This happened over Quito, Ecuador’s capital, sits high in the Andean foothills at an altitude of 2,850m in early May 2021.
Clouds are rare on Mars and usually only pop up at the coldest time of the year near the planet’s equator. One Martian year ago though, NASA noticed some clouds forming in the sky above its veteran Curiosity rover and became determined to document them the following year. In recent months, Curiosity got to work, taking some amazing photos that show us what cloudy days are like on the Red Planet and broadening our understanding of just how clouds form far, far away.
NASA refers to these unexpected clouds simply as “early” clouds at the moment. In an announcement, NASA said that the Curiosity team has already made one new discovery about the early clouds from the rover’s photos: They’re at a higher altitude than usual. Those of us who aren’t cloud experts—guilty, though in my defense I think clouds are very cool—might not find that too significant at first glance, but it’s actually an important distinction that lets us know what the clouds are made of.
As explained by NASA, most clouds on Mars are usually at an altitude of 37 miles (60 kilometers) in the sky and are composed of water ice. These so-called early clouds, however, are at a higher and colder altitude, which means that they are likely made of frozen carbon dioxide, or dry ice. NASA did not specify at what altitude the early clouds were in Curiosity’s photos.
“Scientists look for subtle clues to establish a cloud’s altitude, and it will take more analysis to say for sure which of Curiosity’s recent images show water-ice clouds and which show dry-ice ones,” the agency said in a news announcement.
Besides gaining new information on the so-called early clouds, NASA has also witnessed some truly beautiful clouds on Mars: noctilucent clouds and iridescent clouds.

In the photos above, taken by Curiosity’s black-and-white navigation cameras, we can see the fine, rippling structures in the clouds. Known as noctilucent clouds, which is Latin for “night shining,” or twilight clouds, these clouds “grow brighter as they fill with crystals, then darken after the Sun’s position in the sky drops below their altitude,” NASA said. Scientists use this information about the Sun’s position to calculate the altitude of noctilucent clouds.
You can really appreciate the stunning beauty of these clouds in the photosbelow, which makes it seem like there are waves in the Martian sky.

Curiosity didn’t just give us a look at noctilucent clouds, though.The rover, through photos taken by its MastCam,also showed us that clouds on Mars can shimmer with color.These are called iridescent clouds, or “mother of pearl” clouds, andare some of the most colorful things you’ll see on Mars.

“If you see a cloud with a shimmery pastel set of colors in it, that’s because the cloud particles are all nearly identical in size,” Mark Lemmon, an atmospheric scientist with the Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colorado, said in the NASA announcement. “That’s usually happening just after the clouds have formed and have all grown at the same rate.”
Curiosity’s cloud photos offer us a new perspective of Mars. At a time when our rovers and helicopters send us fascinating photos of the planet’s rocky surface, Curiosity shows us that the planet can be more colorful than we imagined. It’s also another reminder that NASA’s veteran rover, overshadowed right now by the agency’s shiny new Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter, may be old, but it’s still carrying out amazing science.

A former US Navy fighter pilot who witnessed the ‘Tic-Tac’ UFO said her fellow airmen kept quiet for fear of being labeled wacko
Lt. Commander Alex Dietrich was training with a strike group approximately 100 miles southwest of San Diego when she and another pilot spotted the mysterious object.
Along with his fellow former pilot, Commander Dave Fravor, who was also on the training mission, he has now been talking about the encounter.
Videos of the encounter, along with another in Florida, were first released by the Pentagon in 2020.
Dietrich told CBS ’60 Minutes’ that the fighter pilots had struggled with how much to reveal about the encounter as the descriptions sounded “crazy.”
“Over beers we said, ‘Hey, if I had seen this solo, I don’t know if I would have come back and said something,’ ‘Dietrich said during the interview. “Because it sounds so crazy when I say it.”
Favor and Dietrich were each flying an F / A-18F fighter jet when they said they saw an anomalous object flying in their vicinity.
“He wasn’t identified, and that’s why it was so unsettling for us because we didn’t expect it. We couldn’t classify it, ”Dietrich said.

And then I was confused when it disappeared, ”she said.
Dietrich told the Washington Post that people had contacted her over the years to find out more about what she had seen.
“I feel a duty and an obligation. I was on a taxpayer-funded plane, doing my job as a military officer, ”he said.
“Citizens have questions. It is not classified. If I can share or help give a reasonable answer, I will. I don’t want to be someone who says “no comment.” “
But Dietrich says he is still reluctant to associate himself with the Tic-Tac sighting saying, “I don’t want to be the faculty UFO fanatic.”

