On October 11, 1973, Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker claim they were fishing off a pier on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi when they saw a UFO, were abducted by aliens, taken on their ship, subjected to experiments, and then returned to the ground. The incident has become one of the best-known and most researched alien abduction cases. Recently, Calvin Parker, who was 19 in 1973, has revealed something new – he has been experiencing visions since the alleged abduction and he’s now fearful because some of the visions are coming true

“My time here on earth is almost over, having had a lot of health problems. I would not want to leave here knowing there could be something I could do to help someone. So I will tell what I was shown that day onboard the UFO and I will try to go into as much detail as I can remember. There is a plague going on now, of course there has always been some kind of plague since the beginning of time but from what I saw this on gets even worse.”

In an interview with The Mirror, Parker, now 68, says he had a near-death experience during the abduction which has affected his health ever since. Charles Hickson was always the more revealing witness (he died in 2011), while Parker never really opened up until his book, Pascagoula – The Closest Encounter: My Story, was published in 2018. Parker’s first revelation to The Mirror is about a massive plague – it’s easy to assume he’s equating it to the current COVID-19 pandemic with references to killing millions, “family against family, friend against friend” and not trusting anyone. Sound familiar?

“Then there is going to be a great war that one side blames the other. In my vision I have seen people’s skin melt off their body. I don’t know if it’s a nuclear war or not but it puts nation against nation. There will not be a nation on Earth that is not touched by this war.”

Parker’s second vision of a “great war” comes on the heels of the escalation of the border conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Coincidence? He predicts food shortages, crop failures and water supplies being cut off as a result of this war. Both of these were caused by humans and “God is going to teach us a lesson and stay out of it before he steps back in.” That last comment may be a sign of what might really be going on in Calvin Parker’s mind – his own mortality, due to cancer and the abduction event, and his frustration with current U.S. politics.

“My personal opinion is that they [politicians] are a bunch of idiots that overlook what is best for our planet and the entire human race.”

While he says these “visions” came from his abduction, Parker makes a U-turn and doesn’t call them inevitable events – instead, he says humanity will change for the better and begin to heal “slowly but surely.” What happened to the plague and the war? He then presents the visions either as a “curse” he was given that ruined his life or as a message he’s supposed to reveal “to help save our planet or mankind.”

Something happened in 1973 that changed the life of Calvin Parker. Was it an alien abduction or a manmade event? Is Calvin Parker trying to make things right for the world … or for himself?

A few days ago I got into a debate about the theories of the late Mac Tonnies, well known for his books, After the Martian Apocalypse and The Cryptoterrestrials. It’s the latter book (and the relevant data and theories) that I’m focusing on today. I have to say that Tonnies’ The Cryptoterrestrials makes a very good, solid case with regard to his ideas and concepts. If you don’t know them, it basically like this: that the UFO phenomenon has nothing to do with extraterrestrials, but everything to do with an ancient, advanced, human society that has lived here in stealth for possibly tens of thousands of years. Maybe, even longer. And, as Mac saw it, the Cryptoterrestrials present themselves as aliens from other worlds (or even from other solar-systems) so we don’t discover their true origins. Mac was a great writer and he presented his overall story in a fashion that definitely makes food for thought. And, as I see it, many of his theories stand up. For example, he suggested the reason why the 1950s-era “Space Brothers” were so concerned about our nuclear weapons was because they were really from Earth, and not from another world, at all. In other words, if we destroyed ourselves, then the Space Brothers – really home-grown, ancient humanoids and not ETs – would be destroyed in the radioactive inferno, too.

“Giant Rock,” California and Mac Tonnies “Space Brothers”

Tonnies also focused on the matter of the black-eyed Greys of today and how the Cryptoterrestrials might be using our DNA, cells, eggs, sperm, and so on, to try and save their waning civilization – a civilization that really has its origins on Earth. In addition, he looked at the matter of the Cryptoterrestrials – carefully, stealthily and even in a creepy and sinister fashion – infiltrating our society and our cities. Let’s see a few of Mac’s own words that he made to me before his death. In terms of his theorizing, Tonnies said: “After devouring countless books on the UFO controversy and the paranormal, I began to acknowledge that the extraterrestrial hypothesis suffered some tantalizing flaws. In short, the ‘aliens’ seemed more like surreal caricatures of ourselves than beings possessing the god-like technology one might plausibly expect from interstellar visitors. Like [UFO researcher] Jacques Vallee, I came to the realization that the extraterrestrial hypothesis isn’t strange enough to encompass the entirety of occupant cases. But if we’re dealing with humanoid beings that evolved here on earth, some of the problems vanish.”

