10-year Mystery of ‘Alien’ Sounds from Deepest Ocean Trench Solved
10-year Mystery of ‘Alien’ Sounds from Deepest Ocean Trench Solved
Ten years ago scientists detected odd and mysterious noises coming from inside the planet’s deepest ocean trench, the Mariana Trench. The sounds were identified as “biotwangs” and were comprised of deep moaning or grumbling noises followed by a series of high-pitched metallic-sounding pings. Despite the almost mechanical nature of the sound, scientists were certain that it must be the call of some species of animal (most likely a large whale). That theory has now been confirmed.
With the help of an artificial intelligence identification system developed by Google, experts affiliated with the United States government’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have discovered that the strange sounds were made by Bryde’s whales. This species of baleen whale is seldom spotted in the wild, but these gigantic creatures (they can grow to up to 55 feet or 17 meters long) possess the ability to swim to extreme depths.
Artificial Intelligence Reveals the Secret Lives of Bryde’s Whales
The odd biotwangs were recorded in 2014 by scientists using underwater vehicles to complete an acoustic survey of the Mariana Trench, which can be found in the northwestern Pacific Ocean running diagonally of the coast of Japan. This huge underwater landform covers more than 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers) of seafloor, reaching a maximum depth of 6.8 miles (10.9 kilometers).
In an article published in Frontiers in Marine Science, the researchers involved in this new study explain how they used the AI system to sort through more than 200,000 hours of undersea audio recordings, looking specifically for whale sounds. These recordings were made by NOAA hydrophones mounted in the region surrounding the Mariana Islands, which are located above the massive trench that shares their name.
The AI system was trained to detect the distinctive signals of eight species of whale, including Bryde’s whales, whose sounds had been recorded while they were swimming near the Mariana Islands a few years ago.
Scientists already knew there was a strong similarity between the sounds heard coming from the Mariana Trench and the calls emitted by the Bryde’s whales spotted near the adjacent islands. And in a 2016 study they’d detected certain markers in the 2014 recordings that proved they must have come from some type of baleen whale. But this wasn’t enough to conclusively prove a link. More evidence was needed, and this is what the undersea NOAA recordings provided.
Given the voluminous nature of the recordings collected by NOAA, it would have been impossible for humans to sort through them looking for specific sounds linked to one animal species. But the high-powered AI system created by Google was able to track the migratory movements of Bryde’s whales across the region, separating out its distinctive calls and connecting them to the underwater locations where they were recorded as they swam by. It did this using a unique process that converted the biotwangs and related sounds into images known as spectrograms, which a machine learning algorithm was then able to differentiate from other recorded noises.
Throughout their travels one group of Bryde’s whales in particular continued to emit the biotwang sounds that could now be identified as the same ones detected in the Mariana Trench in 2014. With so many matches sorted out of recordings, the source of the mysterious trench sounds could no longer be debated, despite its highly extraordinary qualities.
“Your average person would not think that it was made by an animal – they would think it was some ship or the [US] Navy,” study lead author Ann Allen from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said in an interview with New Scientist.
Intriguingly, these distinctive whale calls were not found in recordings that covered Bryde’s whale migration paths in other parts of the Pacific. It was only the Bryde’s whales living in the vicinity of the Mariana Trench that were recorded making these sounds, as they completed their migrations across that underwater region of the globe.
This means the strange biotwang belongs to what is essentially a local dialect, highlighting the intelligence and creativity of this elusive baleen whale species.
"It's possible that they use the biotwang as a contact call, a sort of 'Marco Polo' of the ocean," Allen told Popular Science. "But we need more information before we can say for sure."
Whale Migrations May Be Threatened by Climate Change
One surprising finding of the new research is that there was a sudden increase in the frequency of the biotwang noises in 2016. At this time there was a rise in ocean temperatures in the northwest Pacific caused by an El Niño event, which led to increased migration of Bryde’s whales into the area.
The Mariana Trench is located in a part of the ocean where a moving boundary separates warm water from cool water, and Bryde’s whale migrations seem to be tied to the movements of that boundary (warmer waters means an increase in the population of plankton and other creatures these huge whales consume). The boundary actually has a name, which is the transition zone chlorophyll front.
“As climate change advances, we expect more frequent and more extreme El Niño and La Niña events, and we expect this transition zone chlorophyll front to go further north and be more variable,” Allen said.
“This means that the whales may have to travel further and work a lot harder to find their food, which can impact the health of the population.”
It is intriguing to speculate whether the whales themselves will recognize that underwater conditions are changing as climate change progresses. They obviously wouldn’t know what was responsible for the changes, but given their great intelligence it seems possible that they understand that something significant was going on.

Omen or coincidence? Lightning strikes Washington and New York City landmarks on New Year's Eve
Omen or coincidence? Lightning strikes Washington and New York City landmarks on New Year's Eve
What are the chances of four iconic landmarks being struck by lightning on the same day?
On December 31, 2024, an extraordinary series of lightning strikes hit four major landmarks: the U.S. Capitol Building and the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., along with the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center in New York City.
The lightning strikes occurred during intense rainstorms along the East Coast, coinciding with New Year's Eve celebrations. The rare phenomenon quickly ignited a flurry of speculation on social media, with many users interpreting the event as symbolic. Some called it a potential omen, asking: "Is this a sign? What could it mean?"
Researchers investigate possible transitional phase between life and death In a groundbreaking discovery that challenges our understanding of life and death, scientists have uncovered a mysterious "third state" of existence. This intermediate phase, where cells from deceased organisms continue to function and even evolve, opens up new possibilities in biology and medicine.
Could the third state hold the key to extending human lifespan or even achieving immortality? While this may seem like science fiction, the implications of this discovery are profound. Click through and find out.
It's alive! Stories like 'Frankenstein' explore the idea of reviving the dead. While this might seem like science fiction, recent studies suggest a "third state" of existence may be a reality in modern biology.
Redefining death If further experiments on cells from dead animals, including humans, confirm this ability, our concept of legal death could be redefined.
What is the "third state"? Researchers from the University of Washington and City of Hope National Medical Center revealed in a new study in the journal Physiology that a "third state" occurs when cells from a deceased organism continue to function after its death.
Transformation This happens when certain cells—when given nutrients, oxygen, bioelectricity, or biochemical signals—reorganize and transform into new multicellular organisms.
More cell bots In a 2023 study published in Advanced Science, researchers also discovered that human lung cells could self-organize into tiny multicellular organisms called "anthrobots."
Medical breakthrough The ability of anthrobots to move, self-repair, and heal nerve cells, surpassing xenobots, holds promise for future medical applications.
Fuel source Access to "fuel," whether from the hidden electrical system or artificial lab sources, and the cells' ability to metabolize it are crucial for post-mortem survival and function.
What's next? For researchers, the results are promising as they consider the research a significant step toward bringing animal cells, and a wider range of human cells, into this third state.
Mini-doctors For example: using a person's own living tissue, specialists could create anthrobots that would deliver medication to damaged cells without triggering an immune response.
Use cases Another use case would be to clear excess mucus in patients with cystic fibrosis, a severe inherited disorder affecting the lungs, digestive system, and other organs.
What if... However, using elements of deceased organisms to create new life remains controversial. This theme, with its potentially catastrophic consequences, has been explored in numerous pop culture references, such as the 1985 movie 'Re-Animator.'
Dangerous outcome In the '80s cult film, a medical student discovers how to re-animate dead tissue, leading to a series of horrifying events as the reanimated corpses exhibit a frenetic, zombie-like state.
Positive outlook Sci-fi exaggerations aside, researchers believe the third state holds great promise. "This research has the potential to transform regenerative medicine, redefine legal death, and provide insights into life's physiological limits (...)”, they concluded.
Positive outlook The anthrobots study authors hope to observe similar "healing" behavior in human neurodegenerative diseases. They suggest potential applications like repairing damaged retinas or spinal cords, though these remain speculative.
In 1970, Soviet scientists embarked on an ambitious project to drill as deep as possible into the Earth's crust. The result was the Kola Superdeep Borehole, located in the remote Pechengsky District of Murmansk Oblast, Russia. Reaching a depth of 12,262 meters (40,230 feet), it remains the deepest man-made hole on Earth to this day. Originally intended as a scientific exploration of the Earth’s crust, the project uncovered a treasure trove of geological data and sparked decades of intrigue. Fast forward to 2024, Russian authorities have officially announced the permanent sealing of the borehole, citing both safety concerns and the enigmatic findings from its depths.
A Glimpse Into Earth's Hidden History At the heart of the decision lies an extraordinary discovery made during the drilling process. Approximately 9,000 meters down, scientists uncovered microscopic fossils embedded in rocks estimated to be over 2 billion years old. These fossils, believed to be remnants of ancient single-celled organisms, offered an unprecedented look into early life on Earth.
The Final Seal: A New Era for Kola On December 15, 2024, Russian officials sealed the Kola Superdeep Borehole with a reinforced concrete cap. The decision was influenced by concerns over structural integrity, as well as the increasing difficulty of maintaining the site in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Scientific Contributions That Changed the World The borehole's legacy extends far beyond its depth. Among its most notable contributions were revelations about the Earth's crust. Scientists discovered that the crust was thinner than previously thought and that water existed at great depths, likely trapped in rock formations.
Mysteries and Myths: The "Sounds of Hell" Over the years, the Kola Superdeep Borehole became a focal point for myths and conspiracy theories. In the 1980s, rumors spread that microphones lowered into the borehole recorded the "sounds of hell." These tales, fueled by doctored recordings and imaginative storytelling, have been debunked but continue to capture the public's imagination.
The Kola Superdeep Borehole has long been a point of local and international interest. Its presence brought increased tourism to the region, with travelers drawn to the site’s history and significance. However, maintaining the area proved challenging, particularly as infrastructure aged and environmental concerns grew.
A Symbol of Cold War Ambition The Kola Superdeep Borehole stands as a symbol of the scientific ambition that defined the Cold War era. The Soviet Union's race to explore uncharted territories of science and technology led to unparalleled achievements, including this record-breaking endeavor.
Why Now? Timing of the Closure The timing of the closure has sparked debate within the scientific community. Some argue that technological advancements in drilling and remote sensing could have allowed for further exploration. Others point out that the borehole has been inactive since the early 1990s, with little new research conducted in recent decades.
Preserving the Legacy Through Digital Records To ensure the borehole's contributions remain accessible, Russia has launched an initiative to digitize all data and samples collected during the project. This extensive archive will be shared with international research institutions, fostering continued study and collaboration.77
International Interest in Deep Earth Exploration The closure of the Kola Superdeep Borehole has reignited interest in deep-earth exploration worldwide. Countries such as Japan and the United States have ongoing projects aiming to drill into the mantle. These initiatives build on the lessons learned from Kola and seek to answer fundamental questions about Earth’s formation and behavior.
Lessons Learned: Balancing Ambition and Responsibility The Kola Superdeep Borehole serves as a case study in balancing scientific ambition with environmental and logistical realities. As nations continue to push the boundaries of exploration, the borehole’s history offers valuable insights into the challenges of operating in extreme environments.
Community Reactions to the Closure The closure has elicited mixed reactions. While many scientists and locals support the decision, others mourn the end of an era. Social media has been flooded with posts celebrating the borehole’s achievements and sharing personal anecdotes about visits to the site.
The Future of Earth Science Exploration As the Kola Superdeep Borehole fades into history, its legacy continues to inspire scientists and explorers. The lessons learned from this extraordinary project will undoubtedly shape the next generation of earth science research.

