Most of the time, aliens descend from the sky (with or without anal probes) at moments when there’s just about no one around – or (usually) one absolute weirdo, who survives to tell the tale.

But a few times, the little green men have let their guard down.

A discussion on Reddit compiled people’s most convincing ‘proofs’ that we have been visited by extraterrestrials.

Most of these will – at the very least – make you wonder….

1) The Disclosure Project

‘On Wednesday, May 9th, 2001, over twenty military, intelligence, government, corporate and scientific witnesses came forward at the National Press Club in Washington, DC to provide their insight into ‘UFOs’.’

2) 1976 Tehran UFO Incident

One of the most well-documented military encounters with a UFO, this encounter saw two F-4 Phantom II jets losing control of communication and weapons systems as they approached a weird object in the sky over Iran.

Several military officers voiced the opinion that the object was not of terrestrial origin – and it was taken seriously enough that the President was informed.

3) Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man on the moon

Mitchell, who piloted the Apollo 14 landing module, has spoken regularly about his belief in aliens.

He claims that peace-loving aliens ‘stepped in’ during early tests of nuclear weapons, to prevent a nuclear war between America and Russia.

Edgar Mitchell, the sixth man to walk on the moon, claims that high-ranking military officials saw UFOs during weapons tests in the White Sands desert in New Mexico.

4) The Battle of Los Angeles

A rumoured enemy attack in 1942 led to air raid sirens and a huge anti-aircraft barrage – but then the authorities said it was all a false alarm.

Leaked photos, though, seemed to show lights and weapons trained on an actual alien spacecraft – and UFOlogists claim it was an attack by extraterrestrials.

5) The Westfall UFO Incident

This is one UFO encounter that’s hard to dismiss – because it happened at 11am, lasted 20 minutes, and was witnessed by 200 students and staff from a school in Westfall, Australia.

Reports have attempted to explain the encounter as being with a military target balloon or an experimental aircraft, but it has never been fully ‘solved’.

(Very) Local SETI: The Launch of a New UFO Science

Last July, Russian billionaire Yuri Milner announced the launch of a bold $100 million project "to reinvigorate the search for life in the universe." The amplified SETI initiative is "the most powerful, comprehensive and intensive scientific search ever undertaken for signs of intelligent life beyond Earth," according to the project's website.

"The chance of finding life has risen a billion-fold when we realized that Earth-like planets are not rare, but that there are literally billions of them just within our own galaxy," Astronomer Royal Lord Martin Rees stated at the time. Noting that the payoff could be "colossal," he wondered whether alien life to be discovered could be organic, or maybe "machines created by long long-dead civilizations."

As someone who has studied official UFO/UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) documentation for many years, I was naturally inspired -- even elated -- by this announcement. But at the same time, I couldn't help relating it to my all too keen awareness of the taboo against taking UFOs seriously, despite the obvious relationship of UFO phenomena to the quest for finding extraterrestrial life. After all, couldn't some UFOs be the machines that Rees referred to? And must they belong only to dead civilizations?

There is no sign that Milner's team will include our own solar system among the many others that it will search for signs of intelligent life. Most scientists have repeatedly stated that whatever data (if any) we have on UFOs are insufficient for study. Yet, as I made clear in my book UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record, there is plenty of evidence for the existence of unexplained aerial phenomena, and some governments (such as France and Chile), in cooperation with their own scientific teams, have made this a matter of official record.

Even so, the larger, multi-disciplinary search for extraterrestrial intelligence, seeking even the tiniest and most wide ranging clues, has never given a nod to this "forbidden realm" of intriguing, highly suggestive evidence -- in fact, it has been completely ignored. And at the same time, SETI has yet to find any evidence for extraterrestrial intelligence in its effort to detect radio signals or light from distant locations "that would reveal the presence of technically sophisticated beings," as SETI describes it.

But now, for the first time, a new group of scientists and other professionals is determined to change this outdated and unbalanced scenario, once and for all. Yes, we do need more scientific data on UFOs -- but who is going to provide it?

In October 2013, I attended a meeting led by Mark Rodeghier, scientific director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies, and political scientist Alexander Wendt, whom some of you might recognize as a co-author of the chapter "Militant Agnosticism and the UFO Taboo" from my book, to solidify a new, rigorously scientific approach to the UFO problem. Rodeghier and Wendt have since formed a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization called UFO Detection and TrAcking (UFODATA for short), which includes an international team of scientists and engineers with an interest in UFOs, including (among others) Massimo Teodorani, Dave Akers and Erling Strand, as well as several academic "silent partners" who do not want to be publicly identified. "We are establishing this project out of frustration with the impasse that the UFO debate has been at for over sixty years," Wendt says.

I acknowledge my own current involvement: I accepted Rodeghier and Wendt's invitation to join their Board of Directors, along with Philippe Ailleris, Project Controller at the Space Research and Technology Centre of the European Space Agency.

The organization has one goal and one goal only: to design, build and deploy a global network of automated surveillance stations that will monitor the skies full time looking for UFOs. UFODATA has no interest in alleged government conspiracies or adding more witness reports or FOIA documents to the thousands already on file. The idea here is that only a complete change of methodology toward a purely scientific approach to the UFO issue will enable us to move forward.

The monitoring stations, of which UFODATA eventually hopes to have dozens, will contain a suite of sophisticated instruments that will record numerous physical characteristics of any UFOs that appear in their range. They will all send their data back to a central location. Current projections are that the stations will cost about $10-20,000 each, thanks to the unprecedented convergence of high resolution digital camera technologies, off-the shelf scientific instrumentation, powerful low-cost computing platforms and far-reaching high-speed internet access. UFODATA will rely on crowd funding to finance the stations, allowing the millions of people who take UFOs seriously to be involved in the effort, independent of the scientific establishment. Some supporters may wish to host a station in their own location or offer their expertise to the organization.

The campaign will unfold in two phases initially. First, it will focus on filling gaps in its volunteer technical staff and on raising enough money by word of mouth to build a prototype station. This prototype will serve as a technical testbed, providing concrete evidence of capabilities to support Phase Two, which will launch the formal crowd-funding campaign. Phase Two will have a larger financial target, to fulfill the objective of building a small but fully functioning network of stations which will begin collecting data and also attract additional media, scientific and public attention to support further network development.

"Are we really alone? Or are there others out there? It's one of the biggest questions," the Milner announcement reads. "And only science can answer it." We completely agree. Rodeghier points out that we are simply taking SETI to its logical limit -- local SETI. "Several researchers interested in the conventional search for ET have pushed the boundaries to suggest that it is not misguided to search in the solar system, including around the moon, for ET artifacts or other evidence for extraterrestrial intelligence," he says. "But they have rejected looking in near-Earth orbit. Logically this prohibition makes no sense, and so with UFODATA we will also break the taboo of searching for signs of ET right here, not just millions of kilometers away."

He points out that SETI has spent huge amounts of money over fifty years with no success. "Why not, in comparison, take a few years with modest funding to study UFO evidence close to home?"

Short of US government recognition that UAP are worthy of investigation, I believe that this grassroots initiative is the best effort we can make to move toward a rational answer to the UFO question. Ironically, sidestepping government to study UFOs in this way could also ultimately help win respect for the issue within the political (as well as scientific) establishment. UFODATA should appeal to those who are tired of the misplaced certainties on both sides of the UFO debate -- conspiracy theorists convinced that UFOs are extraterrestrial spacecraft and debunkers equally convinced that UFOs don't even exist. Precisely because so little science has been done on UFOs, humanity is actually quite ignorant about what they are. This is a unique moment for something radically different, with the potential to unite all of us in a pivotal, larger goal. We now have the opportunity to elevate UFO investigations so that they become part of the larger scientific search for extraterrestrial life and will eventually be recognized as such by the world community.

For now, we remain agnostic about the nature and origin of UFOs. However, "whether or not we find any ETs, this will constitute a radical breakthrough in both the study and status of the UFO problem," says Wendt. "And if it does turn up any ETs, well, that would be one of the most important events in human history..."

Did Hitler plan to attack London and New York in UFOs?

As Hitler’s armies began to crumble on fronts as far apart as Stalingrad and North Africa, he turned in increasing desperation to his scientists to create a war-winning super-weapon.

