Remnants of Ancient Life Found in a 2.5-Billion-Year-Old Ruby
In a first-of-its kind discovery, remains of ancient life has been found in a 2.5-billion-year-old ruby that formed in the Earth’s crust. According to geologists, the ruby contained pure carbon called graphite that was probably biological in nature as the remnants of an ancient organism that was around prior to multicellular life evolving on our planet.
Rubies are a popular gemstone in jewelry but how they form is very interesting as they are created from extreme pressure and heat in Earth’s tectonic boundaries. They are a form of the mineral corundum which is a crystalline type of aluminum oxide. The redder the ruby, the more chromium it contains.

Chris Yakymchuk, who is a geologist at the University of Waterloo in Canada, as well as his colleagues, wanted to study the corundum formation process so they decided to analyze rubies that are found in Greenland. In fact, Greenland has some of the oldest ruby deposits in the world.
While studying the rubies, the team discovered the graphite inclusion and were able to determine that the stone contained a lot of carbon-12 which indicated that it was organic. “The graphite inside this ruby is really unique. It’s the first time we’ve seen evidence of ancient life in ruby-bearing rocks,” Yakymchuk explained, adding, “The presence of graphite also gives us more clues to determine how rubies formed at this location, something that is impossible to do directly based on a ruby’s color and chemical composition.”
He went on to say, “Living matter preferentially consists of the lighter carbon atoms because they take less energy to incorporate into cells.” “Based on the increased amount of carbon-12 in this graphite, we concluded that the carbon atoms were once ancient life, most likely dead microorganisms such as cyanobacteria.”

Their discovery revealed valuable information regarding how the rubies were formed in the first place as corundum can’t form when there is an overwhelming amount of silica in the environment. Since there was graphite present, it seems to indicate that there was once some fluid there that would have aided in getting rid of some of the silicon dioxide that was in the rock. At that point, the corundum would have been able to form.

The effort, referred to as the Rockefeller Imitative included meetings between Rockefeller and senior Clinton administration staff. In these famous pictures of Hillary and Laurance Rockefeller she is holding Paul Davies book “Are We Alone?” Philosophical Implications of the Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life. Amazon describes the book as: “The authentic discovery of extraterrestrial life would usher in a scientific revolution on par with Copernicus or Darwin, says Paul Davies. Just as these ideas sparked religious and philosophical controversy when they were first offered, so would proof of life arising away from Earth.”
Paul Davies is a theoretical physicist, cosmologist, astrobiologist, at Arizona State University. He is currently director of the Beyond Center of Fundamental Concepts in Science. The book confirms Hillary’s interest in extraterrestrial life and may have helped her qualify to be Secretary of State.

The subject was not an uncommon one for the White House at the time. That Christmas, Bill Clinton gave a speech in Belfast, in which he described letters he’d gotten from schoolchildren. He thanked a 13-year-old named Ryan for his letter and did his best to answer Ryan’s question. “No,” Clinton said, “an alien spacecraft did not crash in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. And Ryan, if the United States Air Force did recover alien bodies, they didn’t tell me about it, either, and I want to know.”
Podesta started as deputy chief of staff for Clinton in 1997 and stayed with the president until the inauguration of George W. Bush. He himself was obsessed with aliens. In 1998, The Post quoted Press Secretary Mike McCurry. “John can get totally maniacal and phobic on certain subjects,” McCurry said. “He’s been known to pick up the phone to call the Air Force and ask them what’s going on in Area 51.”

After Clinton left the White House, Podesta’s advocacy continued. In 2002, he spoke at the National Press Club to encourage the government to release whatever information it had about investigations into unidentified flying objects.
Leslie Kean, who wrote a book called “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record” — with a forward from Podesta — explained that effort in 2015.
It’s apparently those documents to which Podesta was referring when, after a brief stint working in the Obama White House, he tweetedthat failing to secure the release of UFO files was his my “biggest failure.
Stop Tornadoes with Weather Modification

The National Weather Service indicates there has been 1336 tornadoes as of October 11, 2021, so far this year in the United States in 2016, killing thirteen people and causing twenty-four billion dollars destroying thousands of homes and schools. More than 18,000 people died in tornadoes in the U.S. from 1875 to 2000. It is my opinion that the government has the aircraft and facilities to curtail this slaughter.
A United Nations Treaty exists which pledges all member states to refrain from using Weather Control as a lethal weapon upon other states! The existence of this recorded law — this U.N. Treaty — proves the existence of the reality of Weather Warfare or weather modification! We now believe that American and Chinese, Russian scientists can and do control our weather. The lack of rain on the West Coast appears to be created by Chinese weather Control with their six HARP Facilities.
China launched the world’s largest weather-control machine, with the ability to modify the weather in an area similar to the size of Alaska in 2018 and nuclear capable hypersonic world circling missile ahead of US capability to defeat.
They can and do create much of the disturbances seen in nature for at least the past several decades. How many times have you heard the meteorologist say the weather is unusual? The Chinese, in August of 2008, used 37,000 people to seed clouds aiming for a dry Olympics. Hundreds of teams used anti-aircraft guns to shoot shells of silver iodide into approaching cloud masses and kept Beijing dry.

