1950-The Trent Photographs
Paul Trent Photo
1950-The Trent Photographs
“A classic set of impressive UFO photos was taken by Mr. and Mrs. Trent in the early part of the evening, just before sunset, on May 11, 1950, near McMinnville, Oregon. According to the Trent's account the object, as it appeared over their farm was first seen by Ms. Trent while she was feeding the farm's rabbits.
She then quickly called her husband who got the family's camera and Mr. Trent then took two shots from positions only just a few feet apart. The pictures first appeared in a local newspaper and afterwards in Life magazine. Seventeen years later the photos were subjected to a detailed analysis for the University of Colorado UFO Project.
William K. Hartmann, an astronomer from the University of Arizona, performed a meticulous photometric and photogrammetric investigation of the original negatives, and set up a scaling system to determine the approximate distance of the UFO.
Hartmann used objects in the near foreground, such as a house, tree, metal water tank, and telephone pole, whose images could be compared with that of the UFO. There were also hills, trees, and buildings in the far distance whose contrast and details had been obscured by atmospheric haze.
Hartmann used these known distances of various objects in the photo to calculate an approximate atmospheric attenuation factor. He then measured the relative brightnesses of various objects in the photos, and demonstrated that their distances could generally be calculated with an accuracy of about +/- 30%. In the most extreme case, he would be in error by a factor of four. He then wrote:
"It is concluded that by careful consideration of the parameters involved in the case of recognizable objects in the photographs, distances can be measured within a factor-four error ... If such good measure could be made for the UFO, we could distinguish between a distant extraordinary object and a hypothetical small, close model."
Hartmann then noted that his photometric measurements indicated that the UFO was intrinsically brighter than the metallic tank and the white painted surface of the house, consistent with the Trent's description that it was a shiny object. Further, the shadowed surface of the UFO was much brighter than the shadowed region of the water tank, which was best explained by a distant object being illuminated by scattered light from the environment.
"it appears significant that the simplest most direct interpretation of the photographs confirms precisely what the witnesses said they saw"
Hartmann further wrote that "to the extent that the photometric analysis is reliable, (and the measurements appear to be consistent), the photographs indicate an object with a bright shiny surface at considerable distance and on the order of tens of meters in diameter. While it would be exaggerating to say that we have positively ruled out a fabrication, it appears significant that the simplest most direct interpretation of the photographs confirms precisely what the witnesses said they saw."
In his conclusion, Hartmann reiterated this, stressing that all the factors he had investigated, both photographic and testimonial, were consistent with the claim that "an extraordinary flying object, silvery, metallic, disc-shaped, tens of metres in diameter, and evidently artificial, flew within sight of [the] two witnesses."
Controversy - The Skeptics' Case
Not satisfied with Hartmann's findings and totally devoid of any evidence that the UFO was a hoax and hanging from the wires, UFO debunker Robert Sheaffer argued qualitatively that the haze in the photos (the haze veiled the UFO and led Hartmann to conclude the UFO was about 1.3 kilometres distant) could be due to a "dirty" camera lens, and thus the object could still be close to the camera.
He further argued that shadows on the garage were strong evidence for a large time lag between the photos, and alleged that the shadow positions suggested the photos were taken at 7:30 in the morning rather than in the evening (the image on the left depicts the edge enhancement technique which, under typical conditions, can reveal the presence of a wire less than a quarter of a millimetre thick at a distance of up to 3 metres).
Dr. Bruce Maccabee, an optical physicist, analyzed the original negatives and found no support for Sheaffer's time lag claim. He also repeated Hartmann's calculations in much greater detail, including corrections for lens grease and obtained about the same results as Hartmann originally did. (One other important aspect of Sheaffer's dirty lens hypothesis is that it fails to explain why it didn't affect all objects in the photos, and not just the UFO.
All the nearby objects in the photo were all sharp with high contrast, but the objects in the distance such as a barn, a house, trees, and hills (and the UFO), were of low contrast, exactly as would be expected from absorption and scattering of light.)
Maccabee calculated the UFO to be over 1 kilometre away, and about 30 meters in diameter and 4 meters thick.
Regarding the alleged reported time the photos were taken which, according to Sheaffer, would be inconsistent with the position of the shadows on the photos, Maccabee discovered that the garage shadows could only have been caused by a diffuse light source, rebutting Sheaffer's argument.
Maccabee suggested that a bright cloud illuminated by the evening sun could possibly have caused them. Moreover, neither Sheaffer nor Klass has provided a plausible cause as to why the Trents would have lied about this, especially since it is immaterial to analysis of the UFO's distance.
Repeaters
In his book "UFOs Explained," Klass argued that the Trents were "repeaters," citing a story published in the Portland Oregonian June 10 in which Mrs. trent is quoted as saying to reporter Lou Gillette that "she had seen similar objects on the coast three different times but no one would believe me."
Klass further quotes from a newspaper article written about 17 years later, in which she is quoted as saying "We've seen quite a few since then but we didn't get any pictures, they disappeared too fast."
Klass indictment of "repeater" is based solely on Mrs. Trent's claims as reported in the paper. Assuming the account is accurate, an important detail however, is that Mr. Trent apparently did notagree with his wife. For reasons we can only guess, Klass did not include in his book Mr. Trent's response to the following question (story in the June 11, 1950 L.A. Examiner):
"why [did you wait] so long before telling anyone about [the photos]. Trent admitted he was 'kinda scared of it.' He said: 'You know, you hear so much about those things... I didn't believe all that talk about flying saucers before, but now have an idea the Army knows what they are."
This suggests that Mr. Trent had not seen any UFOs before and was skeptical about flying saucers (hence his wife's claim that "no one would believe me")... until he saw one himself.
One get's into a logical muddle here. If, as Klass believes, there are no saucers and therefore the Trents couldn't have seen one, then Mrs. Trent must have been lying when she said she saw several previously. On the other hand, Mr. Trent was telling the truth about his skepticism, although he could well have supported his wife's claim by saying that he too had seen several even if he really didn't believe they existed.
After all, if its a hoax, he could say anything to support the hoax story. One way to get out of this muddle is to assume that they both told the truth regarding previous sightings (Mrs. Trent had several, Mr. Trent had none and didn't believe in saucers).
Of course, Mrs. Trent previous sightings certainly could have been honest misidentifications... and if this were so then she wasn't really "a repeater" unless you classify a person who repeatedly and honestly misidentifies objects as "a repeater" [Maccabee op. cit., private communication].
There is a long list of astronauts who claimed to have seen strange anomalies while being in outer space and strongly supported UFO phenomena. After returning from Moon, former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell experienced an epiphany that changed his thoughts about the origin of life on Earth and accused the government of hiding the truth.
n February 1971, after the successful completion of the mission, the Apollo 14 crew returned to Earth. Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell became the fifth and sixth astronauts to walk on the moon’s surface. While Shepard chose to live in the glory, Mitchell became the main troublemaker for many years.
He publicly accepted the existence of aliens after being on the Moon and stuck to it until his death. He accused the US government of hiding the truth about contact with aliens. Immediately after his return, Mitchell left NASA and immersed himself in studying UFOs, ancient history, and human consciousness.

Later, he explained that during his time in space, he experienced an incomparable mystical experience, and tried to find the answer to the question of what it was in the ancient texts. Eventually, he managed to find a term in Sanskrit to describe his experience, samadhi. Hindus consider it a special state of enlightened and clear consciousness, and Buddhists consider it the last step on the path to nirvana.
“The experience in space was so powerful that when I got back to Earth I started digging into various literatures to try to understand what had happened. I found nothing in science literature but eventually discovered it in the Sanskrit of ancient India. The descriptions of samadhi, Savikalpa samadhi, were exactly what I felt: it is described as seeing things in their separateness, but experiencing them viscerally as a unity, as oneness, accompanied by ecstasy,” Mitchell said. [Source]
Mitchell described it as a feeling of complete dissolution in the infinite universe, accompanied by ecstasy, as well as a clear understanding of the absolute unity of man and the cosmos, which seemed to him an incredibly ancient and intelligent self-regulating system.
In general, Mitchell returned from the Moon as a completely different person. He moved to California, where he co-founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences. This non-profit organization was engaged in research, which was skeptical of mainstream science. The institute conducted experiments with yoga, meditation, extrasensory perception, telepathy, telekinesis, etc.
There were rumors about the institute in the 70s and 80s that it was part of the secret Stargate Project that was funded by US military intelligence to study various parapsychological phenomena. Allegedly, Mitchell, taking advantage of the fact that the doors of the highest offices were open to him, almost personally lobbied for the inclusion of his organization in the project. However, in any case, the Stargate was closed due to the lack of any results that were of even potential interest to the army.
But Mitchell’s greatest fame was brought by his scandalous statements about the existence of aliens. He was perhaps the most famous figure who publicly shared such views, so journalists were very willing to interview him, and ufologists and supporters of various conspiracy theories around the world literally idolized the former astronaut and invariably referred to his interviews in their books.
Edgar Mitchell during an Apollo 14 training session in 1970
For example, he claimed that the 1947 Roswell crash incident was a true story. But on the official note, it was the weather balloon crash and video footage of the autopsy of humanoids, allegedly secretly made by army operators, was determined to be fake.
However, Mitchell grew up in the small town of Artesia, a few miles from the very Roswell airbase where the crash allegedly occurred. The astronaut claimed that many of his neighbors, acquaintances, and friends worked at this base, and what he heard from them is enough for him to consider the Roswell incident a real UFO crash. Mitchell did not disclose the names of his informants, referring to the fact that they all signed a non-disclosure agreement and he did not want them to have problems.
Mitchell claimed that he used all his connections to find out anything about the UFO phenomenon that had occupied him since the early 70s, and eventually, he found people at the highest rank who shared information with him.
According to Mitchell, he once had a confidential conversation with a Navy admiral, who secretly told him that in fact, the aliens had established contact with the government back in the early 1940s. They were interested in earthly weapons, primarily the atomic bomb. At the very beginning of the Cold War between the USSR and the USA, aliens often came to Earth because they feared nuclear war and tried to influence the world elites in some way.
In another interview, Mitchell claimed that his words were distorted by journalists. The admiral did tell him that the government had been aware of the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence since the early 1940s and was covering up authenticated UFO sightings. However, he never spoke of any interference in political affairs. He did not give the names of his high-ranking informant from the Navy, so as not to substitute him.
According to Mitchell, there is a well-organized group in the highest US government circles whose goal is to stop any leaks about the UFO phenomenon. At the same time, he himself categorically denied that he had ever seen extraterrestrial beings.
From time to time, fake interviews of Mitchell appeared on various sites devoted to conspiracy theories, in which he allegedly said that he had personally observed flying saucers and almost dined with humanoids. In official interviews, Mitchell vehemently denied these rumors, claiming that he had never seen any humanoids or UFOs, but was sure of their existence.
In 2016, Wikileaks revealed thousands of emails that were allegedly linked to Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta. The emails unfolded secret information shared with Podesta about UFOs and ETs.
In 2015, Podesta received emails from Mitchell that expressed his concern about the weaponization of space and its impact on the ETI (extraterrestrial intelligence). Despite the fact that aliens might be violent as shown in the various sci-fi, the notable astronaut called them nonviolent in his email.
In January 2015, he sent an email to Podesta, asking him to have an urgent meeting to discuss Disclosure and Zero Point Energy (ZPE). He was concerned about the peace in space.
Terri with Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell, ScD, 2011 inductee honoree in the Leonardo da Vinci Society for the Study of Thinking
Mitchell wrote: “My Catholic colleague Terri Mansfield will be there too, to bring us up to date on the Vatican’s awareness of ETI. Another colleague is working on a new Space Treaty, citing involvement with Russia and China. However, with Russia’s extreme interference in Ukraine, I believe we must pursue another route for peace in space and ZPE on Earth.”
Mitchell emailed Podesta again on September 18, 2015. He wrote: “Because the War in Space race is heating up, I felt you should be aware of several factors as you and I schedule our Skype talk. Remember, our nonviolent ETI from the contiguous universe are helping us bring zero point energy to Earth. They will not tolerate any forms of military violence on Earth or in space.”
It was confirmed by one of Mitchell’s collaborators that the meeting between Podesta and him never took place. He died in February 2016 at the age of 85, just a few days short of the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 14 return to Earth, the mission that changed his life forever.