Some, like the V2 rockets and the first jet fighters, saw action but came too late to halt defeat.

Others were so outrageously ambitious that they never got past the drawing board. The idea of building flying saucers to bomb London and even New York could have been just such a scheme.

But now it is claimed that Hitler’s scientists had indeed designed this type of aircraft – and were so far advanced with the project that a prototype may even have flown.

The programme, under the command of SS officer Hans Kammler, was said to have made significant breakthroughs with their experiments, says a report in the German science magazine PM.

It quotes eyewitnesses who believe they saw a flying saucer marked with the Iron Cross of the German military flying low over the Thames in 1944.

‘The Americans also treated the existence of the weapons seriously,’ it adds.

At the time the New York Times had written about a ‘mysterious flying disc’ and published photos of the device travelling at high speeds over the city’s high-rise buildings.

The magazine says that the Germans destroyed much of the paperwork on their activities but in 1960 in Canada UFO experts managed to recreate the device which, to their amazement, ‘did actually fly’.

The project was called the Schriever-Habermohl scheme. Rudolf Schriever was an engineer and test pilot, Otto Habermohl an engineer. It was based in Prague between 1941 and 1943.

Initially a Luftwaffe plan after Hitler ordered his airforce chief Hermann Goering to come up with a super-weapon, it was eventually taken over in 1944 by Kammler.

Prisoners of the Allies claimed to have seen the silvery flying saucer, which was about six yards across, on several occasions.

Joseph Andreas Epp, an engineer on the project, said 15 prototypes were built.

He described how a central cockpit was surrounded by rotating adjustable wing-vanes which formed a circle and gave the craft lift.

After take-off, horizontal jets or rockets were ignited.

After the war, many former nazi German scientists helped with the U.S. space programme.

The theory is further fueled by the claims of Igor Witkowski, a Polish former journalist and historian of military and aerospace technology.

In his book, ‘Prawda O Wunderwaffe’ in 2000, he claims that a bell-shaped craft was being created by the Nazis and that Hitler wanted the best scientists and engineers at his disposal.

If Aliens Exist, Would They Have Sex?

Humans love to ponder whether alien life is out there, and what it might look like. So here's a burning question: Would extraterrestrials have sex?

The question isn't entirely prurient. The evolution of sex is a tricky subject. Sexual reproduction is costly. It requires finding a mate, convincing that mate to mingle DNA with you, and opening yourself up to the possibility of sexually transmitted disease or predation while you're busy wooing.

All that considered, and it might not even result in viable offspring. After all, mixing and matching a genome is a crapshoot, said Sally Otto, director of the Biodiversity Research Centre at the University of British Columbia.

7 Huge Misconceptions About Aliens

1.They might not exist

The widespread notion that life probably exists on many or all of the other habitable planets in the universe is largely based on the observation that it arose relatively quickly here on Earth — within a few hundred million years of the planet's formation. But in truth, we know next to nothing about the likelihood of that momentous event. Despite decades of Frankenstein-like effort, we haven't even come close to triggering the genesis of life in the lab.

"Abiogenesis," or life arising from lifeless chemicals, could be exceedingly rare. Life on Earth could be an anomaly.

If you think it improbable that life would only happen once — and that that life would happen be us — that's now known to be a misconception. A pair of Princeton astrophysicists recently applied a new kind of statistical analysis to the early timing of the genesis of life on Earth, and determined that Earth's history says absolutely nothing about the probability of life arising elsewhere. Aliens could be everywhere; they could be nowhere.

2.They won't come in 'person'

As a civilization advances, it tends to let machines do its dirty work. Cars replace horses, nuclear bombs replace infantries, drones replace fighter jets; it's all about increasing efficiency. This rule of thumb can be generalized as an effort by living things to resist the second law of thermodynamics, or the rule that disorder tends to increase in the universe. In fact, "life" is sometimes even defined as an entity that struggles for order. The tenet of physics holds true cosmos-wide, and so any race of beings would be expected to advance in a similar fashion to humans, gradually becoming more and more efficient through the invention of machinery. By the time an alien race is sophisticated enough to trek between stars, they'll more than likely do it from the comfort of their home planet.

"Chances are, the first invaders will be some sort of artificially intelligent machinery," Shostak said.

3.They won't mate with

Human DNA can't combine with XYZ, or whatever it is that encodes alien life. "The idea that they've come for breeding purposes is more akin to wishful thinking by members of the audience who don't have good social lives," Shostak told IEEE Spectrum. 4. They won't eat us

Just as they would not be recognized by the local pathogens as potential hosts, aliens would also not recognize Earth's organic matter as a potential food source. They couldn't digest us. And they probably wouldn't need to, anyway. As Jacob Haqq-Misra, an astronomer at Pennsylvania State University, pointed out, "A society capable of interstellar travel should have solved their development issues such that they do not need humans for food."

5.They're immune to Earth's bacteria

Alien visitors to Earth are occasionally depicted in science fiction as being brought down by their own alien nature. Lacking immunity to Earth-based bacteria, they all die of infections. This wouldn't really happen. "Alien life forms wouldn't come here only to be done in by our bacteria, unless they were related biochemically to humans," Shostak told IEEE Spectrum. "Bacteria would have to be able to interact with their biochemistry to be dangerous, and their ability to do that is far from a sure thing."

6.They didn't put us here

A popular fringe theory holds that humans are alien's gift to Earth. Some people say we were delivered here during a near pass to Earth of a life-bearing planet called Nibiru. This alleged planet, which has not actually been observed by astronomers, is said to skirt the edges of the solar system and swing inward from time to time. [A Field Guide to Alien Planets]

"I get emails every week saying that Homo sapiens are the result of alien intervention," Shostak said. "I'm not sure why aliens would be interested in producing us. I think people like to think we're special. But isn't that what got Galileo and Copernicus into trouble — questioning how special we were? But if we're just another duck in the road, it's not very exciting."

7. Aliens.

A typical Hollywood alien is "soft, squishy and big on mucus," in the words of Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, Calif. These sci-fi lumps of goo are inclined to abduct us, probe us, hover above us and even walk among us (in disguise, of course). But far beyond Hollywood's limited scope, aliens might really exist. What are they like, and how would they actually handle a human encounter? Astrobiologists have deduced a few answers by combining their knowledge of life on Earth with their understanding of the cosmos as a whole. Their profile of ET might not be what you expected.

Potential parents "know their genome works in the current environment," Otto told Live Science. "They know they survived to reproduce. And here they are, shuffling their genomes together with another individual. … You have no idea if that combination is going to survive and be fit."

And yet, sexual reproduction is very common on Earth. And given the conditions in which sex evolved, it's quite possible that aliens might get busy, too.

Swapping genes

Not all life on Earth requires sex for reproduction. Amoebas, yeast and millimeter-long freshwater hydra all manage to create offspring solo, as do many invertebrates. So do some surprisingly complex animals: Virgin births have been reported in Komodo dragons, pit vipers and sharks.

There are species, like the tiny crustacean Daphnia middendorffiana, that can only reproduce asexually. But sex appears to go way back. There are few very old lineages that are entirely asexual, Otto said. [Photos: Bizarre Sex Lives of Hermaphrodite Sea Slugs]

Amoebas, for example, date back at least a billion years, long before multicellular life evolved. For a long time, scientists thought amoebas were purely asexual. In 2011, however, researchers from the University of Massachusetts announced that they had discovered amoeba sex.

In fact, swapping genes is the norm for life on Earth. Bacteria, for example, are prokaryotes, meaning they don't have membrane-enclosed nuclei. (Eukaryotes, including both amoebas and animals, have cells with nuclei and other organelles closed in with membranes.) Bacteria don't have sex, Otto said, but they do take up new DNA by swallowing other bacteria or as a result of being infected with viruses or circular DNA molecules called plasmids. The inadvertent genetic gains can benefit bacteria by increasing genetic diversity, thus raising the chances that a new genetic sequence will confer some sort of survival benefit.

Sexual evolution

It's possible, Otto said, that deliberate sexual reproduction arose with the evolution of eukaryotic cells because all those internal membranes prevented the frequent accidental uptake of foreign DNA.

