You Can Now See the Damage from Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano from Space
You Can Now See the Damage from Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano from Space
With over 20 fissures still gushing lava on Hawaii’s Big Island, the damage caused by the Kilauea Volcano has become so widespread that it can now be seen from space.
On Friday, the European Space Agency (ESA) tweeted satellite images that were first captured by the Sentinel-2 on May 23. Sentinel-2 is the agency’s Earth observation mission that detects changes in the planet’s surface. The satellite, which offers forest monitoring and natural disaster management, offered surprising new photographs that reveal the extent of Kilauea’s damage.
It’s unusual for volcanic activity to make that great of an impact on satellite imaging, but the Kilauea Volcano has managed to cover nearly 2,400 acres in lava. According to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), at least 82 structures have been damaged or destroyed by lava, 41 of which are homes. Lava spatter has led to serious injuries and the extent of lava flows catalyzed hundreds of displacements, where at least 230 people are now in shelters.
ESA’s satellite images of Hawaii’s Big Island suggest that it’s still possible for the Kilauea lava flows to cut off all access to the Lower Puna area. Government officials have already begun planning helicopter evacuations in preparation of that development.
The latest update from the US Geological Survey (USGS) notes that the fissure system continues to produce robust eruptive activity in the Lower East Rift Zone. Beyond the destruction visible from space, the agency also warns that volcanic gas emissions remain very high from the fissure eruptions.
Stonehenge remains one of the most debated prehistoric monuments in the world. Archaeologists believe the ring of standing stones was erected some time between 3000 BC and 2000 BC, but since the culture who created it left no written records, its ultimate purpose remains unknown. Most theories posit that the structure had some sort of ancient astronomical significance, but those are still debated. Perhaps more mysteriously, scientists still aren’t exactly sure how ancient people could have constructed the monument with the technology available to them.
A long-standing theory about the stones is that they were somehow transported to their current resting place from likely Wales. The particular type of stone used to construct the monument isn’t readily found in the area. However, earlier this year, British archaeologist Mike Pitts published a radical new theory claiming that some of the Stonehenge stones were in place millions of years before humans arrived in the area. Pitts claims that the two largest stones’ alignment with the solstice sun is coincidental, but that this alignment was noticed by ancient people who then built the rest of the monument around these two stones.
Now, a controversial new theory has been published claiming the opposite: that the stones were carried from far away in Wales. Rather than being transported by humans as is commonly thought, though, this theory instead argues that the stones were carried by a glacier. The theory was put forth by geologist Brian John in his new self-published book The Stonehenge Bluestones due for a June 1 release. John saysthat much of the current thinking surrounding Stonehenge’s construction is all based on the idea that humans, not mother nature, carried the stones. John, however, thinks this is simply hubris:
Archaeologists, in general, have assumed that if the ice couldn’t have carried them, therefore they must have been carried by human beings. People have loved this story: all of the heroic ancestors slaving away, collecting up these stones from west Wales and then carrying them all the way to Stonehenge. We all love heroic tales, and I think that’s why people have just accepted this, more or less, at face value without any questioning of the evidence on which it’s based.
John’s theory is based on his analysis of the stones themselves, which he claims are “rather clumpy bits of stone” characteristic of the stones typically carried around and ground up by glaciers. There is no evidence that humans transported the stones to their current location, he adds.
Glacial activity can produce collections of broad, flat stones commonly misattributed to ancient human activity.
However, many other archaeologists do not agree. Josh Pollard, a University of Southampton archaeologist, toldLiveScience.com that the glacier hypothesis is “looking increasingly untenable.” Pollard adds that nearby rock outcroppings show evidence of ancient quarry activity and match the composition of the stones at Stonehenge. Pollard is part of The Stonehenge Riverside Project, a research venture which studies nearby exposed rock outcrops to try and find a local source for the Stonehenge stones.
This scientists’ squabble might just be an academic ‘turf’ war, but it demonstrates just how mysterious Stonehenge remains today. Despite our best efforts, we still can’t crack the mysteries of how or why the monument was built. Will we ever know?
This new crop circle is reported at Buckland Down, near Cerne Abbas, Dorset, UK on May 26, 2018.
Analyze of the crop circle via Crop Circle Connector: Here we have a crop circle in star model (octagonal), which resembles a Compass Rosen related to the lunar phases. It seems to evoke the concept of time and position together.
A model of position system and counting of months (lunar phases) with the Earth at the centre and the positions of the Moon in the alignments with the Sun at the edges.
The eight rays associate this model with the Compass Rosen.
There are also moon goddess symbols made up of four crescent moons, as shown in the crop circle.

Bruce Fessier The Desert Sun
Seekers have been wandering the desert in search of answers at least since Moses. Some might say also Zarathrustra.
But the search for answers about UFOs, ancient aliens and mysterious megalithic monuments has become so popular in this desert that producers Paul Andrews and Victoria Gevoian are moving their annual Contact in the Desert conference from Joshua Tree, a reputed vortex of metaphysical energy, to the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa, where the Republican Koch brothers lead conservative think tanks.
Georgio A. Tsoukalos, star of “Ancient Aliens,” will speak at “Contact in the Desert.”

The June 1-4 conference was moved, Andrews said, partly because its international audience was seeking more comfort than it was getting in the high desert. But most guests come to hear the world-class speakers, participate in panel discussions and conduct workshops on subjects such as UFO and alien abduction documentation.
If you watch TV programs like “Ancient Aliens” or read books like “Chariots of the Gods,” you know the marquee names like Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and Erich Von Daniken. But the 50 speakers at this year’s Contact in the Desert also include professors, investigators and even former Congressman Merrill Cook, R-Utah, who has demanded greater disclosure of government files on extraterrestrial sightings.

This conference isn’t purely academic. It will include a field trip to the mysterious Giant Rock near Landers. Programs such as NightVision SkyWatch will have participants don night vision goggles and search the skies for UFOs under the guidance of former FBI agent Ben Hansen, host of SyFi’s “Fact or Faked: The Paranormal Files.”
Contact in the Desert is even building a 360-dome on a Renaissance lawn so guests can digest programs, such as the origin of matter, in 3-D augmented reality. Andrews, who had a mysterious experience as a kid, is serious about promoting dialogue on issues long relegated to esoterica. But he and Gevoian are event producers, so they'll break up the intellectual discourse with programming such as a Saturday night magic show, which prompted the first skeptical question in a wide-ranging Desert Sun interview.
DESERT SUN: Why do you have a magic show, which is illusion or trickery, when you’re trying to prove that many of these unexplained phenomenon are real?
GEVOIN: It’s like, this is such a serious subject for so many people, it’s a little levity. It just lightens things up and makes people smile.
You have workshops on how to locate UFOs and I notice you had a sighting in 2016. Did it come out of a workshop?
GEVOIN: Actually, every year we have what is called the NightVision Experience, and we’ve had sightings almost every single year (at it). But it just so happened that we had a film crew (in 2016). They were going out to give us B role of people looking up at the stars with the night vision goggles. They happened to be there when the sightings took place, so, we have the footage on our website.