The Banned Disney UFO Documentary: Alien Encounters From New Tomorrowland
“Alien Encounters From New Tomorrowland” BANNED DISNEY UFO DOCUMENTARY In March of 1995, without warning, Disney aired a family special. the documentary was so controversial that it was pulled from the airwaves and banned from ever being shown again. Robert Urich, the legendary Jim Street in S.W.A.T. (1975), is the host of this voyage around the UFO’s and its mystery.
From New Tomorrowland, in Disneyland, Urich talks about UFO, contacts, evidence of it arrives, abductions, military documents, and other things that surround this controversial thematic. From the 30′s years ahead, the UFOs always have been there very close to us, every day, every time. Exist the aliens?,in truth, they come to planet Earth? Could it be a fiction created by the military?
And the last and most important question: if they exist, would they will be our friends…or our enemies? Written by Chockys
Keyhole: Unlocking the Secret Geometry of the UFO Enigma
Keyhole: Unlocking the Secret Geometry of the UFO Enigma
In my latest book Ancient Alien Ancestors, I present several discoveries one of which I want to go over briefly. I say ‘discovery’, implying, more or less, that I went through a process of research and tracked it down.
It kind of happened that way but not quite. I had been studying the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt for a long time, but the Byzantine nature of the puzzle started causing me an overload. The enigmas of that edifice are many, entangled and impossibly complex. Stopping short of a mental meltdown, I let it go for a while.
One morning I woke up with the compelling thought to experimentally shift the prime meridian from Greenwich 0 to Giza, 31 E longitude. That made Giza the new 0 longitude (actually, Giza/Nile River delta). I did not plot out this scenario; the idea came to me first thing when I woke up.
Next, I got a map and looked at Mississippi River delta, 89 W longitude. Then I added 31 to that and came up with 120 degrees! That is a very significant number in geometry, especially when we are talking about the Earth and the Great Pyramid.
The Greenwich prime had obscured that fact, and nobody was pointing out this exact relationship between the Nile and Mississippi deltas. They both sit on 30 N latitude, precisely 120 degrees apart.
Now consider that the Nile flows from south to north; the Mississippi from north to south. I realised they were inverted mirror images of each other. Something was going on with this. I also realised it was a very big anomaly. So is the 30 N latitude which is seldom mentioned.
I then found that the Tigris-Euphrates was exactly 15 degrees east of Giza; the Yangtze delta 90 E degrees also and both on the 30 N parallel. The question that popped into my head: what is behind these rivers flowing into deltas, all along a single northern latitude around the globe?
I know of no geological dynamics that logically explains this and I have never heard a geologist try. Erosion, deposition, floods – they are all random processes. Then there was the fact that the earliest civilisations emerged in these river valleys on 30 N latitude. Another anomaly.
When a whole bunch of facts added together turns up an enigma, people either dig for the answer or chalk it up to ‘coincidence’. A quaint shallow concept that explains nothing unless one has a simple mind. It reveals a bias toward thinking the universe is based on random variables… dumb! You can check the foregoing in my book.
Prime Meridian experimentally shifted from Greenwich 0 to Giza.
Anomalies as Clues to the Bigger Picture
What is an anomaly? Basically anything that does not fit the model, or expectations, “something that deviates from what is standard, normal,” says the dictionary.
I realised, after many decades studying anomalies, that they are the Achilles heel of modern science and academia. When these ‘experts’ are confronted with a serious anomaly (i.e. the Great Pyramid), they abandon the scientific method, circle the wagons, and become babbling morons. The nonsense spouted on how this massive, precision-engineered edifice was built is quite shocking. We are given to believe it was built by people using hammer-stones, wooden sledges and ropes.
They present a scenario that is so improbable that it short-circuits even normally rational minds. People using Stone Age technology could not build such a sophisticated edifice. Our scholars are either stupid or just plain liars. Never mind, the Egyptians somehow did it, case closed. Minds shut, anomaly disposed of, everybody goes home. Problem is, the anomaly and the response to it are like a computer virus. It grows, spreads and starts causing fragmentation and loss of system integrity.
Already a substantial number of people around the world utterly reject the orthodox theories. Get enough of these anomalies piling up and credibility and trust become real issues. We are approaching that watershed critical mass point now.
UFOs exist, but then again they don’t, because they shouldn’t according to the laws of physics. Anomalies. Nothing in our rule-based 3D material dimension can appear and disappear in an instant.
In addition, it is impossible to see events in the future because it has not yet happened in linear time, right? Wrong.
Paranormal, psi, psychic phenomena occur and have been scientifically observed in controlled settings. Scientist Russell Targ noted his experiences while carrying out research into such phenomena in the following quote.
“Stanford Research Institute (SRI) conducted investigations into the human mind’s capacity for expanded awareness, also called remote viewing, in which people are able to envision distant places and future events and activities. For two decades SRI’s research was supported by the CIA and other government agencies. I was co-founder of this once secret program which began in 1972.” (See ‘The Scientific and Spiritual Implications of Psychic Abilities’, www.bibliotecapleyades.net/ciencia/ciencia_psycho10.htm.)
Since these phenomena do exist but shouldn’t by the rules that supposedly govern the dimension we live in, they are anomalies. As such, official science shows them the backdoor and politely asks them to leave and not return. Yet, the fact they exist puts us in a paradoxical position.
We seem to be living in a Universe that is, in reality, much more complex and inexplicable. Nonetheless, these anomalies must be explained and accounted for.
Quantum Nature of Reality
Now our view of normal starts getting twisted out of shape. As shown above, scientific investigations have proven that paranormal phenomena are real (that was one study, there are more.) However, we have to keep in mind that these things are weird only in the context of the rules defined by physicists. They have a model of the cosmos and our place in it. That model is predicated on there being an external universe that exists independent of our observations. In that model objects exist in three-dimensional space.
In fact, that description is not the newest upgrade. There is the quantum-view, the 2.0 version, now held by many scientists. The foregoing was actually the mechanical model from Newton that existed until Einstein blew it up.
In his relativity model, the space/time continuum is an interdependent whole. We cannot have space without time and objects need both to exist and move about. It is a package deal. Quantum mechanics came along and changed everything. There is no external universe made of solid objects existing in space independent of our observations.
What actually exists is an unexplainable paradox. Our observations change the underlying conditions of the universe. We are in an entangled presence. No pure objectivity is possible because our very observation changes the field.
Objects are vibrating fields comprised of waves of energy. Well, that is unless they are particles comprised of quantum units. We have a situation where the smallest foundational components of the observable universe are called wavicles.
Moreover, experiments demonstrate that quanta of light that are sent off in opposite directions maintain their connection to one another. Each photon is affected by what happens to its twin, even millions of kilometres away, if one gets bumped the other feels it.
Physicist David Bohm conducted those experiments. Now, we are starting to talk about a universe in which UFOs and psi phenomena can and do exist. This is good for me because I have been studying such things for 40 years now, with people thinking I was a fringe dweller, or worse.
You have no doubt seen and pondered holograms, those two-dimensional graphics that appear be three-dimensional. They may hold the key that opens the door and helps explain anomalies. Here is a definition of what is behind a hologram.
“The Holographic Principle holds that the information which describes all of the particles of matter and vibrations of energy in the bulk of the sphere fundamentally ‘lives’ at the boundary of the sphere.”
In plain English, the form of a 3D object is fully embedded in every point on a two-dimensional surface. Holograms form when a beam of light hits a plate and sends off refracted interference patterns. They contain the image of the hologram. It only exists as a field of light in space that appears to have three dimensions. So much for the technical explanation. We both know what they look like and they are essentially illusions.
There is no 3D object floating in space. But knowing that does not change the fact that we see an object floating in space. Odd, yes, and welcome to the paranormal dimension of the holographic universe.
All this is relevant to my research and thinking about ‘Ancient Aliens’. For me, this whole process started back in the late 1960s. I was living in Scandinavia and had an encounter with a UFO. It surprised me to the bone. Then and there my worldview shattered, and I had to try and explain it. Shortly thereafter Erich von Däniken’s book Chariots of the Gods? came out. I got a copy and was enthralled by the possibilities he suggested.
We forget, at least those my age do, that those were the heady days of the Space Race, men setting foot on the Moon, UFO flaps as headline stories for two decades and so on. All of a sudden this new book comes out intimating that perhaps Earth was visited by extra-terrestrials in the past. Maybe these ancient enigmas found all over the Earth such as pyramids had an explanation – ancient astronauts.
That proposition dovetailed into images of our astronauts in spacesuits climbing into a capsule before launch. ‘Star Trek’ and decades of sci-fi novels and films reinforced the concept of long-distance space travel in (hardware) 3D spaceships.
An archetype started forming. UFOs were advanced spacecraft piloted by aliens who were physical like us… but different. The simple formula was ancient astronauts had landed their ships on Earth, bio-engineered humans and departed.
In 1970 I recall what NASA promised. The next phase of space exploration was setting up a lunar colony. After that, manned Mars missions. The whole fictional environment of sci-fi was being spun as if it was real science.
Here we are almost 50 years later waiting for the still promised lunar mission. It keeps getting postponed every few years. Why? In fact, NASA never really explained why they pulled the plug on the lunar mission back then.
I suspect that some goo-goo got splattered all over the walls of Mission Control. They learned some things, quite a few actually, from the early manned missions. Unpleasant things about human beings in gravity-free habitats quickly losing muscle mass; unable to sleep; an entire list of nasty side effects, in fact.
I investigated the situation because I did not think NASA was passing the smell test. Liar, liar, pants on fire. (NASA: Never A Straight Answer.) The longer and deeper I thought about it, more and more reality floated up to the surface.
It seems there are some real intractable problems with extended space flight. The kind that bursts bubbles and makes you stop and think. Example: A trip to Neptune compromises the astronaut’s ability, in deep space, to communicate with Mission Control on Earth. Why? It takes eight minutes for a signal to travel that far. That means about 20 minutes turnaround time in an emergency. That won’t work. Extrapolate that scenario to interstellar space. We just hit the ‘Star Trek’ kill switch.
Nobody is going to be sent out on a suicide mission costing hundreds of millions of dollars. We will never be that far out on the edge of the solar system and forget about interstellar space travel. That was pure fantasy.
I know this sounds strange coming from an Ancient Alien theorist. But facts are facts, and they threw me for a loop when first discovered. With the deleterious health side effects coupled with the above, extended space travel is caput.
Is NASA informing the public of these naughty little details? Of course not! I could add the problems with a fail-safe oxygen generating system but that’s overkill.
This impacted my whole psychology about ancient aliens and modern UFOs. I realised that any alien civilisation in our Universe or dimension would be confronted by the same problems. In my latest book I went over this, however I think I was a bit too optimistic in my conclusions.
Returning to the 1970s momentarily, I was struggling to understand the encounter I had in 1968. There was also a very high-level scientist who had a similar experience and was also a UFO researcher. His name was Jacques Vallee [see article on page 45 of this issue].
Vallee had been on the team that developed the first prototype of the Internet. He had done design for NASA. I mean one smart guy. After years of researching the phenomenon, Vallee was not happy with the aliens-in-hardware-spacecraft model. That was the prevailing thinking back then among the research community.
He wrote a book explaining his objections, Passport to Magonia. That was followed by a radical proposition: the aliens were not from our dimension, but they entered and left it at will. They had been engaged in this activity in the remote past up to the present day. This became the Interdimensional Parallel Universe theory, hotly disputed by many researchers at the time.
I was at a crossroads when that came out and stirred up a huge controversy. I had studied the phenomenon, all the anomalies, and simply could not figure it out. In fact, I got to the point of being turned off by the politicking among researchers. That is when I chose to drop the modern UFO phenomenon and focus on the mysteries of ancient history. I reasoned that perhaps Vallee was correct.
There were lots of strange stone megaliths scattered all over the planet. I could not imagine how aliens from another dimension could manipulate them or why they would feel compelled to. I decided consciously (half-informed) to pursue the enigmas of the past. My working hypothesis was that an advanced ET civilisation had seeded the Earth, visited and bioengineered humanity into a hybrid race, implanted much knowledge in the Sumerians, and history unfolded.
My approach was a hybrid of its own. I discovered a paper written by two eminent scientists, Sir Francis Crick and Leslie Orgel [see Will Hart’s article “The Scientific Case for Alien Intervention” in New Dawn 167]. I was convinced they were onto something with Directed Panspermia. They laid out a bold refutation of Darwin’s doctrines and a good case for alien intervention.
I still think their approach has a core of valid facts, and their work raises many serious questions about evolution. Beyond that, how life emerged on planet Earth.
Erich von Däniken was a popular writer, but these two were scientists. I steered a middle course. Everything proceeded fairly smoothly for a while. Then in recent years psychological dissonance started to hit me. It took decades to go through hundreds of ancient sites and many thousands of artefacts to come to it.
The problem was that if aliens had come to Earth in spacecraft, why had I not seen one depiction of them? I mean the craft they arrived in and left, that is. You would expect that the Sumerians, who claimed they lived with the Annunaki, would have carved one on a stelae somewhere. They carved plenty of depictions of the gods. All these anomalies, evidence of ancient high technology, yet not one spaceship… it did not add up.

