Almost every day, new UFO images and videos are posted all over the Internet for everyone to see. Here's one that, at first glance, may have you believing a fleet of otherworldly orbs were captured on video, maneuvering in wild patterns somewhere near Honolulu, Hawaii.

At least that's what it looks like in the following video, posted on Oct. 21, 2015, by YouTube channel Earth & Space News. The UFOs -- for lack of a better word at the moment -- are seen hovering, moving rapidly, darting back and forth, merging with each other, blinking in and out in unison. That's more than you normally get in a UFO video.

While this may appear to be incredible footage of strange lights in the sky, there are some credibility questions here.

First, the identity of the alleged videographer or the exact date and time of the video are not revealed. No information is offered that could help any research effort to learn more about this incident. But the video itself is riddled with visual problems.

"I would say this is definitely CGI [computer-generated imagery]," according to Ben Hansen, the former lead investigator of Syfy Channel's "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files."

Hansen points out several segments of the video that have reliability issues.

"At :26 in, the orb on the far left takes a short jog back and forth that didn't look like it was intended. This happens throughout the video. It looks like evidence of poor anchoring of the object to a fixed reference point," Hansen told HuffPost in an email.

"They do an OK job with tracking the animation layer over the background, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the video was also filmed off a projected screen of some sort to give the impression of zooming in and out with a handheld camera."

And what about all those moments when the alleged UFOs appear to suddenly blink out and then come right back, sometimes doing it simultaneously?

"The fact that the blinking lights usually all go out at the same time might indicate a laziness in editing," Hansen, an ex-FBI special agent, suggests. "It's much easier to turn off a whole animation layer than it is to take the time to individually adjust each light to fade in and out."

And there were weird interactions between the "orbs" and some clouds.

"They had some problems with clouds and rotoscoping (telling the software what objects to treat as separate layers). At 4:50, an orb is traveling upward through the cloud. It disappears through the edge of it as if it was behind the cloud. Yet, it then travels straight down, and now it's on top of the cloud. They either forgot it was supposed to travel behind it, or they just got lazy and didn't think it would be noticed."

Another visual problem occurs with the clouds. If you watch closely, you'll notice how (around the 6:20 mark), as the horizon sometimes bounces up and down, from camera movement, the clouds above it stay in the same place. Shouldn't they bounce as well?

One final issue should at least be mentioned. The following double image shows an identical moment from the video, with one interesting difference: The image on the left was posted by Earth & Space News on Oct. 21 of this year. The right side picture comes from another YouTube channel, FindingUFO, which posted a shortened version of the entire video on March 14, 2013.

Did The Nazis Build A Secret Antarctic Base?

In the 1930's, Nazis exploring the southern extremities of the globe set up a base (called base-211) in Antarctica. You may have heard of Operation Highjump and how Admiral Byrd had an altercation with entrenched German forces that overpowered them with amazing flying craft. A map from the Third Reich (obtained by Russian forces during WW2) has recently surfaced detailing not only the direct passageway used by German U-boats to access this subterranean domain, but also a complete map of both hemispheres of the inner realm of Agartha!

After the Soviet collapse in 1991, the KGB released previously classified files that cast light on the mysterious US led Naval expedition to Antarctica in 1947.

The intelligence report, gathered from Soviet KGB spies embedded in the US, revealed that the US Navy had sent the military expedition led by Admiral Byrd to find and destroy a hidden Nazi base.

 

On the way, they encountered and were defeated by a German saucer force that destroyed several ships and planes, forcing the US to retreat and implement a media cover-up lasting up until today.

Officially called “The United States Navy Antarctic Development Program,” the naval component of Operation Highjump was comprised of 4700 military personnel, an aircraft carrier (the USS Philippine Sea among the largest of all carriers of the time), and a number of naval support ships and aircraft.

 

The Naval expedition was headed by famed polar explore Admiral Richard Byrd, who had been ordered to:

 

“to consolidate and extend American sovereignty over the largest practical area of the Antarctic continent. To establish Little America”

 

Byrd’s expedition ended after only 8 weeks with “many fatalities” according to initial news reports based on interviews with crew members who spoke to the press while passing through Chilean ports.

 

Rather than deny the heavy casualty reports, Admiral Byrd revealed in an interview that they had encountered a new enemy that “could fly from pole to pole at incredible speeds.”

 

Admiral Byrd’s statements were published in the Chilean Press but never publicly confirmed by US authorities. Indeed Byrd did not speak again to the Press about Operation Highjump, leaving it for researchers to speculate for decades over what really happened, and why Byrd was silenced.

 

 

If the fortress was in Antarctica, was it built by the Nazis, or discovered there? After the defeat of Nazi Germany, according various sources, elite Nazi scientists and leaders escaped to this impregnable fortress by Uboats, two of which experienced difficulties and surrendered in Argentina.

‘I have proved aliens exist,’ claims doc who snapped ‘best UFO pic of the YEAR’

Dr Richard O’Connor, 60, has snapped almost 280,000 pictures using two motion detector cameras which are locked on the sky at his home in Helena, Montana, USA.But he believes the latest few include the long-sought evidence of alien-flown UFOs (unidentified flying objects).

The semi-retired anesthesiologist at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, claims there are no other logical explanations for the sequence of five pictures showing an object flying through the skies.

He said: “In my opinion, even a hardened sceptic would say ‘Wow, that is what I expect a UFO would look like.’

 

“It appears to be a light source.

 

“These photographs are proof positive that UFOs are real.”

After he posted them online, a fury of debate erupted among the UFO community, with some suggestions they were fake or not conclusive proof.Now Dr O’Connor is enlisting more photo experts to examine his captures.Some have claimed Dr O’Connor has not come into the research impartially, as he has been a long supporter of the crop circles being caused by aliens myth and heads the Crop Circles Research Foundation.He is also a believer of the 1947 Roswell “UFO crash” incident in New Mexico through his friendship with Jesse Marcel Jr, whose father Major Jesse Marcel is said to have shown him, when aged just 10, pieces of wreckage from the alleged UFO crash at the time. 

Dr O’Connor put up two Reconyx Hyperfire PC 900 Trail cameras 30 feet high on the southeast corner of his house, hoping to catch some evidence of UFOs if they set off the motion detector.

 

When triggered by motion, the cameras, which are about 30 feet off the ground, shoot 20 photos at approximately 1-second intervals.

The cameras shoot 20 photos at one second intervals if activated and this has seen him snap several birds, squirrels and wind-blow treetops.But he finally snapped what he says he has been looking for – proof of UFOs – this winter.He said: “Basically what you see it a very symmetrical, smooth and reflective surface that appears to have his own light source.”He says he has no knowledge how to manipulate images and has sent the stills to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) which investigates and keeps a database of UFO sightings.

