Russian Cosmonaut Claims UFOs Are Real
Cosmonaut Alexandr Balandin
Balandin stated that “flying saucers” have come into close proximity to the MIR space station as well as the Baikonur Cosmodrome.” He added there is sufficient evidence to warrant a scientific study of the phenomenon, and that it is time that world governments officially acknowledge the UFO phenomenon’s existence. “General Vladimir Ivanov, former commander of Russia’s Military Space Forces, recalls that three objects flew at a considerable altitude over Baikonur Cosmodrome and were picked up on radar. There is no way they could have been airplanes.” insisted the cosmonaut. Balandin disclosed at Brazil’s First International Ufology Forum, that he and fellow cosmonaut Musa Manarov had seen UFOs. During docking operations between his space capsule and the MIR, Balandin saw a glowing object a short distance away.

Manarov managed to capture the strange phenomenon on videotape, which was shown during the UFO congress in Brazil. Balandin claimed that the recording and other evidence presented during the Congress, “must be studied by an international scientific commission.” Balandin insisted that the Russian military has a great contribution to make to UFO research, giving as an example the multiple-witness case at the Kapustin Yar missile base, whose personnel sighted a semi-circular object flying at low altitude lighting up the base’s facilities with a powerful searchlight in June 1989. “Many of my old comrades, who are now working at top-secret military facilities, acknowledge having seen UFOs. Tony Todd a British police detective and Sergeant wrote the book, “ He states, “I have collected a substantial file of evidence to suggest that there are alien bases under the sea in the North Atlantic, and they are protected by a high-level international conspiracy.” From an alien point of view, it is a logical choice. To them it is good camouflage, and a mineral rich seabed which I believe is a major part of the attraction. In the winter of 1992, there were dozens of sightings in Scotland and Iceland.;

“On 20 December 1992, an Icelandic Naval source telephoned to say that three large UFOs had been tracked coming down and entering the sea off the east coast of Iceland, close to Largeness. Other witnesses confirmed seeing these UFOs; they were also tracked on radar. The following day, Icelandic fishermen reported seeing large underwater craft, with flashing-colored lights. They appeared to be tracked by a glowing object in the sky direction which was travelling south towards Scotland. The underwater craft caused a great deal of damage to the trawler nets of the fishing boats.

On 23 December, two gunboats from the Icelandic Navy and a coast guard vessel were sent on observation to Largeness. They were joined by a fleet of NATO ships that were officially on a naval exercise despite the fact it was Christmas. Newspaper stories reported the fleet was tracking large underwater craft, thought to a new Russian super submarine. On Christmas Eve, the crew of two British submarines were suddenly recalled from leave and sent to rendezvous with the fleet.”

All the NATO ships joined in the search, during which one of the British submarines mysteriously lost power and struck the seabed. Planes report malfunctioning equipment and reports of UFOs near the Mirelic Reef. The top of the photo is a sharp drop-off to the deep. A pinnacle rises three thousand feet from the bottom but does not quite break the surface.
The declassified documents contain Soviet era reports detailing many cases of possible USO encounters. Former naval officer and Russian UFO researcher Vladimir Azhazha believes these documents are of excellent value. Unidentified submerged objects (USOs) are not as famous as UFOs although they are often encountered, according to declassified Russian Navy records. The common trait of all USO phenomena is that they involve unexplained and technologically advanced objects, far superior to anything we’ve ever built. One of the most interesting cases he examined involved a nuclear submarine on a combat mission in the Southern Pacific. During the routine operation, the submarine detected six unknown objects traveling in formation at speeds in excess of 230 knots (265+ mph) faster than any human submarine.
Declassified Russian Files List Underwater UFO Encounters
A Russian UFO researcher is calling for an investigation after declassified files from the Soviet era detailed cases of terrifying incidents alien encounters, reports daily. Former naval officer and UFO researcher Vladimir Azhazha believes the documents that mention the Soviet K-222 nuclear submarines being hunted out of the sea by speeding unidentified objects in the Southern Pacific. During the routine operation, the submarine detected six unknown objects traveling in formation at high speeds. The objects were believed to be headed straight for the Soviet submarines, which were forced to surface. But the USOs followed them to the surface and then flew away.
Retired submarine commander Yuri Beketov recalled similar instances in the region of the Bermuda Triangle.
Mr. Beketov said on-board instruments often malfunctioned, indicating the presence of strong interference, which many believed was a clear sign of USO and UFO presence.
Mr. Beketov said: “On several occasions the instruments gave reading of material objects moving at incredible speed. Calculations showed speeds of about 230 knots, or 265 mph.
“Speeding so fast is a challenge even on the surface. But water resistance is much higher. It was like the objects defied the laws of physics. There’s only one explanation: the creatures who built them far surpass us in development.”
The submarine’s sonar determined the objects were heading straight for it, so the captain gave the order to surface. The USOs followed them to the surface then flew away. Similar instances have been reported in the region of the Bermuda Triangle, as retired submarine commander Yuri Beketov recalls. Azhazha believes the issue should be thoroughly investigated. “I think about underwater bases and say: why not? Nothing should be discarded,” says Azhazha. “Skepticism is the easiest way: believe nothing, do nothing. People rarely visit great depths. So, it’s especially important to analyze what they encounter there.”
Both UFOs and USOs seem to concentrate wherever military operations occur, indicating their interest in humanity’s military arsenal.
Alien Base
There appears to be a chain of undersea bases in the Atlantic Ocean. FAA recorded 10,000 UFOs off the coast of Virginia in the last two years. There is also frequent underwater activity and USOs moving at high speed. Navy Divers out of Norfolk Naval base report high speed underwater craft moving near the coast and described the encounter between a group of Navy divers and several humanoid beings that frightened them.
Another USO hotspot is off the coast of Virginia and North Carolina where fishermen tell tales of lights being spotted in its deep waters. Multiple reports of UFO/USO entering and leaving the water. A NASA Scientist called me and stated, “NASA does not believe in ET, but I can visually see a craft just leaving the Atlantic Ocean and flying above it.” It is more advanced than anything I’ve seen launch from Cape Canaveral.
In Europe it was said that the Norwegian military found a saucer on a remote North Atlantic island of Spitsbergen. On May 23, 1955, newspaper columnist Dorothy Kilgallen wrote, “British scientists and airmen after examining the wreckage of one mysterious flying ship are convinced that these strange aerial objects are not optical illusions or Soviet inventions but are actual flying saucers which originate on another planet. Underwater Bases
Jorge Martín writes, Puerto Rico, in the Caribbean Greater Antilles, is a land full of surprises that for many decades has been a hot spot of UFO /USO extraterrestrial activity. This activity has been connected, on many occasions, with the sea surrounding the island. Now, we have made a startling finding which may shed more light on this enigma.
Puerto Rico and Deepest Ocean Trench

