President Obama on UFOs: These things aren’t as top secret as you’d think
President Obama on UFOs: These things aren’t as top secret as you’d think
President Obama says that these things aren’t as top secret as you’d think ( speaking about UFOs)
Like many presidents before him, President Obama has been asked a lot about Alien Life and UFO’s. He might not be as interested as former president Ronald Reagan, but he certainly found time to speak about the subject on several occasions.
In a recent interview published by GQ Obama addressed the UFO and Alien issue once again.
“I gotta tell you, it’s a little disappointing. People always ask me about Roswell and the aliens and UFOs, and it turns out the stuff going on that’s top secret isn’t nearly as exciting as you expect. In this day and age, it’s not as top secret as you’d think.”
Not long ago in March 2015, in a pretty interesting interview with Jimmy Kimmel, President Obama was asked, again, about UFO’s, Alien life elsewhere in the cosmos and Area 51.
While Obama remained in his charming mood, he made it clear that he was not able to disclose any information about Aliens because these beings “exercise strict control over us.”
While many believe Obama was only being sarcastic during the interview, there are other who believe the president was being honest.
Its hard to tell if Obama was joking or not, but the fact that he has addressed the issue several times certainly tells us something about Obama and his opinion and UFO’s And Alien life. While he could have denied the whole idea proposed by numerous Ufologists, President Obama has chosen to leave room for thought.
Former FBI special Agent Ben Hansen analyzed President Obama’s interview with Kimmel and concluded that the President was speaking the truth when he answered “I can’t reveal anything,” which should not come as a surprise according to the former FBI agent. It’s clear that the President will not discuss top secret issues on TV nor can he divulge information of that kind to the public.
So, just as many other government officials and scientists that had access to this kind of information, the president of the United States has given us a lot to think about regarding alien life and the UFO Phenomenon.
Remember, in the past, individuals such as Dr. Farouk El Baz, on of NASA’s main scientists said in a statement: “Not every discovery has been announced.”
Not long ago, renowned scientist Professor Stephen Hawking said: “To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational”