ANDREWS: (Radio host) Jimmy Church witnessed it first-hand and went on the radio nationally and talked about it two or three hours. I’ve been to a lot of shows and, as far as I know, we’re the only show that ever demonstrated an actual sighting and was able to document it.
What made you think it was a UFO?
ANDREWS: The movement. It was moving in a way that no known craft that we know of could move.
GEVOIN: Any time it does 90-degree turns and it moves around all over the place, you go, “Wait, what’s going on there?”
The New York Times ran a story about the Pentagon’s secret Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program that was shut down in 2012. Do you think there’s more interest in your subject matter because of news stories like that?
ANDREWS: Definitely. The New York Times doesn’t publish something casually. They have enough sources at this point that they think there’s something significant going on and I think that has been a catalyst to the renewed interest in this whole field. It’s not just UFOs. It’s also a lot of what Giorgio Tsoukalos is doing on the History Channel.
GEVOIN: Right. “Ancient Aliens” and Forbidden Archaeology is huge. We are bringing scientists, NASA whistle-blowers, high-ranking military personnel, FBI people. archaeologists focused on forbidden archaeology, and we have the grandfather of them all, Erich Von Daniken.

Erich Von Daniken (shown here) popularized theories about extra-terrestrials visiting earth with a bestselling book and successful feature film called “Chariots of The Gods.”
The Clarion Ledger (1996)
ANDREWS: I’ll give you an obvious example. There’s no way the culture that existed in Europe even 2,500 years ago had the technology or the slave power or whatever you want to call it to build such incredibly precise monuments as the pyramids. So, the thesis goes that there’s enough of these kinds of anomalies around the Earth to suggest a probable solution is that there’s an extra-terrestrial interaction with our planet going back perhaps tens of thousands of years.

GEVOIN: And also the study on Antarctica. There are a lot of things going on in Antarctica and we have people who have the most up-to-date information on that.
I was going to ask if you think the government has files on things like whether there was an Atlantis in Antarctica (being discussed at 2:15 p.m. Friday). Has the government studied this and are they hiding it?
ANDREWS: Absolutely. What’s going on is, the ice caps are melting and as they’re melting they’re revealing more and more structures. Also, the government’s level of infrared technology has been able to go deeper into the earth to see structures they’ve never been able to see before. It’s no accident that (former Secretary of State) John Kerry just happened to go down to Antarctica a couple months ago.
But, how do you jump from observing something in infrared to a conclusion that some ancient alien, or the Anunnaki were there?
Paul Andrews is a producer of Contact in the Desert, which is exploring the theme, "Full Disclosure."
Courtesy of Contact in the Desert
ANDREWS: I didn’t necessarily make that leap. What I did say is there is some anomalous things that have never been discovered. It goes back to, how did these things get built? Who built them? Peasant slaves on a starvation diet? You mention the Anunnaki and to me they’re key to this whole thing. The Anunnaki were written about extensively by Zachariah Sitchin in his 13-book series. Essentially where his information came from were these ancient clay tablets found first in Mesopotamia but then in other very ancient civilizations. Pretty much they all tell the same story of the Anunnaki coming to Earth and building these structures and mining minerals and creating a hybrid race that was essentially a group of humans in service to the so-called gods. He makes a very strong case. I would say even stronger than Erich Von Daniken. But it’s been carried forward by a number of other people, most notably by Giorgio Tsoukalos.
MORE: The argument for Sitchin's thesis
MORE: The argument against Sitchin's thesis
When we’re talking about gold-mining by the Anunnaki, I have to think, why do superior beings need gold? It’s like saying God needs gold in heaven. But you make that a topic of conversation.
ANDREWS: A number of people propound that thesis based on these tablets that have been transcribed by Stichin and others. So, we include it as part of a broader conversation on UFOs and ancient aliens.
GEVOIN: It’s important that we show all these different ways to look at these subjects and expose people to new ideas.
My feeling is, when you even have someone like (attorney) Daniel Sheehan, who has represented the Lakota tribe and investigated Watergate and UFOs, it’s so all-over-the-place you tend to think it’s a gathering of conspiracy theorists.
ANDREWS: Let’s step back for a second. Daniel Sheehan also represented Harvard Professor John Mack, who wrote one of the best, most academic books on the abduction phenomena, and he documented all of his work. As a result, it created a furor within the Harvard faculty and Daniel Sheehan stepped in to defend him and allowed him to retain his tenure.
I’m not trying to deprecate Daniel Sheehan, I’m just saying your speakers are all over the map. So, I’m wondering, is the government studying all of these issues and not being transparent, creating a need to show what they’re studying?
ANDREWS: The key here is disclosure. Everybody who’s in this field in any serious level believes the government isn’t giving us full disclosure of what they know. That’s why Victoria and I decided to make the theme of this year’s show, Full Disclosure. They’re keeping it hidden and discouraging people like us from talking about it.
So, how much data are they collecting and what is the scope of their research?
ANDREWS: There’s an excellent book about this by one of our speakers, Michael Sallala, called “Exo Politics (Political Implications of the Extraterrestrial Presence).” It talks about the relationship between government and this phenomenon, and Michael Sallala is a Ph.d. He’s done terrific research on this.
But has the government researched topics you’re discussing like crop circles and their connections to megalithic monuments around the world? Are they keeping that from us?
ANDREWS: No. I think the research they’re doing is tied in with the defense establishment: Are these sightings a threat.
So, how do you make the leap that these monuments…
ANDREWS: Were built by extraterrestrials? There again, we go back to the clay tablets that were written thousands of years ago that are just now being deciphered.
GEVOIN: You’ll see a symbol that is clearly an airplane, but (airplanes) didn’t exist hundreds of years ago. So, we use forbidden archaeology to lay the groundwork for study. We’re trying to figure out if what we’re seeing has any connection to these beings flying around, doing astounding things aeronautically.
I find it interesting that you have a former Congressman, Merrill Cook.
ANDREWS: He is very supportive of the full disclosure process. He does not believe the government is fully disclosing everything and, when a high-elected official stands up and says he knows for a fact that the government is not disclosing everything they know, people pay attention. That’s one of the reasons people come to our show. They know intuitively there’s something missing and they want someone to verify it for them.
GEVOIN: Another thing that draws people to the show, there are individuals that have had their own sightings. So, they’re confused. They have no one to talk to. When they come here, they’re surrounded by others who have had these experiences and they share them at what we call the Cosmic Café.
I’m interested in the disclosure aspect and the fact that it doesn’t seem to be a Republican or a Democratic thing. Luis Elizondo (who the New York Times said ran the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program) quit the Pentagon over lack of disclosure and his program was cut during the Obama Administration. Is the government afraid of giving credibility to this research?
ANDREWS: Exactly. It’s a nonpartisan issue and it’s tied into defense. There’s a book about this called “Day After Roswell” about how this major in the Air Force was tasked with taking the technology from downed UFOs and feeding it into the American defense industry. I think that’s at the core of it. They feel a lot of this technology is giving them an edge over other countries. They’re helping us develop as a society, but then there’s the abduction phenomenon, which they are powerless to prevent and they don’t want to admit to the American public that they’re powerless.
So, is our tie to the military-industrial complex making us more secretive than other countries, like England and Australia, which have been more transparent?
ANDREWS: Yes. We have captured the most downed UFOs. There’s another one captured in Aztec, New Mexico, and there’s a real well-documented book about it, called “The Aztec (UFO) Incident” (by Ramsey Scott and Suzanne Ramsey). There’s a blanket of secrecy that has been thrown over all of this stuff.
You have some talks on a UFO crash in Brazil. Why is that significant?
GEVOIN: I thought it would be fascinating to sit down with a panel of individuals and let each one talk about their country. This is a worldwide thing. We’ve got A.J. Javaerd from Brazil, Clifford Mahooty (a Zuni Pueblo leader) talking about the Native Americans and their history with the star people, Hugh Newman (a British author on ancient origins), Paul Stonehill (a U.S.S.R. native) who’s talking about Russia, Freddy Silva (who leads international tours of sacred sites).
ANDREWS: Nick Pope was in British intelligence. He’s well known for the Rendlesham Forest event.
GEVOIN: There is a changing within all of us right now, a transformation experience, and our brain is just not able to keep up with everything that’s going on. So, what’s happening is, we feel this shift in our consciousness and we also feel it may have some connection to why all of a sudden more and more people are experiencing abductions or seeing UFOs.
How is an overload of information related to abductions?
GEVOIN: That’s a really good question. I was thinking about this the other day and I was wondering if it was because we are becoming more aware. More awake. These beings have found they can control the way you see things in this reality. I believe they use your consciousness when you’re not present. You know when you’re in your car and you’re not "there" and all of a sudden you’re "there"? I feel like when you’re in that space they can make you see whatever. Somehow there’s a connection.
You have a workshop on abductions and alien hybrid programs. What are you teaching there?
GEVOIN: Just what they look like, how they think, what they do.
ANDREWS: A lot more people than you think have had the abduction experience and most of them, when they come back from it, there’s an element of missing time and missing memory. So, why is this happening and why can’t the people who have had this experience remember all the details? This panel is dedicated to going into all the reasons why people have problems remembering what happened.
There’s also been an increase in the number of borderline personality disorder cases, where people make up their own histories.
ANDREWS: I’ve interviewed kids who are 6, 7 and 8 years old who have had an experience and have pretty good recall of it, and they’re not trying to write a book. They’re not trying to convince anybody. They’re just telling us openly from their heart what happened to them and asking us to empathize and believe what they said. I see that over and over again.