The largest anomalous structures are observable beneath yythe islands of Puerto Rico and Vieques, and almost reaching to the island of St. Croix. We discovered mysterious anomalous structures which lie on the seafloor in the south and east of Puerto Rico, which extend from a point in the south of the city of Ponce to another point in the south of the island-municipality of Vieques, in the east.
We discovered them while studying the seabed around the island using NOAA images derived from that agency’s studies by means of satellite imaging. The structures are much too geometrical in shape, and that detail makes us think they are complex artificial structures, and not the product of casual natural geological formations.
The first anomalous structure consists of an extremely large rectangular structure which shows at its left end an entrance into the seafloor. The structure and its ‘entrance’ are geometrically shaped too, and again, they seem to be of an artificial origin.
But also, starting right out from the top left of that structure there is huge roads or tunnels which connect to the continental shelf in the south of the city of Ponce, in southern Puerto Rico.
‘Coincidentally’, back in the late 1980s many citizens of the city of Ponce heard drilling or boring underground with some powerful machines and sounds of large falling rocks.
Now, after discovering the submerged roads or tunnels that connect with the continental shelf in the south of the city of Ponce, I think on the possibility that the two things are related. Did the builders of the structures on the seabed south and southeast of Puerto Rico also built an underground access to the city of Ponce?
First there are the large structures and the road-like or tunnel-like structures that connects it with the continental shelf south of the city of Ponce. Secondly, there is a large quadrangular-shaped complex of structures formed by other five rectangular-shaped structures, and right in the middle, between the islands and the anomalies is a deep undersea canyon known to locals as the ‘South Depth’.

De Vida Silvestre Laguna Cartagena
This Cartagena Lake is known for UFOs entering and leaving on a regular basis in the Southwest corner of Puerto Rico. It is thought this lake is an entry to some of the Ocean bases or else also contains a base. The lake may also be used to obtain fresh water. The Lake is part of the National Refuge of De Vida Silvestre Lake Cartagena
The question is, who built them down there, and who may be using them?
The images show a vast undersea-underground baseset of large structures off the main island of Puerto Rico. Various structures are 105 miles length and forty miles wide a tremendous amount of territory! Another thing to consider is that the depth at which these structures are is one of thousands of feet underwater, and they are subjected to a very strong pressure in dark abyssal depths.

It could be speculated that form the structures are part of a secret base of the United States Navy, although it would be difficult for humans to withstand the water pressure. Another possibility is that the vast complex of underground / underwater structures located in the south of Puerto Rico is extremely old and was built prior to modern humans living in this area. Some might argue this, but the huge dimensions of the structures, and the depth of several thousand feet at which they are made it difficult for it to be human beings who inhabit and work in them, as they could not build this type of huge complex structures at such depths, for this would require some sort of superior technology that we humans do not have at this moment. The depth of 15,928 feet is one in which it is difficult for humans to live and work at.
Its origin could be dated to a period during or before the last ice age, as huge ice sheets covered much of the Earth in those days, and the sea level worldwide was much lower than it is today. In fact, it is known that for some time the islands of the Greater Antilles were one single mass of land that was above the sea level of that past era. Perhaps an advanced prehistoric civilization could be responsible for the construction of these surprising structures.
But there is another possible explanation: what if the structures were not the product of human technology, nor the product of an antediluvian disappeared human civilization, but the product of a civilization of aliens who have lived in this area for a long time, hiding from humanity?
The use of highly advanced alien technology surely would allow advanced aliens to live and work in these dark depths, and under the conditions of high pressures experienced there. This possibility cannot be excluded, as there is voluminous photographic evidence and testimony and several hundred of witnesses (pilots, fishermen, and residents of coastal areas all around Puerto Rico, who testify about frequent sightings of UFOs or USOs submerging into the sea along the coastline or flying out from the water.
There is a significant evidence of this (which we published in our book ‘El Yanique: Gateway to Other Worlds’) which is shown in an official NASA document, a video filmed by the astronauts crew of the space shuttle mission STS-80, when they filmed a UFO that flew out from the sea at a point located south-east of the island- of Vieques, after which it soared out into space at a speed of 500 miles per second. After approaching the space shuttle, the UFO suddenly swerved to the left and quickly disappeared into deep space.
The specialist in digital imaging analysis, and consultant to NASA, Mark Carlotto, studied this video’s data, the specific day and time and azimuth position the STS-80 shuttle was at when taking the views, and undoubtedly confirmed that the UFO rose out to space precisely from a point at sea south of the island of Vieques, precisely at the point in which lies one of the structural anomalies we discovered, the large quadrangular-shaped structure.

Bill Maher defended parents who are against Critical Race Theory and said that the progressive approach denies progress made on racial issues in America.
Maher also appeared on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time Wednesday night and immediately was asked about Critical Race Theory.
“It’s not a phantom, either. There’s something going on in the schools that never went on before,” Maher told CNN’s Chris Cuomo. “Now I do understand this issue because I read accounts from parents, from educators. And this is all over the country.”
The HBO host especially took issue with involving children in the CRT discussion because they are “probably not old enough or sophisticated enough to understand this very complicated issue with a very complicated history.”
“Kids are taught, and sometimes separated into groups, oppressor and oppressed,” he said on CNN. “Again, does a kid even know what those words mean? Would they gravitate toward that if you hadn’t told them?”
Maher said a major problem is that liberals are afraid to acknowledge progress on social issues.
“You can acknowledge that we have made great progress on all the social issues and yet there is still more work to be done,” Maher told

What does that word mean, Mommy?’ Is a kid, a young kid old enough to process that? If a child wants to change his name to a girl’s name, that stuff is right in your home. That’s at your kitchen table. That is the kind of stuff that is going to get people who go, ‘Oh, you know, what he was doing — Trump and Ukraine, it was wrong as much as I read about it, but Ukraine is a long way away and this is my house and these are my children.”

The Confederacy capital, Richmond, VA. fell on April 9, 1865, General Robert E. Lee surrendered his Army to General Grant. Nevertheless, Booth continued to believe in the Confederate cause and sought a way to salvage it. There were an estimated 1.5 million Union casualties reported during the Civil War.

