Unlocking the Sky’s Secrets: Ex-FBI Agent’s Quest to Unravel a Legendary UFO Encounter! 

In the early 1970s, a story emerged that left a lasting imprint on the annals of UFO encounters. A former National Guard pilot, Rick Jezzi, and his crew, while on a routine flight, were suddenly faced with an inexplicable flying object. This encounter remains, to this day, a fascinating, yet chilling, testament to the potential existence of the unexplained phenomena we commonly refer to as UFOs.

The pilot, startled by this unprecedented occurrence, immediately went into autorotation, a common emergency maneuver in helicopters. Another element that fuels speculation is the subsequent behavior of the magnetic compass on the helicopter. Although it was later replaced, this incident of the malfunctioning compass adds another layer of mystery to the already inexplicable event.

A peculiar question arises here: why was there no follow-up? Why would the military and FAA not be interested in investigating an unidentified flying object that had a close encounter with a military aircraft? The silence and apparent lack of concern from these entities lead to speculations about possible cover-ups and concealment of information about UFOs.

Fast-forward to the present day, former FBI agent Ben Hansen, with the objective to unveil the truth behind such encounters, sets up an experiment to reenact the events of that day. Using modern equipment and a helicopter pilot who specializes in high altitude maneuvers, they tried to recreate the rapid ascent that took place in 1973.

The experiment aimed to test a popular theory among ufologists – that extraterrestrial spacecraft might use magnetic forces to propel themselves. Could such a force have caused the helicopter’s sudden and rapid ascent? The results, however, were clear. A helicopter, under normal circumstances, cannot climb 1,800 feet in ten seconds. This reinforces the hypothesis that an external force – potentially from the unidentified object – may have been involved in the rapid ascent.

Mario Wood is retired from USAF Security Forces and has defended Nuclear Weapons and other critical Department of Energy programs for over 14 years. 

Mario and his partner while they were deployed at the 44th Missile Security Squadron in 1977 were sent to investigate an alarm at a nuclear missile silo to find a UFO hovering above the missile site, and the story he told to the Pentagon's investigators of the UFO Program AARO is compelling. 

Significantly, the UFO activity occasionally transcends mere surveillance and involves direct and unambiguous interference with our strategic weapons systems including numerous cases of mysterious malfunctions of large numbers of nuclear missiles just as one or more UFOs hovered nearby. 

One of the most famous cover-up cases was the UFO that shutdown nuclear missiles at Montana's Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967. Former Air Force captain Robert Salas has claimed Pentagon officials lied about not having information about a mysterious UFO incident that deactivated US nuclear missiles in 1967. 

The statement of eyewitness Mario Wood in front of the Pentagon's investigators of the UFO Program AARO confirms again that there does seem to be some sort of congruency or some sort of intersection between these UAP or UFO sightings and our nuclear technology, whether it’s nuclear propulsion, nuclear power and generation, or nuclear weapons systems.

Mystery Of Apollo 11 Alleged UFO Encounter On Moon In 1969: NASA Joined UFO Investigation, Why?

NASA  joined the UFO investigation in 2022, the year which is said to be the “Year of UFOs,” as the UFO hearings have established a significantly new path to look into the “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” (UAP).

Additionally, The Daily Mail’s source added that there have been several incidents involving UAPs and NASA missions. NASA has a history of astronauts and employees who publicly accepted the existence of UFOs and alien life. Buzz Aldrin, Edgar Mitchell, Story Musgrave, British cosmonaut Helen Sharman, Russian cosmonaut Vladimir Kovalyonok and Victor Afanasyev, etc. have had shocking encounters.

This article explained what caused Edgar Mitchell to believe in ET after returning from Moon. Former NASA astronaut said that he had experienced an epiphany that changed his thoughts about the origin of life on Earth and accused the government of hiding the truth. In 2004, he claimed the U.S. government was covering up the truth, including the study of alien bodies, commenting: “A few insiders know the truth… and are studying the bodies that have been discovered.”

UFO cover-up by Timothy Good

In 1987, British UFO researcher Timothy Good wrote a book entitled “Above Top Secret: The Worldwide U.F.O. Cover-Up,” in which he stated that Neil Armstrong saw “other” spacecraft. It has been the most bizarre claim ever made. Is there any truth in Mr. Good’s book?

Timothy Good was once called “Britain’s leading UFO researcher” by British weekly newspaper Observer. After presenting his book, he was involved in the initial publication of the purported Majestic 12 documents. Later, according to skeptic Phil Klass, Good questioned the authenticity of at least some of the documents. In 2007, the CIA cited Above Top Secret as one of the sources contributing to “the idea that CIA has secretly concealed its research into UFOs”. Besides, in May 2019, Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 credited Good’s book with “opening his eyes” into UFOs, leading to DeLonge’s development of To The Stars.

Fortunately, the myth of 70 years that UFOs do not exist has ended. Mr. Good clarified in his book “Above Top Secret” that UFOs do exist and that the governments of the world have been hiding evidence of this fact. His study is worth examining the facsimile copies of confidential and secret documents from the U.S., Canada, and Europe, as well as the controversial MJ-12 documents.

Did Neil Armstrong find aliens on the moon?