UFOS: THE STIFF REALITY OF A FLEXIBLE PHENOMENON
UFOS: THE STIFF REALITY OF A FLEXIBLE PHENOMENON
by: Ryan Sprague
When facing the UFO phenomenon head on, the most problematic question one may ask is actually the most simple: Are UFOs real?
The answer is yes. The answer is always yes. In fact, it’s literally right there in the letters; UFO. It is, in essence, an object in flight that is unidentified. Perhaps the most common place definition comes from the late astronomer, J. Allen Hynek. In his book, The UFO Experience: A Scientific Inquiry, Hynek dryly, yet appropriately describes a UFO as being:
“… the reported perception of an object or light seen in the sky or upon the land. The appearance, trajectory, and general dynamic and luminescent behavior of which do not suggest a logical, conventional explanation and which is not only mystifying to the original percipients but remains unidentified after close scrutiny of all available evidence by persons who are technically capable of making a common sense identification, if one is possible.”
( J. Allen Hynek)
It doesn’t get much more self-explanatory than that. But where did this painfully obvious term stem from? And why, throughout the past sixty years or so, has it become not so obvious? The acronym was coined by Captain Edward Ruppelt, who in 1953, led the official investigation into aerial phenomena through the channels of the U.S. Air Force. To further the public from any notion that these objects were extraterrestrial, Ruppelt , serving as a catch-all for the mysterious objects appearing, flying, and sometimes floating through the skies. The acronym stuck, remaining the go-to letters for almost every media outlet known to man.
(Edward J. Ruppelt)
Thousands and thousands of declassified documents by intelligence agencies around the world can be found in reference to UFOs. These documents boast reports from the simply mundane misidentifications and natural phenomena, to the most intriguing and perplexing, begging more questions on just exactly what these UFOs are and are not. Here, in the United States, we left it up to the military to investigate what could potentially be a threat to our own safety on the hard ground below and the cushioned security of our skies above. Let’s take a look at how it all began.
The Official Study of the Phenomenon Begins… and Ends
The U.S. Air Force first attempted to decipher the enigmatic code behind these aerial phenomena back in 1947 with Project Sign. As the project’s personnel compiled case after case of sightings, they argued that what they seemed to be dealing with was in fact something of extraterrestrial intelligence. However, this notion was quickly swept under the rug, and replaced in 1949 by Project Grudge. Headed by aeronautical engineer, Edward J Ruppelt, Project Grudge was in essence, a continuation of looking into these phenomena with a much more objective eye, dismantling the possibility that UFO activity was caused by anything but natural and/or manmade anomalies and intervention.
The study of UFOs continued in its final iteration, Project Blue Book, in 1952. This was the longest, and most well publicized Air Force study, compiling over 12,000 reports of sightings in the western world alone. Project Blue Book continued until 1968, when the Air Force-funded Condon Committee was created to draft a final report on their findings. Physicist, Edward U. Condon, and an investigative group out of the University of Colorado, used files from Project Blue Book and several independent UFO research organizations to determine that, first and foremost, UFOs caused no threat to national security. They also concluded that there was absolutely no scientific evidence proving that UFOs were extraterrestrial in origin. And with that, the official American study of the phenomenon came to a whimpering end. But that didn’t stop certain members of these projects from looking further into the phenomenon and case reports.
Civilian Research Organizations
Many individuals within the government sphere were involved in the study of UFOs. Most notably of these individuals was none other than the aforementioned J. Allen Hynek. Hynek, having been a lead investigator all throughout Project Grudge and Project Blue Book, was first hired to explain away each and every UFO report as natural or manmade phenomena. But after seeing Blue Book out until the very end, he simply couldn’t accept that that was a conventional explanation for every sighting or incident. His skeptical view slowly tilted to a more open-minded approach, favoring the idea that some of the UFOs being seen could in fact be of an extraterrestrial or non-human intelligence. And in 1973, he would found the Chicago-based Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS). This organization consisted of many credible scientists and researchers who evaluated UFO reports in a careful and thorough way. To this day, a large archive of the work done by Hynek and CUFOS can be found through various online outlets and through the publication of Hynek’s definitive book, The UFO Experience: A Scientific Inquiry.
While many other organizations came and went, perhaps the most visible and well known would have to be the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). Originally founded by Walt Andrus, a technology manager and educator, and John Schuessler, a retired aerospace engineer, the two would invite many of their colleagues to join the organization, such as notable nuclear physicist, Stanton Friedman and optical physicist, Dr. Bruce Maccabee. Using their technical and analytical skills in many different arenas throughout the years, MUFON now boasts chapters in every single state, investigating cases of aerial phenomena, close encounters, and in its most modern iteration, even supposed alien abduction cases. Investigators bring their reports and data to the state directors who then follow up on many of the cases with an objective and critical approach. MUFON remains active today, hosting several large conferences throughout the year and an annual journal of case reports.
Unlike the investigative organizations above, there is another ambitious undertaking that consists of compilation of UFO reports by the public. The National UFO Reporting Center, (NUFORC) founded in 1974 by Robert J. Gribble, the center has catalogued a staggering 90,000 reports in its history. Aside from its cataloguing endeavors, the center also provides regional statistics to assist specific geographical needs of those who seek information about local sightings and reports. The center remains active as this book is being published, having been taken over in 1994 by Peter Davenport, a former MUFON member, and professor of genetics and biochemistry. Davenport sing-handily runs the center from his home, and updates case reports on a weekly basis.
(Peter Davenport)
While many other civilian organizations have come and gone, the challenge for each seemed to be that of funding. Each organization held highly esteemed scientists and every facet, yet very little money had ever been set into place to provide any substantial sustainability. This is something the scientific community, UFOs aside, have always wrestled with. How does one fund their research when theory is their only means in which to progress? Perhaps this may be why scientific study into the UFO phenomenon lay deep on the fringe, splintering off into the above organizations in all their ambitious efforts. Perhaps by looking closer at the relationship between mainstream science and the UFO phenomenon, we can begin to narrow in on the phenomenon’s deeply embedded, and often ridiculed reputation.
Mainstream Science and UFOs
After the sobering determination made by the Condon Committee’s report, all hope of a possible intelligent extraterrestrial presence seemed to dissipate. But a small shred of debate by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) cracked open the possibility that the scientific community wasn’t completely against the notion of a possible alien phenomenon. In response to the Condon Report, the AIAA noted that at least thirty percent of cases studied remained unexplained by conventional and natural science, and that scientific benefit could still be gained by further study of the phenomenon.
Michael Shermer, publisher of Skeptic Magazine and contributor to Scientific American, once stated that:
“In all fields of science there is a residue of anomalies unexplained by the dominant theory. That does not mean the prevailing theory is wrong or that alternative theories are right. It just means that more work needs to be done to bring those anomalies into the accepted paradigm. In the meantime, it is okay to live with the uncertainty that not everything has an explanation.”
While Shermer accepts living in this uncertainty, many scientists keep the current paradigm in a stagnant purgatory, not only by ignoring the UFO phenomenon entirely, but refusing to even acknowledge the potential of such technologies and how they could ultimately benefit both science and on a greater scale, humanity. But the dark cloud looking above has always been that of pure ridicule, a festering specter whispering in the collective scientific ear that UFOs are simply bunk, and not worth the time, talents, or intelligence of some of the greatest thinkers in history. In a field where thought reigns supreme, and reputations hang on the threads of governmental influence, far-out theories on exotic aircraft of potentially non-human intelligence could completely overshadow even the most influential of scientists and the contributions they have made to their respective fields. But there are those who are willing to put their thoughts in the face of ridicule and speak publicly about such fringe topics, and are willing to call others out for their woeful ignorance to the topic in general.
Of those who reject it right out, “They’re wrong, naive, stubborn, narrow-minded, afraid and fearful,” says Eric Davis, an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics award winning- propulsion physicist at the Institute of Advanced Studies. In an interview with Lee Spiegel of the Huffington Post, Davis would elaborate: “It’s a dirty word (UFOs) and a forbidden topic. Science is about open-minded inquiry. You shouldn’t be laughing off people. You should show more deference and respect to them. Scientists need to get back to using the scientific method to study things that are unknown and unusual, and the UFO subject is one of them.”
While such accusations can seem generalized, Davis also admits that there are many scientists who do study the phenomenon, if even from the peripheral. “There are those who are aware of evidence and observational data that is irrefutable. It is absolutely corroborated, using forensic techniques and methodology. But they won’t come out and publicize that because they fear it. Not the subject, but the backlash from their professional colleagues.”
Davis goes on to admit that this topic isn’t just meant to be studied by the scientific community. “It’s the domain of military intelligence,” he suggests. “The fact that [unknown] craft are flying around Earth is not a subject for science, it’s a subject for intelligence-gathering, collection and analysis. That’s because UFOs are not a natural phenomenon, and that’s what science studies.”
(Eric Davis)
Whatever these UFOs may or may not be, they seem to defy most conventional propulsion theories that we readily know of here on our planet. But therein lay the limitations scientific methodology. For instance, why do UFOs, making the most dramatic and unconventional maneuvers, need to be piloted by some sort of biological entity? Why is this the reason that some scientists dismiss the objects being piloted craft whose said pilots could not conceivably survive such speeds, velocity, or maneuvers? We send hundreds of unmanned spacecraft out into the heavens constantly for this very reason. What if the objects we witness, racing, floating, and suddenly appearing and disappearing in our skies are nothing more than highly advance drones from somewhere off-planet? Perhaps it could be best summarized by theoretical physicist, Michio Kaku. He once remarked:
“Some scientists have scoffed at UFOs because they don’t fit any of the gigantic propulsion designs being considered by engineers today, such as ramjet fusion engines, huge laser-powered sails and nuclear pulsed engines, which might be miles across. But UFOs can be as small as a jet airplane, and can refuel from a nearby moon base. So sightings may correspond to unmanned reconnaissance ships.”
(Michio Kaku)
So if we are dealing with potential craft (some being unmanned perhaps, some not) entering our atmosphere from space, who better to carry the proverbial weight of UFO observation and possible investigation than those who study celestial bodies and space itself? With the most powerful telescopes observing objects of great distance, and individuals with vast knowledge of what could potentially lay within and beyond earth’s atmosphere, it would be more than appropriate for astronomers to play a large role in the search for truth behind these elusive anomalies.
In 2010, a barrage of UFO sightings saturated the headlines of Chinese newspapers, reports coming in almost on a daily basis. As strange lights and solid objects plagued the skies of China, local airports were temporarily shut down until the objects could no longer be observed as a potential threat for landings and takeoff. Clearly, this was turning into more than just a simple misidentification by civilians.
Planetary astronomer, Wang Sichao, of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, investigated many of these sightings throughout the years, taking a keen interest in the phenomenon as it hit closer and closer to home at the Purple Mountain Observatory where he worked. In at interview with the Beijing Review, Sichao would comment on the UFO reports as “events of credible facts backed by observation. But these facts cannot yet be explained by existing scientific knowledge or natural phenomena.” And while Sichao took on the bulk of UFO sightings in China for self interest and curiosity, he would go on to explain why astronomers are not primarily in the business of searching for or investigating UFO reports: “The reason is that a UFO only appears randomly and often disappears rapidly in a few minutes,” he would continue. “By the time large professional telescopes are started up, it has already disappeared. So, we can only rely on information from occasional sightings or encounters by observers.”
(Purple Mountain Observatory)
In his book, The UFO Phenomenon: Should I Believe?, author and scientist, Dr. Robert Davis points out that:
“Evidence within Ufology is largely based on such anecdotal claims, it is very difficult to build testable hypotheses to either reject or confirm through a validation process, such as, testing predictions against observations to confirm a hypothesis…. ufology would greatly benefit from collaborative research efforts with the scientific community, but instead, have often alienated (no pun intended) them.”
It would seem that with the amount of dedicated scientists connected to the study of UFOs in its sordid independent organizational past, that rigorous scientific method and mainstream acceptance would gradually become inevitable. But with such a complex and frustrating phenomenon taunting us from the corner, it just doesn’t seem to be moving as swiftly as we may have hoped it would. To further the point that science and UFO studies are not exactly in synch, Richard Hall, assistant director of the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP) once stated: “Although the ranks of Ufology contain the seeds of science, it should not now pretend to be a science, but a popular movement advocating scientific investigation. It should (and could) clarify and present the factual evidence in a manner designed to encourage a true scientific investigation, which would make use of all the techniques and facilities available to science today.”
The Journey Begins
So while we seem to have varying opinions on a governmental, scientific, and civilian level, one factor remains constant: UFOs are on the mind of individuals in every walk of life, from the simple observer on the side of the road, to the most forward-thinking (and sometimes skeptical) scientists of yesterday and today. So again, we are faced with many dilemmas of how to move forward. These phenomena are far more complex than a singular non-human intelligence pulling the proverbial strings of mystery. A fellow colleague of mine, author and researcher, Micah Hanks, suggested the following in his book, The UFO Singularity:
“The mere proof of official interest in he UFO presence throughout the years cannot by itself make concrete the existence of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, nor can it prove that any single phenomenon can be attributed solely to the identity of the kinds of unidentifiable aircraft in our skies…probing even deeper into the mystery, there could yet be stranger solutions to the enigma that exists somewhere in our midst.”
(Micah Hanks)
Conclusions
While we continue to search for these strange answers in our midst, we also continue to question the approaches we take in that search. Whether it be from the anecdotal evidence of eyewitnesses or the analytical eye of scientists throughout the world, the phenomenon remains as elusive as ever. So in all its enigmatic glory, all we can truly do is continue to search somewhere in the skies for the answers we seek, and the questions we crave. Will we be satisfied with the answers science eventually gives us? Or will we deny it, leading us back down the path of the illogical and immeasurable? Only time will truly tell. And in that telling, we can be certain of one thing: the UFO phenomenon isn’t going to ever leave us. In fact, it seems that it has only begun its invasion on our curious, and ever-expanding minds.