Peter Davenport, head of NUFORC, sent them to a photo-analyst for further investigation.

 

The unnamed analyst said: “Bottom line, I think the images are real, but remain a mystery.

 

“I suspect the lights in the first and last photos are sun reflections off of something rather than any propulsion system.

 

“Thus, I conclude it is a puzzle to solve rather than a fake.”

 

However, a separate analyst, who looked at them, suggested they were “100 % fake, ” angering Dr O’Connor who swore to take a lie detector test over them.

 

Dr O’Connor added “What you see there is what came off that camera.“They deserve to be studied in a “well-funded, unbiased scientific study to determine if we are being visited.”A third analyst gave him more hope, reporting: “This photo is an interesting one. The colours of the object resembles the surrounding blue sky and clouds.“This would naturally occur with highly reflective silver objects.

“The fact it was 1/20 second frame rules out balloons or other man-made objects.

 

“It also indicates the objects decelerated and accelerated and held position for just one frame, as there’s no elongated motion line that would have occurred if the velocity was constant.”

 

Dr O’Connor added: “I am interested in the truth.

 

“If I am subject to criticism to get to the bottom of this, then I guess it’s part of the deal.”

 

Scott C waring, editor of UFO Sightings Daily, said: ‘This has to be the most clear UFO photo we have seen all year long.

 

“It was shot during the day, in a part of Montana that has a very low population.”

 

An online poster said: I don’t know what they are, but it does not prove UFOs and aliens just yet.”

"UFOs over Poland" Xtras: The Huta Incident (1987)

It was approaching us, flying just over the ground. We could clearly see that it had a ‘black cloak’ around its body. The silence was terrifying while we were observing the creature’s eerie yellow – colored eyes. Then the whole creature radiated with a yellow glow. I felt pins and needles in my chest as if someone was sucking out all of my energy - said Mrs. Malgorzata - witness to a high-strangeness incident in the Huta area of Poland.

My book "UFOs OVER POLAND" of which the subtitle is "The Land of High Strangeness" is a cross section of the Polish history of UFO sightings with many incidents sounding stranger than ordinary UFO stories. Moreover, for many years along with my friend and researchers from Poland, Arek Miazga, Damian Trela and Przemek Więcławski, we began to search for cases that transgress the borders between UFO events and paranormal experiences of various kinds. 

This involves amongst other incidents what I call "living folklore" or "Magonia in action". It’s the kind of cases that ufologists often hesitate do disclose, fearing ridicule not only from skeptics but from nuts-and-bolts flying-saucer buffs as well. I refer to encounters with strange beings that can be interpreted both as alien and/or magical/folklore beings. Mr. Marian B.’s case from 1969 mentioned in "UFOs OVER POLAND" is the best example. The man related to me that along with several friends he came across a tall being with a gray head surrounded by a halo with a blue body that radiated light. He then took it for an alien of some sort but was sure that for religious people the entity would have been viewed as an angel rather than an alien. 

The case I’m going to introduce you to now is from the other end of the scale. It comes from the archive of Damian Trela - one of the most respected researchers in today’s Poland and involves the meeting with a strange demonic entity in Huta village (dolnoslaskie, powiat klodzki) - located in south-western Poland, near Walbrzych, famous now from the hunt of the Nazi’s "Gold Train".

While in Mr. Marian’s case the boys were chasing the entity, in Huta it was just the opposite. The main witness, Mrs. Malgorzata contacted Damian in Summer 2015 (so I was unable to mention the story in the book). She is a journalist still having vivid memories about an experience that took place in her teenage years. Malgorzata even wrote a short story about her encounter that took place in early July 1987. Huta village itself is lost in the Bystrzyckie Mountains and it is a popular tourist destination. 

Below is an excerpt from Damian Trela’s report on the Huta case containing the main witness descriptions. The full version can be read in Polish on Damian’s blog "Czas Tajemnic" (click to read English tranlation via Google). 

Here’ is the main witnesses’ description of the event: 

On the evening in question myself and a group of my friends we were watching movies on a brand new video set at our friend’s house. At some point (to our surprise) the video went off. It was strange but we simply decided to go and visit our friend Pawel living in a house nearby which stands on its own looking rather lonely in the clearing in the woods. Some of us went on motorbikes, others went on foot. My brother was amongst the bike riders while I was one of the group that went on foot. The road we took passed through forests and clearings used by local residents. After a hot day, clouds appeared in the sky and the air was hot and stifling - she reported adding that all of them know the area well and had grown up there. 

They left Pawel’s house about midnight and each decided to return home. 

We were walking close to each other but Piotr (one of our friends) was lagging behind. While walking across one of the clearings, he quickly approached us saying in low tone that someone was following us. I said to him that it must be a wild animal of some kind but when the road took us to the forest, anxious Piotr repeated the warning. I could not see anything and tried to comfort him but others in our group began to worry. Holding hands, we marched ahead. We soon saw a huge clearing with adjacent forest that surrounded my house. And it was exactly at that moment when we were confronted by 'the entity'. 

At first I couldn’t distinguish the contours of its body in the dark but the most frightening thing was the creature’s yellowish eyes. It wasn’t an animal - she said adding that soon it turned out that the entity was around 5 ft tall and is dressed in a black ‘cloak’ with a pointed hood. 

All the details of its bodily appearance were obscured by the cloak. It seemed to me that it was hovering over the ground and when it approached we could see that it was indeed hovering. What is even more interesting is that in my mind I could feel that the darkness and 'coolness' of the being was unnatural. Added to this everything around us went totally silent. There was no noise at all. 

The creature was approaching us, flying just over the ground. We could clearly see the black cloak around its body. The silence was terrifying while we were observing its yellow eyes. It stopped about 90 ft away. (…) At that moment the whole being radiated with a yellow glow. I felt pins and needles in my chest as if someone was draining all the energy from me. The yellowish eyes turned orange. I’m not able to say how we broke away from the entity’s paralyzing influence but we did and ran like mad to my house. I grasped the doorknob but it was locked. At exactly the same moment we looked behind us noticing that the being was thankfully gone!

But it’s not enough for the "Land of High Strangeness". Soon Malgorzata noticed that her noisy dog with its fierce reputation was seen cowering in its kennel. The dog was definitely frightened. Then yet another chapter of this bizarre story began. 

I saw something white in the clearing in front of my house. It was fog-like but unnatural and of strange shape. It covered a small area and soon I noticed that it was coming in our direction. When it was just a few steps away, the being appeared out of it. Again it tried to approach. My friend grasped hold of me and as again I felt weak. Again it was the same as before - the entity started to glow and its slanted eyes turned from orange to yellow.