During the Vietnam War in 1968, I was an intelligence briefing officer for General George S. Brown. The 7th Air Force had a program known as Project Popeye that attempted to extend the monsoon season in order to increase the amount of mud on the Ho Chi Minh trail, thereby reducing enemy movements. A silver iodide nuclei agent was dispersed from two C-130s two F-4s, and A-1E aircraft into the clouds over the trail winding from North Vietnam into South Vietnam. Positive results during this initial program led to continued operations from 1967 to 1972. Some scientists believe it resulted in a significant reduction in the enemy’s ability to bring supplies into South Vietnam.
The National Severe Storms Laboratory NSSL Site Information – NOAA’s reports, “The most destructive and deadly tornadoes occur from super cells, which are rotating thunderstorms with a well-defined radar circulation called a mesocyclone. (Super cells can also produce damaging hail, severe non-tornadic winds, unusually frequent lightning, and flash floods.) Tornado formation is believed to be dictated mainly by things which happen on the storm scale, in and around the mesocyclone.”

The actual tornado early in its track is located in the southern reddest hook near the bottom of the image.
Recent theories and results from the VORTEX 2 program suggest that once a mesocyclone is underway, tornado development is related to the temperature differences across the edge of downdraft air wrapping around the mesocyclone. Studies of tornado formation also indicate that it can happen with very little temperature variation observed near some of the most destructive tornadoes in history on 3 May 1999.
Storm spotters look for low bands of ragged bands of low cumulus clouds extending from the main storm tower usually to the southeast or south. The presence of inflow bands suggests that the storm is gathering low-level air from several miles away. If the inflow bands have a spiraling nature to them, it suggests the presence of rotation.
The beaver’s tail is a smooth, flat cloud band extending from the eastern edge of the rain-free base to the east or northeast. It usually skirts around the southern edge of the precipitation area. It also suggests the presence of rotation. (Possible attack point) A wall cloud is an isolated cloud lowering attached to the rain-free base of the thunderstorm. The wall cloud is usually to the rear of the visible precipitation area. A wall cloud that may produce a tornado usually exists for 10–20 minutes before a tornado appears. A wall cloud may also persistently rotate (often visibly), have strong surface winds flowing into it, and may have rapid vertical motion indicated by small cloud elements quickly rising into the rain-free base. As the storm intensifies, the updraft draws in low-level air from several miles around. Some low-level air is pulled into the updraft from the rain area. This rain-cooled air is very humid; the moisture in the rain-cooled air quickly condenses below the rain-free base to form the wall cloud. (Possible attack point)
The rear flank downdraft (RFD) is a downward rush of air on the backside of the storm that descends along with the tornado. The RFD looks like a “clear slot” or “bright slot” just to the rear (southwest) of the wall cloud. It can also look like curtains of rain wrapping around the cloud base circulation. The RFD causes gusty surface winds that occasionally have embedded downbursts. The rear flank downdraft is the motion in the storm that causes the hook echo feature on radar. (Possible attack point)
A condensation funnel is made up of water droplets and extends downward from the base of the thunderstorm. If it is in contact with the ground it is a tornado; otherwise, it is a funnel cloud. Dust and debris beneath the condensation funnel confirm a tornado’s presence. NSSL is working to simulate storms that produce tornadoes in computer models to better understand how they form and behave. The Air Force could gain tremendous support from the American people if they could calm Tornadoes and flooding.
A C-5 Galaxy aircraft can carry a standard: payload of 240,000 pounds of dry ice or chemicals that could serious effect a mesocyclone. Maximum payload capacity of the C-17 is 170,900 pounds with a service ceiling of 45,000 feet. Active or National Guard or Reserve aircraft could be fitted to drop the chemicals. UAV or Remote piloted aircraft may be ideal stationed at Eglin Air Force Base Florida and Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. Dyess Air Force Base, Texas would also be a good location. By cross-referencing desired attack times with wind and thunderstorm forecasts from weather satellites, we can predict tornadoes and tame them before they cause major damage. A central weather control would generate mission profiles for each aircraft. American Airlines pilots spotted a “long, cylindrical” UFO” moving really fast” over New Mexico. “It almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing.” American Airlines pilots encountered a strange UFO over New Mexico. The “long, cylindrical object” looked like a “cruise missile type of thing,” one pilot said in a leaked radio transmission. American Airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration have confirmed the encounter, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is also aware of the report, but the nature of the UFO remains a mystery. An American Airlines flight crew encountered an unidentified flying object over New Mexico on February 21. American Airlines has confirmed the strange incident, during which a “long, cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile” zipped over the Airbus A320, according to a pilot’s transmission obtained by The War Zone. American Airlines Flight 2292 was in route from Cincinnati to Phoenix on Sunday afternoon when it came into contact with the mysterious object at 37,000 feet over northeastern New Mexico. Radio interceptor Steve Douglass captured Flight 2292’s transmission on the Albuquerque Center frequency of 127.850 MHz or 134.750 MHz

“Do you have any targets up here? We just had something go right over the top of us. I hate to say this, but it looked like a long, cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing—moving really fast right over the top of us.”

American Airlines Flight 2292 safely landed in Phoenix shortly after the encounter. American Airlines later confirmed with The War Zone the validity of the transmission: Following a debrief with our Flight Crew and additional information received, we can confirm this radio transmission was from American Airlines Flight 2292 on Feb. 21. For any additional questions on this, we encourage you to reach out to the FBI.
When TMZ reached out to the FBI, spokesperson Frank Fisher said the Bureau is “aware of the reported incident.” He continued: “While our policy is to neither confirm nor deny investigations, the FBI works continuously with our federal, state, local, and tribal partners to share intelligence and protect the public.” The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also released a short statement confirming the encounter: A pilot reported seeing an object over New Mexico shortly after noon local time on Sunday,Feb. 21, 2021. FAA air traffic controllers did not see any object in the area on their radarscopes.