A lot can happen in a second; you could meet a stranger, snap your fingers, fall in love, fall asleep, sneeze. But what is a second, really — and is it as precise as we think it is?
Right now, the most-precise clocks used to tell global time have an error of about 1 second every 300 million years — so a clock that started ticking in the time of the dinosaurs wouldn't be off by even a second today. But scientists think we can do better. [The 18 Biggest Unsolved Mysteries in Physics]
So, they are looking to lutetium, a neglected rare-earth element that has been gathering dust at the bottom of the periodic table, according to a new study published April 25 in the journal Nature Communications.
Why is one second 1 second long?
In the olden days, a second was defined as a fraction (1/86400) of the average solar day, the 24-hour rotation of the Earth around its axis. But the rotation of the Earth can vary slightly, so scientists decided to stop scanning the heavens to calibrate our clocks and scaled things way down — to the level of atoms, the invisible building blocks of matter.
In 1967, the International Committee for Weights and Measures defined the second as the amount of time it takes for a cesium atom to absorb enough energy to be excited — that is, for its electrons to jump from one energy state to the next. For this to happen, the atom must be pulsed with exactly 9,192,631,770 cycles of microwave radiation.
Researchers John P. Lowe, Robert E. Drullinger, and project leader, David J. Glaze (from left to right) stand next to a cesium atom clock they developed called NIST-7. Housed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, this clock was responsible for keeping time in the U.S. from 1993 to 1999, but has since been replaced by more accurate cesium clocks.
Credit: National Institute of Standards and Technology
Though that number might seem random, it comes from measuring the frequency of microwaves needed to excite the cesium atoms in the average of the earlier definition of 1 second. These measurements were taken over a span of nearly three years, Scientific American reported.
Currently, hundreds of cesium atomic clocks are responsible for keeping global time and controlling GPS navigation. But in the past decade, another generation of atomic clocks has emerged, called "optical clocks," and they are 100 times more precise than the cesium variety. The new clocks work in the exact same way as the cesium ones, except they use atoms such as aluminum or ytterbium that get excited by higher frequencies of visible light (hence the name "optical") rather than the slower microwaves. This higher frequency adds more data points to the definition of a "second," making the measurement more precise. [7 Strange Facts About Quarks]
To understand this, imagine the different types of clocks as a pair of rulers, said Murray Barrett, an associate physics professor at the National University of Singapore and the lead author of the new study. If the older, "cesium" ruler measures a line that's 20 centimeters (7.9 inches) long, the more precise, "optical" ruler can measure the line also as, for example, 200 millimeters.
While optical clocks are very precise , getting them to run for a very long period of time and to remain stable in their environments can be problematic, Barrett said. A room's temperature can change the electromagnetic fields acting on the atoms, which in turn can skew the time measurement, Barrett said. So, the cesium clocks are still "much more reliable in their implementation than [the new] optical clocks," Barrett told Live Science.
Making less sensitive atomic clocks
In their new study, Barrett and his team found that a lutetium ion is less sensitive to changes in environmental temperature than are any other elements used for optical clocks, making it a strong candidate to serve as master time keeper.
Lutetium atoms can also help compensate for another problem affecting time measurement, the team found. Because the atoms used in these clocks are charged, they slightly wiggle back and forth in response to the electromagnetic fields created by the waves (visible light, microwaves, etc.) — and this can skew the time measurement. Scientists call this rapid backward and forward movement a "micromotion shift."
Because scientists must compensate for this shift, it's really difficult to develop atomic clocks with more than one ion — which would make such clocks more practical, Barrett said. But the team found that they could use a natural property in a certain type of lutetium ion to cancel out these "micromotion shifts."
However, this comes at a cost: Those atoms became more sensitive to the temperature of the room. That trade-off might limit the impact of the new finding, and the atom lutetium might not be a "real game changer," said Jérôme Lodewyck, a physicist at the Paris Observatory who was not part of the study.
But, this "high-quality work" adds another possible atomic species to the long list of timekeeper candidates that is a "wealth for metrologists" looking to compare different clocks, Lodewyck said. [What's That? Your Physics Questions Answered]
Beyond telling time
Though Barrett said lutetium "is extremely promising," he doesn't think there's a big rush to redefine the second using optical clocks, as cesium clocks do just fine at things like getting us where we need to go.
But highly precise optical clocks might allow for new applications "that would simply not be possible with our current technology," Barrett said.
For example, clocks are sensitive to where they sit in the world, because time is distorted by gravity, according to Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity. Right now, atomic clocks on Earth can't detect the miniscule time-warping that occurs due to Earth's gravity. But if researchers could place highly precise optical clocks around the world, that setup could help researchers map out the gravitational field of our planet, Barrett said.
Further, highly precise atomic clocks could detect matter and energy we may not yet be able to see, Lodewyck said. That could include dark matter, which exerts a gravitational pull yet does not interact with ordinary light, and dark energy, the mysterious force that seems to be accelerating the expansion of the universe, he said.
Here's how it might work: If you know the frequency needed to excite some atoms in the time frame of a second, you could use these various clocks around the world to detect any differences beyond what you would normally expect. There are "some theories that say dark matter is around us, so if we cross a chunk of dark matter, this would perturb the clock," Lodewyck told Live Science.
There may even be applications we can't think of right now, Barrett said. "Certainly, when we first started developing clocks for the purpose of ship navigation, we never imagined the idea of somebody being able to walk around and know exactly where they are in a big city."

