Het is een lief, aanhankelijk hondje, dat zich op een week snel aan ons heeft aangepast. Ze is heel vinnig en nieuwsgierig, een heel ander hondje dan Noleke.

A California witness at Lincoln reported watching a fast moving, cylinder-shaped object that crossed the horizon in about eight seconds, according to testimony in Case 82671 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was sitting at a northbound stop light at 2:45 p.m. on March 16, 2017, and observed the object moving from the northeast to the northwest at a very high rate of speed.

“Object seemed to be bus size – maybe 1,000 – 1,200 feet up,” the witness stated.“Object crossed 60 percent of our horizon in approximately eight seconds. My wife and I both observed the object – she thought it might be a drone, but we didn’t see any type of propulsion.”

The witness is familiar with aircraft.
“We’ve lived on numerous Air Force bases and are familiar with most aircraft.”
California MUFON Field Investigator Shelley Goodman closed this case as an Unknown.
“I spoke to both witnesses,” Goodman stated in her report. “They were at the intersection at 110 Lincoln Blvd, Lincoln, CA,when they both saw the object. He described it as something he’s never seen before. He was in the Air Force and knows all about aircraft and how fast they move. This flew through the sky three times faster than any aircraft. In 5-6 seconds, it covered about 60 percent of the horizon flying from west to the northwest. It was underneath the cloud cover, so they could see it clearly. He described it like one of those big propane tanks some people have in their backyard flying through the air. There were no emissions and no noise. When it did run through a cloud, none of the cloud moved. He indicated that it was about 30degrees high in the sky and that if you put your hand up, it would have been about as wide as a fingernail.

“She described it very similarly – a huge object flying through the sky at a very high rate of speed. She thought, ‘What the hell is that?’ She thought at first that it was a drone, but because of the speed there was no way it could have been. She said that there were no flashing lights like an aircraft would have. She could see the sun hit it, but couldn’t be certain of any type of pattern. After it flew through the sky, it suddenly disappeared.
“Due to the nature of the movements, no natural phenomenon or man-made information applies here.From what was described in the case and after discussing with the witnesses, I’m concluding this case as Unknown – UAV.”

An Australian witness at Eungella reported watching and photographing a cylinder-shaped object moving about 500 feet overhead in a straight line without noticeable sound, according to testimony in Case 82637 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness was outside with his wife and son at 6:50 a.m. on March 14, 2017, when the incident began.
“My son looked up at the sky, pointed and said, ‘moon?’”the witness stated. “My wife and I looked to see what he was pointing at and we saw a white, cylindrical or rectangular object above the clouds and travelling from south to north at a fast rate.”
The witness immediately noted the direction of wind in the area.
“The wind was blowing in the same direction; however, this object did not look like a balloon, but a solid, reflective structure.”

The witness quickly ran inside the house and retrieved his wife’s tablet, turned the camera on, and zoomed in on the object, managing to take three digital photos and one short video.
“My wife suggested the object might be a glider, but no person was seen and it did not have the shape one would expect to see. This was definitely cylindrical or rectangular in shape. It was also quite high, at least 400-500 feet or more above us, and made no sound or noise we could hear. The object appeared to be quite big, possibly 10-20 feet in length or longer, and was moving in a straight-line. We live in a sparsely populated area with thick rainforest, so this was a strange sight to see. This object was witnessed by me, my wife and son. The entire event lasted not more than 5 minutes before sighting of the object was lost over the trees.”
Eungella is an Australian township nestled on the edge of the Clarke Range at the end of the Pioneer Valley 80 km west of Mackay, and 858 km northwest of Brisbane.

MUFON Australia Field Investigator Kent May closed this case as an Unknown.
“The witness submitted directly to me the photographic and video evidence,” May stated in his report. “Unfortunately, the video footage is not good enough to submit, but is kept on file for future reference. Due to the speed of the object the UFO was constantly moving in and out of the video camera view finder. The photographic evidence was uploaded to image detecting websites and the images appear to be genuine. The witness has been cooperative and I find him to be a credible witness. Due to the distance of the object being rather close, no searches where conducted for satellites. There are several other UFO sightings posted over the past years in the same area of Eungella. The submitted sighting was witnessed by the witness, his partner and their child. I have no doubt in believing what the witness saw was described to the best of his ability.”

If you live in fear of an asteroid strike, here's some detail to help flesh out your nightmares.
A killer space rock is most likely to get you via violent winds that fling you against something hard or powerful shock waves that rupture your internal organs, according to a new study.
"This is the first study that looks at all seven impact effects generated by hazardous asteroids and estimates which are, in terms of human loss, most severe," lead author Clemens Rumpf, a senior research assistant at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, said in a statement. Rumpf and his colleagues simulated 50,000 asteroid strikes around the globe using computer models. These artificial impacts involved space rocks 50 feet to 1,300 feet wide (15 to 400 meters) — the size range that hits Earth most frequently, the scientists said.
Then, the team estimated the percentage of deaths caused by each of the seven effects Rumpf referred to: shock waves, wind blasts, heat, flying debris, cratering, seismic shaking and tsunamis.
Wind and shock waves were the most deadly, together accounting for more than 60 percent of all lives lost. (Though these two effects act in concert, wind blasts were far more devastating than shock waves, the study found.) The sizzling heat of an impact was responsible for nearly 30 percent of deaths, and tsunamis took most of the rest.
Each of the other three effects claimed only a tiny sliver of the death toll, according to the study. Flying debris had a maximum contribution of just 0.91 percent, for example; the figures for cratering and seismic shaking were 0.2 percent and 0.17 percent, respectively.
Rumpf and his colleagues also determined that land-based asteroid impacts are about 10 times deadlier than ocean strikes. In addition, they found that space rocks have to be at least 59 feet (18 m) wide to be lethal.
That lower limit is about the size of the object that exploded above the Russian city of Chelyabinsk in February 2013, generating a shock wave that broke countless windows on the ground below. The resulting flying glass shards injured more than 1,000 people but killed nobody.
"This report is a reasonable step forward in trying to understand and come to grips with the hazards posed by asteroids and comet impactors," Jay Melosh, a geophysicist at Purdue University who was not involved in the new study, said in the same statement.
Melosh added that the findings "lead one to appreciate the role of air blasts in asteroid impacts, as we saw in Chelyabinsk."
Astronomers have discovered more than 16,000 near-Earth objects to date. However, that number is just a tiny sliver of the total, which is thought to be in the millions.
Scientists think they've found about 95 percent of the nearby asteroids that could threaten human civilization if they were to hit Earth — behemoths at least 0.6 miles (1 km) wide — and none of these monsters poses a threat for the foreseeable future.
But there are still plenty of dangerous rocks zooming around out there undiscovered. On average, Earth gets hit by an asteroid at least 190 feet (60 m) wide every 1,500 years and by a rock at least 1,300 feet (400 m) wide every 100,000 years, Rumpf said.
"The likelihood of [a serious] asteroid impact is really low," said Rumpf. "But the consequences can be unimaginable."
Researchers around the world are studying ways to prevent asteroid strikes and thereby avoid those consequences. Most incoming space rocks that are detected with decades of lead time could likely be nudged away from Earth using "gravity tractors" and kinetic impactor probes, scientists say. (Gravity tractors would fly alongside a potentially dangerous asteroid for long stretches, whereas kinetic impactors would slam into the space rock.)
But a nuclear bomb may be required to deal with giant asteroids or comets that are discovered just weeks or months before a potential impact.

