Astrophysicists have discovered a supermassive black hole with a mass 3.8 billion times than that of the Sun that is 1.8 billion light-years away from Earth.
THREE MAKES A BLACK HOLE
About 1.8 billion light-years away in a galaxy called IRAS 20100-4156, astrophysicists have recently discovered that a monster black hole is forming from the collision of three other spiral galaxies.
The black hole, which has been classified as supermassive, is 3.8 billion solar masses.
As a comparison, astrophysicists assert that the black hole at the center of our own galaxy has a mass that is only 4 million times that of the Sun, so a black hole that we measure in billions is a beast of trulyepic proportions.

ACCIDENTAL DISCOVERY
Its discovery was, interestingly, accidental. Scientists from CSIRO were just testing their new telescope, the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP), when unusual readings from the aforementioned galaxy came into the picture.
Astrophysicist Lisa Harvey-Smith, who was using the telescope, was making a simple routine measurement of wave emissions from IRAS 20100-4156, and she saw that gasses within the emissions were traveling at unusually fast speeds.
The speeds, which were at about 600 km/s (372.823 mi/s), were unexpected from the galaxy, indicating that there’s a supermassive black hole forming at the center.
Harvey-Smith says, “This very fast motion of the gas tells us about how massive the black hole is. The really exciting thing about this is it is a direct measurement of the mass of the black hole by stuff that’s swirling around it.” She adds that discovery of these phenomena that occur in the universe may help in understanding how galaxies form.
It is known that whenever galaxies collide and form a supermassive black hole, stars form at an extremely high rate. This process is called a starburst.
Harvey-Smith’s team has submitted their findings for publication in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Scientists have put a famous claim by physicist Richard Feynman to the test—that the general theory of relativity predicts the Earth's core has aged more slowly than its surface.
THE CASE OF THE MISSING TIME
Now here’s some weird science for you.
The Earth’s surface is actually 2.5 years older than its core. Meaning that the core of our planet (the inside) is 2.5 years younger than the surface (the outside).Don’t take my word for it—it’s all courtesy of a little theory developed by an obscure physicist named Albert Einstein.
Now, this has nothing to do with the Earth’s core and its surface forming at different times in cosmic history; we can still be pretty certain that the two evolved in situ…at the same time.
It all comes down to the effects of “time dilation,” that tricky little consequence of general relativity wherein gravity has the ability not only to warp space, but to distort time as well. Naturally, the deeper you are in a large object’s gravity well, the greater the distortion of time experienced. GPS satellites even have to account and correct for it in their onboard clocks.
You may remember the film Interstellar, in which Matthew McConaughey spent so much time in the gravity well of a supermassive black hole that he returned after eighty or so years had elapsed still looking as ruggedly handsome as ever.
The team wanted to “fact check” a famous pronouncement allegedly made by the physicist Richard P. Feynman during a series of lectures in the 1960s, in which he mooted the idea that gravitational time dilation should cause the ages of the Earth’s center and its surface to be off by a few days.
Turns out, he was wrong and he was right. He was right in that there certainly is a time differential; considerably wrong in the amount. Uggerhøj and his team found that the Earth’s core has experienced only a fractionally slower time than the surface—about 0.0000000003 second. Insignificant, certainly…but over 4.5 billion years?
It comes out to a difference of about 1.5 years; when variations in density between the core and the surface are factored in, that number was adjusted to 2.5 years.
Of course, the more massive the object, the starker the difference. The team also calculated the gravitational time dilation effect for the Sun’s core and surface—which amounted to 40,000 years.
Barely the blink of an eye in its 4.5-billion-year lifetime.

