was then, and this is now. And now a different picture has emerged.

New evidence points to the strong possibility that all the dinosaurs did not die within a few years after the asteroid hit. Some survived for many hundreds of thousands of years.

New data has also revealed that the Chicxtulub impact actually occurred 300,000 years ago before the originally accepted timeline, so it could not explain the mass extinction of the dinosaur race that followed.

The Yucatan asteroid did not kill the dinosaurs, study says. Another disturbing fact has worried some paleontologists for many years:

How could the most successful species on Earth that endured many climate changes in a span of almost 230 million years succumb so quickly to climate change?

The answer, other scientists say, is that dinosaurs did not succumb quickly. It took up to 700,000 years for these to disappear.

Over the past decade, mountains of evidence point to an entirely new picture of dinosaurs, their physiology, how they lived, and how they died.

Scientists have done a great rethinking of the dinosaur extinction hypothesis. These reptiles were also much more agile than scientists believed for a long time.

Some developed rudimentary hands that could eventually enable them to model and use tools. Some had brains evolving into true intelligence, such as velociraptors.

Surprisingly, all the necessary elements that allowed some races of dinosaurs to develop intelligently, at least the size of early man, have been confirmed.

And once the dinosaurs had reached that level on the evolutionary ladder, they had a better chance of survival. But is there any real evidence for the appearance of intelligent dinosaurs? Yes, there is.

Having a conscious brain that can think of solutions and extrapolate is an important step towards intelligence, but to be fully effective, the brain needs to link up with accessories that can significantly modify the environment.

Such an accessory must be very adaptable and capable of handling small things with a high degree of dexterity. Although dolphins are intelligent, they lack manipulative accessories, but humans have accessories that fit the criteria:

Hands; and these also grew on some of the dinosaurs. Such accessories, concurrent with the evolution of intelligence, allow the manipulation of habitats, the creation of rudimentary tools and weapons, and a better ability to dominate the environment.

‘Evolutionary bioparanoia’  an article by John C. McLoughlin published in Animal Kingdom magazine, postulates the development of intelligent dinosaurs.

Other researchers followed up with the concept. The only restriction the researchers saw on the possibility of intelligent dinosaurs was that extinction came to them too quickly.

They lacked time to think about it and survive.

Author Thomas P. Hopp writes on his blog that  “among paleontologists of our time, the notion of intelligent dinosaurs comes up more frequently than you might suppose. Although researchers in this field today would not risk their reputations by proposing a human intellect among the creatures of 65 million years ago, there have been many scientific discussions of the brain capacity that existed within the skulls of Cretaceous creatures large and small. »

Yet another blogger speculates on a recent theory that intelligent dinosaurs rule other planets.

Your extrapolations may be closer to the truth than you think since the evidence that is emerging that the most intelligent reptiles were not destroyed by a global conflagration, but had almost three-quarters of a million more years to become intelligent, similar to the current human.

The concept, as you can imagine, is very controversial. Some paleontologists support or are intrigued by it; other scientists harshly criticize the idea as groundless or the utmost of homocentric arrogance.

Writes on the subject Dr. Dale Russell, the “discoverer of the Stenonychosaurus (now called Troodon) at the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Ottawa, Canada.”

Again, in light of new discoveries about the dinosaur extinction timeline, the question must be posed,

Did velociraptors, Troodons or dinosaurs learn how to survive those hundreds of thousands of additional years and achieve a high level of intelligence? The odds seem to be getting better and better.

UFO researchers generally agree that alien visitors appear to come in many shapes and sizes.

Some researchers claim that there are 81 different races of ETs that visit Earth in ships of unimaginable size and configurations.

Most researchers familiar with ET contact and abduction cases agree that most humanoid beings fall into several important categories, including known Grays, Nordics (tall, blond, well-developed, indistinguishable from men and women and sometimes seen with grays), Drones (insectoid creatures that sometimes accompany grays) and Reptilians.

Writer Claire L. Evans on the science blog Badim Universe Everything reflects on the Reptilian Agenda. While much of it is ironic, she accurately defines conspiracy hypotheses that basically revolve around reptilian humanoids.

They are “highly developed, supernatural, intelligent reptilian-human hybrids, or Reptiloids, who are capable of shapeshifting and supposedly controlling all major secret societies, the royal lineage, and governments on Earth.”

Aside from David Icke, Evans also targets researcher John Rhodes. The theory that Rhodes proposes is the only one with new evidence that is beginning to be supported:

Some of the so-called aliens are actually evolved dinosaurs that survived and are now much more advanced than humans.

They could be since the race of intelligent dinosaurs have a multi-million years of evolution more than the human race.