Mars has given us a lot to think about over the last two years that its hard to put all of this together.
From a distant planet and denuded, Mars has proven that it is more interesting than we had never thought of before.
Mars is about half of the diameter of the Earth with a surface is slightly less than the total area of the dry land. Mars is less dense than the earth, having approximately 15 per cent of the volume and 11 per cent of the land mass, resulting in approximately 38 per cent of the surface of the earth gravity.
But Mars is very similar to the earth in many ways. The experts have proven that the Red Planet was once remarkably similar to the earth, having an atmosphere, lakes, rivers, and oceans covering its surface.
Not long ago, NASA has revealed that Mars could have supported the life as we know it but everything changes when the red planet has lost its atmosphere.
According to scientists, the slow destruction of the atmosphere of the planet in our neighbor has been caused by "enormous rope-like tendrils of magnetic rotation. The Red Planet once the hospital atmosphere has been dazzled in a distant past. This means that when Mars was much younger, it was much more hot and humid, which means that it has been a very good candidate for the life to develop. Scientists believe that oceans of Mars have evaporated due to the thinning of the planet atmosphere that fact flees in space.
Although Mars has no evidence of a global magnetic field, the observations show that parts of the crust of the planet have been magnetized, suggesting that the alternation of the polarity of son dipole field have taken place in the past.
However, there are more things on Mars which have caused confusion among the experts. The exploration of Mars rovers of NASA has noticed the quantity of readings of methane at the surface of the Red Planet. On Earth, 90 per cent of the whole of the methane in the atmosphere is produced by living organisms. Traces of methane captured the Curiosity on the red planet, and the scientists believe that this could point to the existence of life on the red planet, at this precise moment, although there are other possible explanations.
But while Mars may not have life on its surface, many scientists claim that in the distant past, the Red Planet has perhaps taken in charge of the life and not only primitive life, but of complex life forms developed countries who have perhaps even the structures built on its surface.
One of these researchers is Dr. John A plasma physicist who has obtained his diploma at the University of California at Davis and which apparently has had a brilliant career as a scientist submits that the Martian life has been deliberately destroyed with nukes.
In a scientific article, Dr. Brandenburg says: That Mars present, "… based on new data, the evidence that during this period of Earthlike climate, biological evolution product, to length, a humanoid civilization leaving ruins at several sites, Cydonia Mensa and Galaxias Chaos being two sites more intensively studied. The data from these sites has formed the basis of the hypothesis Cydonia (Brandenburg, DiPietro and Molenaar, 1991) of a former, indigenous populations, about the civilization of the Bronze Age on March."
And, curiously, each day of new images of Mars prove that there is something strange on its surface. Over the past two years, countless images of Mars were analyzed by foreign hunters across the world. Some of them --show awkwardly which seems to be artificially structured on the surface of the Red Planet.
All jokes aside, a part of the substance found in Mars that makes you think "that if in a certain way, the life on Mars developed millions of years ago, and has finally disappeared?"
Would it not find traces of this life today?

The moon is covered in an extensive network of underground caves and tunnels. This two mile wide cave could house an enormous alien civilization and remain hidden. It is very likely that our alien ancestors are living much closer than we previously thought.

De Tianzhou-1 ('Hemels Schip') vertrok volgens het staatstelevisiestation CGTN om 13.41 uur Belgische tijd van op de basis Wenchang op het zuidelijke eiland Hainan, bovenop een Lange Mars-7 Y2 draagraket. Het ruimteschip is succesvol in een baan rondom de Aarde gekomen.
De onbemande cargo moet zich binnen twee dagen vastklinken aan het in september gelanceerde lab Tiangong-2. Dit prototype van ruimtestation wordt dan bijgetankt en krijgt materiaal aangeleverd.
De cargo zal ook wetenschappelijke experimenten uitvoeren alvorens bij het eind van zijn missie van drie maanden weer op Aarde terug te vallen.
Het meer dan tien meter lange vrachtruimteschip kan meer dan zes ton lading en satellieten vervoeren. Het eerste exemplaar geldt als essentieel voor het uitbaten van een ruimtestation dat het Aziatische land tegen 2020 wil bouwen en dat twee jaar later af moet zijn.
Wanneer in 2024 de uitbating stopt van het Internationaal Ruimtestation, waarin Peking niet deelneemt, zal China dan het enige land zijn met een ruimtestation.
Het was de tweede lancering van dit type van Lange Mars-7. De maidenmissie vond in juni 2006 plaats.