Top 3 Secret Military bases in the world
Top 3 Secret Military bases in the world
No country is powerful unless it has a top secret military facility that nobody is allowed to trespass hundreds of yards of its vicinity. How else do you explain the development of hi-tech weapons and unusual sightings?
Here are 5 top secret locations you just can’t visit. At least not without getting shot at.
Area 51, Nevada, USA
This is where the alien technology is being reverse engineered for military purposes. The official name of the base is Groom Lake. The base is so secretive you are warned about being shot if you as much as come close. It has been associated with UFO sightings since the 60s.
Zhitkur underground base, Kapustin Yar, Russia
Also known as Russia’s Area 51, it’s said that this is where the Soviet Union launched the Sputnik satellite from. Like Area 51, Zhitkur too was linked to UFO sightings back in the days of the Soviet Union. It is said that Soviet Jets engaged in dogfights with UFOs. The facility is based 400 meters below the surface of the earth.
Porton Down, England
It’s said to be the home of England’s chemical and biological weapons, some of which were tested on human ‘guinea pigs’. They call Porton Down a military science park. Behind the ordinary name is the world’s oldest chemical weapons development establishment. It was set up in 1916 and has been surrounded in secrecy ever since. But is was only in the 1960s that the British government even admitted to its existence. During the Cold War, Porton Down was the site of biological and chemical weapons research. These weapons are said to have been tested on human subjects without their knowledge.

Asked whether he thought the lights could be UFOs, Mr Edwards said: "If you want to believe in all that then I'll let you decide but I haven't a foggiest what it is."
At 9.45pm that evening, another Dovorian caught three "UFOs" on camera which she filmed on her mobile from Connaught Road.

Miss Lerata, of East Cliff, said: "I was astonished by the lights I saw.
"It was not fireworks nor planes.
"I couldn't sleep last night. This has changed my mind completely about the universe. It's amazing.
"I can't explain it.

Mr Sinclair added: "I have no idea if it's a UFO. There is nothing logical I can put to it. But I didn't see any green men.
"It does make you wonder. You wonder what on earth it could have been.
"I've never seen anything like it."

A few Express readers suggested the bright glow on November 8 may have come from a flare, released by the Ministry of Defence during a training exercise.
But an MOD spokesman said: "There was no military exercises taking place in Lydden at the time."
A similar glowing orange orb was spotted "moving wildly" above River before heading off in the direction of France in August 2009.