On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Sen. Marco Rubio gave his takes on a wide range of issues from why he voted against the Jan. 6th Commission, to John Cena’s apology video to why he thinks there should be more investigation into the reports of UFOs near military installations.
“They want to keep that whole story alive. The whole issue is it was a terrible day, a terrible day. What happened should never have happened, it should never happen again. And everyone responsible for all of it, if you went in there and you attacked police officers and you did this and that, you should go to jail. And they are, they’re being prosecuted right now as we speak. The Justice Department has hundreds and hundreds of open criminal investigations. And as part of these criminal investigations, they’re investigating everything and they’re going to find out everything, that’s all there, that’s all been looked at. The Democrats subjected this country to an impeachment trial of a president no longer in office, that it looked at all kinds of evidence and put that all together and put it out there on national television. The Capitol Police Commission has studied the security breakdowns that led to that day. Individual committees in the House and Senate are still looking at this and about things on that day. So this has been widely investigated.”

Area 51, Nevada and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base at Dayton, Ohio have one thing in common. Namely, and within UFO lore and legend, both facilities are said to be the “homes” to unclear numbers of extraterrestrial bodies. Either on ice or dissected. Numerous other places are said to be the secret storage areas for the alleged, legendary dead aliens. That said, let’s now take a look at some of those cases and locations. If tales of crashed UFOs are your thing, then you will probably have heard of the alleged UFO crash on the Berwyn Mountains, North Wales on the night of January 23, 1974. There are rumors of roads cordoned off by military units, of strange bodies secretly taken to a certain place known as Porton Down, and located in Wiltshire, England. The BBC say: “Porton Down was set up in 1916. It was a center designed to test chemical and biological weapons. Nerve gases such as Sarin and CS gas were tested on volunteer servicemen. Servicemen were offered around £2 and three days leave as an incentive to take part in tests. Very few servicemen knew what they were volunteering for and some were even told it was research into the cure for the common cold. In 1953 it is alleged that serviceman Ronald Maddison died after taking part in a Sarin gas experiment. In 1962, one of Porton Down’s own scientists, Geoffrey Bacon died of the plague. Since the end of WWII, 20,000 people have taken part in experiments at Porton Down.”
Moving on: In 1977, the late UFO researcher Leonard Stringfield revealed a similar story in his then-newly-published book, Situation Red: The UFO Siege. The story was give to Stringfield by another UFO researcher, Sherman Larsen. According to Larsen, he had a contact – a minister -who had a sinister tale to tell. Supposedly, the incident occurred in the late 1940s or early 1950s, when the source was a boy. Father and son, we are told, got lost in none other than the Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. Unable to find a way out, they headed down one particular corridor, entered a room, and were confronted by the shocking sight of a number of small, humanoid bodies contained in a large container with a glass top. MIB types suddenly descended on the pair – warning them never to talk about what they had just seen.
Leonard Stringfield was also told of several old pieces of film that seemingly showed alien corpses. One such story came to Stringfield by “T.E.” He was a young man who said that he saw just such a film in 1953 – when he was only twenty – at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Yes, yet another facility. According to what Stringfield knew, T.E. and some of his colleagues were taken to a room where they were told they were about to watch a piece of film. Stringfield wrote: “Without any briefing, the 16mm movie projector was flicked on and the film began to roll on the screen…the film showed a desert scene dominated by a silver disc-shaped object embedded in the sand…” Stringfield continued that there “was a change of scenes.” The story went on: “Now in view were two tables, probably taken inside a tent, on which, to his surprise, were dead bodies. T.E. said the bodies appeared little by human standards and most notable were the heads, all looking alike, and all being large compared to their body sizes…They looked Mongoloid.” The men were advised to “think about the movie.” It is no surprise at all that that is exactly what they did. A few days later, however, they were all told, “It was a hoax.”
Are there really the remains of dead aliens on ice at multiple facilities around the world? Certainly, enough such claims have been made. But, so far, that’s all we have: claims. And, right now, that’s not enough. Unless, of course, someone out there knows better.

How did our galaxy form? The short answer is “galaxy collisions”. That keeps astronomers busy as they develop new tools to “look back” at the birth of our own galaxy. We know that the infant Milky Way began taking shape relatively early in the history of the universe. It probably existed for quite some time as a tiny dwarf galaxy. Then, it began to merge with others to “plump up” and grow.
Today, the Milky Way continues to dance the galaxy formation tango with other dwarf galaxies, such as the Sagittarius Dwarf. And, we know that it will eventually do an interactive dance with the Andromeda Galaxy. That series of galaxy collisions and interactions will happen several billion years from now. For now, it seems, that our galaxy is still forming through mergers. And, astronomers have some interesting tools to probe the details of the stars that got brought into the Milky Way.