The country is in riots over the white police killing 14 blacks usually during an arrest. If black lives really matter, why no riots against the 8,000 blacks killed each year by blacks. Abortion has taken more Black American lives than every other cause of death combined since 1973. On average, 800 Black babies are aborted every day or about 292,000 per year in the United States. It seems the high abortion rate is not lost on young black men who slaughter each other. Some 295 policemen were killed in the last year, and over 100,000 who died from Fentanyl coming across our Southern Border that the fake nightly news never mentions.
My experience has a teacher and School Board Member is that many in the education field love Marxism much more than the United States. I have been to 62 countries and suggest they travel to Cuba and Venezuela and see the real suffering in Communist Countries. Then decide how lucky they are to be in the U.S. which unfortunately is rapidly deteriorating.

The charge that schools are indoctrinating students in a harmful theory or political mindset is a longstanding one, historians note. Critical Race Theory appears to be the latest salvo in this ongoing debate. “It’s because they’re nervous about broad social things, but they’re talking in the language of school and school curriculum,” said one historian of education. The curriculum is usually anti-religion, anti-morality, and anti- military, and anti-patriotic.
In the early and mid-20th century, the concern was about socialism or Marxism. The conservative American Legion, beginning in the 1930s, sought to rid schools of progressive-minded textbooks that encouraged students to consider economic inequality; two decades later the John Birch Society raised similar criticisms about school materials. As with CRT criticisms, the fear was that students would be somehow harmed by exposure to the Marxist propaganda.
As the school-aged population became more diverse, these debates have been inflected through the lens of race and ethnic representation, including disagreements over multiculturalism and ethnic studies.
Those tensions led to the implosion of a 1994 attempt to set national history standards. A current example that has fueled much of the recent round of CRT criticism is the New York Times’ 1619 Project, which sought to put the history and effects of enslavement stating the country began with the first slaves. To my knowledge it does not mention indentured white servants a form of limited slavery for three to seven years of settlers whose being servants paid for their passage to the Colonies

Ward – on November 14, 2021, we have been seeing this star like object for the last few months and just want to know what it is. It moves slowly maneuvers, before going behind the trees. You can see a dark ring around it on some of the video. Stars don’t move like this.

Gilbert– on November 13, 2021, object had appendages coming out of center or simply changing shape almost like an arm moving around. Then appendage retracted and object turned into fuzzy edge triangular shape.

Storrs – on November 2, 2021, while driving home from University of Connecticut I noticed two triangle shaped objects in the sky. Upon coming closer one looked to be about the size of a tennis court. It was flying a bit higher than a 6-story building.

Key West– on November 4, 2021, I noticed an object hovering in the sky while driving down highway US-1 going to Key West.

White Hall — on October 30, 2021, he was awakened at 4:06 AM 1 and saw 5 long fingers by his face. He saw three 5-foot-tall beings with large black eyes by his bed. He heard something hit the wall and then the beings were gone. He later found scratches on his neck and arm. He snapped a photo and said that the being can be seen in a photo blow up.
Lansing– on November 11, 2021, on Veteran’s Day the Leavenworth community was conducting their annual Veterans Day Parade. While observing the Air Force jets flyby, I recorded 6 seconds and saw several flashes of orbs that were maneuvering at incredible speed. Thee orbs assembled in formations of three by three as the jets passed.

Lafayette– on November 14, 2021, I was taking images of the Orion Nebula using a Mallincam 26ctec camera attached to my C-14-inch Edge HD telescope at 1.8 focal ratio. At 2:58 am, I observed several UAPs moving across the Orion Nebula as a bright area showed up in my field of view followed by additional UAP’s in succession.

Hancock – on November 14, 2021, driving home at 4:48 pm. I saw a disc close to our house above the treetops. On the left here was a blue flashing light, a white one in the middle and a red flashing one the right. It was a stationary black flying saucer, with a flat circular base with a large dome on top. It was larger than a house.

Anonymous– on November 8, 2021, sighting seen that was far away and intently was so close you could see people like beings.

Brooklyn – on November 12, 2021, I was taking photos of the moon and one caught a real UFO zipping by! Only one captured the UFO.

Bethlehem – on November 6, 2021, I saw a large object in the southwest sky that was very well lit up. It was round and eight sided. It had lights all around it and thin spokes extending from the outer rim to the center.

West Salem – on November 12, 2021, while driving in the country I saw a huge very bright light 1500 feet agl. As I got closer, I saw that it was actually three bright lights each at the end of the points of a triangle shaped craft. I was looking at the bottom of the craft.

Shoal Bay– on November 10, 2021, I heard a Jet Fighter and saw it after hearing a boom. Taped and saw an object at the very end of the recording. It was travelling fast above the clouds. You be the judge. The balls were the size of a Mac Trucks.

Zagreb– on November 1, 2021, I was looking out of window at night, and I saw a glowing object not too far away from me. It was stationary and went to eat and object disappeared.

Cernay – on November 9, 2021, observation at 6:40 p.m., while driving to Haut Rhin in Alsace of an immense triangle hovering silently. It was four hundred meters high as it flies slowly over me. I return home 2 minutes later, and I hear two fighter planes near the object.

It was about 3-4 times the size of the moon from my point of view. It was fling Southeast and I tried following its path for 5 minutes before I lost it behind a cloud.

Stourport— on June 26, 2021, spotted two spinning objects that stayed in one space then vanished. There was no other flying object in the area. I’m 100% confident this was a UFO

West Lothian–– on November 6, 2021, I noticed a zigzag lights in the sky. It was small, had white/yellow flashes and was oval in shape. It moved very quickly west and below a tree line.

Colliding Gases at the Heart of the Running Man Nebula
Behold, the Herbig-Haro object known as HH45, captured by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST)! These objects are a rarely seen type of nebula made up of luminous clouds of dust and gas. These occur when newborn stars form within a nebula and eject hot gas, colliding with the surrounding gas and dust. The result is bright shock waves that look like mounded, luminous clouds in space!
In this image, HH45 is shown inside the nebula NGC 1977, part of the larger three-nebulae complex called the Running Man. The Hubble image managed to capture the clouds of ionized oxygen (O II) and magnesium (Mg II), indicated in blue and purple (respectively). These elements are of particular interest to researchers since they can identify shocks and ionization fronts with these objects.