Metallic spheres found in Siberia are of extraterrestrial origin?
Metallic spheres found in Siberia are of extraterrestrial origin?
Are the mysterious metallic spheres of Siberia really of Extraterrestrial origin as some believe?
It is very well known that since ancient times, Siberia has been a very mysterious place. Numerous incredible findings are connected to that part of Russia. One of those mysterious places in Siberia is the area of Yakutia, virtually unexplored and very inhospitable, full of swamps, it is a place that locals avoid at all costs since, according to them, anyone that enters the Valley of Death never returns.
There, in the enigmatic and mysterious area of Russia, people have found strange metallic objects whose purpose and origin are as controversial as inexplicable to science.
The area of land is known by locals as Uliuiu Cherkechek, the Valley of Death, in Siberia. There, you can find a “disturbing” number of metallic spheres believed to be of extraterrestrial origin. Mysteriously, according to those few who have ventured out and studied these strange “alien spheres”, these objects are strategically positioned to protect against asteroids and “hostile energies.” Local legends support this theory.
Beyond any speculation, the truth is that this mysterious area of land, has been protagonist of several catastrophic events such as the great Tunguska explosion in 1908, Chulum in 1984, and Vitim, in 2002.
People who live in the vicinity of this hazardous place believe there is no mystery to it: the Death Valley owes its name to countless deaths and illness that marked the fate of anyone who dared to roam the vicinity of any of these metal spheres which are, according to rumours of extraterrestrial origin.
Legends state that here, in this inhospitable landscape live to old demons of the “Taiga.”
The last scientific expedition, consisting of three geologists, an astrophysicist, a mechanical engineer and several assistants, investigated the site, they found huge metal formations, such as domes, half-buried in the swamps.
An area of land showing the remains of where these mysterious metal spheres once stood? – Image needs source.
In their short time investigating the metallic spheres, they managed to find five of these metallic spheres, but scientists could not continue their expedition and investigate further since serious illness afflicted several of the members of the expedition. It is believed that these metallic spheres give of some sort of radiation and because of it, anyone who ventures near them falls ill.
Lone hunters who have ventured into the area where the metallic spheres are found say that there are many metallic spheres found in the area, some of them are submerged under water while other spheres are half-buried in the ground. Locals refer to these structures as “olguis” and these are said to be forged out of an unknown metal, believed to be “copper-like” in nature. The metal of these spheres is said to be extremely resistant and hard, no one has been able to analyse them since many fear approaching these spheres. The few tests that were made were ignored by laboratories who have failed to identify their composition and origin.
Expedition into the Mysterious Death valley
Local hunters say that over time, these metallic spheres sink into the ground and disappear from sight. They leave behind strange stains where vegetation cannot thrive again. It is said that tribal elders have declared the area as cursed.
Strangely, we have failed to find any images of these mysterious metallic spheres which leaves us wondering where these actually exist, or are just legends as many skeptics suggest.
In a letter, Mikhail Koretsky from Vladivostok who visited the mysterious area wrote:
“I was there three times. The first time was in 1933, when I was ten – I travelled with my father when he went there to earn some money – then in 1937, without my father. And the last time was in 1947 as part of a group of youngsters.
“The ’Valley of Death’ extends along a right-hand tributary of the Viliuy River. In point of fact it is a whole chain of valleys along its flood lands. All three times I was there with a guide, a Yakut. We didn’t go there because life was good, but because there, in the back of beyond, you could pan for gold without the threat that at the end of the season you’d be robbed or get a bullet in the back of your head.
“As for mysterious objects, there are probably a lot of them there, as in three seasons I saw seven of those ’cauldrons’. They all struck me as totally perplexing: for one thing, there was their size – between six and nine meters in diameter.
“Secondly, they were made of some strange metal. Everyone has written that they were made of copper, but I’m sure it isn’t copper. The thing is that even a sharpened cold chisel will not mark the ’cauldrons’ (we tried more than once). The metal doesn’t break off and can’t be hammered. On copper, a hammer would definitely have left noticeable dents. But this ’copper’ is covered over with a layer of some unknown material resembling emery. Yet it’s not an oxidation layer and not scale – it can’t be chipped or scratched, either.
“We didn’t come across shafts going down into the ground with chambers. But I did note that the vegetation around the ’cauldrons’ is anomalous – totally different from what’s growing around. It’s more opulent: large-leaved burdock; very long withes; strange grass, one and a half or two times the height of a man. In one of the ’cauldrons’, the whole group of us (six people) spent the night. We didn’t sense anything bad, and we calmly left without any sort of unpleasant occurrences. Nobody fell seriously ill afterwards. Except that three months later, one of my friends lost all his hair. And on the left side of my head (the side I slept on), three small sore spots the size of match-heads appeared. I’ve tried to get rid of them all my life, but they’re still with me today.
“None of our efforts to break off even a small piece from the strange ’cauldrons’ was successful. The only thing I did manage to bring away was a stone. Not an ordinary one, though: half of a perfect sphere, six centimeters in diameter. It was black in colour and bore no visible signs of having been worked, yet was very smooth as if polished. I picked it up from the ground inside one of those cauldrons.
“I took my souvenir of Yakutia with me to the village of Samarka, Chuguyevka district, Primorsky region (the Soviet Far East), where my parents were living in 1933. I was laid up with nothing to do until my grandmother decided to build a house. We needed to put glass in the windows and there wasn’t a glass-cutter in the entire village. I tried scoring it with the edge of that half of a stone sphere, and it turned out to cut with amazing ease. After that, my find was often used like a diamond by all our relatives and friends. In 1937 I gave the stone to my grandfather, but that autumn he was arrested and taken to Magadan where he lived on without trial until 1968 and then died. Now no-one knows where my stone got to…”
In his letter, Koretsky stresses that in 1933 his Yakut guide told him that:
“…five or ten years before, he had discovered several spherical cauldrons (they were absolutely round) that protruded high (higher than a man) out of the ground. They looked brand new. Later the hunter had seen them again, now broken and scattered.”
Russia’s death valley remains a mystery for scientists, researchers and adventurers and while many suggest that these stories are exaggerated, some believe that there is truth in them. Extensive research has not been done at the area, and the little research that has been performed has remained classified, far away from the eyes of society.

The enigma of Atlantis: 6 most widespread theories
The enigma of Atlantis: 6 most widespread theories
The first writings about Atlantis come from the famous book “Dialogues” written by the Greek philosopher Plato in the fourth century BC. According to Plato, the stories of Atlantis were passed to him by his grandfather, who had heard the story about ancient Atlantis from an Athenian statesman called Solon who learned about the existence of Atlantis from an Egyptian priest who claimed that Atlantis existed nine thousand years ago before that.
“Through violent earthquakes and floods, in a single day and night of misfortune … [the whole race] … was swallowed up by the Earth and the island of Atlantis … disappeared into the depths of the sea.” – Plato.
Since then, numerous hypotheses have circulated among scholars, researchers and explorers about the existence and mysterious disappearance of the city-continent.
Or what if… Atlantis never sank… What if the might Atlantean empire lifted off to the Stars?
Here we have six of the most relevant theories about the existence and disappearance of Atlantis.
Atlantis / Antarctica
One of my favorite theories regarding Atlantis is certainly the one where Atlantis is actually Antarctica. The theory that Atlantis was located in what is now known as Antarctica, which at the time was a much warmer territory than today, is based on the book “Earth’s Shifting Crust” published in 1958 by Charles Hapgood.
According to Hapgood, 12,000 years ago continents of the earth shifted, leaving Atlantis much further south from where it was originally. The people of this ancient civilization would have perished due to low temperatures; the city would be buried under layers of ice. Evidence of that are the alleged pyramids that have been found on Antarctica.
The Minoan civilization
One of the most recent theories maintains that the Atlantis Plato spoke of, is actually the ancient Minoan civilization that inhabited the island of Crete between 3000 and 1600 BC
It is believed that this could have been the first European civilization, with splendid palaces and even a written language. Some historians believe that the gradual decline of this culture came after a volcano exploded and numerous tsunamis left several cities submerged by the sea.
Atlantis and the Atlantic Ocean
Some theorists believe that Atlantis was a continent in the Atlantic that sank into the ocean in the distant past.
In 1883 the work of Ignatius Donnelly “Atlantis the Antediluvian World” is published. The author finds the mythical island in the Atlantic, in the same place as Plato, explaining that the might city-continent disappeared beneath the ocean.
Atlantis and the Black Sea
This theory suggests that Atlantis never existed. This theory maintains that the legend of Atlantis is based on the terrible flooding that occurred in the sixth century BC during the sharp rise of the Black Sea over the Mediterranean.
Plato’s theory could have been based on this story, chronicling the demise of different civilizations to do rising water levels which eventually led him to come up with his own story about the mythical city-continent called Atlantis.
Atlantis and the Bermuda Triangle
What if Atlantis did exist, somewhere where Plato described it? What if it’s somewhere near or ‘inside’ the Bermuda Triangle? In 1970 Charles Berlitz, author of numerous books on paranormal phenomena, published his version of the facts: according to him, in the area known as the Bermuda Triangle is an ancient underground continent, in fact, it is the sunken continent of the might Atlantean empire.
Atlantis and the Bimini Road
It is said that the Bimini road is actually a pathway that leads to Atlantis. Interestingly, in 1933 Edgar Cayce said that near what is known as Bimini, records about Atlantis would be found, there are portions of Atlantean temples to be found. The small island was not Atlantis itself according to Cayce, but an Atlantean outpost, known in the distant past as Alta and extending all the way to present day Florida. Could it be that somewhere near Bimini, the mighty kingdom of Atlantis once existed? On a large island that is now long lost to the sea?

