THE UFO WHY? QUESTIONS 4th Annual UFO
Crash Retrieval Conference Las Vegas, NV November 10-12, 2006 by

ABSTRACT
have been
fortunate enough to lecture (usually Flying Saucers ARE Real) over 700 times
in 18 countries. My audiences, mostly college and professional groups, seem to
have no problem accepting the detailed factual data that I present leading to my
conclusions that SOME UFOs are alien spacecraft and that the subject of flying
saucers represents a kind of Cosmic Watergate. But what seems to be of most
concern, judging by the Question and Answer sessions, are the WHY? questions.
Why would saucers crash? Why would aliens visit Earth? Why doesnt the
government tell us what it knows? Why would aliens not land on the White House
lawn or at the United Nations? Why would people fake MJ-12 documents? Why do you
say SETI stands for Silly Effort To Investigate? Why have you kept at it for 39
years? Why hasnt the government taken you out? Perhaps my answers will help the
reader answer his WHY? questions, or lead to more
such questions.
THE UFO WHY? QUESTIONS
1. WHY have you
concluded that the evidence is overwhelming that Earth is being visited by
intelligently controlled Extraterrestrial Spacecraft?
The simplest answer
is that it is the only conclusion merited by the enormous amount of evidence. In
my lectures I review 5 large scale scientific studies and ask after each one how
many have read it. Typically fewer than 2% have read any. I note the 5000-plus
physical trace cases that Ted Phillips has collected from over 70 countries. In
these people see a craft land and then take off leaving behind various markings
on the soil such as burn circles, landing gear marks, small footprints, dried
out rings of soil, etc. These are not crop circles where normally no saucer is
seen. About 1/6 of these cases involve reports of small beings. I refer to the
more than 1000 abduction cases that have been investigated by Budd Hopkins,
David Jacobs, John Mack, and Raymond Fowler and the Betty and Barney Hill case
as recorded by John G. Fuller. I review the outstanding work by Marjorie Fish
clearly indicating that Bettys star map makes sense and provides information
not previously known to us. Furthermore, I have spent time at 20 archives, had a
security clearance for 14 years, and find it perfectly obvious that crucial data
has been withheld and many government people have lied with regard to UFOs.
Saying some UFOs are of ET origin, of course, doesnt answer other questions
such as WHY are aliens coming here, WHY havent I seen one, where are they from,
etc., etc.
2. WHY dont the aliens, if they are real, just land on the
White House lawn and say Take me to your leader.?
Obviously I dont
speak for any aliens. However, let us note three facts:
A. The White House is in a
forbidden flying zone. Our response to intruders in such zones is to take
immediate action to escort the intruders away or shoot them down. As far back as
the summer of 1952 when, in July, UFOs did fly over the White House, orders were
given to military interceptors to shoot down UFOs if they dont land when
instructed to do so. This is described in detail in Frank Feschino Jr.s new
book Shoot Them Down. Major General Roger Ramey proclaimed that
interceptors had been scrambled hundreds of times without any luck. As an
indication of the zeal of pilots, I have heard of at least 7 specific cases in
which the UFOs zapped attacking earthling aircraft. Tim Good in his new book
Need to Know recounts similar cases. I am working on a claim by a pilot
that UFOs took out 20 of our planes in Europe in the early 1950s.
B. It
may come as a surprise to many Americans, but the President of the USA doesnt
speak for Planet Earth. After all who elected him World President? Certainly not
the billion people from India or the 1.3 billion people in China. Obviously the
UN also does not speak for Planet Earth, either.
C. Normally,
negotiations only take place between roughly equal parties. Surely it is not
difficult to see that aliens have technology far in advance of earthling
technology. Their vehicles are clearly faster, more maneuverable, and have
access to huge space carriers (mother ships) with lord-knows-what capability.
They have no reason to negotiate when they can already do what
they please.
3. WHY in the world would aliens want to come
here if, as you have claimed, we are a primitive society whose major activity is
clearly tribal warfare?
Answers to this question depend very much on
ones picture of the local galactic neighborhood and of the situation on our
planet. The SETI cultists seem to think we are the Crown of Creation and that
there may be as many as 50,000 civilizations in our Milky Way Galaxy, which
has a few hundred billion stars. It is almost 100,000 light years across which,
according to Frank Drake, means there may be another civilization only 1000
light years away. This would, of course, make us very special as one of the
elite civilizations. I think that there are probably many advanced civilizations
within our local neighborhood on planets around some of the 2300 stars within 54
light years, especially the 46 that are very similar to the sun. The driving
fact here is that we have only had fancy technology for perhaps 100 years. But
the earth is about 4.5 billion years old and has been suitable for life for well
over a billion years.
Just down the street, 39.4 light years away, we
find a pair of sun-like stars, Zeta 1 and Zeta 2 Reticuli. These are only an 1/8
of a light year apart from each other, but are a billion years older than the
sun. In other words, there has been a great deal of time for other civilizations
to establish themselves. Having an easily observable neighbor nearby would
provide
far more incentive for the
development of interstellar travel than we have out here in the boondocks. My
view is, per a fine analogy from physicist Beatriz Gabo Rivera, that we are like
the gorillas in a nature preserve in Africa who know nothing about what is going
on outside the preserve. I think aliens have been traipsing around the
neighborhood for a very long time indeed. I think it is hilarious that Dr. Seth
Shostak, one of the noisier SETI guys, says there is nobody at ZR 1 or ZR 2,
because they were listened to by a Southern Radio Observatory 10 years ago. One
would think he knows what equipment and frequency alien communicators way ahead
of us would use, and that they are trying to attract our attention, which
is totally absurd.
Answers also depend greatly on how difficult it is to
travel within the neighborhood. If one is a SETI cultist noting (as on the
terrible Peter Jennings, Feb. 24, 2005, TV mockumentary) that our fastest
spacecraft is the Voyager probe and that it would take 70,000 years to get to
the nearest star, trips would be very uncommon indeed. A much more realistic
approach is to note that Voyager hasnt had a propulsion system on it since it
left Earth. It is coasting, helped by some cosmic freeloading. Can we estimate
the time it takes to cross the ocean by throwing a bottle in? Can we tell how
long it would take to fly from New York to Los Angeles by putting a feather in
the air? It took Charles Lindberg 33 hours to cross the Atlantic. The Concorde
did it in just a few hours. The space station goes around the entire earth in 90
minutes. Electromagnetic signals take 1/7 of a second to
circumscribe the earth.
Remember, we have just started on our
technological kick. Think back to 1900. Note no TV or radio or microwaves or
nuclear power plants or satellites or DNA testing or lasers or computers or
airplanes or rockets or nuclear weapons or transplanted organs. I am convinced
that, unless we stupidly destroy ourselves, there will be a time when star
travel is not considered any more far out than crossing the Atlantic on a 747 is
today. I recently flew nonstop from Newark, New Jersey, to Hong Kong, China, in
less than 17 hours. Nuclear submarines circumnavigate the globe without
surfacing. Obviously there are those who think star travel is impossible. If
that were true, which it isnt, obviously nobody could be coming here
from the stars.
Think of all the
people going through OHare Airport in a year and the huge variety of reasons
for travel. To get the ball rolling, here are some reasons for coming here. I am
sure the reader can think of more:
A. Graduate students doing their thesis work on the development of a
primitive society, on a planet where, amazingly, there is no planetary
government, and where there are many different languages; on various strange
biological specimens, or on genetic variations of
the intelligent beings.
B. Broadcasters with weekly shows such as Idiocy
in the Boondocks.
C. Mining engineers similar to those who went to
California and the Klondike and Australia for gold, or to Texas and the Middle
East for oil. As it happens, the earth is the densest planet in the solar
system, so would be expected to have more of the rare but very important very
heavy metals such as gold, uranium, rhenium, platinum, tungsten, osmium, etc.
These are all much denser than lead. We know from studying star spectra that
they are rare. They also have very special properties.

