January 20 1988 was the day that the Knowles family and their two dogs had an unexplainable experience whilst travelling across the Nullarbor Plain in the early hours of the morning.

At about 4.00am, Faye Knowles and her sons Patrick, 24, Sean, 21, and Wayne 18 were between Madura and Mundrabilla with Sean driving and Patrick next to him in the front seat when a bright light was seen ahead of them. Sean thought the light strange and asked his brother if he thought it was a spaceship. This idea was rejected by his brother, but Sean’s interest was piqued and he sped the car up in order to catch up to the object and get a closer look. At about 20 metres from the object the family say they were confronted with a white blinding light that moved along in front of their moving vehicle. It was about 1 metre wide and described as a slightly angular egg in an egg-cup shape with a yellow centre. The object, which at first appeared to be either on the ground or immediately above it then began to move back and forth. Sean swerved the car to the opposite side of the road to avoid a collision with the object, but then nearly collided with a station wagon towing a caravan coming in the other direction. (The occupants of this second car have never come forward) The object then circled around to the right side of their car and appeared to give chase to the second vehicle towing the caravan. The Knowles made at 2 u-turns at this point, the first to give chase to the object, and the second to abandon this idea as they had grown frightened. They had at this point gained the idea that the object was after them.

At some point the family felt that the UFO had returned and had landed on their vehicle. They heard a clunking sound and felt that the car was being pushed down by a weight that rested on top of it.

By now the family was understandably frightened, and the following events are difficult to unravel in retrospect. The family believed that the car was lifted above the road, though none of them were able to estimate for how long or how high. Mrs Knowles wound down a rear window and reached for the roof. She felt something soft and rubbery that was hot but did not burn her hand, and when she brought her hand back into the car she found it covered in a blackish dust. This event caused a panic in the rest of the family. Patrick wound down his window, only to be covered in the fine dust, which was accompanied by a foul smell that was likened to dead bodies. A high-pitched sound was then heard, which sent the dogs into a frenzy. The family became disoriented and felt that their voices had become slower, and lower in pitch. They believed at this point that they were going to die. Patrick said that he felt that his ‘brain was being sucked out’, and Mrs Knowles likened it to having something ‘going into our heads’.

A while later, the family felt the car forced back down onto the road, bursting the rear right tyre. Sean brought the car to a sudden stop and then blacked out. The family left the car hurriedly and hid in some bushes by the side of the road. They remained there for 15 minutes before changing the tyre and continuing on to the nearest town.

Unknown to the Knowles’, a truck driver, Mr Graham Henley also saw, at the same time and in the same area, a strange light in his rear view mirror. He described as being like a strong spotlight and like a ‘big fried egg hung upside down”. He kept the object in view for 5 minutes and did not see any car headlights beneath it. Shortly after Henley pulled into Mundrabilla, he saw the Knowles’ car arrive, and was confronted by the frightened family all trying to describe their experience. He looked over their car and confirmed the presence of black ash in various areas, both inside and on the exterior of the vehicle, and likened it to fine silicon sand with a burnt odour to it. He also noted four indents in the roof of the car and the damaged tyre. Henley and two of his friends also surveyed the scene of the incident, finding skid marks, footprints and tread tracks that they felt confirmed the Knowles account of their incident.

The family had by this time arrived at Ceduna and been interviewed by the police there, who confirmed that the family were visibly shaken. They also reconfirmed the presence of the four dents and the fine dust. UFO Research South Australia was contacted and arrangements were made for the Knowles’ to continue to Adelaide for further investigation. Keith Basterfield was at this stage brought into the investigation, and he stated that it “appeared to be an extraordinary example of a close encounter that had left physical traces.” However, owing to the story reaching the media, serious investigation became obstructed by chequebook journalism, with investigators needing to mediate with a television station to be able to talk to the Knowles’. The TV station did, however, commission a laboratory investigation of the vehicle, which concluded that ‘no significant dust was observed on the vehicle as presented for inspection’. Ufo researchers did manage to obtain samples themselves, which they forwarded to Dr Richard Haines, a NASA scientist at the time, who concluded that the dust taken from the interior of the car was different to the dust sampled from the exterior. Further tests by different analysts have provided no evidence of it being alien or unusual.

Unfortunately none of this is conclusive. There were other UFO reports in the same area at the same time, which tends to imply that something unusual occurred. The only conclusion we can safely come to though, is that something happened, and that the family witnessed an unusual light and were extremely frightened by its effects. All we have is an interesting story, and still no clear idea of exactly what happened.

Having shared with you the story of how and why the FBI took an interest in the antics of Contactee George Adamski, I thought I would give you the story of how the FBI took interest in another famous Contactee, George Van Tassel. Born on 12 March 1910 in Jefferson County, Ohio, George Wellington Van Tassel maintained that he experienced face-to-face contact with very human-looking alien entities following a claimed encounter in August 1953 near his Yucca Valley home in California. The complete history of Van Tassel’s exploits with apparent extraterrestrials is highly bizarre, involving weird accounts of meetings with imaginatively named aliens, including Numa of Uni; Ah-Ming of Tarr; Rondolla of the Fourth Density; and Zolton, the Highest Authority in the Sector System of Vela. According to the now-declassified records of the FBI on Van Tassel, before moving to Yucca Valley in 1947, he was employed by the Douglas Aircraft Corporation in Santa Monica; and Hughes Aircraft, where he worked in an assistant capacity to Howard Hughes. He also worked – the FBI learned – for both Universal Airlines and Lockheed. Exactly what it was that prompted Van Tassel to uproot his family and transfer them to Yucca Valley is something now lost to history. However, along with his wife and children, Van Tassel soon settled into his new surroundings: his famous (or perhaps infamous would be a better description!) cave under Giant Rock – an area leased from the Government.

The image of a 20^th Century family living in a cave situated beneath a sixty-foot-high rock, twenty-eight miles from Joshua Tree, California, cannot fail to conjure up the scenario of a prehistoric family struggling to live in less-than-friendly conditions. Always resourceful, however, the Van Tassels soon began to earn a comfortable living from an airstrip they rented – the Giant Rock Airport – and a small restaurant. As time passed, Van Tassel began to improve the family’s living facilities and the cave became a friendly environment. Fully furnished, it was equipped with electricity, had its own supply of water, a large library, and, as the journalist Ed Ritter noted in 1954, “a comfortable living room where [Van Tassel] studies and entertains guests.”

As a result of his alleged August 1953 encounter, Van Tassel compiled the first issue of what he titled The Proceedings of the College of Universal Wisdom, a small journal that served as a mouthpiece for not only Van Tassel but for his supposed cosmic friends, too. In the first issue, Desca, like Rondolla, also of the Fourth Density, urged Van Tassel’s followers (whose number would very quickly reach four figures) to “remove the binding chains of limit on your minds, throw out the barriers of fear [and] dissipate the selfishness of individual desire to attain physical and material things.” In the edition of the Proceedings dated 1 December 1953, Van Tassel stated that, less than a month previously, a “message was received from the beings who operate the spacecraft,” with orders from Ashtar, “the Commandant of Space Station Schare” (pronounced Share-ee) to contact the office of Air Force Intelligence at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio. Van Tassel went on to advise the Air Force that: “The present destructive plans formulated for offensive and defensive war are known to us in their entirety…the present trend toward destructive war will not be interfered with by us, unless the condition warrants our interference in order to secure this solar system. This is a friendly warning.”

Were Van Tassel’s contacts genuinely of unearthly origin? Were they the rants of a sadly deluded mind? Or were they possibly a part of a sophisticated Communist-inspired intelligence operation designed to disrupt the internal security of the United States? This third possibility was definitely of concern to a Yucca Valley resident who on 5 August 1954, wrote to the FBI suggesting that Van Tassel be investigated to determine if he was working as a Soviet spy. Seriously concerned that Van Tassel was either a witting or an unwitting player in an ingenious, but subversive, Communist plot, the FBI sought to ascertain the full picture. On 12 November 1954, Major S. Avner of the Air Force’s Office of Special Investigations met with N. W. Philcox – who was the FBI’s point of liaison with the Air Force – to discuss the growing controversy surrounding Van Tassel. Three days later, Avner re-established contact with Philcox, and advised him that the Air Technical Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base “has information on Van Tassel indicating that he has corresponded with them regarding flying saucers.”

Very probably this was a reference to the letter that Van Tassel wrote to ATIC at the request of the mysterious Ashtar, who had offered a “friendly warning” with respect to plans formulated for offensive and defensive war. As a result, and not surprisingly, the Air Force offered, “to furnish the Bureau with more detailed information.” One day after Major Avner of AFOSI spoke with Philcox, two Special Agents of the Los Angeles FBI office met with Van Tassel at his Giant Rock home. In a memorandum to FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover dated 16 November 1954, the agents wrote: “Relative to spacemen and space craft, VAN TASSEL declared that a year ago last August, while sleeping out of doors with his wife in the Giant Rock area, and at about 2.00 a.m. he was awakened by a man from space. This individual spoke English and was dressed in a grey one-piece suit similar to a sweat suit in that it did not have any buttons, pockets, and noticeable seams. This person, according to VAN TASSEL, invited him to inspect a spacecraft or flying saucer, which had landed on Giant Rock airstrip. VAN TASSEL claimed the craft was bell shaped resembling a saucer. He further described the ship as approximately 35 feet in diameter and is now known as the scout type craft. Aboard this craft was located three other male individuals wearing the same type of dress and identical in every respect with earth people.”

The FBI continued: “VAN TASSEL claims that the three individuals aboard the craft were mutes in that they could not talk. He claimed they conversed through thought transfers, and also operated the flight of the craft through thought control. He stated that the spokesman for the group claimed he could talk because he was trained by his family to speak. The spokesman stated that earthmen are using too much metal in their everyday work and are fouling up radio frequencies and thought transfers because of this over use of metal. According to VAN TASSEL, these individuals came from Venus and are by no means hostile nor do they intend to harm this country or inhabitants in any manner. He declared they did not carry weapons, and the spacecraft was not armed. He mentioned that a field of force was located around the spacecraft which would prohibit anything known to earth men to penetrate. VAN TASSEL claims this craft departed from the earth after 20 minutes and has not been taken back since.”

Van Tassel added that, “through thought transfers with space men,” he had been able to ascertain that a third world war was on the horizon, which was likely to be “large” and “destructive;” that much of this correlated directly with certain biblical passages; that the war would not be “universal;” and that the “space people are peace loving and under no circumstances would enter or provoke a war.” And to illustrate their benevolence towards humankind, the aliens, Van Tassel told his FBI visitors, had bestowed upon him some remarkable data, including information relating to the way in which the human lifespan could be extended to anywhere between three hundred and fifteen hundred years. “This principle was not developed by Van Tassel,” said the FBI. Van Tassel then described his newsletter to the FBI agents, as J. Edgar Hoover was informed:

“In connection with his metaphysical religion and research, he publishes bi-monthly a publication in the form of a booklet called PROCEEDINGS OF THE COLLEGE OF UNIVERSAL WISDOM, YUCCA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA. He declared this publication is free and has grown from an original mailing list of 250 to 1,000 copies. VAN TASSEL stated that he sends his publication to various individuals, Universities, and Government Agencies throughout the world. He declared this publication is forwarded to the Federal Bureau of Investigation at Washington, D.C. He stated that he has donated 10 acres of his ranch holdings to the college. He mentioned that many of the buildings will be made free of metal; which will be keeping within the request of the spacemen.”

