LAS VEGAS - When it comes to UFO stories, all roads lead to Las Vegas, right?
Recent revelations about a secret Pentagon study of UFOs raised many questions, including this one --do government scientists have a piece of a flying saucer? According to a New York Times story, scientists in southern Nevada had a chance to study a piece of mystery metal which had some unusual properties.
When Nevada Senator Harry Reid and a few colleagues quietly found the funding back in 2007 for a serious Pentagon study of unknown aerial intruders, otherwise known as UFOs, one goal was to move the subject beyond the long shadow of the so-called Roswell crash, the controversial tale about a mysterious object that crashed in New Mexico in 1947.
"If you're here to find out where the little men from New Mexico at the end of World War II, are stored in some vault some place, you want to spend time talking about flying saucers that took people some place, I'm not into that," former Sen. Harry Reid said.
When the New York Times broke the story in December, and an organization called To The Starsreleased Pentagon videos of encounters with unknown craft, a separate line of inquiry was also unleashed. Was there, as the Times reported, a piece of metal or material that could not be identified by scientists?
For three years, a private organization named BAASS (Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies), headquartered at Bigelow Aerospace in North Las Vegas, collected and analyzed UFO files and data on behalf of the defense intelligence agency, DIA.
Company founder Robert Bigelow built special secure facilities inside his plant to house the program, its files, and according to news reports, a piece of unknown material, reportedly a compound with special properties. Senator Reid, for one, said he is unaware of any such exotic materials.
"I don't know anything about exotic materials but (there's been) a lot of talk about it."
The subject isn't new in UFO circles. The properties of supposedly recovered mystery metals have been debated online for years. Rock star turned UFO investigator Tom DeLonge speculated last year about possible anti-gravity effects of one alloy. Nick Pope, a former official with the British Ministry of Defense study of UFOs said he believes such material does exist. But what about the point man for the Pentagon's UFO program?
"So, now we can theoretically warp space time in a way that we can go from A to B a little faster," said Luis Elizondo.
I-Team Reporter George Knapp: "Do we need special materials?"
Luis Elizondo: "Well, special materials are important no matter what you do. On a car, you might want titanium. Everything requires special materials."
Elizondo is the person most directly responsible for the public release of the now ubiquitous videos, the so called gimbal UFO and the Tic Tac encounter. He thinks these craft are able to bend space and time with a technology beyond anything known on earth. But, is the technology dependent on mystery metal, and did the U.S. have a piece of it at the Bigelow plant?
"Sadly, I can't discuss that. You would have to ask the U.S. government. But I've said before, when you are collecting special data, there are always tell-tale signs on how something works by its signature," Elizonda said.
Some who read the story speculated that the material contains an unknown element. Not true, say those who worked on the program, but multiple sources have confirmed to us that there was a weird piece of something at the Bigelow plant.
Physicist Dr. Hal Puthoff was one of the chief scientists for the BAASS study. He confirmed last month that he had a look at "unusual material" that was "very complex." Puthoff implied that it was engineered by unknown means, layered, he says, in ways that produced unusual characteristics. But that's as far as he would go.

Dr. Hal Puthoff said:
“Detailed proof that crashes had happened would be so highly classified piece of data. There has been one leaked document — how it got leaked, I’ll never know — which is out there, that talks about some crashes, that we were able to verify … it was a real document. My opinion is there are probably at least materials. Now, it wouldn’t necessarily have to be crash of an entire craft, but it could be a piece blown off, whatever, by a lightning strike or a missile or whatever. So I am not surprised to find out that there’s discussion of material being available. We’ve had an opportunity to look at some unusual material, and I think that is a big area that will become more significant as time goes on. And the interesting thing about it was that I couldn’t figure out a very complex material. When you talk to people that are doing this kind of research … [we know about] all the elements on the periodic table, so you are not finding some new element that you didn’t realize is on the periodic table. No, it’s more like putting together layers of various kinds of materials that you wouldn’t expect to be able to be layered, and the result at the end of the day is that it has certain unusual characteristics that you wouldn’t have predicted in advance, so that is the kind of thing that, to a physicist, is the most interesting.”
Elizondo gave one other tantalizing clue.
"You may call it material or meta-material but if something is left behind or recovered or retrieved, you'd want to study it just like at a crime scene," he said.
No one would say on the record how the piece of material was obtained, or where it was taken once the Las Vegas study ended back in 2012.

Sometimes on a dark night near the poles, the sky pulses a diffuse glow of green, purple and red. Unlike the long, shimmering veils of typical auroral displays, these pulsating auroras are much dimmer and less common. While scientists have long known auroras to be associated with solar activity, the precise mechanism of pulsating auroras was unknown. Now, new research, using data from NASA's Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms—or THEMIS—mission and Japan's Exploration of energization and Radiation in Geospace—shortened to ERG, or also known as Arase—satellite, has finally captured the missing link thought responsible for these auroras. The answer lies in chirping waves that rhythmically pulse the particles that create the auroras.
Earth's magnetic bubble—the magnetosphere—protects the planet from high-energy radiation coming from the Sun and interstellar space, but during particularly strong solar events, particles can slip through. Once inside, the particles and the energy they carry are stored on the nightside of the magnetosphere, until an event, known as a substorm, releases the energy. The electrons are then sent speeding down into Earth's upper atmosphere where they collide with the other particles and produce the characteristic glow.
Pulsating auroras, however, have a slightly different cause. The magnetosphere is home to a type of plasma wave known as whistler mode chorus. These waves have characteristic rising tones—reminiscent of the sounds of chirping birds—and are able to efficiently disturb the electrons. When these waves make their appearance within the magnetosphere, some of the electrons scattered by the wave careen down into Earth's atmosphere, causing the pulsating auroras.