The New York Police Department waved the white flag last week — upon orders to surrender from Albany Democrat’s directing officers to let drug addicts freely shoot up on city streets, and even let them share needles. Drugs bring in billions of dollars that often ends up in the hands of politicians, therefore the police are told in many cities and blue states allow the illegal immigrants to bring in the drugs from Mexico to our cities and don’t interfere with the drugs or dealers. . Expect about a hundred thousand to die this year.

In New York hospitals, you can find premature newborn babies surrounded by dedicated doctors and nurses fighting to save their lives. New York and New Jersey , Pennsylvania, and California took infected people in hospitals and put them into Nursing Homes to kill another 10,000 old people in each state. California Object
Los Angeles–on September 15, 2021, we stepped outside, and I noticed something bright and metallic looking hovering. I watched it for a few seconds then I started filming when the object changed shape/spin or turn/flash in its same spot. I called the kids over so they could look at it too. We could easily tell that it was a silent UFO. The object appeared not to have a definite shape and “flashed” at times. The object eventually slowly moved towards the east and then we couldn’t see it anymore.
Note:I agree with the witness. I don’t believe that the object is a plane, helicopter, balloon, or drone. The flashing could be the object reflecting the Sun while turning on its axis?
Colorado Object
Littleton– on October 8, 2021, something is falling in sky then something darting away from it on the left-hand side and there is some weird craft in the bottom right corner of the second photo.
Note:It is difficult to say what the object in the above photo is. It could be a bird and may be much closer to the lens than the contrail. However, it also could be an aircraft. The witness is referencing a streak on the left-hand side of the first photo. This looks to be another aircraft contrail. The photo above is the second photo. Florida Light
Miami– October 6, 2021, my family and I were on vacation on July 1. 2021, we stayed at a hotel on the ocean beach. At 12 am we were on the balcony, on the 24th floor and noticed bright light in the distant night sky. I pulled out my phone and started to record, triangular shaped object in multi colors. It stayed in same place, but it looked as if it was continuously changing shapes. It was not an airplane or star.
Paisley– on October 2, 2021, around 10:30 pm we were driving NE and saw a craft descending over the treetop NE. I saw eight lights on all the corners. There was what looked like a cabin on the other side in the back. We followed until we had to turn but went down another road to try to find it, but it was gone. When we got home my fully charged phone was only 1%.

Louisville– on October 7, 2021, I was riding in the passenger seat at 10:20pm and I saw a purplish flash of lightning no rain and then I saw an object moving in a zigzag pattern and I snapped a picture as it disappeared. I shot a white egg-shaped orb with a pattern on it.
Missouri Light
Mexico– on July 17, 2021, observed three fast moving spheres in a straight line that were reflecting orange light from the sunset but as they flew overhead, they were all solid black at equal distance apart. Took photo of last one.
New Jersey Object
Jersey City – October 9, 2021, UAP (UFO) was found in the photo after it was taken. The UAP was over a portion of New Jersey close to NYC. Upon zooming into the photo, a UAP can be seen.
Medford– October 15, 2021, while standing on our deck, we noticed something hovering with flashing green and red lights. After 30 seconds it took off in a southerly direction then came to a complete stop and briefly and then flew south fast.
New Mexico Lights
Rio Ranchos – on October 8, 2021, the UFOs could have been commercial aircraft with blinking lights, but they were traveling too close to each other, spaced equidistant from each other as they flew across the sky, and too slow and close to be a commercial aircraft. Since they seemed low, I would have heard engine noise.
New York Light
Belfast– on September 17, 2021, this was taken by a game trail camera and looks to be about eighty yards in front of the cam. Some people said they saw a light come down in that area.
Note: I suspect that the object in the photo is an insect. The waviness is due to the movement of the insect. However, the camera shutter speed was 1/15 seconds which is quick exposure for a camera in a dark setting. The insect was quite close to the camera lens. North Dakota Lights
Grand Forks on October 15, 2021, I have reported this very same object back on August 1st. This time the tic tac vehicle appeared to be ejected from a boomerang. It was dull metallic grey, round edges, and a rectangular shaped body. It had two larger crab like landing legs underneath toward the front. The boomerang craft was in a translucent cloaked field that flickered. I noticed the bright six lights above the hub building. I started to feel nervous and warm. I took a picture of the larger craft. The smaller craft started to slowly descend and hover. My necklace, earning’s, and hand ring started to pull away from my body with resistance. I blinked and braced my-self, the boomerang craft was gone.

Portland – on April 10, 2017, I was out for a walk when I happened to glance up when I saw the bright star-like dot. So, I decided to grab my Nikon D3200 with a 55 to 300mm lens’ and take a few pictures. I showed this photo to my parents and a few moments later when I went outside again the bright ‘star’ was gone.

Jefferson City – on October 10, 2021, I’m visiting from Florida and I’m in the back of the car I took this picture of a dark object. I also have three other people in the car, and we all saw this.

Khaddar –on October 12, 2021, I was watching the Documentary on Netflix called “Turning Point “about 911 and the war in Afghanistan. In Season 1 episode five called “Graveyard of Empires” there is a scene with a shot of the Afghanistan mountains. I videoed a triangular object flying across the mountain range and back in less than a second.

Maudsland— on October 12, 2021, first I saw the brightest star I’ve ever seen, thought it was an evening star, then when I filmed and zoomed in it was a pulsating white light that changed to green to red then white, then it changed to a round spinning disc.
Canada Object
Stratford– on August 23, 2021, while taking pictures of hummingbirds in my backyard, I noticed a rainbow, so I was trying to shoot the rainbow when I saw a dark object to the right. I zoomed in and took some pictures of the object. The green color was a surprise as well as the shape. Pictures taken with my Canon SLR lens EFS55-250mm zoomed to it.