Along with its companions, NGC 1975 and NGC 1973, NGC 1977 is one of three reflection nebulas that make up the Running Man Nebula located in the constellation Orion (just north of the massive Orion Nebula). The term reflection nebula refers to clouds of dust and fast that don’t emit light on their own but reflect light from nearby stars. In the case of NGC 1977, the entire region is excited by the hot young star 42 Orionis (HD 37018).
On the same day that the HH45 image was released, NASA released a second image (shown below) of a stellar jet inside NGC 1977 visible to Hubble. The orange plasma jet (visible at the bottom center of the image) stretches over two light-years through space and was emitted by the young star Parengo 2042. This star is embedded in a disk of debris that could give rise to planets someday.
The red and orange colors in this image indicate the jet and the related glowing shocks waves, which are visible because of how they are powered by the radiation of a nearby star – 42 Orionis. While this star isn’t visible in the image, its bright light can be seen entering the frame at the lower right and extending across the bottom half of the picture.
On the right side of the image, there are glowing blue ripples that look like they are flowing away from the jet, which are bow shocks facing 42 Orionis. In space, bow shocks happen when streams of gas collide and form crescent-shaped waves, similar to what ships at sea leave in their wake. Similarly, the bright western lobe of the jet is surrounded by a series of orange arcs that diminish in size with distance, forming what appears to be a conical shape.

Jets like this are particularly useful to researchers because the outflowing gas remains visible thanks to the ionizing radiation of nearby stars. Ordinarily, outflow jets are only visible when they collide with surrounding gas and dust, creating bright shock waves that disappear once they cool. It also provides a visual representation of what Hubble was looking for while observing this nebula.
Basically, Hubble observes reflecting nebulae like NGC 1977 in the hopes of witnessing stellar jets and planet-forming disks. The overall aim is to learn more about how debris disks from which planets form are affected by ionizing radiation and other factors in their local environment. Data obtained from these types of observations campaign ultimately allow astronomers to improve their models of planetary formation and help address the deeper questions of how and where life can emerge in our Universe.
For the past two years, China's Yutu 2 rover has been roaming across the Von Karman crater on the far side of the moon. And on its journey, it spotted a mysterious cube-shaped object.
According to Space.com, the China National Space Administration keeps a log of each of the rover's lunar days, which is around 29 Earth days, according to NASA. On its 36th lunar day, the rover spotted a cube-shaped object on the horizon about 260 feet away. Andrew Jones, a Space.com reporter tracking China's space endeavors, said officials called it a "mystery house." Here is what the object looks like:
Photos of the object have gone viral on Twitter, and some users have come up with some interesting, and funny, theories on what it might be.
On the other hand, some people were wondering if this cube-shaped object could mean something dangerous:
Though there is no actual answer for what the cube is, it probably isn't something that is going to destroy Earth. Jones said the most likely explanation is it's actually a large boulder that appeared after an impact event.
But China officials are intrigued by the object, and Yutu 2 will be traversing through the region and avoiding craters to get closer to it. It will take the rover two to three lunar days, or up to three months, to approach the object. Still, some are hoping for complete chaos.

China's Yutu-2 rover spotted a strange cube-shaped object in Von Kármán crater on the dark side of the moon.
Since the rover is about 80m away from the fuzzy object the rover team is planning to drive over and get a closer look at the object.
Although they are talking about a cube-shaped object, the object seems to consist of two towers. The true nature of the object should be become clearer as the rover gets closer.
Near the closing hours of world war two, the nazis started to experiment with more… unconventional aircraft designs. And technologies that some would consider, unnatural.

NASA has set a goal of getting a sustainable colony of humans on Mars by 2030, and in the years leading up to 2030 the space agency is collecting any relevant information that will assist them in the pursuit.
A big part of the data collection aspect of the mission is NASA's Mars rovers, Perseverance and Curiosity. Perseverance landed on the Red Planet on February 18, 2021 and has since been inspecting the Jezero Crater for any signs of ancient microbial life. Curiosity landed on Mars on August 6, 2012 and has been studying the geology of Mars for quite some time. Recently, Curiosity snapped an incredible view of the Martian landscape, check it out here.
Since the pursuit of Mars has begun there have been several notable discoveries, and some of them have happened in 2021. Below you will find five recent incredible discoveries about Mars that will assist the human civilization in creating a sustainable presence on Mars.
1. Mars Once Contained Water
It was recently confirmed in a paper from earlier in 2021 with images taken by NASA's recently landed Perseverance rover that the Jezero Crater was once flooded with water, and had a river delta present.
NASA's InSight probe, which is equipped with extremely sensitive instruments that measure the vibrations of deep within Mars detected the first Marsquake, and provided data that indicates Mars' crust may be anywhere between 12 and 23 miles thick. Researchers are yet to determine if Mars' core is the same as Earth's.
"Provided details on the depth and composition of Mars' crust, mantle, and core, including confirmation that the planet's center is molten. Earth's outer core is molten, while its inner core is solid; scientists will continue to use InSight's data to determine whether the same holds true for Mars," explains NASA.
Back in July, 2021, a paper was published in the journal Geophysical Researcher Letters that details a study on the topography and mineral composition of a select area that's located in the northern hemisphere of Mars. The study found evidence of "super eruptions".
"Spewing water vapor, carbon dioxide, and sulfur dioxide into the air, these explosions tore through the Martian surface over a 500-million-year period about 4 billion years ago."
In early September, NASA's Perseverance rover collected its first rock sample, and has since collected four more samples. The samples being collected are showing signs of groundwater being present, which may even contain microbial life.
"It looks like our first rocks reveal a potentially habitable sustained environment. It's a big deal that the water was there a long time," said Ken Farley of Caltech, the project scientist for the mission.
Researchers believe that Mars once contained quite a lot of water, but are yet to find a singular reason why it lost it all. However, they have discovered some factors at would have been at play. Using three spacecrafts researchers were able to discover the dust storms warm up higher altitudes of the cold atmosphere.
"In the higher reaches of Mars, where the atmosphere is sparse, water molecules are left vulnerable to ultraviolet radiation, which breaks them up into their lighter components of hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen, which is the lightest element, is easily lost to space, with oxygen either escaping or settling back to the surface," NASA explained

Ready to Launch
The James Webb Space Telescope is all fueled up and ready to go.
NASA announced on Monday that the controversial spacecrafthas been loaded with a propellant it’ll use for its thrusters to move around while in orbit, according to a blog post from the agency. These thrusters will be crucial as the craft makes precise course corrections shortly after launch.
“The loading of propellants into the Webb observatory is complete at the Arianespace launch facilities in Kourou, French Guiana,” Randy Kimble, the Webb’s integration, test and commissioning project scientist, said in a separate update. “This is an important step in the path toward launch.”
Final Countdown
The telescope is slated to launch later this month from Europe’s spaceport in French Guiana. The craft will be placed on an Ariane 5, a European heavy-lift launch vehicle operated by the European Space Agency, which will yeet it to its new home in orbit.
Fueling the telescope itself was an incredibly delicate procedure, as the propellants are extremely toxic. In fact, it took 10 days in order to pressurize the Webb’s propellant tanks all the way.
Name Blame
While the telescope is expected to provide the clearest and furthest views into space ever, it has attracted a ton of controversy due to its namesake: former NASA administrator James Webb.
Still, the Webb will be the most advanced orbital observatory in history when it launches. It’s so sophisticated that some even believe it’ll discover evidence of human life — which almost makes up for its terrible name. Almost.