The streaking fireball cutting through the sky has been witnessed by hundreds of people, across several countries.
This footage was taken from a car showing the odd light floating in the sky above the furniture stores warehouse in the city of Omsk in western Siberia.

UFO: The odd sight was spotted buzzing above IKEA
But it was also seen on Tuesday evening in the cities of Tyumen, Tomsk and Novosibirsk, as well as the Kazakstan capital of Astana.
Local astronomers have ruled out a comet, and played down suggestions it was a meteor.
One theory is that it was a test firing ordered by Vladimir Putin launching from the Kapustin Yar cosmodrome in southern Russia.
Astronomers at the planetarium of the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies in Novosibirsk said of the sightings: "It is definitely not a comet."

RUSSIA: THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OBSERVE A MYSTERIOUS “VORTEX OF LIGHT” IN THE SKIES OF OMSK
A mysterious luminous object was sighted on the evening of November 17, 2015, thousands of people in the skies of the city of Omsk in Siberia (Russia).
The bright object was seen by thousands of people then flocked to the streets to watch the show in the skies of Omsk. Subsequently there was a real invasion on social networks, where thousands of witnesses, who shared photos and videos, as well as the various experiences of this exceptional sighting. Until now, the Russian Ministry of Defense has never stated that the sighting of Omsk was due to the launch of a spacecraft or the return of an intercontinental ballistic missile.
UFO hunters claim astronaut Scott Kelly has evidence of aliens lingering around the International Space Station.
They say they have spotted an alien ship in the top right corner of an image Kelly tweeted of India from 250 miles (400km) above the Earth.
Kelly was 'trying to tell the world about the existence of aliens' without directly saying anything, conspiracy theorists claim.
But, like many of the so-called motherships seen in space images, this may just be part of the ISS projecting out in front of the camera lens.

The accompanying tweet to the images: 'Day 233. Once upon a #star over Southern India. #GoodNight from @space_station! #YearInSpace.'
In a video made by YouTube channel Sonofmabarker, the narrator said: 'In the upper right of the photo you can clearly see a large object with two lights on each end.
'I would find it hard to believe that Scott Kelly did not notice this when he tweeted this out.
'It really sticks out like a sore thumb. Scott Kelly thank you for sending this photo down to Earth.
Scott Waring, editor of blog site UFOsightingsdaily.com, said: 'When an astronaut tweets a photo of a UFO, you can bet people notice it.

THE ISS IN NUMBERS
Construction of the ISS began on 20 November 1998. It supports a crew of up to six, with crews typically split into groups of three.
The station orbits at a height of about 255 miles (410km). It has a total mass of about 990,000 pounds (450,000kg) and has living space roughly equivalent to a five-bedroom house.
It completes an orbit of Earth every 92.91 minutes and moves at 17,100 miles (27,600km) per hour.
It has now been in space for more than 6,000 days, during which time it has completed more than 92,500 orbits of Earth, and has been continuously occupied for more than 14 years.
'Scott Kelly likes to send out photos of the view from the windows of the space station, and they look cool.
He describes the latest 'sighting' as a cigar-shaped glowing UFO with a metallic body that is around 25 meters long and 150 to 200 meters away from the ISS.
'It looks like Scott was trying to hint at the existence of aliens. Message received Scott, and thanks.'
This isn't the first time conspiracy theorists have seen what they believe to be an alien ship around the ISS,
in August, footage allegedly taken from a Nasa camera shows a pink and white object soaring across space.
It reignited claims the ISS is being 'monitored by extra-terrestrials'.
The short clip, uploaded to YouTube, is the latest to fuel claims that extra terrestrials are monitoring Earth
The supposed sighting came after another Nasa video, shot from the ISS in June, which showed mysterious lights 'leaving' Earth before the stream cut.
According to a prolific Nasa watcher, YouTube user Streetcap1, it proved Nasa is trying its best to prevent us knowing about a mysterious alien race.
The most likely explanation is much more mundane, with the sudden blackout caused by either a camera glitch or a fragment of space debris.
Streetcap1 captioned the video: 'During a period when the camera is moving for around two minutes, Nasa captures a distant pink and gold object.
'Caught August 3 2015. We need them to maybe start pointing the ISS cameras outward and stop treating people like children.'
A prolific Nasa watcher earlier this year said this pink orb proves the Space Station is being watched
Many commenters accuse Streetcap1 of doctoring the footage. The user admitted to adjusting the lighting to 'bring out' and 'clarify' certain qualities, but insists the rest is direct from Nasa.
The June video is a short clip taken from Nasa's ISS live stream, which shows the views from cameras on the space station.
Created by Mister Enigma on YouTube, the video advises viewers to watch in full screen mode as 'the UFOs are really small.'
Watching the video, a small speck of light can be seen very faintly in the distance rising from the atmosphere.
The feed from Nasa then cuts out, with the message: 'Please stand by.
The orb can be seen floating into view. YouTube user Streetcap1 admitted to altering colours on the video
The user complains that Nasa is deliberately pointing the camera inward so we cannot see the UFOs
'The High Definition Earth Viewing experiment is either switching cameras, or we are experiencing a temporary loss of signal with the International Space Station.'
The video then replays the footage but zooms in, showing what seem to be two rotating dots rising from the atmosphere.
But before proclaiming that humanity has finally made first contact with aliens, it's probably worth pointing out that there are several more rational explanations.
First, the quality of the video is extremely low. The two specks of light could simply be a glitch in the footage, or a glint of sunlight.
It could also be some space debris orbiting Earth, or even a satellite.
And the timing of Nasa switching off the video, while unfortunate, is certainly not on purpose; Nasa often switches cameras or temporarily turns off the feed.
Does this NASA footage prove that aliens exist?
Nasa cut away from a live ISS stream the other day. The agency often cuts away to change cameras or when it's out of range. But some conspiracy theorists claimed to have seen UFOs in the video. And they claim Nasa ended the stream to prevent people seeing the 'aliens'. The object is seen in the red ring
This can be for a number of reasons, such as the station moving out of range of ground stations.
It's also highly unlikely that Nasa monitors this feed constantly, as it runs almost around the clock seven days a week, apart from these brief stops.
'I'm a bit suspicious of this video, it could be of 'real' objects out there or some form of camera trickery,' Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, told MailOnline.
'UFO spotters love to see any object or flick of light out there as proof that extraterrestrial craft are monitoring our planet, and are keeping an eye on the ISS at a distance.
'Though if they are piloted by aliens using advanced technology wouldn't they have perfected the means to hide themselves completely from our cameras?'