According to Mr. Good, a former female MI6 agent told him that Neil Armstrong suggested to her that there were “other” spacecraft on the Moon when Apollo 11 landed in 1969. In his book “Above Top Secret,” Good wrote that there are certain people (whose identities are still questionable) who claimed that Armstrong did in fact encounter UFOs on the Moon.

Otto Binder, Maurice Chatelain, and Dr. Vladimir Azhazha are some names Mr. Good mentioned in his book who had worked for NASA during Apollo 11. According to Mr. Good, they all have claimed that some radio hams received the message from NASA in which Armstrong said that he had seen other spacecraft.

Binder’s statement in Mr. Good’s book: “These “Babies” are huge, Sir! Enormous! OH MY GOD! You wouldn’t believe it! I’m telling you there are other spacecraft out there, Lined up on the far side of the crater edge! They’re on the Moon watching us!”

Unfortunately, there is no information about Binder in NASA archives, but there is a great article [click here] that discusses what it took to overhear the Apollo mission directly, including a contemporary article about it.

“Baysinger’s wife and daughter watched the Apollo 11 landing on TV while Baysinger and Rutherford listened via Baysinger’s equipment. The signal on the home-built equipment came through approximately 5-10 seconds earlier than the signal on TV. Baysinger figures NASA or the TV network [I assume it was probably CBS] put in a delay in case they needed to edit out anything embarrassing.

The signal the lunar eavesdropping equipment picked up was noisy, but Baysinger says you could hear what was going on. Baysinger made tapes of the transmissions, which he still has. In September 2009 he transferred salvageable sections of the tapes to MP3 format for this project. You can hear them for yourself via the links below.

I asked Baysinger whether he found anything that NASA edited out – comments about things going wrong, the astronauts being loose with their language, or exclamations about meeting aliens! He said no – absolutely everything was transmitted to the public on TV. In fact, he said, “that was kind of disappointing”. Part of the idea of this project was to hear the unedited “real story”, and it turned out there was nothing edited out. Indeed, Rutherford’s story makes no mention of hearing anything unusual.”

Is there any Maurice Chatelain, former chief of NASA Communications Systems who also confirmed that Apollo 11’s radio transmissions were interrupted on several occasions in order to hide the news from the public?

Unfortunately, again Chatelain’s identification cannot be confirmed. Interestingly, instead of “NASA Communications Systems,” Apollo did have the position of “Chief of Communications and Frequency Management,” held by Paul A. Price. However, there are counter-claims that Maurice Chatelain worked for a NASA sub-contractor and had been fired before Apollo 11 happened.

Did Dr. Vladimir Azhazha, a physicist and Professor of Mathematics at Moscow University also confirm that the message was sent to NASA but was censored? Again, there is no public information about this person. It is difficult to say if he ever existed or his identity is confidential.

It is worth noting that the original higher-quality video from Apollo 11’s time on the moon has been lost. What’s available now was produced by pointing an NTSC-based camera at a monitor displaying the original SSTV signal. However, the lack of original video is hardly the “most mission tapes” that was originally claimed, and the original audio from the moon landing is still available.

Apart from Armstrong, the second man on the Moon, Buzz Aldrin might add some light to the alleged Apollo 11 UFO encounter on Moon. Documentary filmmaker James Fox stated on a podcast that he had met with Fay Ann Aldrin, a sister of the second man on the Moon, Buzz Aldrin. According to Ann, Buzz Aldrin said that “something followed them to the Moon.”

Fox claimed that Aldrin was ready to tell his story, before pulling out of an interview at the last moment out of fear of being labeled a “UFO nut”. Although he did not tell his story to James Fox, Aldrin spoke publicly to the Science Channel, asserting that objects were following Apollo 11, to which NASA responded by issuing a statement, claiming Aldrin was taken out of context and that objects seen by the crew were “panels from the separation of the spacecraft from the upper stage.”

Aldrin has previously asserted that there is a monolith on Mars’ moon, Phobos. He said: “We should visit the moon of Mars, there’s a monolith there, a very unusual structure on this little potato-shaped object that revolves around Mars once every seven hours. When people find out about that they are going to say, “Who put that there? Who put that there?” Well, the universe put it there, or if you choose, God put it there.”

Buzz’s participation in the Phobos’ monolith mystery encouraged UFO hunters and other researchers to search for the sign of alien life on Mars. NASA has been exploring the universe for decades and plausibly encountered UAP on many occasions, otherwise, they would never switch off live video when strange objects enter the screen.

The Inca were an illustrious ancient civilization, whose sprawling empire stretched from Ecuador to the north, to central Chile in the south. Many of the remnants of their incredible civilization are found today in Peru, both along its coasts, and in its rugged highlands. The Inca were enigmatic in many ways - possessing incredible architectural skills that often defy all sense of logic. They were true ancient engineers - and many of their secrets are forever lost to time. Here are 10 of their most famous engineering marvels.

1. The Lone Jewel on the Mountaintop, Machu Picchu

Perhaps the most famous of all Inca ruins is the magnificent Machu Picchu , the self-sufficient citadel and royal residence. Today, it is considered as the most recognizable symbol of the Inca, and for years it was called their “Lost City”. The site is situated on a 2,430-meter (7,970 ft) mountain ridge, in inhospitable terrain where one would never imagine a settlement to stand. And yet, the ingenious Incas managed to create a thriving community so high up in the mountains.