This frightening scene was interrupted by Malgorzata’s brother who returned home with his motorcycle. He didn’t believe in the story and opened the door that wasn’t locked at all although the girl and her friends had not able to open them. Fortunately, the being was gone and did not return but the witness still remembers the incident that left an imprint in her mind forever. 

There was yet another strange element – that of "missing time". Malgorzata said that to her the encounter with the strange being lasted a very long time although they only had a 1 km walk. Moreover - as Damian reported - one of Malgorzata’s friends (not involved in the described event) related that on the same night he saw a "light" shooting out of the forest. It just rocketed into sky and was gone- he said. Malgorzata added that a circular mark on the ground was found in the area where the UFO was allegedly seen but no photos are available and as a result it is hard to put a great deal of value on this kind of information.

Scientists believe they have finally found what causes the mysterious lights on dwarf planet Ceres

Scientists are finally sure they have found out what causes the mysterious bright lights on the surface of Dwarf Planet Ceres. The anomalous lights have caused great confusion in the astronomic community ever since their discovery. But finally, two scientific studies could finally explain one of the greatest ‘new’ mysterious in our solar system.

 

The mysterious features are found in the Occator crater, which has a sharp rim, walls, and abundant terraces and landslide deposits. Occator is considered as one of the youngest features on Ceres, as scientists estimate its age to be around 78 million years.

 

While NASA astronomers already had several hypotheses, an international team of scientists claims to have discovered the nature of the reflective material that shines from the planet Ceres, also known as the Death Star.

 

Andreas Nathues, lead author of one study, from the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Germany, announced that the material that causes the mysterious bright lights is consistent with a type of magnesium sulfate called hexahydrite. A different type of magnesium sulfate is familiar on Earth as Epsom salt.

 

“The global nature of the bright spots of Ceres indicates that the planet has a layer containing brackish underground water ice,” said Nathues, which further reinforces the theory that Ceres holds beneath its surface a huge amount of frozen water.

 

 

The surface of Ceres, whose average diameter is 584 miles (940 kilometers), is generally dark — similar in brightness to fresh asphalt — study authors wrote. The inner portion of a crater called Occator contains the brightest material on Ceres.

 

In the second study presented in the Journal Nature, members of the Dawn science team worked on examining the composition of Ceres and discovered evidence of Ammonia-rich clays.

 

“The presence of ammonia-bearing species suggests that Ceres is composed of material accreted in an environment where ammonia and nitrogen were abundant. Consequently, we think that this material originated in the outer cold solar system,” said Maria Cristina De Sanctis, lead author of the study, based at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Rome.

 

The presence of the ammoniated compounds suggests a revolutionary theory. It is possible that Ceres did not originate in the main asteroid belt, between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, where it resides today, but could have formed outside of our solar system in the distant past.

 

Ufologists however, have a very different opinion.

 

According to them, he Occator crater is filled with ‘anomalous’ structures that are anything but natural formations. Several Ufologists who have taken a look at the newest images from dwarf planet Ceres suggest that several ‘buildings’ are seen next to the bright spots. Researchers have not been able to explain the mysterious shapes and bright spots that have caused quite a debate on social networks.

 

Ceres’ bright spots aren’t the only thing anomalous that NASA has found. Recently, experts have identified hat appears to be a giant pyramidal structure on the surface of the planet. NASA has surprised us all with the images that will surely provide a lot to talk about among ufologists and researchers. Ceres is a dwarf planet where almost everything is flat and deserted, but thanks to the newest images of the Dawn spacecraft, experts have found, in the middle of nowhere, pyramidal structures standing tall and “proud”.

Hundreds of people View UFO from California to Nevada… (Video included)

Hundreds of people have seen a major UFO sighting of a “blazing UFO” from California all the way to Nevada.

 

Authorities have since claimed it was a “Russian SL4” which itself is actually quite disturbing.

 

This is not the first of its kind though, which has been chalked up as being a rocket or military exercise of some sort. Just one month ago there was major speculation about a possible UFO which was seen by hundreds of people once again.

 

 

The authorities, likewise, explained it was a rocket, which, again, is actually just as interesting when compared to the prospect of a UFO.

 

Many, however, believe both of these incidents are just the usual conventional explanations to prevent the masses from questioning the existence of UFOs.

 

According to a report from ABC in relation to the sighting a month ago, “Vandenberg Air Force Base did not launch any rockets Saturday evening, according to a representative.”

 

This only fuels the fire of what this may have been, since sightings took place overnight from Saturday  to Sunday.

 

According to the Sunday Express, reporting last month on this story, “California has been UFO hotspot in recent weeks, with a bizarre ‘alien corpse’ found outside someone’s home, the day after another mass ‘blue UFO’ sighting, which was later explained by the authorities as a Trident missile test.”

 

A well known Pastor named Paul Begley was one of the witnesses and videoed the incident. He believes it was most likely a missile, in the form of a warning shot, being fired due to tensions between the US and Russia, which itself is extremely disturbing.

 

“I know it was not a meteor, it was way too slow. It was a rocket of some sort, I don’t know if it was from the US, Russia or China, but there is a lot of tension.”

 

Now we have a similar situation and this time it is claimed to be a Russian rocket. The obvious question here, is what is going on? Is there a covert game of chicken being played between Russia and the United States? Is this possibly of alien origin? Or is it something else?

 

A few months ago in September, an incredible sighting took place in Miami which was claimed to be a rocket launch, but people are once again very suspicious and after you watch the video you will understand why.

Declassified Paranormal FBI Files

For those that don't know, a few years ago, I began a quest to see if all of the alleged members of the Majestic-12 group (MJ-12) had FBI Files. As many of us know, MJ-12 was a rumored Top Secret group of scientists, military leaders, and government officials, formed in 1947 by an executive order by U.S. President Harry S. Truman to facilitate recovery and investigation of alien spacecraft. 

Nearly each and every alleged member had a file, most of which, were fairly large. However, to my surprise, many members also had their files (or portions thereof) DESTROYED. This is true for the newest file in the collection on Dr. Eric A. Walker. Although hundreds of pages were released, there were multiple files on Walker that were destroyed in the late 1970s and 1980s.

Animal Mutilations – [ File #1 | File #2 | File #3 | File #4 | File #5 ] – Animal/Cattle Mutilation In the mid-1970s, reports of scattered animal mutilations in western and mid-western states concerned many people. The FBI was asked to investigate, but was unable to do so because of a lack of jurisdiction (except when such mutilations were found on Indian lands). These files consist mainly of press clippings and correspondence concerning the issues between 1974 and 1978.