Rhodes was “the first” to seriously investigate and publicly present the claims of the humanoid reptile observations by founding the Reptoids.com Research Center in the late 1990s. Evans reveals:

“Rhodes maintains that these cryptozoological mysteries are not extraterrestrial in nature, nor do they have anything to do with the governments of the world. That kind of gossip is just an instinctive collective fear of the current global political climate. His lizardmen, rather, are evolved dinosaurs. “

If intelligent dinosaurs exist, what are their motives? What is your schedule? Is it benign or sinister?

I have traveled to Puerto Rico on many occasions. Usually (but not always) to go on expeditions with TV companies to try and find what is popularly known as the chupacabra. As an aside, I’ll be doing another such expedition very soon. But, I’m digressing. I’ll come back to that new expedition in a forthcoming article. Today, I’m going to share with you what was the creepiest story given to me. It was 2004 and high in the hills of the El Yunque rain-forest. There comes a time in the life of every investigator of the paranormal when a case just gels. From the credibility of the witness to the importance of the story, everything combines together and in the best fashion possible. I have experienced such a deep sense of satisfaction and connection on a number of occasions. But, there is, perhaps, no greater example than the amazing affair of a woman named Norka, who had a chupacabra encounter back in 1975. Yes, this case was long before the beast was believed to have been roaming around the island. Norka was a fascinating lady, who lived in a spacious and atmospheric house high in the El Yunque rain forest. Norka’s story was one that took our quest for the truth about the chupacabra to a whole new – and largely unanticipated – level.

After me and Jon Downes (my good mate and fellow Chupacabra-seeker) devoured our breakfasts fit for a king – in the open courtyard of the Wind Chimes Inn in San Juan – our convoy of jeep, cars, and trucks once again hit the road. There were people to interview, creatures to be sought, and absolutely no time to waste. Around ninety minutes after we left bustling San Juan behind us, we arrived at Norka’s lavish home. It was dominated by a pair of huge, wrought-iron gates and a driveway that was so steep it actually required me to put the jeep in the lowest possible gear to successfully climb it. I quipped to Jon that the fortified home had probably been built to keep the chupacabra out. Who knows? After digesting what Norka said, I seriously had to wonder if my joke just may have been on target, after all. Norka, seventy-something and sporting a beaming smile, invited us in as if we were old friends. It almost felt like we were. Norka was an incredibly generous host, despite unfortunately being in failing health. She provided us with liquid refreshment and snacks, gave us a tour of her home – which was, essentially, built solidly into the hill on which it stood – and regaled us with entertaining stories of her youth, during which she was a prize-winning, passionate motorcyclist. Both Jon and I instantly bonded with Norka, who was a fellow adventurer and lover of life – and a highly skilled artist, too.

Roughly an hour after arriving, the crew had set up all of their equipment, the cameras were ready to roll, and me, Jon, and Norka assumed our required positions on the balcony of Norka’s home. It provided an incredible, panoramic view of El Yunque. Indeed, the angle of the miles-wide view, coupled with the sheer altitude of Norka’s home, provoked a slight sense of vertigo. But that was no matter. Jon and I suspected that Norka had something special to say and we wanted to hear it. We weren’t entirely sure how special, but we quickly found out. Norka’s words demonstrated that the chupacabra enigma was much older than many researchers had assumed or concluded. Norka’s account, we were fascinated to learn, dated from 1975, at the height of the summer months.

It was dusk, on a stiflingly hot, weekday night in August. The atmosphere – as day began to surrender to nightfall – was as normal and tranquil as it had ever been. It wasn’t long, however, before normality and tranquility gave way to something hideous. As Norka drove carefully and slowly along the twisting, climbing road (in a car, rather than on one of her trusty motorbikes, I should stress), something suddenly surfaced from the huge, dense trees that stood proud and tall, like gigantic green curtains, and which dominated each side of the road. Doing barely twenty miles an hour to begin with, Norka was easily able to slow down as a curious beast loomed into view. Norka, looking into the camera, said that only about twenty feet in front of her was the strangest, most terrifying animal it had ever been her misfortune to encounter. For all intents and purposes, it looked very much like a bat. Except, that is, for one astonishing thing: the abomination was around four to five feet in height.

Not surprisingly, Norka could scarcely believe her eyes as the monster shuffled slowly across the road, its muscular legs taking slow but deliberate strides across the hot tarmac. With her eyes transfixed on the beast, Norka could see that its body was dark brown in color. Two large wings were folded tight against its back. The clawed fingers on its hands – that drooped in curious, limp fashion from its bony wrists – were of a distinct, white-yellow hue. Of a near-identical color were two enormous fangs that protruded from its gaping, almost slack-jawed, mouth. Most frightening of all to Norka were the eyes of the creature: focused intently on Norka herself, they were almost blazing, like red hot coals.