What I was finding instead were artefacts that suggested perhaps a portal of some kind was used. That mainly came in the last few years when I found out two things I had never noticed before or had but was focused on other priorities.
That was 1) the keyhole pattern found worldwide, and 2) the trapezoid embedded in a wide variety of ancient artefacts.
Step-by-step, as I needed it, new data came streaming in bringing fresh insights. I discovered and visited Japan to see their Keyhole Kofun. Massive structures surrounded by moats, hiding in plain sight. The Japanese do not promote them as a tourist attraction. In fact, a veil of tight security and secrecy surrounds them. The Royal Family owns and controls the main ones. Incredibly, there are an estimated 150,000 Kofun spread around the country. Even archaeologists get the ‘no trespass’ turnaround.
Kofun-like structure recently discovered on planet Mars.
Indeed, here is a very deep level anomaly. Keyhole structures resembling those in Japan have been found in the Arabian Desert. I have found the pattern at sites around the world. Perhaps the most surprising is the obvious keyhole design of St. Peter’s Square.
At the same time I was running into trapezoid windows, doorways, cave entrances, everywhere I looked. Snap! It dawned on me in a flash. The Keyhole Kofun had a trapezoidal lower section and a circular section above that.
Time rolled by and a bigger bolt hit me. This one was a bit of a shocker. I was looking at some ‘pyramids’ and suddenly noticed… those are not pyramids. They were not designed using a square base surmounted by four inward leaning triangles. None of them came together to a point on top.
Structures in Harrat Khaybar, Saudi Arabia, with distinctive keyhole design. These mysterious structures are estimated to be at least 9,000 years old.
A square base was surmounted by four trapezoids. The structures were truncated to accommodate a platform on top that held a solar temple. We had Westernised these structures and had triangles and pyramids in our minds. But they were not there, like the holographic images.
You cannot understand why the ancients built them by studying the geometry of triangles and true pyramids. The trapezoid is an embedded feature of ancient sites all over the globe. It isthe geometry we should have been investigating.
What was the message the ancients were trying to pass along to us in those shapes? Think of another trapezoid, circle combination, this one small. The ankh! Especially those from 1st dynasty Ancient Egypt which had a pure trapezoid under a perfect circle. That was later changed to a stem underneath a loop.
The message has to do with the nature and structure of the space/time continuum we inhabit. Keyhole. Just like the phi code was embedded in ancient buildings, including the pyramids. Today, scientists and programmers are rediscovering it. Now phi is embedded in algorithms in a zillion software applications.
That ratio is a very deep secret related to how the universe design’s structures. At this point I have abandoned the hardware archetype. Don’t get the wrong idea; the concept was not that important in my latest book. One of my objectives in the volume is to present the best UFO evidence and integrate Ancient Aliens with the modern UFO phenomenon. The phenomenon forms a continuum.
I feel compelled to examine the possibilities of interdimensional transit. I wonder what conditions would have to exist to facilitate it. I am taking the keyhole and trapezoid shapes and trying to pierce that veil as well. The title of my next book is going to be Alien Presence…
Unidentified Flying Objects – The Reality, the Cover-Up and the Truth
Unidentified Flying Objects – The Reality, the Cover-Up and the Truth
Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs as they are commonly known, have been witnessed by millions of people all over the world and have been recorded in history books, myths, legends and traditions for thousands of years. However, many accounts that are recorded in ancient texts are dismissed as mere myths and legends, while UFO sightings that have taken place in the last few centuries have been classified as misinterpretations of natural phenomena, illusions, or conspiracy theories.
The Reality Within the Mythology of Unidentified Flying Objects
History has shown us time and again that a plethora so-called myths have their basis in reality. It is possible, and indeed likely, that stories and legends were a way for people to explain real—and perhaps perplexing—events using the knowledge and beliefs of their time.
In support of this theory, a number of events described in mythology, which were once considered mere fairy tales, have now been proven through archaeology to have existed. A famous example is the city Troy, which is central to Homer’s The Iliad . Long considered to be a city of myth, Heinrich Schliemann’s discovery of the actual site in 1868 elevated it to a place in history.
Nevertheless, the remainder of The Iliad is still viewed as a myth and fantasy without any serious attempts being made to investigate whether or not there may be more truth behind the tale. The same goes for many accounts of flying machines and unidentified flying objects , which we find reference to in countless mythologies from numerous different cultures around the world.
It is common to see people selectively decide what is real and what is not based on the unsubstantiated assumption that ancient people were primitive and had little to no knowledge compared to us today. On the contrary, many ancient civilizations, like the Sumerians, Indus Valley, and Egyptians existed with complex social structures, legal systems, art, astronomy, mathematics, and technology, some of which is still not fully understood today. The Antikythera Mechanism , for example, is a 2,200-year-old mechanical device that is still not completely understood despite decades of research by top scientists around the world.
Many cultures contain pictorial and written records of flying machines or unidentified flying objects, yet these are usually dismissed as myth and legend . ( CC BY-SA 3.0 )
Ancient Astronaut Theory and Unidentified Flying Objects
The topic of flying objects and supernatural beings from beyond our world is one in which we find multiple references in mythology. All of these myths and legends, along with archaeological evidence such as rock art depictions, have created a wave of theories that gave birth to the aptly named ancient astronaut perspective. This theory links all of these ancient references and depictions to UFOs, and posits that extraterrestrials visited Earth and made contact with humans in antiquity and prehistory, influencing the development of human cultures, technologies, and religions.
Unfortunately, there are numerous charlatans who have tried to cash in on this movement for profit or publicity, or who have diminished it with caricatures of little green men, resulting in the ancient astronaut perspective being widely criticized and attacked for its lack of credibility. Consequently, what is in fact a plausible and possible explanation for what we see in ancient art and texts, is now rarely examined by scholars, who fear being ridiculed or having their professional career seriously undermined.
UFO Sightings in Recent History
But let’s leave the ancient past for a while and examine just the last 80 years of human history. Millions of people all over the globe have witnessed unidentified flying objects . Many have been recorded in detailed reports witnessed by police, pilots, astronauts, government officials, pilots, military personnel and, of course, ordinary citizens.
Some of the more well-known cases were witnessed by thousands of people at one time. Historical records make it evident that UFO appearances magnified during and after World War II, including the example of the famous Foo Fighters.
While most sightings can be explained either by celestial phenomena, airplanes, planets, weather phenomena, military exercises, or in some cases drug use or mental instability, there still exists a small percentage that cannot be accounted for by any of these explanations. This is what makes the phenomena important, particularly considering that sightings are frequently reported around military bases and airfields and are therefore, at the very least, a matter of both national security and air safety.
It is an undeniable fact that there are cases of unidentified objects in our skies. It has been acknowledged by the major governments from all over the world simply through the very fact that official research has been conducted on the matter in the US, UK, Russia, Europe, China, South America, and many others. All of this research, in every single case, concluded that there is a percentage of phenomena that cannot be explained.
In recent history, many countries have declassified their UFO research files, releasing thousands of documents through the Freedom of Information Act and making numerous UFO cases available in the public domain. One recently released document from the UFO files in Britain, revealed how Churchill, concerned about the UFO issue, ordered a shutdown of information for at least 50 years to prevent mass panic and the potential to undermine religious beliefs. The document in question was published on the BBC news site in 2010.
By doing careful research on the topic, passing over obvious scam and fake stories, it is clear to see that unidentified flying objects do exist. So the question is not whether they exist or not, but rather, what are they? Are they of terrestrial or extraterrestrial origin? And what is their purpose?

Unidentified Flying Objects and the Limits of Science
Many prominent scientists have already stated that other civilizations must exist in the Universe, and that it would be statistically impossible for this not to be the case. However, with our knowledge of science and technology today, we cannot yet support the means for interstellar travel. Since we have not discovered intelligent life in our solar system, the assumption is made that there must be no way that extraterrestrials could have travelled to Earth.
However, this argument is of course flawed because it is based within the framework of our own understanding of the universe, and does not take into account the capabilities of civilizations that may be millions of years ahead of our own. It also hinges on the following assumptions:
We know everything about physics and reality and therefore there is no way that such distant travel can be achieved.
We are using our means to try to contact other civilizations (e.g. SETI’s attempts to pick up radio or communication signals) and since we don’t perceive any signals of OUR type, nothing must exist.
We are looking for organic forms of life exactly like us and for planets with the exact same conditions as ours.
It is clear that these arguments show the arrogance of mankind, a mankind that may just be an infant in the Universe. And this is not new. During the history of humanity, in every single period of time, we believed that we knew the truth, only to have it replaced later on by new knowledge.
“There is nothing new to be discovered in physics now. All that remains is more and more precise measurement.”
(Lord Kelvin, 1901, physicist)
Quantum physics , still a relatively new and unexplored field in Science, has shown that reality could be completely different to what we believe it to be. Powerful telescopes have shown distant planets in solar systems that could possibly sustain life. Theories of wormholes and warp drives have shown that at a theoretical level we could achieve interstellar travel. Yes, we would require incredible amounts of energy to even think of trying to achieve something like this, so according to our standards today it is impossible to achieve, but in theory it can be achieved.
“It now seems quite clear that Earth is not the only inhabited planet. There is evidence that the bulk of the stars in the sky have planetary systems. Recent research concerning the origin of life on Earth suggests that the physical and chemical processes leading to the origin of life occur rapidly in the early history of the majority of planets within our Milky Way galaxy–perhaps as many as a million–are inhabited by technical civilizations in advance of our own. Interstellar space flight is far beyond our present technical capabilities, but there seems to be no fundamental physical objections to preclude, from our own vantage point, the possibility of its development by other civilizations.”
Carl Sagan, Ph.D. (Late Professor of Astronomy and Space Sciences, Cornell University)
Reluctance to Engage with Unidentified Flying Objects
The reason that the scientific community is not dealing seriously with UFOs is because the topic has been extensively ridiculed both by the media and in academic circles, with false information spread everywhere. For similar reasons, military personnel, astronauts, pilots, and other categories of professionals do not want to talk because, either they have been forced to sign confidentiality agreements, or because of fear that their careers would be destroyed. This is why we have seen many examples of death bed confessions.
One such case was with astronaut Gordon Cooper, who told the world about his experience encountering a UFO during his flight in the Mercury capsule in 1963. Before he died he stated: “For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us.”
While great efforts have been made to ridicule and disparage anyone who lends support to the existence of UFOs, the fact remains that there are numerous high-profile cases of unidentified flying objects that are supported by solid evidence, and which should not be dismissed.
Recorded UFO Sightings with Extensive Witness Support
Below I present a very limited list constituting strong evidence for the existence of unidentified flying objects in the last 60 years.
It all happened in the early hours of February 25 in 1942. An aircraft flew over LA County that sparked an air raid alert (it was in the midst of WWII). Searchlights and guns were locked onto the aircraft for about an hour. The picture below appeared in the LA Times in a story about the Battle of LA. It clearly shows a night time defensive response to an air raid. The aircraft was not hostile and obviously was not damaged by the attack. The Government stated that the craft they were shooting at was an unidentified flying object.