Browne. Sylvia – [ 52 Pages, 32MB ] This FBI File consists of the investigation into Browne for embezzlement and bank fraud. It was determined that Brown falsified financial records to obtain more than $1,000,000 in loans, and according to the FBI, lived an “extravagent lifestyle.”

Bushman, Boyd – (FOIA Response Letter) [ 37 Pages, 19.9MB ] In 2014, a video surfaced with Boyd Bushman, a retired Lockheed Martin Senior Scientist, with alleged photos of aliens. The video had a description that stated, “Shortly before Boyd Bushman passed away on August 7, 2014, he was video recorded candidly speaking about his personal experiences with Area 51, UFOs, aliens and anti-gravity ideas. Boyd was a retired Senior Scientist for Lockheed Martin. His career spanned over forty years, was awarded many patents, and included work with defense contractors Hughes Aircraft, General Dynamics, Texas Instruments, and Lockheed Martin.” Although the video is highly disputed, and the “alien” appears to be an exact prop that can be purchased at Walmart, I went after the FBI file of Mr. Bushman. This is what I found.

The Franck–Condon principle and the Slater–Condon rules are named after him.  Condon became widely known in 1968 as principal author of the Condon Report, an official review funded by the United States Air Force that concluded that unidentified flying objects (UFOs) have prosaic explanations. Hottel, Guy – [ File #1 ] Guy Hottel was a special agent in charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office. The information concerning Mr. Hottel is in regard to a March 22, 1950 memo he sent to the FBI Director concerning flying saucers.  This has been one of the FBI’s most downloaded document from their website, once they finally added it to the archive.

Hynek, J. Allen – [ 24 Pages, 1.42MB ] Dr. Josef Allen Hynek (May 1, 1910 – April 27, 1986) was a United States astronomer, professor, and ufologist. He is perhaps best remembered for his UFO research. Hynek acted as scientific adviser to UFO studies undertaken by the U.S. Air Force under three consecutive names: Projects Sign, Grudge and Blue Book. For decades afterwards, he conducted his own independent UFO research, developing the Close Encounter classification system, and is widely considered the father of the concept of scientific analysis of both reports and, especially, trace evidence purportedly left by UFOs.

An investigation into the disclosure was dropped when the US Air Force told the FBI that the disclosed information could not be declassified for purposes of prosecution.

LaPaz, Dr. Lincoln – [ File #1 | File #2 ] [ NSA Request Response for Records ] [ 9 Pages, 3.5MB ] – Lincoln LaPaz was an American astronomer from the University of New Mexico and a pioneer in the study of meteors.  In ufology, LaPaz’s name is often associated with UFO investigations on behalf of the military during the late 1940s and early 1950s. McDonald, Dr. James E. – [ 113 Pages, 64.81 MB ] – James Edward McDonald (May 7, 1920 – June 13, 1971) was an American physicist. He is best known for his research regarding UFOs. McDonald was senior physicist at the Institute for Atmospheric Physics and professor in the Department of Meteorology, University of Arizona, Tucson. McDonald campaigned in support of expanding UFO studies during the mid and late 1960s, arguing that UFOs represented an important unsolved mystery which had not been adequately studied by science. He was one of the more prominent figures of his time who argued in favor of the extraterrestrial hypothesis as a plausible, but not completely proved, model of UFO phenomena. McDonald interviewed over 500 UFO witnesses, uncovered many important government UFO documents, and gave important presentations of UFO evidence. It was a summary of the current UFO evidence and a critique of the 1969 Condon Report UFO study.

Newton, Silas – [ File #1 ] Silas Newton (1887-1972) was a wealthy oil producer and con-man who claimed that he had a gadget that could detect minerals and oil. He was cited as an authority in Frank Scully’s book Behind the Flying Saucers, a work that claimed to report on several UFO crashes in the area of New Mexico. In 1950, Newton said that a flying saucer crashed on land he leased in the Mojave Desert; however, he revised his claim in 1952, saying he never saw a flying saucer but had only repeated comments he heard from others. Project Blue Book – [ File #1 ] – Project Blue Book Originally Project Blue Book was the Air Force name for a project that investigated UFO reports between 1947 and 1969. Roswell – On July 8, 1947, the FBI Dallas Field Office sent a teletype regarding a “flying disc” that resembled a high altitude weather balloon found near Roswell, New Mexico.

The memo appeared to be a briefing for newly-elected President Eisenhower on a secret committee created to exploit a recovery of an extra-terrestrial aircraft and cover-up this work from public examination. An Air Force investigation determined the document to be a fake.

Berkner, Lloyd – [ 135 Pages, 10.43 MB ] – Lloyd Viel Berkner (February 1, 1905, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – June 4, 1967, in Washington, D.C.) was an American physicist and engineer. He was one of the inventors of the measuring device that since has become standard at ionospheric stations because it measures the height and electron density of the ionosphere. The data obtained in the worldwide net of such instruments  were important for the developing theory of short wave radio propagation to which Berkner himself gave important contributions. Bronk, Detlev – [ 248 Pages, 7.18 MB ] – Detlev Wulf Bronk (August 13, 1897 – November 17, 1975) was a prominent American scientist, educator, and administrator. Bronk served as President of Johns Hopkins University from 1949 to 1953 and as President of the The Rockefeller University from 1953 to 1968. Forrestal, James – [ 290 Pages, 32.66MB ] – James Vincent Forrestal (February 15, 1892 – May 22, 1949) was the last Cabinet-level United States Secretary of the Navy and the first United States Secretary of Defense. Forrestal was a supporter of naval battle groups centered on aircraft carriers. In 1954, the world’s first supercarrier was named USS Forrestal in his honor, as is the headquarters of the United States Department of Energy. He is also the namesake of the Forrestal Lecture Series at the United States Naval Academy, which brings prominent military and civilian leaders to speak to the Brigade of Midshipmen, and of the James Forrestal Campus of Princeton University in Plainsboro Township, New Jersey.

Truman. Prior to this, as Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence, Souers had been one of the architects of the system that came into being with the President’s directive. He had written the intelligence chapter of the Eberstadt Report, which advocated a unified intelligence system. Toward the end of 1945, when the competing plans for a national intelligence system were deadlocked, Souers’ views had come to the attention of the President, and he seems to have played a role in breaking the impasse.

Twining, General Nathan – [ 23 Pages, 15.43MB ] – Nathan Farragut Twining, (October 11, 1897 – March 29, 1982) was a United States Air Force General, born in Monroe, Wisconsin. The mission of Project ISIS included several Egyptologists from the Soviet Academy of Sciences, scientists, and military experts. The team was led by Sami Sharaf, a close aid of president Gamel Abdel Nasser of Egypt.

