Scientists will discuss UFOs and alien contact at UFO Congress
It is a common misperception that scientists are not interested in UFOs or claims of alien contact. Scientists have actually been leading proponents of research into these areas, and three will be presenting their findings later this month at the International UFO Congress, the Guinness World Record holding largest UFO convention.
The three scientists include a former nuclear physicist, a neurologist, and a professor from Østfold University College in Norway where they have been investigating strange lights that have been occurring regularly for decades. Each of these men have been left with the conclusion that there is much more of a mystery to these phenomena than the greater scientific community is aware of.
Stanton Friedman began his career as a nuclear physicist, and later became one of the most recognized proponents to the UFO phenomenon. He is credited with being responsible for the massive popularity of the alleged Roswell UFO crash. He was the first to seriously investigate it in the late 70s after interviewing the first Army intelligence officer to look at the crash debris. The, then retired, intelligence officer told Freidman it was no balloon they found in the desert in 1947, as the official Air Force story claims. That lead Friedman to interviewing dozens of additional witnesses who told a similar story. This all eventually culminated into several books published in the 80s and the rise of the Roswell incident’s fame. Now it is a household name.
Friedman will be discussing how Astronomers view the UFO phenomenon, arguing that many of the so-called skeptics, ” have done their research by proclamation rather than investigation.” He will be presenting his lecture on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

The neuroscientist, Dr. Bob Davis, will be tackling a much more controversial topic, alien abduction. Davis is a former professor at the State University of New York, where he taught for over 30 years. He is internationally recognized in his field. Intrigued by the large number of claims by people saying they have had alien encounters, he was compelled to conduct a research study. His study included over 2300 individuals who, according to Davis, claimed to have “consciously recalled contact experiences with a Non-Human Intelligent Being (NHIB).”
His findings have lead him to believe that there really is something mysterious, and important, taking place. He will share the results of his studies, and his thoughts on the outcome, on Thursday, February 16, 2017.
Friedman and Davis have done their work independent of an official university backed study. However, Erling Strand from Østfold University College in Norway has the unique position of being in charge of a project that investigates UFOs as part of his school’s studies. Strand is the project manager of Project Hessdalen, an investigation into strange lights that have been seen in Norway’s Hessdalen Valley for decades. The phenomenon has been caught on camera by researchers from many different countries. However, the phenomenon remains unsolved.
Strand will be sharing his findings, showing pictures and video of the lights, and the details of a student science camp that is held in the valley to research the phenomenon. He says, although some suspect the lights to be some sort of natural occurrence, there is not enough evidence to come to that conclusion, and, shockingly, he has not ruled out the possibility of some sort of non-human intelligence at work. Strand will present on the Hessdalen Lights on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

A Florida witness at Titusville reported watching an oval-shaped object crossing the sky “shrouded in the bright, meteor-like light” while waiting for an Atlas V rocket launch, according to testimony in Case 81674 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The events occurred about 8:15 p.m. on January 19, 2017.
“My husband and I were in the viewing bleachers for the launch of the Atlas V rocket carrying a missile detecting satellite,” the witness stated. “We were in a launch delay. I was standing in the bleachers and others were sitting.”
The witness says she was staring at the sky as she had heard that UFOs sometimes frequent launches.
“I was looking towards the east and suddenly I saw an extremely bright, yellow/green light and it was wide, and it was close. It was horizontal to the ground and it streaked by us. I yelled, ‘Look’ and people in the stands caught a glimpse. It was so fast that many missed it, but some didn’t. The woman behind me who was sitting down and just caught a glimpse said it was a meteor. I said, no, there was something in it.”
The witness saw a light streak by with something metallic in it.

The witness described what she saw.
“Just before the yellow/green steak of light vanished, for a fleeting bit of a second, I saw part of something metallic. It had a seam and a shape that was rounded. But the yellow/green light obscured all but a small part of the object. I know what I saw and there was definitely something in that light.”
“We all got on the buses and left. But I was still filled with excitement as I believe that was a UFO. I checked the web and cannot find any record of a meteor on that night.”

A Georgia witness at Danielsville recalled an incident from 1973 where the events may have been a UFO landing site, according to testimony in Case 81562 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness is right up front reporting that they have never seen a UFO, but wishes to recount an incident that occurred on June 1, about 1973.
“I suppose you would call it a ULA – an Unidentified Landing Area,” the witness stated. “Guessing early to mid-70s which is my age early teens. I was on the dirt road below my house. I would ride my motorcycle or horse almost daily. No houses on the dirt road and rarely traveled. Heavily wooded on both sides with no clearings.”
But one day as the witness rounded a corner, a bright white area was glowing off of the road about 20-30 feet.