Particularly eye opening was the FBI’s concern about who was funding Van Tassel’s operations, on what was certainly a large scale: “[Van Tassel] declared that for the most part he secures money for his needs of life, for the furtherance of his religion, research, and college through the generosity of certain individuals, number about 100. He failed to identify any of these people. He also mentioned that he derives income from his airstrip and a very small restaurant which is located at Giant Rock. VAN TASSEL voluntarily stated that he is not hiding anything nor is he doing anything against the laws of this country in his research at Giant Rock. He voluntarily mentioned that he is a loyal American and would be available at any time to assist the Bureau. VAN TASSEL did not volunteer the names of any individuals whom he was soliciting for funds except his statement above that he sent his publications to various individuals, universities and Government agencies and also the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC.”

At the conclusion of the interview, the two agents secured copies of Van Tassel’s Proceedings that were then forwarded to Washington for study and became the subject of a confidential report, that in part stated: “One of the pamphlets contains an article by Van Tassel claiming that Jesus Christ was born of space men and that the Star of Bethlehem was a space craft that stood by while Jesus was born.” As a result of his growing reputation as someone with detailed knowledge of alien intelligence, Van Tassel became increasingly in demand on the lecture circuit, where he espoused at length on his dealings with extraterrestrials, their intentions for the human race, and their overall philosophy. On 17 April 1960, Van Tassel gave a lengthy speech at the Phipps Auditorium, Denver, Colorado, having been invited by the Denver Unidentified Flying Objects Investigative Society. To ensure that the lecture was a success, the society took out advertising time on local radio, that caught the attention of the Denver FBI, who subsequently directed a special agent to attend and report back the details of Van Tassel’s talk, which he did and in great detail:  “The program consisted of a 45 minute movie which included several shots of things purported to be flying saucers, and then a number of interviews with people from all walks of life regarding sightings they had made of such unidentified flying objects. After the movie GEORGE W. VAN TASSEL gave a lecture which was more of a religious-economics lecture than one of unidentified flying objects.”

From then on, Van Tassel was only watched on a few occasions – and in relation to matters of no particular interest. He died in 1978.

Alien abduction cases have become so numerous that it is hard to even keep track of them anymore. Many of them follow the same beats as well, which can cause the effect of melding them all together until one doesn’t know which one is which. Yet, there are some that stand tall above the crowd in their sheer, absurd bizarreness, and that is what we are here to look at. There are not many alien abduction cases that come away with hard evidence, but here we have one that not only produced evidence, but allegedly also a sample of alien DNA. Down the rabbit hole we go.

The man known as Peter Khoury came from Lebanon to Australia with his family in 1973, and he at the time already had experience with strange UFO phenomena. In 1971, he had had his first encounter back in his home country at the age of 7, on a seemingly normal day when he was out playing with some other children. According to him, at some point he had noticed that the other kids had become somewhat frozen in time, like insects in amber or statues, and above them there had been hovering a mysterious egg-shaped craft. These kids would later wake from their frozen status with no memory of what had happened, leaving Khoury as the only witness to the whole outlandish thing. The incident would hang in the back of his mind for years, and it would seem that this would not be the last of his strange UFO experiences.

By 1981, Khoury had fully adjusted to his new life in Australia and had met his future wife, Vivian. The two dated for years, eventually marrying in 1990, but it was in 1988 that they would have a very bizarre shared experience of seeing a UFO, but it would get weirder. He claims that on the evening of July 12 of that year he had been lying in bed with Vivian and woke up with the sensation that someone was grabbing his ankles, after which he was suddenly paralyzed and unable to move. He then saw four dwarf-like hooded entities enter the room, accompanied by a taller creature with golden skin and oversized black eyes, this latter one approaching him to stick a needle right into his head. As the entity did this, it assured him that it would be “just like last time” and told him not to panic. Throughout it all, Vivian remained totally asleep and oblivious to it all. Khoury then lost consciousness.

The next morning, Khoury told his wife what had happened, and examining his head she found a spot of blood and puncture mark that corroborated his wild tale. It seems as if he was very confused at the time, having no knowledge of the greater phenomena of alien abductions and so unable to come to terms with what was happening to him. This was the main thrust that pushed him into the UFO field, even inspiring to start his own contactee support group called the UFO Experience Support Association. However, for as bizarre as this all was, it was nothing compared to what was in store for him.

One evening in 1992, Khoury came home and lay down, as he was not feeling well in the wake of an injury he had sustained at work. He drifted off to sleep but was jolted awake to find two women sitting on the edge of his bed, one Nordic in appearance, one Asian, and both with oversized eyes, impossibly chiseled features, and incidentally both completely naked. The Nordic woman then apparently grabbed Khoury and pulled his face to her breast, and in his panic he bit her, taking off a piece of her nipple in the process, but this caused no bleeding or reaction of pain from the woman. She merely stopped her assault and the two women sat there watching Khoury as he experienced an intense coughing fit. He doubled over coughing, and at some point realized that the two women were now gone. Khoury then went into the bathroom coughing uncontrollably, and it was there where he would realize that he had the overwhelming desire to urinate, which was painful and as he did so noticing that there were some blonde hairs wrapped around below down there. This was incredibly odd, as there was no way they should have been there, so he saved them in a plastic bag, convinced they must have come from the blonde stranger, who he was starting to think had not been totally human. So far so weird, but it gets even weirder. All of this came to the attention of Australian ufologist Bill Chalker, who had a look at the hair himself and decided to pursue genetic testing on it with a group of scientists and forensic investigators. Chalker would say of the enigmatic hair:

I began an investigation into the hair sample, when biochemical colleagues agreed to undertake what was the world’s first PCR (polymerase Chain Reaction) DNA profiling of biological material implicated in an alien abduction experience. The analysis confirmed the hair came from someone who was biologically close to normal human genetics, but of an unusual racial type – a rare Chinese Mongoloid type – one of the rarest human lineages known, that lies further from the human mainstream than any other except for African pygmies and aboriginals. There was the strange anomaly of it being blonde to clear instead of black, as would be expected from the Asian type mitochondrial DNA. The thin blond hair, which appeared to have come from a light-skinned caucasian-type woman, could not have come from a normal human of that racial type. Instead, though human, the hair showed five distinctive DNA markers that are characteristic of a rare sub-group of the Chinese Mongoloid racial type. A detailed survey of the literature on variations in mitochondrial DNA, comprising tens of thousands of samples, showed only four other people on record with all five of the distinctive markers in the blond hair. All four were Chinese, with black hair.

We had the shaft with one set of DNA, and the root showing a different type, and we could not understand it. And eventually, we concluded that this seemed to be the result of some sort of advanced cloning technique. And also we had evidence in the nuclear DNA that this person who needed to hear I guess, you could say, had what appeared to be CCR five dilution factor, which is an interesting property, because it leads you to be perhaps impervious to things like smallpox and AIDS, that kind of thing. So that would be a very handy thing to have. But unfortunately, it’s not shared that widely around the Earth. They have this constellation of unusual DNA properties within one small hair sample. It was bizarre. To keep a very complex story somewhat uncomplicated, what seems to be suggested by the range of findings is possible evidence for advanced DNA techniques and DNA anomalies & findings, for which we are only now discovering or starting to make sense of in mainstream biotechnology.

It is all pretty wild. A look through vast databases of DNA samples showed that no person with blonde hair could be found in Australia who shared these unique genetic characteristics, leaving it a mystery and potentially solid physical evidence of something very strange going on. What was going on here? Where did this hair come from and what does it all mean? Chalker himself would say of it:

Are we dealing with ‘humans’ from elsewhere, namely those with human DNA, albeit very rare and somewhat anomalous? This case raises all sorts of issues, such as human ‘panspermia'” — the theory that human-like beings may have migrated to Earth in the fairly recent past from elsewhere in the galaxy, perhaps giving rise to the sudden appearance of modern homo sapiens sapiens, a species not directly descended from their immediate predecessors, the Neanderthals. Also, given the Asian mongoloid connection, we looked at the problem of European-like rare Asian types in the past. The controversial saga of the Taklamakan mummies in remote Western China is turning the early history of China on its head. These mummies include people who are quite tall, some 6 feet or so, and some are blond. I’m not suggesting a connection here, but you can understand this investigation has opened up all sorts of interesting possibilities about the biological nature of some of the beings implicated in abduction cases. While such cultural and mythic connections are fascinating speculations, they provide for an interesting perspective on the many stories of Nordic type beings implicated in UFO abduction and contact cases.

Khoury would go on to have other abduction experiences, such as one in 1996 in which he was woken to see small hooded figures seeming to pass through a mirror, after which they levitated him off the bed to pull him towards them before he blacked out, but nothing comes close to the story of the hair. In the meantime, the story was printed in an article in the Center for UFO Studies publication International UFO Reporter, entitled Strange Evidence, and Chalker included it in a whole book on cases like this, called Hair of the Alien: DNA and Other Forensic Evidence of Alien Abductions. Of course there is plenty of skeptical input on this all. Not only does the story not make much sense in some respects, but it does not seem that these scientists supposedly analyzing this supposed alien DNA have ever come out officially to publish the findings in any sort of peer reviewed journal and we obviously have not been hit with any news that alien DNA has officially been found. It all ends up another wild ride that leads off into the murk where we are not sure what is going on. Is there anything to this, or is it just a sensational yarn? Time will tell.

Born in Poland in 1891, George Adamski had the distinction of being the most supported, celebrated and ridiculed of those who claimed direct contact with human-like extraterrestrials. The controversy largely began on 20 November 1952, when, along with six other people, Adamski claimed that he witnessed the landing of a UFO in the Californian desert and then made contact with its pilot. FBI documentation, however, showed that Adamski’s interest in UFOs preceded the 1952 date by at least two years; and the author Timothy Good stated that Adamski claimed to have had other-worldly contact as a child, and to have later received instruction from them in Tibet, hence his 1936 book, Wisdom of the Masters of the Far East, published by The Royal Order of Tibet.

At the beginning of its surveillance of George Adamski, the FBI did not apparently have any awareness of his earlier claims of contact; however a document dated 28 May 1952 references his 1950 encounters, and also reveals that – as with George Van Tassel – the FBI considered Adamski to be a subversive. A study of the documentation shows that much of the FBI’s initial data on Adamski came from a source (whose name the FBI has chosen to keep classified) that revealed the facts to its San Diego office on 5 September 1950: “[Source] advised the San Diego Office that he first met Adamski about three months ago at the café which is named the Palomar Gardens Café, owned and operated by Adamski, at the road junction, five miles East of Rincon, California, at a point where the highway branches off leading to Mount Palomar Observatory.

