New footage of a bright unidentified flying object slowly flying across the sky above San Antonio, TX. This was seen and recorded on Saturday, 6th December 2014.

Witness report: Variable was captured traveling over San Antonio,Texas… While Skywatching facing north,I notice this Flash…As i began to zoom in i notice this rotating object..It seemed to be traveling at a high rate of speed…Used the roof/tree top as reference point(giving the altitude/speed it was traveling).I tried my best to keep it in frame as it traveled overhead..Managed to captured as it appears to morph it shape as it travels overhead..On the Video Captures you can clearly see other orbs..In my Opinion it was clearly no aircraft,weather balloon,satellite,space debris…

L"univers est-il unique? ou non? Et notre cerveau?

Deuxième partie. Limites de la compréhension du cosmos tenant aux insuffisances du cerveau humain

La cosmologie, aujourd'hui, considère en général que seuls de nouveaux instruments plus performants lui permettront de mieux comprendre ce qui lui demeure encore inexplicable dans l'univers. Il s'agit notamment des questions que cherche à élucider la gravitation quantique, rappelées dans cet article. Par exemple, existe-t-il un temps universel dans lequel s'inscriraient les évènements, comme le suggère les physiciens relativistes ?. Faut-il au contraire considérer que le temps, comme d'ailleurs l'espace, tels que nous les définissons dans le cadre de la physique macroscopique, sont des concepts émergents n'ayant pas de sens en terme de physique quantique? . Mais alors, comme ces deux approches sont également validées par des expériences instrumentales indiscutables, comment notre cerveau peut-il se représenter l'univers s'il essaye d'y faire simultanément appel ?

La réponse aujourd'hui la plus souvent donnée est qu'il ne le peut pas. Si bien que la plupart des scientifiques démissionnent devant la difficulté, parlant de Singularités pour la compréhension desquelles aucune théorie ne peut, pour le moment, être utilisée.

Face à de tels aveux d'incompétence, puisqu'il faut bien les appeler par leur nom, la cosmologie attend de nouvelles ouvertures, à la fois au niveau des modèles utilisés par le cerveau pour se représenter l'univers, et au niveau des expériences instrumentales susceptibles de crédibiliser ces modèles. Mais ces ouvertures tardent à venir, malgré la grande créativité des physiciens théoriciens et instrumentaux qui s'y attachent.

Or nous avions dans des articles précédents fait remarquer que ces physiciens ne semblent pas encore, tout au moins dans leur grande majorité, tenter de mieux comprendre les limites de la capacité du cerveau humain à traiter de tels problèmes, cerveau s'exprimant au niveau de l'individu comme au plan global des communautés de chercheurs. Autant ils cherchent à perfectionner, grâce à l'expérimentation, les capacités de traitement des données sensorielles par le cerveau, autant ils ne semblent pas s'intéresser aux capacités de ce que l'on appellera pour simplifier le cerveau associatif, qu'il soit individuel ou collectif.

Il s'agit pourtant du premier instrument à prendre en considération, lorsqu'il s'agit, non pas seulement d'imaginer des hypothèses, mais de tenir compte d'une façon cohérente et communicable sur le mode langagier de toutes les données fournis par les sens et utilisées dans la mise à l'épreuve de ces hypothèses. Autrement dit, le perfectionnement des capacités du cerveau, qui est l'instrument essentiel dont se servent les scientifiques, ne semble pas préoccuper les cosmologistes.

Cela tient indiscutablement à des raisons culturelles, spécialisation des connaissances et manque d'interdisciplinarité. Le Pr MacFadden, auquel nous avons donné la parole dans un précédent article, déplore que les biologistes et les neurologues n'aient pas suffisamment de compétences relatives à la physique quantique pour détecter des phénomènes biologiques ou cérébraux dans lesquels interviennent des q.bits.

Il en est de même, et sur le mode inverse, des physiciens quantiques et des cosmologistes. Ils n'ont certainement pas assez de compétences fines sur le fonctionnement en profondeur des neurones, du cortex associatif et des grands modèles cognitifs collectifs à base de traitements neuronaux, pour mesurer les limites de ces « instruments biologiques de la cosmologie » et suggérer des améliorations.