The First Big Galaxy Collision
A couple of weeks ago, Ohio State University researchers released new information about the earliest stages of the Milky Way’s birth and growth. It seems the young Milky Way experienced a major merger with an orbiting satellite galaxy called Gaia-Enceladus. That happened about 10 billion years ago and influenced the distribution of stars in the galaxy.
Fiorenzo Vincenzo, who works at OSU’s Center for Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, and a team of astronomers, wanted to know exactly what happened as a result of that merger. Specifically, what can the stars of our galaxy tell us about that ancient event?
They used several techniques to answer that, including asterochronology, asteroseismology, and a spectroscopic survey called APOGEE. Asterochronology studies the ages of stars to trace the basic “mergers and acquisitions” that helped form the Milky Way. Asteroseismology looks inside stars by studying their oscillations to get precise ages. The spectroscopic studies reveal the chemical compositions of stars. The combination of all three approaches gives amazingly good estimates for the ages and origins of stars in our galaxy.
“Our evidence suggests that when the merger occurred, the Milky Way had already formed a large population of its own stars,” said Vincenzo.
By calculating the ages of stars throughout our galaxy, the researchers determined something interesting. The stars captured from Gaia-Enceladus have similar or slightly younger ages than the majority of stars that already existed there.
During the merger, many of the infant Milky Way’s batch of “homemade” stars ended up in the “thick disk” that occupies the middle of the galaxy. The stars that were captured from Gaia-Enceladus during the merger exist mostly in the outer halo of our galaxy.
What Galaxy Collisions Change
Today, we know that most galaxies grow through mergers and acquisitions. So, it seems like a fairly normal occurrence in the universe. The merger of the baby Milky Way with Gaia-Enceladus was one of the most important in the Milky Way’s history. It shaped the galaxy we see today. It “shook things up”, by changing the orbits of stars already in the Milky Way.
Many stars were pushed into eccentric orbits. The stars from the long-disappeared Gaia-Enceladus, move in different ways than the “native” stars. Upon closer examination, stars that came from Gaia-Enceladus have different chemical compositions from those born inside the Milky Way.
Next Steps
Now that researchers peeked at the past collision and figured out what happened to the stars, what next? Their next step is to take the same approach and apply it to larger groups of Milky Way stars. The evolution of the Milky Way is, after all, an ongoing process. The end goal is to get a much clearer idea of that evolution and the changes mergers make to its stellar populations.

A long-awaited report by Congress’ Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force is set to be released next month — the culmination of years of inquiries by lawmakers and decades of reports of unexplained sightings made by military pilots.
In a Washington Post opinion piece, planetary scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Ravi Kopparapu argues that rather than starting with the “what” question about UFOs, it would be more effective to start by “asking how we can figure out what they are.”
“This is where scientists, notably absent from the current UAP conversation, come in,” Kopparapu argues. For too long, he says, the topic of UFOs been disregarded as baseless conspiracy, driven by a “vacuum of knowledge that is being filled by unscientific claims thanks to a lack of scientific investigation.”
The news comes after several military pilots have discussed strange objects that appeared to defy the laws of physics, traveling without visible means of propulsion at many times the speed of sound.
“It’s a technology that outstrips our arsenal by at least 100 to 1,000 years at the moment,” retired US Navy Chief Master-at-Arms Sean Cahill told CNN in a televised interview earlier this month.
That means, if they are indeed adversaries within US borders, that would be bad news.
“We had a massive intelligence failure, and we have an unknown threat that we need to figure out,” Christopher Mellon, former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence, told CNN during the same interview.
But rather than arming ourselves against a largely invisible threat, according to Kopparapu, we should first figure out how to get a better understanding of what the pilots saw.
He says that we should be treating the UAP reports with the same seriousness as exploring the surface of Mars for signs of life.
“The research has been complex, evidence-based and demanding, pulling in scientists from across disciplines and all around the globe,” he writes in his opinion piece. “The same should be true for the exploration of UAP sightings.”
To Kopparapu, we simply need more data, from visual, infrared, radar, and other observations with the help of scientists from across the various disciplines. Such a scientific approach could eventually “go a long way toward lifting the taboo in mainstream science.”
“Ultimately, understanding UAP is a science problem,” he concludes. “We should treat it that way.”