Las Palmas– on October 9, 2021, I was watching video from live volcano coverage at Las Palmas and all the sudden a rod flashes across the screen. Then seven seconds later a larger one appears. You’ll find them at 2:50 and 2:57.

Tengiz– on January 22, 2015, I was taking long-exposure photos outside my project office as frost covered everything. Being from Texas, I wanted to get some photos. I used a tripod taking long-exposure shots. After looking at them either that night I noticed two of the photos had this little “something” in the upper right-hand corner. I always joked about it being some type of UFO.
Fast forward to last night (Oct 11, 2021) and I am watching the first season of Ancient Aliens, episode five. Towards the end of the episode an image was put on the screen that I have since learned was the photo taken by William Van Horn in Hillsdale Michigan in 1966. these two photos I had taken in 2015 in Kazakhstan. The attached images are: 1) the photo I saw on Ancient Aliens of Williams Van Horns that was claimed to be “swamp gas”. My photos do not have the appearance of a flare around the image in the way that Van Horn’s photo does. But the shape is all but identical. Again, the photos were taken 49 years apart.

Guaragueta, Soria– on October 10, 2021, a friend while traveling in Spain, took several photos of the landscape in a very small Town near Cubo de la Sierra). While taking this photo, she didn’t notice anything strange. Only after checking the photos taken, this one called her attention. It shows a disc moving upward and leaving a “trace of itself”, sort of trail…

Dorset– on October 10, 2021, saw a fast black triangle as we have lots of sightings recorded on my iPhone. But we get lights orbs every night. Day time we see a few triangles. We have another video of two of them racing. I have never been able to clean them up. he photos up.

Guys, when I first looked at this raw video, I thought I mistakenly thought it was a balloon, but when I made a close up sceenshot of the object, I realized this is not a balloon at all. This object is thin, metallic and not wrinkled, like a deflated balloon would be. Also there is a pointed back end, but its not a string, its actually part of the hull of the object. This is a upside-down bell UFO. Such UFO have been seen a lot and this one is unique in that its relatively thin. Absolutely mind-blowing catch. Awesome video of it showing its movement as it watches the eyewitness below. This is an alien probe, unmanned and autonomous. Wow, just wow!

This is very interesting. This eyewitness in France took a photo of a metallic disk over a hill. The object appears a little blurry around it, which is often said to be caused by the propulsion system of the UFO itself. I believe the UFO was watching the people below, but may have come from an underground base 5km below the surface. The underground alien bases don't have permanent tunnels, but instead, automatically compress an opening and close them when finished, but can sometimes cause small quakes in the area. Undeniable proof that aliens are in France.

Today as I was digging through the NASA archives I found an old photo with structures. The photo is of the surface of planet Mercury and there are some interesting structures in it. One structure really stands out in detail, shape and color. It's at the center of a crater and has many right angles, similar to how humans might make a base on an alien planet.
You think the structure looks small, but its not. The crater its in is 50km across! That makes this structure 20 km across and 4km tall...now do I have your attention? That big! How did I get those measurements? Easy, the crater nearest it is Atget crater (click to see stats on it) and scientists say it's 100km across. This helped tremendously.
There are also many other structures, one huge...I would estimate to be 45km across and 10km tall! Its blue and crystal shaped. You can't miss it. It stands out like a sour thumb.
Scientists have suggested there are places on Mercury that are dark enough, and thus cold enough, to sustain water ice.

While most songs have a 1:1 beat structure with the notes being of the same length, Queen’s “We Will Rock You” has a 1:2 ratio where some notes are twice as long as the others – specifically, the short-short-long pattern of stomps and claps. Mastering that rhythm was thought to be something only humans and a few birds (the nightingale thrush is one) could do until Chiara De Gregorio, a primatologist at Italy’s University of Turin went to the rainforests of Madagascar to study the critically endangered primate known as the indri (Indri indri) or singing lemur – one of the world’s largest lemurs. Their singing was well known – their loud songs can last up to three minutes and are a form of communication or warning signals – but it was thought to be random. De Gregorio and her team discovered otherwise.
“Since indris’ songs are composed of notes that are organized in phrases, they were very good candidates to understand if indris would share the same categorical rhythms that are typical of human music.”

De Gregorio explains in Inverse (and in a study published in Current Biology) how the researchers recorded indris singing in the wild, measured the intervals between the lemur’s musical notes, then “calculated the ratios between two subsequent notes by dividing each onset for its duration plus the duration of the following one.” They were shocked to find the lemurs using the 1:2 ration because “aspects of human musicality rare in other species.”
“Finding in indris [a] musical universal may indicate that human music is not truly novel, but its intrinsic musical properties are more deeply rooted in the primate lineage than previously thought.”
Does the band need a horn section?
Is this a “Planet of the Apes” moment that will lead to singing lemurs taking over the music charts? Hardly. In fact, there’s no chance a million of them working together could compose Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “We Will Rock You” because the indri are so critically endangered – there are less than 10,000 in the wild on Madagascar. De Gregorio hopes her work can help save the indri from extinction. Maybe what she needs is a singing lemur cheer.

On June 29, 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act into law, authorizing the construction of 41,000 miles of the Interstate Highway System to provide access between U.S. military bases in the event of a war with the Soviet Union and its allies. Fortunately, the main benefit of the interstate system was to fuel the growth of the United States geographically and economically, but the military is now thinking about the need for another superhighway system to protect the U.S. against new enemies … in space. Who will build this space superhighway? The Space Force, of course!