Une hypothèse pessimiste serait qu'ils ne le pourront jamais, tant du moins que le cerveau restera lié à des bases biologiques qui sont à la fois mal connues, sinon inconnaissables, et non susceptibles d'amélioration car trop liées à l'organisation génétique et aux structures sociales propres à l'animal humain.

Prenons l'exemple d'un rat. Ce mammifère dispose d'un cerveau perfectionné, dont nous ne connaissons d'ailleurs pas toutes les arcanes. Néanmoins il y a des tâches qu'il ne pourra sans doute jamais accomplir (but never say never), tenant aux limites de son cerveau dans le domaine de la construction de grands modèles cognitifs.

Il se représente son monde. Ces représentations lui servent à y naviguer à l'aise. Eventuellement, il peut faire oeuvre d'imagination, son cerveau élaborant des hypothèses sur ce monde dont il vérifiera la pertinence par l'expérience:" il y a ici un orifice qui pourrait servir d'abri, ou une éventuelle source de nourriture". Il s'instruira de plus en plus par de telles opérations.

Mais imaginons que nous placions ce rat au bord de la mer. On peut penser que son cerveau, formé pour l'aider à survivre dans un milieu terrestre ou dans des espaces liquides de faible étendue, n'imaginera jamais qu'au delà de l'horizon marin puisse se trouver des terres fertiles au sein desquelles il pourrait s'abriter et se nourrir. Il imaginerait encore moins que la Terre soit une sphère où se trouvent simultanément des côtes et des océans.

Si dans le cadre d'un processus exploratoire peu conscient fonctionnant sur le mode essais et erreurs, il se jetait à l'eau pour élargir son horizon, il en reviendrait vite afin de ne pas se noyer. De plus, si avec des dispositifs optiques adaptés à sa vision, nous lui présentions des images de rivages lointains comportant d'appétissants morceaux de fromage, il ne serait probablement jamais capable (but never say never) de rattacher ces images aux modèles du monde que son cerveau à construit dans le cours de sa vie. Il ne chercherait donc pas à fabriquer un radeau pour tenter de s'y rendre.

De même, si un rat apprenait éventuellement à jouer d'un instrument de musique, il ne pourrait sans doute pas, son cerveau n'étant pas fait pour cela, inventer des mélodies.

Il est même à craindre qu'aussi adaptatif et perfectionné à son échelle que soit son cerveau, si nous réussissions à lui greffer des copies de réseaux de neurones extraites d'un cerveau de cosmologiste et comportant des modélisations du cosmos élaborés par celui-ci, son cerveau de rat ne pourrait rien en faire. Il ne les verrait même pas. Ceci a été souvent été dit à propos d'éventuelles communications avec des intelligences extraterrestres infiniment plus complexes que les nôtres. Nous ne les remarquerions même pas.

Mutatis mutandis, nous pourrions en conclure que notre cerveau ne sera jamais capable de seulement imaginer des modèles de l'univers suffisamment riches pour apporter des réponses aux mystères que sont pour nous les Singularités. En conséquence nous pourrions jamais les mettre à l'épreuve, avec nos instruments actuels ou d'autres à inventer. Comme le rat au bord de la mer qui n'imagine pas de lointains rivages, nous sommes peut-être immergé dans un univers où les Singularités trouveraient des explications toutes simples. Mais notre cerveau ne peut se représenter un tel univers.

Pourrait-on espérer améliorer les performances de ce cerveau, soit par des modifications génétiques soit par l'appel à l'intelligence artificielle? En principe oui. En pratique non, car il faudrait auparavant savoir dans quelles directions chercher et le type d'améliorations nécessaires. Même en faisant appel à des améliorations inventées au hasard, afin de ne pas rester enfermé dans les postulats de départ, il faudrait sans doute des centaines d'années de tirage au hasard avant de trouver enfin une ouverture susceptible d'enrichir radicalement notre instrument cérébral et ses bases cognitives.