Respected nuclear physicist and UFOlogist Stanton Friedman maintains that the United States government hides the truth about UFO incidents from the public.
Stanton Friedman has investigated UFOs for over fifty years, searching for scientific proof of their existence. He’s a retired nuclear physicist who has worked on highly classified projects involving fusion and fission rockets and nuclear aircraft for state-of-the-art companies including General Electric, Westinghouse, McDonnell Douglas, General Motors and Aerojet General Nucleonics.
In 1958, he became interested in UFOs and began doing research.
Since 1967, Friedman has been giving lectures — he has lectured at over seven hundred colleges and professional organizations in all 50 states and abroad — about extraterrestrial spacecraft. He calls the cover ups a “cosmic Watergate.”

Three decades after the Roswell incident, Friedman met with key military personnel who were involved in the investigation. He was told about witnesses who saw the object crash and he learned that pieces of an unknown metal and bodies were recovered. He is now convinced there was a Roswell cover up.
Physicist Blasts SETI Institute’s Handling of UFO Incidents
Friedman is angered by the attitude of scientists who use radio and optical telescopes to search for extraterrestrial existence, including people at the SETI Institute in California.
SETI is an acronym for Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence. The private nonprofit organization’s members claim their purpose is to scientifically discover the beginning, character and frequency of life in the universe.
Friedman is disturbed by the fact that they don’t reference any evidence to support the existence of UFOs.
UFO Incidents were Covered Up According to Physicist
Friedman is convinced that the government has known about UFOs since 1947. He believes that some are spacecrafts piloted by intelligent extraterrestrials and there has been an extensive government cover up, although a few select officials are privy to top secret UFO information.
Friedman cites two similar cases and the debunkers’ explanation. In 1958, the crew and scientists aboard the Brazilian ship Almirante Saldanha saw and photographed a Saturn-shaped object that approached land and made a steep turn before rapidly flying away.
At the time, Brazil’s President Juscelino Kubitschek confirmed the authenticity of the photographs. A 747 over Alaska encountered an object twice the size of an aircraft carrier that circled the jet.
Both the UFO and the 747 were picked up by radar. The debunkers claimed the radar detected the planet Jupiter!
Physicist’s Thoughts about the Government’s Cover Up
Other scientists have suggested earth has been visited by extraterrestrials. Friedman is the most vociferous. Why would the government cover up UFO incidents when there is evidence, primarily witnesses and photographs, that they exist?
During Project Blue Book’s era, the time of the Cold War, the reason for cover ups was national security. This entity was the branch of the USAF that investigated UFOs.
Government officials thought that knowledge of UFOs’ existence and extraterrestrials would cause people to panic like they did during Orson Wells’ 1938 broadcast of War of the Worlds about a fictional Martian attack.
People thought the invasion was real because there were simulated news bulletins. Friedman believes this has changed and that, from a national security perspective, some people would want to capture a UFO, find out how it works and use it against the enemy. How does one acquire a UFO? His answer was to wait until one crashes.
Government Still Covers Up UFO Incidents
In 1965, a UFO crashed in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania that was dubbed the Roswell of the East because of the similarities. There have been sightings, photographs and, later, videos of unknown objects flying through the sky since 1947.
There were a multitude of surveys and polls that have shown many people are interested in and some are concerned about UFOs during the past fifty years.
A recent poll indicated that that nearly three-quarters of Americans thought the government isn’t revealing all it knows about UFOs and over two-thirds of the respondents thought the government knows more about extraterrestrial life than it releases.
In recent years, hundreds of planets circling other suns have been discovered. It’s believed planets that can sustain intelligent life similar to earth is ten to the tenth power. In 2008, the Pope’s chief astronomer, the Reverend Gabriel Funes, stated that intelligent beings created by God could exist in the universe.
All of this makes Friedman optimistic that there will be some proof, albeit partial, that earth isn’t the only planet having intelligent life in the universe, during his lifetime.

‘Fire in the Sky’ was originally released in theaters 27 years ago in 1993 as a homage to the real abduction story of Travis Walton.
His story is rather famous as he speaks of having been kidnapped for five whole days and kept inside of the alien ship where the aliens did experiments on him. His coworkers all saw the abduction happen and reported on it right as it happened.
The movie in itself is amazing, as the practical effects here are amongst the greatest that we’ve ever seen to be fair.
But, sadly enough the movie couldn’t compete with some of the greatest movies of all time, Jurassic Park and the Nightmare Before Christmas, as it barely made its money back at the time.
The movie in itself is based around the book that Walton released soon after his abduction was made public titled The Walton Experience.
Although the main character is still Walton the movie in itself revolves around his coworkers that saw it all happen and now have to deal with being scrutinized for even reporting the existence of an alien, to begin with.
The most popular scene however is by far the scariest one of all time too as you can see the whole process of Travis being captured, put on a table, and being experimented on.