US Intelligence Indirectly Confirms Existence of Russia's Hypersonic Weapons
Sources with direct knowledge of US intelligence reports say Russia is on the brink of developing a maneuverable, hypersonic nuclear-capable glider warhead that no US system can defeat.
The sources, speaking to CNBC on condition of anonymity, reported that Russia tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic glide vehicle (presumably the Avangard) twice in 2016, and again in 2017. The 2017 test was a failure, according to the sources. A fourth test is expected sometime this summer.
Citing an intelligence report, a source said the hypersonic glider's testing involved mounting it to an RS-18A intercontinental ballistic missile (NATO reporting name SS-19).
US intelligence says the vehicle is highly maneuverable, and thus unpredictable and hard to track. It is also fitted with onboard countermeasures, which no existing US missile-defense system can defeat. Furthermore, although it can carry a warhead, it is believed that the force of the glider's impact, as well as its precision, may be enough to destroy targets.
The intelligence reports, allegedly created this past spring, calculate that the Avangard will likely be operational by 2020, according to CNBC's sources.
The news site doesn't specify whether the reports were released before or after President Putin's unveiling of of cutting-edge new Russian missile systems in a speech to lawmakers on March 1. Putin confirmed the existence of a hypersonic glider, dubbed the Avangard, as well as the Kinzhal air-launched hypersonic missile, an unnamed nuclear-powered cruise missile, and an unnamed sub-launched nuclear-powered submersible drone.
Putin said these systems, which are nearly operational, were aimed at guaranteeing Russian security amid the US withdrawal from the ABM Treaty, and NATO's continual expansion along Russia's western borders. The Kinzhal hypersonic missile appeared at the 2018 Victory Day parade in Moscow.
In late March, Strategic Command commander Gen. John Hyten told Congress that there was nothing in the Pentagon's arsenal capable of stopping Russia's new hypersonic weapons. Hyten confirmed that the United States was watching both Russia and China's hypersonic capabilities closely.
On Tuesday, President Putin confirmed that 14 missile regiments would receive the new Yars ICBM system to replace the Topol before the end of the year. The Aerospace Forces will also get upgraded Tu-95MS and Tu-160 missile-carrying bombers armed with Kh-101 and Kh-102 long-range conventional and nuclear missiles, according to the president. Putin also urged the defense sector to prepare for the manufacture of the new S-500 anti-ballistic missile system, assumed to be capable of intercepting targets, including satellites, in near space. The new equipment is set to arrive despite a 20 percent cut in Russia's defense spending between 2016 and 2017, from about $65.4 billion, to about $48 billion per year.
The US is engaged in its own military modernization, with nuclear modernization alone expected to cost some $1.2 trillion through to 2046. President Trump proposed increasing the 2019 fiscal year budget to $681.1 billion.

Skywatcher Films Rare Red Sprites In The Sky Above Oklahoma
Paul Smith captured images of a rare sky phenomenon called red sprites in Oklahoma, on May 24, 2018 and states: "Lots of TLEs from Oklahoma tonight and his one stands out as my best to date. 12.55am/6:55 UTC 5/24/2018 looking WNW from north Edmond, Oklahoma. It even has the blue/purple ends on the tendrils."

Paul finds it very curious that TLEs were only first documented relatively recently - red sprites in particular, once considered rare, are now being recorded with increasing regularity.
And as storms passed by to the NW, Paul recorded another sprite lightning event up close in all it's glory. The clip really illustrates the electrical connection of the phenomena- how it flickers looks very electrical in nature to me. First is real time then slowed down 10 times.

'TLE' stands for Transient Luminous Event, which includes upper-atmosphere electric phenomena known as sprites, jets and ELVES. These high-altitude discharges were once considered to 'possibly occur' because pilots reported seeing them, but meteorologists discounted the idea until 1989 when the first visual documentation was made in support of the claims.
Clearly, great changes are occurring on our planet. And not just on our planet.
Here's What We Know About Russia's Hypersonic Waverider Weapon
Here's What We Know About Russia's Hypersonic Waverider Weapon
By Edd Gent, Live Science Contributor
During a speech to lawmakers, Russian President Vladimir Putin showed images of a hypersonic weapon dubbed Avangard that can apparently reach Mach 20.