China has succeeded in literally changing the weather, a new study claims.
As the South China Morning Post reports, researchers say that during the Chinese Communist Party’s centennial celebration over the summer, weather authorities successfully modified the weather above Beijing to clear the sky and reduce pollution for the tens of thousands gathered for a commemorative ceremony in Tiananmen Square.
They did so using cloud seeding technology, a long-studied but controversial process that involves shooting silver iodide particles into the clouds, with the idea of attracting water droplets to modify the weather.
The paper, by researchers at China’s Tsinghua University, comes a year after reports that China was dramatically expanding its weather modification program to a test area of a whopping 5.5 million square miles by the year 2025. As Futurism noted last December, that’s bigger than the entire country of India, and could end up raising serious issues with China’s neighbors.
Though this isn’t the first time China has used cloud-seeding technology — it’s been dabbling since as early as the months leading up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics — this appears to be both one of the most successful and also largest-scale tests conducted not just by the CCP, but in the world.
It was also not publicized, and part of the Tsinghua researchers’ paper focused on the evidence they found that cloud seeding had actually taken place, which included eyewitness reports of rockets being launched into the sky from the mountains outside of of Beijing before the July 1 centennial, and accounts of rocket debris after the fact.
According to the SCMP, there were a number of hurdles that weather officials had to jump to have successfully changed the weather. Pollution leading up to the CCP centennial was especially bad, the report noted, and it was China’s wettest recorded summer as well. Nevertheless, reports indicated that Beijing’s pollution on July 1 went from “moderate” to “good,” and the mid-day rain did in fact appear to be artificial.
This successful and large-scale operation in Beijing does, however, raise important questions both about potential military usage of the tech. If one country is able to control its own weather, it could in theory do so elsewhere — which is unwelcome news for anyone who isn’t invested in forever wars.
Moreover, while cloud seeding is often touted as a potential solution for the megadroughts of the not-so-distant-future, the technology hasn’t been successful for long enough to measure how it affects natural weather patterns, nevermind its impact on climate change.
For now, though, let’s just marvel at the fact that it now seems possible to literally make it rain on command.

The project, dubbed Earth’s Black Box, will be an immense steel monolith installed in a remote location in Tasmania. It’s akin to the black boxes that are designed to survive airplane crashes and provide investigators valuable data on what led to the disaster — except on a planetary scale.

The project is a collaboration between researchers at the University of Tasmania, marketing agency Clemenger BBDO, and creative agency The Glue Society.
The team is designing the box to record climate data such as atmospheric CO2 levels, sea temperatures, and energy consumption levels. It’ll also gather contextual information like news headlines and social media posts.
“The idea is if the Earth does crash as a result of climate change, this indestructible recording device will be there for whoever’s left to learn from that,” Jim Curtis, the executive creative director at Clemenger BBDO, told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

The box itself will be made from three-inch-thick steel and cantilevered off granite. Inside will be a system of Internet-connected storage drives powered by solar panels on the box’s roof.
“It’s built to outlive us all,” Jonathan Kneebone, cofounder of the Glue Society, told ABC. “If the worst does happen, just because the power grids go down, this thing will still be there.

British oceanographers have closed a decades-in length examination concerning the Bermuda not really settled what is behind the many baffling vanishings in the area.
The secretive 700,000sqm triangle, extending between the tip of Florida, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda, and has been the focal point of public interest for more than 100 years, when reports initially began arising of a surprising measure of wrecks in the area. The gathering had gone through Mother’s Day in Puerto Rico and were flying back to Florida when their twin-prop plane disappeared from radar. The inquiry was ultimately canceled and no bodies were at any point found.

As most of our readers already know, the Nellis Test Range complex has been home of some of our country’s most highly classified TOP SECRET and BLACK PROJECTS. Secret projects such as the U2, SR71, the B2 bomber, the Aurora, and the F117A Nighthawk Stealth fighter have all been based or tested there at one time or another.
It only makes sense that this is where we would expect to find some our latest technological developments and it is with that in mind that we now discuss one of the more exotic aircraft we have seen come out of Nellis.
This UFO was caught on film by a government controlled state-of-the-art radar tracking system at a remote tracking location known as Area S30 on the Nellis Test Range in 1994. The radar-controlled cameras monitor the 7700 square miles above the range.
The purpose of the cameras are to record jet-fighter training and tactical exercises; after all, Nellis is known as “The Home of the Fighter Pilot,” as most of America’s ace fighter pilots have done residence at Nellis.
The most logical explanation for this UFO would be that it is some sort of secret project, but typically the contractor personnel at the tracking stations are not exposed to these highly classified projects and the cameras are normally deactivated when those types of projects are flying.
Tolicha Peak, Quartz Mountain or Black Mountain?
The exact location on the test-range where this “Area S30” is located has not been determined, but a few frames of the video reveal a mountain range with what appears to be a couple of radar domes.
It was reported that it might be either Tolicha Peak, Quartz or Black Mountain. The Tolicha Peak area is one of interest because this is where the Tolicha Peak Electronic Combat Range is located.
Even though the object was photographed by a very good remote controlled fixed mounted camera, it still has that fuzzy gassy cloud cotton-ball look about it which seems to be common among some UFOs. One would think that the clarity and resolution would have been much better, but that seems to be typical of these objects.
The object is anomalous for a couple of reasons. It does not resemble any known aircraft and has no apparent wings or means of propulsion that are visible.
The flight characteristics of the craft are totally unconventional compared to known aircraft. When viewing the video, the object appears to make abrupt right-hand turns and horizontal climbs.
The physical shape of the object is hard to ascertain and appears to change shape from frame to frame; at times it appears to be 4 spheres with a darker appendage in the middle.
Air Traffic Control – Radio Transmission
This is a snippet of the radio transmission captured with the video. What this transmission clearly shows is that the ATC/Range Control had no idea what this aircraft was and what is was doing.
CONTROL: I show an aircraft headed north pretty fast. OPERATOR 1: I got a helo [slang for helicopter]. FEMALE OP: At eleven? OPERATOR 1: Yeah, can’t figure out where he’s at on this thing. CONTROL: Be advised… We’re filled to capacity. OPERATOR 2: What is that? OPERATOR 1: I don’t know. No idea. A helo? FEMALE OP: Looks like one. It’s way up high no. It’s going, like straight up. OPERATOR 1: We acquired this unknown object. Aircraft of some type. We’re going to put a launch up on it anyways, see what happens. It seems to be hovering there. [Gives bearing of UFO]. It appears to be going outbound real slow. There’s hardly any range velocity. I don’t know if this would impact or not….[Simulated launch occurs.] We have impact. We’ll call this a kill on this unknown aircraft. T-1 Control doesn’t know what type of aircraft this is either… OPERATOR 2: That’s weird. OPERATOR 1: Strange.
As an added bonus to serious investigators, included on the videotape are the camera tracking information indicators which include the azimuth, elevation and range-to-target indicators. With this information, the anomalous nature of the object’s movements can be studied in greater detail.
In the original “Sightings” TV episode, where the video was made available, it was reported that the videotape was smuggled out by base employees and this may be true, but we find it hard to understand how that could happen without the personnel involved being found out.
Could there be a more clandestine motive behind the release of this video? If so, what would be the purpose?
This month, anasteroid the size of the Eiffel Tower is hurtling towards Earth, and experts are calling it a very remarkable chunk of rock. Because of its closeness to Earth, the asteroid 4660 Nereus is designated as a possibly dangerous object. NASA anticipates it to be at its closest point to Earth in 20 years on Dec. 11. In 1982, the asteroid was found.
The 4660 Nereus is a 330-meter asteroid in the shape of an egg that will pass within 2.5 million miles of Earth during the next week, according to astronomers.
Even though it sounds like a long way away, it’s just around 10 times farther away than the moon, which is considered close by cosmic standards. A near-Earth object is an asteroid or comet that approaches within 30 million miles of Earth’s orbit, according to NASA.
Nereus has been recommended as a destination for a space mission several times, according to Forbes, because of its egg form, size, and orbital route around the sun, it is a perfect asteroid to explore. Researchers regarded Nereus as a strong possibility for a rendezvous mission as early as 2009.