So, one question that might determine whether aliens have sex, Otto said, is what their cells look like.

"Do they evolve nuclei or other ways of protecting their DNA inside a series of membranes?" she said. If extraterrestrial life is equipped with nuclei, they might benefit from sex.

Another thing that Planet Xenon might need to prompt the evolution of sex is change.

Sex is very beneficial to organisms because the environment is rarely static, Otto explained. Offspring may have to deal with challenges that are slightly different from those of their parents' generation. As long as change is a constant, genetic variation is helpful.

If an alien planet had, for some reason, constant weather, temperature and other environmental factors, "sex would have mainly costs, but no benefits," Otto said.

Best of both worlds

Assuming alien planets aren't entirely static, extraterrestrials might try to get the best of both worlds. Some aphids (small insects that suck plant juice) clone themselves asexually when food is abundant. In fact, Otto said, these cloning aphids can have not only their babies inside them but also their babies' babies, "like a set of Russian nesting dolls."

"That really speeds up reproduction when resources are plenty," she said.

At the end of the growing season, though, the aphids switch to sexual reproduction. This switch to sex during times of stress is a common pattern. Some water flea species spring for sex when food supplies drop or when the environment becomes hostile, according to a 1981 study in the journal The American Naturalist. Yeast simply bud off new offspring most of the time, but the yeast Candida tropicalis can also reproduce sexually, researchers reported in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in 2011.

One stress that might prompt the evolution of sex on an alien planet might be alien parasites. Researchers reporting in 2011 in the journal Science found that, when given the choice, organisms pick sex over asexuality when parasites threaten, likely because sexual reproduction gives them more genetic weapons to use in the evolutionary arms race against their parasite foes.

In that study, researchers genetically modified roundworms called Caenorhabditis elegans so that some could only reproduce sexually and some only asexually. A third group was left to switch between asexual and sexual reproduction at will.

Then, the researchers exposed the worms to parasitic bacteria. They found that asexual C. elegans exposed to evolving bacteria went extinct in fewer than 20 generations. Sexual C. elegans did just fine, as did worms that could switch back and forth.

Other studies have shown similar results in yeast and other organisms that can switch from no sex to sex in tough conditions.

Hot stuff?

But even if aliens do have sex, it might not be the sort of thing people watch on pay-per-view.

In amoeba sex, for example, the cell partitions off packets of genetic material and then recombines them, either with another amoeba or with packets from other amoebas. Sexually reproducing yeast cells find each other, grow projections, merge and mate. The hermaphroditic C. elegans worm wiggles its body against another worm until it finds the vulva and then inserts needlelike structures called spicules into the opening to deliver sperm, according to WormBook, an open-access resource on C. elegans biology. Even for fuzzier, more familiar animals, sex can get downright weird. The marsupial Antechinus, which lives in Australia and New Guinea, mates in a frenzy over about two weeks. Males often ambush females and copulate with them for up to 14 hours. The effort of their multiple marathon sex sessions takes such a toll on males that they start to bleed internally and lose all immune function. They rarely survive the breeding season. Hyena males have to mount females with care because the female clitoris is so large that it resembles a penis. And some male bats even stimulate females' genitalia with their tongues.

In other words, aliens might have sex, or they might not. But one thing's for sure: It'd be harder to invent something stranger than what already exists here on Earth.

We believe yes, and there are numerous incredible archaeological findings which indicate that thousands, and even millions of years ago, civilizations with extremely advanced technology existed on our planet and just like us, called Earth ‘home’. These ancient civilizations could have had far superior knowledge and technology than we have today. And what if all of mankind’s ‘modern inventions’ are nothing more than re-inventions of the past? Found in the Ural Mountains in Russia, these objects have caused quite a buzz since their discovery. The tiny structures are believed to have been the product of an extremely ancient civilization that was capable of developing nanotechnology about 300,000 years ago. The age of these mysterious nanostructures have placed them in the list of “out of place artifacts” given the fact that researchers estimate them to be around 300,000 years old. The Russian Academy of sciences performed several tests on these mysterious objects and the results were quite interesting. Researchers found out that the largest pieces that were unearthed were made almost entirely out of copper and the smaller ones from tungsten and molybdenum.

The materials were submitted to a more extensive research a couple of years after their discovery to find out more about the mysterious objects and their composition and according to the Russian Academy of Science and their department for Geology; the metals have not originated in nature on their own, meaning that they are components that have a artificial technological origin, in other words they were manufactured.

Kenneth Arnold’s alien UFO reflections imply time’s bidirectional arrow

Vancouver, BC – An exclusive video published to YouTube on June 18, 2014, purported to reveal alien origins behind what the Atlantic magazine had cited as a 1947 UFO incident that “introduced the world to flying saucers.” The unprecedented video report filtered pilot Kenneth Arnold’s spoken witness testimony through a lossless digital audio mirror to demonstrate his unconscious sleep talking-like narrative indicating contact with “alien UFOs” during three separate interviews recorded over a thirty year period. This new evidence emerged prior to publication of scientific research suggesting how the thermodynamic arrow of time points in two distinct directions.

Authenticating the pilot’s testimony in the absence of any photographic or other instrumental record offered significant progress in a stagnant research climate where legacy UFO scientists demanded improved methods of witness interrogation. In his evaluation of Project Blue Book as an attempt by the United States Air Force to cover up valid phenomena, astronomer and former United States government UFO scientist Dr. J. Allen Hynek once cited the absence of any Blue Book-improved method of comprehensive witness interrogation.

This critique suggested how Dr. Hynek envisioned possible witness testimony rich in additional details being overlooked by investigators intent upon enforcing an official doctrine of ignorance and denial regarding the existence of UFOs (along with implications of intelligent operators). Evidence of such doctrine can be found in the Durant Report from the CIA Robertson Panel of 1953 which recommended a policy of public smear campaigns targeting individuals claiming UFO sightings and extraterrestrial contact.

On January 12, 2015, researcher and media producer John Greenewald announced his publication of the government archives to The Black Vault website, stating “I am very excited to announce that after months of collecting, programming and converting, I’ve completed a database of 130,000 pages, consisting of more than 10,000 cases, of the Project Blue Book files (including Sign and Grudge). Although some sites exist out there with some of these files, many are not complete, nor do they have the records in a searchable, .PDF format. This new site has it all, is easily navigable, searchable, and free.”

On June 24, 1947, private aircraft operator Kenneth Arnold told staff at an air strip in Yakima, Washington, how he saw nine supersonic UFOs traveling in formation between Mt. Rainer and Mt. Adams earlier that afternoon. He would participate in a number of subsequent media interviews over a period of thirty years, of which at least three are available online. The new video draws from his June 26, 1947, KWRC radio interview, a May, 1949, CBS Radio Special Report along with on-camera statements reportedly offered during the June 24, 1977, First International UFO Congress in Chicago.

The video subjects these recordings of Kenneth Arnold’s spoken testimony to lossless digital mirror filtering whereby portions of the audio reveal apparently intelligible phrases encrypted backwards within his speech. It is a matter of public record that this innovative analytic procedure (popularized through late-night talk radio during the 1990’s) has revealed the signatures of unconscious sleep talking-like communications disclosing verifiably factual information characterized by military, forensic and clinical precision that anticipated details of the Iraq War, identified the BTK Killer and disclosed Edward Snowden’s UFOs.

Three recurring incidents of any event can invoke notions of planned intelligent actions. Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Norman Mineta has illustrated his personal plan-detecting methodology by citing the rule of three on a number of occasions as expressed in the maxim “omne trium perfectum” (Latin: “Everything that comes in groups of three is complete”).

“When you see one of something happen, it’s an accident. When you see two of the same thing happening, it’s a trend. When you see three, it’s a plan,” said the former transportation secretary.

By such a Mineta standard it can be understood that multiple incidents of the term “alien” encrypted backwards within the recorded spoken testimony of pilot and UFO witness Kenneth Arnold over a 30-year period are no accident and not simply a pattern but are in fact indicative of planned communications leading to the unfoldment of human consciousness and the integration of modern civilization with a larger cosmic society.