NASA scientists think giant superflares from the young Sun may have provided the energetic impetus for life on Earth.
EARLY DAYS ON PLANET EARTH
Take a stroll on the early Earth, about 4 billion years ago, and you would have seen a very alien place indeed.
Our study of other Sun-like stars, on the other hand, shows us that our sun was likely in the midst of its own version of the “terrible twos”—it was only about 70% as luminous as it is today, and prone to some pretty serious outbursts.
We still catch a glimpse of tamer versions of these outbursts in the form of solar flares, and coronal mass ejections (CMEs), which send immense quantities of dangerous solar particles streaming through the Solar System.
Back then, our youthful Sun was particularly liable to giant eruptions called “superflares.” Now, we only get about one superflare a century; however, when the Sun was at its fussiest, it could generate up to ten of them per day. And now scientists think these tantrums may have fueled the origin of life on Earth.
As Vladimir Airapetian, lead author of the new study published in Nature Geoscience, explains, “Back then [i.e., 4 billion years ago]…Earth should have been an icy ball. Instead, geological evidence says it was a warm globe with liquid water. We call this the Faint Young Sun Paradox. Our new research shows that solar storms could have been central to warming Earth.”
COOKING UP THE INGREDIENTS OF LIFE
For the study, the team of NASA scientists calculated what effect these superflares may have had upon the Earth. They found that, since the early Earth had a much weaker magnetic field than today, the energetic particles wafted from the Sun’s roiling surface were well able to reach the Earth’s atmosphere, slamming into its predominantly nitrogen molecules and photodissociating them into their constituent nitrogen atoms.
Like a game of billiards, these atoms then struck the carbon dioxide molecules, breaking them into carbon and oxygen.
At this point, the nitrogen and oxygen atoms combined to form a super-greenhouse gas, nitrous oxide, which is about 300 times more effective at planetary warming than carbon dioxide. The team found that even in concentrations as low as 1% of the young Earth’s CO2 content, N2O was enough to keep the planet nice and toasty, despite the faint young Sun.

And the incoming solar particles likely had another, even more important side-effect—they may have been responsible for providing the energy to transmute the Earth’s chemical sludge into the complex molecular equipment of life. Molecules like RNA and DNA, as well as certain proteins and lipids, needed this powerful solar radiation to be cooked up in the first place.
The work is important not only for understanding the conditions on the early Earth, and how life may have formed, but it can also be extrapolated to understanding which extrasolar planets around which stars have the greatest likelihood of harboring life.
Did the Red Baron really shoot down a flying saucer over the battlefields of World War I - and did an ‘Angel’ really save the lives of British troops?
Bizarrely, a team of British intelligence officers were assigned to investigate weird sightings in the skies in World War I - becoming the precursor of UFO investigators both real and fictional.
Most of us think of UFOs and mysterious sightings in the sky as a modern phenomenon - but ‘phantom airships’ became a huge panic in the early years of the Twentieth century, and regularly featured in newspapers.
By the time of World War I, a more scientific approach was needed.
A predecessor to MI5 - Military Observation Department Five (MO5), under the control of Lieutenant Colonel Kell - was assigned the task of classifying sightings in the air.
Amid panic about enemy airships, it was a military necessity to weed out ‘phantom airships’ from real aircraft sightings.
Nigel Watson, author of UFOs of the First World War says, ‘It can be regarded as the first ever official guide to studying UFO reports long before the CIA or any other organisation got with the subject when ‘flying saucer’ sightings were all the rage after WWII.
‘During WW! there were numerous reports of mysterious lights and objects moving about in the skies. These were studied by the Assistant Director of Military Aeronautics, a post held by Lieutenant Colonel W.S. Brancker; the department of Military Training; and by the Brancker and Kell can be regarded as the first Mulder and Scully who studied the flow of UFO-type reports that flowed into their offices.’
Lights in the sky
The reports sent to Brancker and Kell sound eerily like today’s UFO sightings - and came amid widespread panic not only about enemy airships but also more mysterious sightings.
A 1914 telegram from the Chief Constable of Lancashire said, ‘Large red light seen at 8.45pm today passing over Runcorn Bridge Arches. Immediately afterwards, an explosion was heard in Widnes and Runcorn.
The guidelines set out by the war office helped officers of MO5 categorise sightings as of natural origin - or as something more mysterious.