Warnings of a Russian hypersonic weapon that the U.S. can't defend against may have had you running for the bomb shelter last week. But what, exactly, is this weapon, and how does it work?
The Russians have released few concrete details about the weapon, but from the information available, it appears the weapon is a so-called hypersonic glide vehicle, said Thomas Juliano, an assistant professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Notre Dame who specializes in hypersonic flight.
Rather than generating its own power to reach hypersonic speeds, the glide vehicle catches a ride atop an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Typically, these rockets fly to space on an arcing trajectory before releasing warheads near the top of the parabola, and these warheads drop back down onto the target at hypersonic speeds under the power of gravity.
Rather than falling back to Earth, though, Avangard reenters the atmosphere at an angle and its aerodynamic shape generates lift that lets it glide down at hypersonic speeds, says Juliano, which allows it to travel further farther and maneuver as it descends.
Hyper engineering
The vehicle appears to follow a design known as a "waverider," Juliano said. Waveriders are hypersonic aircraft that have wedge-shaped fuselages specially designed to generate lift by surfing on the shock wave generated as its own aircraft punches through the air at a high speed.
This is important at higher altitudes, where air density is low, making it difficult to generate lift with conventional wing designs. And because it doesn't need large wings, the vehicle is more streamlined, and the reduced drag allows it to maintain its speed over a much longer distance, Juliano said.
Building a vehicle that can tolerate hypersonic speeds and the temperatures they generate is no easy feat, Juliano said. But the design the Russians have opted for circumvents one of the major challenges: propulsion. [Photos: Hypersonic Jet Could Fly 10 Times the Speed of Sound]
"Designing a successful propulsion system at Mach 10 or above is extraordinarily challenging," he said. "By putting the glider on top of an ICBM, you avoid the need to design a successful hypersonic air-breathing engine."
Controlling a vehicle at such high speeds is still incredibly tricky, though. The Russians claim that Avangard is highly maneuverable, and based on computer-generated video included in Putin's address, it appears to have several flaps similar to the aerofoils used by planes to change direction.
Adjusting the aerofoils at hypersonic speeds is not a trivial task, because the shock wave can have complex interactions with the air flowing over the vehicle's surfaces, resulting in "nonlinear" behavior, Juliano said.
That means tiny adjustments can have outsize impacts, which makes it very tricky to calculate how much to move a flap or aerofoil. "It has to be precise, it has to operate quickly and it's a much harder environment to predict," he said.
Nonetheless, Juliano thinks the Russian claims are credible, as the technology has been in development for some time. The U.S. tested its own version, dubbed Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2, in 2010 and 2011, but both flights were failures. And China also has an experimental system, code-named DF-ZF.
What is it for?
Russian efforts to develop hypersonic glide vehicles are explicitly aimed at evading U.S. missile defense systems, said Pavel Podvig, an independent analyst who specializes in Russia's nuclear arsenal. [Could the US Stop Nuclear Weapons?]
Current U.S. defenses are designed to take out conventional warheads from ICBMs on predictable ballistic trajectories while they are still in space; these defenses are not well suited to intercept weapons coming in on a high-speed glide in the atmosphere, Podvig said. And unlike traditional warheads, the vehicles will be capable of maneuvering around defenses.
But Podvig said it's not clear if the weapons really provide useful additional military capabilities. "It has been described as a weapon in search of a mission," he told Live Science. "My take is, you don't really need this kind of capability. It doesn't really change much in terms of ability to hit targets."
Podvig pointed out that the ICBM that carried the Avangard during testing, the SS-19, normally carries six conventional warheads. If the goal is to counter missile defense systems, it would be just as easy to overwhelm them with a greater number of standard warheads, he said.
But such weapons could breed dangerous uncertainty, Podvig said, because they aren't covered by arms-control treaties such as New START, which require countries to report the number, type and location of nuclear-capable weapons like ICBMs. In addition, the capabilities and potential uses of hypersonic gliders are still unclear.
"These systemscreate greater risks of miscalculation," Podvig said, "and it's not clear if we can effectively deal with those risks."
In an effort to reduce some of that uncertainty, the Pentagon is reportedly considering fielding space-based sensors to spot hypersonic weapons, according to Space News. The approach would require a costly constellation of satellites, but would be better at spotting weapons gliding in the upper atmosphere and could also see farther than land-based systems limited by the horizon.
Podvig says a properly designed system of this kind should be able to detect hypersonic weapons in flight, but it's not clear this would make it any easier to intercept such fast and maneuverable vehicles.
On previous occasions, I have written here at Mysterious Universe on the subject of a U.S. Government UFO-themed program of the late 1940s to the early 1950s. It was called Project Twinkle. Its mandate was to investigate reports of strange, brightly lit, green fireballs. They were seen in close proximity to military installations and facilities involved in research concerning atomic energy (largely, but not exclusively, in the southwest of the United States). Many of the staff believed the fireballs were under intelligent control. While the program was ultimately closed and fell into a degree of obscurity, the now-available files offer an intriguing insight into the phenomenon. Take, for example, the following document of October 18, 1948, which tells a fascinating and intriguing story. It is one of many. Here’s how it starts:
“18 Oct 48 – CONFIDENTIAL Gen Holger Toftoy (US Army Ordnance/Rocket) daily log: Conference attended by Cols Toftoy, Roberts & Bainbridge (CC), Maj J.F. Gay & Dr. J. J. Grebe, (Chemical Corps), and Dr. Mugson. Chemical Corps reported analysis of fragments picked up from ‘flying saucer’ which vanished with a brilliant flash and bang near Midland, Michigan. Sand and clinker recovered from the locality contained nuggets of fairly pure silver and some thorium. The thorium was sufficient to give radioactivity approximately 10 times natural background which could possibly be ascribed to thorium coated filaments in electronic equipment, although the quantity seems excessive.”
The document continues: “There was evidence also of magnesium which had been completely oxidized. Dr. Grebe advanced his hypothesis that small missiles of the order of 1 to 3 feet in diameter might be responsible, coming from distant sources. He considered that a rapidly rotating disc of magnesium and /or aluminum might have enough energy if properly utilized to propel the disc several thousand miles, and might be completely destroyed by burning in air. Remaining traces of silver and thorium might be ascribed to electronic control system.”
We are then told: “After discussion, it was agreed that Col Roberts should request the Bur of Standards group to investigate some of the mechanisms which might conceivably propel discs of this general type and TU will keep in close touch with these calculations (CMH). A meeting next Monday, 25 Oct, can be arranged with Dr. Grebe if indications are favorable. Dr. Grebe also briefly described a theory of his that a fish-shaped object with a modified tear-drop cross section would take off along the long axis and change position in flight to fly at an angle more like a flying wing. No wings or other aerodynamic surfaces that produce drag would be required.”
Clearly, a great deal of time and effort went into resolving this matter, regardless of the origins of the fragments. The reference to such fragments possibly having come from a “flying saucer” is interesting. It’s important to note, though, the fact that those two words – “flying” and “saucer” – are contained within quotation marks. This suggests the military was using the term as one which was in popular, widespread use at the time, but not necessarily intended to mean “alien spacecraft.”
Whatever the truth of the affair described above, it’s notable that it was cases like this one which had the Project Twinklepeople more than a bit concerned. Consider the following: Three months later, the Headquarters 4th Army prepared a document titled “Unconventional Aircraft.” It began: “1. The inclosed Summary of Information: subject ‘Unconventional Aircraft’ (Control No. A-1917) dated 13 Jan 49, is forwarded for your information and any action deemed necessary. 2. Agencies in New Mexico are greatly concerned over these phenomena. They are of the opinion that some foreign power is making ‘sensing shots’ with some super-stratospheric device designed to be self-disintegrating. They also believe that when the device is perfected for accuracy, the disintegrating factor will be eliminated in favor of a warhead.”
The military continued: “3. Another theory being advanced as possibly acceptable lies in the belief that the phenomena are the result of radiological warfare experiments by a foreign power, further, that the rays may be lethal or might be attributed to the cause of some of the plane crashes that have occurred recently. 4. Still another belief that is advanced is that, it is highly probable that the United States may be carrying out some top-secret experiments. 5. It is felt that these incidents are of such great importance, especially as they are occurring in the vicinity of sensitive installations, that a scientific board be sent to this locality to study the situation with a view of arriving at a solution of this extraordinary phenomena with the least practicable delay. 6. It is further requested that this headquarters be informed of action taken on this and a previous report in order that reporting agencies may be advised.”
In view of all the above, it’s hardly surprising that, behind closed doors, people were restless. Additional records show that Project Twinkle never did resolve matters to the satisfaction of everyone. The green fireballs vanished into oblivion, leaving more than a few people both puzzled and alarmed as to what the truth really was.
In an attempt to solve the mystery of how a cluster of human cells orient themselves into a front, back, top and bottom of an embryo, a group of U.S. researchers avoided restrictions on using human embryos by doing something even more controversial – but apparently legal … they grafted human cells onto chicken embryos to create a form of human-chicken hybrid. Wait … what? Is this the first step to creating a real Chickenman? Who will play him in the movie?
“No one knew what happens after the ball of cells attaches itself to the uterus.”
Ali Brivanlou, a developmental biologist at the Rockefeller University in New York City, headed the research and is the lead author of the study published this week in the journal Nature. If you’re up on your developmental biology, you’ll remember Brivanlou’s name from a previous study in 2016 when he and a different team grew human embryos in a Petri dish for 14 days, breaking the previous record of nine days. U.S. laws forced the team to destroy the cells at that point, but there seemed to be no biological reason why they couldn’t have continued to grow. The team was frustrated because 14 days was not long enough to see the cells organize themselves into future body parts.
Have we seen this before?
Enter the salamanders.
Brivanlou already knew that the organization was done by special ‘organizer cells’ which were discovered in 1924 when German researchers Hilde Mangold and Hans Spemann transplanted cells from a salamander onto a salamander embryo and watched them grow into a second conjoined salamander. That sounds like the opening scene of a horror movie that could only be made better/scarier if the cells were human.
Enter the chickens.
Brivanlou also knew that chicken embryos mature sooner and grow faster than human embryos. Under his direction, the researchers avoided the 14-day restriction by growing human embryonic stem cells into embryo-like (what would that be?) “structures” called gastruloids that they then attached to 12-hour-old chicken embryos which they claimed are the chicken-equivalents of 14-day-old human embryos.
Enter the human-chicken hybrids.
The human organizer cells in the embryo-like (this still sounds fishy) structure organized the chicken embryo to form a second conjoined chicken embryo (sound familiar?) which Brivanlou claimed did not reach maturity and “hatch.”
Or were they destroyed by nervous or guilt-ridden researchers?
“Once you transplant the human organizer into a chicken embryo, the language it uses to instruct the bird cells to establish the brain and nervous system is exactly the same as the one used by amphibians and fish.”
I told you it sounded fishy. While Brivanlou claims that this is an ethical solution to studying early embryonic growth in order to potentially grow artificial organs or manipulate cells into regenerative tissues to combat diseases such as Alzheimer’s, he still prefers to use the real thing.
“There is no substitute for studying the real embryo. Everything else we do when we try to model kind of oversimplifies it. Human embryonic stem cells and eggs have all the information. Everything else is pushing the first domino.”
They’ve created a human-chicken hybrid. Are the dominoes already falling?
Would chickens falling like dominoes be a cool opening to the “Chickenman” movie trailer?
The Earth is a mysterious place. We might think we have a handle on all of the natural phenomena which occur around us, but the truth is we likely have no idea just how strange our planet is. Case in point: scientists this week announced the first ever known instance of a beam of antimatter blasting downward like a lightning strike in the middle of a powerful hurricane. What kinds of havoc could such a beam wreak on any unfortunate souls below?
I’d rather not find out the hard way.
Luckily for us, the beam appears to have not made it past the lower atmosphere. The beam was detected by a team of NOAA researchers who flew a specially-equipped “Hurricane Hunter” aircraft directly through the eyewall of the cyclone during its peak intensity, giving a rare glimpse into the phenomena which accompany which storms. Scientists have known that terrestrial gamma-ray flashes, powerful beams of anti-electrons, sometimes occur in the atmosphere. However, this recent sighting is the first time such a beam has been observed travelling downward – or even directly observed at all.
Scientists are only in the last few decades beginning to identify and study all manners of strange atmospheric phenomena like the red sprites pictured here.
David Smith, a professor of physics at UC Santa Cruz and one of the researchers involved in the published study of the beam, says despite the direct observation, the event ultimately remains an anomaly:
What we saw in the aircraft are the gamma-rays produced by the downward positron beam. It’s an extraordinary event, and we still don’t understand how it gets so bright. This is the first confirmation of that theoretical prediction, and it shows that TGFs are piercing the atmosphere from top to bottom with high-energy radiation.
According to a UC Santa Cruz press release, the beam was observed “amid the extreme violence” of Hurricane Patricia, the most intense tropical cyclone ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere and the second-most intense cyclone worldwide. The storm pounded the west coast of Mexico in late 2015, causing 13 fatalities and an estimated $460 million USD worth of damage throughout Central America, Mexico, and Texas.
One of the most disconcerting developments over the last few years has been the rise in unexplained booms or explosion noises being heard all across the United States. While many theories about their origins have been put forward, to date no definitive cause has been identified. Of course, it could be that many of these mystery booms are unrelated, but the fact is that nearly all of the stories sound identical. What could be causing these anomalous noises? Unknown seismic activity? Hydraulic fracking? Meteorites? Secret tests of classified aerospace technology? Domestic terrorists testing explosives?
Who knows? Until a cause is found, these mysterious booming noises remain a total mystery. While coverage and interest in these anomalous sounds seem to have so far been confined to local news outlets and mystery news sites like this one, it seems that these unexplained booms have now attracted the attention in the highest law enforcement agency in the United States: the FBI.
On May 22, homes throughout Upper Bucks and Lehigh Counties just north of Philadelphia were rattled by an extremely loud explosion around 4:00 a.m. “It’s a rumble. It actually, like, rumbles the ground like an earthquake would happen but with a loud like boom. I thought that somebody was making a tunnel or space junk fell out of the sky,” said area woman Susan Crompton. There have been multiple reports of similar booms in the area over the last few months, all of which have occurred early in the morning hours. Just like in other recent mystery boom stories, the sounds have been described as “mysterious and near-deafening,” loud enough to shake the ground for miles.
I’m going with secret aircraft testing.
CBS News in Philadelphia has confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pennsylvania State Police are now working together to investigate the cause of these anomalous booms. Can the FBI crack the case? Will they reveal the truth to the public if they do?
Human-chicken hybrid: Scientists successfully planted artificial human cells onto a chicken embryo
The study recently published in the journal Nature—titled Hybrid human–chicken embryos illuminate key developmental milestone—describes the revolutionary breakthrough as “A new technique reveals the earliest stages of human development without the need for human embryos.”
A group of stem cell scientists has made an unprecedented accomplishment as they have successfully combined artificial human cells with the embryo of chickens, in a shocking scientific experiment that aims to understand better how life develops.
Scientists had never before been able to understand and answer how specific cells in a developing human embryo arrange themselves to become muscles or libs, while others become bones and nerves.
However, everything has changed with a new experiment performed by researchers from the Rockefeller University in New York.
A group of scientists led by Dr. Ali Brivanlou has achieved the unthinkable by grafting petri dish grown human cells onto a chicken embryo and observed how cells could organize themselves.
In the study published in Nature, researchers from Rockefeller university unveiled the inner machinations of so-called ‘organizer cells.’ These cells are believed to play a crucial role in the formational of a cells top, bottom, and back, and are thought to dictate how the human body takes shape.
Speaking about the discovery, Dr. Brivanlou said: “No one knew what happens after the ball of cells attaches itself to the uterus.”