The publication of new evidence in support of pilot Kenneth Arnold’s 1947 UFO claims provided new and unprecedented insight into a case that evidenced the power of terrestrial media to capture the public imagination (in what has now become a meme-driven online environment). Concurrently, reported secret messages describing aliens and UFOs appear to contradict orthodox notions of time both in the production of backwards real-time encryption and in transmitting acronyms that would not be formalized until the next decade, years after their appearance in the 1947 KWRC radio interview.

While scientists including Professor & Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the UC Irvine School of Social Sciences Kourosh Saberi acknowledge human speech as a multidimensional stimulus, there is presently no published neurological theory that explains the existence of these communications as native to brain performance in human speech behavior. The messages also appear in defiance of the arrow of time as defined by physics, in which time and all time-dependent events flow in one direction only, from past to present to future. The notion of a past which itself originates from the future appears to evade such discussions.

Two distinct, symmetric and opposite arrows of time were recently identified in research that suggests how time’s arrow may move concurrently in two directions. Those findings published this past October in Physical Review Letters explained how a simple “big bang” computer simulation demonstrated the influence of Newtonian gravity on particles expanding outwards along two temporal pathways.

“The authors study one of the simplest possible systems: a collection of N point particles interacting through Newtonian gravity. Their only assumptions are that the total energy (potential plus kinetic) and the total angular momentum of the system are zero. From earlier numerical simulations and analytic analysis, it is known that in the distant future, such a system tends to break up into weakly interacting subsystems—typically, pairs of masses in Keplerian orbits. Starting with such a dispersed system and running time backwards, one might expect that it would coalesce in the past into a state of high density. Barbour and his coauthors show analytically that this expectation is right: for almost every initial configuration of masses, there is a unique moment of minimum size and maximum uniformity. From this point, the system expands outward, approximately symmetrically in both directions of time.”

If the term UFO was officially created in 1953 by the United States Air Force, it also appears in the secret messages derived from a 1947 radio broadcast. This observation may represent wishful thinking and bias on the part of the observer or could provide further evidence of time-independent functions of the human brain in which the past, present and future are all perceived as elements of a singular continuum.

The filtering procedure used to mirror Kenneth Arnold’s spoken testimony has been cited above for its power to forecast future events. Perhaps the apparently time-independent nature of these communications lend themselves best to revealing information that resides beyond the horizon of conventional human time perception, disclosing now-common acronyms that would not come into usage until six years later.

The following partial transcript of Kenneth Arnold’s three interviews describing the events of June 24, 1947, was edited for clarity.

Aliens won’t attack: (1947) As I kept looking at them I kept looking for their tails. They didn’t have any tails. I thought, well, maybe something’s wrong with my eyes. I turned the plane around and opened the window and looked out the window and sure enough I couldn’t find any tails on them. The whole observation of these particular ships didn’t last more than about two and a half minutes. I could see them only plainly when they seemed to tip their wing (or whatever it was) and the sun flashed on them.

Saw my spaceship. A UFO: (1947) They looked something like a pie plate that was cut in half with sort of a convex triangle in the rear. I thought that maybe they’re jet planes with just the tails painted green or brown and didn’t think too much of it but kept on watching them. They didn’t fly in the conventional formation that’s taught in our army. They seemed to weave in and out right above the mountain tops. I would say that they even went down into the canyons in several instances probably 100 feet.

Aliens. Listen. Laugh. They’re real: (1949) They passed almost directly in front of me but at a distance of about 23 miles (which is not very great in the air). I judged the wingspan to be at least 100 feet across. The sighting did not particularly disturb me at the time except that I had never seen planes of that type.

Alien. Need the plan: (1977) Right here we’ve seen something. I’ve seen something. Hundreds of pilots have seen something in the skies. We have dutifully reported these things. And we have to have 15 million witnesses before anybody is going to look into the problem seriously? Why this is utterly fantastic. This is more fantastic than flying saucers or people from Venus or anything as far as I’m concerned.

Could mysterious KIC 8462852 star be home to an ALIEN megastructure?

Could this be the smoking gun that proves we are not alone in the universe?

Scientists are baffled by a strange mess of objects that are circling around a distant star, prompting speculation there could be an ALIEN megastructure out there in space.

The Kepler Space Telescope has picked out KIC 8462852, 1,480 light-years away from Earth, as being of particular interest.

KIC 8462852 appears to be giving off a series of bizarre light fluctuations that are so far unexplained.

Tabetha Boyajian, a postdoc at Yale, told the Atlantic that nobody has ever seen anything like the KIC 8462852 star.

Her report on KIC 8462852 goes into great detail about possible explanations for the star.

She said: “It was really weird. We thought it might be bad data or movement on the spacecraft, but everything checked out.”

The star in question appears to be mature, which means typical explanations for when a mess of matter is circling a star do not apply.

Jason Wright, an astronomer from Penn State University, is among those looking into the star, with investigators from the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) also interested.

“When [Boyajian] showed me the data, I was fascinated by how crazy it looked,” Wright said.

“Aliens should always be the very last hypothesis you consider, but this looked like something you would expect an alien civilisation to build.”

Author of the UFO Investigations Manual Nigel Watson agrees that aliens are a possible explanation for KIC 8462852.

He said: “This is the next best thing to getting a direct message from an advanced extraterrestrial civilisation, as it suggests some form of alien activity. Unfortunately, much like the search for alien radio communications there are plenty of alternative possibilities for these latest findings.

“The search for radio signals or Dyson spheres are based on our own human assumptions about technology, and very possibly advanced aliens are impossible for us to contact or imagine. We can only hope we will stumble on civilisations that have evolved in a similar way to us and have developed technology much like our own.

“Otherwise SETI is a futile enterprise, though KIC 8462852 does give us a glimmer of hope that we are not alone in this vast universe.”

Not even close encounters: If UFOs really exist, why would intelligent life forms use 1950s earth technology to travel here?

When people hear that I am a professional astronomer, they often ask "Do you believe in UFOs?" Sometimes they say, "I have seen a UFO…" and then proceed to describe their incredible encounter. Quite often they say they saw a bright light in the sky; some describe it moving at high speed and following them.

These types of stories are quite common among UFO believers. In 1967, police officers in 11 counties in the US state of Georgia chased after a reported UFO for several days - until someone told them they were chasing the planet Venus.

Venus is the brightest celestial object in the sky after the sun and moon. Since many city folk are not accustomed to viewing the sky, they are often astonished when they suddenly catch a glimpse of Venus. It can at times be very bright, even in early morning or late afternoon light. When the observer is in a moving vehicle, he often has the illusion that Venus is chasing after him. When I hear reports of UFOs, my first response is usually, "Which direction was it?" If the person says west, I then ask, "What time of day did you see it?" If they answer, "In the evening," I reply, "It is quite likely you saw Venus".

Casual observers have been known to confuse planes, balloons, meteors, fireballs, clouds and optical atmospheric phenomena with UFOs. Our skies are crowded with artificial satellites that move quickly across the sky. When sunlight reflects on them, they may be perceived as UFOs.

UFO believers may accuse me of being narrow-minded or conservative. But I would argue that it is they who are conservative. If an alien civilisation was capable of space travel and came hundreds of light years to reach us, why would they travel in a primitive mechanical device? Why would their spacecraft emit visible light, when they have the entire electromagnetic spectrum available? We forget that visible light is only a very narrow part of the spectrum, and our eyes are tuned to this narrow part to take maximum advantage of sunlight.

Intelligent life forms other than humans likely exist, and may already be among us. But would we recognise them?

Our galaxy is 10 billion years old and has 100 billion stars. There are probably more than 100 billion planets in it. It is therefore not unreasonable to think that it contains other intelligent life forms, and we are not alone. We must, however, remember that we are a very young and primitive civilisation. Humans have been around for only 100,000 years, and we have been capable of distant communication for only about 100 years. Given the age of our galaxy, probability suggests that if there are alien civilisations in it, they will be millions of years older and technologically far more advanced.

We cannot imagine technologies 100 years from now, let alone 1,000 years. I am sure, however, that visiting aliens won't be using 1950s earth technology, which is what a light-emitting flying saucer is. If extraterrestrials visit our planet, they will travel in forms that are entirely unknown and invisible to us. They may actually be here already.