Machu Picchu is located above the Sacred Valley, 80 kilometers (50 mi) northwest of Cusco, with the important Urubamba River flowing past it. The important citadel was likely built as a royal estate for Emperor Pachacuti, also called Pachacutec (1438–1472), sometime around 1450 AD. However, it was abandoned just a century later, as the Spanish Conquistadors ravaged the Inca Empire .

The entire citadel of Machu Picchu is an engineering marvel in itself - a pitch-perfect commune that was created on top of a steep mountain point. And even so, it had all the comforts of life - storage buildings, housing, incredible agricultural terraces, as well as a stunning Temple of the Sun. For centuries all of these structures were hidden beneath dense foliage, until their rediscovery in 1912. Today, it remains an incredible window into the ingenuity of the ancient Incas.

2. The Impregnable Citadel of Sacsayhuamán

The vastness of the Inca empire had to be defended from any would-be attackers. The mighty citadel of Sacsayhuamán is a mind-boggling archaeological site located on a hill overlooking the city of Cusco, Peru. The site is believed to have been built by the Inca civilization during the 15th century, during the reign of Sapa Inca Pachacuti, and served as a military fortress and religious center.

The thing that Sacsayhuamán is most noted for are its massive stone walls, which feature impressive stonework and some truly awe-inspiring engineering feats. The impregnable citadel walls were constructed using massive stone blocks that weigh up to 200 tons, and were fitted together so tightly that it is said a piece of paper cannot fit between them. How did the Incas achieve such an incomprehensible architectural feat? Many theories exist, but none can say for certain how the process looked like. The site also features a number of other structures, including temples, palaces, and fountains, all of which captivate with their grandeur.

Today, Sacsayhuamán is a popular tourist destination and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is an incredible feat of human skill, and one of the most renowned Inca sites.

3. Qhapaq Nan, The Great Inca Road

In order to control such a large empire and to make everything function as it should, the Inca had to create a reliable road network. It wasn’t an easy task, but they did it, nevertheless. The result is Qhapaq Nan , also known as the Great Inca Road - a vast network of roads and footpaths that spanned more than 20,000 miles (more than 32,000 km) throughout the Andes Mountains of South America. The road system served as a vital communication and transportation network for the Inca civilization and connected many of their major cities and settlements.

The Qhapaq Nan was built over several centuries, beginning around the 15th century AD, and was constructed primarily using stone and gravel. The road system features numerous impressive feats of engineering, including suspension bridges, tunnels, and switchbacks. The roads were also lined with waystations and storage depots, which provided food, water, and shelter for travelers. The Great Inca Road connected the coastal and the mountainous parts of the empire, making traveling easy and less dangerous.

Today, many sections of the Qhapaq Nan are still in use, centuries later - it was that well-made. And it only serves as proof of incredible Inca skill.

4. Ollantaytambo and its Impregnable Walls
The Inca city of Ollantaytambo is an archaeological site located in the Sacred Valley of Peru , approximately 72 kilometers (45 miles) northwest of the city of Cusco. It is believed to have been built by the Inca civilization during the 15th century AD and served as a military, religious, and agricultural center.

Ollantaytambo is renowned for its truly impressive fortress, which features massive stone terraces and walls that rise up to 60 feet high (18 m). Some of the pieces are incredibly heavy, but still placed with absolute precision and a tight fit. The site was strategically placed as to defend against attacks from hostile neighboring tribes, and played an important role in the Inca resistance against Spanish conquistadors. Its position and impregnable walls made it an easily defendable site.

In addition to the fortress, Ollantaytambo features a number of temples, palaces, and other structures, all of which showcase the remarkable engineering and architectural skills of the Inca civilization. The site also features a sophisticated system of canals and aqueducts, which were used for irrigation and water management. In its heyday, Ollantaytambo was a sprawling Inca city that had all the comforts of life, and was also well protected. It is a bustling city today as well, and many original Inca structures, houses, and doorways are still in daily use.

5. The Stunning Terraces of Moray

One of the foremost accomplishments for which the Inca were praised was their mastery of agriculture in an otherwise inhospitable and rugged terrain. With their unique system of terraces and irrigation, they became the true masters of growing crops. And the Inca city of Moray is an ideal example of this. It is an archaeological site located in the famed Sacred Valley of Peru, approximately 50 kilometers (31 mi) northwest of the city of Cusco. It consists of several terraced circular depressions in the ground, which were used by the Incas for agricultural experimentation and research.

The circular depressions at Moray range in depth from approximately 30 to 150 feet (10 to 45 m) and are arranged in a series of concentric rings. The terraces were likely used to simulate different microclimates, which allowed the Incas to experiment with different crop varieties and growing conditions. The temperature difference between the top and the bottom levels of these terraces can be as much as 5 °C (9 °F), allowing for different growing conditions. Furthermore, the terraces are connected by a complex system of channels and canals, which allowed for precise control of water flow and irrigation.