D. Mining engineers
extracting more common metals from the nodules on the bottom of the ocean and
from the asteroids between Mars and Jupiter. We have been talking about doing
this. Obviously war is much more important than ocean mining to us, so we build
nuclear submarines to stay in the depths of the ocean carrying their multitude
of nuclear tipped missiles. There are also abundant supplies of so-called rare
earths, many used in the electronics and nuclear industries. It should not be
forgotten that a century ago the primary use for uranium was to prepare yellow
glazes for pottery. Zirconium and titanium were essentially worthless. Now
nuclear navies use zirconium based alloys because of their splendid nuclear and
anticorrosion properties. Titanium is used in aircraft like the SR-71 because of
its high strength and low density.
E. Operators of refueling and rest and
relaxation centers on the back side of the moon or in the depths of the ocean or
in the asteroid belt.
F. Visitors checking on old colonies established by
their ancestors. Perhaps there were many different ones which might explain why
we have black, brown, red, yellow and white races.
G. Jailers. This may
be a penal colony on which aliens dropped off their bad boys and girls and that
is why we are so nasty to each other. Georgia and Australia were first settled
by convicts. Letting the convicts go bother other civilizations who, unlike us,
have learned to live peacefully, may be a no-no in the galactic
rule book.
H. Vacationers. This may be a recreation center. Notice how
many people visit Hawaii and Las Vegas and Orlando. If the travel wasnt easy,
how many would venture forth to see Mickey Mouse or gaming tables
or surfing beaches?
I. Specimen gathererers for ET zoos and aquariums.
We are still finding new specimens.
J. Local galactic
horticultural societies collecting specimens for their displays and
genetic cross breeding.
K. Medical researchers. They may have to evaluate
the genetic material of loads of specimens to find genetic defects or
super-special genes. There are a number of conditions whose frequency in the
population is quite small (for example, only one person in 14,000 has
hemophilia) so many specimens must be checked.
L. Honymooners. Perhaps
this is the honeymoon capital for this corner of the neighborhood. Special rates
for a week on Earth side trips to the moon and Mars
M. Cartographers.
Local neighborhood maps may describe, for example, the equivalent of English
coaling stations in the 19th century.
N. Sports enthusiasts. There may be
special excursions to observe various such events. Dont forget that a World
Championship Chess match was held in Iceland.
O. Scouts seeking the best
site for a new amusement park in the solar system.
P. Weapons inspectors.
If we make the eminently reasonable assumption that every advanced civilization
is concerned about its own survival and security, than we would expect that our
development of Weapons of Mass Destruction and the means for delivering them in
the local neighborhood would be of great concern. Clearly after World War II it
should take less than a century for us to master fission and fusion and other
new technologies to allow us to take our brand of friendship/hostility out
there. Thus, a logical reason to visit is to quarantine us until we develop a
technique for learning to live at peace with each other. No galactic federation
new-member committee would allow us to join. Too primitive.I suspect that the
SETI cultists think they would be welcome guests. Not very likely.
Q.
Producers. Having worked on a lot of motion picture documentaries at many
locations, I would suggest perhaps some visitors are planning epic fiction and
factual movies for film companies at home shooting on location
hither and yon.
4. WHY is the government not telling what
it knows?
Are they afraid of War of the Worlds panic? I hardly think so.
After all, New Jersey was being destroyed by Martians. What could we do against
them? Panic was not inappropriate. First we have to recognize there is a Cosmic
Watergate and a long history of government lies about UFOs such as I described
in Ref. 1, which lists lies from the FBI, CIA, USAF, NSA, etc. Some want to
insist that (A) governments cant keep secrets, and (B) the real secret is that
they dont know what is going on and cant admit that either.
I disagree
with both. A few examples of secret-keeping that have leaked out: The Manhattan
Engineering District employed 130,000 people to develop the atomic bomb at a
cost of several billion dollars in total secrecy during World War II. The Allies
broke the German code during World War II and had 12,000 people working at
Bletchley Park in the UK intercepting, decoding and translating German military
communications. If the secret had come out, the Germans would have changed their
codes. There was really nothing in public until 25 years later despite the
obviously great improvements in technology. We also had broken the Japanese
military codes again in secret. With regard to B, note that the military
agencies have monitoring systems that provide far more information than we
civilians can obtain and in secret.
The Naval Research Laboratory
finally admitted in 1995 that it had launched a
bunch of Corona electromagnetic
intelligence satellites to monitor Soviet radar and communications systems
starting in 1960, after 12 secret failures. The first one that worked provided
more data than all the previous secret U-2 flights that preceded it. The Soviets
knew about the U-2, but dared not admit that they couldnt do anything about it.
The American people had not been informed. Similarly the Soviets had shot down a
number of military reconnaissance aircraft probing Russia, North Korea, and
China causing the loss of 166 crew members. Their families were lied to:
unfortunate accident, crashed at sea, etc. It was not until 2001 that the USA
had a meeting with families of the crew members that they were told what
happened, even though most of the losses occurred in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s.
Medals were distributed. William Burrows tells the story in his book By Any
Means Necessary (Ref. 2).
The National Reconnaissance Office first
admitted in 2005 that it had launched 7 Poppy satellites between 1962 and 1971.
Their function was to conduct very sophisticated monitoring of electronic and
radar installations on Soviet ships. Thousands of
people were involved.
So yes, indeed, secrets can be kept. The annual US
Black Budget is estimated at 30-40 billion dollars. That is a
lot of secrecy.
So WHY keep UFOs secret?
A. All major countries and many terrorist groups would very much
like to duplicate the flight technology of the saucers. They can literally fly
circles around our vehicles, move at very high speed, make right angle turns,
move straight up and down typically with little noise, no visible engines, no
exhaust. They would make wonderful weapons delivery and defensive systems. Since
we have recovered wreckage at least as early as 1947 (see Crash at
Corona, Ref. 3) we would have set up a highly classified project (call it
Operation Majestic 12 as described in my book TOP SECRET/MAJIC (Ref. 4))
to try both to evaluate the wreckage and to obtain measurements of flight
characteristics using airborne and spaceborne and earth-based radar sets,
cameras, electromagnetic sensors, and other instrumentation. Surely governments
have very much more sophisticated instruments and observation platforms than do
private individuals. The key rule here is that one cant tell ones friends
without telling ones enemies. It appears that there have been many UFO crashes
including ones overseas (Varginha, Brazil, for example). There is a long history
of countries gathering and evaluating crashed vehicles of their enemies. This
does not require a conspiracy; everybody has the same self
interest concerns.
B. Each country worries about its enemies determining
the secrets of saucer technology before they do and must be concerned about how
to defend against new vehicles and also how to learn what the other guy has
already learned. Soviet spies at Los Alamos apparently shortened the time it
took the Soviets to test their first A-bomb (1949) by at least a year.
C.
What if an announcement were made, by highly trusted individuals around the
world, such as the Queen and the Pope, saying that indeed SOME UFOs are ET
spacecraft? Here are some things I believe would happen:
(1) Church attendance would increase.
(2) Mental hospital
admissions would increase.
(3) The stock market would go down;
uncertainty is always the enemy.
(4) Based on my more than 600 college
lectures, the younger generation, which, unlike me, was never alive when there
wasnt a space program, would push for a new view of ourselves as EARTHLINGS
instead of as Americans, Canadians, Greeks, Peruvians, etc. Many would think
that would be great. But I know of no government on Earth that wants its
citizens to owe their primary allegiance to the planet (where it belongs)
instead of to individual national governments. Nationalism is the only game in
town. I believe that alien visitors they may be our landlords, for all we know
think of us as earthlings even though, because of our military traffic, they
would be well aware of different ruling groups
in different places.
D. A small group of religious
fundamentalists (Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson come to mind) have already
loudly proclaimed that UFOs are the work of the devil and there is no other
intelligent life outside Earth. What an insult to the notion of an all powerful
GOD! They would be up the creek without a religious paddle if an announcement
were to be made. They have had a great deal of political clout.
E. Making
an announcement would require that governments admit they have been lying
through their teeth for decades. I dont know of any government that wants
to do that.
F. If an announcement were carefully made without the scare
mongering of War of the Worlds, a lot of people would think that surely,
aliens, who can come here, must be far more advanced technologically than are
we, since we cant go out there. This would strongly suggest that soon there
would be new methods of energy production, air and ground transport, computers
and communication systems, i.e. economic chaos. We are not very good at large
scale economic changes in a hurry. Think of the Soviet Union which, at our
strong demands, had democracy, elections, freedom, capitalism. On the average,
except for the high price of oil, are Russians better off today than they were
17 years ago??
G. Because I am convinced that military pilots in many
countries have been disintegrated or disappeared by UFOs, I think governments
would all be very resistant to telling their citizens that we tried to attack
UFOs and they returned the favor only they succeeded. The head of the American
Rocket Society in 1952 took President Truman to task for the attack orders.
Frank Feschino Jr. (Shoot Them Down) has gathered hundreds of reports of
supposed airplane crashes in the USA and overseas in the early 1950s. Three
military pilots, each of whom flew over 100 missions in Korea where they had to
deal with marauding MIGs, crashed when they came back home. That seems very
suspicious to me.

5. WHY would saucers crash?
Usually
this is accompanied by a comment that it makes no sense that a sophisticated
vehicle coming from many light years away could possibly crash. Please note that
the vehicle could have come from a base on the back side of the moon, in the
asteroid belt, on Mars or some alien coaling station in the local
neighborhood. I once did 25 college lectures in 35 days in 15 states. I was gone
all the time from when I left home until I returned rather than going back and
forth to home after each lecture.
A. In the first place, there are many indications that what crashed
at Roswell and in the Plains of San Agustin in New Mexico in early July, 1947,
were small Earth excursion modules rather than the interstellar, very large
vehicles (space carriers? mother ships?) which would have brought them to Earth
just as our large aircraft carriers carry 75 or so small airplanes whose mode of
propulsion is distinctly different from that of the carrier.
B. Secondly,
when we examine major efforts by the Transportation Safety Board to determine
the cause of aircraft crashes, we often find, after much effort, that it was
simple unexpected things ranging from loose bolts, to ingested birds, to faulty
wiring, to pilot error, to ice in the wrong place. It could have been very high
atmospheric electricity levels because of storms or the great dryness of the
desert air. Or unexpected high altitude hail. We know a radar set was on over at
White Sands because of an impending rocket launch and the fact that it used
vacuum tubes. This was a tracking radar pointed North. Crossing the beam might
have led to a small hiccup in the control system for a magnetoaerodynamic
propulsion system leading to a collision and subsequent collision of the lead
saucer and its wingmans saucer. Perhaps a US military rocket launched in the
neighborhood might have inadvertently homed in on a saucer. Perhaps there was a
momentary loss of attention when the Trinity highly radioactive site, at which
the first atomic bomb was tested, was noted. We certainly have no reason to
believe that aliens never make mistakes, or never run into the unexpected. Some
day perhaps the government will release the report that was undoubtedly written
as to the causes of the crashes. Just because we dont have that report, it
doesnt mean the event didnt take place.
6. WHY havent
you seen a flying saucer?
I have no idea, though I have mostly
lived in cities and am watching for traffic rather than looking to the skies. I
check my audiences after my lectures and find that typically 10% have seen one,
which covers many decades. Only 10% of those were reported. I have never seen
Tokyo either or had polio or HIV. I know people who have seen Tokyo, had polio,
or HIV. I spent many years chasing neutrons and gamma rays. Never saw one of
them either. They are also real.
7. WHY do you say SETI stands for Silly
Effort to Investigate?
Frankly I find that there is very little science
behind the SETI effort. It is assumed that there are civilizations using
communication technologies similar to ones we have developed to try to attract
our attention. It assumes there is no colonization and no migration and that
nobody is coming here. They assume that because it takes less energy to send
signals than to travel, that nobody is traveling. Of course nobody flies from
Newark to Hong Kong because the Internet and telephone is cheaper! Hah. It is
all fancily dressed hogwash. They could easily be thousands or millions of years
ahead of us. An AM radio doesnt pick up FM signals. A German General just
before the start of World War II in Europe noted (see Ref. 2) that the Brits
were building a whole array of tall (more than 200') towers with cross pieces
which he figured had to be part of a radar net. The Graf Zeppelin slowly moved
parallel to the array and listened and found no signals. The frequency being
used was 10 times higher than what the Germans were using and they fortunately
were never aware of how well their planes were being tracked.
If
civilizations, with a great deal of common heritage and similar background and
access to similar science, cant correctly predict the technique to be used by
similar people a few hundred miles away, why assume we can second-guess aliens?
They persistently say there is no evidence for UFOs, but always avoid dealing
with the large scale scientific studies. Check their references. Look carefully
at the Drake Equation, their Holy Grail. We have no way to determine the
lifetime of a civilization, or the fraction of planets that have intelligent
life or that develop technology. We have data on one civilization on one
planet in one solar system. Real scientists dont extrapolate or interpolate
from one data point. The SETI people omit colonization and migration which could
greatly lengthen the life span of a civilization. That is pseudoscience, no
matter how many degreed professionals are involved. Admittedly, their job
security is dependent on nobody coming here
8. WHY hasnt the government

overwhelming evidence that we have visitors is true?
Obviously I dont
speak for the government. I am careful in what I say, and I dont break the law
in seeking classified data from people with clearances. I may be doing exactly
what they want, that is, preparing the public for the date when the great
secret is released. I have never had an unlisted telephone number. It is in my
books and on my website. All those lonely drives to Roswell would provide plenty
of opportunity. My answering service is instructed to give out my travel
information to callers. Frankly, I cant live my life looking over my shoulder.
Some have suggested I was too well known and that a sudden death
would be suspicious
9. WHY would people fake a bunch
of MJ-12 documents?
I am not a psychiatrist, but I would suggest to
enhance status;
to think Gotcha; or to disinform the
public so that the fake documents would be an excuse for labeling such genuine
documents as the Eisenhower Briefing Document, the Truman-Forrestal Memo, and
the Cutler-Twining Memo as frauds. Or, perhaps, might it be to be able to claim
that the proponents are stupid or are disinformation specialists? The same old
tired false anti-MJ-12 arguments keep being put forth despite the fact that I
have demonstrated that they are nonsense. The Majestic 12 article in Wikipedia
is loaded with false and misleading claims. For example, in the 5000-word
afterword in TOP SECRET/MAJIC 2nd Edition (2005), in Update on Operation
Majestic 12 (see www.stantonfriedman.com), in Roswell
and the MJ-12 Documents in the New Millennium (Ref.5), and in my Review of
Case MJ-12 also on my website I demolish the antis and show that other MJ-12
documents are fraudulent. Remember, one of the key rules for debunkers is Dont
bother me with the facts, my mind is made up. Another is Do your research by
proclamation, investigation is too much trouble and the public wont know the
difference. I distinctly showed that at least seven of the supposed MJ-12
documents provided to Timothy Cooper are emulations of real documents published
in books and generally available. They were retyped, much handwritten material
was Xeroxed or scanned, and the two were combined. And there were often factual
misstatements. Deuterium is not light hydrogen. Sandia is in New
Mexico, while General Spaatz was not in New Mexico on July 7, 1947 (I
found his flight log and a newspaper article and desk calendar indicating he was
in Port Aransas, Texas, fishing).
Some of the statements from the phony
emulations were repeated in other documents which means the latter ones were
also phony. I have been told that when good information is leaked, bad is put
out so as to confuse things and imply the real ones are phony: guilt by
association. It is interesting that Colonel Richard Weaver, author of the
grossly misleading USAF Book The Roswell Report: Truth vs. Fiction in the New
Mexico Desert (see Ref. 5) had as his military specialty Disinformation.
He provided the fiction.
10. WHY have you kept at it since reading
Ruppelts book in 1958 and giving your first lecture in 1967?
I enjoy
being on the stage and the very enthusiastic response I get from my audiences,
especially from the technical societies. I am pleased when people tell me that
they decided to teach a course about UFOs, after hearing me talk. I can think of
no subject more important to the future for my children and grandson than the
notion of an earthling orientation in the hope of helping stop the proliferation
of nuclear weapons. What is more exciting than alien visitations and government
cover-ups? I believe I bring a unique background to my presentations:
A. So far as I know I have worked on more cancelled high technology
classified programs than anybody and so can deal with those silly It would
violate the laws of Physics arguments. Not many have worked on nuclear
airplanes, or in general on fission and fusion propulsion systems.
B.
Because I worked on many classified programs and have visited 20 archives, I am
in a better position than most to deal with the silly Secrets cant
be kept notions.
C. Because I have probably had to answer about 40,000
questions at lectures and on talk shows and in classes, I have been forced to
think about the questions such as the WHY? questions,
more than most.
D. I was very fortunate to be able to find that my memory
was good and reliable (at least until recently) and I could give acceptable
answers in a hurry. Being on debate teams in high school probably helped a lot.
I have been very lucky, first to have worked on so many leading edge classified
programs, and second to be able to provide so many presentations to
attentive audiences.