While scientists have long believed this mechanism to be responsible for pulsating auroras, they had no definitive proof until now. The multipoint observations from the ERG satellite and ground-based all-sky cameras from the THEMIS mission allowed scientists to pinpoint the cause and effect, seeing the event from start to end. The results were published in the journal Nature.
Research done with NASA's ground-based camera and Japan's spacecraft in the near-Earth laboratory has applications further afield. Chorus waves have been observed around other planets in the solar system, including Jupiter and Saturn. Likely, the processes observed around Earth can help explain auroral features on these gas giants as well as on planets around other stars. The results also help scientists better understand how plasma waves can influence electrons—something that occurs in processes across the universe.
After just yesterday we wrote that Jupiter’s emblematic Giant Red Storm was quieting down, Neptune’s own giant storm is about to suffer the same fate.

Although not as famous and easily visible as the Great Red Spot, Neptune’s Great Dark Spot (creative names, I know) has its own remarkable history. Also an anticyclonic storm, the first Dark Spot was first observed in 1989 by NASA’s Voyager 2. It was big enough to cover the entire Atlantic, from the US to Europe’s West Coast, but unlike Jupiter’s storm, it had a much shorter lifespan. I say “the first” Dark Spot because, since its discovery in 1989, several others have appeared and disappeared, and the initial one is long gone. Hubble discovered two dark storms that appeared in the mid-1990s and then vanished. The current storm was first observed in 2015, but it’s already shrinking.
We don’t really know that much about Neptune. The farthest planet from the Sun (sorry Pluto) remains largely a mystery, with most of our information coming from remote observations or from the Voyager days. The way it was discovered says a lot about this: Neptune was the first and only planet in our Solar System found by mathematical predictionrather than by empirical observation. Astronomers believe that Neptune has a solid rock core, a mantle consisting of water, ammonia and methane ices, and an atmosphere. The top of the atmosphere is covered by top clouds, while the rest consists of hydrogen, helium, and methane The Dark Spot is interesting because it allows astronomers to indirectly deduce certain aspects about Neptune’s atmosphere.
The Great Dark Spot is thought to represent a hole in the methane cloud deck of Neptune, generating large white clouds made of frozen methane. The dark spot itself might also contain hydrogen sulfide, a substance commonly found in crude petroleum, natural gas, volcanic gases, and hot springs.
It seems a bit strange if you think about it — why would white clouds, including ice, create a dark spot? Well, it isn’t that they’re necessarily dark, just that they’re less bright than the rest of the atmosphere. Joshua Tollefson from the University of California at Berkeley explained.
“The particles themselves are still highly reflective; they are just slightly darker than the particles in the surrounding atmosphere.”

But other than this, we don’t really know much about the nature of these storms. We don’t know why or how they form, and no missions other than Voyager and Hubble are able to visualize them.
“We have no evidence of how these vortices are formed or how fast they rotate,” said Agustín Sánchez-Lavega from the University of the Basque Country in Spain. “It is most likely that they arise from an instability in the sheared eastward and westward winds.”
Unlike Jupiter’s storms, Neptune’s storms don’t last as long. Neptune doesn’t have atmospheric conveyor belts, which keep the storm trapped, and it doesn’t have the proper atmospheric conditions to fuel the storm. So quite soon, the Dark Spot will fade away — but another one will eventually rise up to take its place.
“It looks like we’re capturing the demise of this dark vortex, and it’s different from what well-known studies led us to expect,” said Michael H. Wong of the University of California at Berkeley, referring to work by Ray LeBeau (now at St. Louis University) and Tim Dowling’s team at the University of Louisville.
My recent 2-part article on the Roswell affair of July 1947 (part-1here and part-2 here) provided a couple of reasons why, in my opinion, nothing of an extraterrestrial nature came down on the Foster Ranch, Lincoln County, New Mexico. But, something definitely came down. And it wasn’t a weather-balloon or a Mogul balloon. And there wasn’t a crash-test-dummy in sight. Not a single one. My down-to-earth views on what reallyhappened at Roswell are well-known by those who follow the controversial saga of “The R-Word.” But, those same ufologists have little time for theories that blow the E.T. angle out of the water. Too bad that when it comes to Roswell the “I want to believe” factor is so dominating. But, if one day, the truth really does surface – to an undeniable degree – and it’s found that Roswell had nothing had to do with aliens, how will the UFO research community react? I’ll tell you.
What Really Happened at Roswell ? The Truth will shock you!
When Roswell topples (as it will, one day) there will be a fair degree of denial. Probably a huge degree of denial. No aliens at Roswell? Ridiculous! Nonsense! That will be followed by a sudden increase in the sales of comfort-blankets – and prescriptions for anything and everything that will lessen anxiety and lower blood-pressure. Should all of that happen, the small numbers of people like me won’t suffer. I will be knocking back the beer and the brandy – thus ensuring an entire week of head-spinning celebrations and an endlessly revolving-door of babe-tastic strippers. Those who will suffer are those who cannot accept that Ufology’s number-one case will become a rotting, stinking corpse. And, you know what we do with them: we bury them or burn them.
There is also the matter of how the extermination of Roswell will have a spiraling effect on various other aspects of Ufology. Let’s face it, whatever happened at Roswell, the majority of UFO researchers accept the alien angle. But, if Roswell – perceived as the best crash case on record – does collapse, what does that say about all of the other crash cases? Not at lot, that’s what! The December 1965 affair at Kecksburg, PA is seen as a good, solid UFO case by many. But, if Roswell goes belly-up, then it’s all but inevitable that people will soon develop doubts about the second-best case (or third, or fourth, depending on your personal perspective).
If aliens didn’t die on, or over, the Foster Ranch then the tale of Philip J. Corso – and his “back-engineering” schemes of alien technology – completely falls apart. That would then make people question the back-engineering-based claims of Bob Lazar, too. If there were no aliens at Roswell, then that means no extraterrestrial corpses were secretly taken to what is, today, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio. That will provoke questions about whether or not there were ever any such corpses at the base.
This gets us to the heart of the big problem with Roswell: it supports so many aspects of what pro-Roswell UFO researchers believe and want to hear. And when the case crumbles, all of those related aspects – the back-engineering, the Wright-Pat legends of “dead aliens on ice,” and the other crash-based cases – will plummet to the ground.
Few people ever give much thought at all to just how much of present-day Ufology is so deeply plugged-in to Roswell – directly or indirectly. If Roswell was seen as just another case – but, admittedly, a high-profile one, wherever it leads – then it could be explored and investigated without the issue of it holding up the whole damn subject. But, when you have one, single case which is loudly championed as the incident to beat all other incidents, you are on dangerous and rocky ground.
To a degree, though, and when it comes to Roswell, most people in Ufology will deny any and all kind of disclosure than the one they want to hear. No E.T.s at Roswell? It must be disinformation. No dead aliens at Wright-Pat? “They” secretly transferred the bodies to somewhere else. No back-engineering? It all got moved from Area 51 to the Dugway Proving Ground. Roswell completely and utterly dictates Ufology. Which is a terrible and unfortunate thing.