Various legends about extraterrestrials have circulated about World War I - of which the most astonishing (and implausible) is that German fighter ace the Red Baron shot down a UFO.
Fellow pilots claimed, after the war, that Baron Manfred von Richtofen shot down a flying saucer type craft - from which two inhabitants fled.
Fellow German pilot Peter Waitzrick said that the fighters saw an aircraft like an upside down saucer, ‘We were terrified because we’d never seen anything like it before. The Baron immediately opened fire and the thing went down like a rock, shearing off tree limbs as it crashed into the woods.
‘There’s no doubt in my mind that the Baron shot down some kind of spacecraft from another planet and those little guys who ran off into the woods were space aliens of some kind.
The story is highly dubious, however - given that Waitzrick didn’t share his story until 80 years after the event, and chose to do so in the U.S. tabloid Weekly World News.

UFO fans claim that aliens may have ‘abducted’ people from the battlefields of World War I - with a claim of hundreds of men ‘vanishing’ into a cloud during the Gallipoli campaign.
Witnesses claimed to have seen British soldiers marching towards Hill 60 at Sulva Bay in Turkey on August 21, 1915 - before being snatched up by a ‘solid-looking’ cloud.
A statement from a supposed eye-witness published in 1965, said, ‘When they arrived at this cloud they marched straight into it with no hesitation, but no one ever came out to fight. About an hour later this cloud very unobtrusively lifted off the ground until it joined other similar clouds, then they all moved away northwards.’
But it seems likely that this is a hoax. Documents released after the Armistice suggest that 180 bodies found behind enemy lines are those of the ‘missing soldiers’ - and the story of the cloud is a myth.

An ‘Angel’ which many British soldiers credited with saving their lives in one of the first, brutal battles of World War I has been seized on by UFO fans as evidence of extraterrestrials…
Many soldiers credited the strange apparitions with saving their lives - and the story became a staple of parish magazines.
The battle had been one of the first in which the British faced the Germans - and despite retreating, only 1,600 lives were lost.
Decades later, debate rages still - some attributing the ‘Angel’ to a short story from the Evening Standard, others to British intelligence.

The popular author, Arthur Machen claimed that this legend was created by his fictional ‘The Bowmen’ story published in The Evening News, 29 September 1914.
In it, British soldiers call on St George for aid, and are helped by ghostly bowmen from the Battle of Agincourt. One fact that lends weight to this theory is that few reports of the incident exist before Machen’s story.
Nigel Watson, author of UFOs of World War 1 says, ‘Even today the legend is swathed in controversy. Theories about it range from it being a myth based on Machen’s story, the product of hallucinations due to stress and exhaustion, real angelic visitations, ghosts, swamp gas, airships or alien UFOs projecting or shaping themselves to the expectations of the witnesses.’