hated wasting the money to buy the January/February 2009 issue of the Skeptical Inquirer (Vol. 33, Issue 1) which has for years been trying to debunk all sorts of so-called paranormal phenomena. But the cover said: Special Issue The New UFO Interest: Scientific Appraisals. This is an excellent example of false advertising since the appraisals are anything but scientific. SI is published by what is now labeled The Committee for Skeptical Inquiry (CSI Lite??). In actuality, the active writers and investigators arent skeptics. They are Debunkers doing their best to pull the wool over the eyes of a curious public. They know the answers, and so dont really need to investigate. Proclamation is more their style. Deception is the name of the game. For example, inside the front cover is a very impressive list of about 75 scientists, writers, philosophers, etc., including three Nobel Prize winners. Also included on the list is Bill Nye, The Science Guy, whose purpose is to Deny judging by his Larry King appearances. Unfortunately, most of the highly credentialed people arent the ones who write the articles or investigate. The dirty work in the trenches is normally done by the debunkers in residence. The primary tools are those of the propagandists such as very selective choice of data, positive and negative name calling, and misrepresentation.
Listed under Investigative Files is an article Return to Roswell by Dr. Joseph Nickell. Joes three degrees are in English and he spent a lot of time as a magician. Not much science there. Of course the stock-in-trade of magicians is intentional deception with another sterling example being the Amazing Randi. Joes been attacking Roswell for over a decade. At the 50th Anniversary celebration in Roswell, I was being interviewed there, and he was in California. We couldnt see each other, but could hear. He explained Roswell by saying the press release was put out by the PR person from the base to attract attention to himself! Joe didnt even know Walter Hauts name. I pointed out that I had known Walter from almost twenty years and that the notion that the PR person for the most elite military organization in the world, the 509th Bomb Group, would put out such a press release without his bosss blessing was completely absurd. Of course in SI Joe never mentions the 509th or that it had dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 and set off two more at Operation Crossroads in the Pacific in 1946. It is of some interest that Walter Haut was chosen to drop the instrument package during one of those tests, that he had flown over twenty bombing missions as a bombardier over Japan during WW2 and was quite close to Colonel Blanchard, 509th Commander. Some inexperience!

Apparently Joe had learned nothing from our exchange and stated On July 8, 1947, an unauthorized press release from an eager but relatively inexperienced public information officer at New Mexicos Roswell Army Air Field propelled the Roswell Incident into history. It has been known for thirty years that Blanchard ordered (authorized) Walter to put out the release. Walter after years in the far east during WW2 was hardly just wet behind the ears. Joe even goes on to claim Kenneth Arnolds sighting two weeks earlier may well have been nothing more than mirage effects caused by a temperature inversion. That is as sensible as saying the moon may be made of green cheese. This crazy notion was thoroughly destroyed by Dr. Bruce Maccabee, a physicist. But why let the facts get in the way?
Nickell goes on to say the young officer was reprimanded. He provides no evidence. I and others have asked both Walter and his wife and both denied there was any reprimand. Why would there have been, since Blanchard had ordered the release? Nickell then moves right over to the baseless Project Mogul explanation which has been thoroughly destroyed by Brad Sparks and Dr. David Rudiak and Dr. Jesse Marcel Jr. (Ref.1) despite the assertions of Dr. Charles Moore who worked on the program.
Nickell describes in some detail tests run by Engineer Robert Galganski with the Discovery TV Channel crew and Nickell in attendance. They put up a half size Mogul Balloon Train carrying some radar reflectors and then shot down the balloons showing that the area covered by the debris was much smaller than described by Major Jesse Marcel. Joe was there and doesnt really buy the test because he notes that Jesses estimate, 3/4 of a mile long by hundreds of feet wide, was much greater than described by Rancher Mack Brazel in the July 9 Roswell Daily Record article. He quotes that article at length, but somehow never mentions that Brazel was sure what he had found wasnt balloons. He also fails to mention that testimony from Brazels son Bill, neighbor Loretta Proctor, and others all saying that Brazel was brought back into town on July 9 and given a new story to tell the press. Also not noted is that if all there had been was the bundle about three feet long and 7 or 8 inches thick and the another rubber bundle 18-20 inches long and 8 inches thick with a total weight of maybe 5 pounds, it would easily have fit in Brazels small truck and there would have been no reason for Marcel and Counter Intelligence Corps Captain Sheridan Cavitt to follow Brazel the long way back to the ranch on July 6 as they did. Joe, of course, never mentions that the July 8 article, carried all over in Evening papers from Chicago West, said the wreckage was found last week. The phony July 9 explanation says found June 14 hardly last week from July 8.
Joe also notes that though the news story died almost immediately, but the event continued as the subject of folklore and fakelore [much provided by Roswell Debunkers] there emerged amateurishly forged government conspiracy documents. He has a note saying The MJ-12 Documents fooled arch Roswell-conspiracy writer Stanton T. Friedman who has continued to tout the bogus documents (Friedman 1996). WRONG, Joe. I have done far more detailed investigation (not Nickell-style proclamations) to show that the great majority of the MJ-12 documents are indeed fakes but that the four major ones are solid. As I recall Joe claimed the Eisenhower Briefing Document was an obvious fraud because of the comma in the date 18 November, 1952. As it happens that was one of many date formats in use at the time. I found seven original documents which were used as a basis for phony emulations and was able to dispose of the other objections to the four good ones in Ref. 2, 2005, and a number of papers none noted by Nickell, of course. Ref. 3 by myself and Don Berliner is also not noted.
Robert Sheaffer also contributed a historical overview: Ufology 2009: A Six Decade Perspective. Sheaffer clearly shows his disdain for UFO abductions and the rest of the UFO scene, and for the facts as well. Speaking of Betty and Barney Hill: Under hypnosis, they each told a UFO Abduction story that largely matched Bettys nightmares (which Barney had heard her repeat many times). The comment is nonsense. Barney read Bettys dreams once, and the notes were put in a drawer. There was no repetition and the comparative analysis of what they said under hypnosis and what was in the dreams is detailed by Bettys niece Kathleen Marden, in our book Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experiences (Ref. 4) also not referenced. Sheaffer theorizes a New Age vs. Science Fiction ufology. Both are junk science and consistently ignore Occams razor (all things being equal, the simplest solution is the best). By far the simplest solution to the UFO problem is that the best cases (Multiple witness radar visual, landings etc.) involve alien spacecraft. Debunking ufology of the SI variety ignores science all together. He also claims The FBI investigated the documents [MJ-12] and quickly concluded that the documents were completely bogus.
Not so. The FBI on its website carries the USAF Colonel Weavers set with his hand written comment BOGUS. They accepted his word. Sheaffer also claims one document was typed on a typewriter that was not manufactured until fifteen years after the date on the document. This, too, is nonsense as noted in Ref. 2 on page 227 which quotes forensic document examiner James Black that the typeface preceded the document date by seven years.
Dr. David Morrison, a NASA senior scientist, chimes in in SI with UFOS and Aliens in Space. He says If UFOs are alien spacecraft visiting Earth, then it seems reasonable that evidence of alien civilizations might be seen by astronomers or the radio signals
from alien spacecraft might be picked up by the sensitive receivers we use to communicate with our own spacecraft. Frankly this is absurd. Astronomers (some of whom have indeed seen UFOs) arent looking for signals from alien spacecraft which are very likely using techniques about which we are ignorant. Maybe secret NSA listening devices pick up alien signals, but then the NSA doesnt release info about what signals it receives. They did release 156 pages of UFO related intercepts. All but one or two sentences per page are redacted (whited out). Another astronomer, Andrew Fraknoi, has a brief piece bemoaning the lack of sightings by even amateur astronomers. There is no mention, of course, of Stanford astrophysicist Dr. Peter Sturrocks discussion of astronomer UFO sightings as noted in Ref. 5.
Retired air force major and pilot, James McGaha, also an avid astronomer, with his own observatory, lists fourteen areas of astronomical knowledge needed to be a good UFO observer. He, too, has appeared on Larry King attacking unqualified observers. One hardly needs to be very astronomically knowledgeable to describe the silent slow flight at low altitude of the huge Phoenix lights taking four minutes to fly right overhead blotting out the stars as it did so. I can enjoy and benefit from eating various foods without being an expert on the digestion process. He and I tangled in a spirited formal university debate as can be seen in Ref. 6.
Another SI anti-Roswell article is Roswell Update: Fading Star? by Dave Thomas, a scientist in New Mexico and President of New Mexicans for Science and Reason. Dave has certainly demonstrated his lack of knowledge of both the Roswell and Aztec UFO crash retrieval cases. I am looking forward to a soon-to-be-published book by Scott and Suzanne Ramsey about the Aztec case. Unlike Thomas, they did an enormous amount of serious research.
There are a few other articles as well. Suffice to say that the Skeptical Inquirer provides many examples of the intellectual bankruptcy of the pseudoscience of anti-ufology.

eaders may be interested in a very recent review of Science Was Wrong: Startling Truths about Cures, Theories, and Inventions They Declared Impossible. Kathleen Marden and I each wrote seven chapters. The review by John Harney can be seen at The Magonia Blog. Harney isnt bothered by the chapters on aviation, space, cold fusion, climate change, communications, Jupiter and man, various medical situations, etc. He is bothered by the ones dealing with frontier and paranormal phenomena, the Abduction conundrum, and of course, UFOs.
Harney says Friedman launches his familiar attacks on the debunkers; though he devotes too much space to those who know little about the subject and have never carried out serous investigations and whose opinions are thus hardly worth commenting on. I wonder who he means sounds like the debunkers . I focused on the research of Dr. James E. McDonald, associate director of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (most UFOs are indeed seen in the atmosphere) and a full professor of Physics at the University of Arizona. Jim interviewed over 500 witnesses, lectured to many professional groups and provided a 71-page paper concerning 41 cases he had examined to Congressional Hearings in 1968 (see books, etc.). Another focus was Dr. J. Allen Hynek, head of the astronomy department at Northwestern University and for more than 20 years consultant to the Air Force Project Blue Book. He investigated many sightings as reported, for example, in his book The UFO Experience. I also noted the outstanding work of Ted Phillips, who has collected literally thousands of physical trace cases from more than 80 countries and visited many hundreds of sites. Perhaps Harney is referring to Dr. Carl Sagan whom I did criticize and who has indeed never done any serious investigations? Harney falsely claims that I said The reason why we dont have definitive proof of UFO reality is government secrecy. He fails to address the obvious question which is How can governments keep secret for over 60 years something over which they have no control? Harney should obviously realize that governments dont need to control the aliens. They definitely do control the sophisticated devices for monitoring and tracking UFOs and examining UFO wreckage from events such as Roswell, and the dissemination of that data, which is born classified. These include ground, air, and space radar systems, radar and cameras on board aircraft chasing UFOs, and on board ships at sea. During WW2 governments made sure that no word was spread about Japanese Fugo Balloon bombs which they also didnt control.