Mac had more to think on: “I envision the Cryptoterrestrials engaged in a process of subterfuge, bending our belief systems to their own ends. And I suggest that this has been occurring, in form or another, for an extraordinarily long time. I think there’s a good deal of folkloric and mythological evidence pointing in this direction, and I find it most interesting that so many descriptions of ostensible ‘aliens’ seem to reflect staged events designed to misdirect witnesses and muddle their perceptions. I regard the alleged ‘hybridization program’ with skepticism. How sure are we that these interlopers are extraterrestrial? It seems more sensible to assume that the so-called aliens are human, at least in some respects. Indeed, descriptions of intercourse with aliens fly in the face of exobiological thought. If the cryptoterrestrial population is genetically impoverished, as I assume it is, then it might rely on a harvest of human genes to augment its dwindling gene-pool. It would be more advantageous to have us believe we’re dealing with omnipotent extraterrestrials, rather than a fallible sister species. The ET-UFO mythos may be due, in part, to a long-running and most successful disinformation campaign.”

Only a model, but it captures the atmosphere!

As I see it, Mac worked out his theory pretty good (and granted, yes, it was just a theory). There is one part of the story, however, that I can’t buy into – or, at least, not to a 100 percent degree. Here’s why: one of the things Mac suggested was that the Cryptotererstrials were only seen now and then  (and that went for their craft, too) because for most of the time they lived underground. This is where my doubts come in. Of course, for centuries tales of strange entities among us  can be placed in that category – and living below the surface of our world – abound. Fairies, “the little people,” Richard Shaver, the “Dulce Base” controversy, and more. Is it feasible that an entire ancient civilization would be able to hide underground? And, even more importantly, what about not being seen coming in and out of huge entry and exit places – and maybe on every continent? That’s where I feel Mac stretched things to a degree – maybe a significant degree. I can see aliens stealthily entering our solar-system – and our atmosphere, too – and not being seen. But, ship after ship soaring out of large tunnels that clearly no-one has ever found? If someone showed me some kind of proof of massive, high-tech, underground worldwide caverns, caves and underground bases I wouldn’t just be impressed. I would be beyond impressed.

In short: if the Cryptoterrestrials (and their craft) are from the Earth’s underground, then they surely would be seen like a missile exiting a military missile silo – here, there and everywhere and 24/7, too. But, that’s not what we’re seeing. Yes, we see UFOs all the time. Do we see them coming out of the ground over and over again? Nope. And that’s a key issue. I like Mac’s theory of an ancient humanoid race – one that looks somewhat like us and that is infiltrating us. But, the underground aspect? No.

In 1953, the most famous UFO Contactee, George Adamski, gave a number of lectures in the Los Angeles area, stating that his data on UFOs and aliens had “all been cleared with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Air Force Intelligence.” It most definitely had not been cleared. Personnel from both the FBI and the Air Force heard of this and descended on Adamski, warning him to quit his crap. For a while, Adamski did exactly what he was told to do: Stop! Unfortunately for Adamski, he was a magnet for publicity and praise. So, yet again he told his foaming fans he had supporters in the FBI and the Air Force. That the FBI had agents sitting in every lecture Adamski ever gave in California in the fifties, meant that Hoover’s finest were getting more and more frustrated and angrier by the day. They made a decision: they paid Adamski another visit. Whereas on the first occasion Adamski was “warned” to stop, on the next occasion, as the now-declassified reports show, the FBI “severely admonished” him for all of his extra-terrestrial idiocy. The FBI demanded that Adamski would never, ever again make such claims about the military and the FBI. To ensure that, one of the FBI agents whipped out an official document they demanded Adamski sign. He did. One of the agents signed it too, as did a somewhat bemused Air Force officer who thought the whole thing was a farce of epic proportions. Surely that would have made Adamski get the message. It didn’t. The man who claimed to have met 1960s-era hippy-looking aliens was about to find himself in a bucketful of serious shit with a band of unsmiling G-Men.