Space Uber driver?
Speaking last week at a National Defense Transportation Association seminar on space logistics, Space Force Brigadier General John Olson warned the audience that China is his perceived enemy in space based on their activities recently with a lunar rover on the Moon’s far side, a quickly constructed space station and two recent tests of hypersonic space gliders that could possibly be nuclear-tipped. Olson is an Air Force reservist, has NASA experience, served in the Obama White House at the Office of Science and Technology Policy, and is now Deputy Chief of Space Operations for Technology and Innovation of the Space Force and Mobilization Assistant to the Chief of Space Operations, so it’s no surprise that his solution to winning a space race with China is through Space Force mobilization. But … a space superhighway?
In the near term, Olson told the attendees this means encouraging industry to push forward the boundaries of space activities to make real the promise of future space utilization. Space Force is in the early stages of working with industry via Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs, which involve no funding) on figuring out how to build the space infrastructure required — such as re-fueling depots along a “space superhighway,” he explained.
Breaking Defense was in attendance at the meeting and reports that Olson pitched the benefits of commercial space logistics – just like the interstate highway system – to help the US military “dominate” Space Command’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) which is defined as 100 km above the Earth to infinity, and support a support “resilient and persistent occupation” of space by the US “at a lower cost.” And like the interstate highway system and the current private space program, Olson sees “90-to-95 percent” of the investment in the space superhighway coming from industry.
This interspace highway system won’t be a concrete ribbon to the Moon – Olson sees it at first as a series of refueling depots. It will start with “Rocket Cargo” – using rockets to deliver military supplies point-to-point on Earth. That will lead to delivering supplies (and possibly weapons) to future space stations and eventually to the Moon and beyond. Does this mean the U.S. is abandoning the 1967 Outer Space Treaty (OST) which bans any nation state from claiming sovereignty over the Moon and other celestial bodies, and prohibits military maneuvers or weapons testing or establishing military bases on celestial bodies? Olson says no – or perhaps not yet – but implies that China’s actions seem to indicate it plans to – despite being a signatory with Russia on the OST.
Could a space superhighway start out with a military purpose and then evolve into a commercial and public highway like the interstate system? It’s possible, although the highway system was built when Americans were already driving – no one but billionaires are traveling to near space at the moment. IS the Space Force equipped to build such a highway? It’s sounds more like private corporations will do the building for a share of the toll fees, while the Space Force will be the traffic cops.

The topic of today’s article is on the fact that there are two groups of M.I.B., rather than just one. There might be more than two, but two is enough for today. I have to say that this issue – of there being two types of M.I.B. – is one of the most misunderstood within the UFO subject. Almost certainly, that explains why Gray Barker saw the M.I.B. as government agents, while Albert Bender saw them as something akin to high-tech, multi-dimensional demons. One of the groups originated with the U.S. government. The other, however, had – and still has – very different origins. Over the years, I have come to realize just how weird this two-pronged phenomenon is. Now, you will too. Some M.I.B. come from the worlds of government, the military, and the intelligence agencies of several countries. The FBI, at the order of J. Edgar Hoover, opened a file on Barker in the Fifties. The CIA’s “Robertson Panel” recommended keeping a secret watch on UFO groups – in the event they had “Red” leanings – in the 1950s. Clearly, some visits to UFO witnesses and researchers were from one or more of the various “ABC” agencies of the U.S. government. And those visitors were not beyond intimidating some of the early figures in Ufology. They did so by flashing ID cards and ordering those same figures to walk away from it all. Those who came calling and knocking loudly on front-doors in the post-Second World War era wore suits and fedoras – and often black. It just so happens, though, there was that other group of black-suited characters. They wore fedoras, too. These are what we might justifiably call the real M.I.B. They’re still around and they are most definitely not human.
It must be said this second group of M.I.B. were far removed from the world of government. They still are far removed from government. They are pale, skinny, cadaverous figures who look like they would be at home in an old, 1930s-era, black-and-white horror movie – and with Bela Lugosi at the helm. To this day, they still look like that: sickly and zombie-like. It gets weirder. Witnesses to the M.I.B. (and to their comrades, the Women in Black) tell of feeling sick and ill in their presence: as if they are being drained of energy. “Crashing” would be a good word to use. Yes, the vampire parallels are easy to make in M.I.B. world. Those unfortunate enough to encounter the Men in Black report poltergeist activity in their homes and in the wake of the confrontations. It’s unclear which group of M.I.B. came first – the government ones or the much stranger ones. Most of the data, however, suggests the supernatural group were first on the scene – in the late 1940s. By the early 1950s, however, government agencies knew enough of this weirder side of Ufology. And, as a direct result, government agents “hijacked” the real M.I.B. phenomenon for their own purposes. When they needed to cover their tracks, those in the intelligence world, and/or those in the military whose job it was to intimidate people who had seen UFOs, would put on the black suits and the black fedoras. They became the M.I.B. Essentially, they were playing a role that was inspired by a much stranger mystery. Documentation declassified via the terms of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act makes it clear that, in the 1950s and 1960s, the U.S. Air Force and the FBI were on the trail of the M.I.B., but they had no real idea of who or what they were. This didn’t stop the world of officialdom from pretending to be the M.I.B., however, when the time and the place was deemed appropriate.
So, in conclusion, yes, the M.I.B. are indeed all too real. In the early years of the Cold War, a genuine enigma of a supernatural – possibly extraterrestrial – nature was carefully, and brilliantly, mimicked by intelligence agents to ensure their real identities were never known. Those same government agents may actually not have had any real idea of what, or who, it was they were copying. Even up to today, they probably still don’t know. But, here’s the important thing in all of this: that lack of understanding of what the M.I.B. are has not stopped spies, agents and experts in the fields of surveillance and intimidation from passing themselves off as M.I.B. Meanwhile, in the background and in the shadows, the real, non-human Men in Black – with their plastic-looking faces and their bulging eyes – continue to lurk, waiting for their next target.