“I walked up a bank through the trees and saw something I had never seen before. A huge circle maybe 100 feet or more completely flat and covered in pure white sand. I had never seen white sand before. I remember it was so bright it hurt my eyes. There was no vegetation, no red clay, no sticks, no rocks – no anything. There was no road and no trail going to or from it.”
The witness first just wondered what the site was.
“How did they do it? Where did all the trees go? How did they make the sand so white? I remember the more I thought about it the creepier it felt. I would ride by almost daily for the next few years and red mud was gradually taking back over the white sand. However, I do remember that nothing grew there for as long as I lived there which was probably another 10 years.”

But the witness recently thought of the site again and went back to check on it.
“It now has vegetation and the circular outline is harder to distinguish, but you can still see it. One other thing that may or may not be related – I have no memory of my younger years. Doctors have told me it was probably due to the trauma of losing a sibling and may be. Probably a coincidence.”

A North Carolina witness at Elizabeth City reported watching a triangle UFO hover under 500 feet over his vehicle, according to testimony in Case 81565 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The reporting witness was a passenger in his mother’s vehicle on January 11, 2017, as they were driving into town for a birthday dinner.

“On our way to town, I happen to notice what I thought at first was maybe a helicopter or aircraft,” the witness stated. “But it had unusually bright, white lights, with what appeared to be red/green flashing lights, kind of like a normal aircraft might have. Didn’t think too much of it at the time, but kept kind of looking towards it, as it moved slowly.”
As their vehicle moved along, the witness kept watch of the unusual object.
“It arrived at the edge of town, just about the time we did, and was hovering low, over trees and houses. About the time we turned to head towards town, its flight path was heading right for us, so I was like, okay, I’ll see what it was for sure now, cause it’s about to be right over our heads.”

The witness continued to watch the object.
“So I look out the window as it slowly hovered overhead and was dumbfounded by what I saw. It was a triangular-shaped craft, unlike anything I have ever seen before. Three bright, white lights at the corners of the craft. Red lights towards the center. And orange lighting in various places. It seemed to have orange lit, engine-like vents towards the back end of the craft. It seemed to be dark gray in color, but the whole thing had this translucent blueish aura about it.”
The witness described his encounter as brief, but life changing.
“I’ve never seen anything with this level of tech. You could just feel how powerful this thing was. I’m a bit of sci fi fan, and have kind of somewhat believe the possibility of stuff like this existing. The crazy part is, the thing was still in the area on our way home, an hour or so later. Though it didn’t come close to us again. But seriously, it just made everything I’ve ever seen, including fantasy, just pale in comparison. I’ve actually been kind of scared to drive or even go out at night since seeing it. It’s really kind of shaken me up. My mother was driving, so she never got a close look at it like I did, unfortunately. And no pictures either. I honestly was so amazed and shocked, I didn’t even think to try.”

A SENIOR Vietnam vet who claims to have seen several UFOs during his service says there were several confrontations between alien spacecraft and the military during the conflict.
A huge "mothership" George Filer claims to have photographed over Stonehenge
George Filer explains that he was a former Air Force Intelligence Officer required by US authorities to record sightings and information on UFO activity during the 1960s and 70s.
He is the latest in a number of ex-military and NASA veterans to come forward with stories of UFO and alien encounters.
Mr Filer claims while stationed in Vietnam during the War he had “top secret clearance” and gave daily reports to General George S Brown, the deputy commander for air operations during the conflict
Initially his reports consisted of strategic intelligence, but the retired officer claims it often resulted in him logging strange sightings of alien craft and contact between them and US troops and airplanes.
He told the Huffington Post: "The military was interested in UFOs because they had capabilities far above anything that we had, and they wanted to find out what the technology was and, frankly, who they belonged to.
“Frequently, the Vietcong or North Vietnamese would be attacking an outpost and I would explain that (to Brown), and we would have ground-air support, particularly at night where we’d go in there with these gun ships, and I would give briefings on all of that. Some of the time, there would be unidentified craft over the demilitarised zone.”
Mr Filer insists his experience and reports from other military personal went beyond just distant UFO sightings and there were unidentified craft "engaging" with US jets.