Putting an end to the use of human embryos in laboratories
The new, revolutionary study aims to bypass ethical issues surrounding the use of human embryos in laboratory experiments. Countries like the United States, for example, have banned the use of human embryos which are more than 14 days old, which is precisely when organizer cells begin to form.
The new study saw experts bypass the rule by growing embryo-like structures derived from human embryonic cells in the lab.
The next phase saw scientists graft the cells onto 12-hour-old chicken embryos which are considered to be the equivalent of a 14-day human.
In the new study scientists said that the as the chicken embryos grew, organizer cells began the formation of a second chicken nervous system.
In other words, it is a revolutionary discovery in medicine, one that is welcomed by researchers around the globe.
Dr. Martin Blum, a biologist at the University of Hohenheim in Germany, said that the discovery could put an end to the use of actual human embryos in laboratories.
At the moment I could not think of a case where an early human embryo would be needed to answer fundamental questions.”
However, Dr. Brivanlou disagrees with Dr. Blum.
There is no substitute for studying the real embryo,” Dr. Brivanlou has said.
“Everything else we do when we try to model kind of oversimplifies it.”
Martin Pera, a stem-cell researcher at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine, is impressed with the study.
There’s quite a lot there that this system will lead to,” he says — including a better understanding of defects in the early development of human embryos that can lead to miscarriages, and the ability to compare the embryo-like structures with human stem-cell cultures to better define stem cells’ abilities, reports the study in Nature.
The next step, say, researchers, is to determine how exactly the human organizer cells influence their neighbors.
This breakthrough could help scientists understand how to manipulate human stem cells into specific tissues or structures, as part of therapies to regenerate organs and tissues.
“Human embryonic stem cells and eggs have all the information,” Brivanlou says. “Everything else is pushing the first domino.”