“[Source] became involved in a lengthy conversation with Adamski during which Adamski told them at great length of his findings of flying saucers and so forth. He told them of a spaceship which he said he saw between the earth and the moon, which he estimated to be approximately three miles in length, which was flying so fast that he had to take about eighty photographs before he could get three of them to turn out. According to [source] Adamski stated that the Federal Communications Commission, under the direction of the ‘Military Government’ of the United States, has established communication with the people from other worlds, and has learned that they are so much more advanced than the inhabitants of this earth that they have deciphered the languages used here. Adamski stated that in this interplanetary communication, the Federal Communications Commission asked the inhabitants of the other planet concerning the type of government they had there and the reply indicated that it was very different from the democracy of the United States. Adamski stated that his answer was kept secret by the United States Government, but he added, ‘If you ask me they probably have a Communist form of government and our American government wouldn’t release that kind of thing, naturally. That is a thing of the future – more advanced.'”

Adamski’s comments that his alien friends were communists caused – at the very least – raised eyebrows within the FBI, and led to continued monitoring of his activities: “Adamski, during this conversation, made the prediction that Russia will dominate the world and we will then have an era of peace for 1,000 years. He stated that Russia already has the atom bomb and the hydrogen bomb and that the great earthquake, which was reported behind the Iron Curtain recently, was actually a hydrogen bomb explosion being tried out by the Russians. Adamski states this ‘earthquake’ broke seismograph machines and he added that no normal earthquake can do that.

“Adamski stated that within the next twelve months, San Diego will be bombed. Adamski stated that it does not make any difference if the United States has more atom bombs than Russia inasmuch as Russia needs only ten atom bombs to cripple the United States by placing these simultaneously on such spots as Chicago and other vital centers of this country. The United States today is in the same state of deterioration as was the Roman Empire prior to its collapse and it will fall just as the Roman empire did. The Government in this country is a corrupt form of government and capitalists are enslaving the poor.”

From thereon, Adamski was officially considered by the FBI to be a “security matter.” In January 1953, he was again the subject of FBI interest when the San Diego office began to hear rumors to the effect that: “Adamski had in his possession a machine which could draw ‘flying saucers’ and airplanes down from the sky.” Despite his the-aliens-are-Communists-style statements of 1952, Adamski was concerned that the device that supposedly operated on the principle of “cutting magnetic lines of force,” could be used against American aircraft; and it was Adamski himself initiated who initiated a meeting with both the FBI and the Air Force of Special Investigations, and that occurred on 12 January 1953.

From the beginning of the meeting, Adamski was careful to make it clear that the machine was the creation of another person, and that regardless of what the FBI thought it knew or had been told to the contrary, Adamski had not yet seen the device – he had only been told of its existence. He did, however, apparently know enough about both it and its creator to suggest that production of the device might not be in the best interests of the Government, since the person concerned “was not entirely loyal.” On this matter, at least, Adamski cooperated fully, and provided both the Bureau and the Air Force with sufficient information to allow a formal investigation of the machine’s “inventor” to begin.

In that same meeting, Adamski could not let the opportunity pass by to discuss with both the FBI and the Air Force his claimed encounter of 20 November 1952 out in the deserts of California, as the FBI carefully noted in its write-up of the interview: “At a point ten and two-tenths miles from Desert Center on the road to Parker and Needles, Arizona, [Adamski] made contact with a space craft and had talked to a space man. Adamski stated that he, [deleted] and his wife Mary had been out in the desert and that he and the persons with him had seen the craft come down to the earth. Adamski stated that a small stairway in the bottom of the craft, which appeared to be a round disc, opened and a space man came down the steps. Adamski stated he believed there were other space men in the ship because the ship appeared translucent and could see the shadows of the space men.”

Adamski also revealed that the alien was “over five feet in height, having long hair like a woman’s and garbed in a suit similar to the space suits or web suits worn by the US Air Force men.” And in a similar fashion to George Van Tassel, Adamski related to the FBI and OSI agents that he conversed with the being by means of sign language, but felt that his mid was being “read.” As evidence of this, Adamski said that as he was about to take a photograph of the aliens’ craft, the humanoid “motioned” him to stop. Adamski told the agents that he took his photograph regardless, but that this was not to the liking of the cosmic visitor, who grabbed the material evidence out of Adamski’s hands and soared off into the sky!

Adamski’s adventures with the aliens were not over, however. Once again, according to the FBI: “Adamski further advised that he had obtained plaster casts of the footprints of the space man and stated that the casts indicated the footprints had designs on them similar to the signs of the Zodiac. On January 12, 1953, Adamski advised that on December 13, 1952, the space ship returned to the Palomar Gardens and came low enough to drop the [film negative] which the space man had taken from him, Adamski, and had then gone off over the hill. Adamski stated that when he had the negatives developed at a photo shop in Escondido, California, that the negative that the space man had taken from him contained writing which he believed to be the writing of the space men. Adamski furnished the writer with copies of the space writing and photographs of the space ship.”

However, from another source, the FBI was told that: “The photographs were taken by setting the camera lens at infinity, which would sharpen the background of mountains and trees and blurs the saucer, which was probably strung on a thin wire. [Source] advised that if the camera were set at infinity the wire would not show.” Indeed, what all of this tells us is that until his death in 1965, Adamski was a controversial character – whether within the field of Ufology, or with the special-agents of J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI.

The alien abduction of Charles Hickson

The foreman of the shipyard late in the evening of October 11, 1973, went fishing with a workmate, 19-year-old Calvin Parker. Hickson himself was 42 years old at the time. The men were fishing from an abandoned pier on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi. And suddenly they heard a whistle, turning into a hiss, which came from above and behind. They turned around. A meter from the ground and about 15 meters away from them hung either a disk or a cylinder with two flashing lights or windows.

I don't know if it was round or oblong. I could see the little dome from above, but I couldn't see the whole thing. I didn't even know what size it was.

Charles said later:

The thing opened the hatch. Three figures emerged from it. And they went to the fishermen. And why didn't I jump into the river to get away from them?

Parker had wondered for years:

The creatures looked terrible: gray, wrinkled skin, very long arms that ended in what looked like claws, legs that looked like an elephant's. The heads grew straight out of the shoulders. That is, the necks of the creatures were missing. There were protrusions where people should have had noses, like the carrots of snowmen. Similar formations stuck out on the sides in place of the ears. They were drawn in and out.

Right under the front "carrots" were narrow slits, vaguely resembling mouths. The aliens either had no eyes at all, or they were lost in the folds of their skin.

The creatures swam up to Hickson without moving their legs. Two men grabbed him from both sides. Something pricked my arm and made it impossible to move. Charles could only watch as the creatures dragged him into their machine. The third elephant was carrying Parker's limp body.

There were no seats or equipment visible inside the ship, just a very bright light. Hickson hung in the air like an astronaut in zero gravity. Something that looked like an eye popped out of the wall, moving back and forth as if examining Hickson carefully. Then the creatures turned the captive over, and the " eye " continued its examination.

Finally, the "elephants" pulled their prey back onto the pier. And released. Hickson immediately fell backward - his legs would not obey. Parker stood motionless beside him, his arms outstretched as if in a deep trance. The brigadier crawled to his comrade but soon realized that he could get up. At that moment, the machine took off and disappeared flashing blue lights. The whole incident lasted about 20 minutes.

For a long time, Parker refused to tell what happened to him in the UFO, saying that he lost consciousness, I don't remember anything. But after 20 years, he started talking: they brought him to another room and put him on an inclined table. There was a "small" creature, in Parker's mind, female. It examined him. And then it stuck a needle in the "manhood", telepathically informing that there would be no harm from it.

Four hours later, the fishermen, having recovered a little, hurried to the police. Sheriff Fred Diamond and Captain Glen Rader saw that they were clearly shaken to the core, but did not believe the story about the UFO.

To catch the narrators, the police took them to a separate room, turning on a hidden recording. But even in private, the fishermen were shaking with fear, exchanging fragmentary phrases. And Calvin just got down on his knees and started praying.

After listening to the tape, Raider realized that the men were not joking, and contacted the Kiesler Air Force Base. There, the "contactees" were examined by army doctors. After making sure that Hickson and Parker were physically healthy, the military cross-examined them. At the same time, police officer Tom Huntley was present, who drew attention to the fact that the military behaved as if they heard about the abductions on board the UFO every day. When Hickson mentioned that the creatures ' hands were like claws, the two colonels looked at each other, apparently familiar with the detail.

Ufologist James Harder, who took over the baton from the military, came to the conclusion:

I have no doubt that these two people have experienced something terrible.

Allen Hynek-Confirmed:

Charles Hickson passed a lie detector test. When the test was over, the operator exclaimed, "It looks like that son of a bitch is telling the truth!"

The official conclusion of the test was not so emotional: "The subject sincerely believes that he saw an extraterrestrial ship and was taken on board by some creatures."

It soon became clear that the UFO over Pascagoula was seen by three other people-police officer Raymond Broadus, city councilman Eugene Sagalas and a woman who did not want to identify herself. The ship was exactly the same shape as the one described during the interrogations of the abductees. In 2001, retired Navy officer Mike Cataldo said that that evening he and two of his companions also saw an object over the docks. In the morning, he called Kiesler Air Force Base and left a phone number, but no one contacted him to clarify the details.

When the grueling tests and interrogations were over, Parker was admitted to the hospital with a nervous breakdown and was treated for a long time. Even a few months later, his hands were shaking so much that he couldn't work. Hickson proved to be more resilient - the brigadier's nerves were hardened in Korea, where he fought and was awarded five medals. However, his adventures are by no means over…

In January 1974, Charles was hunting and finally sat down for a snack, resting his rifle on his lap. Suddenly he felt that everything around him seemed to freeze, the sounds disappeared and there was complete silence. The same ship that had appeared in the clearing three months ago-not landed but appeared out of nowhere. The words rang out in his head: "We don't want to hurt you or anyone else.

You will be able to communicate with us in the future. You passed the test. You are the chosen one. Don't be afraid. We'll get back to you.

Then the aliens found Hixon right in the courtyard of the house. He didn't see the UFO, but the words came back to him: "You must tell the people that we will do no harm. Your world needs help. We will help in the future before it's too late. You're not ready to understand it yet. We'll be back soon."

Hickson, of course, was in no hurry to make a fool of himself, but on May 12, they actually returned, and in front of other eyewitnesses. As Charles was driving in the car with his wife, sister, and friends, a ship appeared, as if about to land right in front of the hood. Hickson realized that they had come for him, and asked the driver to stop, but the passengers fell into hysterics, demanding to leave as soon as possible.

At that moment, Hickson "heard" a voice: "Go ahead. There will be another time and place to meet." The ship was no longer moving and disappeared from sight around another bend. Hickson met the anniversary of the kidnapping on the same pier with William Mendez of Michigan College. The night passed without incident, and they decided to go to the ufo center "Starlight "( where experts tried to contact the UFO with lasers, searchlights, and other equipment).

On October 12, a UFO the size of a full moon appeared in the sky, from which two vibrating lines in the form of the letter V radiated downwards. The scientists focused their lenses, but before they could take pictures, the ship took off and disappeared. Hickson had no doubt that the aliens were watching him, but there were no telepathic messages this time. Until his death, Charles waited for the aliens to return, deliberately went to remote places. But they never fulfilled their promise…

Five Strong Signs That Aliens Have Already Been On Earth

The existence of aliens has long been a debating point among conspiracy theorists and space experts. Even though space agencies like NASA have long refuted claims of alien existence, they are still on the hunt to find extraterrestrials which may be living in the outer space.