UFO buzzes IKEA: another mystery flying object filmed over Siberia
UFO buzzes IKEA: another mystery flying object filmed over Siberia
By Olga Gertcyck
Filmed here over the city of Omsk, the meteor - or was it a rocket or test firing of a ballistic missile? - startled people over a swathe of territory.
Streaking fireball provoked jokes about aliens and Batman's calling card, but no-one could definitively explain a flying object. Picture: Vkontakte
Described as 'scary but beautiful', the streaking fireball provoked jokes about aliens and Batman's calling card, but no-one could definitively explain a flying object that was also seen far to the south in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Footage highlighted by major media outlet LifeNews showed the UFO flashing fast track over the local IKEA furniture store in Omsk, heading in an easterly direction. Yet it is one of a number of recent unexplained flying objects over Siberia - links to others are here.

Astronomers at the planetarium of the Siberian State University of Geosystems and Technologies in Novosibirsk said of the early evening 17 November sightings: 'It is definitely not a comet.'
Their theory was that 'the object was the second stage of intercontinental ballistic missile Topol launched at 15:12 Moscow time (or 18:12 Novosibirsk time) from Kapustin Yar cosmodrome in Astrakhan region.'
The object was seen both in Omsk and far to the south in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Picture: Mossess, Artem Stavinsky
Insider Camila Sharzhanova explained that the exact construction of the newest modification of Topol RS-12M is a secret but she speculated that the object was the second stage of the new missile. 'It was whirling so that the trajectory doesn't change, the fuel left was discharged through side nozzles.'
TASS stated that the missile hit its trial target at Saryshagan polygon in Kazakhstan. Yet many doubted that its routing would take it over Tymen and Novosibirsk, which is some 1,200km distant.
It could be a rocket launched on Plesetsk cosmodrome or Topol-M launched from Kapustin Yar and fallen on Saryshagan. Picture: The Siberian Times
And there was a different view from Omsk. Vladimir Krupko, head of the city's planetarium, said: 'I am 100% sure it was a launch. I saw a ring and a moving cloud. Most probably, it was the engine's discharge.
'Given the direction, could be from Plesetsk (in northern Russia), but I can't find information about any launch, there is information only about a launch of a military satellite from Plesetsk in the afternoon.'

KOTA KINABALU: Three young men have claimed witnessing an unidentified flying object (UFO) that appeared to be burning, descending at Dumpil Bay, Putatan, on Monday. However, the authorities have dismissed the claim as a hoax after a fruitless search in the area.
The three young men, Shahrizal Matusin, 20, Rozaidin Alimudin, 24, and Azmi Lamjin, 28, were reportedly heading back to Lok Kawi on their motorcycles after attending their friends’ birthday party around 1.30 am on Monday when they spotted a huge burning object shaped like a plane slowly descending into the sea 50 metres away near the Lok Kawi Army Camp.
The trio immediately halted their motorbikes to get a closer look but the sea appeared to be calm as usual and the unidentified object seemed to have disappeared into thin air.
They subsequently informed the police who conducted a search with a rescue unit. The search ended four hours later.
Penampang police chief DSP Rosley Hobden later confirmed that the sighting could be a hoax as the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) had no report on any flying objects or a crash on its radar at that time.

X Files is finally back ... but fans will be spooked by new changes to show
EXCLUSIVE:Gillian Anderson reveals massive spoiler ahead of new series
X appeal ... Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny 20th Century Fox
THE X-FILES heroine Gillian Anderson has revealed a massive spoiler ahead of its return to TV – there will be no aliens.
The six-episode tenth series is due to be shown from January after fans called for a revival of the 1990s sci-fi smash hit.
But Gillian, who plays FBI agent Dana Scully alongside David Duchovny’s agent Fox Mulder, has revealed that while the new series will be scary, unlike every previous series it will feature no extraterrestrials.
She said: “Will there be aliens in it? No, no aliens this year, sorry. It will be scary. I hope it will be good.
“There’ll be some laughs and I think overall, even though I haven’t seen any of it, I’m most pleased with the fact it feels like what we used to deliver.
No spooks ... aliens are out in new series Alamy
“And that’s kind of what the audience and the fans seem to want.
“I think we have accomplished that. So hopefully it will be successful.” All the previous series focused on whether there was an alien conspiracy — and Mulder was even abducted.
The last series in 2002 revolved around alien “super soldiers” which appeared human and infiltrated the US government.
The X-Files is one of the most successful global hits of all time and ran for nine years from 1993 to 2002.
The saga spawned the catchphrase “The truth is out there” and two films, The X-Files: Fight The Future in 1998 and 2008’s The X-Files: I Want To Believe.

UFO Triangle captured above Golf Marina Tucson
UFO Triangle captured above Golf Marina Tucson
Have UFOs suddenly taken an interest in golf? On June 7, 2015 a triangular UFO has been photographed above the Golf Club at Dove Mountain in Marana, Arizona.
Witness report: On vacation (Tucson AZ) playing golf, watched and heard F18's flying around courses a lot that day, took picture of friend and saw craft in photo it made no sound unlike F18's, it was so far off I didn't think it was a craft, (maybe a bird) plus made no sound so I went back to playing golf.
Later that evening was looking at image with friend and we decided it had to be a craft of some kind. I worked for General Dynamics for few years and watched a lot of military aircraft flying and this looked nothing like any I have observed. It appeared to be ascending in a straight line at about a 20 degree angle. The sighting is reported to Mufon.

UFO chasers claim mummified children like this one found in ancient tombs are actually aliens
Alien investigators tried to garner support for their theory that the mummy, reportedly removed from a Mayan tomb in Mexico, is an extra terrestrial and not a child mummy, as sceptics claim.
the 50-inch-long mummy was shown during a UFO conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, where several 'UFO experts" tried to convince the crowds its eyes were too big to be that of a human child, and its "near non-existent ears" mean it is also not of this world.
Alien conspiracy theorists claim there is evidence in major historical sites of ancient civilisations, such as the Mayyan and Egyptians, that they were visited by advanced alien races, that helped them build structures such as ancient pyramids.
These conspiracy theories were further boosted last week, when it emerged last week that during thermal tests on the ancient pyramids in Egypt, heat spot anomalies were found in three blocks at the base.