If you dropped a thumb drive onto a street in Paris or London 100 years ago and someone picked it up, would they know that it contained thousands of songs, hours of movies and volumes of books? Would they have any idea what it was? Almost certainly not. This is what technological progress can do - and that is only a few decades, not thousands of years.

UFO believers are often adamant about what they have seen and describe their encounters as emotional or even spiritual experiences. They can be highly educated. It is very difficult to convince them that they are probably wrong.

I think the physicist Richard Feynman said it very well: "It is much more likely that the reports of flying saucers are the results of the known irrational characteristics of terrestrial intelligence than of the unknown rational efforts of extraterrestrial intelligence." Along this line of thought, I suggest that UFO studies should be pursued as a branch of psychological research. There are more mysteries in the human mind than bright lights in the sky.

DEMONT: The mystery of Shag Harbour, 48 years on

Museum of photos, articles about alleged UFO sightings still draws many visitors

The Chronicle Herald published an article Oct. 7, 1967, about alleged sightings of a UFO at Shag Harbour.

There’s always something spooky weird about places meant for people — fairgrounds, amusement parks, hotels, seaside holiday spots — during the off-season.

The UFO museum in Shag Harbour is no exception.

A kindly woman named Dorothy Nickerson was there when I arrived Wednesday, a few weeks after the museum closed for the year. Outside, the wind howled, but it was quiet in the museum, which possessed the kind of stillness that can give you the feeling someone has just left.

I arrived, as is obvious, in a Fox Mulder frame of mind. Because 48 years is long enough to wait to see if the truth is actually out there where the land ends on the southwest corner of this province.

Nickerson was a young busy mother of four back on Oct. 4, 1967. So it was the next day before she learned the village was abuzz over something strange that had been glimpsed flying over the nearby waters.

It’s all there in the clippings and photos on the walls of the converted store on Shag Harbour’s main drag.

How a range of witnesses saw an object with orange flashing lights flying from the northwest. How the unidentified object was said to emit a loud noise — in some cases, described as a whistle; in others, a whoosh — as it flew over them. And how, picking up speed, the object hit the water with a loud noise and then seemed to glide along, either on or in the water, before disappearing.

All it left behind, according to a Chronicle Herald story headlined “Could be Something Concrete in Shag Harbour UFO — RCAF”, was “an extremely large patch of bubbling water and foam.” That and a nearly half-century mystery that people just can’t seem to let go of.

There’s a Shag Harbour “incident” stamp. Books have been written about it, including one called Dark Object with the intriguing subtitle, The World’s Only Government-Documented UFO Crash, and films and television shows shot about it.

Go online and it’s like Canada’s Roswell just happened. This summer, they had to add a couple of days to the village’s annual UFO festival.

All told, more than 1,500 people visited the museum from June to September. Some of them are skeptics, but just as many are believers who make references in the museum guest book to The X-Files, the sci-fi movie classic The Day the Earth Stood Still and alleged UFO sightings elsewhere. One woman named Michelle just wrote “wants to believe.”

“Nobody around here thinks it was some little green men,” says Nickerson, who housed the museum in her barn until it outgrew the space.

“But there was something there.”

Count the museum’s vice-chairwoman, Dale Nickerson — perhaps some distant relative to Dorothy — among that group. She was just a schoolgirl living in nearby Woods Harbour that night 48 years ago.

“We’re trying to stay away from the alien stuff at the museum in the future,” she said over the telephone.

That moment isn’t quite yet. As well as displaying UFO literature and a series of hand-painted rocks showing what the aliens’ journey might have been like after their crash, the museum sells UFO cookie cutters, alien-themed plates and Star Wars paraphernalia.

I can hear Dale shrug across the phone line when I ask what she thinks went down in those waters.

The Cold War was underway, she points out; lots of weird things were flying around in lots of places back then.

“If it was Canadian, American or Russian, I really don’t know.”

If any government knows the answer, the 50th anniversary of the event in 2017 would be a great time to reveal it.

“On the one hand, I would love to know,” Dale says.

“On the other hand, the mystery is gone, and I guess so is the museum.”

One in four Ukip voters believe that aliens have made contact but the government has covered it up.

A YouGov survey found that 24 per cent of people who support Ukip think that extra-terrestrial life has been in touch but the government is suppressing the news.

Some 18 per cent of Labour voters and 14 per cent of Conservative voters believe the same, while only eight per cent of Liberal Democrats agree.

While just 12 per cent of men agree that there is a government cover-up, 25 per of women believe the same.

Asked whether they thought humans were created by God or another higher being, 24 per cent of Tories agreed with the statement, while just 10 per cent of Labour voters supported the idea.

The survey comes after Nasa scientists confirmed that water exists in liquid form on the surface of Mars, making it possible for life to be sustained on the Red Planet.

Nasa hailed the “strongest evidence yet” of intermittent flows of briny water on Mars after scientists identified hydrated salts in dark streaks that ebb and flow down the planet’s slopes.

The dark marks, which appear in summer months, are thought to be caused by the salty water wicking up from a shallow flow beneath the surface – although the origins of the briny flows remain a mystery.

Humans will be living and working on Mars in colonies entirely independent of Earth by the 2030s, Nasa has also said.

The US space organisation has released its plan for establishing permanent settlements on the Red Planet, setting out in detail plans to create ‘deep-space habitation facilities’ which will act as stepping stones to Mars.

In a new report entitled ‘Journey to Mars’ Nasa said the mission was ‘historic pioneering endeavor’ similar to the early settlers in America and Moon landing.

Mind Blowing proof of Alien Activity in new NASA images

The batch of images released to the public of the Apollo missions earlier this week is perhaps the most exciting and ultimate proof of extraterrestrial activity. UFO hunters are extremely excited as they discovered numerous anomalies in the images of the Apollo missions. One of the images in particular is believed to show a mysterious object with three glimmering lights: According to ufologist an extraterrestrial vehicle.

According to editor of ufosightingsdaily Scott C. Waring, there are numerous UFO’s in the images taken in 1972, and the Apollo missions traveled to the moon by a craft with “alien technology at its finest”.

Scott Waring identified numerous other anomalies objects in the Apollo images that according to him, are the ultimate proof of Alien activity not only on the moon, but on Earth as well.

He added: “The UFO looks metallic and even seems to have a window facing the Apollo team.

“Absolutely amazing find and I just don’t see why NASA doesn’t just cave in from the massive amount of evidence the public is posting.”

Not only are several Unidentified Flying Objects visible in the newest images released by NASA, but according to UFO hunters, several anomalous structures are visible on the moon. These structures prove that NASA went to the moon in search of Alien technology and Earth’s satellite isn’t a desolate place like we believed in the past.

The mysterious objects seen in the images below are not part of NASA’s spacecraft and the only logical explanation for them is that they are in fact Alien technology say ufologist. What else could they be?

AT LEAST 4 KNOWN ALIEN SPECIES HAVE BEEN VISITING EARTH FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS

I am well aware that just because somebody (no matter what their ‘position’) says something to be true, does not mean it’s true. Exceptions, however can be made if there is evidence that goes beyond their words and correlates with what they say. At the end of the day, you have to listen to what your heart tells you.

Paul Hellyer was the Canadian Minister of National Defense in the 1960’s during the cold war. He was responsible for combining the Canadian Air Force, Navy and Army into what is known today as the Canadian Forces. He was the highest ranking person (on paper) inside of the Department of Defence for Canada. The Honorable Paul Hellyer is the highest ranking person among all g8 countries to openly speak about UFOs and extraterrestrials.

He has been speaking about UFOs and extraterrestrials for quite some time now, and he recently made an appearance on RT news stating that there are at least 4 known alien species that have been visiting Earth for thousands of years.

Upon retirement, Hellyer began to blow the whistle on UFOs and extraterrestrials. His testimony is backed up by hundreds of other high ranking military and political personnel all over the world, including official documents released by dozens of governments worldwide that have officially acknowledged the presence of UFOs.