The first time this incredible story was mentioned was in the documentary of Project ISIS, the secret Russian expedition that took place in Egypt in 1961, the goal of the mission was to "uncover" the "Tomb of the Visitor". The documentary by the name The Secret KGB Abduction Files by the U.S. was first shown to the public in 1998.

 

According to the documentary, there is a video which reportedly documents a part of the top-secret project called "Project ISIS."

 

The video of the secret mission was made available thanks to a russian intermediary who claims to have obtained it from the secret archives of the KGB. In the video which is in Black and White, you can observe Soviet personnel recovering what appears to be a mummy of the Alien "Astronaut" from a sarcophagus which was located in a tomb in the Giza plateau.

 

Sceptics are not sure what to make from the video, since it is impossible to confirm its authenticity, and if in fact the mummified remains belong to an alien astronaut. According to Sci-Fi Tv Channel, Forensic experts who analyzed the video confirmed its authenticity.

 

According to Sci-Fi, the video was purchased by them by Russian "mafia" sources and originated directly from the archives of the KGB. Testimonies from highly ranking KGB officials seem to corroborate the story stating that the sarcophagus which was recovered by Russian military personnel, did in fact contain the remains of an alien being.

 

Skeptics seem to strongly dismiss the suggestion that the body that Russian military personnel recovered belonged to an alien being, according to skeptics, Russian personnel only found a royal tomb of an Egyptian noble or King.

 

Sci-Fi on the other hand says that the video is authentic and that the footage displayed had never before been shown to the public before its agents managed to "buy" it from Russian sources.

 

In the video, we can see Russian soldiers entering the tomb without any protective gear, but after the sarcophagus of the "alien being" was opened, a cloud of "toxic" fumes rose which caused the soldiers to retreat and dress in protective suits and gas masks.

 

It is believed that Project ISIS was created in 1961, during the beginning of the Cold War arms race, when both sides actively sought a military-technological advantage over the other side. According to historians and ufologists, the Russians were worried following reports that the United States had obtained secret "alien technology" which was being studied re-engineered at Area 51.

According to Viktor Ivanovich, a Russian scientist who allegedly had access to highly classified documents from the KGB secret archives got his hands on documents which showed that the Russians did in fact launch project ISIS to secure "alien documents and technology which were stored at a secret tomb in the Giza plateau, in hopes to use it for military purposes.

 

“There is no doubt that a small group of Russian scientists with military experts have discovered a tomb in Egypt in 1961. But in the documents it has never been revealed exactly what was found inside the sarcophagus. Only through the sources of the highest ranks of the KGB know that we have found the remains of an alien creature died in Egypt 10,000 years before Christ.” - Viktor Ivanovich

 

According to reports from project ISIS, the mummified body that Russian military personnel found was about 2 meters high, and Carbon-14 tests indicated that the body of the "alien visitor" was around 13.000 years old, which would mean that this being predates the Egyptian Dynastic period.

The Turin Papyrus; a connection?

 

It might turn out that the Turin Papyrus has something to do with the discovery of this Ancient Alien Astronaut. The Turin Papyrus also known as the Canon of Turin is another important ancient text. Even though it isn't preserved completely it is an ancient text written in hieratic language. It is believed that the original list had over 300 names, detailing precisely the years, months and days of each reign of the kings that ruled over the lands of ancient Egypt. The papyrus is the most extensive list of kings available, compiled by the Egyptians, and is the basis for most chronology before the reign of Ramesses II.

 

The final two lines of the column, which seem to represent a resume of the entire document are extremely interesting and remind us to the Sumerian King list. They read:

‘… Venerables Shemsu-Hor, 13,420 years; Reigns before the Shemsu-Hor, 23,200 years; Total 36,620 years’.

 

The first Egyptian King, of the first dynasty was the God Osiris, who according to ancient Egyptian legends, came down from the skies in a flying ship. This flying ship is believed to be an ancient UFO according to Ancient Astronaut theorists who have a very interesting view on ancient history.

The expedition turned out to be very productive since the team managed to recover several "Alien artifacts." According to reports of a senior officer of the KGB, 15 boxes filled with artifacts were found, the remains of a mummified alien body inside a sarcophagus and numerous hieroglyphic inscriptions. According to experts who translated the inscriptions, the text speaks of the return of the "winged deities."

 

Those who participated in this secret mission stated: "during the inspection of the walls we have noticed a strange repulsive force coming out of the walls. We could not find any scientific explanation.”

A Dome on Mars: The Opportunity rover captures the most mysterious image of the red planet

This could be one of the most incredible images ever taken on the surface of the red planet. Look closely at the image and what’s the first thing you think of? Doesn’t that thing in the image look like a dome on Mars?

 

Plans to settle on the red planet are connected to artistic concepts of domes which according to scientists could prove to be one of the most reliable options for settling on the red planet. But… is it possible that there are already domes on the surface of Mars? If so… who created them?

 

According to an image captured by NASA’s Opportunity rover, there are domes on the red planet, which means that there is something or better said someone on Mars, or there was.

 

 

 No, it’s not a fake image if that’s what you think. The image, taken by the rover’s panoramic camera can be viewed on the website of NASA (Sol 4073). In the mysterious image you can clearly see a semi-sphere protruding the upper part of the hill. Ufologists say that there isn’t a chance that we are looking at a natural formation here, and we agree. It doesn’t look natural at all. Better yet, if we zoom into the   can see small dark circles evenly distributed at the base of the structure. Is this some sort of dome on Mars or is pareidolia playing tricks on our mind again?

 

The mysterious dome does not seem to be a natural formation since, according to Ufologists and ufo hunters, the surrounding rocks are very different from the mysterious dome. But… what if the Martian ‘dome’ is in fact the tip of the top of another hill located in the background? But if so… what kind of natural phenomenon would create such a ‘perfect’ shape?

 

The dome-like object seems to be inconsistent with the surrounding terrain and incredibly stands out in the image taken by the Opportunity rover.

 

 

Is it possible that we are looking at some sort of building left behind by ancient inhabitants on Mars? What if we are looking at the ultimate evidence that proves the red planet was in fact inhabited in the distant past by beings that developed across the red planet just as humans developed across Earth? After all, we know that Mars had, in the distant, a vast oceans, rivers, lakes and atmosphere and could have sustained life as we know it.

 

At this point, it is very difficult to say what the Opportunity rover photographed. While it could be some sort of natural rock formation, that would need to be extremely strange, we cannot dismiss the fact that we could be looking at the remains of an alien structure on Mars.