Dying sucks. It’s a sad fact of human existence. When you’re young, the inevitability and permanence of death are hard to conceptualize, but experiencing the deaths of loved ones sure makes it real in a heartbeat – or lack thereof. Despite our impotence in the face of what is surely an inescapable fate, humans have been trying to find ways to avoid death since time immemorial. Modern medicine and digital media have come a long way, but the fact remains that we’re all just going to rot in the ground someday – that is, unless one of these kooky scientists proclaiming the advent of human immortality turns out to be right. This week, yet another self-proclaimed “futurologist” has issued his prediction for the strange, immortal future humanity likely has in store. Will we really soon be able to cheat death with the help of technology?
The bigger question is why the future is always depicted in blue and orange.
These latest predictions were made by engineer and futurologist Ian Pearson who has been a Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society and a fellow of both the World Academy for Arts and Science and the World innovation Foundation. He claims his predictions have been shown to have “about 85% accuracy when looking 10-15 years ahead.” In an interview with The Sun, predicts humans will be able to cheat death by the year 2050. Well some humans, anyway. The rich ones. The really, really rich ones:
One day your body dies – maybe you get hit by a bus or a nasty disease – but it doesn’t matter, because your mind will still be there. You’ll be able to use an android body instead of the organic one you just lost. For normal people on everyday salaries, it’s more likely that you’ll have to wait a little longer. By 2060, people like you or I will be able to buy it, and by 2070 people in poor countries on modest incomes will be able to buy it.
In his prediction about human immortality, Pearson cites three emerging technological trends which have the potential to indefinitely extend the human lifespan, or at least the lifespan of human consciousnesses: rejuvenating body parts with anti-aging gene therapies or swapping out body parts for lab-grown replacements; digitizing the human consciousness and downloading it into biohybrid android sleeves à la Altered Carbon; or developing technologies which will allow our consciousnesses to exist forever in virtual realities. I don’t know about you, but that last one sounds the best to me.
We might one day look at swapping out body parts the same way we look at getting a haircut.
While these kinds of transhumanist predictions are great material for sci-fi and surely have led to some generous research grants, I can’t help but wonder if these are merely some kind of new techno-religious belief system emerging. These kinds of technological immortality sound a lot like concepts of the afterlife, reincarnation, or the soul tossed around by many world religions. Will we really ever be able to digitize the human consciousness? Do we really want to? Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.