Op de livestream van het internationale ruimtestation ISS is een mysterieus object gespot. Volgens UFO-experts gaat het om een cilindervormig vaartuig dat doorzichtig wordt, schrijft de Daily Mirror.
De onderzoekers zeggen dat de cilinder ‘gedeeltelijk transparant’ was, wat mogelijk een techniek is om de UFO onzichtbaar te maken.
“Ik zag in de verte een UFO die steeds dichter in de buurt van het ruimtestation kwam,” zei Scott C. Waring van de website UFO Sightings Daily.
Beschermen
“De UFO was deels verhuld, waardoor hij er doorzichtig uitzag,” vervolgde hij.
Waring voegde toe dat ruimteschepen zich op deze manier mogelijk beschermen tegen buitenaardse soorten die niet vriendelijk zijn.
Het is niet voor het eerst dat er onverklaarbare objecten zijn gezien op livebeelden van het ISS.
Grote bollen
In februari was op beelden van de NASA te zien hoe zes grote bollen het ISS passeerden.
In een video van de Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisatie bewogen de UFO’s van rechts naar links door het scherm.
Nadat ze waren gespot ging het beeld op zwart, zo claimden complottheoretici.
Codewoord
Vorig jaar werd ook gesuggereerd dat een ‘nerveuze’ astronaut het controlecentrum informeerde over een vreemde rode UFO.
Ze claimden dat hij het woord ‘evangelie’ gebruikte toen het object verscheen en vermoedden dat dit een codewoord was, aangezien ground control antwoordde: ‘we bidden voor je’.

Wetenschappers hebben een nieuwe superaarde gevonden op een afstand van ‘slechts’ 40 lichtjaar.
Volgens de onderzoekers is de superaarde een grotere kanshebber om buitenaards leven te vinden dan de eerder ontdekte Proxima b en TRAPPIST.
De planeet, LHS 1140b geheten, zou minstens vijf miljard jaar oud zijn en met een diameter van 18.000 kilometer is hij bijna 1,5 keer groter dan de aarde.
Leefbare zone
Uit het feit dat zijn massa ongeveer zeven keer zo groot is als die van onze planeet kan worden afgeleid dat hij grotendeels uit ijzer en gesteente bestaat.
De exoplaneet bevindt zich in de zogenoemde leefbare zone rond zijn ster. In die zone kan water in vloeibare vorm voorkomen.
Moederster LHS 1140 is een rode dwerg, een ster die veel kleiner en koeler is dan de zon. Hierdoor ontvangt exoplaneet LHS 1140b maar ongeveer half zoveel licht van zijn ster als de aarde.
Levensvatbaarheid
Er bestaat een kans dat de planeet een atmosfeer heeft weten te behouden. In dat geval zou er vloeibaar water op het oppervlak van de planeet kunnen zijn.
Waarnemingen met de Hubble-ruimtetelescoop moeten de ‘levensvatbaarheid’ van LHS 1140b nader gaan bepalen.
Spannendste exoplaneet
Volgens experts zou deze ontdekking dé doorbraak kunnen zijn. “Dit is de spannendste exoplaneet die ik in de afgelopen 10 jaar ben tegengekomen,” zei hoofdonderzoeker Jason Dittmann van het Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
“Een beter doelwit voor de zoektocht naar tekenen van leven buiten de aarde kunnen we ons nauwelijks wensen,” voegde hij toe.

Alhoewel we nog steeds vroeg in het voorjaar zijn, verschijnen in Engeland alweer de eerste graancirkels.
Nog steeds houden de mainstream media vol dat er jaar na jaar halvegaren met plankjes onder de voeten dit soort dingen blijven maken, maar de waarheid is waarschijnlijk anders.
De allereerste officiële graancirkel van dit jaar is op 16 april 2017 gevonden in een veld in het Engelse Wiltshire.
Misschien omdat het seizoen voor graancirkels net is begonnen, zijn deze nog relatief eenvoudig, vergeleken met de vele ingewikkelde constructies die we in de loop der jaren hebben gezien.
Die in het plaatsje Cherhill in het Engelse Wiltshire was ongeveer 80 meter lang, werd op 16 april ontdekt en zag eruit als volgt:
Er wordt natuurlijk weer driftig gezocht naar de betekenis van deze cirkel en er wordt gesuggereerd dat het misschien iets te maken kan hebben met een vrij unieke stand van planeten aan onze hemel op 21 augustus van dit jaar, wanneer aarde, maan, zon en venus op één lijn staan en wanneer op die dag ook nog een zonsverduistering plaats vindt.
Hetzelfde symbool vind je ook terug op een 5.000 jaar oude steen in West Dunbartonshire in Schotland, de zogenaamde Cochno Stone. Volgens onderzoekers wordt op deze steen een soort kosmische kaart afgebeeld.
Er zijn in het verleden al vaker graancirkels gevonden met symbolen die eveneens op de Cochno Stone voorkomen.
Maar, misschien heeft het symbool een hele andere betekenis en wellicht zullen er lezers zijn die zelf een interpretatie van deze graancirkel hebben.
Iemand die geen enkele moeite heeft met het interpreteren van de tweede graancirkel van 2017 is de ufoloog Scott Waring.
De navolgende werd gevonden op 18 april 2017 in de plaats Tarlton in Gloucestershire en zag er als volgt uit:
Volgens Scott is het duidelijk dat we hier te maken hebben met de afdrukken van een buitenaardse UFO, vergezeld van twee kleinere die volgens hem poolshoogte kwamen nemen over het soort veld waar ze mee te maken hebben.
Wat hij er niet bij vertelt, is of ze dit veld dan onderzoeken zodat ze weten hoe ze straks mooie graancirkels kunnen maken of dat ze dit doen omdat ze de genetische samenstelling van de gewassen aan een nader onderzoek willen onderwerpen.
Onlangs schreven wij een artikel over een drietal vreemde cirkels nabij een landingsbaan van een klein vliegveld in Argentinië. Ook daar wordt vermoed dat er op die locatie een aantal buitenaardse UFO’s zijn geland.
Naar aanleiding van dat artikel, kwam er iemand naar voren (dank!) die zegt dat er ook in Nederland dergelijke dingen zijn gebeurd, een aantal jaren geleden.
Het schijnt dat er eind 70er, begin 80er jaren een soortgelijk incident is geweest in Nederland en wel vlakbij de voormalige RAF basis te Laarbruch die in Duitsland op de grens met Nederland ligt.
Mijn buurman komt er uit de buurt en volgens hem zijn er destijds ufo's geland die brandende cirkels achterlieten, het schijnt dat deze cirkels perfect waren. Achteraf werd het als een kwajongensstreek afgedaan, maar dat ging er bij de getuigen niet in, daarvoor waren de cirkels te perfect.
Meer informatie heb ik tot dusver niet weten te achterhalen, maar ik neem mijn buurman wel serieus. Volgens hem zijn er ook enkele incidenten in de 60er jaren geweest waarbij vele mensen ufo's in dezelfde regio zagen. Het betreft overigens een afgelegen hei- en bosgebied tussen Bergen (L), Siebengewald (NL), de Maas en de Duitse grens.
Zelf heb ik daar samen met een voormalige buurvrouw ook al eens een ufo gezien tijdens een experiment van Above Top Secret in 2008 waarbij het doel was middels gedachten (samengebundeld) ufo's op te roepen. Mijn camera stond op de Maan gericht, mijn buurvrouw riep me zo van, "hey, kijk eens daar", ik draaide me om en zag een bol net zo groot als de Maan, maar het leek veel dichterbij en kleiner. Ik schrok me rot (opwinding), draaide me weer om om de camera te draaien, maar toen ik weer keek was het al weer weg...
De bol leek op de ondergaande zon en was oranje van kleur, het kon echter de zon niet zijn want die was al onder en het object verscheen in het oosten.
Mochten er mensen zijn die zich nog dingen kunnen herinneren van die gebeurtenissen, dan horen wij dat graag.
En ondertussen is het lente, want de graancirkels zijn er weer.