De plus, tel le rat à qui nous montrerions des images de lointains rivages et qui n'en tirerait aucune conclusion, même si une telle ouverture se produisait un jour dans nos cerveaux, serions nous capables de l'identifier et d'en tirer parti? Ne rejetterions nous pas comme parasite, voire monstrueux et relevant de l'asile, tout enrichissement dans les associations neuronales et les modélisations du monde s'écartant d'une façon un tant soit peu révolutionnaire de nos façons de penser le monde, fussent-elles mathématiques?

Faut-il en conclure que nous ne pourrons jamais nous représenter ce qu'il y a derrière les incohérences apparentes de l'univers tel que nous l'imaginons aujourd'hui, superpositions d'états, infinitudes et finitudes, indéterminations et déterminismes...Il y a bien quelque chose, tout ne peut être simplement création de nos cerveaux. Quelque chose qui nous affecte comme cette chose affecte tous les êtres vivants, y compris les rats. Mais très probablement nous ne pourrons jamais nous représenter ce quelque chose. Jamais.

Cependant il ne faut jamais dire jamais.

'Faster Than Sound' UFO Caught Above Portsmouth

The latest UFO sighting comes courtesy of Lewis Rogers, who managed to snap the object while visiting a friend in Portsmouth.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Rogers confirmed that while he believes in UFOs he had never -- until now -- been able to get the chance of capturing one on camera.

“I was the only one who saw it who was quick enough to take the picture. I definitely believe in UFOs. I often look up at the sky in the evening wondering if there is anything or anyone else out there.”

The 26-year old is (rather conveniently?) an animation director which would have been suspicious had the sighting not been reported by an independent witness: Johnny Blackwell, a student from Southsea.

In case you're thinking it might be something meteorological the Daily Star reached out to Laura Young from the Met Office who confirmed that, “After looking at the images, I can say the object is nothing to do with the weather. It is not meteorological and is not a cloud.”

So there you have it. It's not a cloud, and it's almost certainly not a plane, so what is it?

Documentary Of UFO Events At Nuclear Weapon Sites Needs Help

UFO events at nuclear weapons sites are not new to Robert Hastings. Author of “UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites,” (Amazon link) Hastings, says he has collected more than 150 interviews with military veterans from both the USSR and US who have knowledge of UFO events at nuclear weapon sites. Hastings has brought several of these witnesses to the National Press Club in Washington D.C. They shared their knowledge with the media. Their stories and the entire press conference were streamed live by CNN. Now, Hastings is making a documentary of his research, and asking the public to help him to complete it.

Hastings says that he already spent a total of $100,000 for the documentary, and he needs $25,000 more to finish it.

Hastings claims his research is different from the rest because he is the only researcher who focuses on this type of UFO activity. He further says that his data on nukes-related UFO incidents is far more than any other investigators. This data is promised to be featured throughout the film.

Hastings says that his documentary examines the ongoing UFO incursions at nuclear weapon sites, which started from the late 1940s. He reveals that the film is based on stolen Soviet and declassified American documents, backed by testimonies of military veterans from both the USSR and US. He has interviewed over 150 of them throughout the past 41 years, and twelve appear in the film.

Hastings stresses that the testimonies come from highly credible witnesses, who were trusted by the American government to launch World War III by launching their nuclear ICBMs if it had happened. Now many of those veterans decided to reveal that UFOs have been long monitored, and they even shut down those missiles.