UFO Spotted by Air Traffic Control Over Oregon, Recordings Reveal What Happened

On Oct. 25, 2017, a mysterious aircraft was spotted, in broad daylight, near a busy flight route over the state of Oregon. U.S. Air Force jet fighters were then launched to investigate. But found nothing.
Originally reported by The War Zone blog from auto news site The Drive, the unidentified aircraft was initially picked up on radar at around 4.30 p.m. The object was traveling at high speeds through Northern California at 37,000 feet, according to the site.
There was no flight path recorded for the aircraft, and it did not respond to radio calls. Neither did it appear on any nearby aircraft Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems.
The object then turned north and merged with nearby commercial air traffic, before disappearing from radar.
Shortly after, several pilots radioed into air traffic control to report sightings of a white aircraft flying at 37,000 feet, but at distance too far to make an identification. This occurred for a period of half an hour and over hundreds of miles.
US Air Force F-15 interceptor fighters were then scrambled from Portland. But despite their speed and radar capability, the fighters could not locate the mystery aircraft.
The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), and the U.S. Air Force both confirmed to War Zone that the event did occur.
Recently, War Zone obtained, via a freedom of information request, audio recordings of radio transmissions and phone calls made by FAA staff during and after the event.
The recordings paint a fuller picture of what happened as authorities struggled to determine what they were dealing with.
In a recording after the initial spotting by air traffic control, a controller reported an object traveling “very fast at 37,000,” before remarking: “That’s crazy.”
When the F-15 fighters enter the scene, they can be heard calling air traffic control asking for an update. The controller responds that the aircraft “must be in stealth mode or something.”
Phone interviews with the pilots who saw the UFO conducted after the event provide further details about the craft.
The pilot of Southwest 4712 noted that he had not seen anything like this in his nearly 30-year flying career.
“If it was like a Lear [private jet] type airframe I probably would not have seen it this clear. This was a white airplane and it was big,” he said. And it was moving at a clip too, because we were keeping pace with it, it was probably moving faster than we were… It was a larger aircraft yeah.”
Online users on Reddit have speculated that the object may have been a drug smuggling aircraft or a secret military stealth plane. However, it was a test run for a new stealth craft, flying through a commercial carrier route during daylight hours would seem to be an odd move.
A news.com.au writer conjectures that Russia and China, which also have developed aircraft stealth technology, could also be capable of a flyover such as this.
Whatever theories we may have about the strange white aircraft, the recordings show that even the officials didn’t have a clue.

Op 25 oktober vorig jaar verscheen op klaarlichte dag een UFO boven de Amerikaanse staat Oregon. Er werden straaljagers op afgestuurd, maar die konden niets vinden.
Het onbekende vliegtuig werd rond 16.30 uur lokale tijd opgepikt op de radar, meldt website The Drive.
Het object bevond zich op ruim 11 kilometer hoogte en bewoog zich met grote snelheid voort. Het reageerde niet op radio-oproepen.
Niet traceren
Het kwam aangevlogen vanuit het noorden van Californië, begaf zich vervolgens onder het commerciële luchtverkeer en verdween uiteindelijk van de radar.
Kort daarop maakten diverse piloten bij de luchtverkeersleiding melding van een wit vaartuig op ongeveer 11 kilometer hoogte.
Vanuit Portland stegen F-15’s op om het object te onderscheppen, maar die konden het mysterieuze toestel niet traceren.

De Amerikaanse luchtvaartautoriteit en luchtmacht hebben bevestigd dat dit voorval zich daadwerkelijk heeft voorgedaan.
Uit geluidsopnames blijkt dat de autoriteiten grote moeite hadden om te begrijpen waar ze mee te maken hadden.
Een luchtverkeersleider maakte melding van een object ‘dat zeer snel bewoog op een hoogte van 11 kilometer’. “Dat is gestoord,” klonk het.
Nog nooit
Eén van de piloten merkte op dat hij gedurende zijn hele carrière nog nooit zoiets had gezien. “Het was een wit vliegtuig en het was groot,” zei hij.
Sommigen speculeren dat het object mogelijk een geheim militair stealthvliegtuig was. Maar het zou niet logisch zijn om zo’n vliegtuig te testen in een gebied waar ook lijnvliegtuigen vliegen.

A MYSTERIOUS low-level humming noise which has plagued a Canadian city for years has left residents unable to cope with the persistent sound with poor health.
The Windsor Hum, can be heard throughout Windsor, Ontario, home to almost 220,000 people, but it has been reported 90 miles away in the US city of Cleveland.

Troubled locals have taken matters into their own hands, recording the noise each day and comparing it to previous results, in a bid to determine its source
Complaints of the part noise, part vibration arose in 2011, when locals initially compared it to rattling windows.
But as the hum began to vary in its intensity, droning on for days at unbearable levels, distressed locals have taken to all forms of social media to question their hearing and vent their frustrations.
On Twitter, Kieran Owen wrote: "Heard the Windsor Hum for the first time. Like a distant yet gigantic lawn mower."
Jim Dunstan, who may be new to the local area questioned on Facebook: "Is there something going on? Can hear a loud humming and mechanical noises consistently in the past half hour or so."
Others have likened the sound to a fleet of diesel engines positioned right next to your home or the vibrations blasting from a concert sub woofer.
A Twitter group established to examine the Windsor Hum claimed the noise was at its worst in 2016.
The Windser Hum wrote: "The Hum is worse than its been in years!" A day later, another post said: "An entire community is being shaken by the Hum..24 hours and no rest!"
Locals have been affected to such an extent, they launched a private Facebook group to vent their frustrations, but also trying to find their own solutions.
Mike Provost who helps run the page has collected more than 4,000 pages of daily observations of the sound, during different weather conditions, in a bid to find a cause, the New York Times reported.

Sabrina Wiese beckoned others to consider having to leave their home town - full of everything and everyone they know and love - just to escape the sound.
Researchers from the Canadian government, the University of Windsor and the University of Western Ontario launched a series of studies to investigate its cause, but are still yet to provide concrete explanations.
A report from The University of Windsor suggested the hum originates from Zug Island on the Detroit River, because it is full of manufacturing operations.