If one follows the waters of Loch Ness as they flow into River Ness, they next move into Beauly Firth (an inlet), then Moray Firth before entering the North Sea. Along the way, they pass the ancient fishing town and current seaside resort of Nairn. While it doesn’t have a loch monster, Nairn has a monstrosity of its own that has been plaguing residents for decades without an explanation or resolution – a mysterious hum similar to those plaguing people in other towns around the world. The Nairn Hum is back in the news again – will this time be any different or are Nairners doomed to continue to suffer from a monster that doesn’t help tourism or their nerves at all?
“It’s an absolute nightmare. We are getting tortured in our own house. It’s a low frequency pulsing noise and it’s incessant. My husband thinks it could come from an electricity substation and it’s also been suggested it could be coming from as far away as Invergordon. We just don’t know. One of our neighbours a couple of fields away hears a droning pulsating noise all the time too. We can’t even go into our caravan at the bottom of the garden because of the noise.”
Blan Bremner and her husband Robert told The Inverness Courier this past week about the “incessant” droning Nairn hum which tortures and puzzles them and their neighbors. Robert claims it has given the couple headaches and “I have nose bleeds,” yet the hum has not gone away nor been explained since they first reported it, according to an archived article in the Scottish Daily Mail in 2018.
“We started hearing the noise on February 9 when we moved into our home. Then when our new chimney was put up it seemed to act like an amplifier for the noise. It’s everywhere around Ardersier and Nairn.”
For decades, some residents of Largs on the Firth of Clyde have reported being plagued by a low, unexplained droning sound which has been dubbed the "Largs Hum".

That article reports that environmental health officials were called and they were unable to link the noise to any physical cause like the local airport, electricity substations, ferries or wind farms. A Highland Council spokesperson said they’ve received only one report and an inspector heard nothing. However, the hum report sounds similar to many in Largs, North Ayrshire – another seaside town about 170 miles south – which date back to the 1980s and have never been explained to frustrated residents.
“As a member for these areas I have investigated fully, but frankly it remains a mystery. I can only surmise that it must be something to do with recent developments in the area. I have visited homes myself and these are very real complaints. I’ve heard it for myself. As a council we have carried out tests by our environmental health department but we can’t pin down where it’s coming from. I’ve done everything I can. We’ve had our staff at the council and SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Agency) investigating, but I just don’t know how some of these poor souls live with this. You can’t avoid the noise and it’s having a terrible impact on their wellbeing.”
That frustration is felt by Culloden and Ardersier councillor Glynis Campbell-Sinclair, who represents Nairn. She tells The Inverness Courier that factory expansions and new sewer works have been ruled out, and she’s obviously at a loss to comfort or help her constituents.
Where’s Saint Ninian – patron of Nairn?
If it’s not physical, is the Nairn hum something paranormal – perhaps linked to its close proximity to Loch Ness, where paranormal activities have been proposed to explain the mysterious appearances and disappearances of its famous monster?
Blan and Robert Bremner and their neighbors probably don’t care what it is – even if it’s a paranormal cause that could help local tourism – they just want the Nairn hum gone.

As a person was driving one night toward Yakima, WA they noticed three glowing lights in the sky approaching them. The lights were in a giant triangle formation and seem to be a single craft. The lights are too close to be planes and the lights do not match aircraft. The lights also don't match the orange hue from Chinese lanterns. UFOs have been seen over Yakima in the past, but this one compares to the famous Phoenix Lights incident. This UFO is so large, it would cover three football fields...being about 300 meters across! Any craft that size in the air is not man made, but alien made.

I was on my way home from work, then I noticed those 3 lights with a good view of the city. So I figured even if they're planes or helicopter it would be a great video. Then I notice them come towards me before they disappeared. My reaction was to look out the window. I Thought I saw the bottom of the craft. Once I felt like I saw the bottom of the craft it caused me to panic and throw my phone to the passenger seat. I felt like I was gonna get abducted lol. It was a crazy experience.

This footage was filmed in the CIC (Combat Information Center) of the USS Omaha on July 15th 2019 in a warning area off San Diego by Visual Intelligence Personnel (VIPER team).
This RADAR data release shows four clips; multiple unknown targets (and one civilian vessel). Some of the unknown targets drop off RADAR in this footage.
This happened numerous times throughout the UFO encounter series. At the height of the contacts - there were at least fourteen unknowns observed at one time. The event series reached a crescendo with one of the unknown targets entering the water at 11pm. No wreckage found. None of the unidentified craft were recovered.