Husband And Wife’s Amazing Ufo Encounter In Vermont

On the evening December 4th, 2014 at approximately 9 p.m., I was exercising in our basement and noticed a very bright light which I could see through our basement window. I ran up our first flight of stairs, opened the front door and stood on the porch. Before noticing any detail I felt an intense sense of dread. I looked up toward the sky at a 45 degree angle, directly away from our house, toward Vermont’s highest mountain peak. In the near distance, perhaps a half mile from where I was standing, I saw an extremely bright object, pulsating red and blue lights, bouncing around slightly. I stood for perhaps 30 seconds or a minute watching this object, feeling transfixed but also very fearful. I recalled in that moment some of the stories of abductees who were paralyzed prior to their close encounters, and screamed at myself mentally to turn around and go back inside. I walked quickly inside, locked the door and ran up the next flight of stairs to our living room, where my wife was sitting and watching television. I turned off all the lights and then the TV and told her, “you need to see this.” I brought her to our picture window, oriented precisely eastward in the direction of the object, and asked, “WHAT IS THAT?” She leaned toward the window, squinted her eyes and her mouth dropped open. At the same moment I noticed another similar bright object to the north, but this object became a secondary consideration to us because it was partially obscured by tree branches near our window and appeared to be farther away and at a higher altitude. I asked her to stand there and continue to watch the object for unusual flight patterns if it began to change position. As she did this, I ran to my office to retrieve my Celestron Model #21035 travel telescope. When I returned, I noticed a light on the ground directly below the UFO, in a location that I know to be a patch of cow pasture void of any structures. I quickly found the UFO in my telescope lens. What I saw shocked me down to my core. The object was disc-shaped, bright, colorful, pulsating and bouncing. The pulsating red and blue lights appeared to come from within the craft, passing out through its walls. I then found the light on the ground below the craft and saw that it was cylindrical, orangish-yellow and was illuminating a white angular object which sat closer to my house on the grass. After two or three minutes, I decided that I would not see enough detail in the light and turned the telescope back toward the UFO. When my wife again examined the craft, she asked, “what is that other thing…in the air, closer to us, in the bottom right corner of the view?” I looked and saw the corner of another, mostly black and camouflaged object, perhaps two or three hundred yards closer to us.
 
I watched this object for ten minutes or longer and noticed that it was slowly rocking around and up and down. On several occasions, I could clearly see that the bright, pulsating disc was casting enough light on the angular craft to illuminate two corners of what appeared to be a triangular black craft. My wife paced around the house, communicating irritation with me for looking at these objects with such interest at first, but eventually, after at least a full hour, parked herself on a chair near me saying, “I feel weird…I’m scared…I don’t like this.” At some point, I noticed that the light on the ground had vanished. Then, I noticed that the pulsating disc was calmer – more stationary and less bright. The red light, especially, was mostly or entirely gone and the craft appeared to settle into a lower-energy state. The triangular craft remained in the same position for another thirty minutes. Immediately prior to going to bed, I saw that the disc and triangle had both changed positions. The disc was now higher, perhaps directly above the triangle, which was now oriented with a single corner pointing downward. Suddenly, I saw the full form of the triangle, which was hovering with its underside pointing directly at my window. I saw one faint, circular orange light at each of three corners. The next day, I bumped into a resident who lives on the road directly opposite my house from the previous evening’s activity. This individual informed me that she had see an object that matched my description of the bright object at 9 p.m. on December 3rd and 4th. I knew this meant that the object might return soon, and watched from my window throughout the night of December 5th. Two bright, pulsating objects appeared shortly before midnight, at least one half mile farther from my house than they had been the previous night. I watched for over an hour as they appeared to follow a grid pattern slightly above the tree tops near a river. A quick scan of the internet reveals that Vermont is currently a hotspot for these phenomena. Many people have reported similar objects in my area; MANY more have likely seen them and remained silent.  I would be willing to speak with you by phone, but I must be careful not to allow my name to be associated with my report as it is presented to the public. 08.12.14 Un groupe de recherche créé pour encadrer l’intelligence artificielle des robots

Une équipe de recherche basée au Royaume-Uni a lancé un projet collaboratif sur les robots autonomes, afin que dans le futur, leur fabrication réponde à un ensemble de critères éthiques, de lois et de normes de qualité.

De plus en plus de robots font preuve d’intelligence artificielle et savent se comporter sans avoir à faire appel à l’homme. Ces derniers sont développés pour les besoins de l’industrie aéronautique ou nucléaire, l’agriculture avec des drones qui analysent les récoltes ou encore, les voitures autonomes pour le grand public ou les aspirateurs robots pour la maison.

Un groupe de chercheurs des universités de Sheffield, Liverpool et Bristol ont lancé un nouveau projet pour répondre aux préoccupations autour de la robotique et à celles qui pourraient naître dans un futur proche avec le progrès des nouvelles technologies. Financé par l’Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council à hauteur d’1,4 millions de livres jusqu’en 2018, le projet vise à établir un cadre législatif et des normes industrielles pour le développement de la robotique.