“Is hier iets aan de hand?” vroeg Jim Dunstan zich af op Facebook. “Hoor al een half uur een hard, zoemend en mechanisch geluid.”
Anderen vergeleken het geluid met een rij dieselmotoren die vlak naast hun huis waren geplaatst of subwoofers tijdens een concert. De Windsor Hum zou in 2016 op zijn ergst zijn geweest.
Geen verklaring
Mike Provost doet onderzoek naar het geluid en heeft al 4000 pagina’s aan materiaal verzameld, schrijft de New York Times. Nog altijd is er geen verklaring voor de Hum gevonden.
Onderzoekers van de Canadese overheid en verschillende universiteiten hebben meerdere studies verricht, maar daar is tot op heden niets uitgekomen.
De Universiteit van Windsor suggereerde dat het geluid mogelijk afkomstig is van Zug Island, waar allerlei zware machines staan.

In Groot-Brittannië haalde de zogeheten Bristol Hum eind jaren zeventig het nieuws.

Ook het laatste decennium nog vielen vogels die te dicht bij Ploutonion (‘poort naar de hel’) vlogen dood neer. De overlevering wil dat de adem van Hades - de Griekse naam voor Pluto, god van de onderwereld - dodelijk was. In de Griekse en Romeinse oudheid werd ook beweerd dat mensen bedwelmd werden door de giftige dampen. Maar priesters konden blijkbaar wel overleven op de heilige plek.
Onderzoekers ontdekten dat de dampen voornamelijk bestaan uit dodelijke concentraties CO2-gassen, die opborrelen uit de aardkorst. De nieuwe studie werd gepubliceerd in het wetenschappelijke tijdschrift Archaeological And Anthropological Sciences.
Meer dan 2.000 jaar geleden schreef de Griekse historicus en geograaf Strabo al: “Deze ruimte is gevuld met dampen, zo mistig en dicht dat je nauwelijks de grond kunt zien. Elk dier dat binnenkomt, valt onmiddellijk dood. Ik gooide er mussen in en ze bliezen meteen hun laatste adem uit en vielen neer.”

Het heiligdom werd in 2011 door Italiaanse archeologen opnieuw blootgelegd. Tijdens de opgravingen stelden ze al vast dat de dampen verscheidene vogels hadden gedood. In de kleine tempel offerden priesters stieren aan Pluto, terwijl ze zelf lichtjes hallucineerden door de giftige dampen. Die blijken nu op te stijgen uit een onderaardse kamer waar een warmwaterbron boven een breuklijn ligt.
In de grot zelf kon de CO2-concentratie oplopen tot 91 procent, wat dodelijk is voor mens en dier. Rond de tempel konden priesters het hoofd hoog genoeg houden om zelf niet te bezwijken. Daar waren de concentraties veel lager. Vandaag ontsnappen volgens het onderzoek nog altijd kleinere gifwolken uit de grot, “die verbazingwekkend genoeg fataal kunnen zijn voor insecten, vogels en zoogdieren”.

THE International Space Station (ISS) appears to have recorded the mysterious and ancient Black Knight Satellite floating near to the Soyuz spacecraft, according to space watchers.
The Black Knight Satellite is the name given to an object captured on camera by NASA astronauts during a 1998 space shuttle mission.
Conspiracy theorists claim the satellite is of extraterrestrial origin and possibly up to 13,000 years old and orbiting Earth in near-polar orbit.
The legend has been circulating since the Sixties and now footage uploaded to YouTube channel Section 51 claims to be evidence of the alleged craft.
A caption beneath the video reads: “Leaked pictures from ISS show the 13,000 year old Black Knight Satellite UFO very close to Soyuz Spacecraft during approach to the Station.”

In the video, a mysterious and long looking black object can be seen floating near the Soyuz spacecraft, which is set to dock with the ISS.
As astronauts are heard mumbling in the background, the black knight seems to stay in the distance as if it were keeping an eye on what is happening.
Some of the comments show viewers were convinced by the authenticity.

AkumaGaming wrote: “I have a funny feeling that isn't piloted by someone, sent here to observe us on a daily activity.”
The Black Knight Satellite theory developed in 1963 when NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper was reported as saying he had seen the satellite while in space, but there was a media blackout upon his return and the US space agency allegedly put it down to cosmic hallucinations.
A decade later in 1973, Duncan Lunan, a researcher from Scotland, looked back at the Norwegian scientist data from 1928, before claiming the "messages" suggested the Black Knight was sent by aliens from Epsilon Boötis, as a welcome message to Earth 12,600 years ago.

In 1998, the first alleged photographs of the satellite emerged and were taken by astronauts on the space shuttle Endeavour, as it made its first flight to the ISS.
NASA however has looked to debunk the claims by saying that the Black Knight Satellite was actually a thermal blanket accidentally dropped from a space shuttle.

Despite the fact that the discovery sounds like an excellent beginning for a new Indiana Jones Movie—We love Indy—researchers say they have found what they are calling “The Gates of Hell.”
Obviously not in a literal way, this mythical portal to the underworld was mentioned by ancient Greeks and Romans alike.
“This space is full of a vapor so misty and dense that one can scarcely see the ground. Any animal that passes inside meets instant death. I threw in sparrows and they immediately breathed their last and fell,” wrote Greek historian Strabo (64 BCE – 24 CE).