Watch as a white tictac UFO shoots across the sky over Georgia yesterday. The object is moving fast and it has no visible tail, wings, engines, windows of any sort. He says its silver and it probably is, since silver metallic objects appear white if videos when the sun is reflecting off of them. This UFO seems to be darting from one cloud to another to hide within. Either this is a UFO or its a top secret craft used by the US military in the area. The US military have many different secret craft, many of them have alien technology built into them. This tictac...may be the latest top secret US secret project.

This is the 4th time a silver reflective object has caught my eye.. First time I was getting ready to take some sunset pics and looked up behind me and it was so fast I didn't even have time to realize what I was looking at until it was too late.. Definitely silver and reflecting flashes from the sunlight.... Just disappeared.. The next 2 times I was in the middle of traffic and could not stop to watch.. Definitely the same kind of flashes of reflection.. Those were while driving home around 5:30ish or so.. This time though.. I looked up the reflection was kinda flashing and was looking at it long enough that I was able to see what looked like a silver cylinder with no visible wings.. Just like a bold line.. I see planes out here all the time but this was different.. Same size from front to back and no wings.. Horrible video.. Kept loosing it due to trying to actually look and focus on what I was seeing and also try to get some kind of video.

The group of Russian astronomers spotted something unusual. They were observing the rather innocuous star HD 164595, located in the constellation of Hercules 94 light years (or about 900 trillion kilometres) from Earth. It’s a sun-like star of a similar age to the Sun and is known to have at least one large planet orbiting it. So it was with some surprise that the astronomers at the RATAN-600 radio telescope, located in Zelenchukskaya and led by Nikolay Bursov, received a short but loud radio burst from the direction of HD 164595.
News of the signal broke in mid August this year – even though it was originally picked up on May 15 2015. Given the possible origin of the radio signal, its frequency, and the signal strength there has been much speculation about what the source could be, including the possibility that it is a beacon signal from an advanced alien civilisation.
Such a short duration and bright radio burst is difficult to explain as a naturally occurring, if it is at the distances suggested by the direction it came from. The strength of the signal was 0.75 Janskys, which might not seem much given that a mobile phone at a distance of a kilometre has a signal strength of 110m Janskys. But at the distances involved (if it is coming from HD 164595) it is a very powerful signal indeed.
In response to the announcement, the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) and Messaging to Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (METI) institutes are turning the Allen Telescope Array and the Boquete Optical SETI Observatory towards the star. They hope that if this bank of radio telescopes built in part to look for alien life can recover the signal, they can learn more about its nature and origin.
So is the mysterious signal likely to be a message from space? If it is a beacon signal, sent in all directions, the transmitter would need a hundred million trillion watts of power. This power consumption is about a hundred million times the entire energy output of all the power stations on Earth.
The power requirement could be reduced quite a lot by pointing the beam at the Earth, rather than broadcasting in all directions. This would reduce the power needed to just about the entire Earth’s output. However, at a distance of 94 light years, the radio signal from HD 164595 would have to have been sent years before the source received any of the radio signals that leak out into space from the Earth. Which raises the question why any alien civilisations would have targeted our planet.
The frequency that the HD 164595 signal was detected is in the military wave band and not at a frequency we would expect a “Hello” signal to be. We would expect such a signal to be broadcast at a frequency with little noise that astronomers, alien or human, would be using such as the 21cm hydrogen frequency. The detected frequency of the transmission and its strength mean it is more likely a military signal that has bounced off some space debris and into the Russian observatory than an alien signal from deep space. A local source such as this would explain both the short duration and the intensity of the signal. It is also telling that in the previous thirty-eight HD 164595 observations, no trace of any radio signal has been seen.
False detections have been made before. The most recent signal was found to be caused by a kitchen microwave being opened while it was still running. In the 1960s, the first pulsar was mistaken for an extra-terrestrial beacon, and even named Little Green Men 1, before being recognised as a rapidly rotating core of a dead star.
Unexplained signals
However, not all SETI signals have been explained. The most famous, the WOW signal of 1977, was both brighter and longer than the 15th May signal. And despite follow up observations, the WOW signal was never observed again and remains largely unexplained. Likewise, KIC 8462852, a star in the constellation of Cygnus, that appears to be changing in brightness in a strange way that currently cannot reasonably be explained. It might even be a mega structure being built around the star by an advanced civilisation.
Perhaps the most important thing that comes out of the HD 164595 signal is that there is still a lot of things out there we don’t yet understand and we need to keep looking.