When most of us think of UFOs, we likely cast our minds no further back than the late 1940s, which is widely considered to be the start of the modern UFO era. Likewise, when the subject of encounters with aliens and alien abduction are discussed, we almost certainly think of cases from the 1970s, eighties, or even 1990s. The fact is, though, there are many encounters on record that appear to clearly describe strange aerial objects, as well as some that even suggest interaction with otherworldly entities long before the mid-twentieth century.
Perhaps a good place to start would be with the Tulli Papyrus, and what some people have claimed is one of the earliest documented sightings of a UFO somewhere around 1500 BC. This intriguing document, it is claimed, records the appearance of a strange object over the land of ancient Egypt. The document was first discovered in 1933 while the Director of the Egyptian Museum at the Vatican, Alberto Tulli, was working in Cairo, although what makes it particularly controversial is that no one – other than Tulli, that is – has ever seen the original. According to Tulli’s account, he came across the ancient papyrus, which was written in hieratic script, while in an antique shop. However, he didn’t have enough money to purchase it. Instead, he made a copy and then translated the hieratic scripts into hieroglyphics. Of course, this has led some people to contemplate just how accurate the translations are and whether the document ever existed at all. Whatever the truth, the full translation of the document – according to Tulli – reads as follows:
“In the year 22, in the third month of winter, in the sixth hour of the day, the scribes of the House of Life noticed a circle of fire that was coming from the sky...From the mouth it emitted a foul breath. It had no head. Its body was one rod long and one rod wide. It had no voice. And from that the hearts of the scribes became confused and they threw themselves down on their bellies...then they reported the thing to the Pharaoh...His Majesty ordered...has been examined...and he was meditating on what had happened, that it was recorded in the scrolls of the House of the Life. Now after some days had passed, these things became more and more numerous in the skies. Their splendor exceeded that of the sun and extended to the limits of the four angles of the sky...High and wide in the sky was the position from which these fire circles came and went. The army of the Pharaoh looked on with him in their midst. It was after supper. Then these fire circles ascended higher into the sky and they headed toward the south. Fish and birds then fell from the sky. A marvel never before known since the foundation of their land...And Pharaoh caused incense to be brought to make peace with Earth...and what happened was ordered to be written in the Annals of the House of Life so that it be remembered for all time forward.”
It is easy to see how such a translation would be interpreted as a UFO encounter. It is claimed that once Tulli had translated the document and realized the true importance of what he had read, he disclosed the findings to the Vatican, who agreed to fund the purchase of the papyrus. However, by the time he returned to the shop, the ancient writing was no longer there – it had mysteriously disappeared. The tale, though, would take another turn two decades later in the early 1950s.
In 1953, an Italian man, Prince Boris of Rachelwiltz, claimed to have found a torn version of the ancient papyrus in a book that had once belonged to none other than Alberto Tulli. He claimed that he also translated the ancient writing and, much like Tulli, revealed a description of a disc or circle of fire. Interestingly, the Vatican denied any knowledge of the whereabouts of the apparent original document.
A decade and a half later, in 1968, the Tulli Papyrus was featured in the US Air Force-commissioned Condon Report when Samuel Rosenberg asked the Vatican to comment on the claims of the original document and translation. The Vatican offered the document was “not the property of the Vatican Museum” and that Tulli had “disappeared and was never found”, which is perhaps ominous in itself. They also stated they had discovered that Tulli was not an Egyptologist and, as such, was not qualified to have translated the document, if indeed it ever existed. Even more remarkable, they further claimed that “Rachelwitz, in a confidential letter, admitted that he had never seen the original document or Tulli’s original notes”. In short, the Vatican was not only distancing itself from the Tulli Papyrus, but they were also ensuring there was considerable doubt cast onto both Tulli and Rachelwitz.
As we might imagine, some researchers and investigators are suspicious of the Vatican’s comments, believing them to be nothing more than a cover-up of their knowledge regarding the document’s existence and authenticity. However, as intriguing and thought-provoking as the alleged document is, we need to treat the alleged documentation with a considerable pinch of salt.
While there might be doubt regarding the Tulli Papyrus, the records of ancient Rome are much more solid, especially given the meticulous procedures involved in record-keeping in the Roman Empire. And surprisingly or not, there are several documented incidents that sound very much like UFO encounters.
In the book Wonders in the Sky: Unexplained Aerial Objects from Antiquity to Modern Times, Jacques Vallee and Chris Aubeck relay just such an incident from 343 BC. The account is found in the writings of Diodorus Siculus, who documents the journey of Timoleon from Corinth to Sicily and who, ultimately, suggested that a strange light in the sky guided his route. He would write that “all through the night he was preceded by a torch blazing in the sky up to the moment when the squadron made harbor in Italy!” The insinuation that the light in question remained until Timoleon reached his destination upon which it disappeared might very well suggest some kind of purposeful interaction.
Just over a century later, between 218 to 201 BC, during the Second Punic War, the Pontifex Maximus of Rome documented several sightings of “gleaming round shields” in the Annales Maximi. Just under a hundred years later, in the year 122 BC, over the skies of Ariminium in modern-day Italy, when there were several reports of “three moons” appearing in the sky overhead. Furthermore, these “moons” were visible not only at night but also for several hours during the day. The incident was one of several documented by Pliny the Elder in his Historia Naturallis volumes, who wrote, “Three moons have appeared at once in the consulship of Gnaeus Domitius and Gaius Fannius”.
Just under 50 years later, in 74 BC in what is modern-day Turkey, a truly remarkable incident was documented by Roman historian Plutarch. According to his writings, on the day in question, under bright sunshine, Roman and Turkish soldiers were advancing toward each other in anticipation of a bloody battle when a sound like the rumble of thunder was heard, followed by a bright flash of light. The two battalions stopped their advances and looked upwards to the sky, where they saw a “huge flame-like body” that proceeded to “fall between the two armies!” Plutarch wrote that the object was shaped like a “wine jar” and was silver in color. Incidentally, both armies retreated a short time later, which perhaps should make us contemplate whether the intention of the landing was to cause the battle to be abandoned, and if that was true, it would suggest a definite interference in human affairs by the intelligence behind the object.
There is another interesting sighting documented from the year 12 BC, and while there is not a great amount of detail, it features a detail that has been witnessed several times in UFO sightings of our contemporary era. According to the ancient report, residents of Rome witnessed the appearance of a “comet-like” object that hovered over the city for several days. After this, it then “melted”, with witnesses stating that pieces that melted away looked similar to flashing torches. What is interesting is that in the twenty-first century, there have been several sightings of glowing objects hovering overhead that then emit several “drips” that look similar to pieces melting from it. Whether these objects are extraterrestrial vehicles or not, it is interesting to see a report detailing an almost identical event.
A particularly thought-provoking incident was documented by historian Josephus and took place in Judea in the year 65, where the residents of the city witnessed what can only be described as a battle between aerial objects. In fact, Josephus would write that the account would “likely have been deemed a fable were it not for the narratives of eyewitnesses!” He continued that on the day in question, “armed battalions (were) hurtling through the clouds”, which then forced the ground to shake. Another historian, Tacitus, also documented the remarkable affair, writing that “in the sky appeared a vision of armies in conflict, of glittering armor!”
Documented reports of what we would determine from a modern perspective as being a battle between UFOs can be found a millennium and a half later on two separate occasions. The first occurred on April 14th, 1561, in the city of Nuremberg in Germany and was documented in an illustrated broadsheet the following week by Hanns Glaser, a “letter-painter” of the city. Glaser offered that the residents of the city were witness to “a very frightful spectacle” overhead as globes of “blood-red, bluish, or black” hung in the sky. Among these globes were “plates and blood-colored crosses”. Glaser continued that several of these objects were “three in a row”, which perhaps suggested they were in some kind of formation. Also mentioned was the presence of huge tube-shaped objects from which further “globes” emerged, perhaps suggesting they were motherships. Glaser went on to detail how these strange aerial vehicles went on to “fight one another” until “they all fell…from the sun and sky down to the earth as if everything was on fire!” When the flames died down all that was left was “immense smoke”.
Just over five later, during the course of several weeks between late July and early August 1566, in Basel, Switzerland, further apparent aerial battles were witnessed. These sightings would culminate just before dawn on August 7th, when “many large black globes were seen in the air, moving before the sun with great speed!” The incident was documented by Samuel Coccius, who stated that the black globes were “turning against each other as if fighting. Some of them became red and fiery and afterward faded and went out!” We might conclude that the “red and fiery” refers to some kind of aerial explosion that caused these craft to fall to the ground.
According to an account that can be found in the book Best UFO Cases – Europe by Illobrand Von Ludwiger, at around 2 pm on the afternoon of April 8th, 1665, in Stralsund, Germany, near the Baltic Sea, several fishermen noticed what they thought was a particularly large swarm of birds over the water. However, the longer they watched this swarm, the more they noticed that they “changed to battleships in the sky!” Clearly, we can conclude that no physical transformation took place, but that the birds were, in fact, aerial vehicles that simply became clearer to the fishermen the closer they got. The strangeness, though, was just beginning.
As the fishermen looked on, the object began fighting “one against the other” which caused a “lot of smoke” to develop. Even more amazing, further objects arrived in the sky, each joining the aerial battle that was clearly taking place. The fishermen watched this bizarre show for several hours. According to the 1680 writings of Erasmus Francisci (who was one of Ludwiger’s sources for his account), these aerial battles “were frequent in the medieval age” and were regarded as “air visions” that were often seen as a warning.
Then, the battle seemed to come to a stop and the objects dispersed before a huge object suddenly appeared overhead. Francisci described this “flat round form” as looking very much “like a plate” or “like the big hat of a man” and was “the color of the moon!” It proceeded to move slowly across the sky before coming to a stop directly over St. Nikolai Church. It remained there for several hours with multiple residents of the area now aware of its presence. While many witnesses at the time – who already, according to Francisci, believed these aerial displays were divine visions – believed its decision to stop over the church was a further sign of divinity, we should perhaps consider that as one of the tallest buildings of the times, it is understandable that apparent aerial visitors would focus on them as a point of interest. Whatever the truth, the large object eventually left the region and disappeared.
The following day, however, the main witnesses to the bizarre events, the fishermen, became suddenly ill, with descriptions offering that they were “trembling all over and (had) pain in (their) head and limbs!” One detail states that one of the men had even been physically sick “on his feet!” Two of the fishermen were eventually “interrogated” by local authorities, and it was determined that the entire episode had been a vision from God. Today, though, we can see the event for what it seemingly was: some kind of aerial battle involving vehicles that very well could have been from another world.
There are several things for us to quickly consider here. We have already examined two similar encounters from the previous century that took place in the same region of Europe. As bizarre as it might sound, should we contemplate that there was some kind of aerial conflict taking place on Earth between two warring cosmic visitors from elsewhere in the Universe, and if so, why had such potential alien civilizations chosen the Earth for this battle? Or might we consider that these futuristic vehicles belonged to two civilizations already present on Earth, and if this was the case, who were these advanced civilizations and where did they go?
Just over four centuries earlier, in 1180 in Kii Province in Japan, as documented in The Book of Ghosts, UFOs, and the Unexplained by James Paton, several fishermen witnessed a bright object they described as an “earthen-ware vessel” in the night sky. An earthen-ware vessel, incidentally, is similar to a soup bowl or saucer – similar to how objects were often described at the start of the modern UFO era. The fishermen offered that the object had first appeared from the direction of Mount Nyoigadake before suddenly changing direction and disappearing into the distance with great speed.
Just over half a century later, also in Japan, in 1235, according to an account documented in the medieval Japanese text, the Azuma Kagami, General Yoritsune ordered what could possibly be regarded as the first UFO investigation on record. The orders were issued after Yoritsune and his men witnessed several strange lights dancing in the night sky as they camped for the night. They watched them for several hours as they performed bizarre maneuvers overhead. Following the lights vanishing, Yoritsune gathered his most intelligent men and ordered them to investigate what the lights might have been and report their findings to him. Incidentally, his men insisted that the lights were “completely natural” and that the aerial anomaly was likely the result of “the wind making the stars sway!”
Another account detailed in James Paton’s The Book of Ghosts, UFOs, and the Unexplained occurred just short of 20 years later, on New Year’s Day 1254 in St. Albans in Hertfordshire, England. On the night in question, several monks had gathered at the local church in order to celebrate the New Year festivities and witnessed “a kind of large ship, elegantly shaped and of marvelous color!” According to the writing of the incident – documented by Matthew of Paris – hovered silently over the church, clearly standing out against the stars in the early evening sky. The object remained where it was for several minutes before ascending high into the sky and disappearing from sight. Whatever the object was, it is widely agreed by UFO investigators and historians alike that they most certainly saw something very strange.
Across the Atlantic in the New World that would become the United States of America, we find many more sightings of strange, out-of-place aerial objects. Arguably, the first recorded sighting of what we would today call a UFO occurred on the banks of the Muddy River near Boston, Massachusetts, one evening in 1638. Jeff Belanger relays the account in the book Picture Yourself Legend Tripping: Your Complete Guide to Finding UFOs, Monster, Ghosts, and Urban Legends in Your Own Backyard, offering the incident was first recorded in the journal of Governor John Winthrop. Winthrop wrote that a local man named James Everell – widely regarded as a “sober, discreet” man – along with two other unnamed men, witnessed a large, bright light moving across the night sky on the evening in question. Further, according to the report, the object stopped and hovered momentarily – where it would “flare up” – before moving once more, when it “took on the shape of a swine” (we might imagine that the object Winthrop was trying to describe was cigar or tube-shaped). The report continues that the witnesses followed the object for around a mile, noting that it was “swift as an arrow”, before it eventually disappeared into the distance.
At around 9 pm on the evening of June 30th, 1790, in the Schoharie County region of New York, a “bright shining light” was witnessed by a local German immigrant to the United States while sitting on his porch, who would eventually speak of the incident in 1823 in an official statement to the Historical Philosophical Society of the State of New York. At the same time that he noticed the light, he heard a “great roar” that seemed to come from the glowing object. The brightness of the object continued to increase, so much so that the witness stated it appeared as though he was sitting in the “noonday sun!”
To begin with, this strange craft moved across the sky in a similar fashion to a meteorite. However, after several moments, it leveled out somewhat and maintained the same altitude as it carried on its path just above the treetops before it ascended slightly with the speed of a “galloping horse” as it went over Owelus Sowless Hill. The witness further described the object as being around 300 yards long and a similar shape to a snake but with a shape similar to “the roots of a tree plucked up by force” where the head should be. The exterior of the object, according to the witness’s statement, “closely resembled a welding hot iron and sparked similar to it!” Even more remarkable, the witness claimed to have felt a considerable heat coming from the craft, despite being a significant distance away from it. In fact, such was the heat coming from the object that it warmed his entire house. What’s more, an aroma of burning sulfur and tar permeated the air around him and remained until well into the next day long after the object had gone.
Around half a century later, in the November 26th, 1846, edition of the Official Gazette of the Empire of Brazil newspaper, we can find what is widely agreed to be Brazil’s first officially documented UFO encounter. Furthermore, and lending immediate credibility to the case, the writer of the article, who was also the main witness, was a highly respected and decorated member of the Brazilian Navy, Augusto Lerverger.
The incident unfolded just before 6 am one morning in June 1846, when Lerverger was leading two gunboats down the Paraguay River, which runs between Paraguay and Brazil’s Matto Grasso area, on their way to Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay (the expedition was said to be a “military muscle-flexing” exercise on the part of the Brazilian government). They were just under 20 miles away from their destination when they witnessed a “phenomenon never seen before!” Lerverger wrote that out of the clear and calm sky, a “luminous globe performed with instant speed a 30-degree curve” ahead of them. He continued that a “light band” was connected to this globe, along which were “three bodies whose brightness was much more lively!” This object – as well as the three separate objects – continued to increase in brightness. Lerverger further stated that the three objects were separate from each other and were different shapes – one being circular, one an “irregular quadrangle” and the last “an arc of a circle” – with a “ribbon of very faint light” moving around them in a zig-zag motion.
The crew watched the object as it moved, noting that it began to change shape once more, this time appearing like a “flat elliptical shape” before it disappeared into the distance. In total, it was in view for around 25 minutes. By the time they arrived at their destination a short time later, it was clear to all onboard – including the Brazilian Ambassador, Dr. Jose Antonio Bueno, who was also present - that many other people had also seen the aerial anomaly. Lerverger speculated whether they had witnessed a meteor or some other kind of atmospheric phenomena. However, certainly, when examined from a modern perspective, it would appear the crew witnessed some kind of nuts-and-bolts mechanical craft.
As strange as it might sound, 1846 appears to have been quite the year for UFO sightings, with several others on record around the world. A little over a month later, at around 2:30 am on August 25th, 1846, in Saint-Apre, France, Dr. Moreau was making his way home following a late-night house call to one of his patients. As he walked along, a strange light suddenly appeared and enveloped him. When he looked up, he saw a mysterious globe that opened. A moment later, “hundreds of star-like objects” emerged from the globe and went into the air. This bizarre display continued for five minutes before the object disappeared back into the night sky.
Several weeks later, also in France in La Salette on September 19th, 11-year-old Maximin and 14-year-old Melanie Calvat were herding cattle when they reported seeing a suddenly appearing bright light flash across the sky. Although the sighting unfolded during the middle of the day, Melanie offered that the object was “shining more brightly than the sun!” Melanie recalled that she was immediately captivated by the strange glow, stating that as she watched, “something inconceivably fantastic passed” through her. Then, things turned even stranger. Melanie recalled that she witnessed a “lady” emerge from the light, a lady that she claimed was the “Virgin Mary” and that her appearance was a warning or omen.
In November 1846, on the Rangoon River in China, several people onboard a ship making its way down the river noticed a strange light suddenly appear in front of it. The main witness, the ship owner’s wife, and her four-year-old child, along with the ship’s captain, were standing at the front of the vessel when the light appeared. They recalled how the light had the appearance of a “compact flame” which appeared to move for several moments along the water’s edge.
According to another account in the book Wonders in the Sky, several months later, at around 8:30 pm on the evening of March 19th, 1847, in London, England, a witness referred to only as “A”, along with a friend, was walking down Albion Road when the evening took a most unusual turn. The pair suddenly noticed what they believed to be a balloon descending out of the night sky. However, as they watched it, and the lower it got, they quickly realized from “its intense brightness” that the object was “not an Earthly thing!” They continued to watch, noting that every now and then, several “fiery coruscations” were projected from the object as it took on the appearance of an “intensely radiant cloud!” The witness further offered that the object was so bright that it “cast a brilliant light on the houses” below. Both looked on as a second object appeared and descended to the same altitude as the first one. They both hovered in the air for around two minutes before the first object “absorbed” the second one and then began to ascend and disappear into the night sky.
In a letter to the Scientific American, Professor A.C. Carnes relayed another account of a strange aerial object that unfolded in the early hours of June 1st, 1854, on the campus of a Tennessee college. According to the report, several students awoke on the morning in question to see two strange objects hovering in the sky overhead. The witnesses claimed that one of the objects appeared moon-like while the other appeared like a star. The moon-like object began to decrease in size until it eventually disappeared. Then, the other object began to grow. Eventually, it began to change form, first into a globe or spherical object and then into an elongated shape.
In his letter, Carnes wrote, “The first (object) became visible again, and increased rapidly in size, while the other diminished, and the two spots kept changing thus for about half an hour!” After watching the objects until they disappeared, the students sought the advice of their professors, including Carnes, but none of them could offer an explanation. The incident remains a complete mystery today.
Another intriguing incident occurred a little over half a decade later, in March 1861, a short time after the inauguration of President Abraham Lincoln’s first term as President of the United States, once more in New York, a city still far from the sprawling metropolis it is today, but still a jungle of tall buildings that was a “cramped urban setting” for the people who resided there. On the night in question, in an area known as Five Points, Mrs. Kinder was looking out of her bedroom window at the church near her upper-floor apartment when she saw a “cross-like object with a flaming luminosity” moving across the sky. She immediately woke her husband, who also saw the bizarre aerial anomaly. The pair watched the object at the window until it disappeared into the distance. Mrs. Kinder would speak of the encounter to her priest at St. Peters Church in Jersey City, who would document the report in his Baptismal records. Also of interest, around the same time as the sighting, only six blocks from Kinder’s apartment, an entire block of buildings was brought to the ground by a raging fire. Whether there is a connection between this brutal blaze of the fiery object witnessed by Kinder remains open to debate.
While there have undoubtedly been apparent encounters with alien entities long before the twentieth century (some of which we will examine shortly), there is little doubt that an encounter from early 1917 – an account I relay in From Deep Within The Archives Of UFO Insight: History’s Most Bizarre, Outlandish, And Controversial UFO And Alien Encounters - is worth our time exploring here, not least as it features some of the specific details of the alien abduction phenomenon that would sweep the planet decades after the start of the modern UFO era.
According to most sources, the account first appeared in the June 9th, 1978, edition of the Finnish newspaper Kurkijokelainen, in an article written by Latomaen Aino, and documents what appears to be a classic case of alien abduction. According to the account, somewhere between January and Easter of 1917, in the North Karelia region of Finland, a local woman, Anni Lattu, who lived in a small house near the church of Kurkijoki, disappeared for several days before reappearing just as mysteriously. Although many of the local villagers thought it strange that she had seemingly left without saying anything to anyone, they assumed she had gone to visit family, and so no alarm was raised. When Anni returned, however, she did so with a bizarre tale.
She claimed that one morning, while going about her usual chores, a “large apparatus, like a big wash basin” appeared in the sky overhead and descended to the ground near her home. It is worth noting straight away that Anni’s description of this apparent aerial object is disc-shaped, just like many of the objects that would be reported over the second half of the twentieth century, as wash basins in Finland during this time were shaped like large soup bowls. That, though, was far from the only detail that resonated very nicely with close encounters of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.
She stated that several moments after the strange object landed on the ground outside her house, a ladder emerged from the side of the craft and stretched slowly to the ground. A moment after that, several “small creatures” that she referred to as “little devils” appeared on the ladder. They walked down it and over to where she was standing. Although she wasn’t certain how, she knew that these creatures wanted her to go with them, and although she attempted to resist, the figures forcibly took her aboard. She stated that the walls of this futuristic craft shone brightly and that a moment after stepping foot inside, the object was moving. She stated it “traveled very quickly” and that “many wonders were shown to her!” Perhaps most interesting of all, in terms of details that can be found in UFO and alien abduction reports decades later, was that this strange vehicle was silent and “did not make any noise as in the train!” There were, though, further revelations from her remarkable tale.
She went on to describe being taken “above the world” and “between the stars”, clearly indicating she had left the planet and was taken into space. She further claimed that although she didn’t at all know their language, she understood everything the strange entities said to her, leading some researchers to question if her apparent abductors were using telepathy to communicate, something else that often shows up in other alien abduction encounters. The next thing she recalled was standing outside her house. To Anni, she had been gone only a short time. It was only when she spoke to friends and neighbors that she realized several days had passed.
According to the article, Anni was happy to speak to anyone who would listen about her fantastic adventure. However, as we might expect, most of the villagers dismissed her account, suspecting she had hallucinated the entire thing, perhaps as a result of suffering an intense fever from exposure to the cold, they reasoned. Or perhaps she had suffered a mental breakdown. Anni, though, never wavered from her version of events.
Several months after the publication of the article in the summer of 1978, Finish UFO investigator Mauritz Heitamaki took an interest in the case. So much so, in fact, that he ventured to the village where the apparent abduction had taken place. Even more remarkable, during his investigation, he managed to track down a witness who claimed to have known Anni shortly after the abduction happened.
The witness – referred to in Heitamaki’s report only as NM – claimed that when she was seven years old, her mother was Anni’s neighbor, and the pair would often speak. NM would listen to these conversations and clearly remembered hearing Anni speaking of the bizarre affair with her mother on several occasions. As was reported in the newspaper article, NM insisted that Anni always told the exact same story, never once differing in her account. NM also offered that despite reports that Anni was a widow, she was, in fact, married, although her husband often left Anni alone for weeks at a time. Further, according to NM, Anni remained in the same village where the encounter took place until her death in 1930.
It is also worth our time to examine an account of an alien encounter that occurred in the small town of Lodi in California. According to reports, one evening during the summer of 1896, Colonel HG Shaw was traveling to Fresno by horse and carriage with a friend for an upcoming exhibition that they were to organize. However, out of nowhere, their horse would suddenly come to a complete stop. Not only would it refuse to move forward, but it was clearly in a severe state of fright and stress.
At this point, Shaw and his friend decided to investigate, and upon looking ahead of the horse, they could make out three tall figures standing a little way off in the middle of the road. The description Shaw gave of these creatures – large, hairless heads with large dark eyes and legs and arms that appeared too thin and out of proportion to their frames – is the same as many of the descriptions of grey aliens from throughout the Modern UFO era, and we should keep in mind, this report came six decades before the Roswell incident.
The two men watched the three figures for several moments and noticed how, every so often, they would place a bag with some kind of tube attached to their mouths, perhaps suggesting that it was some kind of breathing aid or apparatus. On the other hand, each figure carried some kind of glowing lamp. Furthermore, the two men could hear these mysterious creatures speaking to each other in a language they were unfamiliar with.
Several moments later, the three figures suddenly turned around and walked toward a nearby bridge. The two men watched them go, the light from their lamps revealing a hovering, metallic object close to the bridge. The three figures entered the hovering craft, which then began to ascend, eventually disappearing into the night sky. Although he wasn’t entirely sure what he and his friend had seen that night (although he stated in his report these figures could have been from Mars), he was certain they had witnessed something quite extraordinary.
There have been many other apparent encounters worth exploring. On the morning of August 5th, 1608, in Nice, France, for example, multiple residents of the city witnessed three glowing objects overhead. According to the reports, the objects revolved in the air as they moved in the direction of the city fortress. The three aerial vehicles continued across the fortress and headed out toward the Mediterranean Sea. They eventually came to a stop where the witnesses claimed to see them float on the water. Even more remarkable, as the witnesses watched the object, they could clearly see two humanoid figures emerge from one of them, a tube connected to their bodies from inside the craft. They each had a “large head” with “luminous eyes” and wore silver and red clothing. It appeared the entities were carrying out repairs of some kind before they reentered the craft. Following this, the three objects ascended high into the sky and then sped off into the distance.
A particularly intriguing account that could very well be a case of alien abduction in the seventeenth century can be found in the 1841 publication by Charles McKay, Memoirs of Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds. The case in question features Major Thomas Weir, a respected Scottish soldier and commander of the Edinburgh Town Guard who, in 1670, while gravely sick and bed-ridden, seemingly confessed to bizarre activities involving his sister, Jean Weir, to the Lord Provost, activities that appeared to be ground in the Occult. When his sister was confronted with her brother’s confession, she broke down, claiming they had been involved in a lifetime of strange and bizarre events.
Of most interest to us here, though, is an account offered by Jean that took place at some time in 1648, when a mysterious stranger arrived out of nowhere in a “fiery coach” and proceeded to take her brother away. During this journey, this mysterious stranger imparted “supernatural intelligence” to Thomas, including information about a battle taking place at Worcester, a battle, incidentally, that the Scots lost. We might consider that the “fiery coach” described by Jean was, in fact, some kind of aerial object – essentially, a UFO – and this mysterious journey he embarked on was actually an alien abduction. Furthermore, the “lifetime of strange and bizarre events” could very well be an indication of repeat alien abduction. We might also consider the fact of this “supernatural intelligence” passed to Thomas. In many cases of alien abduction, many abductees speak of being given information, sometimes about future events. Could that have been the case here? Whatever the truth, the confession of Thomas and Jean would have tragic and unfortunate consequences for the siblings.
To begin with, the apparent confession of Thomas Weir was not taken seriously, not least because of Weir’s noble standing, but also because it was suspected he was suffering from senility. However, following his sister’s statements, both were arrested and eventually tried for practicing witchcraft. Both were found guilty, although Thomas’s conviction was on the much lesser charges (for the times) of incest and beastiality. Both, however, were sentenced to death.
Another bizarre encounter unfolded in October 1847 in the Saratov region of Russia when local residents witnessed “four fiery columns of light” overhead. These columns remained in sight for almost two hours and sparkled between shades of white and blue. Then, without warning, the four columns simply disappeared. The strangeness, though, was far from over. As the next few hours, days, and weeks progressed, residents of Saratov began commenting on several “bizarre-looking strangers” seen walking around the area. In fact, several people even approached these strangers and attempted to talk to them, although it was clear they didn’t understand them, and nor could residents understand the strangers.
These strange figures were described as looking similar to “elderly men” with “yellow-greenish faces” and without a beard (something that almost all male residents of the area sported). Most of the locals determined that these strangers were likely “eccentric travelers” who were friendly enough with those who encountered them. These strangers would appear regularly, each day in a different part of the region, always disappearing before nightfall. The last recorded sighting of them was on the evening of October 6th, 1848, almost a year after the strange columns of light appeared over the region. On this night, at around 9 pm, a bright light suddenly appeared overhead lighting up the entire area. At the same time, a low thunder-like rumbling sound could also be heard. This went on for around an hour before a “blood red colored spot” appeared within the light, which then morphed into an “elongated form” before finally splitting into several columns of sparkling light. These columns remained until around 11 pm when they suddenly disappeared – as had the strangers, who were never seen again.
Might we assume that these “eccentric travelers” were connected to the strange columns of light witnessed that October evening, and that they might have traveled from much further away than most would imagine? Could it be that the columns of light transported them from the ground to an aerial craft overhead? Or might they even have been some kind of portals or gateways to another realm or part of the universe? The incident remains completely unexplained.
As we can see, then, it is clear that UFO sightings and encounters with alien entities, including apparent alien abductions, have been happening throughout human history. And the incidents we have explored here are just some of the many encounters on record from across the centuries. Indeed, to examine them all would likely take an entire volume. We can only imagine how many other sightings and encounters went undocumented and, as such, are now lost to history, buried under the sands of time. Or how many from antiquity were recorded in the records that were destroyed during such episodes as the burning of the library of Alexandria, and the wiping out of records of many of the North and South American native populations by European explorers. We might also consider how many cases have been documented but now reside in locked-away vaults in various destinations around the world. Perhaps the one certain thing is that our history is littered with these strange accounts, which should alert us to the fact that our collective reality and place in the universe are far different from what most might think.