However, conspiracy theorists strongly argue that aliens have been visiting earth for hundreds of thousands of years, and they are blaming the government and space agencies like NASA for covering up the existence of extraterrestrial life.

Here is a glance at five strong signs often put forward arguing that aliens have already been on earth.

1. Flying saucers everywhere

Surfing the internet using the word ‘UFO’ will populate too many videos showing unidentified flying objects hovering across the skies in various parts of the world. Even though many of these videos are being made using CGI, there are some authentic clips which still remain unanswered and mysterious.

One such authentic clip was captured from Turkey on May 13, 2009, at around 2.20 AM. The video shows an eerie flying object hovering across the skies, and interestingly, through the transparent UFO, we can also see two aliens sitting on the deck.

As the video turned viral on the internet, the Council for Scientific and Technological Research set up a team to check the authenticity of the clip. After nine years of extensive research, the team found that the flying object spotted in the video did not have an earthly origin. The report also added that the video was not subjected to any kind of editing.

UFO research agencies like MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) are getting regular reports of UFO sightings which happen in various corners of the globe, and this clearly indicates that some strange phenomenon is going on in our skies.

However, a section of people believe that these crafts are actually secret military crafts developed by the United States and Russia. The imminent question is — Do these craft have an alien origin, or are they secretive military vessels like the alleged TR-3B?

2. Ancient cave paintings hide a million mysteries

A few years ago, archeologists in India discovered some bizarre cave paintings in rocks at Charama, Chhattisgarh.

Interestingly, these rock paintings depicted alien-like figures wearing suits very similar to modern day space suits. The startling drawings also featured disc-shaped flying saucers, each with a fan-like antenna and three legs.

After analyzing the cave drawings, archeologists came to the conclusion that these cave drawings were painted before 10,000 years. For humans beings, space travel became a reality in the 20th century, then how can ancient Indians draw paintings featuring aliens and flying saucers?

Another popular depiction of aliens in cave paintings can be seen in Christina Lake, British Columbia, Canada. These paintings feature flying saucers with large wings hovering above a group of people.

Recently, renowned television anchor Giorgio Tsoukalos, known for presenting ‘Ancient Aliens’ in History Channel revealed that aliens used to visit humans in the ancient ages.

The television conspiracy theorist also revealed that ancient humans have misrepresented alien visitors as deities and their advanced technology was interpreted as magic. Those who believe in this theory argue that aliens had brought these advanced knowledge and culture to the human civilization on earth.

3. Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program

In December 2017, Pentagon shocked the entire world by admitting that they have conducted a UFO search program under the name ‘Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program’. The million dollar project was carried out to unravel the mysteries surrounding UFO sightings.

The US Defense Department also released a video featuring an unidentified flying object being trailed by a US F-18 jet. Interestingly, the UFO spotted in the video flew across the sky defying all the known laws of physics, and it indicates that this object is made from advanced alien technology.

4. Impeccable ancient structures

There are several structures on the earth like Ancient Egyptian pyramids at Giza, Nazca lines, and Sacsayhuamán that are too big, too complex and too heavy for the ancient humans to build.

Even in the modern days, humans will find it hard to build such marvelous structures with impeccable architecture. So, who built these massive structures? The answer still remains an enigma.

5. Admission from a top Canadian Minister

Paul Hellyer, the former Canadian Minister of National Defence, emerged out of nowhere to claim that aliens have been visiting earth for thousands of years.

The former cabinet minister also said that the US Air Force has been using weapons and crafts made with alien technology since the 1960s.

Whether you believe extraterrestrials exist on other planets or in other galaxies, or you believe they’re already here, your challenge is to identify them – hopefully to welcome them to Earth. But, how can one do this if we don’t know what ETs look like? A zoologist has an answer and his new book might be the perfect handbook for both astronauts and the Earth welcoming committee – or the committee that decides whether the ETs are here to greet us, beat us or eat us.

“The most important rule is that life arises by natural selection. Life adapts to its environment. Complex aliens will have evolved from simple aliens, to solve the problems on their planet. Problems like finding food, avoiding becoming someone else’s food, and reproducing.”

University of Cambridge astrobiologist and zoologist Arik Kershenbaum is the author of a new book: “The Zoologist’s Guide to the Galaxy“. In an article in Science Focus, he explains that his zoological description of aliens is based on Darwin’s theory of evolution – specifically, the idea of natural selection. That idea would restrict the development of ETs just as it restricted the development of life on Earth, allowing species to move up based on successfully conquering the conditions of the moment. Kershenbaum believes that these “universal laws of biology” of biology are in effect on all planets regardless of their environments.

“Aliens will have predators, and they will have prey. Predators will need to be like predators on Earth: fast or stealthy – their prey won’t want to be eaten! Prey will need to defend themselves: by camouflage or by armour? And maybe, like on Earth, some creatures will solve their problems in a special way: by grouping together. Wolves hunt in a pack, and zebras stay in a herd to keep safe from lions. Some aliens will be solitary, but some will also be social.”

All of those things can happen in any environment, right? Kershenbaum gives some examples. If their planet is a water or liquid world, the aliens probably developed fins or jet propulsion – both effective means of movement in liquid. Legs win out on a solid surface over rolling, flopping and other methods of movement. Since the search for food is universal, the means to find it should be as well – combinations of the senses of touch, smell, sight and hearing would be successful developments on Mars or on exoplanets. Here’s another universal trait Kershenbaum sees.

“Symmetrical animals move so much faster than non-symmetrical ones, they have a real advantage. That doesn’t mean that circular (or even triangular) aliens are impossible. But think about how they evolved: why did they get an advantage by being circular or triangular? Maybe circular creatures could evolve in a bottomless ocean, where there’s no advantage to crawling.”

Symmetry means balance, which is required no matter how much or how little gravity a planet has. A New York Times review points out that Kershenbaum predicts some aliens will exhibit social cooperation, technology and language, and some will have intelligence – perhaps enough to do those things with us. The real question is … will there be some that are MORE intelligent than us?

Kershenbaum doesn’t provide any drawings of aliens or detailed descriptions – four eyes, eight arms, green skin, forked tongue, big head, pointy ears – but it’s easy to see that starting with “natural selection” ends up with ETs resembling life on Earth. Does this also mean that if there are aliens among us, they will evolve to look exactly like us?

Volgens Harvard-professor Avi Loeb hebben buitenaardse wezens het zonnestelsel al bezocht. Dat meent hij in alle ernst. In een nieuw boek licht hij niet alleen zijn opmerkelijke hypothese toe, maar wijst hij ook op een crisis in de wetenschappen. ‘Mijn werk is niet mainstream, maar onderzoek naar de snaartheorie of het multiversum is dat wel? Dat is al te gek.’

Avi Loeb schuwt de controverse niet. De productieve astrofysicus van Harvard University verrichte zowel pionierswerk als provocerend onderzoek naar zwarte gaten, uitbarstingen van gammastraling, het prille universum en andere standaardthema's uit de astronomie. Al meer dan tien jaar verdiept hij zich ook in een meer omstreden onderwerp: buitenaardse wezens en hoe je die opspoort. 

Tot voor kort was zijn meest spraakmakende wapenfeit rond dat laatste zijn betrokkenheid bij Breakthrough Starshot, een project gefinancierd door Silicon Valley-miljardair Yuri Milner, dat lichtzeilen – ultradunne lasergestuurde reflecterende ruimtetuigen – met hoge snelheid op ruimtereis naar nabijgelegen sterren wil sturen. 

Maar in het najaar van 2017 kwam daar verandering in. Overal ter wereld verdrongen astronomen zich om de raadselachtige interstellaire bezoeker te bestuderen die heel even binnen het bereik van hun telescopen was gekomen, de allereerste ooit waargenomen.

De ontdekkers van het object noemden het 'Oumuamua, een Hawaïaans woord dat zoveel betekent als 'boodschapper die van ver komt'. Vroeg onderzoek toonde aan dat deze ruimtepassant verschillende eigenschappen had die een eenvoudige natuurlijke verklaring lastig maakten. De vorm van 'Oumuamua, een soort sigaar of pannenkoek van honderd meter lang, leek in niets op bekende asteroïden of kometen. Ook de helderheid was totaal anders. 'Oumuamua bleek minstens tien keer meer licht te weerkaatsen dan typische ruimterotsen uit ons zonnestelsel. Dit hemellichaam glimde zo hard dat het aan gepolijst metaal deed denken. 

Heel vreemd was ook dat het object, toen het voorbij de zon dook en wegstoof, bijzonder hard versnelde. Die versnelling viel niet te verklaren door de afnemende zwaartekracht van de zon alleen. We zien zulke versnellingen wel bij ordinaire kometen: ze ontstaan door het stuwende effect van de verdampende gassen, die wegschieten wanneer het zonlicht hun ijzige oppervlakte opwarmt. Maar rond 'Oumuamua namen astronomen geen tekenen van dat soort stuwing waar.

De volgens Loeb meest plausibele verklaring is even voor de hand liggend als spectaculair: de merkwaardige versnelling die 'Oumuamua maakt zou perfect logisch zijn als het object een lichtzeil zou zijn. Misschien is het wel een overblijfsel van een of andere galactische cultuur die al lang is verdwenen. Door zijn jarenlange zoektocht naar mogelijke bewijzen voor kosmische beschavingen ergens in het heelal raakte Loeb er steeds meer van overtuigd dat 'Oumuamua zo'n bewijs was. Dit object had óns gevonden. 

In het najaar van 2018 publiceerde Loeb samen met Shmuel Bialy, een postdoctoraatsonderzoeker aan Harvard, een paper in Astrophysical Journal Letters. Daarin betoogden zij dat 'Oumuamua niets minder was dan het eerste contact van de mensheid met een artefact van buitenaardse intelligentie. 

De paper scoorde bij journalisten, maar kon de meeste van Loebs collega-astrobiologen niet bekoren. Zij vinden 'Oumuamua evenzeer merkwaardig, maar klasseren de eigenschappen toch binnen de natuurlijke fenomenen. Iets anders beweren is volgens hen op z’n best tactloos en op z’n slechtst destructief.  Dit onderzoeksdomein kampt al lang met de stigma’s van ontvoeringen door ufo’s en aliens, terwijl het een legitieme plaats binnen de wetenschappen verdient. 

Loeb brengt zijn verhaal nu ook naar een breder publiek met Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth. Het boek vertelt niet alleen het levensverhaal van de auteur maar buigt zich ook over de fundamentele mysteries van 'Oumuamua. Een gesprek over zijn controversiële hypothese en de crisis die de wetenschap volgens hem doormaakt. 

Avi Loeb

Abraham Loeb (°1962) is een Israëlisch-Amerikaans theoretisch fysicus, gespecialiseerd in astrofysica en kosmologie. Hij is hoogleraar aan Harvard University, waar hij het Black Hole Initiative oprichtte. Voorts zit hij in de adviesraad van het Breakthrough Starshot-project van de Israëlisch-Russische miljardair Yuri Milner, dat ruim- tevaartuigen met lichtzeilen naar sterren wil bren- gen. In 2012 selecteerde het magazine Time Loeb als een van de vijfentwintig meest invloedrijke per- sonen in de astronomie. Hij schreef acht boeken.