The top 15 early UFO sightings
Although many UFO sightings often have rational explanations, a small number truly are unexplained. Here's our pick of the most compelling early UFO sightings from all over the world.
Sceptics produced evidence, however, including a display case sign, that identified it as the mummy of a two-year-old Native American child.
Most scientists, however, also believe the mummy on display at the Bulgarian conference, and those found earlier in Egypt are also nothing more than child mummies.

How would humanity change if we knew aliens existed?
How would humanity change if we knew aliens existed?
We have yet to discover any signs of an extraterrestrial civilization — a prospect that could quite literally change overnight. Should that happen, our sense of ourselves and our place in the cosmos would forever be shaken. It could even change the course of human history. Or would it? Last week, SETI's Seth Shostak made the claim that we'll detect an alien civilization by 2040.
Personally, I don't believe this will happen (for reasons I can elucidate in a future post — but the Fermi Paradox is definitely a factor, as is the problem of receiving coherent radio signals across stellar distances). But it got me wondering: What, if anything, would change in the trajectory of a civilization's development if it had definitive proof that intelligent extraterrestrials (ETIs) were real?
Finding a World Much Like Our Own
As I thought about this, I assumed a scenario with three basic elements.
First, that humanity would make this historic discovery within the next several years or so.
Second, that we wouldn't actually make contact with the other civilization (just the receipt, say, of a radio transmission — something like a Lucy Signal that would cue us to their existence).
And third, that the ETI in question would be at roughly the same level of technological development as our own (so they're not too much more advanced than we are; that said, if the signal came from an extreme distance, like hundreds or thousands of light-years away, these aliens would probably have advanced appreciably by now. Or they could be gone altogether, the victims of a self-inflicted disaster).
I tossed this question over to my friend and colleague Milan Cirkovic. He's a Senior Research Associate at the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade and a leading expert on SETI.
"Well, that's a very practical question, isn't it?" he responded. "Because people have been expecting something like this since 1960 when SETI was first launched — they haven't really been expecting to find billion-year old supercivilizations or just some stupid bacteria."
Indeed, the underlying philosophy of SETI over the course of its 50-year history has been that we'll likely detect a civilization roughly equal to our own — for better or worse. And no doubt, in retrospect it started to look "for worse" when the hopes of an early success were dashed.
Frank Drake and his colleagues thought they would find signs of ETIs fairly quickly, but that turned out not to be the case (though Drake's echo can still be heard in the unwarranted contact optimism of Seth Shostak)."Enormous Implications""Some people argued that a simple signal wouldn't mean much for humanity," added Cirkovic, "but I think Carl Sagan, as usual, had a good response to this."
Specifically, Sagan said that the very understanding that we are not unique in the universe would have enormous implications for all those fields in which anthropocentrism reigns supreme.
"Which means, I guess, half of all the sciences and about 99% of the other, non-scientific discourse," said Cirkovic. Sagan also believed that the detection of a signal would reignite enthusiasm for space in general, both in terms of research and eventually the colonization of space.
"The latter point was quite prescient, actually, because at the time he said this there wasn't much enthusiasm about it and it was much less visible and obvious than it is today," he added.
No doubt — this would likely generate tremendous excitement and enthusiasm for space exploration. In addition to expanding ourselves into space, there would be added impetus to reach out and meet them.
At the same time, however, some here on Earth might counterargue that we should stay home and hide from potentially dangerous civilizations (ah, but what if everybody did this?). Ironically, some might even argue that we should significantly ramp-up our space and military technologies to meet potential alien threats.
Developmental Trajectories
In response to my query about the detection of ETIs affecting the developmental trajectory of civilizations, Cirkovic replied that both of Sagan's points can be generalized to any civilization at their early stages of development.
He believes that overcoming speciesist biases, along with a constant interest and interaction with the cosmic environment, must be desirable for any (even remotely) rational actors anywhere. But Cirkovic says there may be exceptions — like species who emerge from radically different environments, say, the atmospheres of Jovian planets. Such species would likely have a lack of interest in surrounding space, which would be invisible to them practically 99% of the time.
So if Sagan is correct, detecting an alien civilization at this point in our history would likely be a good thing. In addition to fostering science and technological development, it would motivate us to explore and colonize space.
And who knows, it could even instigate significant cultural and political changes (including the advent of political parties both in support of and in opposition to all this). It could even lead to new religions, or eliminate them altogether.
Another possibility is that nothing would change.
Life on Earth would go on as per usual as people work to pay their bills and keep a roof above their heads.
There could be a kind of detachment to the whole thing, leading to a certain ambivalence.
At the same time however, it could lead to hysteria and paranoia. Even worse, and in twisted irony, the detection of a civilization equal to our own (or any life less advanced than us, for that matter) could be used to fuel the Great Filter Hypothesis of the Fermi Paradox.
According to Oxford's Nick Bostrom, this would be a strong indication that doom awaits us in the (likely) near future — a filter that affects all civilizations at or near our current technological stage. The reason, says Bostrom, is that in the absence of a Great Filter, the galaxy should be teeming with super-advanced ETIs by now. Which it's clearly not.
Yikes. Stupid Fermi Paradox — always getting in the way of our future plans.