A radio signal detected by an Australian telescope in 2019, which seemed to be coming from the star closest to the Sun, was not from aliens, researchers report today in two papers in Nature Astronomy1,2.
“It is human-made radio interference from some technology, probably on the surface of the Earth,” says Sofia Sheikh, an astronomer at the University of California (UC), Berkeley, and a co-author of both papers.
But the disturbance, detected by Breakthrough Listen — an ambitious and privately funded US$100-million effort in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) — looked intriguing enough at first that it sent astronomers on a nearly yearlong quest to understand its origins. It was the first time that data from Breakthrough Listen triggered a detailed search, and the experience puts scientists in a better position to study future candidate detections.
“It’s really valuable for us to have these dry runs,” says Jason Wright, an astronomer at Pennsylvania State University in University Park. “We need these candidate signals so we can learn how we will deal with them — how to prove they are extraterrestrial or human-made.”
Mysterious blips
Since 2016, Breakthrough Listen has used telescopes around the world to listen for possible broadcasts from alien civilizations. The programme has picked up millions of radio blips of unknown origin, nearly all of which could be swiftly classified as coming from radio interference on Earth, from sources such as mobile-phone towers or aircraft radar.
The 2019 signal was different. It was detected by the 64-metre Parkes Murriyang radio telescope in southeastern Australia and came from the direction of Proxima Centauri — the nearest star to the Sun, just 1.3 parsecs (4.2 light years) away. Proxima Centauri is of intense interest to SETI researchers, not just because it is nearby. The star has at least two planets, one of which orbits at the right distance for liquid water to be present on its surface — a prerequisite for life as it exists on Earth3. A sibling initiative to Breakthrough Listen, known as Breakthrough Starshot, aims to send a tiny spacecraft to this planet in the future to look for life there.
The mysterious signal was first spotted last year by Shane Smith, an undergraduate student at Hillsdale College in Michigan, who was working as a research intern with Breakthrough Listen. Smith was combing through data that Parkes collected over six days in April and May the previous year. The telescope had been making observations in the direction of Proxima Centauri for 26 hours. It was not hunting specifically for aliens at the time, but was instead monitoring flares on the star’s surface, which could hurt the chances for life to arise on nearby planets.
The data included more than 4 million signals from the vicinity of the star, but Smith noted one signal near 982 megahertz that seemed to originate from the star itself and lasted about 5 hours. "I was excited to find a signal that matched all the criteria I was looking for, but I immediately remained skeptical of it and thought there had to be some simple explanation," Smith says. "I did not ever think the signal would cause such excitement."
Smith shared the information with his supervisor Danny Price, who posted it on a Breakthrough Listen Slack channel, and the team started investigating in earnest. “My first thought was that it must be interference, which I guess is a healthy attitude, to be sceptical,” says Price, an astronomer at UC Berkeley and the Breakthrough Listen project scientist in Australia. “But after a while I started thinking, this is exactly the kind of signal we’re looking for.”
The signal, named BLC1 for “Breakthrough Listen candidate 1”, was the first to pass all of the programme’s initial screening tests to rule out obvious sources of interference. “It definitely had me wondering ‘what if?’ for a bit,” says Sheikh.
She, Price and a large group of colleagues began working through possible explanations, from uncatalogued satellites to transmissions from planetary spacecraft. In Australia, the radio-frequency band around 982 megahertz is primarily reserved for aircraft, but the scientists could not identify any aeroplanes that had been in the area and could account for the signal — and certainly not one lasting 5 hours.
In November 2020, and in January and April of this year, the researchers pointed the Parkes telescope at Proxima Centauri to see if they could pick up the signal again. They could not.
Eventually, the team spotted other signals in the original data that looked a lot like the 982-megahertz signal but were at different frequencies. These signals had been tossed out by the team’s automated analysis as being earthly interference. Further analysis showed that BLC1 and these ‘lookalike’ signals were all interference from an unknown source. The signals had modulated and muddied one another, much as a guitar amplifier modulates and distorts a guitar note, which is what made it so difficult to identify BLC1 as interference.
Earthly origins
Because the signal didn’t re-appear in the 2020 and 2021 observations, it might have been coming from malfunctioning electronic equipment that got shut down or fixed, says Sheikh. The team suspects the equipment was relatively close to Parkes, perhaps within a few hundred kilometres. The frequency of the signal drifts in a way that is consistent with inexpensive crystal oscillators such as those commonly used in computers, phones and radios, says Dan Werthimer, a SETI astronomer at UC Berkeley who specializes in signal processing.
Working with another student, Sheikh is now using machine-learning algorithms to tease out what frequency the interfering equipment was transmitting at, which might help to track down its source. One lingering mystery is why the signal seemed to appear only when the telescope was pointed at Proxima Centauri. That might just be an unfortunate coincidence, if the cadence of the interference mimicked the cadence with which the telescope was looking at the star.
Radio interference has bedevilled other astronomical searches before, such as when flickering signals picked up at Parkes turned out to be the result of people microwaving their lunches4. The famous ‘Wow!’ signal, detected in 1977 by a radio telescope in Ohio, was a powerful blip so intriguing that the observing scientist scribbled “Wow!” in the margins of the computer printout — but its origin could never be traced.
Alien searches have become much more sophisticated since then, Sheikh notes. “Many groups assumed that if you had a detection that only showed up when you were pointed at the source, that was it, break out the champagne, you’re done,” she says. “As technology changes, the way we vet signals also has to change — and that hadn’t come together until BLC1.” One of the Nature Astronomy papers features a detailed checklist to help astronomers determine whether their signal is truly from aliens or not.
“The Universe gives us a haystack,” says Ravi Kopparapu, a planetary scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. “It is our need to find the needle in it, and make sure that it is actually a needle that we found.”

Volgens Blue Origin zal iedereen die ervoor betaalt, naar het ruimtestation kunnen afreizen. Het bedrijf vermeldt onderzoekers, maar ook commerciële klanten. “Doorgewinterde ruimtevaartagentschappen, hightechconsortia, landen zonder ruimtevaartprogramma, media en reisbedrijven, ondernemers en investeerders, ze hebben allemaal een plaats in Orbital Reef”, zo staat in een persbericht van Blue Origin.
Dat omschrijft het ruimtestation als een “businesspark voor gemengd gebruik”. Er is ook sprake van een ‘Single Person Spacecraft’, een ruimtetuigje waarmee toeristen uitstapjes zullen kunnen maken in de ruimte.
Ruimtetoerisme
Blue Origin zet volop in op ruimtetoerisme om daarmee een deel van zijn lanceringen terug te verdienen. De afgelopen tijd ging Bezos zelf al de ruimte in. Ook nam Blue Origin acteur William Shatner, bekend als Captain James T. Kirk uit ‘Star Trek’, mee de ruimte in. Daarmee wil het bedrijf naamsbekendheid verkrijgen en meer rijke mensen trekken die de ruimte in willen.
De bouw van het ruimtestation wordt ook ondersteund door onder meer vliegtuig- en ruimtevaartbedrijf Boeing. Daarnaast is de Amerikaanse universiteit Arizona State University betrokken bij het project.