Moray is believed to have been built during the 15th century AD by the Inca civilization and served as an important agricultural research center. The site is considered a remarkable example of Incan engineering and agricultural innovation and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

6. Tipon Showcases the Hydraulic Engineering of the Incas

Did you know that the Incas also mastered hydraulic engineering ? Their majestic city of Tipon is a remarkable example of this. This archaeological site is located in the Cusco region of Peru, approximately 15 kilometers (10 mi) southeast of the city of Cusco. It is situated on a hillside at an altitude of about 3,400 meters (11,154.86 ft) above sea level and covers an area of approximately 6.5 hectares. Tipon was built by the Inca civilization around the 15th century AD and likely served as a royal estate and an agricultural center. The site contains a sophisticated system of terraces, canals, and aqueducts, which were designed to irrigate the crops and gardens that grew on the terraced hillsides. The engineering prowess of the Incas is evident in the precision of the stonework and the complexity of the hydraulic system. The terraces are so well built that they remain incredibly well preserved today.

One of the most impressive features of Tipon is the extensive system of water channels and fountains, which were used for both irrigation and aesthetic purposes. The channels are made of finely cut stone and are carefully aligned to maximize water flow. The fountains are adorned with intricate carvings and were likely used for ceremonial purposes as well.

7. Raqch’i Venerated Viracocha

Religion played a great role in the daily lives of the Incas. Their once-majestic city of Raqch'i is located in the southern highlands of Peru, and is believed to have been built by the Inca civilization during the 15th century AD and served as an important administrative and religious center.

Raqch'i is renowned for its massive temple complex, which features a rectangular courtyard surrounded by a series of impressive, titanic stone walls. The temple is truly enormous, and measures 92 meters (302 ft) by 25.5 meters (84 ft). It is dedicated to Viracocha, the great creator God of the Inca, and their most important deity. The temple complex also includes a number of smaller buildings and structures, as well as a sophisticated system of irrigation canals and terraces.

The site is also notable for its extensive agricultural terraces, which were used to grow crops such as potatoes, quinoa, and corn. The terraces feature a complex system of irrigation channels and are a testament to the impressive engineering skills of the Inca civilization - in all spheres of their lives.

8. Pisaq, The Royal Estate and its Irrigation Canals

Alas, it was completely devastated and destroyed in the 1530s by the Spanish conquistadors, headed by Francisco Pizarro . The modern settlement of Pisaq arose in the shadow of these noble ruins.

The name Tambo Colorado means "Red Tambo" in Spanish, referring to the red color of the adobe walls. The site covers an area of about 6 hectares and includes several well-preserved buildings, including a large central plaza, residential quarters, and administrative buildings. Ex-CIA Officer: Truth About UFOs Is Terrifying & Interdimensional Beings Are Within Us

The US Congress now suggests that some UFOs are non-human in origin. This is the most significant assertion made in UFOlogy to date. Several insiders have openly acknowledged the existence of UFOs over the past few decades and implied that the phenomenon is always present around us and that our limited senses prevent us from being able to see it.

A few months ago, former CIA officer Jim Semivan made a shocking statement, saying “there’s a whole other reality that surrounds us that we just simply don’t have the ability to see or interact with.” He had worked with the CIA for 25 years before joining Tom Delonge’s “To the Stars Academy” with other ex-government insiders. The “To The Stars Academy” is an organization that claims to have been responsible for the release of the now-famous Pentagon UFO videos.

He described how he joined the CIA and acquired years of specialized training in spycraft. Since the CIA operates under the “need-to-know” premise, Semivan was not specifically informed of any UFO-related study, despite the fact that CIA analyst Kit Green was well-known for exploring the paranormal.

According to him, “There is a force out there that can control our environment, that can put thoughts into our heads.” In fact, Mr. Semivan has previously stated that UFOs sighted by the Navy are from another world. He made shocking assertions regarding unidentified flying objects in an interview with James Iandoli, saying that the occurrence can be startling, especially to children.

“When we started TTSA, we had discussions about this all the time. Are we sure we want to disclose this information? I mean, you know, are we going to scare eight-year-olds?”

“I had some friends who were like, ‘Oh, my daughter wants to know all about UFOs. Can we talk to you about that?’ And I said no. I’m not going to talk to you about that. What am I going to tell her or him, these 10-, 11-year-olds? Could such a reality kill them psychologically for the rest of their lives?”

“Yes, that there is a force out there that can control our environment and put thoughts into our heads. That they can lie to you, deceive you, and that you are not in control of your life. Tell this to a 12-year-old,” while succinct, Semivan suggests that the “rabbit hole goes much deeper” when it comes to the UFO phenomenon.

Moreover, in his recent podcast appearance on “Calling All Beings,” he fiercely said that non-human intelligence is living with humans on Earth. “There’s an entity out there! There’s some kind of non-human intelligence that’s living with us on this F**KING planet,” Semivan said.

Semivan spoke about his own experiences with alien-like beings that started happening to him and his wife in their bedroom in 1990 on Coast to Coast AM. He insisted that the event was real and that it was not a hypnagogic or dream state. The couple thereafter had intermittent poltergeist activity in their home, and more recently, he claimed to have seen a hooded figure that resembled the Death Eater from the Harry Potter series, who perhaps materialized to herald the death of a close friend.