THE AKASHIC RECORDS: A CONSCIOUS COSMIC NETWORK WHERE EVERYTHING IS STORED?
THE AKASHIC RECORDS: A CONSCIOUS COSMIC NETWORK WHERE EVERYTHING IS STORED?
The word Akasha can be traced back to its Sumerian origin where it was used to refer to aether, both in its elemental and metaphysical sense.
Perhaps the person we need to turn to when speaking about the Akasha or ether is a man whose importance has not been truly appreciated: Nikola Tesla—a genius polymath, inventor and a mechanical and electrical engineer.
In an interview dubbed Man’s Greatest Achievement, Nikola Tesla said: “All perceptible matter comes from a primary substance, or tenuity beyond conception, filling all space, the Akasha or luminiferous ether, which is acted upon by the life-giving Prana or creative force, calling into existence, in never-ending cycles all things and phenomena.”
However, even before Nikola Tesla, philosophers and ancient scholars wondered whether the so-called ether existed.
If we take a look at the ‘Indian Travels of Apollonius of Tyana,’ we will find further mention of the so-called ether.
If we take a look at ancient Hinduism, Akash is the fifth of the ‘five great elements’:
prthivi (earth)
apa (water)
agni (fire)
vaiu (air)
akashá (ether)
“And they allowed Apollonius to ask questions; and he asked them of what they thought the cosmos was composed”; but they replied; “Of elements.”
“Are there then four?” he asked. “Not four,” said Larchas, “but five.”
“And how can there be a fifth,” said Apollonius, “alongside water and air and earth and fire?”
“There is the ether,” replied the other, “which we must regard as the stuff of which gods are made; for just as all mortal creatures inhale the wire, so do immortal and divine natures inhale the ether.”
“Am I,” said Apollonius, “to regard the universe as a living creature?” “Yes,” answered the other.
Akasha or ākāśa is a term for either space or ætherin traditional Indian cosmology. In ancient Sanskrit, it is used to describe the ‘ether’ (æther), which is an impalpable, immaterial, subtle and intangible fluid, which the ancient Hindus believed exists across and ‘inside’ the entire universe and would be the vehicle of sound and life.
We come to understand that ether or Akasha is basically the fundament of all that exists in our material world.
In numerous ancient teachings, Akasha is considered the invisible force behind the creation of all matter.
Furthermore, in Vedantic Hinduism, Akasha is translated to as the basis and essence of all things in the material world; and is considered the first material element created from the astral world.
As noted by CE, it is the source of energy for material manifestation.
The enigma behind the Akashic Records
So what are the AkashicRecords?
Alice A. Bailey wrote in her book Light of the Soul on The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – Book 3 – Union achieved and its Results (1927):
The akashic record is like an immense photographic film, registering all the desires and earth experiences of our planet. Those who perceive it will see pictured thereon: The life experiences of every human being since time began, the reactions to experience of the entire animal kingdom, the aggregation of the thought-forms of a karmic nature (based on desire) of every human unit throughout time. Herein lies the great deception of the records. Only a trained occultist can distinguish between actual experience and those astral pictures created by imagination and keen desire.
The meaning of Akashic records can be summed up as the ‘data’ that in theory exists in a single place, in a non-physical way, outside of time and space.
In these, records we can discover the absolute knowledge and experience of our soul; almost as if it were part of a supercomputer of cosmic information where our past lives, the present and future possibilities (forming part of the theory of reincarnation), as well as the sense of our existence, reside.
The Akashic records (from Akasha, in Sanskrit: sky, space, ether), can also be summed up as a kind of memory (of everything that has happened since the beginning of time) that has become embedded and registered in the ether.
There, everything that has happened since the beginning of time and all the knowledge of the universe is found safely guarded since time immemorial.
If we take a look at their meaning from a Theosophical and Anthroposophical point of view, we find that the Akashic records are a summary of all human events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent ever to have occurred in the past, present, or future.
The video was captured above the French overseas port town of Saint-Pierre in Reunion Island on May 14, as a group of friends took a walk on the beach.
They noticed something bizarre in the sky and began to film.
The clip shows what appears to be a triangular craft hovering above the water before taking off into the distance.
It was later submitted to MUFON – an American-based non-profit organisation that investigates cases of alleged UFO sightings – where the witness explained how the event unfolded.