Declassified into the public domain by the U.S. Freedom of Information Act (and free for anyone to read and use) is just one page of Adamski’s 300-pages-plus FBI file.

It was roughly nine months further down the line when the FBI’s Los Angeles office received a visit from a representative of the L.A. Better Business Bureau. Staff of the BBB were concerned that Adamski’s 1953 book Flying Saucers Have Landed (co-written with Desmond Leslie) was one big scam. One way or another, their staff was determined to get the answers. One of the BBB went knocking on Adamski’s door. The whole story of alien encounters was true, Adamski said earnestly to the man. It’s hardly surprising that the BBB was having none of this book of lies and exaggerations. Adamski hit back by saying his book was endorsed by the U.S. government. To prove this, Adamski pulled out of his pocket a document that had a “blue seal in the lower left corner, at the top of which appeared the names of three Government agents,” as the FBI described things. One of those names was attached to an Air Force officer. Two were of FBI agents. Incredibly, and recklessly, what Adamski had shown to the BBB employee was actually that document Adamski had been ordered to sign some nine months earlier, at the order of the FBI. Worse still for Adamski, he had altered the document. He’d taken real FBI paperwork, fiddled around with it, and changed it for his benefit. This was the last straw for the men in black suits. An FBI summary of this run-around, of December 16, 1953 reads:

“[Deleted] instructed Willis to call on Adamski at the Palomar Gardens Café, Valley Center, California. (This is located five miles east of Rincon, California, near the Mount Palomar Observatory.) Willis was told to have the San Diego agents, accompanied by representatives of OSI if they care to go along, call on Adamski and read the riot act in no uncertain terms pointing out he has used this document in a fraudulent, improper manner, that this Bureau has not endorsed, approved, or cleared his speeches or book, that he knows it, and the Bureau will simply not tolerate any further foolishness, misrepresentations, and falsity on his part. Willis was told to instruct the Agents to diplomatically retrieve, if possible, the document in issue from Adamski. Willis said he would do this and send in a report at once.” Adamski was very lucky he didn’t end up with some degree of jail-time. Maybe, that would have given him even more publicity, something both the FBI and the Air Force were extremely keen and careful to avoid. That Adamski had the wrath of God put into him finally ensured that his document-doctoring days were over. And, by the late-1950s, Adamski’s “career” as a ufological guru began to tail off. He lived until 1965, by which time many people in Ufology had dismissed the man and his wacky, “I flew to Venus”-style pseudo-science.

A couple of days ago I wrote here at Mysterious Universe on why, in my opinion, the 1950s-era “Space Brothers” should not have been trusted. Not only that, I briefly highlighted the work of the late writer Mac Tonnies, who suspected that the Space Brothers may not have been aliens at all, but were possibly from right here on our planet. In other words, Tonnies pondered on the possibility that the Space Brothers were, collectively, an ancient human society that has the power to move among us in stealth. Just before he died, Mac Tonnies gave me this piece of artwork as a gift. A Cryptoterrestrial and not an Extraterrestrial?

Yes, they could move among us, but if you looked at them too close you would see there was something very strange about them. With that said, let’s look at these “slightly different ones,” as I put it. It occurs to me that the Men in Black and the Women in Black just might be Cryptoterrestrials. Consider this: they look like us, but take a nearer look and you’ll see their skin often has a plastic-like appearance to it. Their eyes bulge. And you’ll see them wearing wigs and wraparound sunglasses. All of that suggests that the MIB and the WIB just might be examples of what at least some of the Cryptoterrestrials look like.

They’re just not quite right

Author and UFO researcher Denise Stoner told me of a very strange experience she had some years ago: “My Mom and I had gone to the mall on Christmas Eve for a couple of last minute stocking stuffer type gifts.  We actually knew what we wanted so parked outside J.C. Penney’s on the side where those goods were. We went in and immediately noticed that in late afternoon, there were only a few shoppers. We picked out our gifts and got in line at the cashier in back of two other people. We could easily see the exit door and the sun in the parking lot, we were facing that way. The glass doors opened and two very tall, thin women entered. They had long almost waist length blond hair parted in the middle on top and it was thin in texture. Their skin was also pale and I did not notice any make up but each had huge piercing blue eyes.” Over the years, Denise has had run-in with these not-quite-normal characters.