But one expert says space junk or a satellite are more likely explanations than apparently 'unreliable' cloaking devices.

CLOAKING DEVICES
According to the Institute of Physics, metamaterials which can bend electromagnetic radiation such as light around an object to give the appearance that it isn't there.
To date some researchers have used such properties of metamaterials to create devices that can bend certain forms of radiation, such as near-infrared radiation.
So far, however, producing the same effect with visible light has proved more of a challenge.
The footage appears to show the object suddenly appearing near the space station, before starting to approach it.
Part of the cylinder is then seen to disappear, which the UFO spotter who shared the footage believes is evidence of cloaking technology.
Speaking on his blog UFO Sightings Daily, astro-biologist Scott C Waring said: 'I noticed a UFO in the distance that was coming closer and closer to the space station.
'The UFO was partially cloaked, which made it look transparent.
'In the deep blackness of spaces, blending into the environment means you will be safer from other alien species that may not be so friendly.
'Bob Lazar said in Area S4 (inside Area 51) that he read documents that said that the USAF knew of 56 space faring species.'
The video, shared on YouTube, had attracted over 20,000 views at the time of publication.
But UFO expert and author of the UFO Investigations Manual Nigel Watson believes a more simple explanation is likely.
He said: 'If alien spacecraft buzzing the ISS use cloaking technology it isn't very reliable if they keep appearing and disappearing.
'You'd think by now they could easily avoid our cameras and other sensing technology!
'This latest video looks like it is either a distant satellite, or a piece of space junk that is relatively close to the camera.
'Rather than cloaking technology it has probably gone out of sight by moving out of the glare of the Sun.'
This is not the first time that strange objects, argued to be evidence of aliens, have been spotted near the International Space Station.
Over the past year, there have been a growing number of sightings of unidentified objects on Nasa feeds, and some have even claimed a cover-up of the existence of extra-terrestrial life.
The most recent took place back in March, when another video was uploaded to YouTube.

Conspiracy theorists suggested that this was an alien 'megaship', which they claimed Nasa tried altered the lights to make the object seem to disappear.
While it is not always possible to determine exactly what these objects are during the brief period they appear in the stream, there are a number of possible explanations for these types of sightings.
'It is astonishing how many UFOs are seen buzzing around the ISS, but like this video there is usually a simple explanation for them,' Nigel Watson, UFO expert and author of the UFO Investigations Manual, told MailOnline after a similar sighting in January.

'This could well be a lens reflection that appears and then goes as the light changes, giving the impression of an extraterrestrial space coming into view and then cruising out of sight.
'Many UFOs caught by the ISS's cameras can be also be explained as images of space junk or satellites in the distance, and even very small flecks of paint or particles can appear like UFOs when caught by the bright light from the sun.'
In the past, a Nasa spokesperson has explained: 'Reflections from station windows, the spacecraft structure itself or lights from Earth commonly appear as artefacts in photos and videos from the orbiting laboratory.'
DO YOU BELIEVE IN CONSPIRACY THEORIES?
People who doubt the moon landings are more likely to be selfish and attention-seeking, according to a study earlier this year.
Over the course of three online-based studies, researchers at the University of Kent showed strong links between the belief in conspiracy theories and negative psychological traits.
Writing in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science, the team explained: 'Previous research linked the endorsement of conspiracy theories to low self-esteem.'
In the first study, a total of 202 participants completed questionnaires on conspiracy beliefs, asking how strongly they agreed with specific statements, such as whether governments carried out acts of terrorism on their own soil.
Alongside this, they were asked to complete a narcissist scale and a self-esteem assessment.
The results showed that those people who rated highly on the narcissism scale and who had low self-esteem were more likely to be conspiracy believers.
This is just the latest in a series of claims Nasa footage shows UFOs before cutting out.
In footage from the ISS channel uploaded to YouTube by user ColdPyro in November last year, a white speck can be seen emerging from the darkness just above Earth's horizon.
Right before the 'UFO' travels out of view, the feed cuts to a grey screen, followed by a statement asking users to 'please stand by' due to technical issues.