So, obviously, it has a technology far in advance of anything we have."
He claimed much of it was reported to him unofficially as someone expressing "too much interest" could have ruined their career.
Mr Filer claims the sightings continue today with veterans of the most recent war in Afghanistan also reporting sightings to him through his UFO research website.
He claims, in another reported 1968 Vietnam UFO encounter, an American patrol boat radioed in that they were being followed by “two glowing circular” UFOs as the boat made its way through the demilitarised zone between North and South Vietnam.
A second patrol boat then saw a flash, followed by an explosion that reportedly destroyed the boat that had initially reported the UFOs stalking them, he insisted.

The UFO buff, who runs www.nationalufocenter.com, also tells of a notable incident over the UK when he was navigator on a refuelling tanker in 1962, came face to face with a massive unidentified object.
He described being in the North Sea when London Control asked if his crew would intercept an unidentified object over Stonehenge.
Mr Filer reported “seeing lights around it, outlining the shape of a cylinder, like a cruise ship,” before it "rapidly ascended and disappeared."
Last month Clark C McClelland, who says he worked with NASA as an aerospace engineer for 35 years from 1958 to 1992, maintained he had a number of sightings including allegedly seeing a nine-foot tall alien in a space suit interacting with two NASA astronauts on the Space Shuttle while he observed the mission from the Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida, in 1991.
He also told how he lost his pension and was living on welfare following his disclosures also made on his own website www.stargate-chronicles.com.
Major George Filer was an Air Force Intelligence Officer who not only had an extraordinary encounter with a massive UFO on radar over the United Kingdom but later, in the 1970s while he was at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, found out that an extraterrestrial biological entity had been shot at Fort Dix.
A Canadian witness at Estey’s Bridge reported watching and videotaping a stationary light in the sky emitting a “growling noise” that quickly moved away, according to testimony in Case 81127 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was letting her dogs out into the backyard when the incident began at 5:10 p.m. on December 23, 2016.
“I heard a growling noise in the sky, so I looked up as I was thinking to myself that this is was an unusual sound,” the witness stated.

The witness first thought that an object was crashing to the ground.
“But as I observed it for a few more minutes, it stayed stationary, then it went side-to-side.”
The witness called out to her husband and asked him to bring a camera outside.

“He watched it for a bit and said that the camera wouldn’t pick it up. It’s probably a plane, he says. I said, does a plane stay in one place, and then it started shifting back toward us, so he went in the house and retrieved the camera phone. What I got on camera is not what I envisioned, but at least it was something. It really was an amazing view at the beginning, which of course I do not have on camera, because you are kind of bewildered at the start trying to decipher what you are seeing. The video definitely shows my excitement, but it also shows it fleeing toward the horizon.”

But just like these unidentified flying objects themselves, things aren't always as they appear, says Texas MUFON Section 6 director and UFO field investigator Charles Stansburge.
"There are a lot of sightings in and around the Houston area," Stansburge said, adding, "And there are some along the I-10 Corridor, but there are a lot that aren't reported."
The investigator, who lives in Rosenberg, said for every two or three sightings that are reported, there are a great number that aren't.

Right now, Texas MUFON gets about 53 or 54 sightings per month, but he said if everyone who saw something said something, the number would probably reach into the thousands.
"You may have a big flag of UFOs all of a sudden, and then you might have one or two over four or five months," he said. "But these things are happening multiple times a day."
Top 9 places to see UFOs in Houston While Stansburge didn't have any ideas as to why there were so many sightings of UFO along I-10, he has some ideas.
"Most sightings happen where it is pretty dark, where you can't see a lot of light specters around, city lights and such," Stansburge said. "But sightings could be anywhere."

What to do if you see a UFO in Houston Stansburge said if you really want to see a UAV, your first step is to look up.
"A lot of people never see one, and then they come to the meetings we have and say they saw something," he said. "It really depends on what you do, but the main thing is you have to look around, actually look at the sky, or you're not going to see anything."
Next, he encourages you to submit a report if you do see something, even if you're not convinced these things exist.
"A lot of people, when they send a case to MUFON, say, 'I still am skeptical, but it was awesome to see something like that, I don't know if it's real,'" Stansburge said.