Comme Google qui a déjà constitué un Comité d’Ethique pour la robotique en son sein, ces experts issus de plusieurs domaines (robotique, philosophie, biologie, etc.) vont chercher à développer les capacités des systèmes autonomes du futur à prendre des décisions fondées sur l’éthique, le droit et la sécurité. Ils vont participer également à l’élaboration de protocoles d’audits techniques de ces mêmes plateformes robotiques, afin qu’elles respectent les normes qui seront fixées.

Chaque université impliquée dans le projet a sa spécialité : Liverpool mettra l’accent sur les outils mathématique permettant d’auditer les plateformes robotiques, l’Université de Sheffield sera chargée d’encadrer l’intelligence artificielle des machines et leur apprentissage. L’Université de Bristol, quant à elle, s’occupera de la partie éthique et de la définition même de ce que sera un robot éthique.

Alan Winfield de l’Université de Bristol, un des professeurs chargés du projet et qui travaille sur les robots éthiques, explique :

• Si nous devions faire confiance aux robots, en particulier lors de nos interactions avec eux, ces derniers devront être plus que fiables. Nous avons déjà prouvé au laboratoire qu’un robot peu complexe peut être éthique, et suivre de manière étonnamment proche les fameuses lois d’Asimov. Nous devons maintenant prouver qu’un tel robot sera capable d’agir éthiquement de manière immuable, tout en cherchant à comprendre l’utilité de tels robots dans le monde réel.

Another UFO Sighting Video Taken Near A Volcano In Mexico

Another video shows a strange object traveling near central Mexico’s Popocatepetl, a volcano that recently erupted in 2013. In recent years, there have been several UFO sighting reports near the volcano. There are witnesses who recorded mysterious UFO on video and some of these have apparently shown UFOs coming in the volcano.

The most recent UFO video involving Popocatepetl volcano was uploaded on November 23 to YouTube. Epoch Times describes that the video shows a white and blurry UFO. The camera follows the mysterious object as it travels across the horizon.

The physical details of the object are very difficult to make out because of its blurriness. But it’s clear in the video that the behavior and flight path of the strange thing are smooth and straight as it seems to descend gradually. The distance of the object from the volcano and neighboring mountain range is still unknown.

It is also important to note that Popocatepetl volcano is surrounded with various airports, including the Hermanos Serdan International Airport. Skeptics believe that the mysterious flying object could be a conventional airplane about to land.

Due to hundreds of UFO sightings reported in the area, which are supported by videos and photos, Popocatepetl has become a UFO hotspot. It is widely reported that actress Shirley Maclaine even brought Australian Ambassador to the United States, Andrew Peacock, to the volcano for a UFO watching. MacLaine later revealed that they did witness various UFOs near the volcano.

De Void’s belated look at a year-and-a-half-old UFO hearing was triggered by the apparent enthusiasm from American University faculty and administrators last month over the success of a smaller but no less compelling forum in Washington, D.C. AU's key speakers — author Leslie Kean, NARCAP founder Richard Haines, and retired USAF colonel Charles Halt — were also featured at the 2013 gathering, and honors course instructor John Weiskopf expressed a desire to offer the class again. Pseudo-skeptic: How big is De Void’s kickback? A: Zero. But De Void was sent a comp after wondering whatever happened to the guy who scraped together a small fortune to create the ad hoc Center for UFO Research, which financed that 2013 symposium in Greensboro, N.C.

But audience turnout was dispiriting. Senter says the venue could’ve accommodated 2,000 people; maybe 200 showed up. Maybe he shouldn’t have scheduled it so close to Independence Day. Maybe he spent too much on cable advertising and not enough on online marketing. Maybe he could've drawn a bigger crowd if he'd booked more Little Green Men bauble vendors in the lobby.

“I wanted this to be as scientific as possible, not talking about space aliens or that kind of malarkey,” says Senter. “We can’t even get past things flying around in the sky, much less whatever may be inside these vehicles, if that’s what they are. Other countries like France and Chile are acknowledging this without it being a taboo, but we live in a culture where people still make jokes and laugh about it — and it’s got to stop.”

Senter, whose own repeated UFO encounters began when he was a kid and could fill a weird and lengthy book, had hoped his conference might create some sustaining momentum. In fact, high level representatives from two official foreign UFO research agencies — Xavier Passot of France and Jose Lay of Chile — bumped fists for the first time in North Carolina and resumed their data-sharing discussions last month in France. But the needle barely flickered on the home front.