Response to The Magonia Blogs book review of Science Was Wrong by Stanton T. Friedman, M.Sc. and Kathleen Marden (Kathleen Mardens reply)
I was somewhat dismayed but not surprised by The Magonia Blogs review of our new book, Science Was Wrong: Startling Truths About Cures, Theories, and Inventions They Declared Impossible. Magonias reviewer, John Harney, delivered a fairly accurate assessment of our books subject matter how scientific and technological progress has been retarded by authoritative persons who have declared innovations and inventions be either wrong or of no practical use. He then mentions some of our more controversial chapters global warming, parapsychology and UFOs. The scientific evidence for the latter are discussed in a section titled Frontiers of Science. He should have mentioned that our book is divided into five sections: Aerospace, Technology, Medicine, Politics, and the Frontiers of Science.
He claims that The authors favour the genuineness of psychic phenomena, as one would expect. as if the information presented were based upon emotionality rather than statistical evidence. But he fails to inform the reader of my (Kathleens) extensive research of tightly controlled experimental studies, designed by parapsychologists and skeptics working together, that indicate there is reproducible scientific evidence in support of psi phenomena in thousands of telepathy experiments. He also avoids mentioning the failure of academia to accept the results due to personal bias and the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences call for a fairer hearing across a broader spectrum of the scientific community so that emotionality does not impede the object assessment of experimental results. This came after a Harvard University professor was asked by the committee to withhold information favorable to psi.
Harney fails to mention that my chapter (Kathleens) on alien abduction discusses the infamous Trick Memo written at the projects inception in 1966 by Robert Low, the Condon Committees project coordinator , that clearly voices the biased opinion that In order to undertake such a project, one would have to approach it objectively. That is, one has to admit the possibility that such things as UFOs exist. It is not respectable to give serious consideration to such a possibility The very act of admitting these possibilities just as possibilities put us beyond the pale I can quite easily imagine, however, that psychologists, sociologists and psychiatrists might well generate scholarly publications as a result of their investigations of saucer observers. Nor does he mention the fact that Section 7 of the National Academy of Sciences review report recommended that UFO reports should be of interest to social scientists.
He does claim however, that I attack the work of psychologists who attribute such (abduction) reports to the effects of sleep paralysis. Attack is an extremely strong word to describe my discussion of the characteristics of sleep paralysis and hypnagogic/hypnopompic hallucinations. There is no attack on psychologists who favor the sleep paralysis hypothesis. In fact, I dont even mention names only the statement that some experiencers do not have the classic symptoms of sleep paralysis (waking up paralyzed and able to move only ones eyes). Instead, they cry out, attempt to flee, or throw things at their captors prior to the onset of paralysis. I also stated that some wake up locked out of their homes, on their roofs, in someone elses home or in their vehicles. On page 205 I wrote, A full 30 percent of abductees recall the entire experience without hypnosis, and do not fit nicely into the sleep anomaly or fantasy-prone personality group. Does this presentation of research findings sound like an attack? Certainly debunkers must shutter when they hear this information. He further alleges that my dismissive attitude is hardly scientific. Actually, my attitude is not dismissive. I clearly state that some individuals believe they have been abducted by aliens, for a variety of psychological reasons, when they have not. I also present evidence that some psychological hypotheses dont hold water and some psychological studies appear to be biased. Harneys problem is that I dont dismiss all UFO abductions.
My chapter actually focuses upon the results of academic psychology studies of suspected or self identified abductees that might explain alien abduction and the surprising results of studies conducted in the US and Canada. I then present the evidence that some alien abductions are real.
Harney lambasts me for my paragraph on the work of Derrel Sims and Roger Leir on alleged alien implants. I suppose he is distressed that I wrote about the medical finding that tissue surrounding the implants exhibits no signs of inflammatory response, and a large number of specialized nerve cells within the tissue samples had no anatomical reason to be there. Horrors! Even worse, I mentioned Leirs report that one suspected implant emitted a radio frequency that would broadcast in a deep-space frequency, and that one of Leirs specimens showed trace element patterns and isotopic ratios consistent with meteoric origin (see my footnotes). Harney summarily dismisses these scientific findings with the statement that they have never presented any evidence that there is anything exotic about any of these. You decide.
It is clear that Harney objected to my overview of the research findings on both sides of the debate and would have preferred a narrow discussion in support of psychological hypotheses. However, the chapters title is The Conundrum of Alien Abduction. The American Heritage Dictionary defines conundrum as a problem admitting of no satisfactory solution; A difficult and complicated problem. Both sides of the issue deserve discussion.

Aanstaande vrijdag roept de Peruaanse luchtmacht een nieuwe afdeling in het leven die zich helemaal gaat richten op het onderzoek naar ongeïdentificeerde vliegende objecten (UFOs).
De afdeling krijgt de naam DIFAA, wat staat voor Departamento de Investigación de Fenómenos Aéreos Anómalos.
De luchtmacht gaat nauw samenwerken met een burgeradviesraad die bestaat uit onderzoekers, wetenschappers en intellectuelen, waaronder oud-commandant Julio Cesar Chamorro, archeoloog Manuel Aguirre Morales, onderzoeksjournalist Marco Barraza Camacho, de directeur van het Peruaanse Instituut voor Astronomie Barthelemy dAns, ingenieur Enrique Álvarez Vita, communicatiedeskundige Patricia Meseth Petrucelli, filosoof Luis Enrique Alvizuri en socioloog Giorgio Piacenza.

Diverse media melden dat komeet C/2012 S1 (ISON) begint op te lichten en nog steeds de komeet van de eeuw kan worden. Maar is ISON wel een komeet?
Op internet wordt hierover druk gediscussieerd. Er circuleert een foto waaruit zou blijken dat komeet ISON uit drie verschillende objecten bestaat.
De foto is op 30 april jongstleden gemaakt met ruimtetelescoop Hubble en laat zien dat twee van de objecten een cyclindrische vorm hebben. Afgelopen augustus beweerde een groep bloggers dat komeet ISON werd vergezeld door twee moederschepen en dat de kern van de komeet in feite een grote biosfeer is.

De claims konden rekenen op een officiële reactie van NASA-wetenschappers, die stelden dat er drie objecten waren verschenen omdat Hubble met verschillende filters een aantal fotos had gemaakt, die waren gecombineerd tot de uiteindelijke foto.
Komeet ISON werd in september 2012 ontdekt door Russische amateurastronomen. Op 10 april maakte Hubble er de eerste fotos van. Volgens NASA tonen de Hubble-fotos een komeet met een kleine kern en een grote coma. De ruimtevaartorganisatie schat dat de kern een doorsnee heeft van enkele kilometers, terwijl de coma en de staart respectievelijk 5000 en 90.000 kilometer lang zijn.
Komeet ISON werd op 29 september gefotografeerd door de Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter en nadert de zon het dichtst op 28 november aanstaande. Op 26 december staat komeet ISON op een veilige 64 miljoen kilometer van de aarde.
Veel astronomen hopen dat de passage van komeet ISON in november zal leiden tot spectaculair vuurwerk. Sommigen spreken zelfs van de komeet van de eeuw. Volgens de Britse krant The Guardian had komeet ISON tot een week geleden nog een magnitude van 10, maar kan die eind oktober wel eens 8 of 7 bedragen.
Chinese satelliet
Amateurastronomen hebben de fotos van Hubble geanalyseerd en kwamen tot de ontdekking dat de kern van komeet ISON bestaat uit drie afzonderlijke objecten, waarvan twee met een cylindrische vorm. Dit wordt ontkend door sterrenkundigen die werken met de Hubble-telescoop.
Wat het allemaal nog mysterieuzer maakt is een vermeende video van komeet ISON waaruit blijkt dat de komeetkern wordt vergezeld door twee UFOs. De video zou zijn gemaakt met behulp van een Chinese satelliet, echter zijn de beelden niet terug te vinden op de website van het Chinese nationale ruimteagentschap CNSA.
Op internet doen verschillende beweringen de ronde. Eén blogger, Tolec, claimt bijvoorbeeld dat komeet ISON in feite een grote biosfeer is die wordt vergezeld door twee kleine schepen. Dit is een groot schip dat wordt bestuurd door de Galactische Federatie, schrijft hij.
Is de foto uit april het resultaat van een combinatie van meerdere fotos, zoals sterrenkundigen hebben beweerd? Of wordt komeet ISON vergezeld door twee UFOs, zoals zou blijken uit de beelden van de Chinese satelliet?

En 2012, Vladimir Putin annonçait officiellement l'avancée des recherches sur un appareillage électromagnétique permettant la prise de contrôle ou destruction d'un esprit humain à distance. Depuis les débuts de 20ième siècle, on savait que les Russes avaient mis en oeuvres de vastes programmes secrets de recherches sur tous les aspects dits "paranormaux" : télépathie, télékinésie, téléportation, hypnose (faisant encore partie de parapsychologie à l'époque) et voyance à distance ou temporelles. On sait (et pour cause, elle est même appliquée de nos jours dans beaucoup d'hopitaux) que l'hypnose a prouvé sa réalité scientifique, que la télépathie a été également prouvée par de multiples expériences avec succès (et le fait de répéter avec succès une expérience est une preuve en soi), ainsi que la voyance à distance (pouvoir projeter son esprit et voir très loin) qui semble avoir été expérimentée par l'armée avec succès (les américains font d'ailleurs de même que les russes sur le sujet). Il semble également que la recherche sur la télépathie et la vision à distance associées ait amené la possibilité du contrôle des esprits à distance induit.