After what seemed like a torturous amount of time, but which was maybe no more than twenty or so seconds, the creature unfurled its wings. At this point, Norka could see just how big those mighty, membranous appendages were: somewhere in a combined region of twelve to fifteen feet. Norka said the wings flapped in a fast, furious and loud fashion that deeply shocked her. In mere moments, the beast took to the skies, vertically, and was quickly lost from sight. It was, I said to Jon later, almost a case of the Jeepers Creepers movies come to life. He didn’t disagree in the slightest. Since this was the only interview planned for that day, there was no need for us to make a hasty drive to destinations new, and so we hung out for another hour or so, chatting further with Norka, even though the cameras had stopped rolling. Jon and I were suitably impressed. Our quest for the truth of the chupacabra had taken a major step forward – and, in terms of the date of Norka’s encounter, a major step backwards! And there was one more thing: Norka had so enjoyed the afternoon that she surprised me by presenting me with nothing less than a full-color painting she had done of the creature she encountered back in 1975. I thanked Norka for her incredible generosity. Atmospheric and captivating, her artwork has pride of place on the one wall of my office that is not dominated by mountains of bookshelves.

The police do incredible work, and they are usually the first ones on the scene when something goes wrong. Every so often though they will encounter something that even they can't explain. 

One of the places where officers are seeing strange things is that of the Navajo Reservation of the American southwest. This location is known for mysterious and legendary stories and the police here have encountered some strange things. 

One of the issues though is when police report these types of encounters, they can be mocked and locked down on. The police at Navajo Reservation however have a different view on things. They take these sightings and encounters seriously and will try to look into and understand each report.

Long time Live Webcam viewer Eoin O’Faodhagain recorded another strange occurrence in Scotland’s Loch Ness. On October 19^th, he noticed a black object that emerged high out of the water on the northern side of the loch and began moving through the water. Based on the video and the distance that the webcam is from the loch, the object would have been at least a couple of feet out of the water. While it was moving down the water, it got closer to the surface and eventually went under as soon as a cruiser began getting closer.

Once the cruiser came into view on the webcam, the unexplained dark object was completely under the water. However, there was still a straight line wake on the surface which indicated that it was still very close to the surface and possibly even touching it. But when the cruiser reached the exact spot where the object was last viewed, it was totally gone so it must have been submerged a good distance down from the surface.

O’Faodhagain posted his recordings on YouTube where the first part of the video can be viewed here and part two can be seen here.

This is O’Faodhagain’s fifth sighting of the year. His first occurred on January 19^th when he witnessed a mysterious shape in the water for about 20 minutes. Three days later, he saw two unexplained objects splashing around in the water. He noticed a black shape moving up and down in the water, followed by two mysterious objects on March 12^th. And on August 22^nd, he again saw two shapes moving across the surface. There were five other webcam sightings reported by other viewers this year for a total of ten so far.

As for visitors who actually witnessed the elusive creature in person at the loch, there have been six reports so far this year that included a sonar image on August 26^th. The image, which was captured on board the “Nessie Hunter” of Loch Ness Cruises, showed a mysterious shape that was estimated to have been 3 to 4 meters in length (9.8 to 13.1 feet). There was another interesting and very questionable sighting that included a drone camera but it hasn’t been accepted or listed on the register’s page. A camper named Richard Mavor was part of the great glen canoe challenge for Alzheimer’s Society when he decided to send his drone in the air to capture some footage of the loch for his YouTube channel and that’s when he allegedly filmed the Loch Ness Monster.

However, not everyone is convinced that the footage is real and some have even called it out, saying that it was a toy used in a hoax. Maybe that’s why it hasn’t been accepted to The Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register page.

A “door seems to open” in Antarctica and fuels all kinds of theories

Theories about the ‘Hollow Earth’ are intensifying after news that a huge entrance to Earth in Antarctica has appeared on maps.

It seems that fans of conspiracy theories have been given a new topic to discuss. Onlookers have already suggested that the structure could be an entrance to the “hollow earth” or a “military cover-up.”

The huge mystery hole located on a remote island in Antarctica has been spotted again on Google Maps, sparking much debate on social media.

The discovery, whose authenticity cannot be verified, was made by the authors of the YouTube channel ThirdPhaseFromTheMoon, who published a video showing what looks like a giant cave.

Two elements continue to intrigue the channel’s hosts: the origins of this strange entrance and its impressive size.

Using Google Maps, Blake and Brett Cousins ​​showed that the cryptic hole first appeared in 2007 only to disappear several months later.

Another detail that astonished the hosts is that such a giant structure, which is 83 meters high and 75 meters wide, did not exist in 2006.

According to the hosts, this cave could house “hundreds, if not thousands, of people”.

Speaking about the origins of this enigmatic hole, Brett Cousins ​​said that it could be the result of a natural event.

His co-host pointed out an unusual structure leading up to the entrance that looked like a staircase or some kind of access.