Heinrich Frank Deep inside Brazil, there are tunnels large enough for a person to walk through. They are neatly symmetrical—too neat to have been caused by any known geologic process. And they are lined with claw marks.
These megatunnels are probably the handiwork of giant ground sloths—humongous "paleoburrows" that no longer walk the Earth. But tens of thousands of years after these megafauna did their digging, those tunnels still dot this part of South America. Discover has a great feature up about it.
Heinrich Franks
Claw marks
Up until the 2000s, little was known or written about this bounty of holes. But since he came upon his first one near Novo Hamburgo, Brazilian scientist Heinrich Frank has found more than 1,500 tunnels. Frank has found burrows that measure hundreds of feet long. Scientists have discovered one with branching tunnels that, when you measure the thing in its entirety, comes in at 2,000 feet long. It had to have been dug by many creatures over generations, not by one or two giant sloths.
The big open question is, Why? The tunnels appear to be much larger than any burrowing animal would need to get away from bad weather or hungry predators. As Frank tells Discover, "There's no explanation – not predators, not climate, not humidity. I really don't know."
Are mind-boggling epic drone battles headed our way?
Are mind-boggling epic drone battles headed our way?
The mystery of unidentified drones remains unresolved, with government authorities offering little clarity. Officials have downplayed the incidents, asserting there is no threat to national security and attributing many sightings to aircraft such as planes or helicopters. However, the lack of transparency has only fueled public speculation and heightened concerns.
What people/experts say:
Some speculate that these drones are part of covert operations designed to detect dirty bombs or nuclear devices or theses drones are part of an advanced surveillance systems operated by certain agencies.
The Space Force could be conducting classified exercises, such as testing cutting-edge technology or performing communication lockdown drills to evaluate detection and evasion capabilities.
A former CIA officer has suggested that the drones may be part of government efforts to trial advanced technologies in urban environments.
Reports indicate these drones exhibit unusual traits, such as lacking heat signatures and evading detection. They might employ RF jamming or encrypted communications, potentially causing unintentional disruptions to civilian electronics, including power outages, while avoiding capture.
Intelligence analysts have compared the drones to Russian Orlan-10 or Iranian Shahed-136 models, raising suspicions of international espionage.
But, the most striking statement came from Elon Musk, who warned earlier this year about the arrival of epic drone wars. He said that drone swarm battles are coming that will boggle the mind. What does he know that we don’t?