This incident involved a group of American servicemen stationed at a military base in Suffolk that contained a storage center with nuclear weapons. There had been three consecutive nights of sighting objects in the sky over the base, in some cases shining a light down upon the nuclear weapons storage.
On the third night, approximately two dozen servicemen were sent into the forest to investigate one set of mysterious lights. The men reported seeing a spacecraft on the ground in close proximity to them and three extraterrestrial beings. One serviceman claimed to have touched the craft.
The whole incident was filmed and photographed by one of the servicemen, but all photos and videos were removed by the US military. When the British Government released the UFO files, the Rendlesham incident papers were missing – as reported by the BBC News .
In November, 1986, a Japanese crew of a jumbo freighter aircraft witnessed three enormous unidentified objects while flying over Alaska, USA. This sighting gained international attention when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it was going to officially investigate this sighting because the Air Route Traffic Control Center in Anchorage, Alaska, had reported that the UFO had been detected on radar. The unidentified flying objects in this case were tracked on both ground and airborne radar, witnessed by experienced airline pilots, and confirmed by a FAA Division Chief.

The Belgium UFO wave began in November 1989. The events of 29 November would be documented by no less than thirty different groups of witnesses, and three separate groups of police officers. All of the reports related to a large object flying at low altitude.
The craft itself was of a flat, triangular shape, with lights underneath. This giant craft did not make a sound as it slowly moved across the landscape of Belgium. The Belgium UFO wave peaked with events on the night of 30/31 March 1990. On that night, unknown objects were tracked on radar, chased by two Belgian Air Force F16s, photographed, and were sighted by an estimated 13,500 people on the ground – 2,600 of whom filed written statements describing in detail what they had seen. Following the incident, the Belgian air force released a report detailing the events of that night.

The Phoenix Lights (also identified as "Lights over Phoenix") was a UFO sighting which occurred in Phoenix, Arizona, and Sonora, Mexico on Thursday, March 13, 1997. Lights of varying descriptions were seen by thousands of people between 19:30 and 22:30 MST, in a space of about 300 miles (480 km), from the Nevada line, through Phoenix, to the edge of Tucson.
Witnesses claim to have observed a huge square-shaped UFO, containing five spherical lights or possibly light-emitting engines. Fife Symington, the governor at the time, was one witness to this incident; he later called the unidentified flying object as "otherworldly."
On the night of August 30, a cluster of multi-colored lights was seen floating in the sky above Osaka. Several people reported to Twitter that they saw a group of lights forming a triangular shape and flashing green, red and white in the night sky above Izumi city in Osaka Prefecture. The sightings caused a commotion on Twitter after one user wrote: “Everyone in Osaka, go outside! There’s a UFO!” prompting others to grab their cameras and snap up photos of mysterious, luminous and unidentified flying object.
At approximately 16:15 CST on Tuesday November 7, 2006, federal authorities at Chicago O'Hare International Airport received a report that a group of twelve airport employees were witnessing a metallic, saucer-shaped craft hovering over Gate C-17.
The object was first spotted by a ramp employee who was pushing back United Airlines Flight 446, which was departing Chicago for Charlotte, North Carolina. The employee apprised Flight 446's crew of the object above their aircraft. It is believed that both the pilot and co-pilot also witnessed the object.
Several independent witnesses outside of the airport also saw the object. According to the Chicago Tribune 's Jon Hilkevitch, “the disc was visible for approximately two minutes and was seen by close to a dozen United Airlines employees, ranging from pilots to supervisors, who heard chatter on the radio and raced out to view it.”

The incident took place on May 2007 at 14.00 local time in Lima, Peru. A series of moving lights resembling an armada of flying objects appeared in the skies. The story was reported on the news and was seen by thousands of people.
An unidentified flying object that disrupted air traffic in Hangzhou for an hour on Wednesday, 10th of July 2010. A flight crew preparing for descent first detected the object around 8:40 p.m. and notified the air traffic control department. Aviation authorities responded within minutes, grounding outbound flights and diverting inbound ones to airports in Ningbo and Wuxi. Eighteen flights were affected.
A spokesman from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) confirmed to ABC News that the matter is under investigation. He declined to disclose further details. A day after the sighting, however, an anonymous source told China Daily that authorities already discovered the identity of the UFO after an investigation but could not publically disclose the information because “there was a military connection.”

Implications of Disclosing Information about Unidentified Flying Objects
Many would say that the above examples constitute irrefutable proof that extraterrestrial UFOs exist. So why isn’t the public told about it? Imagine the implications that disclosure would have and what it would mean. Acknowledgment of extra-terrestrial civilizations having visited Earth would mean that many of the myths and legends of the past are in fact based on reality.
Disclosure would suggest that humanity has been influenced for millennia by other-worldly beings, beings that in the past were considered gods. Disclosure would entirely topple the status quo and the balance of powers in society, and turn upside down what we know about the history of mankind.
The acknowledgement of the UFO phenomena is an event with the power to bring a global revolution in every sector of our lives today – technology and energy supply, communication and environmental concerns, society and religion. Is this what governments and corporations are afraid of – a shift in balance and their loss of their positions of power and control? Or is it that the powers that be are afraid of re-writing our human history?
“When the long awaited solution to the UFO problem comes, I believe that it will prove to be not merely the next small step in the march of science, but a mighty and totally unexpected quantum leap.”

Newly released video and direct testimony from a former Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agent reveal that, much like U.S. Navy pilots who say they have regularly encountered unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), law enforcement officials defending America’s borders are also encountering unusual aerial objects with surprising frequency.
According to sources The Debrief has interviewed, these incidents include encounters with aerial objects that appear to perform maneuvers well beyond the capabilities of conventional aircraft. Some of these events, which were also captured on video, have left a number of veteran pilots and other personnel questioning the nature and origin of these objects.
Now in an exclusive to The Debrief, a former CBP agent is breaking his silence, offering significant details about his own experience with UAPs while patrolling the Mexican-American border. This, along with experiences and videos shared with him by fellow CBP and Department of Homeland Security officials, and his efforts to set up a process within the CBP for pilots and agents to report their sightings.
For much of the last century, people have reported seeing strange objects in America’s skies. Sometimes appearing to maneuver at considerable speeds and without discernible means of propulsion, these unidentified aerial phenomena, more commonly known as UFOs, have remained an enduring mystery; one that ignores cultural and ideological boundaries with the same disregard they appear to show for territorial borders.
In recent years, the dialogue surrounding this long-taboo topic has been significantly elevated, particularly among lawmakers and defense officials in Washington. Several incidents, a majority of them reported in recent years by U.S. Navy personnel, have prompted questions about whether drones and sophisticated surveillance platforms operated by foreign adversaries–or perhaps something else entirely–could be involved in these aerial incursions into U.S. airspace.
Yet people from virtually all walks of life have claimed to have bewildering sightings of these aerial interlopers. And as some former government officials have recently told The Debrief, when it comes to U.S. government and UAP, the Department of Defense is hardly the only show in town.
“It’s not just the DoD encountering this stuff,” says Robert “Bob” Thompson, a recently retired Department of Homeland Security Agent.
In an interview with The Debrief, Thompson recounted how one of the roles he took on as a federal agent with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector Special Operations Group involved establishing the reporting requirements for Unexplained Aerial Phenomena within the Tucson Sector.
According to Thompson, just like the military, a number of these bizarre incidents involving UAP have been captured on sophisticated government systems, normally tasked with catching drug smugglers or staving off the flow of illegal immigration.
“We have guys out there 24/7 with their eyes to the sky looking for smuggling, but they see other stuff,” said Thompson. “I talked to dozens and dozens of agents that all had similar stories of seeing bizarre stuff, of having encounters with UAP.”

After servingfor 11 years with the U.S. military and a stint with a Tucson area Fire Department as a Paramedic and Hazmat Technician, Thompson began his career with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency in January 2008.
As a federal law enforcement agent, Thompson would go on to spend the next 14 years guarding America’s southern borders, ultimately earning a spot on the Tucson Sectors Special Operations Detachment Mobile Response Team (MRT.)
“I gravitated, you know, almost right off the bat to the special operations side,” Thompson told The Debrief.
“As always, you just want to surround yourself with the best,” he said. “100% out for excellence all the time. I got on to what they call our mobile Response Team, which is one of the three tiers that make up the Border Patrol Special Operations Detachment.”
Within the Special Operations Detachment the primary focus was counter terrorism, counter weapons of mass destruction proliferation, and drug interdiction.
From 2020 to 2021, Thompson worked in the newly created Arizona Air Coordination Center, which was to become the brain for Air Operations within the Tucson Sector. While tasked in the center, Thompson worked on other projects including helping redesign the sector’s antiquated 911 system and redesigning reporting requirements for regular tracking of statistics for air support operations.
“Flying was kind of my forte. My responsibility was mainly helicopters, and some of the other aerial platforms that we work with and other partner agencies that we work with,” said Thompson in a phone call with The Debrief. “I was also a paramedic too. In fact, I was the senior paramedic, for all of the Border Patrol. I’d get pinged a lot as a subject matter expert when it comes to emergency management and preparation, emergency medicine, and counterterrorism.”
However, along with his official duties with the DHS, Thompson began investigating UAP sightings he learned about from within the agency, even collecting videos and images of bizarre encounters captured by sophisticated government systems.
“There’s other people that have concerns about [these objects] as well. You know, like it may be a foreign adversary,” said Thompson, describing them as “genuine objects that I couldn’t explain.”
Although Thompson admits to having a long-time interest in UFOs, it was only after the 2017 revelations of a quasi-secret Pentagon program, the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (ATTIP), that he said he realized the DHS could provide equally valuable information in the organized study of UAP. Thompson said he began producing an “Issue Paper” in an effort to improve reporting and guidance for agents encountering UAP along the southwest border.
“Tucson Sector Border Patrol (TCA) in conjunction with the Tucson Air and Marine Branch needs to develop a program to be able to Report, Identify, Catalog, and if needed; Interdict Unexplained Aerial Phenomena (UAP) that are encountered along the Southwest Border,” Thompson wrote in the document, a copy of which was obtained by The Debrief.
“Whether or not some of these objects pose a threat to American Interests is not clearly understood and by establishing reporting requirements, it may serve as an early warning system for emerging threats when combined with technology assets already in place by DHS.”
A February 9, 2021 encounter by the Tucson Police Department Air Support unit with an object that “defied known drone/SUAS characteristics,” was highlighted in the document. The craft, described as a “highly modified drone,” was able to outmaneuver helicopters operated by both the Tucson Police Department and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

“This thing went on for 45 minutes over the city of Tucson,” Bob told The Debrief. “It was doing circles around (the police helicopters) then went up to 14,000 (ft).”
“Could [it] be something Raytheon related?” Thompson asked. “Absolutely. Could it be, you know, a Chinese drone doing some scouting? Absolutely.”
While trying to convince senior leadership to take the issue seriously, Thompson put the word out to the DHS aviation community that he was interested in any UAP encounters they might have had.
Continuing to carry out his full time duties at a DHS air coordination fusion center, it wasn’t long before Thompson says a stream of DHS and National Guard pilots started sharing accounts of encounters with aerial objects they could not identify. In some instances, the objects were also recorded on video by aircraft equipped with advanced imaging systems.
One striking example, made public now for the first time, depicts three fast-moving unidentified aircraft captured by the sophisticated targeting/imaging system of an Army AH-64 attack helicopter.
Captured by oneof the U.S. military’s flagship attack helicopters close to midnight on November 6, 2018, roughly 40 miles northwest of Tucson, Arizona, the video appears to show several unidentifiable objects maneuvering unlike any known aircraft.
“Wow! Are those three really fast moving jets up there?” exclaims the Apache helicopter’s co-pilot and gunner as three objects suddenly appear, dashing across the sky as the aircraft prepares to take-off.
“Probably. Probably some A10’s or some F-16s,” the Apache’s pilot replies, before admitting, “but, I’m not looking up there.”
Although difficult to discern from the video alone, the three unknown aircraft initially appear to be flying in a loose triangular formation.
The co-pilot continues to follow the three objects with the aircraft’s multi-sensor imaging system, the Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor (M-TADS/PNVS).
“The M-TADS/PNVS’s advanced FLIR sensors enable Army Aviation Warfighters to see first, understand first, act first and finish decisively on the tactical battlefield,” reads a fact sheet provided by the system’s manufacturer, Lockheed Martin. The sophisticated Apache Aviator Integrated Helmet (AAIH) worn by the aircrew allows the nose mounted IR imaging sensor to follow a pilot’s head movements.
As they approach the foothills of nearby Picacho Peak, the three unknown objects suddenly appear to rotate around each other, as if revolving around an unseen axis, all while maintaining a steady eastward trajectory.
After several rotations, the objects then resume an obtuse triangular formation before speeding out of sight as the Apache begins to take off.