 

There is however a third option.

 

According to a former Marine, not only have humans made it to Mars in the past, but we have developed a secret space program and flotilla that operates in space. It seems that there are two versions that are being filtered to society when it comes to Space, Mars, and classified files relating the two. The first is that we have not been to Mars, there is a lot of work to be done and our technology is still very limited. The other one is the exact opposite, a version that several individuals have backed up over the last decade. The question here is, who is telling the truth? And would it be ludicrous to think we have made it to Mars and colonized the red planet thanks to secret space programs?

 

 

According to Captain Kaye, who is a former US Marine, he was posted on the red planet for years and his mission was to protect the five human colonies from indigenous life forms on Mars. According to Captain Kaye, not only did he spend years on Mars, but he also served aboard a giant space carrier for three years.

 

So… what are we looking at here? Is this an actual dome on the surface of Mars… created by Beings that inhabited the planet in the past? Or is this the product of secret human colonies on the red planet?

L’inventeur du Li-Fi est Harald Haas de l’Université d’Edimbourg (Ecosse). En 2011, il a démontré pour la première fois que : par le scintillement la lumière d’une seule LED, il pourrait transmettre des données beaucoup plus rapidement qu’avec aucun autre technologie sans fils.

La technologie utilise la lumière visible entre 400 et 800 térahertz (THz). Cela fonctionne en quelque sorte avec une forme très avancée du fameux et ancestrale Code Morse. De la même façon qu’il est possible d’utiliser une lampe torche que l’on allume et éteint pour transmettre un message secret ; on excite ici une LED à des vitesses extrêmes pour envoyer des messages en code binaire. 

Le confort visuel n’est pas impacté

Faut-il s’inquiéter de voir à l’avenir un scintillement de l’éclairage au travail ou ailleurs, qui pourait en rendre fou plus d’un ? Non pas d’inquiétude de ce côté la semble-t-il puisqu’il s’agit de LED qui peuvent être activés et désactivés à des vitesses imperceptibles à l’oeil nu.

Pour comparaison, là ou un écran d’ordinateur utilise des fréquences d’affichage de l’ordre du 50 hertz, produisant ce scintillement caractéristique gênant ; le Li-Fi utilise des fréquences de fonctionnement des milliards de fois plus rapide, ce qui est totalement imperceptible à l’oeil nu.

1. La sécurité : la lumière ne passant pas à travers les murs jusqu’à preuve du contraire, le Li-Fi rend donc la transmission de données beaucoup plus sûr.

Unfortunately not much more is said in the article about this incredible video, such as where it was taken, what date or time, but what is undeniable, if real, is that it is extraordinary footage.

 

If anyone has any more information on this sighting please comment below. Without more information, it sadly will not be taken as seriously as it should be, granted it is authentic.

Another interesting sighting which is very detailed in terms of important specifics, is from a California witness at Rancho Cordova, of a low flying, triangle shaped UFO that moved towards his car and passed just about 50 feet above at 5:43 p.m. on December 13, 2015. His testimony filed with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), case number 73133.

8 Amazing Stories From People Who Have Met Aliens

Close encounters of the absurd kind.

You don’t have to scour the internet all that hard to unearth a great fountain of alien abduction stories.

Unfortunately, in an age in which everyone has photoshop, the reliability of photographic evidence goes to zero and “I know what I saw” isn’t a scientifically valid stance. Many “encounters”, under closer inspection, turn out the be something else. That’s not to say the person telling the story is a liar, but all sorts of things, from drugs to psychological trauma, can cause people to have mind-bending experiences. Often, the most mundane solution is unfortunately the most likely.

However, in a universe the size of ours, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility, maybe they are travelling thousands of light years to stick probes in us after all.

If you do ever find yourself aboard a spaceship, however, try to nick something off a shelf as a souvenir. Anything aboard an alien lightship would completely turn the scientific community on its head.

Here we have a few stories from people who claim to have had “encounters”. These are just a few archetypal tales, but there is a positive smorgasboard of stories and testimonies on sites such as Reddit (although we can’t exactly vouch of their reliability) if that’s what you’re into.

8. Give Us A Wave

Reddit user scrappster, describes an encounter in the middle of the night with a cheery alien who just seems to have wanted to let us know it was there.

This is how scrappster describes the experience:

I was sleeping in my room, which I like to keep as dark as possible. I suddenly woke up to the sound of a loud pop, like a small fire cracker, and I look out into the dark and think ‘Oh sh*t, was that the electrical outlet for my computer frying?’. I look towards it but see nothing. I figure it was nothing, so I rolled onto my back to go back to sleep.

I was very calm but pretty awake because of the little fire scare. I took a deep breath to try hush away the small bit of adrenaline, and just as I was about to close my eyes, I saw a dark shadow above me. It seemed to be waving […] and I kinda felt like ‘it’ was just trying to get my attention. It straightened away from me, and then it leaned and pressed down on the edge of my bed, closer to my head. It did it two or three times, and I could very clearly feel the weight […] and I got the feeling that he wanted to ‘show’ me that ‘Yes, I’m really here’.

This is how he describes the alien’s appearance.

“It was ‘outlined’ in light of many colors, but it was also very faint. Greens, yellows, blues, reds, purples, all swirled together simultaneously, mixed all together yet very separate, somehow. The brightness, I could relate to a glow-in-the-dark star sticker. Bright enough to see very clearly, but not so bright as to make me squint.

He looked a bit like a reptile, sorta akin to a raptor, but with a larger, rounder skull. A strong brow ridge, and there were circle-type bunches all over his body, which I assumed were scales. His face was turned so that I saw a clear profile. It looked like he was wearing a loose, simple shirt of some kind, and he held something like a clipboard in one arm, and the other was held up to it, as if he were writing on it. But what I was looking at directly, and what I remember most of all, was his eye. That large, unforgettable eye. Circular pupil that was opened somewhat wide. Lightly colored ‘iris’, almost cartoony in how simple it looked compared to the rest of him. It…I guess it felt so warm and personable, but it looked a little sad, and maybe a bit stern.”

Some kind of alien research scientist perhaps?

7. Coping Strategy

Often, alien encounters can be linked to some kind of traumatic event in a person’s life. It could be that the trauma is too much for the mind to process, so it invents something to fill in the gaps.

A Reddit user that has since deleted their account recalls their mother’s story:

When my mom and Lisa were teenagers, they were up on the roof of Lisa’s house, and they see a bright light in the sky. Next thing they know, the light is gone. Thing is, they think they’ve been on the roof for like 15 minutes, but something like 3 hours passed.