Mr. Semivan said he agreed with the statement made by Colm Kelleher, a researcher at Skinwalker Ranch, that the UFO phenomenon is much more than just mechanical parts and devices because psychic and biological factors also contribute to the event’s extreme strangeness. He stated that To the Stars was still looking into “metamaterials” with unusual isotope ratios that may be connected to UFOs.

In the first half of the interview, Semivan said:

“I think they mention that the phenomenon is a natural part of our universe, and we’re living in it but we don’t recognize it. The same way that insects and animals don’t recognize the human universe. A cat and a dog could be running through a library, but they don’t have the faintest idea what the books are all about and what libraries are all about. We might be walking through our existence and there’s a whole other reality that surrounds us that we just simply don’t have the ability to see or interact with.”

“It seems to be peeking inside our little consensus reality. As I explained to somebody once, it comes close, it teases us, it cajoles us, it lies to us, but you can never take it home to meet the parents. It won’t allow you to do that. There’s no formal introduction. Add on top that there’s no ontology, which is just a fancy word, it basically means there’s no structure to even discuss this. We don’t have a common lexicon. Somebody said we have dots but no connections. I don’t even think we have dots.”

Elizondo & Tom Delonge Found Photos Of Italian Helicopter Destroyed By UFO In 2004

In 2003 and 2004, a series of unexplained fires broke out in Canneto di Caronia, Sicily, Italy. These fires were seen in household objects such as fridges, TVs, and mobile phones. The phenomenon attracted the attention of residents and dozens of experts, including scientists, electrical engineers, and military personnel.

Investigations ruled out arson, and an amazed scientist reported witnessing an unplugged electrical cable burst into flames. Locals blamed supernatural forces, and the Vatican’s chief exorcist even weighed in, stating that the fires could be caused by demons occupying electrical goods. (Source)

A leaked interim report by the Italian Civil Protection Department, conducted with the involvement of a NASA scientist and ordered by the government, concluded that the most likely cause of the fires was “aliens.” The report estimated the cost of the two-year investigation at $1.2 million.

According to the report, the fires were caused by high-power electromagnetic emissions with a power of 12 to 15 gigawatts, which were not man-made. The report also cited a possible unidentified flying object (UFO) landing near the village, with burnt imprints found in a field that could not be explained.

Francesco Mantegna Venerando, Sicily’s Civil Protection chief, stated that they were still working on their conclusions. He noted that while they were not claiming little green men from Mars caused the fires, they were considering the possibility of unnatural forces producing a large amount of electromagnetic energy. Another possibility being explored was the testing of top-secret weapons by an unknown power capable of producing an enormous amount of energy.

In April 2004, when a series of mysterious fires broke out, the Italian Military became involved since there had been several reports by fishermen of luminous objects at night flying over and going into the sea. The Military detected a UFO on the radar, but they could not make visual confirmation from the ground. So, they sent a helicopter to investigate everything.

In the “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation” series (Season 1 Episode 6), former Director of Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) Luis Elizondo and Tom Delonge paid a visit to Rome, where they discovered shocking details about the 2004 Sicily UFO attack.

Lt. Col. Clarbruno Vedruccio of the Italian Navy’s Special Forces shared a story about a series of spontaneous fires in Sicily in 2004 and how a UFO approached the helicopter and fired a beam forced the pilots to make an emergency landing.

“In 2004, in Sicily, a craft appeared a few hundred meters behind the copter tail and it shot an (electromagnetic) ray that destroyed the helicopter wings. The signal was absolutely directional. It was a beam. On a certain band of frequencies. Then we discovered that when they use their energy weapons, they must go outside stealth mode. We could see them on a certain band of (electromagnetic) frequencies.” […] “You could use the same frequency to provide a radio beacon to call them, to attract them. To show them that we have understood their technology,” said Lt. Col. Clarbruno Vedruccio.

Once the helicopter approached the coordinates, the UFO revealed itself, coming out of stealth mode. Officials said the helicopter was chased by a saucer-shaped UAP that shot a powerful, focused electromagnetic beam at its rotors. It fried them enough to disable the helicopter and force it to crash land. They figured out that the source of the spontaneous fires was an electromagnetic frequency from the sea. About 80 kilometres offshore and deep underwater really surprised Elizondo, as he was quite aware of underate sightings.

Elizondo said: “They were very pointed, in a matter of fact, that these things had been kind of plaguing them for some time. One individual, in particular, provided some very, very detailed information to include some analysis on frequency. I hate to say it, but they may have more information than we do, even in the US potentially.”

Another incident involved Captain Achille Zaghetti and his co-pilot, who encountered a 10-foot-long, khaki-colored UFO while flying from Milan to Heathrow. Capt. Zaghetti, recounting the 1991 event above Lydd, Kent, told Italian journalists: “It was shaped like a cigar and passed very close about 300 meters on the right, or 1,000ft.” (Source)

“The color was military beige. We guessed that it was around three meters long. It was approximately 8 or 9 p.m., when it was still bright at altitude but pitch black on the ground,” said Captain Zaghetti, who resides in Grosseto, Tuscany.