Six months is insufficient time to prepare for an asteroid collision

They discovered that deploying a nuclear disruption mission might greatly lower the chance of impact damage.
The majority of asteroids go unnoticed, and many are discovered too late.
It’s tempting to believe that scientists would discover an asteroid similar to 2021PDC with considerably more notice than six months in the actual world. However, the world’s surveillance of near-Earth objects (NEOs) is grossly inadequate.
A NEO is space rock with an orbit that brings it within 125 million miles of the sun. However, NASA’s Johnson stated in July that “we’ve only detected approximately a third of the population of asteroids out there that potentially pose an impact threat to the Earth.
Of course, mankind wants to prevent a similar surprise to that one the dinosaurs experienced 65 million years ago when a 6-mile-wide asteroid collided with the Earth. However, scientists have missed several massive, deadly objects that have come near in recent years.
In July, a 3-mile-wide shard of space ice called Comet Neowise came within 64 million miles of Earth. Nobody knew the comet existed until it was found approaching four months before by a NASA space telescope.
In 2013, a meteor with a diameter of 65 feet entered the atmosphere at a speed of 40,000 miles per hour. It erupted without warning above Chelyabinsk, Russia, blasting a shockwave over the region, shattering windows and damaging structures. More than 1,400 individuals were injured as a result of the accident.
NASA is experimenting with strategies to thwart an asteroid.
NASA has looked at what choices scientists would have if they discovered a deadly asteroid heading for Earth. Detonating an incendiary material near the space rock, as recommended by the exercise participants, or shooting lasers at the asteroid to heat and melt it enough to change its direction are two possibilities.
Another option is to send a spaceship up to collide with an approaching asteroid, knocking it off course. This is the strategy that NASA is most committed to The FDA plans to conduct a test of this technology later this year. In the fall of 2022, the Double Asteroid Redirection Test will launch a spacecraft to the asteroid Dimorphos and intentionally crash it.
Dimorphos’ orbit may be altered as a result of the impact, according to NASA. While the asteroid poses no threat to Earth, the expedition might demonstrate that diverting an asteroid with adequate advance time is conceivable.
How many asteroids near Earth have been detected so far?
More than 19,000 near-Earth asteroids had been detected as of the start of 2019. Every week, an average of 30 new discoveries are made. The 15,000th near-Earth asteroid was discovered on October 13, 2016, marking a 50 percent increase in the number of known near-Earth asteroids since August of that year, when discoveries surpassed 10,000.
Since 1998, when NASA started its Near-Earth Object Observations Program and began tracking and documenting them, more than 95 percent of these objects have been found through NASA-funded surveys. The Center for NEO Studies at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory keeps track of asteroid discoveries.
Conclusion
Astronomers were busy collecting measurements of the asteroid Apophis during its most recent flyby, which occurred in early March. Later calculations allowed NASA scientists to declare on March 26, 2021, that Earth is safe for at least the next 100 years from a collision with the moderately massive asteroid.
Radar readings at NASA’s Beatty Deep Space Communications Complex in Florida and the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia have ruled out a collision in 2068, the only year in the next 100 with modest risk. Impacts during the forthcoming flybys in 2029 and 2036 have been ruled out by previous observations.
Warp drive pioneer and former NASA warp drive specialist Dr. Harold G “Sonny” White has reported the successful manifestation of an actual, real-world “Warp Bubble.” And, according to White, this first of its kind breakthrough by his Limitless Space Institute (LSI) team sets a new starting point for those trying to manufacture a full-sized, warp-capable spacecraft.
“To be clear, our finding is not a warp bubble analog, it is a real, albeit humble and tiny, warp bubble,” White told The Debrief, quickly dispensing with the notion that this is anything other than the creation of an actual, real-world warp bubble. “Hence the significance.”
That solution was lauded for its elegant mathematics, yet simultaneously derided for its use of theoretical materials and massive amounts of energy that appeared virtually impossible to engineer in any practical way.
Over a decade later, this theory underwent a major shift, when Dr. White, a then NASA-employed warp drive specialist and the founder of the highly respected Eagleworks laboratory, reworked Alcubierre’s original metric and put it into canonical form. This change in design dramatically reduced the exotic materials and energy requirements of the original concept, seemingly providing researchers and science fiction fans alike at least a glimmer of hope that a real-world warp drive may one day become a reality. It also resulted in the informal renaming of the original theoretical design, a concept now more commonly referred to as the “Alcubierre/White Warp Drive.”
Since then, The Debrief has covered a number of physicists and engineers taking their own stabs at designing a viable warp drive, including an entire group of international researchers working on a warp drive that requires no exotic matter. However, like Alcubierre and White before them, the warp concepts of these would-be visionaries all still remain theoretical in nature.
Now, it appears the situation has changed.
TIMING IS EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY AT WARP SPEED
It is often said that timing is everything. Therefore, it is not surprising that back when Dr. White began his latest DARPA-funded research into custom Casimir cavities (a unique, micro-scale structure with all types of promising applications), he definitely did not expect to stumble upon this potentially historic discovery, particularly one supporting a theoretical concept that has often defined his public persona.
“Some work we’ve been doing for DARPA Defense Science Office is the study of some custom Casimir cavity geometries,” explained White at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Propulsion Energy Forum in August of 2021, an event attended by The Debrief. “In the process of doing that work, we kind of made an accidental discovery.”
Without going into the complicated physics behind Casimir cavities and the tantalizing quantum-scale forces often observed in these unusual structures, it suffices to say that they are in no way related to warp drive theory or mechanics. At least, they never had been before. But, says White, it is work that he and his LSI team are passionate about, and something DARPA believes has a number of possible applications.
So, whether by pure coincidence or some sort of personal destiny, it appears that one of the handful of engineers on the planet who would immediately know what it was he was looking at when conducting his Casimir cavity research was in the exact right place at the exact right time to notice a striking similarity to his warp drive passion project and his current research, an observation that may have otherwise gone unseen.
“I think this is a great example of sometimes you are doing work for one reason, and you find something else you really didn’t expect to find,” said White at the AIAA conference.
Therefore, in this particular case at least, it seems that timing was indeed everything.
PEER REVIEW AND CONFIRMATION OF WARP BUBBLE
“While conducting analysis related to a DARPA-funded project to evaluate possible structure of the energy density present in a Casimir cavity as predicted by the dynamic vacuum model,” reads the actual findings published in the peer-reviewed European Physical Journal, “a micro/nano-scale structure has been discovered that predicts negative energy density distribution that closely matches requirements for the Alcubierre metric.”
Or put more simply, as White did in a recent email to The Debrief, “To my knowledge, this is the first paper in the peer-reviewed literature that proposes a realizable nano-structure that is predicted to manifest a real, albeit humble, warp bubble.”
This fortuitous finding, says White, not only confirms the predicted “toroidal” structure and negative energy aspects of a warp bubble, but also resulted in potential pathways he and other researchers can follow when trying to design, and one day actually construct, a real-world warp-capable spacecraft.
“This is a potential structure we can propose to the community that one could build that will generate a negative vacuum energy density distribution that is very similar to what’s required for an Alcubierre space warp,” explained White.