North America's Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) tracks an average of 1,800 UFOs annually and intercepts about 75 times each year, according to Canadian Access to Information Act (AIA) documents recently released to UFO Disclosure Advocate Victor Viggiani.
No one at NORAD is saying these were UFOs - but instead, they refer to unidentified objects as Tracks of Interest (TOI) or Unknown Tracks.
Viggiani spoke Saturday night, June 25, 2016, at the Alien Cosmic Expo in Ontario, Canada, and copied panel members on the 11 documents he is in possession of.
NORAD is the North American Aerospace Defense Command - a combined U.S. and Canada organization - that provides aerospace warning, air sovereignty, and defense of North America. NORAD is located at Peterson Air Force Base near Colorado Springs, CO.
In response to Viggiani's request for documents pertaining to NORAD tracking or intercepting UFOs, a letter from NORAD Operations details how requests for information on Unknown Tracks cannot be released due to their sensitive nature due to national security. But the letter does provide a summation from the NORAD Commander.

"However, the NORAD Commander has approved the release of the following information regarding Tracks of Interest (TOI) and Unknown Tracks. The yearly average in the past five years has been 1,800 TOIs and 75 intercepts."
In addition to this letter, Viggiani also received a six-page document as an example of a TOI.
Reached at his home in Toronto today, Viggiani said this particular document is very revealing, but also leaves a number of unanswered questions.
The document is a NORAD status report, which uses a line-item approach as details are available to be reported. Some of the lines are redacted or blocked out so that they cannot be seen. In one area they outline how an intercept was ordered on three objects.
"The missing information," Viggiani said, "is obviously what did they see when they intercepted?"
Viggiani is the News Director of international news service ZlandCommunications. From his biography:

EDITOR’S NOTE:The late Leonard Stringfield was noted for his research into UFO crash/retrievals (CRs). During the mid-1970s he collected reports from pilots, engineers and military personnel who claimed first-hand knowledge. Due to the highly classified nature of these operations, Leonard never released the identities of his sources. His day-to-day dictation notes are now on file at MUFON Headquarters. Historian Michael Schratt is moving through these and presents a series of References from these works.
Reference #13: Additional details emerge in “alien movie.” Leonard received a call from researcher Joan Jeffers who stated that she knew a friend who was based at a Naval Station in Brunswick Maine, who had personally seen the alleged film (sometime around 1955 or 1956). According to the informant, the man in charge of showing this film was a Major Lester Goldberg (attempts by this historian to locate the Major have proven unsuccessful). Source: Leonard