Now, onto a strange saga that went down in early 1967. The location: Melville, New York. It involved a rancher whose farm was located in a rural, isolated part of town. Only days before he received a most unwelcome visit, the man saw a definitive flying saucer hovering over one of his fields, and which – somewhat amazingly – had what was described as a “ladder” hanging from its underside. At least, until the ladder was hastily retracted and the saucer shot away, high into the sky, and vanished from view. That was hardly the end of the matter, however. Just a few days later, the man heard a knock at the door. Given that his home was in the middle of pretty much nowhere, he opened the door both slowly and cautiously. Stood before him was a “Gypsy lady” who was dressed in a gray dress that reached her ankles and who wore sandals. Just like so many of the Men in Black, her skin was noted for its deep, olive complexion, and her eyes were described as “Oriental.” The rancher added that she stood around five-feet and four inches tall, and had long hair that was “so black” it “looked dyed.” And, finally…

Hats and Darkness: perfect camouflage for a Cryptoterrestrial

It was a wintry, freezing, and dark Saturday afternoon in the latter part of January 1987 and a man named Bruce Lee – who worked as a senior editor at a New York publishing house, William Morrow & Co. – walked into a bookstore on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It was the now- closed-down Womrath’s, on Lexington Avenue. Also with Lee was his wife. It turns out that William Morrow & Co. had then very recently published Whitley Strieber’s New York Times’ bestseller, Communion – a book that told of Strieber’s very own and deeply personal encounters of the so-called “alien abduction” variety. Womrath’s had a large display set up for Communion and they also stocked a couple of Lee’s own books. Quite naturally, Lee, who had also worked for Reader’s Digest and Newsweek, was curious to see how both of the displays looked. At this point, Lee and his wife parted and she headed off to the fiction section.

Lee’s attention was suddenly drawn to a strange couple that entered the store. In his own words, the pair headed “directly for Communion.” He explained: “I mean, it was just, you could see them come in – they didn’t know where the book was, you couldn’t see it from the street – and they came in and headed right back for where that rack was. Most unusual, if you see what I mean.” Yes, we do.  That was not the only unusual thing about that fateful, Saturday afternoon. Both the man and the woman were barely five feet in height – maybe even slightly smaller. They had scarves that covered their chins, hats pulled tightly down, and huge, black sunglasses. They also appeared to begin speed-reading the book, noting out loud – one might even suggest for Lee’s benefit – where Strieber had “got this wrong” and “got that wrong.” They also giggled in a strange, unsettling fashion. We’ve seen that before, too. Quite naturally, given that he worked for the very publisher that had just released Communion, Lee walked over and asked the pair what was wrong with the book. The woman suddenly looked up, at which point Lee was able to see through her sunglasses that her eyes were not just large, but huge, and shaped like almonds. Lee, by his own admission, felt the hackles on the back of his neck rise, and got a “mad dog”” feeling emanating from the woman. He was likely not wrong when he observed: “I got to feeling that I was in eyeball contact with somebody who did not like me at all.”

Could all of these slightly strange characters be prime examples of Mac Tonnies’ Cryptoterrestrials? Perhaps, that’s exactly what they were.

Will aliens invade our planet this year? A surprising 14% of people say yes. A new survey conducted by Ipsos asked more than 22,000 adults in 33 different countries what their predictions are for 2022 and the results are quite interesting to say the least.

The majority of people have high hopes for this year as 77% of those surveyed said that they are optimistic 2022 will be better for them than 2021 was, while 61% of people believe the global economy will be stronger than last year. As for 2021, 77% of people said that it was a bad year for their country, and 58% admitted that it wasn’t a good year for them or their family.

In regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, a little more than half of those polled (56%) believe that at least 80% of the world’s population will get at least one vaccine this year.

When asked if there will be more extreme weather in their country this year compared to 2021, 60% said yes. A surprising 45% of those polled believe that less people will choose to fly compared to 2019.

As for society getting back to a somewhat state of normalcy, 71% of people say that their city centers will become busy again as more people will get back to working in their offices on a more permanent basis. On the other hand, a rather small percentage of those surveyed (28%) believe that people in their country will become more tolerant of each other – this percentage included a whopping 83% of people living in China, but only 9% of those in France.