Can you help a father and his young daughter solve the mystery of this ‘UFO’?
Video footage taken by David Woodward and his nine-year-old daughter, Georgia, captures a small, black object hovering around the wing of a plane 40,000ft in the air.
David noticed the unusual object while filming Georgia on a flight from Manchester Airport to Lanzarote earlier this month.
He said: “We had set off from Manchester and were only in the air for around 10 minutes when we started filming Georgia for her YouTube channel. She was saying how lovely the sky was and then I saw the black object.
“I thought it might have been an anomaly on the screen, or a bird. But after looking into it, a bird wouldn’t be that high up.”

The footage was uploaded to Georgia’s YouTube channel, Kidskillz, and shows a small black object darting around near the tip of the wing.
David, a factory worker from Merseyside, added: “It was strange because it kept changing direction and then bobbing and weaving around. Georgia was a bit sceptical and she laughs at me for saying it might be a UFO, but you never know.
“I’m really interested to hear what people think it is.”
There have been many reported sightings of ‘UFOs’ in recent years in the area - with Greater Manchester being dubbed one of the country’s hotspots. Only Merseyside has had more mysterious sightings in the last two years, according to police figures.
The data from last year revealed an uncannily high number of reports across the North West as a whole - more incidents than any other region in the UK.
Merseyside Police received 13 reports of UFOs since January 2013, with Greater Manchester Police close behind with 10.
During that time, one Rochdale resident told GMP she had seen a trio of UFOs, all flying together.
The woman reported how she went to A&E over concerns she would pass out from the shock.

I was waiting for the bus while taking to a friend when i noticed 3 lights in a triangle pattern over the mouth of the river exe. Took some video and pictures with my phone before the bus came and I left.
On april 17th at 9.41pm I was waiting for my bus to come in after my break, (I’m a bus driver) and was taking to my bestman about my upcoming wedding on the phone. I would normally be in our rest room but since the clock in the restroom was fast (about 7mins fast) I had gone out early to wait while still chatting to my friend.
While i was talking i was just kind of walking about near the leisure center, where my bus stops, when I looked randomly over in the direction of the river which is when i saw the three lights in a triangle pattern rotating on its axis and wobbling slightly.
I knew instantly that this is not normal and as I have been interested in the subject of ufos since I was about 10 I told my mate i’d ring him back and started filming the lights with my phone. Due to the street lights my camera was having a hard time focusing on the formation, so i moved closer to the river to get a better view, (in some haste since I still had to drive a bus which was going to be there at any moment) I filmed a 2min40sec odd vid, then whatsapp-ed my friend to tell him and see if he could see it over vid-call. (which he couldnt as it wouldnt let me zoom in) I then took about 7 photos in quick order and then another 41second vid to send my mate over whatsapp. It’s at this point I really had to go back to the bus stop to get my bus and as I walked over 4 ppl got out of a car in the car park and I pointed out the lights to them also (to which they showed a bit of interest but not much)
It was then my bus got there at 10.02pm and I showed the lights to my co-worker who tried to think of any reason they might be something other than a ufo, (drone, laser pointers etc) he went to cashin and finish and i had to drive as i was now 7 mins late lol
I drove to the turn around point and back in est 8 mins and the lights were gone by the time I got back down to town, (and could not see them on the way down as i had a good view over the area due to the road i was driving)
During the event I felt elation and joy, (the only way I can describe it was the feeling MDNA/ectasy gives you. it’s been years since i had any but i’ll never forget the feeling of pure joy. It felt exactly like that, massive endorfin rush) I was bouncing around like an excited child
In total I talked to about 10 people who saw what I did, with one old gentelman who got on my bus who thought he’d just drunk to much.

(image 5, had to zoom in to the image and then take a photo of it because the only imaging software i have can only brighten which clouds the image)
NASA's live feed of the International Space Station (ISS) captured a mysterious object, which UFO experts claim is an alien cylinder that goes transparent.
The odd shape was spotted in a black space behind the ISS by space fans watching the live feed.
And experts said the cylinder - which they claim was a UFO - was 'partially transparent', which may be a technique used to keep the craft safe so that it is not seen.
UFO expert Scott C Waring, shared the footage and said: "I noticed a UFO in the distance that was coming closer and closer to the space station. The UFO was partially cloaked, which made it look transparent."
In the live video, relayed by the American space agency, the UFOs move from the right of the screen towards the left. After they were seen conspiracy theorists claimed the live feed was cut.
Last year it was also suggested that a "nervous" astronaut was telling ground control about the appearance of a strange red-coloured UFO on the live NASA feed.
They claim he said the word "gospel" when the object appeared, and suggested this may have been a codeword as ground control replied "we pray for you."
Don’t bet on humans finding aliens just walking around on another Earth-like planet — they'll more likely be swimming. That’s the assertion of one scientist, who predicts most of the exoplanets we find in habitable zones around their stars are almost entirely covered in water.
Earth itself is about 70 percent water on its surface, but the alien planets are likely “dominated by oceans spanning over 90 percent of their surface area,” a study in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society speculated. Author Fergus Simpson of the University of Barcelona’s Institute of Cosmos Sciences writes that such extensive water coverage would explain why some exoplanets that astronomers have discovered have not been as dense as expected.
As experts search for planets that may harbor extraterrestrial life, they are usually looking for planets that are within a certain distance of their host star, called the habitable zone. In that orbit range, the planets are at the right temperature and radiation levels to support life as we understand it — for example, not so close that the planet’s water boils into gas and not so far that it freezes into a rock of ice. Land coverage on the surface doesn’t exactly factor into that particular equation.