A PROPOSED PATH FORWARD
To further evaluate his groundbreaking results and move the research forward, White and his team have come up with a proposed design for a testable, nano-scale “warp drive craft.”
“Specifically,” said White during the AIAA presentation, “a toy model consisting of a 1-micron diameter sphere centrally located in a 4-micron diameter cylinder was analyzed to show a three-dimensional Casimir energy density that correlates well with the Alcubierre warp metric requirements.”
“This qualitative correlation,” he adds, “would suggest that chip-scale experiments might be explored to attempt to measure tiny signatures illustrative of the presence of the conjectured phenomenon: a real, albeit humble, warp bubble.”
White expanded further on that idea in yet another email to The Debrief.
“This is a potential structure we can propose to the community that one could build that will generate a negative vacuum energy density distribution that is very similar to what’s required for an Alcubierre space warp.”
When asked by The Debrief in December if his team has built and tested this proposed nano-scale warp craft design since that August announcement, or if they have plans to do so, White said, “We have not manufactured the one-micron sphere in the middle of a 4-micron cylinder.” However, he noted, if the LSI team were to undertake that at some point, “we’d probably use a nanoscribe GT 3D printer that prints at the nanometer scale.” In short, they have the means, now they just need the opportunity.
There is “no plan to do this currently,” explained White, as “we are laser-focused on the custom Casimir cavities.”
Nonetheless, after proposing this further path for future research, White and his team have also outlined a second testable experiment that involves stringing a number of these Casimir-created warp bubbles in a chain-like configuration. This design, he said, would allow researchers to better understand the physics of the warp bubble structure already created, as well as how a craft may one day traverse actual space inside such a warp bubble.
“We could go through an examination of the optical properties as a result of these little, nano-scale warp bubbles,” explained White at the AIAA conference. “Aggregating a large number of them in a row, we can increase the magnitude of the effect so we can see (and study) it.”
Given that DARPA is paying the LSI Eagleworks lab to explore Casimir cavities and not the accidental discovery of a warp bubble, regardless of its potentially staggering implications (at least, not yet), it is not surprising that White and his team remain “laser-focused” on the work at hand. Plus, given the sometimes secretive nature of work funded by groups like DARPA, even if White and his team were planning to conduct the two tests outlined once their current project is completed, it may not be immediately made public until another significant breakthrough is cleared for publication.
(Note: White confirmed to The Debrief that the current DARPA-funded research is not classified, hence his freedom to publish the warp bubble result. However, the normally forthcoming researcher was more tight-lipped when asked whether or not any future, potentially DARPA-funded work on a nano-scale warp bubble spacecraft might be in the offing once this current work is finished.)
In the end, especially given the magnitude of this discovery and its potential implications, White believes it is only a matter of time before his mini-warp craft is designed and tested, a milestone that he believes will slowly but surely move the whole process toward the ultimate goal of a warp-capable spacecraft.
“This discovery allows us to identify a real structure that can be manufactured that will manifest a real warp bubble,” White explained to The Debrief.
When asked by The Debrief how quickly a successfully-tested nano-scale “craft” like the experimental one his team proposed could be scaled up to something that can actually be flown in space, he offered a more realistic approach to this research, along with an almost poetic piece of hard-earned advice.
“It is early to ask questions about some type of actual flight experiment,” said White. “In my mind, step one is to just explore the underlying science at the nano/micro scale,” before moving toward a larger craft.
Or put more simply, as White did to end that same email, “Crawl, walk, run.”
The Schumann Resonance has skyrocketed in the past couple of months, and researchers don’t seem to find a solid reason for what’s happening. The Earth’s magnetic field is also weakening, and scientists don’t know the reasons for this.
So much is happening in this century and people all over the world are starting to feel these changes. A great transition is upon us but there is also a danger for everything that is happening on Earth, starting with climate change, a danger that involves not only humans, but the whole planet, our only home.
Without the earth’s magnetic field we could not live. This complex and dynamic force protects us from the radiation found in space and solar winds. It is generated by the core of the Earth, a central Heart or Sun which is about 3,000 kilometers below our feet, which, like a conductor, generates electric currents and etheric waves.
The problem is that in the last 200 years the magnetic field has lost about 9% of its strength. The large, weakest region is found in Africa and South America and is often referred to as the “South Atlantic Anomaly”.
Over the past five years, a second center of least intensity has emerged in southwestern Africa, indicating that the South Atlantic Anomaly could split into two separate cells. Scientists from the Swarm Data, Innovation and Science Cluster (DISC) are using data from ESA’s Swarm satellite constellation to better understand this anomaly. These satellites are designed to accurately identify and measure the different magnetic signals that make up the earth’s field.
Jürgen Matzka, of the German Research Center for Geosciences, says: “The new eastern low of the anomaly has appeared in the last decade and has been developing vigorously in recent years. We are very fortunate to have the Swarm satellites in orbit to study their development. The challenge now is to understand the processes in the Earth’s core that drive these changes. ”
ANOMALIES IN SCHUMANN RESONANCE
As mentioned above, the Earth has a central Sun or Heart therefore a heartbeat that emits a pulsating electromagnetic field. It is called the “Schumann Resonance” and envelops all living things in a natural and constant frequency, pulsing at exactly 7.83 Hz for thousands of years.
For the A̳n̳c̳i̳e̳n̳t̳ Rishi Indians, this number had a special meaning, as it was identified with the frequency of OM, the sacred and cosmic sound in the Hindu religion. As you are about to see, it now has special significance for all who are becoming aware of this great shift taking place.
For the Western world, the Schumann resonance represents the frequency of the earth’s electromagnetic field. It has pulsed steadily at 7.83Hz with very little variation since it was predicted in 1952.
That all changed in June 2014 when the Russian Space Observatory system showed a sudden surge in activity, peaking at 8.5Hz and even reaching 16.5Hz on some other days.
The researchers were really baffled by this anomaly which had never been recorded before and were unsure how to interpret it. Stacked on top of this dilemma, other unusual peaks have recently been detected, surprisingly rising to over 30Hz, far above the milestone set in 2014. So what to do with this sizable jump in Schumann resonances?
What researchers can mutually agree on is that these changes clearly mean a change of some kind. It is now believed that humans, who have resided in a latent state for thousands of years, are awakening to a greater reality where thoughts will materialize almost in an instant.
The Schumann resonance and the change that has been taking place in recent years are some of the best evidence we have of this change. It has long been suspected that human beings acting at the level of “collective consciousness” may impact the structure of the magnetic field and create disturbances (or some influence) in it, such as the recently detected spikes. This is usually amplified during times of a high spike in states of anxiety, passion, or tension.
This is all based on the fact that the Schumann frequency is “in tune” with the alpha and theta states of the human brain. These rising resonances naturally correspond to the activity of human brainwaves, which means that if Mother Earth is regulating her vibration frequency, then we might as well, especially due to our bond with her.
Another thing to keep in mind is the acceleration of time that has been felt by a growing number of people lately. Since the planet is pulsing at a more careful rate, it could also mean that this is affecting time itself, speeding it up.
So why do we feel that time passes faster than usual?
The reason is apparently related to the acceleration of the Schumann Resonance which makes us perceive a period of 24 hours as about 16 hours. We know that the “heartbeat of the Earth” is accelerating, and after thousands of years with a rigid notion of time, where a full day counted 24 hours, the accelerating “heartbeat” of the Earth is making us feel only two thirds of that. temporal quantity, due to our unconscious adjustment to this New Age frequency.