A study conducted by US Army Intelligence has suggested that reincarnation is real because consciousness 'never dies.'
Entitled 'Analysis and Assessment of The Gateway Process,' the 29-page report was drafted by US Army Lieutenant Colonel Wayne M McDonnell in 1983 and declassified by the CIA in 2003.
The research has resurfaced on social media, with Chicago-based comedian Sara Holcomb summarizing the findings, saying: 'We're pretty sure reincarnation is real.'
'Consciousness is energy and it exists outside of our understanding of reality,' Holocomb said, paraphrasing page 19 of McDonnell's Army intel report. 'And energy... never dies.'
The mind-bending official Pentagon study was commissioned to better understand what its Army intel colleagues were doing sending personnel to a small institute in Charlottesville, Virginia that was working on the 'Gateway Experience.'
The then-secretive 'Gateway' project, based to McDonnell's analysis, was 'a training system designed to bring enhanced strength, focus and coherence... to alter consciousness.'
From there, Gateway's ambitious goal was to shift the practitioner's consciousness 'outside the physical sphere so as to ultimately escape even the restrictions of time and space.'
At least according to McDonnell, the Monroe Institute's discoveries that wound up bolstering the case for reincarnation were profound.
'When consciousness returns to the Absolute [Monroe jargon for a realm outside spacetime] it brings with it all the memories it has accumulated through experience in reality,' as he distilled the Institute's finding that memories pass on from life to life via reincarnation.
An eye-popping study conducted by US Army Intelligence and made public by the CIA has shocked social media with its finding that consciousness transcends space and time. Entitled 'Analysis and Assessment of The Gateway Process,' the 29-page report was drafted in 1983
The recently resurfaced US Army Intelligence report presents an abstract explanation of how consciousness is created through the brain's processing of energy in the physical world - transforming it into what Lieutenant Colonel Wayne McDonnell compares to a hologram (above)
Or, as Holocomb put it more succinctly in one of many videos by TikTok users fascinated with the metaphysical US Army study: 'You're pretty sure reincarnation is a legit thing? Yup.'
The comedian, who posts as @mad_hatter_news on TikTok, also referenced a vast body of research by the nearby University of Virginia Medical School's Division of Perceptual Studies which has compiled a database of over 2,500 cases of professed reincarnation.
Many of the cases involved children under the age of five who claimed to remember 'memories of a previous life they claim to have lived.'
'Why the kids?' Holocomb continued in her post. 'It seems they're the ones that most easily remember their past lives.'
But the Gateway study explored more than simply heady spiritual questions of reincarnation, the nature of consciousness and the afterlife.
Ltc McDonnell's report as a member of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) was concerned with psychic spycraft along the astral plane. Psychic spycraft involves the use of alleged paranormal abilities for espionage.
In 1983, INSCOM was headed by Major General Albert Stubblebine III, one of the US military's greatest proponents of psychic warfare.
Joe McMoneagle — who served as Remote Viewer No1. in one of Major General Stubblebine's psychic spy programs — has said his own role was to use remote viewing to spy on Russian military bases and gather intelligence.
He spent more than 20 years as a so-called 'remote viewer' working at Fort Meade in Maryland, which is also home to the National Security Agency (NSA).
'My success rate was around 28 percent,' McMoneagle said. 'That may not sound very good, but we were brought in to deal with the hopeless cases.'
'Our information was then cross-checked with any other available intelligence to build up an overall picture. We proved to be quite useful "spies."'
Joe McMoneagle (pictured) was a Vietnam vet and American 'psychic spy.' His role was to use 'remote viewing' to spy on Russian bases and gather intelligence. He now serves on the Board of Advisors for the Monroe Institute - whose 'Gateway' process was studied in the 1983 report
In 1983, INSCOM was headed by Major General Albert Stubblebine III (portrait above), one of the US military's greatest proponents of psychic warfare
Today in retirement, McMoneagle serves as on the Board of Advisors and as a trainer for the Monroe Institute, the same institute whose 'Gateway' process was studied by US Army INSCOM in their 1983 report.
Ultimately Ltc McDonnell's 'Gateway Experience' report, was an effort to verify the institute's suitability as a defense contractor used in this Army INSCOM program to operationalize 'out of body' experiences for espionage.
In his summary, McDonnell concluded: 'There is a sound and rational basis in terms of physical science parameters for considering Gateway to be plausible in terms of its essential objectives.'
'Intuitional insights of not only personal but of a practical and professional nature would seem to be within the bounds of reasonable expectations,' he continued, in essence validating INSCOM's 'psychic spying' strategy.
But there was a catch, he noted: These experiences were hard to control or direct consistently, which Ltc McDonnell suggested would require long and careful training.
'[A] phased approach for entering the Gateway Experience in an accelerated mode would seem to be required [...] from the standpoint of establishing an organization-wide exploitation of Gateway's potential,' he wrote.
In other words, while the Army intel official found that Gateway was real and possible, more research was needed to get to a place where US intelligence could actually make use it.
Ltc McDonnell then laid out recommendations for how Army INSCOM could go about designing further Gateway studies, though its unclear if more studies were ever launched.
Mysteriously, one page of Ltc McDonnell's report is missing, number 25, in the middle of a section where he was outlining potential practical defense uses of Gateway.
The omission caught the attention of some readers who launched a Change.org petition calling for the CIA to release it.
The CIA, however, says that it never had the page to begin with — fueling theories that it has been left it out on purpose due to the powerful techniques that page 25 described.