So a couple months later, mom moves away and loses contact with Lisa for about 10 years. She finally meets up with her again and immediately notices that something is odd about Lisa.

Lisa appeared very “distant” to her, with a very “dreamy” demeanor. Like she was really happy and at peace, for no good reason. After they talk for a bit, Lisa brings up the incident on the roof.

OP’s mum doesn’t remember the incident, but this is how “Lisa” recalls it:

At first, they paralyzed her somehow and did all sorts of invasive experiments on her, but by the most recent time, they stopped probing her and began to talk with her. […] Apparently they told her all sorts of things – stuff about space, Earth itself, and most shockingly, predicted years beforehand that she would get pregnant in a specific year and it would also be a stillborn, and that she would never be able to have children again. They also told her that it was not their fault and they even made an attempt to save her from this fate, but they were unsuccessful.

A psychologist might conclude that “Lisa’s” experience with the aliens is her brain’s way of rationalizing an incredibly traumatic experience,perhaps even prescribing meaning to it, and helping her deal with it.

6. Choke Slam

Some stories can sound so utterly terrifying and bizarre that they defy explanation, but there are some clues in the following story from user Lchmst that seem to indicate what happened:

I find myself waking up to the oddest buzzing sound. It was distinct and had a sort of percussive rhythm to it. Kind of like when your ears pop but repetitive so it was very uncomfortable. As I start to wipe the sleep from my eyes I realize I’m sitting up and all the lights are on in the surrounding rooms and the TV has turned to white noise.

I look around the room and start to get a very uneasy feeling that I’m being watched. I shrug it off and start to get up to go take a leak and turn the lights off. As soon as I stand up I feel a cold hand wrap around my throat, it then picks me up and slams me back down on the couch. I start to freak because I don’t see anything there and whatever it is must be massive because the hand wrapped around my entire neck, I can feel it’s digits meeting at the back of my neck. So I go to stand up again and once again it wraps it’s hand around my throat and pins me down on the couch, holding me there for a few seconds. I start to think, should I fight back or scream or what should I do? Almost as quickly as the thoughts enter my head, I hear a voice saying don’t touch it, it will leave if you don’t touch it. So I put my hands up, relax myself and the hand let go.

As freaky as this sounds, most of the scariest elements actually add up to some common sleep phenomena, specifically sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming.

The buzzing noise and sensation of being grabbed or held are particularly indicative. Buzzing, sometimes known as Exploding Head Syndrome (which is no less disturbing), is a common observation of lucid dreamers, and the sensation of being held down is a symptom of sleep paralysis, during which the mind wakes but the body doesn’t, so it rationalizes its inability to move by imagining restraint.

5. Men In Black

There are a slightly alarming number of reports of “Men in Black”.

Stories vary, with the men sometimes appearing to be some kind of government official (albeit, not a very subtle one) or an actual alien (similarly unsubtle, but they have the excuse of not being from Earth).

This is one story from Reddit user MY_SH*T_IS_PERFECT:

So my dad was in his teens. He’s out in his driveway for whatever reason, doing whatever people do when they live in a woodsy rural area.

Suddenly, this big, black car pulls into his driveway. Tinted windows, completely black. My Dad just kind of watches it pull in, not sure what to think.

[…] The door opens and out steps a super tall, fair-faced white man. He has blonde hair, an extremely well-tailored black suit, and black sunglasses on. Right away, my Dad could see there was something off about him. He looks too perfect. Flawless skin, a child-like smile, and very overdressed for a hot summer day. He looks distinctly out of place.

The man walks up to my Dad and asks for his name. My Dad (around 15 at the time) asks him why he wants to know. The man smiles and explains that he just wants to ask him a few questions and he means no harm. Bemused, my Dad agrees, but he’s still wary of this strange man.

First, the tall white dude asks my Dad if he lives here […]The man has a completely relaxed, non-confrontational tone, and seems almost giddy – like he was really excited to be having this conversation. His childish, overzealous grin hadn’t faded in the least. He asks my Dad if he had seen, felt, or heard anything that he felt was outside of the ordinary. My Dad said sometimes, and again asked why he wanted to know.

The man just kept grinning, and by now my Dad was feeling pretty comfortable. He had never seen this guy before in his life. He didn’t appear to be any kind of government agent – his behavior was far too unusual.

Suddenly, the man’s demeanor completely changes. His grin disappears and he looks worried. Without so much as a goodbye, he opens his car door, gets inside and drives away – still making no noise at all.

Even weirder, OP’s mother apparently saw the same guy 30 years later.

Men in black stories pop up all over the place, but it’s difficult to believe that any kind of government agent would really be so unsubtle.

4. 1997: A Good Year For Aliens

One Reddit thread got a fair bit of attention, as it would seem that there was a bit of a spate of UFO sightings around 1997.

NegativecapS recalls:

1997 Colorado Springs, CO. I was 8 years old, playing in the sand volleyball court […] but decided suddenly that I needed to look up because the world around me had lost all sound.

There was no longer any ambient noise. No traffic noise from the busy streets just a block over. No more dogs barking. No more birds chirping.

I looked at the street that bordered the park, and that is when I saw it.

It looked like a stealth bomber turned sideways (nose leading, one wing down toward the road and the other pointed up at the sky). Completely shiny-black in color, as tall as a house, shaped like an arrowhead. It was cruising the street at 3 MPH. Just gliding over the road….I watched it for maybe 20 seconds. As soon as it had passed behind some 2 story houses and out of my sight – I got my hearing back full force.

EDIT – Here is a quick sketch I made, in all of my talented glory.

So far, so normal for a UFO story, but then the post got a load of comments saying they saw similar things in the same year, in roughly the same place. Now, it could be that 1997 was the beginning of something, perhaps those were the scouts and we should be expecting a full-scale invasion any time now.

Or, the demographic of people who had vivid imaginations in 1997 are now old enough to be posting on Reddit about the stealth bomber they saw.

3. An Altered State Of Mind

As well as psychological trauma, another theme that runs through a lot of accounts of alien abductions is the presence of, er, mind-altering substances.

A user called thelid posted a story about one such mindbending occasion after smoking some doobies with his mates:

We rolled the windows down and just as we did a bright floodlight lit up […] we quickly talked it over and decided our best option would be for me and Greg to out of the truck and run separate directions while Andrew drove away.

On the count of three me and Greg jumped out and ran in opposite directions. But as soon as I stepped foot on the ground, the light turned off and it became pitch black. But I didn’t stop running, […] I walked for about 30 minutes until I began to hear a loud sound. […] The sound became unbearably loud and I put my hands over my ears but it only got louder. A sharp ringing notice rang put and I began to get tunnel vision. I couldn’t stand up anymore and I passed out.