Although the encounter only lasted a few seconds, the unusual maneuvers conveyed in the video suggests it could represent the first publicly available imagery of UAP displaying highly-unconventional flight characteristics, captured by military sensor systems.
To verify the video’s authenticity, The Debrief was able to obtain a complete, unedited copy of the imagery captured by the Apache’s gun camera during the entirety of its flight.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), unless there is a known air safety accident or incident, radar tracking information, air traffic control tape recordings, and data communications are only retained for 45 days.
Because the incident is more than three-years old, The Debrief was likewise unable to obtain any automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) transponder data from commercial aircraft tracking sources, capable of revealing any information on other aircraft that were operating within the vicinity at the time of the sighting.
It was noted that in the video the Apache pilot can be heard interacting with air traffic control and requesting permission to take off. There is no mention by air controllers to the pilots of any other aircraft operating in the area.
A check with aeronautical charts of the area using SkyVector.com also failed to provide any obvious clues, such as designated flight paths, low-level air-traffic lanes, or military operational areas that might help account for the objects.
In a video call with The Debrief, former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot Chris Lehto said the objects certainly have the appearance of being anomalous.
“It looks like three definite objects, but at a distance. The first thing that stands out to me is the rate of acceleration,” said Lehto, who spent 20-years in the Air Force flying F-16s and holds a Masters degree in aeronautical science.
Chris Lehto (above) seated in an F-16 Fighting Falcon prior to take-off on Feb. 5, 2009 at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska (Image Source: USAF/Public Domain).
“If you see an airline out a distance, you’re just expecting it to move a certain amount of distance in a certain amount of time. Especially as a pilot, you just, you build that out more and you’re used to looking at planes and assessing how far away they are. And looking at objects, your brain just gets more and more attuned to that,” Lehto explained.
“And when I looked at this, the rate of acceleration just doesn’t make sense for any objects… I’ve seen in my life, as a pilot.”
Lehto says the objects appear to be moving faster than what he would expect to see even from high-performance aircraft, such as an F-16 or F/A-18 fighter jet.
“Without a doubt. I mean things do move that fast, but they’re constant because when they’re moving that fast they have a very large radius of curvature when they turn just based on centripetal force acceleration to be going that fast,” said Lehto.
When it comes to the bizarre sudden rotations, Lehto said, “How they fly, it doesn’t feel mechanical to me. They’re changing altitudes and headings, or it just doesn’t feel like how we would fly, how I would fly a plane. Basically, at a certain altitude maybe you’re descending, but you’re descending to go somewhere.”
“It’s just kind of willy nilly flying around,” said Lehto. “It just kind of gives me more of an organic rather than mechanical feeling.” 7
Estimated Ground Track of three UAP depicted in the “Longbow 288” footage (Image Source: Chris Lehto/Google).
After completing his own analysis of the footage, Lehto provided The Debrief with several additional details that stood out to him, which have led him to conclude the objects display characteristics that appear to defy explanation.
“The tracking rate is exceptionally fast,” Lehto told The Debrief. “Even if they are only a mile away, I calculate they go approximately 1.28M. Well past the speed of sound.”
And according to Lehto, the unusual circular flight path the objects demonstrate near the end of the footage is the strangest aspect of the film.
“The circle-dance maneuver is just not possible,” Lehto said. “They do a full 360-degree turn in less than 3 seconds!”
Estimated flight path of three UAP at 2 NM (Image Source: Chris Lehto/Google)
The former fighter pilot expressed confidence that an F-16 is indeed capable of turning at incredible speeds. According to Lehto, “in a level turn, at Mach 0.8, 7 Gs, and 14 deg/sec, the F-16 could turn 360 degrees in about 26 [seconds].”
But in Lehto’s opinion, no F-16—nor any drone or other aircraft in the current known inventory of the United States military—is capable of what the objects are seen doing in the video. He judges that they display “a turn rate that is an order of magnitude faster than one of the fastest turning fighters on earth,” which he estimates to be above 70 Gs.
“I’ve analyzed the video,” Lehto told The Debrief, concluding “it is without a doubt anomalous.”
In a phone call, Graves said that at times the unknown objects pilots were encountering off America’s east coast during training exercises at the time would engage in similar bizarre, “non-mechanical” maneuvers.
“It’s hard to describe exactly, but sometimes they would appear to behave erratically. Like group together or change positions while in formation in ways that you wouldn’t see aircraft behave,” said Graves.
“This was in three-dimensional space too. Not just their vector, but sometimes they would also abruptly change altitude.”
To reinforce the need for a UAP task force within DHS, Thompson provided a copy of another 40-minute long UAP video to the nonprofit Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU), an organization comprised mainly of scientists from various fields who are engaged in the study of aerial phenomena.
Popularly referred to as the “Rubber Duck,” the video taken from a DHS surveillance aircraft shows a misshapen object steadingly flying along near America’s southern border with Mexico.
Records reviewed by The Debrief verified Thompson had made supervisors at DHS aware of his UAP related side-project, as well as the fact that he had provided the purported UAP footage to the SCU for analysis.
“I’ve seen things,” Thompson said. I’ve seen things myself, but unfortunately, I’ve never been able to hit the record button, or have something that was just going to be mind blowing for people.”
“But this one, the ‘rubber duck video’ I thought displayed some really unique characteristics that I couldn’t explain. To me, it didn’t resemble a balloon [and] it didn’t resemble a drone.”
Skeptic Mick West has expressed the view that the object in the “Rubber Duck” video might nonetheless be a drone or runaway mylar balloon, although he acknowledges that conclusive identification based on information in the video alone would be difficult.
“We really don’t know what it is and we probably won’t ever know what it is,” West said in a video on his YouTube channel.
The Debrief reached out to the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies for comment about the footage, and although the video was pending analysis by an SCU team member, the results of that study had not been completed and made publicly available at the time of publication.
Previously, the SCU conducted an analysis of a separate video originating from within the DHS, filmed over the Rafael Hernandez airport at Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on April 25, 2013, and obtained by the group later that year.
According to the official who provided the footage to the SCU, who chose to remain anonymous, but whose background information was vetted prior to the analysis, the object appearing in the video produced no squawking transponder signal which would have alerted air traffic control nearby about its presence over the airport.
“Fortunately an airborne U.S. Customs and Border Protection aircraft captured the object on infrared video,” a portion of an extensive report on SCU’s findings states.
Rich Hoffman, an executive board member of SCU who has worked professionally as a defense contractor for more than two decades, says that analysis revealed characteristics about the object that weren’t easily explained.
“It doesn’t have any kind of thermal signature that you would expect,” Hoffman says, who noted that the characteristics displayed by the object in the footage are not consistent with how a balloon or bird would normally appear through thermal imaging systems.
“We got its flight path nailed down,” Hoffman says, adding that SCU “deduced that the speed varied… from about 80 to 85 miles per hour.” Hoffman also notes that the SCU had to account for the parallax effect regarding the object’s movement, which can give the appearance of a faster-moving object due to its relationship with the background based on the camera angle.
“It was a relatively small object,” Hoffman adds, noting that SCU’s analysis determined it had likely been between two and three feet in diameter. The SCU’s complete analysis can be read online at its website.
Thanks in part to the Department of Defense and Congress’s continued interest in collecting data on UAP, things seemed to be progressing–albeit at a snail’s pace typical of government bureaucracy–in Thompson’s attempt to establish similar efforts within the DHS.
However, following unforeseen medical circumstances, Thompson suddenly found himself facing early retirement from his more than 20 years of combined federal service.
Fearing his efforts to have a formal process within DHS to collect and investigate UAP incidents might see additional setbacks, Thompson took action similar to others who have faced such obstacles related to the often taboo topic: he chose to publicly release some of the videos he had obtained showing DHS or military encounters with UAP.
“The videos aren’t classified and they don’t have any nexus to anything related to smuggling,” Thompson emphasized. “So they fit in this weird gray area that Border Patrol really didn’t care about.”
“When I got the very first video, the rubber duck video, I asked him (my boss) directly, ‘is there any reason why I can’t share this with anyone?’ Thompson told The Debrief. And he told me point blank, ‘No.’”
After obtaining permission to share the videos, to raise public awareness Thompson reached out to Andy Marcial, who runs a UAP-related Instagram account called NY UAP Discussions.
“I’ve always helped out the little guy, that’s always been something that’s been instilled in me from an early age,” said Thompson. “And, you know, I looked at Andy as a little guy, you know, when it came to the UFO community. That was why, you know, I reached out to Andy to see if he wanted to get these videos out.”
Marcial told The Debrief that he had been surprised when Thompson reached out to him with the footage.
“At first I was reluctant to believe it. Of all the people, why me?” Marcial said in a call with The Debrief, chuckling as he described the first time Thompson reached out to him. “After seeing the videos though, I realized that this was something very important. That people needed to see it.”
Marcial, choosing to release three of the DHS videos he received, gave them the titles “Rubber Duck,” “A-10,” and “La Bruja.”
What the objects depicted in the videos actually represent remains a matter of debate. What can be verified is that each was captured using sophisticated aircraft imaging systems, and that the pilots or aircrews had no explanation at the time for what was seen. Categorically, the objects in the videos simply remain unidentified.
The videos were among the first to be made publicly available showing purported UAP encounters captured by government systems since three similar videos, obtained by U.S. Navy personnel, were released in late 2017.
To his surprise, Marcial also found himself a target of criticism, on account of both the interpretation by some that the videos might convey balloons or other prosaic objects, as well as apparent suspicions over Marcial’s relatively recent entry into the online “UFO community.”
“It was a massive disappointment,” Marcial said. “It was really hard to try and do the right thing and get this stuff out there, then have people act like they were upset or start criticizing me.”
Marcial says he doesn’t ultimately know what UAP represents, but that the implications could be seismic; so long as the potential remains for exotic possibilities.
“There is too much negativity in the world, too much hate, too much fighting, too much bickering, and way too little love, empathy, and unity,” Marcial says. “Maybe if we found out we aren’t alone in the universe it would change perspectives and views so that the next generation will usher in a new era for mankind.”
Undeterred, Marcial hopes that further releases like the Apache video and further inquiries by lawmakers and government officials will motivate others to take the subject of UAP seriously.
“I would like for academics, scientists, and the general public to not only take the subject seriously, but also understand that there could be more to reality than what we currently comprehend,” Marcial says.
“We need to study and investigate this phenomena to not only understand UAP, but also reality as a whole.”
More than any personal interesthe had in UAP, Thompson says what drove him to begin collecting information about what his fellow DHS employees were seeing had been a lack of any formal reporting structure for such sightings.
“Guys are seeing stuff and they didn’t have a means to report it,” he says. “And that’s what brought me more into this than anything.”
Thompson hopes that exposing UAP encounters, like the one recorded by Apache helicopter pilots showing airborne objects performing unlike any known aircraft, may further encourage government officials to take UAP incidents seriously.
“It’s been such a taboo subject for so long, especially in the law enforcement community, especially in the military community,” Thompson says. “I don’t care if it’s a UFO or a Chinese drone, it should get reported to the correct authorities.”
Speaking on background, three separate U.S. defense officials familiar with the government’s current UAP investigations said the encounter by the Apache pilots in 2018 was not reported to either the UAP Task Force, or its sucessor program, the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG).
Defense officials The Debrief spoke with said the lack of knowledge was likely due to the fact that new UAP reporting procedures were still being formalized in 2018. Likewise, the officials said the incident highlights how problems still exist in trying to coordinate centralized UAP reporting practices amongst all government agencies.
“It definitely appears to be anomalous,” said one senior defense official who viewed the Apache video and was familiar with the work of the UAP Task Force. “If it had been reported right after it occurred the task force could have likely been able to obtain significantly more data,” the source told The Debrief.
When provided with the analysis by former F-16 pilot Chris Lehto of the Apache incident, the same defense official said they considered it a “great analysis.”
A recently retired senior U.S. Air Force officer agreed to examine the Apache video, under the condition of anonymity.
The Air Force officer, a former pilot that has held various command and staff positions throughout their career, said the objects seen in the video “did not seem to comport with the flight characteristics of any known aircraft platform, although more analysis is needed to confirm this.”
“I’m not going to get into specifics, but unequivocally, I know for a fact that the government has some extremely compelling evidence on UAP. Much more significant than what has been released so far, including the examples provided during the recent public Congressional hearing,” the former Air Force Officer also said.
“This Apache video appears to show UAP behaving in ways that suggest non-mechanical flight. It would be interesting to know if there is other evidence that demonstrates UAP behaving in ways that are inconsistent with mechanical flight.”
The Department of Defense has consistently declined to discuss any details about specific UAP incidents. The Customs and Border Patrol Public Affairs Office did not respond to several requests by The Debrief for comment.
As for the videos, Thompson says they are just a small sample of the types of “unidentified” things National Guard pilots, CBP agents and other DHS personnel regularly encounter during the course of their duties.
Despite the wide range of expertise he and his fellow agents develop during the extended hours they spend using the most state-of-the-art equipment available to them, Thompson says they still cannot determine what they are seeing in these videos.
“Our guys are out there every day for, you know, 12 hour shifts, staring at that screen, trying to scrutinize a cow from a jackrabbit to a person walking to a bird flying in the sky, to a ultralight, to a helicopter, to the A-10s,” says Thompson.
“I personally have 1000s of hours behind the screens,” Thompson says. “So, if I see something and I don’t know what it is?”
He pauses, weighing his words with a care and discernment evident of man with Thompson’s many years in official service.
“I’m telling you,” he finally says, “it’s got me stumped.”