Hoe gaat het?

‘Goed, al slaap ik te weinig om te kunnen ingaan op alle persaanvragen. Om 1.50 u 's nachts en om 3 u 's ochtends had ik noog interviews. Tel daar nog heel wat televisieoptredens bij. De komende weken moet ik zo'n honderd podcastinterviews doen. Ik heb al lange gesprekken gehad met Lex Fridman en Joe Rogan voor hun shows. Zoiets heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt, de interesse voor mijn boek is enorm. De voorbije weken ben ik door tien filmmakers en producers uit Hollywood gecontacteerd! (Lacht:) Als hier een film van komt, wil ik door Brad Pitt gespeeld worden.’

De gelijkenis is treffend. Gezien uw productiviteit heb ik altijd al de indruk gehad dat u nooit veel slaapt.

‘Gewoonlijk sta ik elke ochtend om vijf uur op en ga ik joggen. Het is prachtig als er buiten nog niemand is – alleen ik en de vogels, eenden en konijnen. Door de pandemie zijn de voorbije tien maanden inderdaad de productiefste uit mijn carrière geweest. Ik hoef niet naar het werk te pendelen. Ik heb geen afspraken met massa's mensen. En het belangrijkste: ik hoef me niet bezig te houden met alle foute uitspraken van anderen!’

Over één ding zijn we het alvast eens: in de wetenschappen moeten we eerlijk met elkaar omgaan. Dat zeg ik omdat u in uw boek beweert dat u niet in de schijnwerpers wil staan en niet geïnteresseerd bent in zelfpromotie. Hoe rijmt u dat met dit gesprek?

‘Met de pers praten is belangrijk, omdat ik op die manier mijn boodschap, die anders niet zoveel aandacht zou krijgen, met een breed publiek kan delen.’

Wat is uw boodschap precies? Ik vermoed dat u het niet alleen over 'Oumuamua wil hebben.

‘Mijn boodschap is dat het tegenwoordig niet meer zo goed gesteld is met de gezondheid van de wetenschappelijke wereld. Al te veel wetenschappers worden nu in de eerste plaats gedreven door hun ego, door eretitels en awards, of door hun neigen om aan collega’s te demonstreren hoe slim ze wel niet zijn. Zij behandelen wetenschap meer als een monoloog over zichzelf dan als een dialoog met de natuur. Ze bouwen echokamers met studenten en postdocs die hun mantra's herhalen, zodat hun stem steeds luider klinkt en hun imago wordt gepromoot. Dat is niet het doel van wetenschap. De essentie van wetenschap is proberen de wereld te begrijpen. Dat is bedoeld als leerervaring, waarbij je onderweg risico's neemt en fouten maakt. Als je in de frontlinie staat, kun je nooit op voorhand zeggen welke weg vooruit de juiste is. Dat leer je alleen door feedback uit experimenten.’

‘Snaartheorie, het multiversum: tegenwoordig houden gerenommeerde wetenschappers zich te veel bezig met zaken die niet te toetsen zijn’

‘Zo komen we bij het volgende actuele probleem in de wetenschap: mensen worden niet alleen door de verkeerde motivatie gedreven, maar laten zich ook niet meer leiden door bewijzen. Bewijzen houden je bescheiden, omdat je iets voorspelt en dat toetst, waarop de bewijzen soms aantonen dat je fout zit. Vandaag houden heel wat gerenommeerde wetenschappers zich echter bezig met wiskundige gymnastiek over allerlei zaken die niet te toetsen zijn: snaartheorie, het multiversum, zelfs de theorie van de kosmische inflatie. Ooit vroeg ik aan Alan Guth, de bedenker van die theorie, of kosmische inflatie falsifieerbaar is. Waarop hij antwoordde dat dat een dwaze vraag was, omdat er voor alle mogelijke kosmologische data die een experiment kan opleveren altijd wel een inflatiemodel is dat hierbij past. En daarom bevindt inflatie zich in een heel sterke positie, omdat het alles kan verklaren. Ik zie dat net als een zwakke positie, omdat de theorie van alles soms een theorie van niets is. Misschien is er wel geen verschil tussen die twee.’

‘Die bubbel van imaginaire dingen voelt voor mij als trippen op drugs: je kunt high worden en je inbeelden dat je rijker bent dan Elon Musk. Je kunt je daar geweldig bij voelen en er met je vrienden over praten. En als je in een grote gelijkgezinde gemeenschap zit, kunnen jullie elkaar steunen en respecteren, en elkaar met awards belonen – fantastisch, toch? Het is pas wanneer je je geld wil opvragen en effectief wil spenderen dat je beseft dat je eigenlijk niets hebt. Experimenten kunnen dienen als reality check, net zoals naar de bankautomaat gaan. Die toetsing is essentieel in de wetenschappen – voorspellingen doen die getoetst kunnen worden en waarbij je iets op het spel zet – omdat we anders nooit iets nieuws leren. Ik denk dat dit niet meer voldoende erkend wordt.’

Speculeren over de snaartheorie en multiversums is slecht, maar speculeren over buitenaardse beschavingen en hun artefacten die door het zonnestelsel passeren mag wel? Je kunt toch ook zeggen dat een beroep doen op 'aliens' alles kan verklaren?

‘Het verschil is dat je voor dat laatste voorspellingen kunt doen die je kunt toetsen; deze speculaties komen vanuit een voorzichtig-conservatieve positie.’

‘Als 'Oumuamua één van de vele objecten zou zijn die zich op een willekeurige baan voortbewegen, dan kun je wel schatten dat we heel binnenkort elke maand nog gemiddeld één ander dergelijk object zullen vinden, zodra de Vera C. Rubin Observatory (spiegeltelescoop met immense digitale camera onder constructie in Chili, red.) online gaat. We kunnen een systeem van instrumenten uitbouwen die de hemel afspeuren, en die ook in staat zijn om te reageren wanneer zulke objecten naderen. Zo kunnen we foto’s nemen zodra ze binnenkomen, in plaats van ze achterna te zitten wanneer ze weer weggaan, want ze bewegen heel snel. Bovendien hoeft niet al het werk in de ruimte te gebeuren: je kunt ook denken aan meteoren van interstellaire oorsprong en daarnaar op zoek gaan. Als je er dan ergens een vindt die op het aardoppervlak aan zijn eind is gekomen, kun je die misschien zelfs met je eigen handen onderzoeken.’

‘Mensen vragen mij waarom ik al die media-aandacht krijg. De enige reden daarvoor is dat mijn collega's hun gezond verstand niet gebruiken. Plaats de snaartheorie en multiversums eens tegenover wat ik en vele anderen zeggen, gebaseerd op data van de Kepler-missie van NASA: ruwweg de helft van de zonachtige sterren in de Melkweg heeft een planeet met ongeveer dezelfde grootte als de aarde. Die planeten bevinden zich bovendien op ongeveer dezelfde afstand van de aarde tegenover de zon. Vloeibar water op het oppervlak en de chemie van het leven zoals wij dat kennen, zijn dus mogelijk. Als je miljarden keren de dobbelstenen over het leven in de Melkweg gooit, hoe groot is de kans dan dat we alleen zijn? Hoogstwaarschijnlijk is die miniem. Zeggen dat je een soortgelijke uitkomst krijgt als je soortgelijke omstandigheden voorziet, is volgens mij het meest conservatieve standpunt denkbaar.’

‘Ik zou dan verwachten dat de meeste mensen dit onderschrijven, mij omhelzen en zeggen: ‘Fantastisch, Avi, je hebt gelijk. We zouden naar die dingen moeten kijken omdat zij heel waarschijnlijk zijn.’ In de plaats zie ik een tegenreactie die getuigt van een dolgedraaid intellectueel kompas. Hou kun je anders verklaren dat er aan extra dimensies van de snaartheorie of het multiversum gewerkt wordt, terwijl er geen enkele aanwijzing is voor hun bestaan? Maar dát wordt dus als mainstream beschouwd? Dat is al te gek.’

‘Vandaag zie ik astronomen praten over toekomstige telescopen die miljarden kosten. Hun belangrijkste motivatie: leven vinden door in de atmosfeer van exoplaneten naar zuurstof te zoeken. Maar als je naar de eerste 2 miljard jaar van de aarde kijkt, zie je dat onze planeet niet veel zuurstof in zijn atmosfeer had, terwijl er toch al veel microbieel leven was. En zelfs als er zuurstof is, kan die ook afkomstig zijn van natuurlijke processen, zoals het uiteenvallen van watermolecules. Dus zelfs als je al die miljarden uitgeeft en zuurstof vindt, dan nog zullen mensen daar eeuwig over blijven redetwisten. Kijk maar hoeveel discussie er is over de mogelijke vondst van fosfine op Venus, een heel ongewone molecule in vergelijking met zuurstof.’

‘Mijn punt is dat je met dezelfde instrumenten en zonder extra investeringen eigenlijk sluitend bewijs kunt vinden voor leven, intelligentie en technologie. Wat zou dat bewijs kunnen zijn? Industriële vervuiling in de atmosfeer. Je zou kunnen zoeken naar chloorfluorkoolstofverbindingen (cfk's), de complexe molecules die enkel op aarde worden geproduceerd voor koelinstallaties. Als je die op een andere planeet zou vinden, weet je dat die molecule onmogelijk op een natuurlijke manier geproduceerd kon worden. Dan zou je een onweerlegbaar bewijs hebben dat er leven – en meer – heeft bestaan.’

‘Wat is dus het probleem met zeggen dat zoeken naar industriële vervuiling de moeite loont? Is dit niet gewoon een psychologische barrière die sommige wetenschappers tegenhoudt om toe te geven dat zij eigenlijk willen dat de zoektocht naar technologische signalen van buitenaardse beschavingen een randfenomeen blijft, met heel weinig fondsen? Ik vind dat we van dit soort zaken een prioriteit moeten maken. Het zou zelfs conservatief zijn om te doen, want het zou ons de meeste informatie opleveren over het bestaan van buitenaards leven. Toch doen we nu precies het omgekeerde.’

Geloven dat 'Oumuamua een buitenaards artefact is, kan volgens u leiden tot een revolutie in de ruimtewetenschappen. De focus zou dan komen te liggen op de zogeheten search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). Maar uw critici zeggen dat u meer kwaad dan goed doet. U zit in een van de populairste podcasts ter wereld, die van Joe Rogan. Hij staat erom bekend foute informatie in zijn podcasts te verspreiden. Waar trekt u de grens voor publieke optredens die het risico op hoongelach verhogen en zo alle vooruitgang van SETI dwarsbomen?

‘In grote lijnen financiert het publiek de wetenschappen. En dat publiek is bijzonder geïnteresseerd in de zoektocht naar buitenaards leven. Als wetenschappers door het publiek gesteund worden, hoe durven zij die vraag dan uit de weg te gaan, terwijl zij daar met de technologieën die ze ontwikkelen wél kunnen op ingaan?’