The site discovered by experts is located in ancient Phrygian city of Hierapolis, now Pamukkale in southwestern Turkey
The great majority of ancient legends refer to the different ways of reaching the underworld, going through different stages that increase the suffering of the soul that leaves the body.
For many Romans, this process began in “the gateway to the underworld” and scientists have recently revealed that the site still exists.
The place is actually a cave that has been rediscovered by researchers from the University of Salento (Italy). The place belonged to ancient Phrygia and was used to perform animal sacrifices by priests.

However, what the ancients considered a reality as a portal to the underworld is something entirely different, and we can thank science.
After finding the location of the ancient ‘portal to the underworld’ scientists have found out why animals that approached the site died nearly instantly.
The cause is an underground seismic activity, through which a large amount of volcanic carbon dioxide is expelled to the surface that killed the animals, but not to the priests performing the sacrifice.
The ancient priests must have surely thought they were favored by their gods, while in fact, it was just science, all along.
Specialists from the University of Duisburg-Essen, in Germany, took samples of the levels of carbon dioxide in the area surrounding the cave and found that the gas forms a kind of “lake” that rises 40 centimeters above the ground.
Deadly Gases Still Emerge From This Ancient Portal to the Underworld.
One of the most surprising facts is that this area continues to be as deadly as it was back in the days of the Ancient Romans and Greeks.
The gas is dissipated by the sun during the day but is more deadly at dawn. The concentration reaches above 50 percent at the very bottom of the lake, rising to around 35 percent at 10 centimeters, which could even kill a human – but, above 40 centimeters, the concentration drops rapidly, reports Science Alert.
However, above 40 centimeters, the concentration decreases rapidly.
“While the bull was standing within the gas lake with its mouth and nostrils at a height between 60 and 90 cm, the large grown priests (galli) always stood upright within the lake caring that their nose and mouth were way above the toxic level of the Hadean breath of death,” the team wrote in their paper.
“It is reported that they sometimes used stones to be larger.”
Archaeological evidence suggests that the site was fully functional until the 4th century AD, but remained a place of sporadic visitation by visitors for the next two centuries. The temple was destroyed in the 6th century AD by Christians, while later earthquakes may have further damaged the site

Ladies and gents, meet the Gateway, or Doorway to hell.
There is a mysterious crater in the middle of the desert that simply put, can’t stop burning.
This massive crater located in Turkmenistan has not stopped burning since 1971, the year in which it was created by accident.
In the middle of the Karakum desert, in Turkmenistan, a singular flaming hole emerges from the earth: the well of Darvaza, popularly known as “Door to Hell.”

It is a huge crater that burns day and night without ceasing for nearly 50 years.
The strange circular depression, near the small village of Darvaza, is located on a huge desert that occupies practically 70% of the territory of the country and is very rich in oil and natural gas.
The origin of the crater goes back to a accident that took place in 1971, when a group of Soviet geologists, believing they had found a natural gas field, was conducting a survey in the area.
However, in the middle of their research, the earth split open and swallowed their machinery and the tents, before the astonished look of the researchers.
Turns out they had discovered an underground cave filled with natural gas.
Aware of this, and fearing that the dangerous gases escaped, the geologists decided to set it on fire thinking that it would eventually cease to burn in a few days. Little did they know how wrong they were.

Ever since it was set on fire, the Door To Hell burns without stopping and offers a show so impressive that it attracts tourists and adventurers to the remote area. Since 2009, 50,000 touristshave visitedthesite. The gas crater has a total area of 5,350 m2. The surrounding area is also popular for wild desert camping.
And although there have been several attempts to put out the crater flames, 69 meters in diameter and 30 meters deep, the flames continue to urn just as they started burning 47 years ago.
Inside the Door To Hell, the temperatures reach 1000degreesCelsius.
Curiously, Canadian explorer GeorgeKourounis—a man with real cojones—became the first person to descend into the crater, in 2013.