Authentic 1948 film of pilot Captain Mantell crash while chasing a UFO
Authentic 1948 film of pilot Captain Mantell crash while chasing a UFO
On January 7, 1948, 25-year-old Captain Thomas F. Mantell, a Kentucky Air National Guard pilot, died in the crash of his P-51 Mustang fighter plane near Franklin, Kentucky, United States, after being sent in pursuit of an unidentified flying object (UFO). The event was among the most publicized early UFO incidents.
Later investigation by the United States Air Force's Project Blue Book indicated that Mantell may have died chasing a Skyhook balloon, which in 1948 was a top-secret project that he would not have known about.
Mantell pursued the object in a steep climb and disregarded suggestions to level his altitude. At high altitude he blacked out from a lack of oxygen; his plane went into a downward spiral and crashed.
In 1956, Air Force Captain Edward J. Ruppelt (the first head of Project Blue Book) wrote that the Mantell crash was one of three "classic" UFO cases in 1948 that would help to define the UFO phenomenon in the public mind, and would help convince some Air Force intelligence specialists that UFOs were a "real" physical phenomenon.
Image left: A skyhook balloon from 1957 - Image right: The alleged UFO 'which does not resemble a skyhook balloon.'
Somewhere in the archives of the Air Force or the Navy there are records that will show whether or not a balloon was launched from Clinton County AFB, Ohio, on January 7, 1948. Captain Edward J. Ruppelt never could find these records.
People who were working with the early skyhook projects "remember" operating out of Clinton County AFB in 1947 but refuse to be pinned down to a January 7 flight.
A newly released infrared image showed a 'swarm' of three 'Tic-Tac shaped'UFOs chase four U.S. Navy destroyers off the coast of California.
The grainy image has been released by the Navy and shows what appears to be three small dots, representing unmanned aerial systems (UAS), hovering near the USS Paul Hamilton. It was one of the many occurrences Naval ships saw over the course of weeks, as many destroyers spotted these contraptions in July 2019.
These three UAS appeared near the ship around 8pm on July 17 shortly after the USS Paul Hamilton cut location broadcasting via the Automatic Identification System (AIS). Ships are not required to broadcast their location 24/7 and usually disable the transponder in situations that call for heightened security.
This decision was not reflected on the ship's deck log, but earlier in the month, logs indicate that other ships in the area also turned of AIS during UAS activity.
Additionally, the USS Paul Hamilton's log did indicate that the UAS appeared shortly after it had turned its navigation lights on.
Shortly before 8pm, one UAS was spotted one nautical mile away. Twenty minutes later, the timeline indicates that two more were seen, with one falling into the water, The Drive reported after viewing documents it received through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The ship reported seeing red, flashing lights.
Roughly 30 minutes later, the USS Paul Hamilton reported a 'UAS swarm' and by 9:11 p.m., one UAS was directly above at 2,000 feet. By 9:15, the UAS moved away from the ship at almost 70mph before returning less than 10 minutes later.
The USS Hamilton reported that the 'swarm' lasted almost three hours from 7:56 p.m. to 10:39 p.m.
An infrared image showed the three UAS off of the USS Paul Hamilton on July 17th, 2019. A 'swarm' of them hovered near the ship for several hours, in just one of the many occurrences Naval ships saw over the course of weeks
USS destroyers on patrol in July 2019 were suddenly swarmed by flashing, tic-toc shaped drones, which were able to travel long distance at high speeds
The USS Paul Hamilton (pictured) reported a 'swarm' of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) hovering near the ship on July 17th, in a series of several occurrence across many ships off the coast of California throughout the month of July 2019
The total number of UAS spotted by the Navy destroyer is unknown, due to abbreviated briefing slides, which were viewed by The Drive.
Three days earlier, the USS John Finn also spotted 'red flashing lights' off the starboard side of the ship and indicated that they had turned off their AIS system. The ship spotted two UAS at elevations of 1,000 and 1,500 feet.
One of the ships involved, the USS Omaha, released incomplete ship logs, The Drive reported.
According to The Drive, the Navy did conduct countermeasure drills later in the week and the Navy may have introduced portable counter-drone devices.
In April 2021, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday said the military had not been able to identify the aircrafts and the Department of Defense has since decline an answer thus far.
The drama began on the night of July 14, 2019. Deck logs from the USS Kidd show that just before 10pm that night, two drones were spotted.
An onboard intelligence crew responsible for documenting and investigating contact with unknown vessels - known as the Ship Nautical Or Otherwise Photographic Interpretation and Exploitation team, or SNOOPIE - was engaged to figure out who, or what, the mystery flying objects were.
The Navy unclassified documents, releasing to The Drive via FIOA request, the UAS movements off the USS Paul Hamilton
Within a few minutes of the sighting, reports show the USS Kidd moved into quiet mode, minimizing communications as it sought to work what the threat level was.
It contacted a nearby warship also on patrol, the USS Rafael Peralta, who also engaged their onboard photo intelligence team, or SNOOPIE.
Several other US Navy destroyers on patrol nearby began noticing strange lights.
The USS John Finn also reported UAV activity, and noticed a 'red flashing light' at 10.03pm, according to its logbook.
Just over an hour later at 11.23pm, the USS Rafael Peralta spotted a white light hovering over the flight deck.
The drone was able to remain hovering above the destroyer's helicopter landing pad while traveling at speeds of 16 knots and in low visibility.
The nearly 90-minute encounter was well beyond the capability of commercially-available drones.
The next night, the drones returned, this time as the warships were patrolling closer to the Californian mainland.
They were first spotted by the USS Rafael Peralta and the ship's SNOOPIE team was engaged at 8:39pm.
The Paul Hamilton's ship logs on July 16 do not indicate any activity from UAS
The USS John Finn noted a few days earlier that it noticed two UAS 1,000 feet and 1,500 feet above the ship that were equipped with 'red flashing lights'
At 8:56pm, logs show the USS Kidd had also come into contact with drones.
'The drones seem to have pursued the ships, even as they continued to maneuver throughout the incident,' The Drive reported.
Logbooks onboard the USS Russell show drones were swarming all over it, dipping in elevation from 1000 to 700 feet and seemingly able to move in any direction.
The USS Russell had separate contact with drones nine occasions in less than an hour.
Then at 9.20pm that night, the USS Kidd noticed 'multiple UAVs' around the ship.
The USS Rafael Peralta was also swarmed by as many as four drones. It was contacted by a passing cruise ship, the Carnival Imagination, to say they too had spotted up to six drones.
The three-hour frenzy of activity continued until close to midnight, with none of the warships able to say with certainty where the drones had come from.
The Navy's top commanders including the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and commander of the Pacific Fleet were notified.
The Los Angeles bureau of the FBI was also brought in to look at the incident.
The subsequent investigation found that just a handful of civilian ships were in the area at the time that could have been used as landing pads for the drones.
Investigators suspected the drones may have been launched from the ORV Alguita, a catamaran in the area.
Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday (pictured) said in April 2021 that the Navy has not been able to identify the UAS. Since then, the Department of Defense has declined to comment
And while the Alguita did have drones onboard, it was soon established its aircraft were not capable of such aeronautical feats.
Naval intelligence was brought in on the investigation and it was soon turning its glare inwards.
The area is home to a large US Naval Base on Sam Clemente Island, where sensitive training operations are often undertaken.
UFO Sightings by Canadian Commercial Pilots are Up and the Military and Government Take Notice
UFO Sightings by Canadian Commercial Pilots are Up and the Military and Government Take Notice
While all eyes will be on the U.S. congressional hearing on unidentified aerial vehiclesscheduled to be held in Washington D.C. next week, those looking for a good preparation would do well to look to the north to Canada, where CTVNews.ca revealed that the country’s then Minister of Defence received a briefing on UFOs back in June 2021—a briefing that the media has now made public which shows Canadian commercial pilots have had many UFO encounters and the Canadian military is serious about investigating them. Is Canada ahead of the U.S. in UFO research and disclosure?
“I believe it is prudent to request a full briefing for Minister Sajjan from the Canadian perspective on this issue.”
Harjit Sajjan is a former CAF lieutenant-colonel and the current minister of international development. In May 2021, Sajjan’s then chief of staff George Young saw the flurry of activity in the U.S. government surrounding military UFO reports and demanded a briefing be put together. CTVNews.ca recently obtained the briefing after numerous requests and found it reported there were about 1,000 UFO sightings annually in Canada. Commercial and military pilot sightings are made to the Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System (CADORS) which is available to the public. Canadians interested in UFO sightings by the general public can check with Ufology Research, the organization operated by prominent UFO researcher Chris Rutkowski. Rutkowski was involved in compiling data for the Defence Minister’s briefing (read it here), which included examples of unexplained UAPs in Canadian airspace.
Recent examples include:
- 23 December 2018 (Yarmouth, NS). Lights were reported by both a witness on land and one at sea. Three primary radar returns were recorded at the observed location.
- 9 May 2021 (Hudson Bay, SK). A Delta Air Lines Inc. Boeing 737-900 from Fairbanks, AK to Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN was cruising at 39,000 ft when the pilot asked ATC about traffic well above them and moving right to left.
In addition, the briefing revealed that the Defence Research Board (DRB) conducted research into reported flying saucers near North Bay, ON, in the 1950s, and responsibility for UFO reporting in the 1960s went to the National Research Council (NRC), which was supported by the RCMP. Rutkowski’s name figures prominently in the briefing – in 1995 the NRC and RCMP stopped their investigations and ‘Non-Meteoric Sightings’ reports switched to Rutkowski and the University of Manitoba, which to this day assists in archiving his Canadian UFO Survey files.
That 2021 Canadian briefing should be a template for the 2022 U.S briefing. It describes how the various organizations work together to share UAP data -- NAV Canada manages UAP-related reporting, CAF (via NORAD) monitors and tracks all air traffic approaching and traveling through North American airspace, reports of unidentifiable occurrences are done via a CIRVIS (Communications Instructions for Reporting Vital Intelligence Sightings) report directed to the nearest Air Traffic Control or Flight Information Centre, and CIRVIS reports related to UFO/UAP are directed to Chris Rutkowski. It sound like the Canadian government has a UFO reporting and investigation system in place and working well, doesn’t it?
Does Canada have any better UFO photos?
“We are long past the era of UFOs being a subject of ridicule. Well-trained observers have reported sightings of UFOs and UAP and there seems to be a renewed interest by both scientists and the military establishment in taking a closer look at this persistent phenomenon.”
Rutkowski thinks so, but opposition defence critic Kerry-Lynne Findlay told CTVNews.ca Canadians deserve more:
“We believe the government should adopt a streamlined, whole-of-government approach to standardize the collection of reports across numerous departments and contractors, such as NAV Canada. Efforts should be undertaken to investigate and make those findings public in a responsible manner.”
Again, this sounds like a perfect blueprint for the Pentagon’s investigations into UAPs and reporting the data and conclusions to Congress and the public. Let’s hope they follow it. Kudos are also in order for CTV News and its reporting team for doggedly pursuing and eventually obtaining the Sajjan briefing.