‘Er zijn natuurlijk sciencefictionverhalen over aliens en heel veel ongegronde ufomeldingen. Stel dat er wat literatuur zou bestaan over de magische eigenschappen van covid-19 die niet gestoeld zijn op de realiteit. Zou dat dan betekenen dat wetenschappers niet aan een vaccin voor deze pandemie moeten werken? Natuurlijk niet! Ik beschouw de zoektocht naar tekenen van buitenaardse technologie niet als iets anders dan de zoektocht naar de aard van zwarte materie. We hebben honderden miljoenen dollars geïnvesteerd in speuren naar massieve partikels die zwak interageren, omdat het belangrijke kandidaten zijn voor zwarte materie. Tot dusver heeft dat niets opgeleverd. Dat betekent niet dat al die investeringen een verspilling waren. Doodlopende sporen horen nu eenmaal bij de wetenschappelijke methode.’

‘In de wetenschappen worden we verondersteld om alles open op tafel te gooien, wat de risico’s ook inhouden. We kunnen ideeën niet zomaar uit de weg gaan gewoon omdat we vrezen voor de discussie die erover zou ontstaan. Want ook dat houdt grote risico's in. Het zou hetzelfde zijn als Galileo verbieden iets te zeggen over de aarde die rond de zon draait, of om door een telescoop te kijken, omdat dat gevaarlijk is voor de op dat moment heersende filosofie. We hebben een open dialoog tussen wetenschappers nodig, waarbij mensen verschillende opvattingen voorstellen en we de bewijzen laten bepalen wat er klopt. In de context van 'Oumuamua zeg ik dat de beschikbare bewijzen doen vermoeden dat dit specifieke object artificieel is. De manier om dat te testen is om meer voorbeelden van hetzelfde te vinden en die te onderzoeken. Zo eenvoudig is dat.’

‘Hoe kun je die situatie veranderen? Volgens mij is het antwoord: door ze zoveel mogelijk naar het grote publiek te brengen.’

In uw boek linkt u uw openheid over 'Oumuamua aan een zinsnede, een ethos dat u tijdens uw dienstplicht voor het Israëlische leger leerde: ‘Je lichaam op de prikkeldraad leggen.’ Persoonlijke offers brengen voor het grotere goed. Moet u voor dit doel dan een martelaar zijn? Heeft u hierdoor vrienden of respect verloren?

‘Niemand heeft me agressief aangevallen of zo. Maar misschien praten mensen wel achter mijn rug. Dat lijkt me logischer, gezien mijn leidende posities. Maar ik weet het dus niet. Ik laat nul sporen achter op sociale media. Al moet ik waarschijnlijk zeggen dat de critici die zich het luidst met giftige opmerkingen op Twitter of elders laten horen vrij middelmatige wetenschappers zijn. De meeste goede wetenschappers zouden zich niet op die manier gedragen – zij zouden argumenten formuleren voor of tegen mijn beweringen en dat zou volstaan. Gemene opmerkingen hebben weinig zin, behalve dat het mij niet zou verbazen dat veel van die critici, diep vanbinnen, eigenlijk wel geïntrigeerd zijn door de idee dat 'Oumuamua artificieel is. Maar dat willen ze niet toegeven. Dus verkondigen ze met veel lawaai het tegenovergestelde.’

‘Waarom zoeken we op planeten altijd naar zuurstof en niet naar tekenen van industriële vervuiling? Dat zou onweerlegbaar bewijs vormen’

‘Helaas verschilt mijn situatie van die van jonge postdoc-onderzoekers met wie ik heb gewerkt, omdat zij voor een job moeten solliciteren. Ik ben er zeker ven dat zij al benaderd werden met 'kijk, dit is gevaarlijk voor je', waarop zij elk onderzoek staakten dat ook maar ergens in die richting ging. Dat verbaast mij niet. Als je een vijandige intellectuele cultuur creëert, waarin SETI niet wordt gewaardeerd, zullen verstandige jonge mensen die weg ook niet inslaan. Maar je kunt niet op het gazon stappen en dan klagen dat het gras niet groeit op de plek waar je staat. Houd briljante onderzoekers niet tegen om zich in te zetten voor SETI en dan te zeggen: ‘Kijk, we vinden niets. SETI is een mislukking!’’

‘Dit alles betekent niet dat álle ruimtewetenschappen zich met hetzelfde moeten bezighouden. Kijk maar eens naar de commerciële wereld van Bell Labs vroeger of Google nu: zij moedigen hun personeel aan en laten hen vernieuwende 'onrendabele' research te doen, die dus niet meteen tot concrete winst leidt. Maar als je naar de academische wereld kijkt, zie je dat zij conservatiever zijn dan de commerciële sector. Dat klopt niet.’

Kwatongen zouden kunnen zeggen dat u vooral hard probeert om rijke weldoeners, zoals Yuri Milner, gunstig te stemmen. U bent ook adviseur van zijn Breakthrough Initiatives-programma, dat onderzoek financiert verwant aan SETI en lichtzeilen.

‘Het klopt voor mij – en voor iedereen, denk ik – dat mijn verbeelding begrensd wordt door wat ik weet. Ik kan niet ontkennen dat mijn betrokkenheid bij Breakthrough hier een invloed had. Ik was het die het lichtzeil (voorgesteld door natuurkundige Philip Lubin, red.) in de eerste plaats aan Yuri Milner suggereerde als concept voor een interstellair ruimtetuig. Het zat dus in mijn woordenschat en bijgevolg stelde ik me dit voor toegepast op 'Oumuamua. Nu kun je je afvragen of dat geen bevooroordeelde visie is. Maar ze komt regelmatig voor in de fysica en in SETI. In het kader van SETI zijn we de hemel beginnen afspeuren met radiosignalen zodra we die radiotechnologie hadden ontwikkeld. Hetzelfde voor lasers. Zodra je aan een bepaalde technologie werkt, is het heel normaal dat je denkt dat die misschien al ergens bestaat en zoek je ernaar.’

‘Ik ontken dus niet dat de reden waarom het lichtzeilconcept in mijn hoofd zat was dat ik er eerder al had aan gewerkt. Maar dat heeft niets te maken met pogingen om Yuri aan te sporen. Waarom zou ik dat op die manier doen, als ik hem op elk moment ook gewoon rechtstreeks kan benaderen om mijn visie te verdedigen? Mijn werk over 'Oumuamua werd ook niet gecoördineerd of gefinancierd door Breakthrough Initiatives. Zij hebben geen persberichten over mijn ideeën verspreid. Integendeel, misschien zijn ze zelfs ongerust. Omdat ze hun eigen reputatie moeten bewaken enzovoort. Ik heb over het thema geen enkele steun of communicatie met hen gehad. Ik heb 'Oumuamua niet gebruikt als een of ander politiek vehikel in het kader van Breakthrough. Dat heeft niets met mijn motivatie te maken.’

Wat komt er voor u na dit? Heeft u plannen?

‘Ik heb net mijn voorzitterschap van het departement astronomie aan Harvard neergelegd. Ik kan nu dus inderdaad naar de volgende fase overgaan. De vraag is: wat wordt die? Een andere leidende positie zou wel aanlokkelijk zijn, omdat ik zou kunnen proberen de realiteit anders vorm te geven dan vele anderen. Zoiets zou ik niet aan mij voorbij kunnen laten gaan. Maar misschien krijg ik geen aanbiedingen meer door mijn opvattingen over ‘Oumuamua. In dit geval zou ik meer boeken schrijven, meer onderzoek doen en nog steeds elke ochtend gaan joggen.’

Mysterious Alien Woman Arrival On Brazilian Island & Beginning Of UFO Sightings In 1970s

The second country with the most UFO sightings and alien encounters after the US is Brazil. Very few of us know about the “Operation Saucer” also known as Operação Prato carried out by the Brazilian Air Force under the command of Colonel Uyrangê Hollanda to investigate the series of UFO sightings that happened in the mid-1970s that included attacks by light rays. Before the beginning of all these, a mysterious woman arrived at Ilha do Meio, situated in the Brazilian State of Pará.

Researcher Vitorio Peret recalled that in 1975, a woman named Elizabeth Quimine Berger arrived in Urumajó, now Augusto Corrêa. Her intention was to purchase lands on the Island of Meio, located 200 km from the city. She was a white blonde with blue eyes. The woman claimed to be a divorcee and a fashion designer by profession. Interestingly, according to locals, she was very short, only 132 cm. She was born in Switzerland, had an English passport, and was a resident of Paris.

There was one boatman named João Olaya, who could carry travelers across the island. She got acquainted with him and asked him to take her to the island where she offered the locals to sell their lands to her in exchange for good cash. At first, the locals had no intention to sell their properties to some strange foreign woman. But later, she offered them a huge amount of money and bought plots on the island. Soon, she purchased all other properties near to her previous purchases. Although she became the owner of many lands, the mysterious woman used to spend very little time there as she was mostly out of the island.

In some time, the local fishermen and other people started spotting strange lights over the island, and this sparked a rumor that the woman was an extraterrestrial. Some fishermen reported seeing her taking a group of white people with blond hair (around 40-50) to the island. She also used to buy large quantities of fish (around 400 kg of fish) every month from the local fishermen.

According to the reports, the locals saw a white ball of lights that looked like “small moons” that landed on the island. What’s more, at the time when the UFO sightings began in the area, Berger was reportedly seen going out in the middle of the night. Some boatman who had access to traveling to the island once followed her and saw her walking on the water without any clothes. The woman became popular among the locals after such details. Some of them even complained to the police about it.

She was questioned by the police three times but was always released as they had never found any strong evidence against her related to the strange light phenomenon. Colonel Uyrangê Hollanda became aware of the strange resident and suspected that she had been feeding guerrillas, as they said that she regularly was seen with dozens of men.

Only when she was on the island, strange cylindrical lights and objects, looking like probes, appeared and evolved at night. The colonel searched her place and was surprised. The house had no windows, no doors, no dishes, no furniture. Just a bed and two chairs, Peret said.

Peret recalled that an American arrived on the island in 1975 when there were already reports of the phenomena that affected the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. Some people were hit by beams of light, including that caused burns. This American claimed to be a commercial pilot who joined NASA and appeared on Mosqueiro Island amid evidence of extraterrestrial activities in the area.

“His neighbors on the island reported that he had very modern equipment for the time and in relation to what was in the region, such as a structure for radio communication that did not even exist in Belém, and even a notebook, something unthinkable for the time. his was the fastest in the region and he never bought anything on the island. Not even a loaf. Twice a week, he went out on a speedboat and came back with groceries,” said Peret.

Peret was suspicious of the NASA interference in Operation Saucer because when the room of that man was searched, his walls were full of formulas, and images of space and rockets were found on the site where his house was. He died on the island in 1982.

Meanwhile, when Berger was arrested the third time, she was escorted by four policemen but vanished soon after she asked to go to the bathroom. It is shocking that she could disappear from the bathroom which had only one door and a small window.

According to Ufologist Moacyr de Mendonça de Uchôa, she was seen dressed as a nurse in Los Angeles 1985/1986 Earthquakes, helping the wounded. Interpol tried to track her but failed. Later, she was seen in South Korea. Later, the police found out that her passport fake, and Elisabeth Queminet Berger was a Swiss woman who died in 1937.

It is one of the unsolved mysteries that still astonishes people. There is a theory that she was either an extraterrestrial or a time traveler who traveled to Earth for some business but had to go due to too much interference by the Brazilian officials.