“Oh, people still keep pointing to my conference and talking about it,” Senter concedes. “And our state director came up to me at a conference in Winston-Salem and said she’d gotten an invitation to speak about it at a community college, and that was nice to hear.”

That was Lakita Adams, director of North Carolina’s MUFON chapter, English teacher, and one-time  environmental educator with the North Carolina Zoo. Adams takes the “militant agnostic” approach to The Great Taboo, i.e., pushing no particular theory, but being persistent and public in pursuit of answers. She's been a longtime advocate for college-level engagement. But that was futile until, at the Greensboro conference, she met a Guilford Technical Community College instructor who urged her to approach GTCC admin about staging a lecture.

“It took him about 18 months to get the speaker committee to agree to it,” says Adams, who finally landed a 45-minute GTCC speaking gig in November. Maybe 100 people showed up at the auditorium, and the event was live-streamed to its other campuses. She also got an invite to speak at UNC-Wilmington next April.

“I know Kent was disappointed with the turnout in Greensboro, but I think it probably went much farther than he knows,” Adams says. “It’s difficult, especially when you know most people won’t bother to get acquainted with the good material that’s out there. But you just keep chipping away at it a little bit at a time.”

"Le cratère de Gale avait un grand lac s'étendant sur 155 km, peut-être même une série de lacs, suffisamment grands pour avoir existé il y a des millions d'années, le temps de se former, de s'assécher et entre-temps d'accumuler assez de sédiments pour former le mont Sharp", a indiqué Michael Meyer, responsable du programme Curiosity, lundi 8 décembre. "Nous pouvons ainsi répondre à deux grandes questions quant au cratère de Gale : comment s'est formé le mont Sharp et combien de temps l'eau a été présente pour permettre l'existence d'une vie microbienne", a-t-il souligné.

Un climat totalement différent de maintenant

"Nous avons examiné tout un ensemble de roches pour essayer de produire une image du passé du cratère de Gale et maintenant nous commençons à voir une représentation complète", a ajouté Sanjeev Gupta, un des membres de l'équipe scientifique. John Grotzinger, le responsable scientifique de la mission Curiosity, a expliqué que la direction d'écoulement des eaux telle qu'indiquée par la disposition des couches sédimentaires suggère que le mont Sharp, haut de 5 500 m, n'existait pas au moment où il y avait le lac. "Le mont Sharp a été formé par une série d'accumulations de sédiments et d'érosion", a-t-il dit.

Pour qu'un lac aussi vaste et des rivières aient pu exister aussi longtemps sur Mars, il a fallu que le climat soit totalement différent de ce qu'il est depuis deux milliards d'années, à savoir sec et froid. Si le modèle de la formation de mont Sharp de la Nasa est exacte, l'atmosphère martienne était alors beaucoup plus épaisse et plus chaude pour permettre à l'eau d'exister à l'état liquide, selon les scientifiques. En outre, l'atmosphère devait être très humide, ce qui pourrait aussi signifier qu'un océan générait assez d'évaporation pour produire des précipitations capables d'alimenter ce lac et les rivières.

 Warminister, Wiltshire, UK

The vast field of Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, southern England, is a stretch of verdant land steeped in history. Chile's UFO Trail

Over the past two decades residents in Chile's central district have recorded so many UFO sightings that in 2008 the town of Sam Clemente opened a "UFO trail". The 19-mile stretch weaves through the Andes mountains, whose plateaus are said to make great landing pads for the spacecraft. Even though the area has long been known as a destination for UFO sightings, the move likely had a bit more to do with
bringing in tourist dollars than it did unidentified spacecrafts. Along the trail tourists and UFO hunters alike can read signs that detail well-known sightings and visit restaurants, camping sites, hostels and cabins. And though Sernatur — the country's official tourism service — backed the initiative, it nonetheless claims, "In no way can we guarantee that a tourist coming to San Clemente will see a UFO."