Delphos UFO Incident: A Flying Object, A Bright Light & An Unexplained Landing Ring On The Ground
Delphos UFO Incident: A Flying Object, A Bright Light & An Unexplained Landing Ring On The Ground
In 1971, 16-year-old Ronald Johnson claimed to witness a UFO landing on his family's farm in Delphos, Kansas. The markings left on the ground by the alleged craft have baffled researchers for decades.
The story of the Delphos UFO ring from 1971
A remarkable physical trace UFO incident took place near the tiny north-central Kansas town of Delphos on November 2, 1971.
At around 7 p.m. Ronald Johnson, 16, and his dog were tending sheep some 200 feet behind the family house when his mother, Erma Johnson, called him in for supper. He told her he would be finished soon. She and her husband Durel went ahead with the meal. When they had finished, Mrs Johnson called again for Ronald, but there was no response this time.
Ronne Johnson
According to what he would tell his parents, shortly after his mother called him the first time, Ronald heard a "rumbling" sound. Then he saw, 75 feet away, in a small grove of trees on the other (northwest) side of the shed - an object become suddenly illuminated with a mass of blue, red, and orange colours. Nine feet in diameter and 10 feet high, the object looked something like the head of a mushroom with a small, fat portion of a stem beneath it. It was hovering two feet above the ground, and the illumination flowed down to the ground.
The light was so bright that it hurt Ronald's eyes when he looked at it directly. The sheep were bellowing as if disturbed. After several minutes the glow at the base grew more intense, and the object took off at an angle, clearing by no more than four feet a shed attached to the sheep pen. The rumbling sound ceased, to be replaced by a high-pitched wail.
At that moment Ronald lost his sight. Now he could only hear the sound of the object as it moved off toward the south, passing by the house. In a few minutes, Ronald's eyes cleared, and he looked up to the sky and saw the object there. He rushed into the house to tell his parents who, though they saw he was scared and frightened, refused to believe him. Mr Johnson did go outside, however, where he saw a bright light - half the apparent size of the full moon - in the southern sky. Mrs Johnson and Ronald joined him, and the three watched the object, with the bluish-white colour of an "arc-welder", move off into the distance.
They went over to the site where the UFO had first appeared. In the darkness, they observed a glowing, gray-white circle. Parts of the trees near the circle were glowing as well. Mr and Mrs Johnson placed their hands inside the circle and found that the soil was not warm, as they had expected it to be. It felt, however, as if it had been crystallized. Even more weirdly, the couple's fingers became numb. When Mrs Johnson tried to rub off the soil residue on her leg, the part of the leg she touched also went numb. The condition persisted for several weeks afterwards, according to her. Unfortunately, neither she nor her husband sought medical attention.
Mr Johnson retrieved a camera and took a picture of the circle and its surrounding environment. He then phoned Willard Critchfield, editor of the Delphos Republican. It was now 8 p.m.
Photo taken by the Johnsons approximately ten minutes after the alleged UFO landing
Investigations Into The Delphos UFO
Editor Critchfield did nothing about the call, so the next day Durel and Ronald Johnson drove into town to speak with Thaddia Smith, a Republican reporter. She, her husband, and her son-in-law accompanied the Johnsons to the farm. That afternoon she provided a statement to Ottawa County Sheriff Ralph Enlow. This is what Smith saw when she got there:
"The circle was still very distinct and plain to see. The soil was dried and crusted. The circle or ring was approximately 8 feet across, the center of the ring and outside area were still muddy from recent rains. The area of the ring that was dried was about a foot across and was very light in color.
The object had crushed a dead tree to the ground either when it landed or when it took off, and from appearance had broken a limb of a live tree when it landed. The broken limb was most unusual, it would snap and break as though it had been dead for quite some time, yet it was green under the bark, and the upper area still had green leaves clinging to its branches. However, the lower area was free of all leaves and some of the bark on the lower areas looked as though it had been blistered and had a whitish cast."
Having been alerted by a phone call from Smith, Sheriff Enlow, Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Kenneth Yager, and Undersheriff Harlan Enlow drove to the Johnson farm at 2 p.m. that day and interviewed the three. In his official report Undersheriff Enlow wrote:
"Mr Johnson took us out behind the hog house where we observed a ring shaped somewhat like a doughnut with a hole in the middle. The ring was completely dry with the hole in the middle and outside of the ring mud. There were limbs broken from a tree and a dead tree broken off, there. There was a slight discoloration on the trees. We were given a picture taken the previous evening which showed that the ring glowed in the dark. Undersheriff Enlow took a soil sample from the dried ring and photographed it.
The soil sample taken was almost white in color and very dry. We used a Civil Defense Radiological Monitor to determine that the soil was not radioactive. The soil sample and photographs are stored in the vault in the Sheriff's Office pending further investigation by the proper authorities."
On November 3, 1971, Mr Lester Ernsbarger of 416 Argyle Street in Minneapolis (11 miles south of Delphos) advised Deputy Sheriff Leonard Simpson that at approximately 7.30 p.m. the previous night (the same night as Ronald Johnson's sighting) he had observed a bright light descending in the sky in the Delphos area.
Delphos ring a little over 3 years after the incident
On December 4, Ted Phillips, a Missouri-based UFO investigator who specialized in physical-trace cases, met Sheriff Enlow in the latter's Minneapolis office. The sheriff gave Phillips a soil sample he had taken the day after the sighting. Then they went to the Johnson farm.
Evidence of the incident was still to be seen. According to Phillips:
"As we approached the site we walked around a small shed and through scattered trees. To my amazement there was the ring, with snow melting from the ground in all the surrounding area, still to be seen after 32 days. It was perfectly outlined in the unmelted snow. Although the surrounding soil was extremely moist, we found that if the snow was removed from any portion of the ring the soil directly beneath the snow was dry and light brown in color, in contrast with the black, moist soil in the ring center and around the ring.
We removed snow from one section of the ring and introduced water into the exposed ring area: the soil would not permit the water to pass through the surface. This was most remarkable, as there had been several inches of rain and snow between November 2 and December 4.
Mr Johnson and I next removed a sample from the ring. The sample contained a high concentration of a white substance, and this white material was evident in all of the ring soil that we exposed. The particles were not to be found in the soil in the center of the ring, or in the surrounding soil. The ring soil was quite dry to a depth of at least twelve inches. The soil outside the ring was also sampled and was simply black and wet to a depth of at least eight inches. I cannot imagine soil exposed to the elements remaining so dry for such a long period of time."
Phillips made a second trip to the area on January 11, 1972. He discussed the possibility of a hoax with the sheriff and Thaddia Smith. Both discounted the idea. The sheriff called the Johnsons "well known and well respected," Smith agreed.
Seven separate soil analyses conducted by a university and other laboratories sought to compare control samples with samples taken from within the ring. The latter was found not to absorb water, had a higher acid content, and contained soluble salts as well as two to two and a half times more calcium. They also produced less seed growth and were coated with a hydrocarbon of low molecular weight that various analysts were able to remove only by heating to 100 degrees C, or washing with ethyl alcohol. Embedded in the ring soil samples was a second unusual organic material of higher molecular weight. This second substance was composed of white, crystal-like fibers. In other words, the results of the tests performed at the time were interesting but inconclusive, leaving several mysteries in their wake. "There seems to be," scientist Michael D Swords writes, "no question that the surface soil was hydrophobic (resistant to water), luminescent, and anesthetic, but to what this can be attributed is still unknown."
In the late 1980s British chemist, Erol A Faruk conducted his own independent analyses of Delphos samples. He concluded that probably something unusual and potentially significant had occurred:
"I would say that the data presented in this research do not lead to a definitive view on the origin of the Delphos ring. I would, however, still maintain that: (1) a simple hoax (as was proposed by debunker Philip J Klass) is almost certainly ruled out by the soil chemistry; (2) a fungal fairy-ring hypothesis (suggested as an explanation by some skeptics) leaves many questions unanswered; and (3) the model developed from the ring soil chemistry, and from characteristics that support the sighting of an unconventional aerial object, is the most tenable explanation for the ring - despite its implications."

Another fascinating UFO encounter that still remains a mystery over 40 years later. Let us know your thoughts on the Delphos UFO ring in the comments section below.
Hey all, how's it going? Covid is getting a little nuts here in Taiwan, in two weeks it went from 50 local cases a day to 15,000 per day. Its Omicron stealth so its less dangerous, but still irritating. Its the first time covid ever got out of control here.
So anyways, I have been receiving messages on Twitter, IG, FB and more about UFOs. People keep telling me that UFOs don't make clouds. I'm not sure why they limit the abilities of alien tech when its so advanced it can nearly do anything? So I made these two videos. The first video is a minute and a half, showing only the UFO in Chile making a cloud to distract the Navy helicopter...an attempt to see if the aliens are underestimating the humans abilities to track them or not. The aliens quickly found out...they were visible to the helicopters. This seemed to intrigue the aliens, so the stuck around for a little over ten minutes. The second video shows the full Chile Navy released raw footage of the UFO. You can see the UFO make the trail in both infrared and in normal color, however the UFO is almost invisible except a white spot reflecting the clouds color below it. So, not only does this footage confirm UFOs can make clouds, but it also confirms infrared video can cut through the alien crafts cloaking devices allowing us to see them. It also confirms that aliens enjoy testing us...with or without us knowing it.

STRANGE NEW DISCOVERY IN DALNEGORSK (RUSSIA’S ROSWELL)
STRANGE NEW DISCOVERY IN DALNEGORSK (RUSSIA’S ROSWELL)
...Those who follow my research know about the Dalnegorsk Crash of 1986, when a possible UFO-or a very strange advanced terrestrial apparatus-crashed in the Soviet Far East mining town... But just a few days ago, more interesting news arrived from Dalnegorsk...
In a video captured by the US Navy, an unidentified flying object is seen dancing across the screen before crashing into the ocean, capturing the imagination of UFO hunters everywhere. There is currently little information about the object except that the Pentagon has confirmed the footage is authentic, and now the video has now been made available online by a UFO documentarian.
“The US Navy photographed and filmed “spherical” shaped UFOs and advanced transmedium vehicles; here is some of that footage.” states filmmaker Jeremy Corbell on his website, where he has shared the clip and details of the object.