Ghostly figure caught on security camera as distressed dogs react
Ghostly figure caught on security camera as distressed dogs react
A security camera recently captured an eerie scene that has left people intrigued and spooked. In the footage, recorded at dawn, a mysterious figure dressed in white appears near a large vehicle. What makes the video even stranger is the reaction of two nearby dogs, who seem unusually distressed and unsettled by the presence.
While the exact location in Mexico where this happened hasn’t been confirmed, many are already speculating about the figure’s identity. Some believe it could be La Llorona, the legendary weeping woman from Mexican folklore. La Llorona is said to wander in sorrow, mourning her lost children, and has been the focus of countless ghost stories over the years.
Others have suggested a different explanation, claiming the figure resembles a "nightcrawler," a strange cryptid reportedly known for its bizarre appearance.
Skeptics, however, argue that it might just be a person caught in an unusual moment, and the dogs’ reactions could be explained by their heightened senses picking up on something out of the ordinary. Still, the dogs' unsettling behavior has sparked debate about whether the encounter might have been something paranormal.
For now, the true nature of the figure remains a mystery.
Mysterious blue light spotted during avalanche on Mount Xiannairi, China
Mysterious blue light spotted during avalanche on Mount Xiannairi, China
A rare and intriguing phenomenon has been observed in China. On the night of October 27th, Chinese astrophotographer Shengyu Li set up his camera to capture star trails over Mount Xiannairi in Sichuan Province. To his surprise, he recorded mysterious blue flashes accompanying an avalanche.
The exact cause of these "blue lights" remains unclear, sparking various theories. Some speculate they could stem from geomagnetic activity, interactions of cosmic rays in the upper atmosphere, or rare atmospheric phenomena like blue jets or elves. However, Li offers another explanation: the flashes might result from triboluminescence—light produced by friction during ice fragmentation.
Triboluminescence occurs when certain materials emit light as they are fractured, scratched, or rubbed. This phenomenon happens due to the breaking of chemical bonds or the sudden separation of surfaces, which generates electrical charges. These charges can ionize the surrounding air or excite the material itself, creating visible light.
The hypothesis suggests that this event could be an example of triboluminescence. However, it also raises the intriguing possibility of a connection to UFO phenomena, such as orbs or other unexplained lights that have been observed around the world over the years.
Hypothesis: The sighting depicts what appears to be a blue light descending onto a snowbank, following the avalanche as it moves downward, and then vanishing before seemingly ascending again.
Did the avalanche trigger the blue light, or did the blue light crash into the snow, causing the avalanche?
Whether this phenomenon is a rare case of triboluminescence, potentially the first instance of it being captured on camera or something linked to unexplained UFO activity, the recording of this light remains a unique and fascinating occurrence.
As the Bible tells it, 2024 years ago a man named Jesus was born in a little-known town on the edge of the Roman Empire and was killed 33 years later.
But do we really have any reason to believe this is more than just a story?
Perhaps surprisingly, experts say we do have extremely compelling evidence to support the story recounted by the gospels.
From the plethora of contemporary sources to the graffiti mocking his followers, Jesus' life left an indelible mark on the historical record.
Likewise, archaeologists working in Palestine and Israel have uncovered a number of artefacts supporting the basic facts of Jesus' life as described in the Bible.
And, while there is no conclusive physical evidence, experts say this is exactly what we would expect for someone of Jesus' status in society.
Dr Lawrence Mykytiuk, a specialist in Hebrew studies from Purdue University, told MailOnline: 'We have many very good reasons to accept the real, historical existence of Jesus of Nazareth.'
Here's the seven most astonishing pieces of evidence that Jesus left behind.
Despite having lived a short life as an impoverished peasant over 2,000 years ago, experts say there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus was a real historical figure
1: Written evidence
The best reason we have to believe in the existence of the historical Jesus is that there surprisingly good written records about his life.
What makes this so compelling is that many of the accounts are written by non-Christian authors who were often openly opposed to Christianity.
Dr Mykytiuk says: 'For well over 1,000 years, no one claimed that Jesus did not exist.
'Every single non-Christian source from ancient times recognizes, implicitly or explicitly, that he was a real person who really existed.'
Possibly the best example of this comes from the Roman historian Tacitus who despised Christians.
In a section of the 'Annals' describing the AD 64 fire of Rome, Tacitus describes how Emperor Nero tried to shift the blame to early Christians.
Tacitus writes: 'Nero substituted as culprits and punished in the most unusual ways those hated for their shameful acts … whom the crowd called “Chrestians.”
Flavius Josephus (pictured) was a Jewish historian who wrote about 60 years after Jesus' death. In his history of the Jewish people he mentions 'the brother of Jesus-who-is-called-Messiah, James by name'
'The founder of this name, Christ, had been executed in the reign of Tiberius by the procurator Pontius Pilate.'
Likewise, the Jewish author Flavius Josephus mentions Jesus in his sprawling 'Jewish Antiquities' which was written just 60 years after Jesus' death.
In a section of the book, Josephus describes how a priest named Ananus tried to execute Jesus' brother, James.
He writes that Ananus 'called a meeting of judges and brought into it the brother of Jesus-who-is-called-Messiah, James by name.'
What makes this so interesting is that James, or Jacob as it would have been written, was such a common name that Josephus felt the need to specify by mentioning Jesus.
Dr Mykytiuk says: 'If Jesus, James’s brother, had not been a real person, this reference to Jesus-who-is-called-Messiah would have made no sense.'
2: The Alexamenos Graffito
Once we go beyond the written records, physical evidence of Jesus' existence becomes significantly harder to find.
This crude graffiti carved into a wall of the Palatine Hill in Rome is possibly the first depiction of Christians anywhere in the world
As researchers have noted, we don't have records for 99 per cent of the people who served in the Roman Empire.
This makes it astronomically unlikely that there would be any trace of a man who lived in poverty and met the fate of a common criminal.
However, there are some artefacts from the early days of the Church which do offer compelling evidence.
Surprisingly, one of the best real pieces of evidence we have for the existence of Jesus is a crude and rather abusive piece of ancient graffiti.
Known as the Alexamenos Graffitto, this was a crude drawing scratched into the wall of a room near the Palatine Hill in Rome somewhere between the first and third century AD.
The drawing depicts a man worshipping a donkey-headed man hanging from the cross with a message that translates to: 'Alexamenos worships [his] god.'
Dr Jonathan Reed, a leading authority on the archaeology of early Christianity from the University of La Verne, told MailOnline: 'The earliest evidence we have in the archaeological record for Christians is someone making fun of Jesus being crucified.'
The reason this is so convincing is that it passes what Dr Reed calls describes as 'the criterion of embarrassment'.
The Alexamenos Graffito shows a Christian worshipping a donkey-headed Jesus with the inscription 'Alexamenos worships [his] god'. Experts say this mocking depiction of Christ is good evidence that the embarrassing features of his death actually occurred and were well-known between the first and third centuries. Pictured, a tracing of Alexamenos Graffito
Dr Reed says: 'The crucifixion would have been seen as shameful and much of the Gospels are about trying to make the crucifixion into a heroic death.'
Similarly, the fact that Jesus is presented initially as a follower of John the Baptist was deeply troubling to the early church and something that a lot of effort was spent trying to explain.
The fact that embarrassing details survived and that Christians were so distressed by them is actually a good sign that they weren't made up.
Dr Reed says: 'From my perspective, what I would be most certain of is that Jesus started off as a follower of John the Baptist, that he was from the lower peasant classes, maybe he was an illegitimate child, and that he was crucified.'
3: The Crucified heel
Another detail of the crucifixion that some scholars have found hard to explain is: If Jesus died an enemy of the state, why was he permitted a full burial?
Although there is plenty of evidence that the crucifixion really happened, some critics argue that Jesus would more likely have been thrown in a mass grave for criminals.
However, in 1986 a construction crew accidentally uncovered several tombs in Northern Jerusalem.
The crucified heel of a man named Jehohanan was found in a tomb in Israel. This proves that Jesus could have received a proper burial as the Gospel claims rather than being thrown into a mass burial pit for criminals
One ossuary, a chest for holding skeletal remains, was marked with the name Jehohanan and contained the remains of a man who appeared to have been crucified.
The bones included a heel which still had the nail embedded in it from where the man had been pinned to the cross.
Not only does this further support that the description of Jesus' nailing to the cross is accurate, but it also shows that families could retrieve the remains of crucified criminals.
While not a direct piece of evidence for Jesus' life, this discovery vindicated the Gospel writer's account of his death.
4: The Shroud of Turin
Of course, there couldn't be a discussion of evidence for Jesus' life without some mention of the holy relics.
The most famous of all the objects supposedly associated with Jesus is the Shroud of Turin.
This is a piece of cloth bearing an imprint of a man which is considered by many to be the cloth Jesus was wrapped in after the crucifixion.
The Shroud of Turin features the image of a man with sunken eyes, which experts have analysed under different filters to study it (pictured)
Unfortunately, the evidence surrounding the reality of the shroud is highly contentious.
Some scholars are convinced that this is a legitimate relic of Jesus but there is a growing body of evidence mounting against that position.
Likewise, a study conducted by the Italian researcher Antonio Lombati found that the weave pattern used for the shroud doesn't match any examples of grave linens from Israel and Palestine dated to Jesus' time.
Rather, the pattern is extremely similar to cloth produced in the early Middle Ages during the Crusades – the period to which the shroud was dated during research in the 1980s.
Dr Reed says: 'I'm convinced that they [the holy relics] are all forgeries and that's partly to do with the fact that they all pop up at the same time after the Crusades when there was a thirst for this stuff in Europe.
'If you look at the Shroud of Turin, early on, even in the Church documents, there was some suspicion of it.
However, some researchers remain still convinced of the shroud's veracity.
A recent study concludes that the impression on the shroud could not have been made by a three-dimensional human body, but was perhaps from a bas-relief - a shallow carving (top)
Dr Ben Witherington III, a Bible scholar at the Asbury Theological Seminary, told MailOnline: 'The shroud itself has a negative image on it of a crucified man, which existed at least as early as the early Middle Ages, in an age long before photographs.
'How exactly did that image get on the cloth, and how does it represent so accurately where Jesus would have been flagellated on his back, or nailed in his wrists, or bleed from the head due to something- say a thorny crown?'
5: The Church of the Apostles
In 2017, archaeologists digging in the area of El Araj, Israel made a surprising discovery.
Buried next to the River Jordan the archaeologists found the remains of a Byzantine basilica measuring 27m by 15m (88ft by 52ft).
Researchers believe that this may be the site of Bethsaida, the village which was home to the apostles Peter, Andrew, and Phillip.
If that were the case, this would make the El Araj basilica the lost 'Church of the Apostles which was supposedly built over the village's ruins.
Following further investigations in 2021, Professor Steven Notely, an archaeologist from Nyack College and co-director of the dig, told the Biblical Archaeology Society: 'There are no other churches in the vicinity mentioned by Byzantine visitors to the Holy Land, and there is no reason to question that this is the [Church of the Apostles].'
This mosaic was found in a basilica believed to be the Church of the Apostles, built above the homes of Peter, Andrew, and Phillip. However, how much evidence this provides for the existence of the historical Jesus is debated
Even more interestingly, excavations found the remains of a Roman-era fishing village beneath the later church.
For some, this provides a compelling case that the Biblical account of Jesus' life is backed up by hard evidence.
Dr Reed says: 'I've excavated many of the places mentioned in the Bible and the Gospels describe them all with a certain level of accuracy.'
However, Dr Reed also points out that this doesn't necessarily tell us much about the figure of Jesus.
'If you really push me, I'd say it's not even proof that Jesus existed,' says Dr Reed.
Likewise, Dr Mykytiuk says that these findings show that the Bible is broadly correct about historical context.
He adds: 'This support is so indirect that it has almost no effect regarding Jesus’s existence - except perhaps to whet the appetite of researchers.'
6: The 'Jesus is God' inscription
This 1,800-year-old mosaic contains the ancient Greek phrase: 'The god-loving Akeptous has offered the table to God Jesus Christ as a memorial.' This is the first recorded mention of the divinity of Christ
Just like the Alexamenos Graffito, evidence from the early church gives us a strong indication that there really was a person for the followers to unite around.
Another slightly more flattering example of this is an inscription found beneath the floor of an Israeli prison.
The 581-square-foot mosaic decorated the world's first prayer hall in 230 AD and contains the ancient Greek phrase: 'The god-loving Akeptous has offered the table to God Jesus Christ as a memorial.'
Carlos Campo, CEO of the Museum of the Bible which recently exhibited the mosaic, hailed it as 'the greatest discovery since the Dead Sea Scrolls'.
This shows that the divinity of Christ became part of some Christians' ideologies as little as 200 years after his death.
However, leading Biblical historian Bart Ehrman claims that this was not a view shared by all of the earliest Christians.
Dr Reed says: 'As early as the first century there was a competition to talk about who Jesus really was and what is the significance of the Christ figure.
Experts say that the existence of conflicting views of Jesus and the widespread discussion of his divinity in places like the Megiddo Mosaic (pictured) suggests that there was a real figure that the early church was reacting to
'Because you have these disagreements, I just don't buy the theory that there was a conspiracy to fabricate this person.
'If there was a conspiracy, it was the most disorganised, chaotic, contradictory attempt imaginable.'
7: The James ossuary
The so-called 'James Ossuary' is a bone box bearing the Aramaic inscription: 'James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus.'
Dr Witherington says: 'The likelihood of that particular combination of those three names not referring to the famous James the Just, and his father Joseph, and his brother Jesus are slim to none.
'If it were true that the crucifixion was the end of Jesus' story, no one would be bragging about being related to him on an ossuary.'
If the James Ossuary is real, it would indeed be a striking piece of evidence that Jesus was a real figure who became important shortly after his death.
Unfortunately, the story of the James Ossuary is a little more complicated.
The so-called James Ossuary is a box believed to contain the remains of James, the brother of Jesus. However, the box's veracity has been a matter of fierce debate and even legal action
The ossuary was allegedly acquired by an Israeli businessman named Oded Golan from an unknown antique dealer in the 1970s.
However, in an unusual move, the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) accused Mr Golan of faking the relic and took him to court in the 'the forgery trial of the century'.
Experts from the IAA alleged that Mr Golan had taken a real first-century ossuary and added the inscription himself.
When police took Mr Golan into custody they did indeed find a forgery lab filled with tools and half-finished 'antiquities'.
But, in another twist, Mr Golan was then acquitted of all charges of forgery in 2012 on the grounds that the IAA had not proven the inscription was fake.
During the trial, it emerged that some of the IAA's experts didn't have the proper specialisms to properly appraise whether or not the writing was real.
For many, this vindicated the James Ossuary as a brilliant piece of evidence for the historicity of Jesus.
However, as is so often the case, not all academics agree that the James Ossuary has also been exonerated.
The original owner of the James Ossuary was charged with forgery. Although he was later acquitted some experts still question the suspicious circumstances in which the artefact came to light. Pictured at the Royal Ontario Museum, Canada, 2002
Dr Reed says that just because Mr Golan was acquitted doesn't mean the ossuary is real.
'I'm a big believer in archaeology finding things in situ, if it pops up on the black market we can't be sure where it was found and we be sure whether it has been doctored,' Dr Reed says.
'We have pretty good evidence that part of the inscription was doctored and it was found in a person's home who had forging equipment.
'I think there's so much fishiness that we can't include it in the historical record.'

Nicole Kerr shares the story of her near-death experiences, explaining how she survived three life-threatening incidents. She talks about an accident that occurred in 1983 when she was 19 and a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy.
Nicole was in one of the first military recruitments of women and she joined because of the pressure her family put on her, not because she wanted to. She suffered enduring that process desperately trying not to quit even though every part of her knew quitting was what she wanted. Later she learned that the car accident that caused her first NDE was somehow orchestrated on the other side to allow Nicole to leave the Air Force and find her true purpose in life.
One evening, she got a ride from a senior cadet who had been drinking and had other plans in mind. They stopped to drink beer and smoke, which was a big change for Nicole, who had grown up in a strict, conservative household with strict rules from her father. She felt pressured to please her father, and this influenced her decisions. After drinking and smoking, the senior cadet became angry when she refused his advances and, while driving at high speed, lost control of the car. They crashed, and Nicole was ejected from the vehicle.
Nicole Kerr
She was pronounced dead at the scene, but after about 10-13 minutes of being clinically dead, the EMTs arrived. They couldn’t find any vital signs, but one EMT noticed a slight reaction in her eye. This indicated she was still alive, and they were able to save her. She describes this as a life-changing experience.
“I will tell you now if you’ve heard of that saying our eyes are the window to our soul my soul had flown out when I crashed through the windshield and went up into the air and I froze in that position and I knew when I looked down that I was going to die I just knew it and I called out to God to police help me and what happened was an angel came and took me up to the other side.”
After the car crash, she describes how she felt her soul leave her body and how she “knew” she was going to die. She called out to God for help, and she believes an angel took her to the other side.
Nicole explains that her story is verified by medical records and interviews with the healthcare professionals involved, especially John, the EMT who helped save her. She describes her severe injuries, including blood loss, broken bones, and a severed foot. Despite being clinically dead, her soul returned to her body when her right eye flinched. Her blood pressure was dangerously low, but she was still alive.
Nicole was transferred to a hospital, where doctors performed CPR for 20 minutes. Once at the hospital, she underwent surgery and spent months recovering. During this time, her condition fluctuated, and she had to undergo another emergency surgery due to a serious injury in her lower body.
During the surgery, she went into cardiac arrest and was declared dead on the operating table. The surgical staff informed her parents, who were praying in the chapel. Her father cried for the first time, and her mother didn’t believe it. But just moments later, the surgical nurse ran back to tell them that Nicole’s heart had started beating again, and she was going to be moved to the recovery room.
The Other Side
She explains that, after the crash, she tried to return to the “other side” but was told by her angel, named James, that she had an important mission to fulfill. Nicole believes that everyone has a purpose, and hers was given to her by spirit.
Years after her recovery, at the age of 38, while working at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, she was going about her usual routine when she suddenly remembered the details of the crash. For 19 years, all she could remember from the accident was a bright white light, a common experience in near-death experiences (NDEs), as described by Dr. Raymond Moody.
Nicole then shares how, in that moment, memories of the crash and her time on the “other side” began to surface. She vividly recalls the sensation of being surrounded by a brilliant white light, which gave her a feeling of peace, bliss, and safety instead of pain. She felt as if she was being held in a cocoon of light.
On the “other side,” Nicole describes being enveloped by God’s presence, feeling pure, unconditional love. There, she experienced a sense of oneness with God, and she realized that her earthly mistakes no longer mattered. She felt as if her past life was just one of many, and that her mistakes were insignificant. She describes the experience as feeling like an astronaut floating in space, filled with awe and wonder.
Nicole explains how she didn’t feel the pain of the crash because, according to her near-death experience (NDE), her soul left her body before impact. She describes how, after her soul left, she saw an angel, who appeared as a translucent figure with male qualities. For 39 years, she couldn’t identify this figure, but after publishing her book You Are Deathless, she began to smell cigar smoke and heard a voice revealing that it was her paternal grandfather, James, who had been her angel during her time at the Air Force Academy.
Nicole shares that her grandfather had been watching over her, especially during her struggles at the Academy, and helped her survive her ordeals. He explained that he had been with her in spirit, protecting her, and that he would continue to guide her throughout her life. She believes he was the one who pulled her back during her third NDE when she was suffocating due to fluid in her lungs. This experience reinforced her belief that we can encounter deceased loved ones in the afterlife.
Nicole said when in “soul form,” she could see everything around her in 360 degrees, unlike the limited vision humans have. Communication was not through words, but through telepathy, vibrations, and music, which allowed her to understand conversations.
She overheard two angels speaking, and they urged her to tell people on Earth to ask for help. They emphasized that they are always there to help, but humans need to ask for assistance, no matter how small the request. Nicole shares that she often asks her angels for small things, like finding a parking spot, and every time, she receives help. She encourages others to connect with their guardian angels, explaining that everyone has at least one, and that angels and spiritual guides want to assist us, but they can only do so if we ask, as we have free will.
Nicole encourages developing a relationship with your soul, something she didn’t understand at 19 but has since learned. She suggests journaling and asking your soul what it wants you to know, even if you don’t get answers right away.
She also reminds us that we are never alone. She explains that we are always surrounded by spiritual beings, including angels and deceased loved ones, who are there to guide us.
Nicole stresses that there is no judgment on the other side, which may be surprising to some, as many believe in judgment in the afterlife. Instead, she says that we are perfect and loved more than we can understand. She adds that when we pass, we’ll be reunited with loved ones and pets who showed us unconditional love.
Finally, she explains the concept of a life review after death, where we see how our actions, words, and thoughts impacted others and the world. This is not a judgment but an opportunity to learn. She urges people to be mindful of their choices, as awareness is the first step toward becoming more loving and true to their essence. She believes that we are all born perfect, but the conditioning we experience during life leads us to forget this truth.