Mexico City

On July 11, 1991 a total solar eclipse began over the Pacific Ocean and Hawaii, moved over Mexico and Central America and down to South America, ending in Brazil. In Mexico City, people reported seeing much more than a rare celestial event. In what has been called one of the largest mass UFO sightings ever, a number of Mexicans reported seeing a strange hovering craft as they were watching the eclipse. Sightings also apparently happened in other Mexican cities, but it's hard not to wonder whether some of these people were just seeing spots because they weren't wearing their eclipse safety glasses.

Stephenville, Texas(

Texas is a UFO hotspot in its own right, always ranking at the top of MUFON and UFORC list so that must make Stephenville TX white hot. It has been the location of one of the most incredible mass UFO sightings in the history of the USA.
In January 2008, dozens of people reported something strange hovering in the night sky. It was described as a mile-wide, silent object that flew low to the ground. Some said it moved incredibly fast. A local newspaper reporter said it had very intense, bright lights. The story later made it onto CNN's Larry King Live, which did an entire hour on the sighting. So was it life from another planet? Not so, said the U.S. Air Force a couple weeks later, explaining that ten Air Force Reserve F-16 fighter jets were the cause of the lights seen over the central Texas town. Elk River Minnesota

Know for good fishing and a lot of snow, this unremarkable city north of Minneapolis has had its share of remarkable UFO sightings. The strange happenings began in the 1990's and have not let up since.

Sightings in or near the town of Elk River, Minnesota, have made the area a UFO hot-spot, especially famous sightings and encounters in the 1990's. UFOs were often seen moving low to the ground or hovering, either silently or with a low humming sound. Strange shapes sighted have included cigar, wing, or v-shaped craft, regular old saucers, and even jellyfish shaped UFOs (as seen above left).

Colares Island, Brazil

Brazil has been in the forefront of UFO sightings in South America for decades, the government has recently made some strong efforts move UFO disclosure forward. The Colares flap refers to an outbreak of UFO sightings that occurred in 1977 on the Brazilian Island of Corales. During the outbreak, the UFOs attack left two dead and injured over 100. These sightings led to the Brazilian government dispatching a team to investigate under the codename Operation Saucer (Portuguese: Operação Prato), but the government later recalled the team and classified the files until the
late 1990s. To this day the island of Corales is still seeing UFOs but most sightings rarely make the news.

Bonnybridge, Scotland

There's something special about Bonnybridge, Scotland. Since 1992, the small town has been the sight of an unusually high number of UFO sightings. In fact, Bonnybridge lies in what UFO believers call "The Falkirk Triangle," an area of land between the cities Stirling, Fife and the outer neighborhoods of Edinburgh where people routinely report unidentified objects sailing through the sky. The Scottish
government says it receives over 300 UFO sightings from Bonnybridge and surrounding areas every year.   UFO reports have continued over the years, leading some people to believe they are real. Nullarbor Plain, Australia

"Crossing the Nullarbor", for many Australians, is a quintessential experience of the "Australian Outback". Stickers bought from roadhouses on the highway show "I have crossed the Nullarbor", and can be seen on vehicles of varying quality or capacity for long distance travel. This place first made its bones as a UFO hotspot when the British military began testing atomic bombs there in the 1950s. Since then, the extremely isolated area has become a hub of intense UFO activity. Numerous people traveling through its harsh desert reported having their cars chased by UFOs. Asteroid approaches Earth 20 times bigger than Chelyabinsk Meteor

There could be up to 10 million asteroids and meteors in the Solar System, which are 15 meters and more in diameter, and only 10,000 have been detected so far, says Anatoly Zaitsev, the General Director of the Citadel Project at the Planetary Security Center.

At the end of October Russian astronomers discovered a new cosmic body, which became known as asteroid 2014 UR116. It is 20 times larger than the Chelyabinsk meteorite. The cosmic body’s trajectory will run near Venus and Mars, and there is a possibility that its path will shift towards our planet.

According to rtbh.com -Denis Denisenko, an astronomer at Moscow State University's Astronomical Institute said: “We estimate that in the next six years it will not collide with Earth. The uncertainty of its position in space during the next encounter with Earth in October 2017 is calculated to be 1.8 million kilometers, but it is still impossible to predict the date or even the approximate place where 2014 UR116 might hit Earth but the asteroid's future encounter with Mars and Venus, can substantially change its orbit.”