A little more than 40% of people surveyed have confidence that the stock market will be stable this year; although there is a lot of worry regarding rising prices with 75% of people thinking that the prices will increase faster than their income.

As for aliens invading our planet, 14% of pollsters believe that will happen – interestingly, that percentage includes nearly a third of those living in India. While that may be a surprising percentage, it is quite low compared to other scary events – 39% think that a natural disaster will affect a major city in their country; 38% say that foreign government hackers will cause a global IT shutdown; 34% believe nuclear weapons will be used in a conflict somewhere in the world; 27% say that a rogue artificial intelligence program won’t be able to be shut down; and 16% think an asteroid will hit our planet.

All in all, people are remaining optimistic that 2022 will be a better year than 2021, with a stronger global economy and more people getting vaccinated. But there are some concerns as well, such as rising prices and more extreme weather events. Not to mention aliens invading our planet.

In January of 1996, a number of people in Varginha, Brazil, claimed to have witnessed a UFO and encountered one or more extraterrestrials. As the story spread, there were reports the Brazilian military had captured two ETs and the news was picked up by the mainstream media, including The Wall Street Journal in the U.S. While the incident and the eyewitness account by three female witnesses inspired a local disc-shaped water reservoir and tourist sites catering to the story, the military and the Brazilian government have never confirmed the UFO nor the aliens. That may change after this week when a man came forward claiming he was a soldier in 1996, participated in the capture of the aliens and was in very close proximity to one of them.

A sign a city loves its ETs and UFOs

UFO researcher and reporter Edison Bonaventura interviewed Saulo José Machado and posted the video (watch it here in Portuguese) on his Enigmas e Mistérios (Riddles and Mysteries) YouTube channel. Portal Vigilia reviewed the video in Portuguese and Google provided the English translation of this interesting account by Machado – who claims he was a low-ranking junior soldier in January 1996 when his life was changed forever by a trip with other soldiers from his base in Belo Horizonte in southeastern Brazil to Varginha for an undisclosed operation. Make that an unusual operation too – the first thing they noticed was that they were carrying rifles with no ammunition in them. While sweeping the area where they were dropped off, he claims two other soldiers came out of the woods carrying a strange being.

“The first thing that caught my attention was the very large head. The head is completely disproportionate to the body. And a very big red eye. And then, in those 10 or so seconds that I had to observe it, I noticed that it was quite oily. Dark, a reddish more iron-colored, but very oily, and a weird smell that reminded me of acetone.” (Google translation)

In the video, Machado holds up his drawing of the creature and claims he was within five feet of it. His description of it sounds similar to the accounts of the three women, who estimated it to be five feet tall with a large head, large red eyes, thin body, V-shaped feet and brown skin. The mother of two of the girls went to the area and smelled a strong ammonia-like odor. There were reports of a second creature being found by soldiers two days later (Machado claims he was there a day or so after January 20th when the women saw it) as well as other accounts of a UFO crashing and being retrieved by soldiers, who ordered people in the area to say nothing. Some people claimed the two ‘aliens’ were taken to a medical clinic before being removed by the military. A detailed account of the numerous reports was made in on the 20th anniversary in 2016 by South of Minas (read it here).

Varginha without aliens and UFOs

Edison Bonaventura seems to consider Saulo José Machado to be a credible military witness to what would, if real, be Brazil’s Roswell incident. The local police response was that the young women saw “a citizen known as Mudinho, who probably has some mental disability and whose physical characteristics matched the description (…) make it likely that the hypothesis that this citizen, probably being dirty, due to the heavy rains and seen crouching by a wall, was mistaken by the three terrified girls as a space creature.” They say the military and emergency vehicles were actually there to be repaired, and the military claimed that the two ‘creatures’ were most likely an expectant local couple who were dwarfs.

A military witness to UFOs and a ‘shadow person’ at a U.S. Air Force nuclear base came forward this week. Are more military witnesses to UFOs and ETs revealing their stories now that the stigma and the consequences are diminishing? Will this encourage the Brazilian authorities to open the files on the Varginha UFO Incident?

We’ll see.