A report from the Royal Astronomical Society explains that if a planet were to have substantial land and water coverage, “a delicate balance must be struck between the volume of water it retains over time, and how much space it has to store it in its oceanic basins.”
That’s not to say there isn’t any rock on a water-covered planet at all, but perhaps that the ocean is so deep that a submerged landmass cannot poke through to the surface.
We still do not understand why Earth is so well-balanced. “Earth itself is very close to being a so-called ‘waterworld’ — a world where all land is immersed under a single ocean,” the society says.

This idea of water-covered planets might be applicable to an Earth-like exoplanet that was recently discovered. Scientists just announced they found LHS 1140b, a planet believed to consist of both rock and liquid water and orbiting a star that’s only 40 light years from Earth.
But we are not counting out other types of worlds — at the same time NASA prepares to search for signs of alien life on Mars, it is also creating a fleet of robots that could dig for clues on ice-covered moons in our solar system, such as Enceladus and Europa. The robots include tools like buzzsaws and catapults.
In previous decades, governments and national entities were the ones leading humanity’s charge into space. These efforts met with stunning success. The Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union put the very first human in space and took the very first humans to the Moon. The united efforts of five space agencies gave humans a permanent base in space—the International Space Station (ISS). Ultimately, these breakthroughs resulted in the creation of a host of spinoff technologies that transformed our society.
But it has been 40 years since we have been to the Moon. The ISS is nearly 20 years old. Governments have stalled, and a new generation of entrepreneurs has taken over.
This is the age of privatized space. From Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which has successfully deployed a host of reusable rockets and carried goods to the ISS, to Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, which has successfully tested its own reusable rocket and is well on its way to making space tourism a viable option for all people, commercial space companies are taking space out of the hands of governments and giving it to the people.
This is where the New York Center for Space Entrepreneurship (NYCSE) comes in. In short, their main goal is to accelerate humanity’s journey into space, and they seek to do this by working with companies, investors, and other entities in order to help democratize space for all people and create a global space economy. With this in mind, today, they are announcing aseries of initiatives that will support space entrepreneurship around the globe.

Sidney Nakahodo, Lecturer in International and Public Affairs at Columbia University co-founder of NYCSE, notes that our space projects are transforming at an unprecedented rate. He states that the“convergence of decreasing costs, access to launching opportunities, and fast technology evolution has propelled innovation in new products, services, and business models” is and ushering is into “a new era of space entrepreneurship.”
To this end, by nurturing businesses and entrepreneurs, NYCSE aims to help shape (or reshape) space exploration in the 21st century.
Making Space Affordable
The importance of these efforts cannot be overstated. As Nakahodo notes, commercial space has already helped to create a host of breakthrough technologies, and more are on their way.
Commercial space has helped solve some of the most pressing problems of our time. Telecommunications, GPS, weather forecast are just a few examples of applications. Currently, non-government space already accounts for more than USD 250 billion, around 75% of the total yearly global space economic activity.
Beyond tax revenues and job creation, the most important outcome of the commercial space expansion will be how it will affect our lives. Fundamentally, the more we travel to space, the more we will reflect upon our own place in the universe, both in the attempt to address existential questions as well as a quest for collective inspiration.
Sadly, most innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs aren’t able to fully participate in this ecosystem, as they lack access to the necessary monetary resources. Nakahodo outlines the succinctly summarizes the specific issue, noting that, “all of this is happening in times of limited public funding for space activities.” This is something that NYCSE hopes to help fix; however, their initiatives are about far more than just providing finances.
For Nakahodo, the most notable aspect of this new age in space entrepreneurship is the way that it equalizes spaceflight, bringing all people closer to the stars. He asserts, “The most interesting projects involve democratizing access and bringing humanity closer to space. That means not only developing the rockets necessary to take us there, such as SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Virgin Galactic are doing, but also creating the infrastructure that will allow private citizens to spend time in space.” And that infrastructure is precisely what NYCSE is working to create.
Outlining the specifics of the work, Nakahodo states that the first problem is tackling issues related to access to information. “One of the main challenges for commercial space ventures is the lack of business knowledge and early stage support. Therefore, we are launching a series of initiatives aimed at assisting space entrepreneurs with business learning and idea validation.”
The next problem stems from issues associated with networking—with connecting individuals working on various aspects of the industry so that they have all of the tools and resources (and people) needed to successfully complete their work. Nakahodo states that the second part of their initiative involves “developing an online platform that will allow space entrepreneurs to help each other, as well connect with mentors and investors.” Finally, NYCSE is giving individuals direct access to necessary resources by sponsoring specific joint programs.

Unlike the dinosaurs, humans have a pretty good idea of what will happen if a six-mile-across asteroid smacks the planet, thanks to a new study that ranks the lethality of the worst effects of such an impact.
“This is the first study that looks at all seven impact effects generated by hazardous asteroids and estimates which are, in terms of human loss, most severe,” Clemens Rumpf, lead author of the study and senior research assistant at the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, said of the findings.
The results, published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, were compiled by working with computer simulated models of high magnitude impacts to land and sea, and how they would have riptide effects across the globe. Here are the worst-case scenarios ranked by severity:
7. Seismic Shaking
The earth would likely rumble, but as the least devastating effect, it would only account for about .17 percent of the total lives lost. In a world with seven billion people, though, that’s still 1.1 billion people. So, NBD.

6. Cratering
Still less than one percent, cratering left by an impact would cause infrastructure like bridges and homes to collapse into giant pits. But, because this is the result of a direct hit, it would have to be in a major city or populated region for it to cause true destruction.
5. Airborne debris
Just as we saw with the meteor impact in Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013, the majority of injuries and deaths were caused by broken glass flying into unsuspecting faces watching the blast through their windows. Ouch.
4. Tsunami
Giant waves would probably be a larger issue if the asteroid hits the ocean. As most humans live on the coast, however, this could lead to up to 70 to 80 percent of losses. But, inland humans would be saved, so it kind of defeats the purpose of an asteroid. Kind of.
3. Thermal Radiation
Accounting for 30 percent of fatalities, thermal radiation would roast humans to death, or at least result in some pretty horrendous burns. If a human survives this one, the radiation would most likely lead to poisoning or cancer in the end.
2. Overpressure Shock
Overpressure shocks from an impact are tied with the worst of the worst and could lead to the rupture of internal organs, meaning humans could literally explode. Unless you’re superhuman and made of adamantium, you won’t be surviving this one.
1. Wind Blast
There’s a reason wind blasts are tied with overpressure as the most gruesome. After a large enough blast, bodies could be blown to bits, burned up, or dislocated and thrown across the state. Both pressure shock and wind blast would account for 60 percent of total fatalities.