" Vladimir Poutine a confirmé que la Russie a testé de nouvelles armes psychotroniques qui peut réellement transformer les gens en zombies. Ces armes qui attaquent le système nerveux central de leurs victimes ont été développés par des scientifiques et pourraient être utilisées contre les ennemis de la Russie ou de ses dissidents.
Poutine a décrit que ces armes qui utilisent des rayonnements électromagnétiques, telles que celles des micro-ondes, sont des nouveaux outils pour la réalisation des objectifs politiques et stratégiques. M. Tsyganok a déclaré que les armes ont été récemment testés dans le but de contrôler la foule "et ont porté sur un homme en particulier, pour élever la température de son corps immédiatement comme si elle avait été jetée dans une casserole remplie d'eau très chaude". La recherche sur les armes électromagnétiques a été réalisée à la fois aux États-Unis et la Russie depuis les années 50, mais il semble que la Russie a volé la vedette aux Etats-Unis.
Les détails précis n'ont pas été divulgués, mais des recherches antérieures ont montré que les ondes basse fréquence (ou rayons) peuvent affecter les cellules du cerveau, de modifier les états psychologiques et permettent de transmettre les suggestions et les commandes directement dans les pensées de la personne.
Vladimir Poutine a déclaré que cette technologie est en tout point comparable aux armes nucléaires, mais "plus acceptable en termes de« l'idéologie politique et militaire (!). M. Serdioukov a déclaré que ces armes ont été développés sur la base de nouveaux principes physiques. Armes à énergie dirigée, les armes géophysiques, l'énergie des vagues, des armes génétiques et d'armes psychotroniques, font partie du programme d'acquisition de l'Etat pour la période 2011-2020. "