When I woke up I was in a pitch black room. A soft and kind sounding voice spoke. “That’s very good.” the voice said, “sit down, stand up, stay in line, no more rules.” […] His kind and soft voice turned loud and angry “YOU CAN’T UNDERSTAND. YOU JUST CAN’T!”

I couldn’t move from the table I was laying on, but I wasn’t strapped down by anything. I turned my head to the right and saw a white glowing circle. When I looked to the left I saw a face. No body, no head, only a face. He spoke one final time. This time, I’m sure that it was directly to me. “I am the creator, you are the creation. Don’t be afraid, be aware.”

He spoke all of this without moving his mouth. The lights came back on and I passed out again. I tried my best to stay awake but I couldn’t. When I woke up I was laying in an open field. The sun was just coming up.”

Did our friend here see the face of God, get abducted by aliens, or were they on the receiving end of an unexpectedly big hit of THC?

2. Pervy Aliens

Aliens have got a bit of a reputation for anal probes. We’ve always assumed they were doing experiments, but what if they’re just a bit kinky?

Reddit user chilean_dude recounts his encounter with a pervy alien:

[T]here are some mud pools in this place called “Baños Morales”. I went there with my ex, we were taking a bath at 3am because it was some sort of a wild experience and we were alone. I can confirm this because I closed the gate that could let anyone enter to the pools.

So here we are, naked, bathing, playing with each other in the middle of the night when we see this guy staring at us. He would be 30ish, quite white and quiet. We honestly, freaked out. I, as the man of the situation, in order to calm my ex, pretended to be calm but in my inner state, I was scared.

I said, “Qué wea!?”, something like, “What’s up?!”, staring back at him. He just smiled and waved a hello with his arm. I thought immediately that we were jumping to conclusions, he couldn’t be an alien, but he, in front of our eyes, said “Todo bien, ya he visto lo que quería ver”; Something like, “It’s all right, I have seen all I wanted to see”. And started to disappear, fading, like an image.

Cajón del Maipo is well known for its UFO sights, but we were astonished.

Perverted alien astral projection from another dimension, or some creepy dude who became obscured by a steamy hot spring? You decide.

1. Implants

So user UnknownQTY tells us about the time they removed a mysterious “implant” from under their skin.

I’ve seen a couple of weird lights occasionally, and I have no recollection of being abducted, BUT…

When I was 12 or so, I felt something hard and round in my earlobe. I told everyone and they said it was just an under-the-skin zit, pretty normal for someone my age. But it was there for SIX MONTHS.

Annoyed, I decided to do some self surgery. I could feel it very near the surface and poked a hole in my ear with a sterilized needle. Blood, f**king everywhere, I could feel this thing and I squeezed up, towards the hole I just pierced. Out pops this tiny metal… ball. Maybe half the size of a BB. It was black metal, completely spherical, with an indentation around the center, and teeny tiny golf ball-like indentations.

As I was rolling it around in my blood-covered pictures, it slipped, spun around the sink a couple of times and fell down the drain. At 12, I had no idea what the f**k to do with it and my parents didn’t believe a word I said and told me to just put some tea tree oil on my zits next time… I have never had anything like it since.

Could this be some kind of tracking device put there by aliens? The body surely doesn’t spontaneously produce metal lumps.

Except sometimes it does. Another user commented with a similar experience, but they also had pictures of the object. That turned out to be a build up of skin, dirt and hair that sort of petrifies and looks for all the world like a metal pellet. Alternatively, it could have been something like an earring that got assimilated into the skin and forgotten. Because OP didn’t save their original specimen, we obviously can’t be sure.

Alien-hunting telescopes have peered at the mysterious star KIC8462852 and are quickly unraveling the theory that this star could harbor an alien megastructure.

The search is just the beginning of a much grander experiment for Doug Vakoch and his team at the new organization called SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) International, not to be confused with the SETI Institute.

For background: earlier this year, Yale postdoctoral graduate student Tabby Boyajian and Penn State astronomer Jason Wright discovered a bizarre and perplexing giant structure orbiting star KIC8462852, which is 1500 light years from Earth. It's unlike anything they've ever seen.

Wright suggested that the giant structure could be what's called a Dyson swarm (shown above). A Dyson swarm is a still-in-progress version of a hypothetical machine known as a Dyson sphere, which an intelligent civilization would construct around their host star to collect tremendous amounts of solar energy.

How to look and listen for aliens

The implication that an advanced alien race could be building such a structure got Vakoch and the scientists at SETI International very excited.

For six nights between Oct. 29 and Nov. 28, they pointed a small Panamanian telescope at their Boquete Optical SETI Observatory toward the star.

They were hunting the distant stellar system for laser pulses that any potential aliens might be sending Earth's way.

And for three out of those same six nights, they also turned the California-based Allan Telescope Array (shown on the right) toward the same star to listen for any radio signals (just in case the potential aliens didn't have lasers).

As far as they could tell, anyone living around KIC8462852 is staying quiet since they didn't detect any artificial signals coming from the system.

Either that, or there are no aliens at all.

The latter is far more likely. The large, irregular objects orbiting this star are probably comets that were transported from another star, they say.

The team recently published their results on the pre-print server site ArXiv.org and have submitted it for publication in the ahe Astrophysical Journal Letters.

A new system for hunting aliens

"I think a lot of people would say that, 'Oh, you didn't find anything and therefore you've failed,'" Vakoch, who is the President of SETI International, told Business Insider. "But it was actually a quite different process of searching for signals from KIC8462852 than the usual sort of searches that we do."

By coordinating observations from both the telescope in Panama with the Allan Telescope Array, Vakoch and the team have begun to establish what they hope will be a brand new system for hunting aliens.

"If a signal is detected that happens to be somewhat transient, we need observatories around the world to look at this and have the capabilities to observe," Vakoch said.

Moving forward, Vakoch hopes to apply this new approach toward other stars with planets. Perhaps one or more of those systems will be sending a signal toward Earth.

Stop listening and start talking

"The key, if we really do detect a signal, is to able to look at the same star at the same time with different observatories," Vakoch said.

So far, SETI International has not set priorities on which stars they'll study, but Vakoch personally hopes to begin studying those that are closest to Earth.

And if SETI discovers a signal in the coming years, then Vakoch has plans for how to make contact.

"We need to look even more closely at the nearest stars, and that's in preparation for getting ready to send signals to other stars. That's one of the major goals of the new organization ... which is to look at innovative strategies to make contact that don't rely on just listening for signals but also sending intentional signals of our own," Vakoch said.