Reptilians: The Serpent Connection From Ancient Myths To Modern Science

This is a highly controversial and thought-provoking subject.

We will therefore investigate the topic from a scientific and mythological point of view. The human reptilian connection is very old. Reptilian-like humanoids and “Lizard- people” are described in many ancient texts and religions.

“As long as humanity has kept records of its existence, legends of a serpent race have persisted. The subject of reptilians has become popular since some decades when, David Icke, stated that some human beings on Earth are not normal like us and they are reptilians.

So is it possible that we evolved from reptilians?

There are certain physiological similarities between humans and reptilians. We have what is known as the “reptilian brain”.

It controls vital functions such as heart rate, breathing, body temperature and balance.

Our reptilian brain also includes the main structures found in a reptile’s brain, namely the brainstem and the cerebellum.

The reptilian brain is reliable but tends to be somewhat rigid and compulsive.

Our eyes are also constructed like the eyes of reptiles. In both humans and reptiles, the eye acts as a box with a lens to focus the light that passes through it. Cells within the eye process the light and turn it into useful information.

Scientists have for long been aware of that the lizard has a heart that is virtually indistinguishable from a human embryonic heart. While the structure of the human heart has been known for a long time, the evolutionary origin of our conduction system has nevertheless remained a mystery.

Now, a century-old mystery has thereby finally been unravelled about the evolution of the human heart.

Researchers have finally succeeded in showing that the spongy tissue in reptile hearts is the forerunner of the complex hearts of both birds and mammals.

The new knowledge provides a deeper understanding of the complex conductive tissue of the human heart, which is of key importance in many heart conditions.

“The heart of a bird or a mammal – for example a human – pumps frequently and rapidly.

This is only possible because it has electrically conductive tissue that controls the heart.

Until now, however, we haven’t been able to find conductive tissue in our common reptilian ancestors, which means we haven’t been able to understand how this enormously important system emerged,” says Bjarke Jensen, Department of Bioscience, Aarhus University.

Reports of so-called hybrid children and hybrid babies are particularly notable, in the sense that encounters with these somewhat unsettling creatures more often than not follow certain, distinct pathways that crop up time and again. There is, for example, most assuredly a greater percentage of female abductees who have had interactions with the hybrids than there are male abductees. There appears to be a very good reason for this. Under hypnotic regression, numerous women have reported been taken on board a UFO, or, on more than a few occasions, to an underground installation, where they are introduced to the hybrids. Of course, the underground component/”little people” issue adds to the centuries-old fairy encounters, and the changeling phenomenon that has its undeniable parallels to today’s UFO scene. In such situations the woman will either be laying on something akin to an operating-room table, or sitting in a chair that resembles a dentist’s chair. It’s then that something remarkable happens – although, admittedly, others might call it terrifying.

As the abductee looks on, a group of three or four small, alien Grays will approach, with one of them holding in their hands a tiny baby that is clear not entirely human, even though it exhibit certain, physical, human traits. The abductee is then encouraged to take the baby from the Gray and to cradle it. Researchers of the phenomenon have suggested, probably correctly, that this procedure is undertaken to try and instill an emotional bond between the abductee and the hybrid. If this all sounds very calm and tranquil, it often is not. Many of the female abductees who report this bonding process – or attempt at bonding – were, months earlier, pregnant themselves. For a while, at least, they were. There are many reports on record where a pregnant abductee has experienced a sudden, unexplained miscarriage; a tragic event, to be sure. Or is there just an assumption they were miscarriages? Quite possibly, yes.

Those same abductees, when presented with a hybrid baby, develop sudden, unexplained suspicions that what they are being shown is the baby they were once carrying and which they assumed had miscarried. In this scenario, abduction researcher suggest, the abductees are impregnated during an earlier abduction, they then carry the fetus for a number of months, and then it is removed from the mother during a later abduction, and essentially “grown” in what we might call an artificial womb. A sensation – some might say outrageous – scenario, to be sure, but it’s not a possibility that can be dismissed. The reason why is as amazing as it is controversial: we, the Human Race, are now working – and working hard and fast – to develop artificial wombs.

The process of growing a fetus, and bringing it to full term in an artificial womb, is called ectogenesis. Much of the research is still at a theoretical stage, predominantly because of restrictions and regulations that govern the ethical, or non-ethical use, of human embryos in experimentation. But, not all of it is. As just two perfect examples, we have to first turn our attentions to Japan, and experimentation undertaken in 1997, at the Bunkyo, Tokyo-based Juntendo University. The program was led by Yoshinori Kuwabara – the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics at the university – who was successful in growing goat embryos that were contained in a machine filled with amniotic fluid, a yellow-colored fluid contained in the amniotic sac and which surrounds the growing fetus. Then there is the work of Cornell University’s Reproductive Endocrine Laboratory. In both 2003 and 2011 significant success was had by sustaining embryos in artificial wombs. In the 2003 experiment, the embryo was that of a mouse. Eight years later, however, it was nothing less than a human embryo, which was allowed to develop for ten days – with fourteen days being the absolute, legal time-limit on experimenting with human fetuses.

There is, however, one potential disadvantage, and it may prove to be a big one, should we, as a species, ever decide to go down this emotionless pathway. It is the matter of the deep bonding between the mother and the unborn fetus that quickly develops when pregnancy begins. Or, in the future, what might very well be a distinct lack of that bonding. Might we see a 23^rd Century or a 28^th Century in which, as a result of a factory-like environment in which babies are grown to order, specification, and design, that bond is completely lost? Might we see the Human Race, hundreds of years from now, reduced to nothing but cold, emotionless entities – in fact, just like the Grays – that will have no understanding of, or care for, the emotional angle of what it means to be pregnant? Such a thing, given that research in this field is pressing ahead, is not at all out of the question. This same situation may also explain why the Grays are forced to present hybrid children to human mothers, in an effort to induce bonding: the Grays are utterly incapable of comprehending how to make that bond themselves.

In a lecture at the Meta Tech Org. Conference, B. Robertson spoke on the subject: Secret Earth Activities of Some Extraterrestrial Groups, Especially the Markabs, Towards Takeover of Full Control over the Earth. Among other things, he spoke of the fact that over the last fifty years, at least 200,000 Markabians have been secretly immigrated to the country, trained as young civil servants, secret service agents, armed forces and police officers, entrepreneurs and financiers. The whole event was highly concealed not only before the Congress and the US Senate, but also before the world and the Great Galactic Council. The mission of this Marxian extraterrestrial contingent may well be the creation of a “fifth column”, destined to gradually conquer the Earth planet to connect the Earth as the eighth planet to the Markabian federation.

The production of human clones was acquired in 1977 according to the alien technology (Markabian-Sirians) at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City) research laboratories. The world learned about it the same year when American television and television scientists and camera attendees the original man and his clone were shown. The Base Underground, also known as the Western Virginia Office of Controlled Conflict Operations (WVOCCO), is hidden not only in hard granites but also thoroughly hidden. In March 1976, The Progressive Magazine published an astonishing article titled The Mysterious Mountain.

The rapporteur, Richard Pollock, was based on information based on the Senate Subcommittee inquiry committee report, interrogation records, and several confidential interviews with officials previously associated with Mount Weather. His report and article at The Time Magazine, 1991, called Doomsday Hideaway, gave a lot of information about what really is in the underground of Mount Weather. Ted Gup, writing for The New York Times, describes the underground base as follows:

Pollock’s report contains stunning information about the base staff. In this underground city, according to data from former senior officials of the base, a secret (gray) government of the United States is stationed. Information from high state resources, Pollock has only been given the promise of adhering to the strictest anonymity. Pollock told me that each of the federal departments represented in Mount Weather is headed by an individual who is titled as “Mr. Secretary” and is in direct contact with the official US government. It is unclear who appoints Cabinet members of this cabinet based in Mount Weather. The notion that President appointment is unstoppable, as the Many Through Several Administrations are many times longer than the elected presidents. It is therefore clear that this is a genuine duplication of the fundamental functions of the US government. There are nine Federal Departements (federal ministries: agriculture, trade, health, education and social care, housing and urban planning, labor, home affairs, state affairs, transport and finance) as well as at least five of the most important state bodies Special Services, Federal Military Obligation Commission, Civil Service Commission, and Veterans Administration). There are also two private companies located here: the Federal Reserve and the US Post Office. Pollock writes that he does not know how long the cabinet members (ministers) are appointed, perhaps by the president, but that is not certain. Time of service is not known with certainty either.

In my opinion, the actual secret government of the Illuminati, which is the potential executive power of the New World Order, is based in the underground of Mount Weather, which aims to take the government in the United States at the first appropriate occasion or at the first appropriate pretext. If I’m wrong, prove it to me! According to the records of the Constitutional Rights Senate Subcommittee’s 1975 hearings, Congress has almost no information, no knowledge, no budget reports or other areas related to the Mount Weather underground base. As long as the UFO phenomenon has existed there have been those looking to tap into it, shape it, mold it to their wishes, and convince others of their version of the “truth.” This way lies the myriad UFO cults existing out there, which range from the harmless to those that have ended in tragedy. These are some very weird stories of people who have somehow been convinced to believe some very fringe beliefs, often only on the word of one leader who exudes authority and who is respected as being in the know. Rarely have such UFO cults ended up in a good place, and here we will look at another such belief system based on UFOs and an enigmatic leader with some rather strange messages for the world.

The whole strange affair begins with a man named Sheldon Nidle. Born on November 11, 1946, he would later claim that almost from his very birth he had been contacted by alien intelligences from the planet Sirius, who were allegedly part of a larger “Galactic Federation.” These aliens apparently contacted him throughout his entire life, communicating with him telepathically, taking him into their spaceship, and implanting him with what he calls “direct core knowledge inserts.” He would claim that he was a “star seed from Sirius” destined to do great things. Nidle would say that he then ceased contact with the aliens for some time while he attended Ohio University and the University of Southern California, graduating with an M.A. in Southeast Asian government and an M.A. in American politics and international public administration, eventually earning a PhD and pursuing research into alternative energy sources. He is obviously no fool, well-educated and eloquent, but in the 1990s he would get back to talking about aliens again when he claimed that the Galactic Federation had approached him once more, making him their representative on Earth.

Sheldon Nidle

In 1996, Nidle began talking of telepathic communications he had had with the Federation that dealt with some urgent business, indeed. The aliens allegedly told him of an incoming cataclysm that would wipe out Earth as we know it. According to Nidle, the planet would be transformed into a more pristine state by passing into the path of what he called the “Photon Belt,” which was an area of space imbued with strange energy properties that would metamorphize human DNA and give us super powers and the ability to regenerate and live forever, as well as telepathic abilities. Are you with me so far? Sounds pretty awesome so far, but the intelligences also told Nidle that passing through the Photon Belt would destroy much of the surface of the planet, with only those who hid underground or were whisked away on spaceships assured to be safe. Luckily for us, Nidle also claimed that the aliens were drilling out subterranean caverns for us to cower in, as well as calling in a fleet of, wait, let me see if I’m reading this right, yes, 15 million spaceships ready to take many of us away from certain doom to join a “deep space brotherhood.”