To achieve this extraordinary feat, Kourounis used a special system of pulleys, a heat-resistant suit, and breathing equipment.
Inside the well, he was able to take samples that allowed him to discover a methane-rich bacteria present in the burning environment.
Extraterrestrial life forms. We have watched them in movies, read them in books, saw them as the friends we always wanted and, also, the enemy that was too dangerous to be true. Some say they are us, but different while others say they are made up by the mind because it’s such a genius magician but a lousy researcher. We argue, debate and still find it difficult to come to a conclusion about their very existence. In the midst of it all, people make their own theory, their own story of how aliens are related to us or how they helped us progress at a great pace. One of the fiction is here which became more and more interesting as I thought about it over and over again. And after I wrote it, I said, “They are not very different than we are.”
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (not a Star Wars fan-fiction), there was a planet like ours. There resided the most intelligent beings that were known to their kind because life did not exist in planets and galaxies near them. They studied the atmospheric conditions of other planets which led them to conclude that most of them were barren and lifeless. This was a very disappointing conclusion because the planet, and its people, were breathing their last.
Much like our own planet Earth, their planet had also been victim of pollution, exploitation of resources and inevitable death. To sustain their kind, a group of astronauts were sent, on regular intervals, to different planets and galaxies, to know if there is any flicker of light that their kind might survive the apocalyptic end. After a certain period of time, it became mandatory for beings that fall under a certain age, to fly and seek life. The chances of survival were slim but it was the chance they had to take to ensure survival. For simplicity, let us assume, the beings to look something like the one in the cover photo.
They were long strides ahead of us in terms of technology but the basic problem of poverty, malnutrition, income inequality was also evident in their planet. It was too late to do anything. Land were infertile for agriculture, the air was so deadly that almost everyone had to take in regular medicines to find the oxygen among them and breathe, the water neither tasted tasteless nor looked colorless. The water treatment plants surrendered to the workload that was imposed on them. Euthanasia was made legal in most of the countries and number of suicides grew every week. Technologically, they possessed the ability to travel in time but only if they could go back in it.
An astronaut, like all the others, was depressed by the sight of its own planet. He wanted to go out there and find a planet where life would exist. If not now then later in the future. The thought of taking beings into the other planet, if life was found, was meaningless. The offspring’s chances of survival were uncertain in a foreign land because, even if a planet was found, it would’ve taken years before it was approved habitable. This led to debated between the scientific community and the other powerful ministers in the world. They finally decided to not send the beings but their DNA. If beings were present in the planet with life, then the infusion of DNA can either kill the being, have no effect or lead to something that was beyond imagination.
It set out with the same mission like any others’. Find home.
After travelling and skipping galaxies (due to technology, the spaceships could travel at light speed), the being finally came to our planet. But it was not like any other planet it had seen. The sky thundered, the clouds poured rain, asteroids and meteorites continued striking the planet and it was established that life was impossible here. But, just out of curiosity, the astronaut travelled in time unless he saw tall, thick trees, huge mountains, blue sky and large animals (dinos, of course).
Dodging their feet and camouflaging in the surrounding, the being experimented with the DNA of the animals and waited until their offspring was born. It was easy with the time travel, results could be seen instantly.
While some species had no effect, others died. The experimented was not limited to the huge animals as new, more evolved animals came into being. They could fly, swim, adapt between land and water, lived underground and eat each other. The range of animals impressed the astronaut and it motivated it to continue its experiments. But slowly as no progress was seen, the astronaut was starting to lose all the hope it had gained. After a particular time-travel, he didn’t see any huge animals at all. They had disappeared somewhere but the planet hadn’t changed.
As days went by, the astronaut grew more and more impatient and would often kill the animals because of frustration and annoyance. Sometimes it would lay down in the night and look at the stars, one might have been its planet, he could never know for sure. The beings there were dying and here it couldn’t find progress. It was the inevitable death, he thought, with no beginning.
During its stroll, he came across a peculiar primate that was small in comparison to huge gorillas. With lost hope, he experimented with them and travelled in time to see if anything, at all, happened. To its surprise, something had changed. The primates walked relatively straighter, the hair in their body reduced significantly, their round facial bone structure was now promising of a stronger cheekbone and they seemed to be less strong than they were.
This overwhelmed the astronaut with unknown emotions and he experimented with some more of the same species. It was working. Some years down the line and the body had much less hair, they walked straight and they were less strong but were much smarter now. They built home and wheel and fire which was never thought of by other animals, evident by their shock. Time grew and so did the intelligence. They built machines to carry people, to fly, to go swimming underwater but also those which killed each other when the time came.
The astronaut witnessed all these. It was not sure how old it was but it didn’t matter. Its kind survived. Someday the other astronauts might come and see the life dancing, as it should. As time passed further, the people grew less and less strong. Their shoulders hunched, many couldn’t walk with a straight back and the size of their head grew was larger than ever before. They looked abnormal to their kind but the astronaut knew what was going on.
After some centuries of wait, finally, almost everyone looked like the astronaut (although all of them had hunched back). The astronaut was filled with extreme joy by now but it felt week physically. Maybe it was time of its death but it was ready now. It would just be a matter of time before others discover this planet and group together to inhabit it with the other beings that live rather peacefully. The new beings were not smart or intelligent. Technologically they were years back than the specie of the astronauts but they knew how to live with each other (after many wars), and the astronaut died, thinking that its kind would be welcomed the same way.

Scientists have been following signals, sightings, and appearances supposedly paid by Aliens, however, there is no concrete proof of the existence of extraterrestrial life. But what if these aliens were real? What if the sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) were real? A UFO research group has leaked highly-confidential files belonging to the Government of the United States or Army to the Internet which made some striking revelation about the materials founded. The papers as quoted by a major news website were written between 2007 and 2012 classifying the materials found due to extraterrestrial sightings and UFOs. The paper elaborates that these ‘unknown’ materials have been tested and currently stored in a private facility thereby keeping everything under wrap.
It is not the first time when the United States Government or Army has been alleged of hiding valuable information such as the Apollo Moon Landing, the shape of the Earth, etc. According to the papers, some unknown materials were found across the United States which were recovered. It could be potential alien crash sites leaving the unknown material as wreck which is then supplied to the Department of Defence (DoD) which in turn, stores it in private and confidential facility. These revelations also hint towards the total expenditure of £16 million invested by DoD towards UFO budget to the private company ‘Bigelow Aerospace’ based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The files that were leaked recently had quoted that Bigelow Aerospace has been modified as a storage area where these materials can be stored without any hassle.
According to a former NASA employee, James Oberg stated that the Government of the army may not be directly involved with the Bigelow, however, there are chances that the latter contracted UFO research groups who would search and provide details on such sightings to Bigelow and then, the latter would inform the DoD about it. On the flip side, a former UFOs investigator for British Ministry of Defence stated that the material found can be mistaken as something not from Earth. He further explained that when a former or someone notices a UFO-like strange sighting and then finds any material alongside, he/she could mistakenly assume it to be from the UFO as well.
In a different story, enthusiasts have found what is said to be a UFO in the Arizona desert. The group revealed that they found the photos of that strange structure black in color in the Arizona Desert near deciduous trees. Many Ufologists have claimed that it could be a potential alien spaceship. In the pictures shown by Google Maps, there is a black spot over the structure which is a well-known trick used by governments to hide something from the satellites and it has happened in many instances.