“It could have caused a terrible accident. If you’re flying at 700 kilometers an hour, hitting an object of 1kg is like hitting something which weighs 700kg.” Air traffic controllers at Heathrow spotted the UFO on the radar while directing a British Airways jet into the airport.

Capt Zaghetti claimed the object was not a weather balloon and resembled instead the sort of long-distance fuel tanks that fighter aircraft sometimes carry.

He was later contacted by a counter-terrorism official from an American agency who asked for more details about the encounter. He said he was glad his co-pilot had seen the UFO as well, because he did not want to be accused of being a fantasist. “And we had to visit the doctors every six months,” Capt Zaghetti added, saying there were no doubts about his health at the time.

“Had any foreign adversary attacked a military helicopter of another nation, that could surely be a sign of aggression, and maybe potentially an act of war. So that’s a big deal,” Elizondo said. So are the world militaries engaged in combat with UFOs? It was not the first time UFO attacked man-made crafts and missiles.

For 18 years, Robert Jacobs, a former US Air Force officer, had been participating in the official United States Government-ordered UFO cover-up. The cover-up was about the UFO shooting down one of the ballistic missiles back in 1964 in Big Sur, California. According to him, the warhead was approached by a UFO and fired a beam of light from different directions. Subsequently, the warhead malfunctioned and tumbled out of sub orbit hundreds of miles short of its target. “This… unidentified flying… thing had apparently shot down an American dummy atomic warhead,” Dr. Jacobs said.

As people die, their brains are widely believed to stop working. However, near-death experiences are common across the world, and experiments have found that dying lab animals experience bursts of brain activity. Now, scientists have revealed they detected the same kind of brain signals in dying comatose patients in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The new study, the most detailed yet on the dying human brain, may shed light on mysterious phenomena such as near-death experiences.

What we know about cardiac arrest

After "cardiac arrest" — that is, the heart stops—people typically appear to lose consciousness. However, researchers have long questioned whether consciousness actually continues in some covert manner during the dying process.

Previous research suggests 10 to 20 percent of cardiac arrest survivors report near-death experiences, which often involve a feeling of leaving the body, love and light, and spiritual beings. A number of scientists even claim near-death experiences can occur when electrical activity has apparently stopped in the brain.

Experiments on lab animals undergoing cardiac arrest reveal they can experience a surge of so-called "gamma activity." Brain waves are the rhythmic activity of brain cells; they come in a number of frequency bands named after Greek letters. Gamma waves have frequencies ranging from about 20 to 80 cycles per second and are linked with the coordinated brain function seen in people who are awake.

"The word coordinated here is important, as random activity would be more the signature of a dying dysfunctional brain than a brain that is able to produce the rich experience of the near-death experience," Peter Fenwick, a neuroscientist and neuropsychiatrist recently retired from King's College Hospital and the Institute of Psychiatry in London, told Inverse.

What the researchers did

In the new study, researchers used electroencephalography (EEG) to analyze electrical activity in the brains of four dying comatose patients in an intensive care unit before and after doctors withdrew life support with the approval of the patients' families.

Although scientists have previously recorded the activity of a dying human brain, this new work is a first in many ways, study senior author Jimo Borjigin, a neuroscientist at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, tells Inverse. None of the prior studies monitored and analyzed both brain and heart signals second-by-second during the entire dying process, nor did they investigate brain signals and their patterns across space and time in as much depth, he explains.

Previous work on the dying brain "comes mainly from animals, which is unhelpful as it has never been taken to this degree of analysis, with multiple electrodes and proper placing of the electrodes to show the widespread nature of the activity," says Fenwick, who did not take part in this research.

Prior research on dying human brains also fell short, "as there has not been comprehensive electrode coverage of the scalp or detailed computer frequency analysis," Fenwick adds. "This study thus opens a new door."

What brain activity reveals about near-death experiences

Two of the four patients experienced a rapid, massive surge of gamma activity in the brain as they died. This burst took place in the temporo–parieto–occipital junctions, which are linked to vision and hearing, and there’s evidence to suggest these junctions are linked to out-of-body experiences too, Borjigin says.

"They show quite clearly that as the life support goes, brain activity continues for a few minutes. The activity is very widespread and involves many of the areas which you might expect to be active in underpinning the consciousness of the near-death experience," Fenwick says.

Gamma rhythms were also seen between temporo–parieto–occipital zones and contralateral prefrontal areas. This may suggest whatever these patients experienced may have been encoded in the form of memories, Borjigin says. If they had survived, this meant they potentially could have recalled these experiences, he explains.

"They show quite clearly that as the life support goes, brain activity continues for a few minutes. The activity is very widespread and involves many of the areas which you might expect to be active in underpinning the consciousness of the near-death experience."

All in all, these findings suggest the human brain can indeed be active during cardiac arrest. "At last, we have been able to follow the dying brain's activity in detail," Fenwick says. "I know of no other study that is as comprehensive as this one."

Still, this new work does raise a number of caveats. "These findings must be very carefully interpreted because there is no evidence whatsoever that these brain activities were correlated with conscious experiences in those dying patients or that these findings could be compared with prospective near-death experience studies in patients who have survived a cardiac arrest and who reported a near-death experience," Pim van Lommel, a cardiologist at Rijnstate Hospital in Arnhem in the Netherlands, who did not participate in this study, told Inverse.