Les techniques de contrôle de l'esprit ont grandement progressé lorsque l'on a découvert que l'énergie électromagnétique pouvait être utilisée pour influencer, inhiber, ou tuer un homme à distance. Le célèbre scientifique Nicolas Tesla fut un des premiers à approfondir l'étude des effets de l'électromagnétisme sur l'organisme humain, suivi de E. L. Chafee et R.U. Light, qui publièrent en 1934 « Une Méthode pour le Contrôle à Distance de la Stimulation Electrique du Système Nerveux ».
La même année, le scientifique soviétique Leonid L. Vasiliev écrivit Evaluation Critique de la Méthode Hypogénique à propos des découvertes du Docteur I.F. Tomashevsky qui concernaient la possibilité d'influencer le fonctionnement du cerveau par ondes radio. Vasiliev écrivit: "Dans une autre série d'expériences, afin de pouvoir contrôler le sujet lorsqu'il se situait en dehors du laboratoire, un système radio fut utilisé... peu d'expériences de cette sorte furent menées, mais les résultats montraient que l'utilisation de signaux radio augmentait sensiblement les expériences possibles». Dans ce même rapport Vasiliev écrivit: « Tomashevsky (I.F. Tomashevsky, physiologiste Russe reconnu) mena la première expérience sur ce sujet à une distance de une à deux pièces et dans des conditions ne permettant pas au sujet de suspecter qu'il servirait à une expérience. Dans d'autres cas, l'émetteur n'était pas dans la même maison et une autre personne observait les réactions du sujet. Par la suite des expériences furent menées avec succès à des distances considérables... une expérience de ce type fut menée ... la suggestion mentale, poussant le sujet à s'endormir, réussit en moins d'une minute. » 1
Le Professeur E. Cazzamalli est un autre chercheur qui étudia les possibilités d'utilisation de l'électromagnétisme, dans les années 1930. Cazzamalli bombardait les sujets avec des ondes VHF et il « soutint le propos stupéfiant que les sujets hallucinaient lorsqu'ils étaient sous l'influence de son oscillatori telegrafica » 2
Andrija Puharich, de l'Université du Nord Ouest, fut aussi, dans les années 1940, un des premiers chercheurs sur les effets de l'électromagnétisme qui approfondit l'étude des effets des ondes radio sur les animaux. Puharich créa en 1948 un laboratoire nommé « La Fondation de la Table Ronde d'Electrobiologie », à proximité de Camden dans le Maine, qu'il surnommait modestement « une grange dans la forêt ». Ce bâtiment à un étage, d'environ 30 mètres par 15 était à peine une étable. Pendant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, il avait été utilisé par la Marine, officiellement comme entrepôt.
Warren S. McCulloch était un des associés de Puharich à la Table Ronde. Il fut un des fondateurs de la théorie cybernétique et travailla à l'hôpital Bellevue de New York. McCulloch fut un des premiers promoteurs des implants électroniques dans le cerveau, et présida des conférences sponsorisées par Josiah Macy, de la fondation Jr., une officine de la CIA dédiée au contrôle de l'esprit. John Hays Hammond, dont on a dit qu'il fut le seul élève de Nicolas Tesla, était un autre associé de Puharich. Il était lui-aussi intéressé par l'utilisation de l'électromagnétisme pour influencer l'esprit humain. Après la dissolution de la Table Ronde de Puharich il passa du temps à étudier les effets de l'électronique sur l'organisme humain avec le sociologue Aldous Huxley à Tecate au Mexique. En 1954 Puharich fut employé par la C.I.A. au Centre Militaire de la Guerre Chimique et Biologique de Fort Detrick au Maryland, à des recherches sur les effets du L.S.D. Il étudia les effets des drogues digitoïdes à la Fondation de la Recherche Permanente grâce à des fonds de Sandoz Chemical Works. 3 Une des réalisation de Puharich est la conception d'un composant radio à implanter dans la dent, dont les spécifications techniques furent vendues à la C.I.A. En 1987, lors d'une conférence sur l'électromagnétisme, Puharich décrivit son invention: « Nous étions capables de développer un système d'écoute qui tient dans la couronne d'une dent et nous pouvions entendre clairement grâce à un petit relais émetteur/transmetteur et malheureusement ce fut rapidement classé par une agence de notre gouvernement. Mais nous avions trouvé la solution technique. » L'implant dentaire est peut être encore utilisé. D'après Chemical and Engineering News du 5 février 1996, dans un article intitulé « Un professeur de Hong Kong attaque les USA pour contrôle de l'esprit »: 4 « Le South China Morning Post a rapporté le 25 janvier qu'un Professeur Assistant à l'Université des Sciences et Technologies de Hong Kong, a formulé une demande d'indemnisation de cent millions de dollars au gouvernement américain pour l'implantation d'un dispositif de contrôle de l'esprit dans sa dent. Huang Si-Ming a confié à la reporter du Morning Post, Patricia Young, que cet équipement a été implanté lors d'une opération du canal dentaire en 1991, alors qu'il étudiait à l'Université de l'Iowa. Un autre étudiant de l'Université de l'Iowa, lui aussi né en Chine, avait été pris d'une crise de folie meurtrière et, d'après Huang, les fédéraux lui ont mis cet implant dentaire afin de savoir s'il était impliqué. Le Professeur de Hong Kong dit qu'il a souffert d'une maladie de la mémoire, similaire à la maladie d'Alzheimer, qui rendait son travail difficile. D'après lui, cela prit fin uniquement lorsqu'il rechercha une aide légale pour intenter un procès. En plus des USA, l'Université des Sciences et Technologies est poursuivie, considérant qu'elle est impliquée pour avoir continué le travail de contrôle de l'esprit. Un million de dollars sont aussi demandés pour « non respect des conditions d'éthique ». Huang dit que l'un des composants dans sa dent peut lire ses pensées et parler à son esprit lorsqu'il est endormi. Il croit qu'un deuxième équipement transmet les images de ce qu'il voit à un récepteur, pour enregistrement. Le contrôleur de l'esprit, dit-il, peut l'amener à de mauvais comportements. Il donne deux exemples, dont un ne peut pas être mentionné dans un magasine familial. » Huang n'est pas le seul à se plaindre d'avoir un implant de contrôle dans ses dents. David B. raconte: « Les rayons X montrèrent un objet en métal dans la partie gauche de mon corps, sous la mâchoire, dans les tissus mous de mon cou. En mai 1996, je le fit enlever et demandais à plusieurs médecins s'il avait pu s'incruster là lors d'une extraction, ils répondirent 'possible, mais peu '. La plupart considérèrent qu'il avait transpercé mon cou depuis l'extérieur. Je transmis les radiographies au Docteur Sims et il organisa l'opération. Bizarrement, ceci fut l'occasion de découvrir un petit objet dans mon épaule. Le Docteur Leer m'appela après avoir reçu les radiographies et me demanda si j'avais fracturé mon épaule ou si j'avais été victime d'une explosion. Je lui dis que non. Il me dit que la raison de son appel était que les radios montraient nettement une vis dans mon épaule gauche. Il dit que cela ressemblait à l'opération d'une épaule fracturée. Je n'avais jamais fracturé mon épaule et demandait à ma mère pour confirmer. Elle me dit que je n'avais pas eu d'opération lors de mon enfance. Ceci est un mystère complet. Pendant les six premiers mois de torture (extrême à cette période), je me rendis chez un dentiste pour lui faire part de ma douleur localisée sous ma nouvelle prothèse dentaire, qui avait été installée quelques mois avant l'attaque. Il l'enleva mais j'étais encore en contact. Je décidais de ne plus m'occuper de la dent et me concentra sur ma gorge, par erreur. Sur les radiographies et le scanner une des dents est très brillante et sur une des images du scanner des rayons blancs en émanent. Les personnes que j'ai interrogé m'ont dit qu'il s'agissait probablement d'interférences dûes au métal. » 5 En Union Soviétique, lors d'une réunion tenue le 22 mai 1963 au bureau du Professeur Zinoniev, situé au Ministère de l'Education Supérieure et Secondaire Spécialisée, une revue des recherches menées par les Soviétiques concernant l'électromagnétisme fut présentée. Lors de cette réunion de 16 scientifiques, le Professeur Artemov mentionna une « machine de travail de l'esprit ». Artemov dit que dans le futur proche un émetteur d'ondes électromagnétiques de la taille d'un poste à transistor serait utilisé pour stimuler la créativité et l'énergie mentale. Artemov dit que les premiers modèles de cette machine avaient la taille d'un bureau, mais que maintenant des équipements portables étaient utilisés. 6 Les soviétiques travaillaient aussi à des applications moins bénignes de l'électromagnétisme. Aux alentours des années 1960, comme le rappelle le spécialiste des micro-ondes Milton Zaret, il fut approché par la C.I.A. Zaret avait travaillé sur un projet de l'Air Force pour évaluer le danger potentiel de lésion des yeux pour les techniciens radars et micro-ondes, mais la C.I.A. était intéressée par des sujets plus mystérieux. Ils s'intéressaient aux effets des micro-ondes sur le comportement humain et la possibilité de les utiliser pour le lavage de cerveau. Plus tard, en 1965, ils révélèrent à Zaret la raison de leur intérêt: l'Ambassade des Etats-Unis à Moscou était bombardée de micro-ondes par les Soviétiques, avec un rayonnement qu'il surnommaient le « Signal de Moscou ». Zaret fut instruit du projet Pandora, mené par le gouvernement dans le but de trouver pourquoi les Soviétiques bombardaient l'ambassade et peut-être de pouvoir utiliser ces recherches dans son propre intérêt. Une des expériences de Pandora consistait à irradier des singes avec des impulsions de micro-ondes. Le chef du programme détermina que « la possibilité d'exercer un certain niveau de contrôle sur le comportement humain en utilisant des micro-ondes de faible intensité semble exister et nécessite d'étudier sans tarder l'utilisation possible de micro-ondes en tant qu'arme. » Zaret mena ses propres tests et conclut que « Quelques-soient les raisons des Russes, ils croyaient qu'ils modifieraient le comportement du personnel. » 7 Les recommandations de Zaret furent simples. Le gouvernement américain devait demander aux soviétiques d'arrêter d'irradier ses employés. Le personnel de l'ambassade devait être instruit de ce qui se passait, ce qui n'avait pas été fait, et on devait leur proposer la possibilité d'être transféré vers d'autres régions du monde. On assura Zaret que ces recommandations seraient suivies mais la seule mesure qui fut prise fut que le Président Lyndon B. Johnson demanda aux soviétiques d'arrêter l'irradiation. Ils l'ignorèrent. Les employés de l'ambassade ne surent jamais qu'ils étaient soumis à des radiations électromagnétiques, ni que les tests montraient que nombre d'entre-eux avaient de graves problèmes médicaux. L'ambassadeur Walter J. Stoessel avait des saignements des yeux et on diagnostiqua une maladie du sang similaire à une leucémie. Les deux ambassadeurs précédents étaient morts de cancer. Des tests menés par le Département d'Etat trouvèrent un compte « légèrement élevé » de globules blancs dans le sang d'un tiers des employés, mais en réalité cette augmentation atteignait 40% de plus que la normale. Plusieurs enfants des employés de l'ambassade présentaient des troubles du sang. Ils n'eurent connaissance de l'origine de leurs maladies qu'en 1972, lorsque le journaliste Jack Anderson alarma le public en publiant un article sur le « Signal de Moscou ». Ils est possible que le projet Pandora soit à l'origine des propos du Docteur Alan Frey qui rapporta en 1961 que les micro-ondes sont parfois audibles par les humains, bien que sa découverte fut rejetée par plusieurs scientifiques qui considéraient qu'ils s'agissait de bruits extérieurs à l'expérience. L'expérience de Frey fut décrite en détail par James C. Lin, dans Effets Auditifs des Micro-ondes et leurs applications: 8 « Frey détermina que les sujets exposés à des ondes de fréquence 1310 Mhz et 2982 Mhz, à des intensités moyennes de 0,4 à 2 mW/cm2, percevaient des sensations auditives décrites comme des bourdonnements ou des claquements... Les puissances pic étaient de l'ordre de 200 à 300 mW/cm2 et la fréquence de répétition des impulsions variait de 200 à 400 hz... Frey appelait ce phénomène acoustique 'son radio-fréquence (RF)'. La sensation apparaissait instantanément à des densités de puissance bien inférieures à celles causant des dégradations biologiques et semblait être localisée à l'intérieur ou à proximité de l'arrière de la tête. » 10 La découverte de Frey connut d'importantes déclinaisons. Dans son article « Réponse du Système Auditif Humain aux Energies Electromagnétiques Modulées », il explique: « comment des voix peuvent être émises directement dans la tête d'un individu ». D'autres domaines d'étude concernaient l'induction de crise cardiaque par un rayonnement électromagnétique. 11 Parmi les chercheurs impliqués dans Pandora, se trouve le Docteur NaziDeitrich Beischer, qui fut récupéré lors de l'opération Paperclip et qui irradia, avec des niveaux d'énergie dangereux, 7000 marins au Laboratoire Naval de Recherches Aérospatiales de Pensacola en Floride. Beischer disparut en 1977 et son histoire professionnelle et toute trace de son existence furent expurgées. Le chercheur espagnol Jose Delgado était lui-aussi impliqué dans Pandora. 9 En 1972, le Département aux Armées publia un rapport titré «Comportement Offensif Contrôlé U.R.S.S. » présentant 500 études russes sur l'usage d'« Oscillations Electromagnétiques Super-haute Fréquences ». Ce rapport montrait que « les très hautes fréquences peuvent être utilisées pour modifier le comportement humain. » «Des effets létaux et non létaux ont été démontrés. Lors de certaines expositions non-létales, des modifications précises du comportement ont été observées .» 12 La même année le Centre de Recherches sur les Equipements Mobiles de l'Armée U.S. publia une étude titrée « Analyse des Micro-ondes en tant que Barrière de Défense ». Le rapport présentait l'utilisation d'un équipement transportable sur un camion afin de diffuser des ondes capables d'immobiliser les personnes et affirmait que dans l'état de l'art il n'existait pas d'équipement de protection contre ce dispositif. 13 A la même époque, l'ingénieur en électronique Tom Jaski conduisait des expériences mettant en oeuvre un oscillateur de faible puissance émettant dans la bande de fréquence 300-600 Mhz pour irradier les personnes. Lors d'essais répétés, les sujets étaient capables de ressentir le déplacement du rayonnement et « à des fréquences précises, les mêmes sujets dirent avoir perçu des sensations de pulsations dans le cerveau, de sonnerie dans les oreilles et une envie furieuse de mordre les expérimentateurs. » 14 Alors que les recherches sur le contrôle de l'esprit progressaient, le potentiel des micro-ondes pour influencer de manière directe et précise le comportement humain devint évident. Des technologies permettant de projeter directement dans la tête de sujet « en aveugle » des émotions et des commandes subliminales furent développées par les gouvernements américain et soviétique. Parmi de nombreux autres projets, le Département de la Défense proposa en 1974 l'utilisation d'émissions radio permettant un contrôle par l'hypnose:
Schapitz écrivit « Dans cette enquête... il sera montré que les mots prononcés par un hypnotiseur peuvent être transportés par énergie électromagnétique directement dans la partie subconsciente du cerveau humain i.e. sans employer aucun équipement pour la réception et la démodulation du signal et sans que la personne soumise à cette influence n'ait une chance de contrôler volontairement l'information insérée. La seconde expérience devait être la suggestion mentale d'actes simples, comme le fait de quitter le laboratoire pour aller acheter un article particulier, qui devaient être déclenchés par une heure donnée, des mots ou des signes. Les sujets devaient être interviewés par la suite. Il était envisagé que les sujets arrivent à contrôler leur comportement et puissent exercer leur liberté de conscience. »
Les résultats des expériences de Schapitz ne furent jamais rendus publics. 15 En 1978, le Docteur Andrew Michrowski écrivit que: « potentiellement pratiquement n'importe quoi pourrait être inséré dans le cerveau visé et de telles insertions seraient traitées par le système biologique comme des donnés/effets générés en interne. Des mots, des phrases, des images, des sensations et émotions pourraient être insérés et ressentis par la cible biologique comme des états, codes, émotions, idées et pensées internes. » 16 Le 20 avril 1976, un brevet fut déposé concernant un « Appareil et Méthode pour Capter et Altérer à Distance les Ondes Cérébrales ». Son inventeur était Robert G. Malech, de New York. D'après le résumé du brevet c'est « un appareil et la méthode pour détecter les ondes cérébrales à partir d'une position distante du sujet de telle manière que des signaux électromagnétiques de plusieurs fréquences sont transmises simultanément au cerveau du sujet. » Bien qu'utilisant un jargon technique le « Résumé de l'Invention » comporte des informations intéressantes pour le chercheur: « Cette invention concerne l'appareil et la méthode pour détecter les ondes cérébrales alors que tous les composants de l'appareil sont situés à distance du sujet. Plus spécifiquement les émetteurs hautes fréquences sont utilisés pour rayonner des énergies électromagnétiques de plusieurs fréquences grâce à des antennes qui peuvent balayer la totalité du cerveau du sujet ou une région précise. Les différents signaux pénètrent le crâne de l'individu et affectent son cerveau ou ils se mélangent avec les ondes induites par l'activité électrique normale du cerveau, générant une onde d'interférence. Cette onde d'interférence est détectée par une antenne située dans une station à distance où elle est démodulée et analysée pour déterminer l'état des ondes cérébrales du sujet. En plus de détecter passivement les ondes cérébrales du sujet, l'état neurologique du sujet peut être affecté en transmettant à son cerveau un signal de compensation. Ce signal peut être issu du retraitement des ondes cérébrales précédemment reçues. » 17 Dans les années 1980 à 1983, le Corps des Marines à financé des recherches d'armes électromagnétiques dirigées par le spécialiste en ingénierie biomédicale Eldon Byrd. La part du lion de ces recherches furent conduites par l'Institut de Recherche en Radiobiologie des Forces Armées à Bethesda, Maryland. Des recherches furent réalisées sur de petits animaux et Byrd lui-même. Son intérêt se portait sur la possibilité d'influencer ou d'asservir l'activité cérébrale d'organismes vivants grâce à des ondes électromagnétiques. Utilisant des émissions électromagnétiques, Byrd rapporte « Nous pouvions plonger un animal dans la stupeur en les frappant de ces fréquences. Nous avions des cerveaux d'oiseau in vitro afin d'y déverser 80% des opioïdes naturellement présents. Les effets étaient non-létaux et réversibles. Vous pourriez inactiver une personne temporairement. » Il suggère que « cela aurait été comme un pistolet hypodermique ». Le programme de recherche de Byrd devait durer 4 ans mais il fut fermé au bout de 2. Byrd révèle que ce n'était pas l'échec des recherches qui en était la raison: « Le travail était vraiment de qualité. Nous aurions pu développer une arme en moins d'un an. » Byrd suppose que ce travail ne fut pas arrêté mais qu'il fut simplement changé en un programme clandestin. Cette affirmation