The Yutu-2 rover is on a roll. It's been exploring the far side of the moon since early 2019 as part of China's Chang'e-4 lunar lander mission. It now has its eyes set on a strange-looking cube-shaped object it spotted in the distance.

Yutu-2's view of the cube is fuzzy and far-off, so the object's true nature should become clearer as the rover gets closer. The most likely explanation is a boulder. This part of the moon is pockmarked with impact craters, which can feature quite a bit of chunky debris.
Don't look to Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon for scientific information about the lunar far side. China's rover is solar-powered, so it periodically goes into hibernation when it's dark and then gets back to work when the sun is out in the Von Karman crater.
According China Daily, Yutu-2 has already traveled 2,756 feet (840 meters) across the moon. Its next jaunt should shed some light on the "mystery house."
Chinese robotjeep spot ‘vreemde kubus’ op achterkant van de maan
De Chinese maanrover Yutu 2 heeft tijdens zijn verkenning van de achterkant van de maan in de verte een ‘vreemd, kubusachtig object’ gespot. Dat schrijft space.com op basis van het dagboek van Yutu 2 op het Chinese wetenschapskanaal ‘Our Space’. We moeten nu niet meteen aan buitenaards leven denken, merkt journalist Andrew Jones van space.com op. “Maar het is wel iets om verder te onderzoeken.”
Jones schrijft op Twitter dat de kubusvorm zich op zo’n 80 meter van de rover in de Von Kármán-krater bevindt. In het Chinees wordt er op ‘Our Space’ naar verwezen als een ‘mysterieuze hut’. Meer een koosnaampje dan de benaming van de realiteit. Het is nu volgens Jones wachten op updates die de rover Yutu 2 de komende twee à drie maan-dagen (twee à drie aardse maanden) vermoedelijk zal verzamelen door dichter bij het voorwerp te komen. Een waarschijnlijke verklaring voor de kubusvorm zou kunnen zijn dat het om een groot rotsblok gaat dat door een inslag is uitgegraven. De achterkant van de maan wordt gekenmerkt door een groot aantal inslagkraters.
Maanlander Chang’e 4 nam robotjeep Yutu 2 bijna drie jaar geleden mee op trip naar de maan. Beide toestellen landden voor het eerst in de geschiedenis van de mensheid op 3 januari 2019 op de achterzijde van de maan, die wij vanop aarde nooit kunnen zien. Sindsdien verkent Yutu 2, aangedreven door zonne-energie, de bodem van de Von Kármán-krater, die zo’n 186 kilometer breed is.
Chang’e 4 is al de vierde Chinese missie naar de maan, de tweede met een rover. De eerste missie met zo’n robotjeep was Change’3. Die verkende de voorkant van de maan, het stuk van de maan dat wij vanop aarde wél kunnen waarnemen.