In addition, all four patients had brain damage during previous incidents of cardiac arrest. "Thus, their brains may have been damaged in a particular way which would invalidate this work," Fenwick says. The two patients in whom the gamma surge was seen also had a history of seizures, and so one might argue this gamma activity was related to seizures and not to a near-death experience, he adds.

This was a small study, Borjigin cautions. More studies are needed to determine what brain activity may be linked with near-death consciousness that might explain near-death experiences, he says.

"Perhaps we will no longer be so phobic about including the study of death as a proper scientific subject," Fenwick says.

In 2019, Former Polish President Lech Walesa shocked everyone with a story about aliens and UFOs. He had been serving as the president of Poland from 1990 to 1995. While addressing a public group in the city of Krosno, the retired politician said that he became a supporter of the idea that rational aliens not only exist but can also be dangerous to the Earth.

Walesa believes that there are 3 levels of intellectual development in other galaxies. Unfortunately, humanity is at the lowest level. He warned that the visit of incredibly advanced and intelligent creatures could be a threat to the security of our planet. “What are they doing here?” he said. “If we threaten to destabilize here with Macron, P[u]tin there, they will interrupt us, cut us in half, the Earth will collapse, everyone will crush,” said Walesa.

The former president suggested that such an invasion scenario could push humanity back for 5,000 years. It would take the restoration of civilization from scratch “to the very moment when we are today.”

Walesa also said that perhaps, similar situations had already occurred. There have been 5 or 4 civilizations like ours that had reached the same technological advancement that we are today. They made the same mistakes that we are doing now. They collapsed due to a lack of peaceful communication.

Regrettably, it is not easy to find complete translations of the speech given by the former politician who has since retired. However, one section of the speech provides a glimpse into Wałęsa’s views on extraterrestrial phenomena. These views include vague references to what might be construed as the work of Zecharia Sitchin or Erich von Däniken.

“The higher civilization can hold us that way for five thousand years. They will send Adam and Eve and we will build the world again,” he said. “People find things, dig in stones, these pyramids … no answer, where did it come from?”

Lech Walesa expressed his belief that there have been civilizations in our history that have reached similar levels of technological advancement to modern civilization but ultimately collapsed due to war and a lack of peaceful communication. This idea is not uncommon among those who believe in the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations, as many speculate about the potential dangers of advanced technology in the absence of moral and ethical guidance.

The ex-politician also pointed to a variety of archaeological puzzles. He used them as examples of a potentially advanced human race that was destroyed many years ago. “People find things, dig in stones, these pyramids… no answer, where did it come from?” he said.

The media has often shown interest in and made fun of public officials who express their belief in the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence, and Wałęsa is not the first one to do so. Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, a Florida congresswoman claimed to have been abducted by tall blonde aliens when she was a child.

While her claims were met with ridicule by many, her beliefs in extraterrestrial intelligence are not uncommon. In fact, many people around the world claim to have had similar experiences or encounters with alien beings, although their accounts are often met with skepticism and criticism.

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid also advocated for a serious investigation of the UFO phenomenon. Reid believed that the government has not taken the UAP Phenomena seriously enough and that there is more evidence to suggest the reality of extraterrestrial life than many people realize. Reid’s beliefs are shared by many who believe that there is a cover-up surrounding the issue of UFOs and that the truth about extraterrestrial life has been kept from the public.

In March 2022, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory posted a paper on arXiv.org that detailed a new design for a message intended for extraterrestrial recipients. Is revealing Earth’s location to aliens a good idea? Physicist Stephen Hawking said that they could even destroy us. He spoke publicly about his fears that an advanced alien civilization would have no problem wiping out the human race the way a human might wipe out a colony of ants.

Considering Hawking’s statement, is there any hostile alien civilization out there? Recently, a research paper published on arXiv.org has explained the consequences of contacting extraterrestrial civilizations. The paper attempts to provide an estimation of the prevalence of hostile extraterrestrial civilizations through extrapolation of the probability that we, as the human civilization, would attack or invade an inhabited exoplanet once we became a Type-1 civilization in the Kardashev Scale capable of nearby interstellar travel.

The author of the paper Alberto Caballero admits that although there are some limitations, there are roughly four “malicious extraterrestrial civilizations” in the Milky Way.

Mr. Caballero suggests that the probability of invasion by a malicious extraterrestrial civilization is lower than the probability of a planet-killer asteroid collision. He researched the number of times invasions happened on Earth and applied it to the number of known and estimated exoplanets.

He concluded that sending radio messages to potentially habitable exoplanets has an extremely low probability of invasion. He mentioned that only one malicious extraterrestrial civilization in the Milky Way that has mastered interstellar travel is likely, making them the so-called “Type 1” civilization. The fear of alien invasions is mostly created due to the hostile behavior of aliens shown in Hollywood movies.