According to Corbell, the video was captured 2 years ago, in 2019, but has since been made available to the public. It is thought to have originated from within the USS Omaha's Combat Information Center while sailing off the coast of San Diego, although this is unconfirmed.
Although the video is short, it appears the object is capable of traveling through both air and water, making it more advanced in transmedium travel than any known vehicles, military or otherwise. The object itself is incredibly small, radar imaging shows a solid ball measuring just 2 meters (6 feet) in diameter. However, it appears fast, reaching speeds of up to 254 kilometers per hour (158 miles per hour) during its air flight.
A search was performed using a submarine shortly after it was spotted, but the object was long gone.
Currently, there is no known vehicle that can fly through the air for an extended period of time and then transition into water and continue traveling. Throughout the 1900s, the concept of a flying submarine was explored, but significant challenges in air supply and fuel made the idea never quite take off. In 2008, the US prepared to issue contracts for a flying submersible vehicle, but after Lockheed Martin canceled their plans for a submersible drone, it appears the contracts never materialized.
In a recent podcast appearance, former U.S. Army Counterintelligence Special Agent, UFO advocate, and media personality Luis Elizondo explained his reasoning behind claiming that UFO mysteries have made him “somber.” His speculative ideas are straight out of middle 20th-century science fiction, particularly the so-called “zoo hypothesis” that appeared in a number of stories at that time, imagining that Earth was essentially a zoo run by space aliens.
Luis Elizondo ran the secret UFO investigation program known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATI) from 2007 to 2012 funded by the US government who spent $22 million from the $600 billion annual Defense Department budget.
Here is the transcribe of Elizondo’s comment on the zoo hypothesis:
“What if it turns out that there’s another species that is even higher on that ladder than we are? Do we need the social institutions that we have today, do we need government and religious organizations that we have today, if it turns out that there is something else or someone else that is technologically more advanced and, perhaps from an evolutionary perspective, more advanced? Have we been wasting our time all this time? Or are we doing exactly as we are supposed to be doing? [What] if it turns out that mankind is in fact just another animal in the zoo? If we saw ourselves as the zookeeper before, maybe we’re just another exhibit inside the zoo? What would that mean to us? So, when I say ‘somber’ or ‘sobering’, I mean there’s going to come a point in this conversation when we’re going to have to do a lot of reconciling with ourselves, whatever that means, from whatever philosophical background you have. This is going to impact every single one of us. And I think that’s important. Do we find ourselves in a situation that history may have to be rewritten? So that’s what I meant.”
This is an outgrowth of Charles Fort‘s claim that some non-human intelligence essentially operates Earth as a prison or an ant farm to watch us, and it is the basis for the “prison planet” claims of some contemporary ancient astronaut theorists. He was also perhaps the first person to explain strange human appearances and disappearances by the hypothesis of alien abduction, and was an early proponent of the extraterrestrial hypothesis, specifically suggesting that strange lights or objects sighted in the skies might be alien spacecraft.

Note: the distinct echo of Christian millenarianism in Elizondo’s suggestion that the existence of aliens would require an overthrow of social, political, and cultural structures in favor of a new, more utopian world submissive to a superior heavenly power. It is difficult not to see his imagined Disclosure as the Christian Apocalypse of Revelation recast in secular, pseudoscientific terms.
A similar hypothesis can also be seen in the case of Matilda O’Donnell McElroy, Senior Master Sergeant Women’s Army Air Force Medical Corp. She claimed to have interviewed an alien named “Airl” who supposedly survived the 1947 Roswell crash. The entity told her where they had come from and why they came to the Earth. (Click here to read full information)
The author of the book Alien Interview, Lawrence R. Spencer claimed to have received a letter from Matilda where she disclosed information about the series of interviews with Airl. She wrote that the Domain Expeditionary Force, a race of beings, had been conducting operations in the solar system for the past 10,000 years and using the asteroid belt as an intergalactic base.
In the letter, MacElroy wrote: “Mankind needs to know the answers to questions which are contained in these documents: Who are we? Where did we come from? What is our purpose on Earth? If there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe why have they not contacted us? It is vital that people understand the devastating consequences to our physical and spiritual survival if we fail to take effective action to undo the long-standing and pervasive effects of alien intervention on Earth.”
Matilda O’Donnell McElroy
In her footnotes, Matilda wrote:
“Earth is a small planet of a rim star of a galaxy. This makes Earth very isolated geographically from the more concentrated planetary civilizations which exist toward the center of the galaxy. These obvious facts have made Earth suitable for use only as a zoological or botanical garden, or for it’s current use as a prison – but not much else.
Before 30,000 BCE — Earth started being used as a dumping ground and prison for IS-BEs who were judged untouchable, meaning criminal or non-conformists. IS-BEs were captured, encapsulated in electronic traps, and transported to Earth from various parts of the “Old Empire”. Underground amnesia stations were set up on Mars and on Earth in the Rwenzori Mountains in Africa, in the Pyrenees Mountains of Portugal, and in steppes of Mongolia.”
In 2009, a short CGI film, “The ex-Esma 2008” was released on YouTube by ESMA movies, in which a playful child (alien) with deviant behavior was turned into a human and exiled to Earth by ETs after he disturbed the peace on their planet.
The video has a strange concept but somehow, it is similar to what Elizondo, Charles Fort & Matilda said about Earth as a prison for I BEs who were sent here, encapsulated in electronic traps.
The increasing demand to declassify UFO files has brought an immense amount of queries to UFO enthusiasts. From the recent Pentagon documents, it became known that the sightings left victims with serious health problems such as radiation burns, nerve damage, and feelings of electric shock. The same information was also shared by Dr. Gary Nolan, who said that the victims (mostly defense or governmental personnel or people working in the aerospace industry) got damaged or hurt such as buzz noises in their head, got sick, etc. Following these incidents, astronomer Jacques Vallée developed an alternative hypothesis that UFOs are part of a mechanism for controlling mankind.
In the 60 years of the UFO phenomenon in the United States, Dr. Jacques Vallée studied the nature of flying saucers very closely. He is one of the few researchers who analyzed the UFO activities, including its material. He collected UFO debris from several UFO crashes, examined them in the lab, and found out that they had not been made on Earth.
Dr. Jacques Vallée was born in France. He finished his M.S. in astrophysics at Lille University. Later, he went to the United States and did his Ph.D. in computer science at Northwestern University. He was also the senior researcher at the DARPA-funded Augmentation Research Center at SRI.

Dr. Jacques Vallée is one of the few people who added credibility to the Ufology. When others called the UFO encounters a hoax, Vallée explained it scientifically. During his interview in 1986, he said that UFOs are a “physical object that interacts with the environment that causes effects on the witnesses on the psychology and the physiology and leaves traces on the ground and yet are capable of appeared to be manipulating time and space in ways that go beyond what our physics understands.”
While working on the French Space Committee, Dr. Vallée claimed to have witnessed his superiors destroy tracking tapes of a UFO that his team had observed. This, along with a personal UFO sighting several years earlier, created his lifelong interest in UFOs. Initially falling in line with the Extraterrestrial hypothesis, he soon began to realize its serious flaws, namely:
Unexplained close encounters are far more numerous than required for any physical survey of the earth;
The humanoid body structure of the alleged “aliens” is not likely to have originated on another planet and is not biologically adapted to space travel;
The reported behavior in thousands of abduction reports contradicts the hypothesis of genetic or scientific experimentation on humans by an advanced race;
The extension of the phenomenon throughout recorded human history demonstrates that UFOs are not a contemporary phenomenon;
The apparent ability of UFOs to manipulate space and time suggests radically different and richer alternatives.
According to Dr. Vallée, the basic idea is that UFOs are essentially a “show” put on for people to generate some sort of reaction, and have been operating on human culture for all of recorded history. Other researchers have commented on this idea as well, pointing out that:
UFOs and “aliens” are extremely similar to “trickster” creatures in many mythologies;
UFO encounters contain “absurd” elements that make them unbelievable as actual scientific surveys, but leave behind physical evidence that implies the encounter actually took place;
UFO encounters often appear to “tease” observers, including the authorities, allowing themselves to be observed and recorded, but always staying on the edge of observability (as if the encounter’s sole purpose was simply to make sure people saw a UFO);
Related to 3, many of the supposed occupants of UFOs conform to what society says an alien should look like, with UFO interiors looking like what science fiction says space ships should look like (as if they are somehow “movie sets”);
The tendency for UFOs and their occupants to materialize from nowhere and disappear instantaneously implies they may be some sort of illusion or “projection;
Quite often, there is no reason to think that a UFO and its anomalous occupant is extraterrestrial, people just assume that they are;
UFO “flaps” (clusters of sightings) are similar to a “schedule of reinforcement” or educational schedule as if they are meant to reinforce belief in their existence.
Dr. Vallée argued that when investigating a UFO encounter, the focus should be on the witness, and how he/she interpreted the event, and how it affected their life (he noted that many people tend to emotionally react to a UFO sighting as a spiritual or religious experience).
Dr. Jacques Vallée with the UFOs metal samples which he found during his investigation into different UFO cases.
Understanding what the apparently intended effect of the encounter is on the witness is the key to understanding the phenomena, as trying to investigate the UFO as a nuts-and-bolts craft is futile because they are simply contrivances. He also thinks that the next step to understanding UFOs is to somehow try to interfere with the experiment, and see how the phenomena react.
The recently published book “Skinwalkers at The Pentagon” talks about the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP), which was a continuation of AATIP. In the book, the researchers explain how this phenomenon has been documented with much evidence that the “phenomena” infect humans.
The AAWSAP investigated UFO sightings, analyzed UFO incursions on US military bases, and studied many strange phenomena that government investigators encountered at Skinwalker Ranch.
Encountering UFOs often resulted in “attaching” strange phenomena to military personnel who visited the ranch and brought “something” home to their families, resulting in frightening paranormal outbreaks in their families that terrorized and sometimes injured their children.
In evaluating Dr. Vallee’s control system hypothesis, the obvious questions are: who or what is in charge and managing it? If something is non-human, then what? Where is the real evidence for this idea, other than that some of Vallee’s carefully selected cases can be made (with difficulty) to force-fit the theory? Most people care little about UFOs and have no interest in the subject, so how does this theory stand up?
In November 2019, during a NASA live stream, the International Space Station (ISS) captured footage of three different UFOs, where a Russian cosmonaut was heard saying “it’s a ship.” According to UFO researcher and self-proclaimed extraterrestrial life expert Scott Waring, NASA is aware of the alien spacecraftflying near the ISS.

Waring shared the clip on his YouTube channel and wrote in hisblog:
“This conversation recorded from the NASA live cam is100% proof that NASA knows about alien craft buzzing past and around the space station. When the Russian astronaut aboard the ISS said, “a ship…” The NASA ground control cut him off and said, “Copy all,” before he could finish what he was saying. She already saw it on live cam at ground control. She reacted fast, before he could talk about it too much…but he already said the most important thing he could…”a ship!” You see, even he knew it was an alien ship off the bow of the ISS. Eventually going to a red screen with no cam.
Also, did you notice the video was clear, but when the UFOs appeared…it caused a disturbance in the tech and made the video fuzzy. UFOs are known to cause electrical disturbances and to even shut down cars, trucks and watches.
So…here is 100% proof that NASA and Russia know that aliens frequently visit the space station.”
On May 18, 2020, Waring noticed that the ISS camera again captured the moment when thousands of UFOs were leaving the Earth from outer space while the ISS was between the light and dark sides of the Earth.
Waring believed the UFOs were alien in nature.
Thousands Of Alien Spaceships Evacuating
Mr. Waring said: “A few days ago a fleet of glowing UFOs was seen on the live NASA space station cam. The UFOs were pulsing and throwing as they moved forward… each at different speeds.”
We are unlikely to know whether some cataclysms are coming or the planet is threatened by something more serious. But watching what is happening right in front of our eyes is incredibly interesting.”
Then, in August 2020, another Russian cosmonaut named Ivan Vagner captured something spectacular while filming a time-lapse video of southern lights. He claimed to have captured footage of five UFOs while being on the International Space Station.
Russian astronaut Ivan Vagner shared footage of 5 UFOs taken from the ISS on his Twitter handle in August 2020
Vagner tweeted:
“Space guests, or how I filmed the new time-lapse.
The peak of aurora borealis when passing over the Antarctic in Australia’s longitude, meaning in between them. However, in the video, you will see something else, not only the aurora.”
In his tweet, he also shared a video where he said that “At 9-12 seconds, five objects appear flying alongside with the same distance.”
On October 14, 2020, during the docking of the Russian Soyuz MS-17 capsule at the ISS, many viewers spotted a mysterious white bright object spinning above the Earth. But the object was cut off the screen by zooming the camera.

One viewer said: “UFO leaving Earth at 2:35 and then they zoom in.” On the other hand, some believed it was just a part of the detachment of the rocket capsule.