I think it’s also important to point out that the Canadian government recently acknowledged the fact that various federal agencies, including Transport Canada, the RCMP and the Department of National Defence used to track and investigate UFO sightings. (1) They claim to have stopped those programs, but that contradicts the defence minister’s (Hellyer) claims. There is good reason to believe, and a lot of evidence to suggest that some of these UFOs are indeed extraterrestrial space craft (not all military), and the activities of the agencies responsible for these programs goes far beyond just tracking of UFOs, but into contact with various extraterrestrial races, other classified technological developments and more.

The supreme allied commander was very concerned and was about ready to press the panic button when they turned around and went back over the North Pole. There’s been a lot more activity in the past two decades, especially since we invented the atomic bomb. They are very concerned about that and if we will use it again, because the whole cosmos is a unity and it affects not just us but other people in the cosmos. Is Stephen Hawking Right About Hostile Aliens?

E.T. was the perfect extraterrestrial: Cute, smart and — best of all — a perfect pacifist.

Unfortunately, scientists aren't so sure that an actual intelligent alien would be so benign. In a recent interview with El País, famed physicist Stephen Hawking posited that an alien visitation would put Earthlings in the same position as Native Americans when Columbus landed on their shores.

"Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach," Hawking speculated. [7 Huge Misconceptions About Aliens]

The likelihood that intelligent life is out there is up for debate; less discussed are the conditions necessary to evolve a life-form that's both smart and nice. But the lessons from Earth suggest that intelligence and aggression might evolve hand-in-hand.

No one really knows how humans got to be so clever. What's clear is that hominin brains began expanding wildly about 2 million years ago. (Hominins include those species after the human lineage — the genus Homo — split from the chimpanzee lineage.) By around 100,000 years ago, humans made the never-before-seen leap to inventing language. And by at least 40,000 years ago, our ancestors were making art.

"We have brains that are three times bigger than those of our closest relatives," said Mark Flinn, an anthropologist at the University of Missouri who has researched the emergence of human intelligence. Humans have unprecedented abilities to think about each other's thoughts and motivations, he said, to play out social scenarios in their brains and to think about the past and future.

"The general presumption is that this is just sort of a natural outcome of the evolutionary process, but that's really giving short shrift to the very special circumstances of human evolution," Flinn said.

Huge brains are expensive. They take an enormous number of calories to grow and function (up to 50 percent of intake in infancy and childhood, Flinn said) and make humans basically helpless for years after birth.

"Our babies are born as larvae, basically," said David Carrier, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Utah.

Many anthropologists and evolutionary biologists have tried to pinpoint the special circumstances that make these huge brains worth the expense. Charles Darwin suggested that perhaps males developed cleverness to attract females, much as a male peacock developed showy tail feathers to prove to potential mates that he could strut his stuff. But if brains were just for sexual display, scientists would expect to see big differences between male and female intelligence — females, not having to attract mates, shouldn't waste so much effort on their brains, much as peahens don't waste effort on growing shiny feathers (theirs are dull and brown). And female humans are just as smart as males.

Would smart aliens have energy-intensive brains? Hard to say — perhaps E.T. could evolve a more efficient, yet just as clever, organ. But if aliens were sending signals into space or building rockets, they'd have to have achieved an intelligence that far exceeds what is needed to survive. [13 Ways to Hunt for Intelligent Aliens]

Humans have done the same, and researchers can't quite figure out why. The brain could have evolved to allow humans to use tools, but chimpanzees use tools without developing complex languages, art and culture. One provocative theory holds that pathogens play a role: The brain is vulnerable to infection, wrote Hungarian researcher Lajos Rózsa in a 2008 article in the journal Medical Hypotheses. Showing off one's cleverness may be a way of showing off how resistant one is to infection. After all, if you're smart enough to invent language and art, you must be pretty good at battling brain parasites.

So perhaps intelligent aliens might be subject to alien parasites. Flinn and his colleagues favor another theory, though. They argue that humanity underwent a runaway cycle of brain evolution because of hominins' social nature.

The ecological dominance-social competition hypothesis works like this: Human ancestors reached a point in which their interactions with one another were the most important factor in whether they'd survive and pass on their genes. Finding food and shelter was still important, Flinn said, but it wasn't the main factor determining evolutionary success. The difference between clever humans and, say, caribou, is that intraspecies relationships drove evolution the fastest in humans, Flinn said. A herd of caribou has social interactions, to be sure: Males have to fight for mates, for example. But a more pressing concern would be avoiding predators and finding food. For hominins, these external issues became relatively less important, the theory goes, while their ability to form coalitions, to have empathy and to behave in such a way as to win friendships from others became key to their survival. In this heavily social context, it became very important to be smarter than the competition. Each generation got a little smarter and a little better at building complex social relationships, which created a feedback loop in which even smarter brains were beneficial.

"The thing about social competition is it's a dynamic challenge and it's also creative," Flinn said. "You need to have the better mousetrap every time. The competition adjusts to the current winning model, so you need to be one better than the current winning strategy."

The model seems to work with other clever animals, too, he added. Dolphins, orcas and chimps all form social coalitions with each other and depend on their social groups to survive. It's possible that this social factor would hold for species on other planets, too.

A key part of this theory is competition. Chimps form coalitions that battle against other chimps. And humans are far from peaceful. So if an alien species were to evolve intelligence, would aggression be an inevitable part of the package?

Perhaps. The evolution of aggression is a question unto itself. Fights to the death occur only in species where the options are mate or die, Carrier said. [Fight, Fight, Fight: The History of Human Aggression]

"If you can walk away from a fight and reproduce another day, you do that," he said. "But if circumstances are such that your ability to reproduce is threatened by a competitor, in that situation it makes sense to fight."

Environmental factors may determine whether a mate-or-die system emerges. For example, chimpanzees are a particularly homicidal (chimpacidal?) species, Carrier said. Work by primatologist Richard Wrangham at Harvard University and colleagues finds that chimp "wars" arise from a chimpanzee's territorialism. Small groups of foraging chimps may come into contact with other chimpanzees; killing these competitors (particularly when the foragers have numbers on their side) can be beneficial by opening up access to more resources.

Deadly male-male competition is less of a way of life for bonobos, humankind's other closest primate ancestor. Male bonobos stick by their mothers and the species is less territorial than chimpanzees. Bonobo foraging groups are also larger, perhaps because their food sources are more abundant, studies have found. Would aliens act more like bonobos or chimps? Hard to say. Researchers are even split on whether humans are more inherently aggressive or inherently peaceful.

A controversial theory holds that aggression was a driving force in human evolution. The "Killer Ape" hypothesis argues that the human ancestors who thrived were those better adapted for fighting. For example, Carrier said, modern humans can form fists, which our closest primate relatives cannot. This particular hand configuration may have evolved primarily for better manual dexterity — but it also could have come in handy as a club. Likewise, when human ancestors started walking on two legs, their face bones also evolved to be stronger and less delicate. This could be due to diet, Carrier said, but male face bones are more robust than female face bones, a sign that male-male competition could be at play. In other words, thick facial bones could be a defense against the fist, a weapon that would have become available once human ancestors became bipedal.

If intelligence evolves in the context of social competition, and aggression is the natural outcome of competition, it's hard to imagine that clever aliens could also be kind. Is this the end for hopes of sweet little E.T.?

Maybe not. The social competition model doesn't work without cooperation, after all. Humans fight, wage war and sometimes murder each other. But humans also form coalitions, care for each other and even build coalitions of coalitions, such as nation-states.

"There are two sides to our nature," Carrier said. "It's not that one is any more real than the other. It's just who we are."

Humans are unique among Earth life in forming long-lasting alliances between groups, not just individuals, Flinn said. Chimpanzees can't pull that off, he said, so it's not clear that aliens could, either.

"On Planet X, it may not be inevitable that social competition results in a morality and a creativity of the sort that allows these intelligent life-forms to negotiate with us for a mutually beneficial outcome," Flinn said.

On the other hand, chimpanzees don't explore space. Perhaps a civilization that can band together to reach for the stars has to be cooperative by definition. If that's the case, humanity might be a greater threat to aliens than aliens are to humanity. Luckily, evolution has given humans the tools for peace ( via livescience.com ).

"We can, in effect, rise above the design, potentially," Flinn said. "If we understand what our are designed to do, we are going to be way more capable of rising above those tendencies that we have."