At the time, we were running out of time, as the channeled messages stated that Earth would pass through this Photon Belt no later than December 17, 1996, but not to worry, because the fleet was closing in, due to arrive in early December, and most of humanity would be saved and achieve “a paradise of sociological and ecological evolution.” The ships on the way to our planet were said to be coming from numerous far-flung spacefaring races, such as the Pleiadians, Sirians, Cassopeans, and Arcturians, all of them willing to help us out, as well as apparently actual angels. Nidle would give one message that reads of all of this:

Our planet is moving from third dimensional awareness (physical-material reality-what you can see, feel, hear, taste and touch), to a fourth and a fifth-dimensional consciousness. In these dimensions you will be fully conscious, you will exist in a state of love not fear. You will be telepathic and have much more light in your body. You will be able to create anything you want with your mind and the new technology that will be provided for you. This technology will be beyond your wildest imagination. You will be able to live for hundreds or thousands of years. You will be completely healed of anything that is now wrong with you. You could be 85 years old now and manifest a 20-year-old body. Very soon, we will have millions of space ships and visitors from outer space on this planet. Our government knows this is happening but they want you to be afraid so they can keep life as it has been. Our visitors will be joined with angels that you will see coming down with the ships. They are benevolent and loving. They will bring counselors, supplies, teachers and new technology. We are being assisted by all of Creation – the Spiritual Hierarchy, Angelic Realms, the Galactic Federation of Light, Ascended Masters, and our space brothers and sisters.

You are very blessed and very special to be on this planet at this time. Within a short period of time our planet will be receiving the Photon Belt. This belt of light comes around every 25,000 years. This time it will be ushering in the Golden Age. The photon energy is an extremely loving energy that is comprised of Photons, Gamma Rays, and Anti-matter Particles. When the Photon Belt hits we will have three days of darkness and one day of coldness. Then we will have 16 years of light, 24 hours a day. You will become fully conscious within the first hour when the light beam hits your pineal gland. It will activate all 12 strands of your DNA and you will be able to use all of the rest (90%) of your brain that you currently have not been able to use. You will be able to create with your thought, whatever you need, light up a room, warm yourself, whatever you need. There is nothing to fear. A paradise is being created on this planet that is beyond your furthest imagination. We send much blessings of love and light to you.”

Pretty odd, indeed. There were some strict stipulations laid out for all of this awesome weird space stuff to pan out, such as neutralizing all earthly weapons, which were to be beamed up onto these spaceships, and all technology and mechanical devices were to be shut down upon the aliens’ arrival. We also had to agree to shut down all of our earthly government systems and give ourselves over to these beings, letting them take over with a “Spiritual Hierarchy,” which would help us ascend to higher beings. To help facilitate all of this, Nidle got online and began recruiting his “Ground Crew,” all of this almost exclusively done via the Internet, and this crew was given the task of acting as aides and ambassadors for the coming of the aliens, the training for which would be beamed into their heads as they slept through implant technology. They were also tasked with trying to raise spiritual awareness of what was to come, help us reach a “critical mass of spiritual energy,” and to carry out efforts to ecologically help out the planet. Unfortunately, even with all of these efforts, the aliens’ planned landing in December of 1996 never materialized. Many were dejected, but for Nidle this wasn’t a problem.

The leader of the Ground Crew simply blamed the failure of the arrival on numerous setbacks, such as solar storms, unforeseen technical issues, and humanity simply not being ready yet. It is pretty par for the course for any self-proclaimed prophet whose predictions did not come to pass, but he handled it like a pro. Nidle’s followers believed him and anxiously awaited their spiritual revolution. With the approach of the Hale-Bopp comet in February of 1997, Nidle found the perfect way to continue the mythology by working the comet into the lore, and for good measure he increased the number of approaching spacecrafts to 25 million (!). Nidle claimed that the comet was actually one immense starship with a crew of 20,000, that was merely using holographic cloaking technology to camouflage itself, and that it was followed not far behind by the rest of the massive fleet. To make it sound legit, Nidle even concocted a story that Ground Crew members had had a meeting with alien scouts in the Australian desert at Ayers Rock.

Of course, Hale-Bopp came and went with no such alien space force appearing, so Nidle was once again forced to think on his feet. He began spinning stories of “dark forces” seeking to sabotage the plans, forcing the benevolent forces to delay their arrival until “the right divine time.” According to Nidle, in the meantime we were to act as stewards of the planet and seek to help it recover ecologically and spiritually. Behind the scenes there was some turmoil within the organization, with Nidle clashing with his secretary and the Ground Crew’s chief administrator, Valerie Donnell, causing Nidle to break off and form the “Planetary Activation Organization,” still claiming to be the only one in direct contact with the aliens. His rhetoric would change and evolve, now saying that the aliens were placing “Star Gates” in the upper atmosphere and that there was a secret cabal of Earth leaders who were actively trying to stop the coming of the fleet. Somehow, even with the date of the supposed alien force pushed back again and again, Nidle was able to maintain hundreds of thousands of followers in 29 countries. The organization continues to this day, and we are left to wonder, how does this all keep chugging along? Whatever the case may be, it is certainly an entertaining and intriguing look into some far out stuff.

Linda Napolitano (who uses the pseudonym Linda Cortile), a young woman in her 20s claimed that in November 1989 she had been pulled by grey humanoids from her bedroom window while her husband was asleep next to her. Soon after this horrific incident, she contacted Budd Hopkins, an American UFO researcher who even wrote a book entitled “The True Story of the Brooklyn Bridge UFO Abductions,” describing the UFO events that occurred on November 30, 1989.

Napolitano, an Italian-American young woman said that on November 20, at 3:15 in the morning, she suddenly woke up, finding herself paralyzed, and saw three non-human figures, gray in color and with big heads that were floating in her bedroom. She could not call her husband as the beings told her in their language to stay quiet. She was pulled by a blue beam from her apartment’s window (on the 12th floor) in Manhattan. She was levitating inside that beam with three other aliens until they reached a giant spaceship that opened like a clam.

“I’m standing up on nothing. And they take me out all the way up, way above the building. Ooh, I hope I don’t fall. The UFO opens up almost like a clam and then I’m inside. I see benches similar to regular benches. And they’re bringing me down a hallway.

Interestingly, she did an x-ray of her head, and the doctor found something strange lodged inside her nose.

Actually, Hopkins got his interest in Napolitano’s case after he received a letter from Richard and Dan in 1991. Upon researching more on these two men, Hopkins found out that they were the bodyguards of an important political figure. Hopkins reportedly believes they were the bodyguards of former U.N. statesman, Javier Perez de Cuéllar.

The founder and director of Mutual UFO Network, Walter H. Andrus strongly believed Napolitano’s story and called it a “definitely authentic’ case of human abductions by aliens.”

However, there is much skepticism about Napolitano’s case. Some people compared it with the sci-fiction novel “Nighteyes,” originally published on March 1, 1989. But at the same time, there are 23 eyewitnesses who saw this strangeness that night.

Thousands of Stars Vanished from the Sky and Extraterrestrial advanced Civilizations is One of the Hypothesis

Over a period of 70 years, thousands of stars have vanished from the sky; Which prompted a team of astronomers to shed light on this phenomenon .. and perhaps a (very weak) hope of uncovering traces of intelligent civilizations outside the planet.

In a report published by the French magazine "L'OBS", writer Jean-Paul Fritz says that when looking at the sky on a clear night, it is possible to notice that the thousands of stars that appeared in astronomical images taken 70 years ago have disappeared, which seems strange to the assumed age of the stars.

In light of the many questions and hypotheses about the secret of the disappearance of these stars, a team of researchers from the "Vasco Network" of astronomy launched a scientific study to monitor the causes of this phenomenon.

The lost blue star

In the Kinman dwarf galaxy, which is about 75 million ly away, there was a very massive blue star, and astronomers saw this star between 2001 and 2011, and it is about 2.5 million times brighter than the sun.

But when the European Southern Observatory's telescope focused on it in 2019, it did not appear in the image, nor did it appear in repeated observations during the following months.

What happened to this star? 

This type of star - known as the "bright blue variant" - is unstable, but its disappearance in this way is incomprehensible because it is supposed to leave a mark!

For the researchers, there are two hypotheses: Either its recent explosion made it less bright and partially invisible due to interstellar dust, or it entered directly into a black hole without going through a "supernova" stage, which is a very rare event. Professor Jose Groh (one of the researchers involved in the study) comments, "We may have discovered that one of the largest stars in the observable universe slowly decays at night."

Study sample and alternative hypotheses

Given the various interpretations of this phenomenon, the Vasco network team - led by Beatrice Villarroil, a researcher at the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics in Spain - outlined its goals in a study published in The Astronomical Journal in December 2019.

In the first phase of the study, the team decided to compare 600 million stars that appeared in images taken by the US Naval Observatory in the 1950s, with a recent database from the Pan-STARRS Observatory. In a sample of 150,000 cases of difference between the images of the two observatories, the researchers selected 100 stars to further study the phenomenon of star disappearance.

What could explain the disappearance of a star? 

In theory, there are two main hypotheses: Either the star gradually changes and becomes a white dwarf due to the absence of nuclear reactions in its core, or it explodes in the last stages of its life, which is known as the "supernova" phenomenon. Either way, traces of these stars could be seen, but this was not the case for the lost stars studied by Vasco's team.

With the exclusion of the two previous hypotheses, the team had to find other causes for the disappearances, and scientists thought of other natural causes, such as the failure of the supernova process of the star, which may apply to the case of the disappearance of the blue star of the Kinman Dwarf galaxy.

There may also be another phenomenon that explains the matter, such as the passage of an irregular dark cloud of interstellar dust, which would obscure the star or reduce the brightness of its light; Hence, it cannot be spotted.

It can also be explained by what is known as a "gravitational micro-lens". In this case, a massive object might enlarge the image of the star behind it and make it appear temporarily even though it is not a star bright enough to see in normal situations. According to the author, these hypotheses seem interesting, and may lead to unprecedented discoveries that enrich our knowledge of stellar evolution.

Extraterrestrial advanced civilizations

Can we explain the disappearance of the stars by other reasons, and assume the existence of sane life outside the planet Earth? And can we think, for example, that very advanced civilizations may be the cause of this phenomenon because they built giant structures that mask the starlight.

This theory was formulated by physicist Freeman Dyson, and is known as "the Dyson ball," and he posits that there is a giant ball that captures the energy of the star in order to meet the needs of a more advanced civilization than ours. 

The SETI project - which is concerned with the search for extraterrestrial intelligence - is working to uncover any advanced extraterrestrial technology traces that could prove this theory.

According to the author, the study of Vasco can more accurately define the field of observation to try to understand these mysterious factors that lead to the disappearance of stars, which some explain by the existence of distant intelligent civilizations. By revealing where a large number of stars disappear, the SETI project or others interested in these theories can direct their observatories to try to discover the potential technological implications of these advanced civilizations.

It is unlikely, in any case, to discover any traces of strange civilizations, but the Vasco project will help solve a number of mysteries in space, and perhaps reveal phenomena not yet known. 

"Finding a lost star or a star that appears out of nowhere will be a valuable discovery, and it will provide new knowledge of astrophysics, beyond the ones we have reached until today," says Beatrice Villarroil.