Four tunnel-dwelling cryptids following the same electromagnetic pattern
Cryptids are mysterious creatures often tied to folklore, mythology, and urban legends. While their existence remains scientifically unverified, the lack of concrete evidence does not necessarily rule out the possibility that they might be real.
Take the Nightcrawler, for instance. According to Native American folklore, these eerie, thin, upright creatures with no arms have been part of legend for centuries. In 2011, several CCTV recordings captured footage of similar beings, walking silently through the night.

Another example involves a strange, unidentified creature seen climbing the edge of a cliff near Iceland’s Dettifoss waterfall. Such sightings fuel the belief that cryptids may exist.

Now, new evidence points to something even more unsettling. Beneath New Jersey's Pine Barrens lies a vast network of caves emitting electrical energy—a phenomenon impossible to explain in sedimentary rock. Scientists discovered similar formations in West Virginia, Oklahoma, and the Congo Basin. Intriguingly, each site is associated with its own legendary cryptid:

Even more bizarre, these underground grids align perfectly, forming a growing mathematical pattern. The tunnels seem to converge toward a central point, as though following an ancient design.
Government researchers uncovered one last, chilling detail: the electrical patterns aren’t random. They form precise, repeating sequences—far too organized to occur naturally.
Could these tunnels be evidence of a cryptid connection? Or is something even more mysterious lurking beneath the surface?
Mystery in Arkansas: Alien Lights, Bigfoot, and Underground Bases Revealed!
Mystery in Arkansas: Alien Lights, Bigfoot, and Underground Bases Revealed!
The Ozark region of Arkansas is no stranger to peculiar tales, but the events surrounding the Broad Camp Crystal Mine take the concept of strangeness to a new level. From glowing orbs to claims of underground alien bases, the mine has become a hotspot for paranormal enthusiasts. The story doesn’t end there—it intertwines with near-death experiences, Bigfoot sightings, and unexplainable phenomena, painting a surreal tapestry of mystery and intrigue. Let’s dive deeper into the unfolding enigma.
The Mysterious Broad Camp Crystal Mine
Located in the heart of Arkansas, the Broad Camp Crystal Mine was initially purchased by Cheryl and Orville Murphy with the intention of developing a campground and music venue. However, plans shifted when they discovered that their property was rich in quartz crystals. Along with the crystals, the couple began experiencing unexplained phenomena that led them to reimagine their venture as a crystal tourism destination.
Their experiences began in 2017 when beams of light inexplicably appeared on the hilltop. These lights defied conventional physics, emitting no shadows and displaying unusual magnetism, which left fence posts and other metallic objects magnetized.
Levitating Rocks and Magnetic Mysteries
Adding to the intrigue, levitating rocks have been reported at the mine. These aren’t mere optical illusions; videos have captured objects inexplicably moving or hovering. The phenomenon has led some to speculate about an energy source beneath the ground, potentially linked to the region’s quartz-rich geology.
Researchers and witnesses have also noted the absence of shadows around these mysterious beams of light. Additionally, metallic objects in the vicinity have shown evidence of magnetization, further fueling theories about advanced, unearthly technology or natural geological forces at play.
A Link to the Paranormal
The events at the Broad Camp Crystal Mine are not isolated. Witnesses have reported glowing orbs and strange occurrences, phenomena often associated with other paranormal hotspots. Josh White, the son of the Murphys, described seeing orbs appearing and disappearing among the trees—a common feature in areas linked to high strangeness.
Furthermore, the phenomenon extends beyond Arkansas. In Bailey, Colorado, another site tied to paranormal activity features a “portal tree” linked to alleged interdimensional gateways. Researchers suggest that these sites may be connected through a vast underground network of energy points, adding another layer of mystery to the puzzle.
The Role of Bigfoot
Bigfoot has also made its presence felt in the Arkansas saga. Visitors to the mine have reported sightings of Sasquatch-like creatures. One notable account described a creature peering into a truck before disappearing up a hill with ease. Others have claimed encounters with entities resembling Bigfoot that exhibit red eyes and appear to guide or interact with humans.
The connection between Bigfoot and orbs has been noted in other paranormal research, suggesting a possible link between these enigmatic beings and the unexplained energy phenomena observed at the mine.
Underground Bases and Alien Connections
A recurring theory among investigators and witnesses is the presence of an underground base beneath the Broad Camp Crystal Mine. Some, like Navajo medicine man Garrett Fowler, claim the site houses an ancient “star base” powered by crystal technology. According to Fowler, this base utilizes the energy of the quartz crystals to support advanced systems, including anti-gravitational technology.
Orville Murphy himself described an otherworldly experience when he encountered a mysterious beam of light. He claimed the light transported him through a tunnel-like structure filled with vibrant colors and dropped him off at a different location. Both he and a companion reported disorientation and described being “tagged” by human-like beings during the event.
The Worldwide Meditation Event
One of the most recent and dramatic incidents occurred during a worldwide meditation event in 2023. Participants, including Orville, lit bonfires as part of the collective ritual. During the event, a massive column of light appeared, captured on trail cameras. Witnesses described the light as otherworldly, emitting an intense glow that failed to illuminate its surroundings—a stark contrast to normal light sources.
Science, Speculation, and Skepticism
While the stories are undeniably compelling, skeptics question the validity of the claims. Some suggest the lights and magnetism could be natural phenomena, such as piezoelectric effects from the quartz crystals. Others remain unconvinced, pointing to the possibility of hoaxes or elaborate marketing tactics.
However, the recurring themes of portals, underground bases, and interdimensional beings are consistent with accounts from other global hotspots of high strangeness. The consistency of these reports adds weight to the idea that something extraordinary may indeed be happening in Arkansas.
The Broad Camp Crystal Mine stands as a beacon of mystery, drawing those intrigued by the paranormal and the unexplained. Whether the events are the result of geological anomalies, advanced extraterrestrial activity, or interdimensional phenomena, the mine continues to captivate and mystify.
For now, the Broad Camp Crystal Mine remains a place of questions rather than answers. Its beams of light, magnetized objects, and alleged underground base challenge our understanding of reality and invite further exploration into the unknown.

Listen to the 'scariest sound in the world': Ancient Aztec Death Whistle that sounds like the 'scream of 1,000 corpses' STILL terrifies people to this day, study reveals
Listen to the 'scariest sound in the world': Ancient Aztec Death Whistle that sounds like the 'scream of 1,000 corpses' STILL terrifies people to this day, study reveals
The wail of the Aztec Death Whistle was the last thing many human sacrifices ever heard before they met their untimely end.
The chilling noise is described as the 'scariest sound in the world', and is somewhere between a spooky gust of whistling wind and 'the scream of a thousand corpses'.
Now, a study has found that this instrument is just as terrifying for people today as it was 500 years ago.
Scientists from the University of Zurich played the sound of the Aztec Death Whistle to a group of volunteers and recorded how their brains responded.
Participants who heard it reported feeling frightened, while the brain scans showed that the sound puts the listener on high alert, activating neural regions associated with core emotions like rage, fear, and grief.
Researchers believe the whistles could have been used to frighten victims and onlookers during human sacrifice rituals.
Lead author Professor Sascha Frühholz told MailOnline: 'The sound is rough and high-pitched, and as listeners, you usually do not like such sounds.'
So, are you brave enough to listen to it?
Aztec Death Whistles are clay instruments typically shaped like skulls which have been found in grave sites of ritual sacrifice victims dated from 1250 to 1521 AD
Aztec Death Whistles, or Skull Whistles, are a type of unusual musical instrument found in grave sites dating from 1250 to 1521 AD.
Their unusual skull-like shape baffled archaeologists for years until one plucky researcher decided to blow into the opening at the top of one artefact.
When played with force, the resulting sound was a cacophonous, piercing wail reminiscent of human screams.
Archaeologists aren't yet sure what these unusual instruments were used for but some suggest they could have either been used to terrify the enemy during battle or as part of human sacrifice rituals.
To learn more, the researchers decided to test how modern listeners who weren't familiar with the Aztec Death Whistle would respond to the sound.
Professor Frühholz said: 'Since the Aztec skull whistle sounds close to a human scream, we wanted to investigate if humans have the same negative and aversive response to Aztec death whistle sounds.'
A group of European participants were played recordings of genuine Aztec Death Whistles, replicas, and whistles of the researcher's own creation alongside a set of other recorded sounds.
The participants were then asked to describe what they heard and how it made them feel while their brain activation was recorded by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
Why is the Aztec Death Whistle so scary?
The Aztec Death Whistle produces a rough and piercing sound with a high-pitched frequency.
Researchers say these sounds are typically registered as 'alarm signals' which cause a strong reaction in our brains.
Since we have evolved to respond quickly to alarms the whistle triggers a strong desire to make the sound stop.
The sound also appears to temporarily confuse the brain, leaving the hearer momentarily reeling in shock.
This combines to create a strong sense of fear which might have been used during human sacrifice rituals.
Almost universally, the sound produced a strong negative emotional response as well as a sense of urgency and arousal.
In terms of the effect on the listener, the Death Whistle was found to be most similar to firearms, sirens, angry voices, and shouts of pain or fear.
The researchers suggest that the Aztec Death Whistle might have been built to mimic some natural sounds like screams and reproduce the effect that this has on the listener.
Previous studies have shown that the death whistle works by producing multiple tones at once as air collides within its different chambers.
By analysing the acoustic profile of different whistles, the researchers found that the resulting 'noisy and rough' sound profile contains effects usually found in primate screams and 'terrifying music'.
The fear factor is made more intense by including tones typically found in human speech and shouts.
However, the researchers also noticed another interesting detail in the listeners' responses.
In addition to reporting how the sound made them feel, each participant was also asked to come up with a description for the sound.
Participants who heard the Aztez Death Whistle (labelled in red as SW) reported experiencing high levels of negative emotions (valence), strong emotional arousal, and an intense feeling of urgency
A human scream was the most common comparison.
However, participants also referred to a number of artificial sounds like kettles, chainsaws, trains, or machines.
In their paper, published in Communications Psychology, the researchers suggest that this unusual mix of natural and unnatural could be part of why the Aztec Death Whistle is so scary.
Professor Frühholz says: 'With fMRI we found that the sounds have both an affective [emotional] nature and they have a more abstract and symbolic nature, which triggers associative mechanisms in the brain.'
When a listener heard the Death Whistle, this set off a flurry of activity in the brain's auditory processing regions as it tried to determine the origins of the sound.
This sudden activation tended to confuse the brain, leaving it momentarily stunned and confused.
The Aztecs may have exploited this shocking impact as a way of creating fear in an audience.
However, archaeologists are still unsure whether that audience was intended to be an approaching enemy army or a congregation of worshipers in a human sacrifice cult.
Researchers have found that the terrifying sound of the Aztec Death Whistle (pictured) is just as terrifying to modern listeners as it would have been to the Aztecs more than 500 years ago
Since the sound is so scary it could be the the case that the Death Whistle was used in warfare but Professor Frühholz and his co-authors believe that the ritual explanation is more likely.
Aztec Death Whistles have been found in the hands of victims of ritual sacrifice in temples such as the Ehecatl-Quetzalcoatl temple in Mexico City.
Likewise, the skull imagery synonymous with the Aztec Death Whistle could portray Mictlantecuhtli, the Aztec Lord of the Underworld.
In their paper, Professor Frühholz and his co-authors write: 'Given both the aversive/scary and associative/symbolic sound nature as well as currently known excavation locations at ritual burial sites with human sacrifices, usage in ritual contexts seems very likely, especially in sacrificial rites and ceremonies related to the dead.
'Skull whistles might have been used to scare the human sacrifice or the ceremonial audience, but further cross-documentation is needed here.'
The Mexica, later known as the Aztecs, were a migrant people from the desert north who arrived in Mesoamerica in the 1300s.
This previously nomadic tribe was not welcomed by the local inhabitants who viewed them as inferior and undeveloped.
Legend says that, as a result the Aztecs, wandered waiting for a sign to indicate where they should settle.
In 1325 AD this sign, an eagle and serpent fighting on a cactus, was seen at Lake Texcoco - prompting the Aztecs to found their capital city, Tenochtitlan.
By 1430 AD the Aztecs had assimilated aspects of the surrounding tribes and developed into a structured society.
Their military became powerful and campaigns were fought and won.
The Triple Alliance was created with the lords of Texcoco - situated on the eastern shores of Lake Texococo - and Tlacopan - sometimes referred to as Tacuba, situated on the western shores of Lake Texococo - further strengthening Aztec power.
The Aztecs went to war for two main reasons; to exact tribute and to capture prisoners.
They needed prisoners because they believed that the gods must be appeased with human blood and hearts to ensure the sun rose each day.
Conquering new regions brought the opportunity to capture slaves who were an important part of Aztec society.
Prosperity and unity within the Aztec peoples brought confidence. Under a succession of rulers armies were sent further across Mexico.
By the start of the 1500s the Aztec empire stretched from the Atlantic to the Pacific and into Guatemala and Nicaragua.