Russia declassified secret images from Venus that show extraterrestrial life

The Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, published a series of photographs, taken by the Venera probe which allegedly show evidence of living organisms on Venus, one of the most inhospitable places for humans in the solar system. Venus, the second planet from the sun is the most similar planet in our solar system in terms of size and structure to Earth. In terms of the surface it is anything but Earth-like.

It is the hottest planet in the solar system, mainly due to its atmosphere which is 97 percent carbon dioxide, a heat trapping greenhouse gas.

The constant temperature on Venus is 480 degrees Celsius, a temperature which is hot enough to melt lead and it even hotter than the nearest planet to the Sun, Mercury.

According to an explanation by Leonid Ksanfomaliti, doctor of physical and mathematical science, at the Institute of Space Research, the images taken 30 years ago reveal the movement of extremely strange objects on the surface of Venus.

NASA quickly went on to debunk the discovery. As explained, the ‘disc’ that is seen moving on the surface is a lens cap, and the ‘scorpion-like-creature’ proposed by Ksanfomaliti is actually ‘noise’ in a second-hand picture which isn’t present in the original image.

Ksanfomaliti believes that in the images, a scorpion-shaped creature, a disk and a ‘black flap’ are visible moving in front of the onboard camera of the Venera 13.

According to reports from a Russian news agency Ksanfomaliti explained in an article of the Russian journal Solar System Research magazine: 'They all 'emerge, fluctuate and disappear,

'What if we forget about the current theories about the non-existence of life on Venus, let's boldly suggest that the objects' morphological features would allow us to say that they are living,' he added.

But American counterparts seem to firmly disagree with Ksanfomaliti. Ted Stryk who is a photo analyst at NASA says it is more likely that the disc Ksanfomaliti is talking about could have come from the spacecraft.

'Venera-13 had two cameras, one in front and one in back. The one image shows the front camera lens cap and the other shows the rear camera lens cap, not one lens cap that moved,' he says, in comments on Life's Little Mysteries.

NASA says there is no way that anything can survive on Venus today. However, scientists have not ruled out that once, in the distant past, Venus might have supported life, in a time when the planet might have had giant oceans and possibly life, before the ‘greenhouse effect’ created the temperatures that rule over the planet today.

'Current theories suggest that Venus and the Earth may have started out alike. There might have been a lot of water on Venus and there might have been a lot of carbon dioxide on Earth,' Professor Andrew Ingersoll of Caltech said in a paper published in Astrobiology in 2004.

The problem with science and scholars in search for extraterrestrial life is that mankind believes that for life to exist elsewhere in the solar system or universe, a planet should have a similar climate and conditions to those of Earth.

What if elsewhere, on Venus perhaps, there are living beings which need scorching temperatures in order to survive, beings that can breathe carbon dioxide and cannot survive with water or oxygen. In order to search more adequately for extraterrestrial life, we need to change the conditions and patterns for extraterrestrial life.

Boyhood Encounter With UFO Inspired Art That Soared Around The World

Ionel Talpazan thought he saw a UFO when he was a boy, and never stopped seeing them. Of course, he created them.

Ionel Talpazan was 60 years old when he died this week, of diabetes and stroke. He was a boy in a small village in Romania, given up by his parents and raised by a succession of foster parents. He told interviewers he escaped into the woods one night because he thought he would be beaten.

He saw a blue, beating light in the sky above, and was sure it was a spacecraft.

Ionel began to draw spacecraft; I'm not sure you can call them UFOs when an artist gives them such a vivid, colorful identify.

It is hard not to think that a lost, frightened little boy in the woods would dream and draw pictures of amazing machines to swoop down from the heavens and take him away.

But Ionel Talpazan had to make his own escape. As a young adult, he swam across the Danube River and into Yugoslavia, where he lived in a refugee camp before he could get to New York in the 1980s.

He had rough times in his new world, too. But Ionel continued to draw pictures of spacecraft he imagined, often thrown open to reveal innards as elaborate as schematics; but rarely people. He slept in a cardboard box near Columbus Circle and sold drawings, paintings, and small flying saucers that he made out of plaster and scavenged parts.

I don't know where life would have led Ionel Talpazan if he'd slept in a cardboard box on a corner of, say, Akron or Peoria. But in New York, a famous art figure named Henry Tobler saw an artist in his drawings, and wrote about him in scholarly journals. His pictures were included in Manhattan art galleries, and from the 1990s on, Ionel made his way in the world by his art.

By the time he died, his works had hung at the American Visionary Art Museum, and museums in San Franciso, London, Berlin, Madrid, and France. Talpazans were sold in fancy galleries from Soho to Chelsea. The man who had slept in a box moved to a New York apartment.

"My art shows spiritual technology, something beautiful and beyond human imagination, that comes from another galaxy," he once told the Western Folklore journal. "So, in relative way, this is like the God."

Ionel Talpazan imagined incredible things, and made them alive in the eyes of others. In a way, he did escape on his UFO.

My perspective on the UFO phenomenon is based on the propositions made by both Dr. Jacques Vallee and the late Tomas Scolarici (a.k.a., James Black):

I am in total agreement with both Dr. Jacques Vallee and the late Tomas Solarici, a.k.a., James Black.
Yes, they summarize my personal position on the entire UFO phenomenon.
This is the reason why, in my opinion, there will be no such thing as DISCLOSURE by the government.
Sure, the governments of the world could release ALL files on UFO sightings anytime, if they wish to.
However, just releasing such files will do absolutely nothing, since the public will clamor for the explanations as to what the UFO phenomenon is.
The government is only responsible for explaining things that deal with physical, tangible, solid, empirical evidence as we know them.
Anything else, the governmet is not in the business of dealing with.
If there will be any DISCLOSURE, it will come directly from the “Entities” themselves or from a paradigm-shifted majority of mankind (which has not happened yet).

This could be controversial, but is the UFO phenomenon equivalent to demonic activity?

UFOs Declassified looks at hard evidence behind infamous sightings

There is, to be blunt, a lot of nonsense about UFOs out there.

Airy-fairy, touchy-feely, “Welcome, alien brothers and sisters” New Age ho-hum. Unsubstantiated, conspiratorial conjecture. And pure, unadulterated fiction.

At the same time, however, no one has ever been able to establish who or what is behind the many documented UFOs that remain truly “unidentified.” There are a lot of those. At least five percent of UFO sightings have eluded explanation in every major study into the matter since the late 1940s. Even the U.S. Air Force’s contentious Project Blue Book, long considered a dismissive whitewash of the true situation by UFO scholars, shut down in 1969 acknowledging that 741 of the 12,618 cases it had investigated over the previous two decades stood as genuine “unknowns.”

The CIA made a peculiar announcement last week via Twitter, too, suggesting on Dec. 29 that its U2 spy plane program was responsible for “more than half” the UFO sightings in the 1950s, particularly those by commercial pilots who didn’t expect to see any kind of aircraft above them at 60,000 feet.

“The reports of unusual activity in the skies in the ’50s? It was us,” claimed @CIA, yet the very declassified report it linked to conceded that the CIA could not explain what caused the other half.

Lots of the most puzzling UFO incidents on record can be found in the annals of international military history, despite long-maintained professions of disinterest on the part of the international military establishment.

These marked perfect points of entry into the subject for Toronto documentarian Wayne Abbott, director and co-producer of the new series UFOs Declassified, which is set to make its domestic TV debut — ahead of airings in the U.S. and the U.K. — on History Canada at 8 p.m. on Friday.

Abbott got his start in sports television, working on CBC’s venerable Hockey Night in Canada and covering multiple Olympic Games for CTV and NBC during the 1980s and early 1990s, but has since made his name as a purveyor of such well-regarded, investigative, military-historical documentaries as Unlucky Lady (about the sinking of the HMCS Athabascan off the coast of France in 1944) and Dieppe Uncoveredthrough his Northern Sky Entertainment production house.