IZARRE: Could this be a spy plane?
“Three lights appeared – two white and one red with a strong intensity in the form of a triangle”
Eyewitness
The post read: "Every night we admire the view of the coast which is very visible from where we live.
"But tonight three lights appeared – two white and one red with a strong intensity in the form of a triangle.
"Having never seen this on the area I took my camera to take photos and film.
"The object remained on the spot for about four minutes and began to move in a straight line at a fairly high speed at low altitude."
The video was later uploaded to popular YouTube conspiracy channel The Hidden Underbelly, where viewers gave their own opinions on what was captured.
One comment read: "I've seen this triangle-shaped UFO before."
Before another speculated: "That is definitely the TR-3B."
The TR-3 Black Manta is the name of a surveillance aircraft of the United States Air Force, speculated to be developed under a black project.
It is said to be a supersonic stealth spy plane with a flying wing design.
Believers in the theory say it was used during the Gulf War to provide laser designation for Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk bombers.
And it is not the first time it has reportedly been spotted.
Designers have drawn up plans for a luxurious, space-aged superyacht - based on the famous Roswell UFO.
The concept craft is inspired by the supposed discovery of a crashed alien spacecraft at a ranch near the New Mexico town in 1947.
Mysterious pieces of silver debris were reportedly found at the scene and the superyacht's Monaco-based designer George Lucian says he wants his 'My Roswell' vessel to feature similar colours and material.
The UFO theme does not stop there with Lucian planning on making the ship as elusive as possible on the high seas.
Sharp angles and a reflective hull surface have been included to intentionally minimise radar detection while it will cruise in near silence with fully electric running capability.
Lucian said he wanted to create 'an iconic worldwide recognisable yacht inspired from the future' - complete with a helicopter deck, swimming pool and enough space for 12 guests and 12 crew.

With its sharp angles and reflective hull surface, the shape of the superyacht is also partly inspired by radar-dodging military stealth planes
The result is a jaw-dropping vessel which he says is inspired by the UFO saga in America more than 70 years ago. The US military have said the item was a nuclear test surveillance balloon, however conspiracies still abound about the otherworldly source of the object.
The entirely aluminium 213ft yacht is designed to have full electric running capabilities, supported by two diesel electric engines and large electric panels that cover the numerous horizontal surfaces of the superstructure of the vessel.
Lucian said: 'The shape, colour and texture of the material covering the yacht are similar to the materials found at the Roswell Incedent UFO crash.'
The designer made waves in 2017 with the bold 'Dare To Dream' superyacht concept, which saw a 330ft airship tethered to the vessel.

The 213ft superyacht will be capable of carrying 12 crew and 12 guests and will also feature a helicopter deck and swimming pool
His new concept is equally as eye-catching. He said: 'Unlike its radar footprint, its presence in any harbour will for sure be anything else but discrete.
'On the bow side of the main deck you can find a large outdoor covered living area, including a beam length swimming pool, a lounge and a dining area.
'This shall be the main living area of the yacht, being connected to the main salon and the stern deck with large glass doors and walls, giving the sensation of a huge open loft like space.

Alien looking eggs that spew out lava have been spotted in Hawaii after the volcanic eruption.
The strange egg-shaped mounds look as though they have come straight out of a science fiction movie but are the result of the lava that is still coming out of the huge volcano.
Photographer Took Time to Capture Photos of Strange Alien-like Lava Eggs

The Kilauea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii is doing it's worse after it erupted earlier on in the week. Locals in the region have been left having to deal with the fallout from the volcano, but one photographer took time out to capture the unique looking alien lava eggs that have been forming around the island.
Emissions from the volcano are slowing down, but there are some big movements from the volcano that have continued happening. One of them was measured as being an earthquake of 4.4 magnitudes. Ash plumes were seen rising high up into the air, and it was said they reached around 12,000 feet. One person said that it warmed the heart to see the true spirit of the people of Aloha during the eruption and aftershocks. They went on to say that, the relief effort has been something of a community one.
It’s long been said that “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” How long? The quote is attributed to French playwright Charles-Guillaume Étienne in the early 1800s. The saying in French is “On n’est jamais servi si bien que par soi-même,” which translates literally to the more cumbersome “One is never served so well as by oneself.” Two hundred years later, the saying resonates stronger than ever, and now it’s becoming a driving force in the world of UFOs (see Tom DeLonge). Politico, the Washington DC-based political journal, recently began a website called POLITICO Space, a “weekly must-read briefing on the policies and personalities shaping the second space age.”
To launch POLITICO Space, Politico Defense Editor and Space writer Bryan Bender held an announcement panel discussion in mid-April. Joining him were fellow space Jaqueline Klimas, President and CEO of the Coalition for Deep Space Exploration Mary Lynne Dittmar and US Congressional Representatives Ami Bera (Democrat, California) and Randy Hultgren (Republican, Illinois). This was no space junket — Dittmar is an advisor President Trump on space policy and Bera and Hultgren are members of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
When you’re doing things yourself, you don’t let the opportunity to question space heavyweights and policy makers pass you by, so Bryan Bender referred to the Pentagon UFO revelations of last December and hit them with both barrels of his photon torpedo launcher:
“You hear these reports. We have been hearing them for decades from many credible people. Other countries take it more seriously. They have government researchers who, in the open, not in secrecy, try to explain the unexplainable. Should we be doing more? Or is this just crazy sci-fi stuff that is a waste of time?”
Talk about a loaded question! It would have been easy to deflect it (after all – they’re politicians) and move to what they really want to talk about (campaign donations), but Representative Bera gave a straightforward and unexpected answer.
“I’ve actually talked to the chairman of the subcommittee, Brian Babin, as well as Lamar Smith, the chairman of the full committee. I said we ought to have a hearing on this, right? We ought to bring some folks in. Look, if you want to boost our C-SPAN ratings, a lot of people would be really interested. We don’t know what these phenomena are. Obviously, it’s important enough to allocate some funds and we ought to talk about what we can talk about.”
Bera said the magic word … “funds.” Spending money shows he’s serious. And he wants to put it on TV, which should get the president interested. Republican Hultgren agrees.
“It definitely piques interest. It gets people engaged.”
We’re already piqued and engaged — it’s time for Congress to catch up. Will government money really get allocated and spent on opening up secret files and getting new UFO research started? Will the discussions be held out in the open on C-SPAN? (Would they get more viewers on Netflix?)
Representatives Bera and Hultgren have committed and they name-dropped Brian Babin and Lamar Smith – both Republicans from Texas. Smith is retiring so Babin better get onboard. He doesn’t have to worry about the 2018 election because his only opponent is the Green Party candidate (which in Texas means he’s running unopposed). Will they follow through? Expect POLITICO to keep reminding them.
And a special thanks to POLITICO Space for reminding us once again:
“If you want something done right, do it yourself.”