Aztec Death Whistle Day of the Dead scariest ancient instrument discovered
The Bible details how Jesus brought a man back from the dead using the sound of his voice, but ancient artwork may show that Christ used a little bit of magic.
A fourth-century painting of the story discovered in Rome shows Jesus holding what some archaeologists claimed is a magician's wand.
Other paintings dating around the same time also depicts Christ holding a wand-like object while performing famous miracles like multiplying loaves of bread and healing the sick.
Ancient paintings of Jesus holding what appears to be a wand has led some researchers to believe early Christians thought of him as a magician. This image was painted in the fourth century, although the exact date is unknown, and was found at the Via Anapo catacomb in Rome
However, some researchers have suggested that these masterpieces actually depict Jesus holding a staff, which was likely portrayed as a way to connect him to the prophet Moses who was more well known at the time.
Regardless, historians believe early Christians saw their Lord and Savior as a magician.
According to the Bible, Jesus performed miracles through the power of God and his ability to heal people and bring them back from the dead while also producing food and drink elevated him above Roman gods in the eyes of Christians.
The fantastical feats may have caused some people to turn to the superstitious belief that Jesus was a magician to explain his actions.
'I mean, here's this group that gets together in the morning and drinks wine and says it's blood and eats bread and says it's flesh,' Lee Jefferson, the chair of the religion program at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky told Live Science in 2020.
'You can probably understand why people thought it was superstitious.'
The belief that Jesus was a magician may have translated into paintings dating back to the early third century that depict Christ holding a wand, experts explained.
One of the earliest records of wands being used was in the 9th Century BC when people who practiced the ancient religion Zoroastrianism used wand-like objects made from small rods or sticks during sacred rituals.
One of the most referenced artworks was a fourth-century AD painting found in the Via Anapo catacomb in Rome, showing Jesus multiplying seven loaves of bread.
In one painting, Jesus holds a wand over the cadaver of Lazarus before he performs the miracle of raising him from the dead. This image was painted in the fourth century, although the exact date is unknown, and was found at the Catacomb of Via Latina in Rome
A carving is displayed on the door of the Santa Sabina Church in Rome showing Jesus using a wand to raise Lazarus from the dead and turning water into wine. The carving was created on a wooden door in 432 AD which is displayed in the Santa Sabina Church in Rome
In the painting which was discovered in 1578, he appears to be waving a wand over the bread, pointing it down toward the objects.
Another fourth-century painting was found in the Via Latina catacomb showing Jesus holding a thin wand in front of a shrine that contained the cadaver of Lazarus.
This is one of the most popular scenes depicted in early Christian funerary art, according to Biblical Archaeology.
In John 11:4, the story says that Lazarus became sick and died, but when his sister Mary called on Jesus to come heal his friend, he told his disciples: 'This sickness is not to end in death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it.'
Jesus chose not to heal Lazarus but to let him die so he could later raise him from the grave and the miracle would force his disciples to believe he was the son of God.
A similar carving was also displayed on a wooden door on the Santa Sabina Church in Rome that depicts 18 scenes from the Old and New Testament.
The door was created in 432 AD, showing Jesus using a long object to perform miracles, including raising Lazarus from the dead and turning water into wine.
Despite the images, evidence suggests that most of Jesus' followers didn't perceive his actions as magic, but rather as miracles performed through God.
'You would not want your demigod to be called a magician because it makes them seem less powerful,' Jefferson told Live Science.
Christian figures, like the third-century scholar Origen, who was the head of a Christian university in Alexandria, defended Jesus against the philosopher Celsus' who was a vocal critic of Christianity and spread accusations that he was a magician.
Origen 'spilled a lot of ink talking about how Jesus' wondrous deeds weren't magic because they were aimed at things like moral reformation and salvation instead of the sorts of parlor trickery displayed by marketplace sorcerers,' Dr Shaily Patel, a professor of early Christianity at Virginia Tech told the Daily Beast.
It is likely, however, that the artwork doesn't portray a wand at all but is a staff recognizant of other notable figures, according to experts.
Moses was one such person portrayed for using a staff to part the Red Sea and later used it to provide drinking water to Israelites during their escape from Egypt.
At the time, people would have been familiar with Moses but wouldn't necessarily have known who Jesus was, experts have explained.
To combat this, paintings may have been created of him performing miracles with a type of staff to connect him to the prophet.
'He's kind of like a new Moses,' Jefferson told Live Science.
A staff was recognized as a symbol of power, similar to how a scroll would have been associated with someone wise or well-read.
'They see that person holding the object and they can understand,' Felicity Harley-McGowan, an art historian at Yale Divinity School told the outlet.
'The staff is a sign of [Jesus'] authority.'

The earliest inscription declaring Jesus as God - deemed 'the greatest discovery since the Dead Sea Scrolls' - was uncovered beneath the floor of an Israeli prison and is now on display in America.
The 1,800-year-old mosaic, discovered by an inmate of the Megiddo prison, features the ancient Greek writing: 'The god-loving Akeptous has offered the table to God Jesus Christ as a memorial.'
The 581-square-foot mosaic decorated the world's first prayer hall in 230 AD, confirming Christians believed Jesus was the son of God from the very beginning.
The Megiddo Mosaic also included some of the earliest images of fish, which experts believe reference the story in Luke 9:16 when Jesus multiplied two fish to feed a crowd of 5,000 people.
The floor has been hidden under the prison since it was discovered in 2005, but has now been lent to a museum in Washington, DC, until July 2025.
Carlos Campo, CEO of the museum, hailed the mosaic as ' the greatest discovery since the Dead Sea Scrolls,' while his colleagues noted it was 'the most important archaeological discovery for understanding the early Christian church.'
'We truly are among the first people to ever see this, to experience what almost 2,000 years ago was put together by a man named Brutius, the incredible craftsman who laid the flooring here,' Campo said at the opening of the exhibition.
The Megiddo Mosaic (pictured) was unearthed during the expansion of a high-security prison in Israel. The mosaic had an inscription at the top (pictured) that said: 'The god-loving Akeptous has offered the table to God Jesus Christ as a memorial'
The Megiddo Mosaic is currently on display at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC (pictured until July 2025
Alegre Savariego, curator of the exhibition, said: 'The mosaic presents groundbreaking physical evidence of the practices and beliefs of early Christians, including the first archaeological instance of the phrase, 'God Jesus Christ.''
The Megiddo Mosaic was found in the Jezreel Valley where Christians believe the final battle of the Biblical Armageddon in the Book of Revelations will occur.
The excavation, conducted by archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), took four years to recover the 581-square-foot mosaic floor.
The mosaic included the name of the Roman officer who commissioned the tile during the Roman occupation of Judea.
Researchers suggested that could prove Romans coexisted with Christians to some degree, despite the numerous stories of war and slaughter at the time.
An inscription on the mosaic read: 'Gaianus, a Roman officer, having sought honor, from his own money, has made the mosaic.'
The team also found a nearby Roman camp, providing more support of the peace between the two groups.
The prayer hall, or church, was likely abandoned and covered up because the Roman Empire's Sixth Legion was transferred to Transjordan - a region located to the east of the Jordan River.
The mosaic also contained the names of five women, highlighting the important role women played in the church.
Aside from Akeptous, who was mentioned for her donation of a table to the prayer hall, the mosaic's inscription also says to 'remember Primilla and Cyriaca and Dorothea, and lastly, Chreste.'
Bobby Duke, director of the Scholars Initiative at the Museum of the Bible, said: 'This is arguably one of the most important archaeological discoveries for understanding the early Christian church.'
The mosaic was discovered while expanding a maximum-security prison located near the ancient city of Megiddo in the Jezreel Valley in 2005
The mosaic featured some of the earliest images of fish being used to represent Christianity, mirroring the story told in Luke 9:16 when Jesus multiplied two fish to feed a crowd of 5,000 people
'For example, the mosaic underscores the crucial role of women in the early church by the fact that five women are mentioned in it by name,' he continued.
'Truly, the mosaic presents a wealth of new data for church historians, like the Dead Sea Scrolls did for Bible scholars.'
The IAA said there isn't any information that explains why these women were mentioned, but it is highly unusual because God wasn't typically asked to remember individuals.
'While they were clearly important to the community, the inscription does not tell us whether they were patrons of the community (like Akeptous), or martyrs, or honored for some other reason,' the Museum of the Bible said.
After the major archaeological find, the conservation department of the IAA cleaned and stabilized the mosaic, grouted and re-laid any loose tesserae and filled in the empty spaces with mortar and reburied the mosaic while they carried out their research.
IAA had to separate the floor, placing pieces in 11 crates that were shipped to the US earlier this year for the exhibit titled: 'The Megiddo Mosaic: Foundations of Faith.'
'You couldn't just lift the whole floor up,' Duke said.
'So ... they very intricately cut different pieces of the mosaic so that they didn't destroy any of the artwork. So, not all the pieces were the same size.
'So, even one of the crates that came into this gallery was about a thousand pounds.'
The Megiddo mosaic will return to Israel after the exhibit concludes and put on a permanent display at the exact site where it was discovered.
The Megiddo inmates will be relocated to another prison upon the mosaic's return.
The mosaic contained Greek inscriptions that include the names of five women, highlighting the importance of women in the church
In the year leading up to the mosaic's move to the Museum of the Bible, the IAA received criticism for allowing the a major piece of Christian history to be displayed at the museum.
Since it's doors opened in 2017, the museum has been forced to return thousands of artifacts including an ancient Mesopotamian tablet and thousands of clay scrolls that were looted from Iraq.
It was also forced to admit that several of the Dead Sea Scroll fragments displayed in its collection were modern forgeries.
'While some of the founders and actions of the museum are questionable, and the museum clearly has a very ideological agenda, I don't think a 'purist' agenda is very helpful here,' Prof. Aren Maeir, an archaeologist at Bar-Ilan University told Haaretz.com.
'As long as everything is done by the letter of the law, I see no problem.'

Divine Prophecy: Do the Dead Sea Scrolls Prove Jesus is God?
Who are the Nephilim and what do they represent? Are they biblical giants? What does the term literally translate to, and why does the brief mention of them in the Book of Genesis show resemblance to other mythologies? The Nephilim have been a topic of great controversy. Many scholars, both independent and accredited, have dedicated much of their lives to answer these questions. It wasn’t until the discovery and translation of the Book of 1Enoch that we were finally given a better understanding of these Nephilim, but is it a proper understanding?
This detailed analysis will incorporate the theology during the proposed time of writing for the verses, grammatical study in Hebrew and Aramaic word forms, and even external influences that would have played a role in the region.
In the past century, many independent scholars have taken the opportunity to exploit the Nephilim to their advantage. Zecharia Sitchin was one of those individuals, who proposed that the Nephilim were nothing more than a god-like race with the knowledge and technology to navigate the heavens, who came to earth and created mankind as slave labor mining rare materials. Sitchin had jumped on the chance to translate the Nephilim as: (1) those who came down from above, (2) those who were cast down, and (3) people of the fiery rockets. These made-up epithets are clearly ridiculous and groundless. The Hebrew verb for ‘to go’ or ‘to come down, descend’ is yarad which shows no relation to the term in question. He then goes on to identify the Nephilim with the Sumerian deities, claiming that the Sumerians knew of their existence and that they came from a planet called Nibiru. According to Sitchin, Nibiru completed its rotation around our sun every 3600 or so earth years. The sources cited came from his mistranslated Mesopotamian inscriptions and cylinder seal impressions. Many others have tried to follow in Zecharia Sitchin’s footsteps, such as Alan Alford, but have quickly repealed their theories, claiming it was too outlandish of an idea. It was in his second book, The Phoenix Solution, that Alan Alford retracted his ancient astronaut theories. Apparently, this made such a powerful impact that Zecharia Sitchin threatened Alan Alford with a 50 million dollar lawsuit on the grounds that Alford’s comments discredited Sitchin’s theories and destroyed his reputation.
Figure 1 - Stela depicting image of Baal Haddad in a smiting position.
Then there was Andrew Collins, using the sons of God and the Nephilim to hint at a forgotten race. This race allegedly knew and shared all the forbidden arts and sciences with humanity, thus leading them to their corruption and the Flood of Noah. Much of what Collins proposes, it seems, may be based on earlier works, such as that belonging to Sitchin. For example, Collins uses translations similar to Sitchin’s for the noun Nephilim.
In his book, From the Ashes of Angels, Collin’s clearly displays his lack of knowledge in biblical Hebrew; confusing the Nephilim with the sons of God, when it was the sons of God who supposedly had fallen (unto the daughters of men) and not the Nephilim. It would seem that most of these authors attempt to link the root word for the plural Nephilim with the Hebrew singular word of naphal. naphal means ‘to fall’ or ‘to fall in battle, by the sword’, ‘to be killed’, ‘to be fallen’ and also ‘to fall unto/ upon.’ All of these definitions display characteristics not held by the Nephilim or, as I will point out later in this article, the sons of God.
We first read of the Nephilim in Genesis 6:4. This is one of two verses to mention the Nephilim three times throughout the entire Pentateuch. Genesis 6:4 reads:
The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.
The biggest clues to the identification of the Nephilim will come from Numbers 13:33:
And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Taking an interpretation of the Nephilim as the ‘people of the fiery rockets’ again holds no credibility when examining the term itself and the surrounding grammar of Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33. The word was left untranslated by the Revisers, the name of one of the Canaanite tribes. The Revisors have, in fact, translated the Hebrew gibborim, in Genesis 6:4, as ‘mighty men,’ which will be a key point in the coming conclusions. When the Old Testament was first translated to the Greek language, the word for Nephilim read gigantes, the Greek word for giants. This is confirmed in Numbers 13:33 with the description of the Israelites when compared to the race of giants.
It is extremely important for the reader to understand that in Hebrew grammar, the singular naphal cannot form the plural Nephilim. If we were to follow grammatical rules within the language, we would end up with the plural nophelim. Clearly this is not the same as Nephilim, and we can now see that it is impossible for naphal to be the root word used. A detailed analysis of the characteristics held by the Nephilim will further prove this in the section below. One other area of concern is that nophelim is not in the plural passive (perfect) form, but instead a plural active (imperfect), indicating that these beings are ‘falling’ and have not ‘fallen’. Now what have the Nephilim fallen from? The answer is nothing. If a link were to be established for someone(s) falling from God’s grace it would have to go to the sons of God as is apparent in the post-Exilic and not in the pre-Exilic literature. The biggest clue to the identification of the word’s root can be found in Numbers 13:33. The word Nephilim is used twice in this verse, but oddly enough, is spelled differently. Many have wondered what this could mean. In the first occurrence we find:

Tucker Carlson believes that the U.S. government has entered into some agreement with entities thought to be aliens, who are not extraterrestrial but have always been present on Earth and maybe spiritual.
On Timcast IRL podcast, Carlson discusses the idea that there are non-human forces influencing human behavior, suggesting that these forces might exist in a spiritual realm. He mentions that many people refer to these beings as “dimensional beings” but expresses uncertainty about labeling them as angels or demons.
Carlson reflects on how people are influenced by good and evil forces beyond themselves, and he asserts that everyone, if introspective, can recognize these external influences. He also touches on the idea that creativity, particularly in art, might be driven by forces outside the individual, which artists often describe as “channeling.” Carlson implies that both positive and destructive acts are likely the result of these external spiritual forces acting upon people.
“So there are forces. That are not human, that do exist in a spiritual realm of some kind that we cannot see and that when you think about it, sort of make you think we live in an ant farm.”
Recently, Tucker Carlson said he was “physically mauled” by a demon a year and a half ago, in an assault that he says left him bleeding and with scars from “claw marks”.
“That’s what happened to me. I had a direct experience with it,” said Carlson. Asked if he was referring to journalism, Carlson responded: “No, in my bed at night. I got attacked while I was asleep with my wife and four dogs and mauled, physically mauled.”
Carlson, who said he still bears the scars, said his assailant was a “demon”. He added: “Or by something unseen that left claw marks on my sides.” He said at the time of the attack, he was asleep in bed. I was “totally confused, I woke up, and I couldn’t breathe, and I thought I was going to suffocate”, he said.
“I walked around outside and then I walked in and my wife and dogs had not woken up. And they’re very light sleepers. And then I had these terrible pains on my rib cage and on my shoulder, and I was just in my boxer shorts and I went and flipped on the light in the bathroom, and I had four claw marks on either side underneath my arms and on my left shoulder. And they’re bleeding.”
He added that he explained the encounter to an assistant, an evangelical Christian, who told him: “That happens, people are attacked in their bed by demons.” Carlson, who lives in the woods of Maine, did not say where the attack occurred, but called it a “transformative experience” that left him “seized with this very intense desire to read the Bible”.
In his 1969 book “Passport to Magonia: On UFOS, Folklore and Parallel Worlds,” Astronomer and UFO researcher Jacques Vallée argues for a “parallel universe co-existing with our own.” The idea was reiterated in Vallée’s subsequent writings. He summarized his objection in his 1990 paper “Five Arguments Against the Extraterrestrial Origin of Unidentified Flying Objects”:
Unexplained close encounters are far more numerous than required for any physical survey of the earth;
The humanoid body structure of the alleged “aliens” is not likely to have originated on another planet and is not biologically adapted to space travel;
The reported behavior in thousands of abduction reports contradicts the hypothesis of genetic or scientific experimentation on humans by an advanced race;
The extension of the phenomenon throughout recorded human history demonstrates that UFOs are not a contemporary phenomenon;
The apparent ability of UFOs to manipulate space and time suggests radically different and richer alternatives.
They are Jinn
In an interview with Whitley Strieber, former CIA officer Jim Semivan says he refers to the UFO, UAP, and Alien Phenomena as Jinn. He does not mean that in a religious way – credibility to the inter-dimensional hypothesis. (Source)
“This phenomenon does lie to you and it is very very deceitful at times. It will tell you things that sound wonderful but also make no sense and is it toying with us or is it using some kind of you know symbols that we don’t understand?“
I refer to them as a ‘Jinn’ because you know in Arab culture they’re sort of like us or they’re made out of quote-unquote fire or ether or whatever. But they also have the same kind of emotions but there’s good Jinn and there’s bad Jinn.”
Dr. Karla Turner claimed There Are Entities who can take our consciousness – out of our physical bodies, disable our control of our bodies, install one of their own entities, and use our bodies as vehicles for their own activities before returning our consciousness to our bodies. She died of Cancer within a year after her work was published.
Karla Turner was one of the few America’s alien abductees who found a respectable position in UFOlogy after she had made some strong claims about alien abductions.
Her extensive research into the subject revealed that aliens manipulate perception, control consciousness, cause unexplained illnesses and mental decline, and engage in gruesome activities in underground facilities.
Her findings highlight the alarming physical, psychological, and spiritual consequences faced by abductees, raising questions about the true nature and intentions of these extraterrestrial encounters.
In her book “Taken,” Karla Turner discussed the idea that some prominent abduction theorists state should be avoided — do not think of aliens as good and evil.
Dr. Turner claimed that “this cannot be done, nor should it be.” She continued that those who had been abducted have the right to know how their “participation” would be used by their abductors, under what circumstances and what reason would the abducted be “made a part of this agenda” since they have been “implanted, trained, and programmed to participate in some future scenario.” Don’t abductees have the right to know for what purpose “our minds, bodies, and souls will be used?”
Dr. Turner’s main concerns regarding alien abductions were the aliens’ cruelty towards abductees, both physically and mentally. Victims experienced traumatic events such as forced impregnation, painful miscarriages, and severe injuries.
She believed that the aliens had complete control over the minds of humans, using psychic technology to manipulate their perceptions and memories.
Ex-US Navy Officer Saw ‘Non-human Entities’ In His Bedroom
Matthew Roberts, a former cryptologist in the US Navy with 16 years of service, shared his experience and encounters with non-human entity during a Netflix series “Encounters.” He was present on the USS Theodore Roosevelt in 2015 during an event involving the now-famous “Gimbal footage.” (Click here to read the full article)
During his AMA on Reddit, Roberts described the non-human entities: “I saw ones that had blue skin and were tall. I saw very tall white ones that resembled Jack Skellington. I saw one that looked like a yard gnome. I saw some that appeared to radiate white light. I don’t know where they were from they never revealed that.”
Matthew Roberts explains that he never tried to film any of the encounters with non-human entities in his bedroom. When asked if he considered setting up a recording device, he mentions that these encounters often happen when individuals are in an altered state or when the entities appear in the sky with a craft, conveniently when the person does not have his cell phone.
He considered recording the experiences but decided against it. He reasons that it would not convince everyone, as some might think he faked it. Roberts believes the argument over the authenticity of any images would overshadow the main point, which is encouraging people to seek and have their own experiences with consciousness. He emphasizes that he does not need people to believe him; instead, he wants others to explore consciousness firsthand.
Roberts asserts that the truth of these experiences has been documented for thousands of years by various individuals, citing such authors as William Walker Atkinson, Mabel Collins, Joseph Campbell, Dr. John Mack, and Dr. Robert Moore. He challenges the notion that he could have orchestrated the biggest hoax in human history, suggesting that there may be something genuinely significant in these experiences.
He points to the wealth of evidence available for those willing to examine it, citing a podcast by Mark Gober called “Where is My Mind,” where accomplished scientists discuss their work on consciousness. Roberts believes that understanding consciousness surviving death is a crucial aspect of our existence, mentioning the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies (BICS) and the substantial prizes offered for evidence of consciousness after death.
He suggested that these entities seem to have a significant level of control over the experiences people have, which contributes to why some individuals perceive these encounters as malevolent or evil. He acknowledged that many people who invest time and money into gathering evidence of these phenomena often end up without conclusive results.

Stunning footage of two mysterious humps prowling through the shallows of Loch Ness 'could not be anything but the monster'.
That's the verdict of Nessie hunter Eoin O'Faodhagain, who was watching the loch via webcam when he spotted something strange in the water.
Measuring an estimated 25ft in length – bigger than four average men laid end to end – the 'whopper of a beast' is too big to be any of the loch's normal residents.
Eoin said: 'Two sections of this creature can be visibly seen rising out of the water as it moves at a steady pace – a large front hump, and a larger second hump behind.
'Both humps are black to dark grey in colour, but visually striking in the environment.
'I was ecstatic and captivated by this large, fast-moving, unidentified animal out in the deep water of the loch.
'My only instinct was that this could not be anything other than the Loch Ness Monster.'
Mr O'Faodhagain, from County Donegal, Ireland, said the sighting was 'one for the record books'.
Stunning footage of two mysterious humps prowling through the shallows of Loch Ness 'could not be anything but the monster'
Eoin O'Faodhagain was watching the loch via webcam when he spotted something strange in the water
He continued: 'The creature is no less than 25 feet long.
'It rises about three feet out of the water.
'There are no known creatures in Loch Ness that have dimensions like this one.
'The largest of the known creatures are seals, which can reach up to eight feet long, but this whopper of a beast outreaches any seal.'
The footage, taken on October 25, was captured using a webcam at the Clansman Hotel maintained by Visit Inverness Loch Ness (VILN).
It's a spot about four miles from the loch's northern shore.
Eoin, a veteran Nessie hunter, also spotted something in the water there in July – but he says this latest sighting is in a league of its own.
The 60-year-old said: 'As far as Nessie sightings go, you could not get any better unless the creature came out of the water and posed outside the Clansman.

'If this was 1933 and you captured this sighting on black and white camera film, it would be a classic sighting by now.'
The news comes shortly after skipper Shaun Slogg and maritime pilot Liam McKenzie, 29, stumbled upon a strange shape while doing their usual rounds at Cruise Loch Ness.
On September 22, 2024, while preparing for another vessel's arrival, Sloggie's sonar flashed up.
The sonar indicated that a large object was lurking at a depth of around 98-metres.
He described it as 'the biggest thing I've ever seen.'
With its elongated shape and distinct features hinting at air pockets, the team couldn't help but wonder if the sonar reading was tied to the infamous Loch Ness Monster.
'The strangeness of it was chilling – it's the sort of thing that leaves you speechless,' Slogg said.
Rumours of a strange creature living in the waters of Loch Ness have abounded over the decades, yet scant evidence has been found to back up these claims.
One of the first sightings, believed to have fuelled modern Nessie fever, came in May 2, 1933.
On this date the Inverness Courier carried a story about a local couple who claim to have seen 'an enormous animal rolling and plunging on the surface'.
Another famous claimed sighting is a photograph taken in 1934 by Colonel Robert Kenneth Wilson.
It was later exposed as a hoax by one of the participants, Chris Spurling, who, on his deathbed, revealed that the pictures were staged.
Other sightings James Gray's picture from 2001 when he and friend Peter Levings were out fishing on the Loch, while namesake Hugh Gray's blurred photo of what appears to be a large sea creature was published in the Daily Express in 1933.
Robert Kenneth Wilson, a London physician, captured arguably the most famous image of the Loch Ness Monster. The surgeon’s photograph was published in the Daily Mail on April 21, 1934 - however it was later proven to be a fake
The first reported sighting of the monster is said to have been made in AD565 by the Irish missionary St Columba when he came across a giant beast in the River Ness.
But no one has ever come up with a satisfactory explanation for the sightings - although in 2019, 'Nessie expert' Steve Feltham, who has spent 24 years watching the Loch, said he thought it was actually a giant Wels Catfish, native to waters near the Baltic and Caspian seas in Europe.
An online register lists more than 1,000 total Nessie sightings, created by Mr Campbell, the man behind the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club and is available at www.lochnesssightings.com.
So what could explain these mysterious sightings?
Many Nessie witnesses have mentioned large, crocodile-like scutes sitting atop the spine of the creature, leading some to believe an escaped amphibian may be to blame.
Native fish sturgeons can also weigh several hundred pounds and have ridged backs, which make them look almost reptilian.
Some believe Nessie is a long-necked plesiosaur - like an elasmosaur - that survived somehow when all the other dinosaurs were wiped out.
Others say the sightings are down to Scottish pines dying and flopping into the loch, before quickly becoming water-logged and sinking.
While submerged, botanical chemicals start trapping tiny bubbles of air.
Eventually, enough of these are gathered to propel the log upward as deep pressures begin altering its shape, giving the appearance of an animal coming up for air.