UFO Fires Its Guns at Chemtrails, Bizarre Residue Starts Falling
UFO Fires Its Guns at Chemtrails, Bizarre Residue Starts Falling
Here is plenty of evidence showing UFO activity on our planet, but what are these mysterious flying crafts actually doing here?
While investigating the sky for strange phenomenon, UFO hunters have stumbled upon these enigmatic bright orbs that seem to perform diverse actions right above our heads. They can be seen during the night while executing physics-defying maneuvers, brisk turns and strange dips in brightness. The orbs appear even during the day, unconcerned about the humans observing them.
During the last couple of months, it seems that their activity has intensified, with reports coming from all over the world, not only from UFO hunters, but also from regular people surprised by these UFOs. What they try to achieve or who controls them remains to be discovered, but for the moment, we’ll reveal a small glimpse of what these orbs are doing.
The renowned UFO hunter and analyst Mr. Crow managed to film such an orb during the day while shooting into the chemtrails. He did an amazing job highlighting the shots fired by the orb. As you will notice, the strange shots are nothing compared to what we’ve seen on our earthly crafts, as one missile goes forward while the second is fired from the side of the orb (barely visible because of chemtrail cloud).
The above video reveals an unusual behavior of a UFO or bright orb as it was called, shooting at something found into the chemtrails. Before it performs this action, the orb speeds up for a brief amount of time before suddenly slowing down. A second shot coming from its left side is visible, thus exposing an otherworldly shooting system. After the firing is over, bizarre white residue falls from the sky, indicating that the orb hit its target, whatever that was.
As Mr. Crow stated in the video, the orbs could be either controlled by someone or they could possess an independent will and act on their own, as if they were programmed:
At this point, I can safely say these are intelligent things or they are being intelligently controlled. It seems to me that they are probably not with the chem planes, they are not on the same mission as the chem planes, otherwise why would they be shooting things? That’s just my guess, nothing more!
The mysterious orbs have a few things in common: they pulsate, merging from a big ball of light to an almost invisible dot on the sky, they perform maneuvers defying the laws of physics and after they accomplish the mission (whatever that may be), they fly up until they go out of sight. Could the peculiar flying orbs be part of a secret military or governmental project? Are they being controlled by someone or do they act as programmed?
As far as we are concerned, these bright orbs might be artificially intelligent (AI) devices because of the advanced features they seem to possess. After further analysis, they are believed to be about 9-feet wide. The strange devices can be seen at night performing strange rituals at high altitude even without special equipment.
Reports referring to these peculiar sightings appeared from early 2000s, this way excluding any drone possibilities. When thinking about a military jet or helicopter scenario, the sparkling orbs contradicts this theory through their extended maneuverability and newly discovered circular shooting system.
The presented case offers great insight into the UFO phenomenon, as it clearly shows that something really strange is happening above us. Could this mean that planet Earth is home to an alien base, or does it point towards a mothership hypothesis? Are we humans part of a much bigger picture, with aliens, AI and our governments on the same part of the bargain?
Whatever the case, until further evidence we can only take a wild guess at what these things are and what their purpose might be, but in order to better understand this phenomenon and to see how real it is, the video below will show more disclosing UFO activity. Spread the word before this gets deleted!

UFO-shaped clouds above Bendigo | Photos
UFO-shaped clouds above Bendigo | Photos
By Joseph Hinchliffe
Have you snapped any strange cloud formations? We’d love to see them. Share them with us via Facebook, tag them #BendigoClouds on Instagram or email them to ashley.fritsch@fairfaxmedia.com.au
A Maiden Gully woman saw two strange objects objects hovering above Bendigo at around midday yesterday.
“They looked like space ships to me,” Cathie Simpson said.
LENTICULAR CLOUDS: Caught Cathie Simpson's attention in Lockwood yesterday due to their strange, space-ship like shape.
The office manager was leaving work at about 12:45pm when they caught her attention and she snapped a picture on her iPhone to discover what they were.
The answer: lenticular clouds. Stationary, lens-shaped clouds which form in the troposphere, normally in perpendicular alignment to the wind direction.
“Basically, they're formed when air is lifted over ranges – typically by stronger winds – and a wave is formed in the flow,” Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Stephen King said.
“The clouds then tend to form in the peaks of these waves.
“They were also visible around the Melbourne area.”
Because of their shape, lenticular clouds are sometimes cited as explanations for UFO sightings.

Aliens Are Always Relevant
Aliens Are Always Relevant
While at breakfast with my friend earlier this week, our conversation quickly turned extraterrestrial. Blame the recent blow up in the news about the bizarre missile sightings in Los Angeles and Houston, or maybe the endless “X-Files” memes and screenshots that douse our Tumblr dashboards — but, in general, aliens and space travel are brought up pretty much daily. This time, however, there was an added level of gravity to the typically-silly subject.
“Think about it. What if aliens actually did land on Earth? Like… What do we do? Are humans ready for that?” We asked each other, eyes bugging out and images of aliens chilling poolside with us flipping through our minds.
With these pop culture references in a way normalizing the existence of life outside of Earth, most of us have become so entertained by the fantasy of an invasion, even forgetting just how scary the actualization of that hypothetical would be.
Alien fixation is not a recent pop culture phenomenon. Mankind is peppered with documentation of strange UFO sightings (taking the acronym of “unidentified flying object” in its most literal context). There’s Roman writer Julius Obsequens’s description of “burning globes” and “round shields” in A.D. 393, the flying “fire-breathing dragons” in China A.D. 747; let’s not even get started on all of the Stonehenge, Great Pyramid and Easter Island Head conspiracies. Point being, there’s an entire human history of weird shit in the sky and people marveling at them with skepticism.
And now, it goes beyond the realm of ancient sightings — astrophysics has hopped on board the “are aliens real?” bandwagon. Frank Drake developed an equation in 1961 that puts, in numerical terms, the estimation of communicative extraterrestrial life in the Milky Way. It measures the number of planets with detectable signs of life, the number of stars observed, the fraction of stars that are quiet, the fraction of stars with rocky planets in the habitable zone, the fraction of those planets that can be observed, the fraction that have life, and the fraction on which life forms reveal their existence by sending signals into space. Taking into account just how massive the Milky Way is, the question turns from “will we come into contact with aliens?” to “how have we not contacted any yet?”
We playfully raise our eyebrows at “missiles” on a Saturday night and tune in every episode to ridicule the pseudoscience behind “Ancient Aliens,” transforming aliens into an aesthetically-pleasing facet of pop culture. And yet, it’s also so terrifying to think about them being real. Is this assimilation of aliens just an example of trying to quell our fears of the unknown, or a way of being in denial of how real they just could be? All I know is, our real fear should be the lizard people that live in the earth’s core.

Obama Reveals His Favorite Conspiracy Theory About His Administration
Obama Reveals His Favorite Conspiracy Theory About His Administration
President Barack Obama told GQ in an interview with Bill Simmons, creator of ESPN’s “30 for 30″ documentary series, published Tuesday that his favorite conspiracy theory to come up during his administration concerned a military exercise in Texas that prompted the state’s national guard to keep a watchful eye.
When asked by Simmons what he found to be “most entertaining conspiracy theory” he had ever read about himself, Obama responded, “That military exercises we were doing in Texas were designed to begin martial law so that I could usurp the Constitution and stay in power longer. Anybody who thinks I could get away with telling Michelle I’m going to be president any longer than eight years does not know my wife.”

Obama was talking about Operation Jade Helm 15, which was led by U.S. Special Operations Command from July to September in Texas. It also included New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado.
The exercise included the Army Special Forces Command, better known as Green Berets; Navy SEALs; Air Force Special Operations Command; Marine Special Operations Command; Marine Expeditionary Units; and the 82nd Airborne Division.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) directed the Texas State Guard to monitor the joint military exercise and provide updates.
“During the training operation, it is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed,” Abbott wrote in April.
Speaking more generally about conspiracy theories, Obama was asked, “Have you ever said, ‘Give me the JFK-assassination files, I want to read them. Give me all the secret stuff?’”
“I gotta tell you, it’s a little disappointing,” Obama replied. “People always ask me about Roswell and the aliens and UFOs, and it turns out the stuff going on that’s top secret isn’t nearly as exciting as you expect. In this day and age, it’s not as top secret as you’d think.”