The scientists believe this study will help mitigate the effects of a asteroid strike, saying that small towns in the target area would be better off evacuating. But, if it’s going to hit a large city, we may want to consider launching a missile at the rock.
“If only 10 people are affected, then maybe it’s better to evacuate the area,” Rumpf said. “But if 1,000,000 people are affected, it may be worthwhile to mount a deflection mission and push the asteroid out of the way.”
As cynical as it may seem, this study is our best hope for getting out of the way. Luckily, Rumpf says, “the likelihood of an asteroid impact is really low.”
NASA-astronaut Gordon Cooper heeft 40 jaar lang een geheim bewaard dat hij ontdekte tijdens een solovlucht rond de aarde in de jaren 60. Toen hij naar buiten keek, merkte hij een eigenaardigheid op in het Caraïbische gebied en die heeft nu een ware schattenjacht op gang gebracht.

Cooper moest tijdens zijn vlucht elf wetenschappelijke experimenten uitvoeren. En het was tijdens zijn 22 omwentelingen aan boord van de Mercury-Atlas 9 dat hij een vreemde ontdekking deed. Het was de periode van de Cubaanse raketcrisis en het land had de wereld enkele maanden ervoor op de rand gebracht van een nucleaire oorlog. Cooper had daarom speciaal materiaal aan boord waarmee hij vanop grote hoogte clandestiene nucleaire installaties kon detecteren over de hele wereld.
Donkere vlekken Toen hij inzoomde op het zuiden van het Caraïbische gebied, zag hij plots donkere vlekken in het ondiepe water. Het konden geen nucleaire silo's zijn, daarvoor hadden ze niet de juiste vorm. Toen hij ze beter bestudeerde, begon hij te vermoeden dat het scheepswrakken waren. In totaal detecteerde hij er zo'n honderd. Hij fotografeerde ze en noteerde de coördinaten. En hij dacht dat de verloren vloot van Christopher Columbus er wel eens bij zou kunnen zijn. Terug op aarde ging hij de coördinaten vergelijken met eerder gedane research en werkte hij in het geheim aan een kaart waarvan hij geloofde dat ze de weg leidde naar miljarden euro's aan onderwaterschatten. Daar was hij decennialang mee bezig.
Dood En het is die kaart die nu een ware schattenjacht op gang heeft gebracht in het Caraïbische gebied, zo blijkt uit een nieuwe documentaire die vanaf deze week wordt uitgezonden op Discovery Channel in de Verenigde Staten. Cooper liet de kaart na zijn dood in 2004 achter aan zijn kameraad Darrell Miklos. "Ik denk dat hij wist dat zijn einde naderde", vertelt die. "Hij gaf me alle informatie die hij al had verzameld en liet me beloven dat ik zijn onderzoek zou afwerken als hij er niet meer was."
Miklos nam dat ter harte om zijn vriend en mentor te eren. En om de verloren gegane schatten op de bodem van de zee te vinden. Hij stelde een team van archeologen en onderzoekers samen en ging op jacht. En daarbij wilde hij de dikke vissen als eerste boven halen.
Waarde "Gordon duidde plaatsen aan die speciale aandacht verdienden omdat hij vermoedde dat er schepen waren vergaan met een erg grote lading aan boord", gaat Miklos verder. "Daar focussen we dan ook als eerste op. Want als we die vinden, zullen we meteen ieders aandacht hebben. We vermoeden ook dat we dingen zullen vinden die een grote historische waarde hebben."
Miklos weet waar hij mee bezig is. Hij komt uit een familie van schattenzoekers, die al talloze missies tot een succesvol einde bracht in de jaren zestig en zeventig. Het was via zijn vader dat hij Cooper leerde kennen. De man ging onder meer op zoek naar gebruikte lanceerraketten van het Apollo Programma van de NASA en hij nam zijn zoon in 1978 mee naar een tv-show waar de astronaut ook te gast was. Cooper en Miklos ontmoetten elkaar achter de schermen en dat was het begin van een lange en diepe vriendschap.
Schatten "Van het midden van de jaren negentig tot zijn dood praatten we regelmatig over schatten, maar het was pas in 2002 dat hij me over zijn geheime onderzoek vertelde", aldus Miklos. "Ik ben de enige die de documenten gekregen heeft. In 2014 heb ik Gemini Marine Exploration opgericht, met als doel het lokaliseren en ophalen van artefacten uit gezonken schepen. En momenteel zijn we bezig met enkele veelbelovende projecten in de Caraïben."
'Cooper's Treasure' wordt eerst uitgezonden op Discovery Channel in de Verenigde Staten, maar zal daarna ook op andere plaatsen ter wereld te zien zijn.
Flying saucers carrying mysterious visitors are one of the classic sci-fi motifs. But there are visitors and there are visitors. Some aliens, like Klaatu in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), land their saucer on the Mall in Washington, D.C., then walk right out backed up by his badass robot Gort and sternly tell the human race to clean up our act.
Then there are visitors of the sort we see in Earth vs. the Flying Saucers (1956), who pilot the death-ray-vomiting crafts of the title, and eventually lay waste to Washington D.C.
But then there are the sort of visitors who prefer to keep on the down-low, the sort whose saucers are only witnessed accidentally, out in the boondocks, where, as Jay Leno used to put it, “Bob Bookey and his Cousin Weenie” are fishing. Leno’s theory was that these visits were bathroom breaks: “If you’re traveling the universe, coming to Earth is like stopping at Stuckey’s.”
Anyway, movies and TV shows in this category are the true UFO movies, heavy on the “U.” They exploit not only the thrill of an encounter with otherworldly beings, but also the isolation of being disbelieved, or the paranoid terror of being at odds with a government cover-up.
A new entry in this UFO genre opens this weekend: Phoenix Forgotten, a found-footage chiller inspired by the famous Phoenix Lights phenomenon of March 13, 1997 — sort of a sci-fi spin on The Blair Witch Project. So to welcome it, let’s take a look at some of its more memorable predecessors.