A former CIA pilot John Lear dedicated part of his life to serve in the US Air Force and then worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He believed that a significant number of alien civilizations visiting Earth are hostile or have a different set of morals than humans. He mentioned incidents such as the 1987 UFO sighting over Anchorage and the 1975 UFO sightings over Strategic Air Command bases, where UFOs reportedly hovered over the nuclear weapons storage area for several hours. Lear also referred to a 26-page document made by Bruce Maccabee, a physicist employed by the Naval Surface weapons laboratory, which he claims provides evidence of the UFO sighting over Anchorage. While Lear did not directly say that the aliens were hostile, he implied that their actions were threatening, especially around military installations.

Astronomers look instead for odd, periodic behavior in light from SMBH accretion disks. One signature might originate in the cooler gases just beyond a disk’s edge. They emit light at specific wavelengths, which the gases’ swirling motion smears into “broad emission lines” through the Doppler effect.

If each SMBH in a duo had an accretion disk, however, they would produce two distinct sets of broad emission lines, displaced from each other by the motion of the black holes. Repeated observations might reveal variations in the position of the lines as the SMBHs circle each other. “They are only tiny fractions of an orbit, but they should be measurable,” Greene says.

More than a decade ago, Greene and her colleagues searched in data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, which has logged spectra from millions of galaxies since 2000. Although their trawl turned up seven galaxies with duplicated broad emission lines, none has showed clear signs of shifting since then. “Time scales are too short,” Greene told the RAS meeting. “If [Sloan] goes for another 10 years … we may see signals.”

Another tactic is to look for periodic flaring in the overall brightness of an accretion disk, which could be a sign of a disturbance from an SMBH companion. For example, an SMBH on a close but tilted orbit around a companion with an accretion disk might crash through the disk twice per orbit, causing it to flare.

Last year, in a preprint posted on arXiv, a team reported seeing just such periodic flaring in a galactic core spied by an optical survey telescope in California, and it was speeding up: from yearly to monthly. The team believed it was the final death spiral of an SMBH binary and predicted a merger within the year. “Unfortunately, it did not turn out to work that way,” says team member Huan Yang of the Perimeter Institute: The flaring rhythm became erratic.

Another prime candidate, known as OJ287, has flared every 11 or 12 years since the 1970s. But its latest flare failed to appear when expected in October 2022. “OJ287 could still be a binary, but we also cannot rule out that it is no binary at all,” says Stefanie Komossa of the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy (MPIfR), whose team has been monitoring it since 2015.

Greene says she isn’t surprised that the hunt for periodic flares hasn’t paid off. Accretion disks are inherently noisy and can flare from other events, such as the SMBH swallowing stars or gas clouds. “There are many candidates, but nobody believes them,” she says.

Another way that SMBHs announce their presence is via jets, narrow beams of ionized gas fired out from the black hole’s poles at close to the speed of light. The ions gyrate around the SMBH magnetic field lines, producing synchrotron radiation at many wavelengths. If the SMBH producing the jet is orbiting in a binary, it may wobble like a top and blast out a helical jet, leaving ghostly corkscrew trails of glowing gas visible at radio wavelengths. Maya Horton of the University of Hertfordshire says the gas trails can persist for thousands or millions of years.

By combing through archives of radio images, Horton and her colleagues have compiled a list of 20 candidates with oddly shaped jets. They hope to find more when the Low Frequency Array (LOFAR), a set of radio antennas stretching across Northern Europe, releases a new data set in the coming months. LOFAR has asked citizen scientists in the Radio Galaxy Zoo project to look for curves in the galaxy images.

But a solitary SMBH can also mimic that signature if its accretion disk is tilted compared with the spin of the black hole. Through a process known as frame-dragging, the black hole causes the disk’s axis of rotation to swing round, or “precess.” And because jets are thought to align with the axis of the disk, a precessing disk should also produce a corkscrew jet.

In addition, theorists don’t yet fully understand how jets operate, let alone how interacting SMBHs might affect them. “They can hardly be modeled at the moment,” says MPIfR’s Silke Britzen. So she and other observers can’t be sure a curvy jet signals a black hole pair. “We’re more or less guessing.”

In search of a more definitive signal, Britzen’s team zoomed in with high-resolution radio observatories to the base of the jet, to see whether it varies over time. They targeted the flaring galaxy OJ287, whose jet is thought to be aimed almost directly at Earth. In 2018 they published an analysis of 120 images made over more than 2 decades with the Very Long Baseline Array, a set of 10 radio dishes stretching across the United States whose data are combined to achieve very high resolution. They found that OJ287’s jet changed shape in a way that seems to repeat every 22 years. Its brightness followed the same pattern. Recent, unpublished results show OJ287’s distribution of energy across frequencies also pulses over a 22-year cycle.

The three synchronous phenomena are evidence for a wobbling jet, Britzen argues. “The jet is working like a clock,” she says. Although she and her colleagues can’t rule out a precessing disk around a single SMBH, they favor a binary explanation, and have identified another 11 galactic cores showing similar patterns.

Britzen hopes that someday astronomers will be able to zoom in even further and see the binary SMBHs themselves with an upgraded version of the Event Horizon Telescope—an array of radio dishes spanning the globe that in 2019 produced the first image of an SMBH. The array might need to be expanded with radio dishes in space to get the resolution needed to discern an SMBH pair at galactic distances, but the payoff would be worth it, she says. “It would be fantastic to really see the two cores rotating.”