A new analysis of an ancient Egyptian mummy suggests that sophisticated techniques for preserving the dead may be 1,000 years older than previously believed. The discovery centers on the tomb of a high-ranking Old Kingdom official known asKhuwy, reports Kamal Tabikha for the National.
Archaeologists excavated the mummy at the Saqqara necropolis, south of Cairo, in 2019. Hieroglyphs on the wall of the tomb where the deceased was laid to rest show that the burial took place during the Fifth Dynasty period, which spanned the early 25th to mid-24th century B.C.E. Pottery and jars used to store body parts removed during the man’s mummification also appear to date to the time of the Old Kingdom.
As Dalya Alberge reports for the Observer, researchers previously believed that high-quality linen dressings and resin of the kind employed in Khuwy’s mummification weren’t used until much later.
“Until now, we had thought that Old Kingdom mummification was relatively simple, with basic desiccation—not always successful—no removal of the brain, and only occasional removal of the internal organs,” Salima Ikram, an Egyptologist at the American University in Cairo, tells the Observer. “Indeed, more attention was paid to the exterior appearance of the deceased than the interior.”
Ikram and her colleagues are set to share their initial findings in an upcoming episode of the National Geographic series “Lost Treasures of Egypt.” The team plans to conduct additional tests on the mummy, investigating the possibility that it may not be Khuwy, or that the tomb was repurposed for a different burial much later.
“I remain hesitant until we can conduct carbon-14 dating,” Ikram tells the National.
She adds, “If this is indeed the mummy of Khuwy, this will truly be a unique discovery that dramatically shifts our understanding of the history of the Old Kingdom.”

The tests, which will take six to eight months to complete, will offer a more definitive answer regarding the mummy’s age. If dated to the Old Kingdom, the find would expand scholars’ understanding of Fifth-Dynasty trade networks, suggesting extensive trade with neighboring empires. The resin used to preserve the body would likely have been imported from Lebanon.
Tom Cook of Windfall Films, which is producing the National Geographic series, tells the Observer that Ikram was initially skeptical of the idea that the mummy dated to the Fifth Dynasty.
“[Researchers] didn’t think the mummification process [then] was that advanced,” he says. “So her initial reaction was ‘This is definitely not Old Kingdom.’ But over the course of the investigation, she started to come round.”
The tomb where the mummy was found features remarkable wall paintings rendered in “royal colors”—a choice that suggests Khuwy may have been related to Fifth-Dynasty pharaoh Djedkare Isesi, reported Jessica Stewart for My Modern Met in 2019. The L-shaped tomb’s architecture, particularly a tunneled entrance more typically found in pyramids, further indicates that Khuwy was a person of high status, per Jack Guy of CNN.
The team’s findings will appear in a November 28 episode of “Lost Treasures of Egypt” titled “Rise of the Mummies.”
Studie: “Mummies wellicht duizend jaar ouder dan we denken”
Wetenschappers hebben ontdekt dat mummificatie wellicht ouder is dan tot nu toe werd aangenomen. Dat blijkt na onderzoek van een goed bewaard gebleven lichaam van een edelman genaamd Khuwy.
De oude Egyptenaren gebruikten ongeveer 4.000 jaar geleden al mummificatietechnieken. Dat is maar liefst duizend jaar vroeger dan men tot nu toe dacht. Wetenschappers onderzochten het lichaam van Khuwy, een edelman die in 2019 werd ontdekt in een graf op de necropolis Saqqara. Ze vermoeden dat Khuwy uit het Oude Rijk dateert. Het zou een van de oudste Egyptische mummies zijn die ooit werd ontdekt.
“Als dit inderdaad een mummie uit het Oude Rijk is, moeten alle boeken over de geschiedenis van het Oude Rijk herzien worden”, zegt professor Salima Ikram, hoofd Egyptologie aan de American University in Cairo, aan The Observer.
Bijzondere vondst
Tijdens het mummificatieproces werd het lichaam in natron gedompeld zodat het uitdroogde. De huid werd bedekt met hars, en vervolgens werd het lichaam in met hars bewerkt linnen gewikkeld, waarna het in een sarcofaag werd geplaatst. De organen werden meestal in potten mee begraven met het lichaam.
Tot nu toe werd aangenomen dat mummificatie in het Oude Rijk zeer basaal - en niet altijd succesvol - was. In die vroege periode werden de hersenen nog niet verwijderd, en de overige organen slechts occasioneel. Er ging meer aandacht naar de uiterlijke verschijning van de overledene. Het gebruik van hars was in het Oude Rijk ook veel beperkter.
Opmerkelijk bij Khuwy zijn de verfijning van het mummificatieproces en de gebruikte materialen. Linnen en hars zijn overvloedig aanwezig en van een uitzonderlijk fijne kwaliteit. “Hij geeft een heel andere indruk van mummificatie in het Oude Rijk. Hij lijkt meer op mummies van duizend jaar later”, aldus Ikram.
In de religie van de oude Egyptenaren nam mummificeren een steeds belangrijkere plaats in, omdat zij geloofden dat het lichaam van de dode niet naar het eeuwige leven kon reizen zonder een stoffelijk lichaam dat niet verging.