Many of those works were borne of meticulous digging into once-classified Second World War documents, which led Abbott to wonder if he might construct a similar TV project based around the myriad UFO-related documents liberated from official military secrecy since the end of the Cold War.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the UFO subject and the idea of UFOs. Whether the UFOs are extraterrestrial or something beyond our comprehension that’s happening, I’ve always found it one of the greatest mysteries and jumped at the chance to actually produce television shows based on the subject,” says Abbott.

His tactic with UFOs Declassified was simple: take that one simple, but crucial step beyond so many other UFO programs that have come before and provide hard evidence to shore up the first-person testimony of witnesses. For him, the new show is simply an extension of his previous investigations into shrouded military history.

“Could we look at the primary sources, the documents and information that were captured at the time?” says Abbott. “Some of it is extraordinary — not just documents that were written within a day or two, but air-traffic controller recordings and police-dispatch tapes that were recorded at the time. And this is what we wanted to base it on.”

The initial, six-episode run of UFOs Declassified delves into several storied cases of “unidentified aerial phenomena.”

The infamous “Roswell Incident” of 1947 gets an airing, of course. Along with that obvious target, however, the series gives sober, even-handed consideration to some other unusual aerial happenings not quite so well known outside UFO-enthusiast circles.

There’s the 1942 “Battle of Los Angeles,” where U.S. troops fired more than 1,400 rounds to no avail at a gigantic flying object seen by hundreds of witnesses (and photographed) before it vanished without a trace. The waves of triangular-UFO sightings over Belgium, England and the U.S. during the late 1980s and early ’90s that eventually, after extensive investigation, prompted the Belgian Air Force to declare the phenomenon completely beyond explanation are given a thorough examination in “Black Triangles.”

Meriting an episode of their own, too, are the compelling, multi-day visitations by unknown objects — not to mention at least one landing that left a triangular indentation and radiation traces on the forest floor — in Rendlesham Forest near the joint U.S./NATO bases of RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk, England, during the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays in 1980.

The latter is of particular interest to Nick Pope. A onetime appointee to the U.K. Ministry of Defence’s cryptically titled Air Staff 2A division who converted from skeptic to believer when handed responsibility for overseeing British military’s UFO files, he released his own document of the Bentwaters incident entitled Encounter in Rendlesham Forest last year and served as a consultant and onscreen expert for UFOs Declassified.

“I hope I have brought to it a degree of gravitas and authority and, hopefully, historical accuracy,” he says. “I think this subject — if I’m being generous — sometimes I’d say it’s one percent signal, 99 percent noise. And hopefully, one of the things that I’ve been able to do is help Wayne and (co-producer) John Moores find the good stuff. We don’t want just stories. We want stories where there’s a verifiable audit trail of government documents that can back up the story — where, for example, we know that there is radar evidence or photographic evidence.”

Stories are fine, says Pope, “as long as they’re caveated as such.” But for some of the stories UFOs Declassified focuses on he was actually able to source the original documents from the U.K. National Archives. This sort of due diligence is where UFOs Declassified ranks a cut above a lot of its alien-obsessed TV brethren.

The “hard” cases tackled by UFOs Declassified are those that torment pilots and leave physical evidence such as impressions in the ground, distressed or singed vegetation and radioactive traces — not to mention credible witnesses frequently altered by their experience — in their wake before returning to . . . well, who knows?

Because the very mention of the subject has become an instant magnet for ridicule for anyone who voices a question about the subject, we’re really no closer to finding out than we were when they first buzzed across the popular consciousness at the dawn of the Cold War.

“There were people we wanted to come on board who didn’t want to do a UFO show because there’s a stigma attached to it,” acknowledges Abbott, who blames decades of “bad television shows and movies” and irresponsible reporting for turning UFOs into a no-go zone.

“I think our show does show a lot of compelling evidence. There’s nothing definitive to show what has happened over the last, say, 70 years — which is sort of the area that we’re looking at — to say that they are extraterrestrial, but at the same time there’s nothing definitive to say that they’re not.”

Pope is just pleased to be involved with a program that operates “more from a historian’s perspective as opposed to a wide-eyed believer’s perspective” and stays “focused on the things that really do go above stories and get into the area of verifiability.”

“This subject, I suppose, is like a religion, in a way. Everyone’s got an opinion on it, and most of those opinions are pretty polarized,” he says, offering a two-pronged opinion of his own on why so many people refuse to look deeper into an obvious “known unknown” that has resisted mainstream scientific inquiry for decades.

“I think there are two things. The first is the fact that I already mentioned, that there is so much noise and so little signal that there is a tendency for people to throw out the baby with the bathwater.”

The second thing keeping people from acknowledging the reality of UFOs — and again, you don’t have to believe in extraterrestrials to accept the reality of UFOs — is “a little more psychological.”

“This is so deeply challenging to some people’s worldview and their paradigm that it maybe takes them to a place where they would not be very comfortable,” says Pope. “The religion analogy I used deliberately. I think if something comes along that so fundamentally challenges your understanding of the universe and your place in it that it is, for some people, deeply uncomfortable, they are resistant from going down a path that might take them to that place. “

If Aliens Asked You to Board Their Craft,..What Would You Do?

This is a question I ponder many times when thinking about UFO’s and a possible Extraterrestrial Presence on Earth.

What would I do if a Extraterrestrial craft landed in my backyard and the door opened or some kind of entry appeared where it seemed like I was being invited in to the craft?

Here is my thoughts on how my experience may play out! Please tell me what yours may be!

Maybe “they” would even be beckoning me telepathically or even standing by the entrance gesturing for me to come forward into the craft.

So hopefully after my initial shock and disbelief I would be still be thinking rationally and come up with a answer and either move forward and enter or maybe try to ask a few important questions like, “So your not going to poke and probe?”,..and “We are coming back right?”

As I run this scenario thru the my thought process, I realize I also should be documenting my experience with photo’s and video! “Where’s my Camera?”, “I’m Exited, Overwhelmed and Delirious in What I should Do!”

Then reality sets in and questions rise up as to why I would be experiencing this?

Why Me?

If a highly advanced race of Aliens made the journey to earth ,…why my backyard?

Surely Stephen Hawking, Seth Shostak (head of SETI), or even Giorgio A. Tsoukalos the “Alien Guy” would be a better choice?

This cant be Good!

I revert back to instinct and a voice in my head screams load and clear!

“NOT IN MY BACKYARD!”

Humans are the Species on Earth that claims ownership to the Planet and the dirt beneath its feet. Although we share the Planet with millions of other species we have claimed that we are the dominate species and ruler of the Planet,..and its Galaxy. With our technological advances we have claimed the Moon, Mars and more as ours. If we land there,we own it type attitude. Consuming property as our history as shown over and over again with each human empire pushing for more land and more control.

We defend what we own.

As humans we own our backyard and eliminate any intruders we find “unworthy”. We manicure our lawns and eliminate pests, rodents and plants we consider undesirable. We get angry if our space is trespassed by other people, I myself have been frustrated with teenagers who use my backyard as a short cut between streets. Also in our community complaints arise about crop duster noise and low flying planes over “MY BACKYARD”.

Even if we traverse past our own claimed domains we make temporary ownership. We camp in a forests and bring weapons to protect agonist predators!… in their own backyard! We dam rivers, manipulate weather, and continue to defy mother nature and build wherever we want to.

We may decide that parts of the Amazon are needed for our expansion?,..Oh we have done that!,.. or the Moon is ripe for strip mining! The Planet Mars for our new home away from home!

Haman quest is to always to reach past that final frontier and stake the flag indicating ownership.

“Planting the flag” usually means making a claim to something, usually … Throughout history men have “planted the flag” claiming ownership.

So what would I do if a Alien Craft landed in my backyard?

Well, I didn’t go in to the backyard at night without some protection!

As the craft approached and attempted landing in my garden I unleashed a a warning shot over its spinning translucent top.

With visible extraterrestrials in the cockpit and as they ignored my warnings and landed on my sweet corn I took action.

I unleashed my Pit bulls on the open door in the craft! They took off as I unloaded the remaining bullets in the clip and although as they took off with my earth enslaved animals and seemed to explode in space due to the carnage I expect on board, I cant help wonder if they came in Peace?

This is just my thoughts and yours could be vastly different!

I hope they are and would love to hear them! (Cause I’m not a good ambassador candidate, obviously)