On June 30, 1908, there was a massive explosion in a remote forest in Siberia, near the Podkamennaya Tunguska river. The explosion was so powerful, it flattened more than 80 million trees across 820 square miles (2,123 square meters). Later estimates compared the explosion to 1,000 atomic bombs.
People more than 40 miles (64 kilometers) away reported seeing a fireball as bright as the sun, followed by a searing heat; many were blown off their feet. Effects of the blast were felt as far away as Great Britain. But thanks to the political upheavals in Russia at the time (it was staring down two revolutions and a world war) the Tunguska event wasn't investigated until almost two decades later, when a scientific team led an expedition to the area in 1927.

The 1908 Tunguska explosion was so unusual that theories about what caused it abound. Some believe it was a comet or meteorite that exploded before impact, while others think it was Agda, the god of Thunderwho triggered the blast because he was displeased with the Siberian Evenki people. One writer even suggested an alien spaceship was trying to get to the nearby Lake Baikal for fresh water when it exploded just before landing. However, no remnants of any kind of spacecraft has been found in the area, undermining that theory for even the most strident believers.
In 1973, two scientists hypothesized that a miniature black hole somehow crashed into Earth, causing an antimatter explosion, and shot out the other side. But no exit wound or similar damage has ever been found or reported, making that theory easy to dismiss as well.
It's also been argued that famed inventor Nikola Tesla caused the explosion when he tested his theorized "death ray," a kind of particle-beam tool that would be able to repel any kind of attack. Tesla talked about this invention frequently, envisioning it to be the end of all war. Could he have tried his invention in this remote area? Or perhaps he was working from his Wardenclyffe Tower in New York, trying to send a wireless signal to explorer Robert Peary in the North Pole, but hit the Tunguska region instead?
This theory, too, has met with disdain, simply because there was never any evidence that Tesla had managed to create that kind of advanced technology. Whatever device he used would have required the 1908 New York power grid to operate, and could never generate the kind of energy released at the Tunguska event.
The most popular theory is that this was an impact event, in which a meteorite, comet or asteroid hits Earth. The only problem? There's no crater in the Tunguska region; the only physical evidence of the explosion was the flattened trees. How could there be an impact from a meteor that leaves no impact?
In 2007, Italian scientists proposed that perhaps the nearby small Lake Cheko was the crater, and that the asteroid was sitting at the bottom of it waiting to be discovered, but others say that their evidence isn't compelling enough to hold up to scrutiny.

Yellowstone Magma Chamber Under Immense Pressure After Deformation, Experts Warn
Seismologists who have been monitoring the Supervolcano at Yellowstone have said that new data has revealed that the magma chamber is under immense pressure and the caldera might erupt at any time.
Deformation Occurs When Pressure in Magma Chamber Changes
Experts have warned that the volcano is under strain after noticing deformation. This is said to be a process where the subsurface rock changes shape subtly and it is said to be happening under the surface of Yellowstone at the moment.
The researchers have said that the deformation happens when there has been a change in the pressure in the magma chamber and now the experts are keeping a careful watchful eye on any new development.
Seismologists from UNAVCO are now using GPS, along with borehole tiltmeters and borehole strainmeters so that they can measure the smallest of changes in any deformation at Yellowstone. Glen Mattioli and David Mencin, geodesists at UNAVCO said that the strain signal is bigger than what they expected if the crust that lies under Yellowstone was completely solid.
Semi-molten Rock May Be Just 3 Miles under the Surface
They believe that lava is flowing and this is allowing pressure to build up in the magma chamber and they have no idea whether this is a good or bad thing. The observations by the geodesists agree with other instruments used at Yellowstone, such as seismometers.
These give an indication that a zone of rock that is semi-molten lies around three miles under the surface. It is called semi-molten due to the fact that the whole zone has around 5% to 15% liquid rock occupying only a small pocket of space between the rocks that are solid.
Scientists want to give assurance to the public that the observations will not be a cause for alarm. However, they would say that and people should bear in mind that the last time that the volcano erupted was 700,000 years ago, so it is well overdue for another eruption. Now Yellowstone has been cast in the limelight due to the new data.
87,000 People Would Die If Yellowstone Supervolcano Erupted
If the volcano at Yellowstone were to erupt around 87,000 people would die immediately and around two-thirds of the United States would be left uninhabitable. It would lead to a huge amount of ash spewing into the atmosphere and it would block the sunlight out and affect life beneath it as there would be a nuclear winter. Perhaps the volcano at Yellowstone will not erupt for many more thousands of years or maybe it is giving a sign that eruption is close, we simply do not know.