Denisenko: “Asteroids of this size (about 370 meters long) are capable of causing a catastrophe, but not the end of humanity.”

Now, leading scientists and astronomers join and they are calling for more action to prevent a devastating asteroid strike.

The first stage in creating an international system for protecting the Earth from unwanted newcomers - the emergency-response stage - could be implemented within five to seven years, provided there is the political will, since we have all the necessary technologies, says Zaitsev.

Twenty organizations from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan are taking part in Citadel Project. The project involves the creation of a space observation and detection segment, two regional planetary-security centers, as well as reconnaissance and interception services.

The space segment will detect potentially dangerous objects on remote approaches to the Earth and will send to them a spy vehicle to clarify their trajectory. Then it will trigger an interceptor vehicle carrying a nuclear explosive device.

The interceptor is expected to weigh 4 tonnes and deliver a nuclear charge of 2 megatonnes. Before the conflict started in Ukraine, the plan had involved the use of Zenit carrier rockets.

"The simulation conducted in Snezhinsk showed that an asteroid with a 500-meter diameter could be destroyed by a distributed nuclear charge of 10 units, each with a 1-megatonne capacity and he reckons that prospective missile defense weapons could be used for regional protection against asteroids, but by now, the Emergency Situations Ministry has created a system for predicting possible asteroid impact sites, which will allow to warn the public about a potentially dangerous situation well beforehand" Zaitsev said.

Cosmic Glow Discovered --"Radiates More Light than All the Known Galaxies in the Universe"

December 7, 2014 - Using an experiment carried into space on a NASA suborbital rocket, astronomers at Caltech and their colleagues have detected a diffuse cosmic glow that appears to represent more light than that produced by known galaxies in the universe. Initially some researchers proposed that this light came from the very first galaxies to form and ignite stars after the Big Bang. CalTech researchers say that the best explanation is that the cosmic light originates from stars that were stripped away from their parent galaxies and flung out into space as those galaxies collided and merged with other galaxies.

  The discovery suggests that many such previously undetected stars permeate what had been thought to be dark spaces between galaxies, forming an interconnected sea of stars. "Measuring such large fluctuations surprised us, but we carried out many tests to show the results are reliable," says CalTech Fellow Michael Zemcov, who led the study. 

Although they cannot be seen individually, "the total light produced by these stray stars is about equal to the background light we get from counting up individual galaxies," says Bock, also a senior research scientist at JPL. Bock is the principal investigator of the rocket project, called the Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment, or CIBER, which originated at Caltech and flew on four rocket flights from 2009 through 2013.

In earlier studies, NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, which sees the universe at longer wavelengths, had observed a splotchy pattern of infrared light called the cosmic infrared background. The splotches are much bigger than individual galaxies. "We are measuring structures that are grand on a cosmic scale," says Zemcov, "and these sizes are associated with galaxies bunching together on a large-scale pattern."

CIBER was designed to help settle the debate. "CIBER was born as a conversation with Asantha Cooray, a theoretical cosmologist at UC Irvine and at the time a postdoc at Caltech with [former professor] Marc Kamionkowski," Bock explains. "Asantha developed an idea for studying galaxies by measuring their large-scale structure. Galaxies form in dark-matter halos, which are over-dense regions initially seeded in the early universe by inflation. Furthermore, galaxies not only start out in these halos, they tend to cluster together as well. Asantha had the brilliant idea to measure this large-scale structure directly from maps. Experimentally, it is much easier for us to make a map by taking a wide-field picture with a small camera, than going through and measuring faint galaxies one by one with a large telescope."

Cooray originally developed this approach for the longer infrared wavelengths observed by the European Space Agency's Herschel Space Observatory. "With its 3.5-meter diameter mirror, Herschel is too small to count up all the galaxies that make the infrared background light, so he instead obtained this information from the spatial structure in the map," Bock says.

"Meanwhile, I had been working on near-infrared rocket experiments, and was interested in new ways to use this unique idea to study the extragalactic background," he says. The extragalactic infrared background represents all of the infrared light from all of the sources in the universe, "and there were some hints we didn't know where it was all coming from.