Reference #14: The Stringfield collection contained an article titled “THE GREAT UFO COVERUP” written by Timothy Green Beckley. Some of the points of this article are certainly worth highlighting in this installment of Retrievals of the Third Kind. According to the article, former astronaut Gordon Cooper made an appearance on the Merv Griffin show on March 27, 1978. During the interview, Cooper made some rather shocking comments that rattled the live audience. The next day, phone lines were jammed as many across the nation tried to contact the producers of the show for further details. Towards the end of the interview, Merv directed the following statement to the former astronaut: “There is a story going around Gordon, that a spaceship did land in middle America, and there were occupants, and members of our government were able to keep one of the occupants alive for a period of time. They’ve seen the metal of the aircraft, and they know what the people look like – is that a credible story”? Expecting a joking reply, Cooper answered the question with the following statement: “I think it’s fairly credible. I would like to see the time when all qualified people not trying to make a dollar selling some weird stories could really work together to properly investigate these stories and either refute or prove them.” However, there were some things during the interview that even he wouldn’t discuss on the air. Fortunately, UFO researcher Lee Spiegel developed a friendship with Cooper, and got him to open up about what he knew. According to Spiegel: “Cooper admitted to me that he could have revealed more on the air, but he decided not to reveal his entire hand because he felt certain that some official eyebrows were going to get raised. He further indicated that he has several friends who were involved in the episode, and knew a lot more than he had about the extraterrestrials that had been found inside this crashed UFO.”
Spiegel was also successful in getting Cooper to discuss his other UFO related experiences. During the early 1950’s, Cooper was assigned to a fighter group in Germany. He clearly remembered the week when an entire formation of disc-shaped craft passed the air base on an almost daily schedule. Cooper continues: “The first day, a weatherman spotted some strange objects flying at high altitude and, before long, the entire fighter group was out looking at these groups of objects coming over.” However, according to Cooper, “unlike fighters, they would stop in their forward velocity, and change 90 degrees, sometimes in the middle of their flight path.” Within days, Cooper and his fellow pilots tried desperately to intercept these strange unknown craft, which were flying far too high, and far too fast for their vintage 1950’s F-84 and F-86 jet fighters. Obviously, the UFOs could out maneuver all American fighter aircraft. Cooper continues again: “We never could get close enough to pin them down, but they were round in shape and very metallic-looking.”
However, years later, Cooper would have another amazing UFO related experience when he was transferred to Edwards AFB in 1957.
What happened on a sunny afternoon when he was on duty is clear evidence that the United States government definitely keeps UFO related secrets from the American public and the world. Even after 56 years, the photographic evidence of this case remains “under wraps.” During the time of the incident, Cooper was project manager at Edwards. After lunch, Cooper assigned a group of photographers to a remote portion of the base. The photographers were equipped with motion picture film cameras, and were there to record precision landings. Cooper described what the cameramen witnessed: “While the crew was out there, they spotted a strange looking craft above the lake bed, and began taking films of it.” The craft was according to Cooper, “hovering above the ground, and then it slowly came down and sat on the lake bed for a few minutes.” Throughout the entire duration of this encounter, the movie cameras were running.”
“There were varied estimates by the cameramen on what the actual size of the object was.”
Cooper continued: “But they all agreed that it was at least the size of a vehicle that would carry normal-sized people in it.” Further statements from Cooper regarding this incident indicate that the craft was approximately 30 feet in diameter, shiny silver in color, and it extended three landing gear legs before touching down on the lake bed. The camera crew got within 20 yards from the craft before it departed. Unfortunately, Gordon Cooper was not outside at the base to actually see the craft himself, but he did see the motion picture films as soon as they were developed. “It was a typical shaped UFO,” he recollects. “Not too many people saw it, because it took off at quite a sharp angle, and just climbed straight on out of sight.” Apparently, Cooper did not initiate an investigation to determine how many people on base actually saw the craft. This was because according to Cooper, UFOs frequently paid visits to the base. After he had reviewed the film at least a dozen times, the footage was placed in a pouch, and sent to Washington D.C. (NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN). After a few weeks, Cooper expected to get a reply from Washington regarding what the cameramen had filmed……none ever came.
Cooper relates: “I’m sure there is a great deal of information up in Washington, if only somebody could just find it.” In the same article, movie producer Peter Kares claims that one of his contacts, who was an ex-Air Force pilot stated that he was present at the scene when a UFO was carried away. He was later harassed, because he refused to sign a pledge stating that he would never talk about what he had inadvertently seen. Others have also run across pieces of the UFO crash/retrieval puzzle. Within the same article, UFO investigator Charles Wilhelm stated that he talked to an electronics expert who was in the Army in the mid-1950’s. The witness claims that he was flown to Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey, to observe a special film. According to Wilhelm, “His job was to analyze from the film anything that he could define from his experience in radar technology. After arriving at the base, he was escorted to a guarded building where the film was going to be shown. When he arrived, there were already nine others, plus a Major who was setting up the projector. Before the film, all those all those in attendance were told to take notes and, when the film was over, never to discuss what they had seen with each other or with anyone else. He even signed papers to that effect afterwards. The film began by showing a strange, disc-shaped object with two guards, one on each side of the craft. The ship was sitting on two large blocks, and the technician estimated the craft to be 15 to 18 feet in diameter. Its surface was smooth, except for some tool marks around the door entrance. A ramp extended to the ground. The UFO was either silver or light gray in color.”
Next, the interior of the craft was slowly shown. “There were no meters, no radar screens, no buttons, and no windows of any kind. The only details he was able to see were some type of levers that looked like sticks. The interior was decorated with light pastel colors.” Then, the camera panned outside and off to the right. According to Wilhelm’s informant, “There was a table with three small bodies laid out. The film showed the bodies up close for about five minutes. They were approximately five feet tall, their heads were larger than ours, their fingers were longer than a human’s, their noses were sharper, their ears longer, eyes were closed but looked Oriental, and their body color was ash-looking. They were all dressed alike, in uniforms of yellow with black trimming. Their skin looked quite wrinkled, as though they had been quite old.” Charles Wilhelm insisted that the man who told him this story was absolutely telling the truth. The military contact stated that when the film was over, many who attended the screening had multiple questions. However, the Major refused to provide any details, only stating that the craft was found in New Mexico. Author’s special note: This is now at least the third reference to an unusual film being shown to military personnel which depicted a strange circular-shaped craft, with alleged extraterrestrial bodies. It is not known if this is the same film which was shown to multiple eyewitnesses, or if there were in point of fact three different films.

ALL sighting reports received by CMS are already filled in by the witness, saving you and your investigators time. Each report is automatically sent to YOU, the State Director and Assistant State Director, for you to assign someone to follow-up and complete the report.

This gives you a blank sighting reporting form that you can fill out while the witness is on the phone.