1. The Flying Saucer The term “flying saucer” was popularized in the wake of pilot Kenneth Arnold’s reported sightings in 1947, and gradually came to be applicable to any UFOs, even if they weren’t actually saucer-shaped. This low-budget 1950 melodrama was probably the first to cash in on the craze, but — spoiler alert! — the vehicle in question turns out to be of earthly origin: a secret experimental aircraft developed by a scientist, and coveted by Commie agents. It is, however, a pretty cool retro-looking saucer, sort of like a metallic horseshoe crab. Producer-director-star Mikel Conrad, who also concocted the story, added a note in the credits suggesting the film was showing something classified: “We gratefully acknowledge the cooperation of those in authority who made the release of the ‘Flying Saucer’ film possible at this time.”
2. Invasion of the Saucer Men Paul Fairman’s short story “The Cosmic Frame” was about aliens who frame a guy for a hit-and-run in order to discredit his account of their presence on Earth.This tongue-in-cheek 1957 screen adaptation features iconic, bulbous-brained, irritable-faced little aliens — creations of the great ‘50s-era monster designer Paul Blaisdell — shooting their witnesses up with alcohol from their pointy fingers, thus either killing them or rendering them too drunk to believe.
3. The Bamboo Saucer The title craft isn’t made of bamboo, but it’s hidden in a remote temple in China, so, you know, bamboo. It could as well have been titled The Kung Pao Saucer. Even though it is an alien spaceship in this 1967 effort, the conflict still derives from the Cold War. The aliens who brought it to Earth are already dead, and American and Soviet scientific-military teams are competing to get their hands on it. There’s a thawing of international relations as the two sides team up, and the studly U.S. pilot (John Ericson) and the hottie Soviet scientist (Lois Nettleton) fall in love. The highlight of the dialogue comes when the scientist, having activated the saucer’s gravitational field, cries out “Ve vill be skvooshed, like bugs!”
4. The Invaders This TV series (ABC, 1967-1968), created by Larry Cohen for Quinn Martin Productions, had a particularly seamless conspiracy-theory premise: In the first episode, hero David Vincent, lost on a lonely country road, sees a flying saucer land near an abandoned diner. It turns out be part of a fleet belonging to the title aliens, refugees “from a dying planet” who have taken human form to infiltrate human society, in order to take over Earth. Whenever an individual invader was killed, its body would vaporize, thus destroying the evidence. Vincent thus becomes an itinerant hero, a la David Janssen in The Fugitive, traveling from one set of guest stars to the next every episode, now and then convincing a few people that he’s right. The Invaders are imperfect human knockoffs, however. Most of them have a “tell”: their pinky fingers are rigid! There’s something marvelous about the idea that the aliens have perfected not only interplanetary travel but human duplication, yet they find it tricky to bend the pinky finger.
5. UFO: Target Earth Shot in Georgia, this 1974 low-budgeter features a young researcher (Nick Plakias) who makes contact with a spaceship submerged in a remote lake. The pure-energy aliens therein are depicted via electronic special effects reminiscent those near the end of Kubrick’s 2001, though more primitive — many of them now look like Spirograph designs. Also like Kier Dullea in 2001, our hero here ages rapidly under the influence of the aliens, ultimately looking very peaked indeed. Make no mistake, this is a terrible, slow-moving film, but having seen it at a theater when I was 12, I can attest that it has a strange, creepy atmosphere that can stick in your head. For decades. Maybe it has to do with the spooky, pretty Mystic-Tides-ish theme song, “Between the Attic and the Moon.”
6. Liquid Sky It’s pretty likely that no UFO movie has ever had quite as much hipster cred as this 1982 indie, a hilarious but also harrowing take on the drug-fueled ‘80s New York club-fashion scene from Russian expat director Slava Tsukerman. The dinner-plate-sized flying saucer that lands on the roof of a Manhattan apartment building contains an alien — represented by electronic effects similar to those in UFO: Target Earth — attracted to areas with lots of heroin. The alien pilot starts observing a resplendent club model (Anne Carlisle) and feeding on the opiate-like brain secretions of her lovers during orgasm, causing the orgasmic person to die of a crystal spike to the head. After this their bodies disintegrate, like in The Invaders. “Orgasms are dangerous,” concludes one observer.
7. The Search for Simon The searcher is David, a fortyish, unemployed “ufologist.” Simon is the younger brother, absent since they were kids, who David is convinced has been abducted by aliens. David’s spent his whole adult life, and most of a substantial lottery windfall, traveling the world to supposed UFO hotspots from Denmark to Utah, or paying shady-seeming contacts for supposed leads to Simon’s whereabouts. He’s tried repeatedly, without success, to get into Area 51. His few friends, hopeless geeks themselves, are sick of his fixation, as is his careworn mum. David is played, well, by Martin Gooch, who also co-wrote and directed this low-budget Brit comedy of 2013. Gooch freely mixes a Monty Python/Douglas Adams/Simon Pegg style of silliness with a poignant backstory. The poignancy wins here, partly because the variable quality of some of the acting dulls the edge of the comic timing in the ensemble scenes, but also because — spoiler alert! —said backstory is really quite sad. Python alumna Carol Cleveland, playing David’s mother, is given full-on tragic exposition to deliver, and does a creditably touching job of it. But the seriousness of this side of the material gives an uneasy tinge to the jolly side.