n'est pas excentrique sachant que plusieurs autres chercheurs dans le domaine de l'électromagnétisme rapportent les mêmes faits : leurs travaux leurs ont été retirés au moment précis ou ils commençaient à obtenir des résultats concluants. Une revue aussi conservatrice que la Revue Internationale de la Croix Rouge a reconnu l'existence, en 1990, d'armes à rayonnement dans le domaine militaire. Les auteurs de l'article titré «Le Développement de Nouvelles Armes Antipersonnelles » affirment: « Les effets induits dans les êtres humains par les ondes électromagnétiques ont été connus, bien qu'imparfaitement, depuis longtemps et ont donné lieu à des recherches continues. En fonction de la fréquence utilisée, du mode d'émission, de l'énergie émise et de la forme et de la durée de l'impulsion, les radiations électromagnétiques dirigées sur le corps humain peuvent produire un échauffement et causer de graves brûlures ou même changer la structure moléculaire des tissus touchés. Les recherches dans ce domaine ont été menées dans pratiquement tous les pays développés , spécialement dans les 'grandes puissances' dans le but d'utiliser ces phénomènes pour un usage anti-matériel ou anti-personnel. Des tests ont montré que des impulsions micro-ondes puissantes pourraient être utilisées en tant qu'arme dans le but de mettre l'adversaire hors de combat (en français dans le texte) ou même de le tuer. Il est possible aujourd'hui de générer des impulsions très puissantes (entre 150 et 3000 Mhz), avec un niveau d'énergie de plusieurs centaines de mégawatts. En utilisant des antennes spécialement adaptées, ces générateurs peuvent en théorie transmettre à plusieurs centaines de mètres assez d'énergie pour cuire un repas. Néanmoins, il est important de mentionner que des effets incapacitants peuvent être obtenus par ce type d'équipement en utilisant des niveaux d'énergie bien plus faibles. En utilisant le principe de la focalisation des ondes, qui permet de contrôler la géométrie de la cible, grâce à des systèmes d'antenne spécialement étudiés, l'énergie émise peut être concentrée sur de petites surfaces du corps humain, par exemple la base du cerveau, où une relativement faible énergie peut produire la mort. » En 1991, l'agence de presse ITV rapporta le premier cas connu d'utilisation d'une arme subliminale sur le champ de bataille et « la véritable raison de l'attaque, semble-t-il illogique, et apparemment suicidaire, des troupes Irakiennes contre la ville désertée de Al-Khafji 12 kilomètres au sud de la frontière koweïtienne... » D'après ITV les irakiens réussirent leur attaque destinée à détruire une station radio FM qui avait été installée à Al-Khafji par le service des opérations PSI du Département de la Défense des U.S.A. Bien que la station semblait ouvertement diffuser de la propagande de type « Tokyo Rose », des déserteurs irakiens ont soutenu que la véritable mission de cette station était de diffuser « le nouveau type de messages subliminaux de haute technologie, dénommé 'son silencieux' ou 'subliminaux silencieux' de ultra haute fréquence. » D'après ITV, « Bien que totalement silencieux pour l'oreille humaine, les messages négatifs ajoutés sur les bandes au-dessus du programme audible par les spécialistes des opérations PSI étaient clairement perçus par le subconscient des soldats irakiens et ces messages silencieux les démoralisaient complètement en instillant un sentiment permanent de peur dans leur esprit. » 18 En 1993 une « Méthode pour Induire des Etats Mentaux, Emotionnels et Physiques Inconscients, Incluant des Activités Mentales Spécifiques, dans l'Etre Humain » fut déposée par son inventeur, Robert A. Monroe. Feu Monroe était un pionnier de ce qui est dénommé « vision à distance », ou voyage hors du corps, et il fonda l'Institut Monroe à Charlottesville, Virginie. On considère qu'il avait des relations étroites avec la CIA. 19 Le résumé de l'invention de Monroe précise que des états de conscience spécifiques peuvent être induits « par la génération de signaux audio stéréophoniques ayant des formes d'ondes spécifiques » et que « selon l'invention, les ondes cérébrales humaines, du type EEG, sont superposées sur des signaux audio stéréo spécifiques, connus en tant que fréquences porteuses et qui sont audibles pour l'oreille humaine. » Monroe fit évoluer son invention et déposa le brevet intitulé « Fonctionnement d'un Appareil pour Induire des Etats de Conscience Donnés », apparemment un type nouveau et amélioré de sa proposition initiale. 20
En 1982, la Revue de Biotechnologie de l'US Air Force prévenait que : « Les champs de radiations radiofréquences (RFR) pourraient constituer une grave et révolutionnaire menace pour le personnel militaire les expériences portant sur les RFR et la compréhension croissante du fonctionnement du cerveau comme étant un organe électrique suggèrent avec une forte probabilité que des champs électromagnétiques puissants peuvent interrompre le comportement normal et pourraient être capable de connaître et diriger les comportements. De plus, le passage d'environ 100 milliampères à travers le myocarde peut mener à un arrêt cardiaque et la mort, ceci mettant encore en avant la fulgurance de ce type d'arme. Un système RFR permettant de balayer à grande vitesse le terrain pourrait étourdir ou tuer les troupes sur une grande étendue. » Il y a peu de doutes qu'il existe des systèmes de contrôle des foulesutilisant les radiofréquences. Le développement de ce type d'équipement viendrait en complément des armes acoustiques et à infra-rouge, qui sont bien connues et étaient publiées dans le Catalogue de la Défense Britannique jusqu'en 1983. Ceci incluait le « Valkyrie », un équipement à infra-rouge provoquant une héméralopie et le « Haut Parleur » (dans le texte « Squawk Box ») ou « Son Terrifiant » (dans le texte «Sound Curdler »), développé par les USA lors de la guerre du Vietnam. La "Haut Parleur" était étudié pour induire une sensation de vertige et la nausée. Cette arme est directionnelle, ce qui permet d'atteindre les individus de manière invisible et de répandre la détresse et la confusion dans la foule... En 1984 le Ministère de la Défense ordonna que toutes publicités et toutes références aux « armes à fréquences » soient supprimées du Catalogue de la Défense ». 21 Dès 1993, l'Institut National de la Justice (NIJ), un service du Département de la Justice, recommandait dans son « Initiative du NIJ à propos des Armes Moins Que Létales », que les services de police fédérales et locales d'Amérique utilisent des armes psychotroniques électromagnétiques et autres types d'armes de contrôle de l'esprit contre les citoyens américains qui seraient impliqués dans des troubles à l'ordre public un terme très large incluant même les querelles familiales. Le rapport mentionnait « Des recherches seront complétées à court terme pour adapter des technologies militaires au maintien de l'ordre public incluant les lasers, les micro-ondes et l'électromagnétisme ». Le Washington Post rapporte que « le Pentagone et le Département de la Justice se sont accordés pour partager leurs connaissances technologiques avec les agences civiles de maintien de l'ordre, y compris en ce qui concerne les « exotiques » armes non-létales. » Cette nouvelle approche de maintien de l'ordre fut mise en scène lors d'une conférence secrète de trois jours sur les armes non létales au Laboratoire de Physique Appliquée de l'Université Johns Hopkins dans le Maryland. Le Président de la conférence était le Colonel John B. Alexander, Directeur de Projet de la défense non-létale (psychotronique) au Laboratoire National de Los Alamos. Le Procureur Général Janet Reno, des spécialistes de l'armement militaire et des représentants de la police fédérale et locale étaient conviés. Une grande variété de sujets furent couverts lors de cette conférence, y compris « les armes radio-fréquence, les technologies à micro-ondes de puissance, la synthèse vocale et les applications des champs électromagnétiques de fréquences extrêmes comme armes non-létales. » L'US Air Force a installé des générateurs de puissance de micro-ondes sur des missiles de croisière aériens. L'objectif officiel du générateur de rayonnement est d'être un élément de la guerre électronique permettant de griller les circuits informatiques, mais ces générateurs pourraient aussi en théorie griller les fragiles composants du cerveau humain. 22 Est-ce que l'armement électromagnétique a déjà dépassé le stade expérimental pour être utilisé sur des humains ? Est-ce qu'il a déjà été utilisé sur une population innocente comme les drogues et d'autres formes de manipulation du comportement utilisées lors du programme MKULTRA ? Des milliers de personnes partout dans le monde le croient. Ils soutiennent que des armes d'assaut électronique ont été utilisées contre eux, soit pour faire des expériences, soit pour harcèlement. Le nombre incontestable de ces récits, la concordance avec ce qui a été confirmé concernant les expériences du gouvernement, et la crédibilité des personnes soutenant fermement ces témoignages amènent à croire à l'utilisation occulte de ces armes sur des civils.
Martin C. Mark est un de ceux qui affirme avoir été irradié par un rayonnement électronique. Dans une lettre ouverte M. Mack décrivit son expérience: « Je suis un ancien chauffeur routier, maintenant en retraite. Mes problèmes ont commencé à l'automne 1987 quand j'ai loué une chambre à Seattle, Washington. Le locataire qui était mon voisin avait des visiteurs qui essayaient de n'être pas vu de moi. J'entendais des commentaires sur mes actes, venant me semblait-il de sa chambre. D'une manière ou d'une autre ils étaient capables de me faire entendre et aussi de capter mon audition entendre ce que j'entendais. Aussi étrange que cela paraisse, ma tête paraissait être une sorte d'antenne et je captais des choses, non pas de manière subliminale mais audible. Ils connaissaient mes allées et venues et faisaient des commentaires. Lorsque j'étais à l'hôtel, j'entendais des paroles concernant ce que je faisais. Ils pouvaient rapporter la plupart de ce que je faisais dans cet immeuble. J'ai supposé qu'ils devaient avoir un moyen quelconque de me voir. J'entendais des propositions de se débarrasser de moi en rapport à ce qu'ils étaient en train de faire, tel que 'le stinger va atteindre 35 pieds' et 'il y a un miroir sans tain dans le hall ', 'faisons lui tester!'. Ceci a eu lieu avant que je sorte, et après: 'il a un microphone dans la gorge'. Bien-sûr, je n'en ai pas. Il était entendu qu'ils pouvaient capter ce que j'exprimais.Tout ceci me semblait irréel. Etant donné tout ce qui a filtré au cours de ces années je sais que ces faits sont réels, quelque soit ce que d'autres personnes peuvent en penser. Une nuit ma colonne vertébrale devint très chaude. Cette région est sensible à la chaleur et c'est une partie du système nerveux. La chaine de réflexe qui passe dans la colonne fut excitée et mon corps fit un sursaut. Ils pouvaient chauffer jusqu'à la douleur l'arrière de mes omoplates. L'os qui les couvre est sensible à la douleur. Ils décidèrent de me faire quitter cet endroit et y réussirent avant la fin du mois. Il y a un moyen de rendre une personne spécifiquement sensible à certaines fréquences radio porteuses modulées et cela fut réalisé sur moi lorsque j'étais là-bas. Avant de partir, je demandais combien de temps étaient restés les deux précédents locataires de cette chambre. 'Un mois ou deux', dit le manager. Je n'étais pas blessé trop gravement après qu'ils m'aient forcé à déménager. A propos du contrôle du de l'esprit et du comportement: Il n'y a pas vraiment d'intérêt à stimuler une personne si vous n'avez pas une réponse audible ou visible du sujet. Ce qui est sûr c'est qu'ils m'ont entendu. Voici comment je pense que cela est réalisé: une fréquence porteuse non modulée est émise depuis un endroit, de préférence de fréquence basse. Elle passe dans la colonne et la tête du sujet. L'onde porteuse est modulée par l'activité électromagnétique résultant de l'audition (le discours et le discours interne de la victime). Le produit du mélange des ondes est récupéré. Je suppose que les champs parasites sont filtrés par le récepteur. Si ce qui est reçu par les assaillants leur déplait un stimulus douloureux est incorporé à la porteuse pour infliger une peine au sujet afin de forcer le contrôle du comportement et de la pensée. Il y a encore bien plus que cela. Toutes sortes de réponses peuvent être portées dans le corps et la tête par la modulation d'une fréquence porteuse par diverses fréquence audibles et énergies: des voix et des douleurs crâniennes, des douleurs aux oreilles et autres localisation et même des douleurs cardiaques, induisant une forme de torture et la mort. Un très fort claquement peut être infligé à l'avant de la tête. Le son peut être modulé avec des pics et causer des chocs douloureux. Des douleurs et des piqûres aux yeux ont été causées. La torture par une un échauffement aigu est supposément due à une mise en vibration des molécules situées dans l'extrémité des récepteurs nerveux de la chaleur. Pendant qu'ils sont en train de penser à ce qu'ils font ou sont en train de lire, certaines personnes utilisent le discours intérieur ou l'expression silencieuse. La trachée a un fonctionnement piézoélectrique et agit comme un capteur. Le discours intérieur a été enregistré directement à partir de la gorge par des chercheurs. Il existe depuis longtemps des éléments montrant qu'ils sont capables d'intercepter le champ électromagnétique lié au discours interne. Ils ont commenté ce que je me disais intérieurement à de nombreuses reprises. Les muscles des épaules peuvent être rendus tendus et douloureux, ceux du cou aussi. Le muscle cardiaque peut être rendu douloureux. Je suis surveillé 24 heures sur 24. Mon sommeil est réduit chaque nuit. Les assaillant avaient besoin d'un cobaye pour tester leur équipement sur le terrain et ils ont largement pratiqué sur moi.. » 23 Regina Cullen, une résidente du Royaume Unis, rapporte elle aussi avoir été victime d'attaques électroniques. Elle pense qu'elle a été visée à cause d'une plainte portée contre la police locale en 1984. Après avoir subi divers type de harcèlement, comme avoir les pneus de son vélo crevés, sa voiture fracturée et avoir été molestée deux fois, elle rapporte que « une nouvelle forme de harcèlement apparue: ma maison était inhabitable à cause 'd'attaques de fréquences'. Je sais maintenant que ce sont des micro-ondes et/ou des infrasons qui transformaient ma chambre en un lieux de torture. » Cullen rapporte qu'elle était harcelée par un «bourdonnement irrégulier » dont elle ne pouvait pas dire d'où il provenait, apparemment plus intense lorsqu'elle était étendue... Cela se répercutait principalement dans la zone juste à l'arrière des oreilles, vers l'os mastoïde qui est plein de poches d'air et cela me causait des douleurs aux yeux ainsi qu'une sensation de confusion au niveau du front et comme si on agissait dessus. » Elle fut forcée de déménager plusieurs fois dans les années qui ont suivi. Elle dit que « parfois j'étais contrainte et forcée de quitter ma maison, où je revenais au milieu de la nuit alors que tout était calme et dix ou vingt minutes plus tard les attaques de fréquences recommençaient. »
A propos d'un de ses résidences elle dit: « Je pense que la source d'émission était au dessus, à moins qu'un système miniaturisé ait été utilisé dans mon propre appartement, car cela ce passait au 11ème étage. Il n'y avait pas de maison aussi haute dans les environ et l'appartement au-dessus était habité par le gérant de l'immeuble. Le jour où cela est arrivé il y avait un homme semblant dormir dans une voiture rouge parquée à moitié sur le trottoir devant l'entrée principale de l'immeuble. J'ai tout de suite eu peur de lui, mais me retint d'être paranoïaque. Deux semaines plus tard alors que je poursuivais un bus et que le regardais par dessus mon épaule, je l'ai vu se cacher derrière une camionnette pour que je ne le vois pas. » Cullen rapporte aussi que « Précédemment, alors que j'étais retournée dans le coin nuit de mon studio, j'eu l'intuition de regarder par le judas de la porte alors que, dans le couloir, un homme en imperméable, genre détective, qui prenait garde de ne pas se faire entendre, donnait au malfaiteur une boite étrange, avec des demi-sphères en plastique orange de chaque côté. Peu après je l'ai nettement vu transporter une sorte de petite suspension en forme d'arbre de noël et il semblait irrité que je l'ai vu. » Une fois, alors que Cullen était dans son jardin, « Quelque-chose qui m'a frappé dans la tête avec un drôle de son comme 'fzzzzzzssst' semblait venir de l'autre côté de la clôture. J'étais terrifiée et ne pouvais plus dormir. Plus ou moins une année après, alors que je me trouvais devant la fenêtre à l'avant de ma maison, avec les rideaux ouverts, le même phénomène eu lieu et ma télé afficha immédiatement de la « neige ». Cette fois le rayonnement provenait de l'autre côté du jardin et en hauteur, précisément de l'endroit ou en 1986 était apparu pendant un court instant une pinceau de lumière blanche visant la fenêtre de ma salle de bain. » Cullen décrit deux types d'attaques électroniques: « Les symptômes de type 1 incluent une sensation étrange que les deux hémisphères de mon cerveau se séparent, créant un espace entre les deux, comme si des parties de mon cerveau étaient réorganisées dans l'espace, comme dans les peintures cubistes. Il y a une légère impression de boursouflure du visage, un écrasement du nez et de perte des contours. » Les symptômes de type 2 incluent la sensation que « je ne pouvais pratiquement pas respirer et avais l'impression d'être dans un four. Chaque respiration était comme respirer l'air brûlant du désert, accompagné des habituels mots de tête et d'une grande lassitude, les yeux douloureux et fatigués, de la fatigue, une peau chaude brûlante, de douleurs cicatricielles et un sentiment accablant d'oppression, de mal et d'inutilité. » 24 D'autre cas significatifs d'attaques électroniques ont été rapportés par des victimes supposées de harcèlement de l'esprit qui ont vu des équipements suspects dans l'environnement de leur habitation. Plusieurs de ces récits ont été recensés par l'Association des Anciens de la Sécurité Nationale dans le cadre de leur Projet de Surveillance Electronique, dans le but de documenter et faire connaître les cas d'abus de contrôle de l'esprit aux USA. Une des femmes étudiées par le Projet de Surveillance Électronique rapporte qu'elle avait discuté avec son voisin, qui prétendait être un officier de renseignement militaire employé dans une entreprise de technologie spatiale, et être actuellement chargé d'un travail d'une année dans leur immeuble. Il fut par la suite trouvé que cette personne n'était pas un personnel militaire. Lorsque ce prétendu officier de renseignement militaire déménagea, sa voisine se rendit dans l'appartement et y trouva un équipement de la taille d'un four à micro-ondes et constata que le mur donnant sur son appartement avait été « creusé ». Une autre supposée victime de harcèlement par contrôle de l'esprit regarda par le fenêtre de l'appartement de son voisin pour y voir une boîte grise de 30 cm par 1mètre 50. Une lentille noire pointait dans la direction de son appartement. D'après le témoin, le boite était manipulée par un homme en costume trois pièces qui sembla saisit lorsqu'il constata qu'il était observé. » 25

And there are thousands of witness reports and a quantity of documents to prove this, but nobody wants to make them public. Why? I believe that these extraterrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets, which are a little more technically advanced than we are on Earth. I feel that we need to have a top level, coordinated program to scientifically collect and analyze data from all over the Earth concerning any type of encounter, and to determine how best to interfere with these visitors in a friendly fashion. We may first have to show them that we have learned how to resolve our problems by peaceful means rather than warfare, before we are accepted as fully qualified universal team members. Their acceptance will have tremendous possibilities of advancing our world in all areas. Certainly then it would seem that the U.N. has a vested interest in handling the subject quickly and properly. I should point out that I am not an experienced UFO professional researcher I have not as yet had the privilege of flying a UFO nor of meeting the crew of one. However, I do feel that I am somewhat qualified to discuss them, since I have been into the fringes of the vast areas of which they travel. Also, I did have occasion in 1951 to have two days of observation of many flights of them, of different sizes flying in fighter formation, generally from west to east over Europe. They were at a higher altitude than we could reach with our jet fighters .If the U.N. agrees to pursue this project and lend the credibility to it, perhaps many more well qualified people will agree to step forth and provide help and information.

The above message was given to the U.N. by Astronaut Gordon L. Cooper, one of Americas original seven Mercury Astronauts. Cooper orbited the Earth for a record 34 hour, 22 orbit flight in the spacecraft Faith 7′, in May of 1963. He has been outspoken about the need for an open inquiry into UFOs based on his own personal experience of sighting UFOs in space and the testimony of other Mercury, Gemini and Apollo Astronauts.
GORDON COOPER & UFOs: AN ASTRONAUT SPEAKS OUT

One of the few individuals whose prominence is beyond question has, however, over the past few months, dared to open his mouth and challenge the status quo. Gordon Cooper was one of Americas original astronauts. He helped pioneer this countrys space exploration efforts when, aboard a tiny space capsule known as Mercury [Faith] 7, Cooper orbited the Earth for 34 hours, proving that man could live outside our atmosphere for prolonged periods. His patriotism, bravery and respectability go without saying Cooper has recently made several public pronouncements concerning his strong belief in UFOs. While a guest on the Merv Griffin Show, Cooper shocked the viewing audiences by speaking for over five minutes on a topic that was only within the past few years often considered too bizarre for polite conversation. But there were some things that Cooper wouldnt even discuss on the air in front of the curious multitudes. Luckily Lee Spiegel is a personal friend of Gordon Cooper. They have conferred on several occasions, and while in the company of the man who is bound and determined to crack the Cosmic Watergate which he is convinced exists within the higher echelon of government, the former space traveler is more than happy to talk about his UFO experiences and they are many. In the early 1950s, Cooper was assigned to a jet fighter group in Germany.
While stationed there, he remembers very vividly the week an entire formation of circular objects passed over the Air Base on almost a daily routine.We never could get close enough to pin them down, but they were round in shape and very metallic looking, Cooper points out. UFOs were to continue to haunt him when the Air Force Colonel was transferred several years later to Edwards Air Force Base Flight Test Center in the California desert. What happened one afternoon while he was on duty at this military base is evidence enough that the government definitely does keep a lot of secrets when it comes to UFOs! The incident took place in the late 1950s, either 1957 or 1958 as Cooper can best recall; and to this day, the photographic evidence of an actual UFO touching down upon the Earth is being kept under wraps. During this period, Cooper was a Project Manager at Edwards Air Force Base, just three or four years before entering Americas space program. After lunch this particular day, Cooper had assigned a team of photographers to an area of the vast dry lake beds near Edwards. In a taped interview with UFOlogist Lee Spiegel, the former Astronaut disclosed that while the crew was out there, they spotted a strange-looking craft above the lake bed, and they began taking films of it. Cooper says the object was very definitely hovering above the ground. And then it slowly came down and sat on the lake bed for a few minutes. All during this time the motion picture cameras were filming away. There were varied estimates by the cameramen on what the actual size of the object was, Cooper confesses, but they all agreed that it was at least the size of a vehicle that would carry normal-sized people in it. Col. Cooper was not fortunate enough to be outside at the time of this incredible encounter, but he did see the films as soon as they were rushed through the development process. It was a typical circular-shaped UFO, he recollects. Not too many people saw it, because it took off at quite a sharp angle and just climbed straight on out of sight! Cooper admits he didnt take any kind of poll to determine who had seen the craft, because there were always strange things flying around in the air over Edwards. This is a statement Lee Spiegel was able to verify through his own research efforts, having obtained closely guarded tapes of conversations between military pilots circling the base and their commanding officers in the flight tower, tracking the presence of unknown objects. People just didnt ask a lot of questions about things they saw and couldnt understand, notes Cooper, who adds that it was a lot simpler to look the other way, shrug ones shoulders, and chalk up what had been seen to just another experimental aircraft that must have been developed at another area of the air base. But what about the photographic proof the motion picture footage that was taken? I think it was definitely a UFO, Cooper states, as he makes no bones about it. However, where it (the object) came from and who was in it is hard to determine, because it didnt stay around long enough to discuss the matter there wasnt even time to send out a welcoming committee! After he reviewed the film at least a dozen times, the footage was quickly forwarded to Washington. Cooper no doubt expected to get a reply in a few weeks time as to what his men had seen and photographed, but there was no word, and the movie *vanished* never to surface again . On coast-to-coast television, Cooper recently made a blockbuster statement that had the telephone lines tied up the next day, as viewers telephoned the stations which carried the syndicated Merv Griffin Show, anxious to find out if their ears had been playing tricks on them the night before. Toward the end of the talk-show hosts interview with the former Astronaut, Merv broke into a secretive tone of voice right on the air, and aimed a hundred-thousand-dollar question at his guest:
There is a story going around, Gordon, that a spaceship did land in middle America and there were occupants, and members of our government were able to keep one of the occupants alive for a period of time. Theyve seen the metal of the aircraft and they know what the people look like is that a credible story? For all intents and purposes Cooper should have laughed for assuredly such a speculative story belongs in the category of science fiction or space fantasy. But Gordon Cooper kept a straight face when he replied: I think its fairly credible. I would like to see the time when all qualified people could really work together to properly investigate these stories and either refute or prove them. The bombshell had been dropped. Cooper went on to say that from the various reports of UFO contacts and abductions he had been privy to, he was convinced that the occupants of this crashed UFO were probably not that different from what we are, that they are almost totally humanoid (i.e., have two arms, two legs, a torso and readily identifiable facial features) in appearance. Taken aback by what Cooper had said over the national airwaves, Lee Spiegel telephoned Coopers office the following morning and managed to get past his private secretary, though others in the media were getting the cold shoulder. Cooper admitted to me that he could have revealed more on the air, but he decided not to play his entire hand because he felt certain that some official eyebrows were going to get raised.

Denver International Airport (DIA) is the focus of a myriad of conspiracy theories, a fact that they took advantage of this week to promote a commemoration event for reaching the midway point of a large build-out that includes a new public plaza and commuter trains from downtown Denver.
DIA has been plagued with conspiracy theories beginning with trouble during its construction that set it back months. Some said this trouble was actually a ruse to build underground tunnels and rail stations to be used by the elite and possibly even extraterrestrials. Then upon its opening came the discovery of morbid murals depicting scenes of oppression, further evidence for conspiracy theorist that malicious intent was at play. The final draw was the capstone on a time capsule sponsored by a couple of the local Freemason lodges that uses the term New World Airport Commission.
All of this was compelling enough evidence for Jesse Ventura to investigate on his television show Conspiracy Theory. More prosaic and well researched answers, if you need them, are presented in this article by the local Denver newspaper Westword.
DIAs twitter feed hinted at their intent to use these conspiracy theories to promote the event with a tweet Tuesday morning which said they would be having some fun with the event, and that they would be divulging some strange activity. One tweeter speculated, THEYRE UNLEASHING THE DEMONS FROM THE MURALS.
The alien conspiracy marketing of the event began with a tweet by DIA regarding a strange find that was discovery during construction. Attached was a picture of what appears to be a partially recovered alien skull, huge eye socket and all.