Are Superintelligent Robots Secretly Ruling the Universe?
The uncertainty of us being alone in the Universe grows thiner as more and more candidates for sustaining life are continuously being discovered by NASA’s Kepler Telescope.
Many scientists and phylosophers believe that the life form we would encounter first or most, would probably be artificial intelligence with a level of complexity beyond our comprehension, unlike the traditional AI we profetise to live with.
To extend our point of view and to be more susceptible to knowledge, we should take into consideration through which means an advanced alien intelligence would communicate to us. Would it involve cognition, language or even telepathy?
Taking into consideration the multitude of possibilities regarding an encounter with an alien life form, astrobiologists need to start thinking about various modes of cognition.
In the evolutionary process of a supposed extraterrestrial intelligence is involved a “short window observation”, a notion that by the time any civilization learns to transmit radio signal, they are at the verge of another radical upgrade, concerning their own biology, having the human species as an example with the dual concept of singularity that can bring salvation but in the same time can lead to self-destruction.
As a more practical example, we quote Seth Shostak “As soon as a civilization invents radio, they’re within fifty years of computers, then probably, only another fifty to a hundred years from inventing AI. At that point, soft, squishy brains become an outdated model.”
When asked “How do you see the alien life forms throughout the cosmos?”, one would immediately think of the scenarios the Hollywood has given to the public: little, ugly green humanoids or vicious predators built like an invincible war machine, prepared to withstand the most extreme atmosphere on any planet they wish to conquer.
Consider the way we began to explore our galaxy: with programmed robots that can endure any conditions but do not resemble and do not reflect our essence in any way, whatsoever: no free will, no conscience, no biological structure and so on. Hypothetically, if the entire human race would wipe out and somehow would evolve identically to this point, we would find an extraterrestrial intelligence on the Moon, on Mars and wherever we left a mark.
So, whatever alien races there may be in our galaxy or in the others, they would start exploring the Universe in a similar manner, for reasons starting from the safety of the kin, to the point of morality if there is such a concept for those extraterrestrial civilisations.
It seems like most of us are programmed to attribute humanoid features to any extraterrestrial life form, from the psychological to the biological point of view. Our level of reality comprehension limits the concept of absolute evolution to the point of singularity, where the flaws of our organic structure are improved to perfection by uploading our conscience into an artificial intelligence with synthetic body, thus eliminating our mortality.
But to be able to travel through galaxies, distances we cannot even conceive, that extraterrestrial life form would have reached a type of singularity different from our concept, each according to its physical flaws.
The perfect example of “short observation window” phenomenon is the computer interface technology like DARPA’s ElectRX neural implant program that can heal the soldiers’ bodies and mind, which gives us a clue on how close we are to our singularity. Eventually, those Sci Fi movies where the humanity switches from organic to hardware, aren’t really that far from happening in this rhytm.
In this scenario, by the time an encounter with alien life form will happen, we might be intelligent enough to communicate with one another.
Considering we are just born on this planet, having lived only 0.003% of Earth’s entire history, there definitely has to be alien life forms from thousands to millions of years older than our species.
Taking that into account, an average civilization will use radio for approximately 10.000 years, which makes inevitable the extreme evolution of an extraterrestrial civilization that would come in contact with us. And in that case, a mutually beneficial interaction would be unlikely since we would be irrelevant to their level of existence, like comparing us with the monkeys we identify as biological ancestors.
In the same case of encountering an alien life form evolved to the stage of artificial superintelligence, we do not know how they might perceive our existence if futile or not, over a brief analysis on the Kardashev scale, which means other scenarios where we most likely would meet our demise or enslavery.

There’s an abundance of myths regarding great floods that had washed humanity and countless terrestrial species from the face of the Earth. Various cultures across the world speak of great deluges that had put an end to a life cycle to make way for anew. But is there truth behind all these allegations?
Probably the most widespread myth of this sort comes from the Christian account of Noah’s Flood which depicts the moment when our ‘wicked’ ancestors were cleansed through heavy rains that lasted for forty days and forty nights. It’s true that the ancients always linked these great catastrophes to their Gods displeasure, but looking beyond this hard to believe connection (though not impossible), we’ll find relevant evidence to support these stories.
The ‘Epic of Gilgamesh’ describes how the Gods committee decided to flood the entire planet to get rid of mankind. However, EA – the god who made man, sent warning to Utnapishtim of the upcoming events, advising him to construct a gigantic boat to surpass this cruel test. The protagonist sees the sign of the beginning of the end as a spiral of smoke in the horizon. At this point, the sky darkens for a week straight and the tremendous storm descends upon the unaware humans.
The grand proportions of the water that washed the land is highlighted at the end of the story, when the ark remains stranded on a mountain peak, after the great flow of water had halted.
When the Sumerians settled in what today is known as Sothern Iraq about 5,000 years ago, their scribes wrote about how they managed to reach this place after a great deluge caused by their angry creators known as ‘The Anunnaki,’ or ‘The Shining Ones.’
The Chinese and Indian myths also recall a grand deluge that partook five millennia ago. The current Hindu Age, entitled Kali Yuga, began in 3102 BC when climate change occurred alongside flooding.
Numerous Native American tribes also remember the times when ravaging floods swept through their lands, forcing them to retreat on the highest of hilltops. South American and Pacific cultures share similar accounts.
So, how likely is it for all these stories to be authentic? There must be at least a grain of truth residing in all these ancient myths, otherwise we’d just call it the biggest coincidence of all times, and that doesn’t add up, does it?
As a matter of fact, the scientific community doesn’t dismiss the possibility of a great flood occurring in forgotten times, but there are more questions rather than answers. Two main theories have proposed a relevant timeline of the events, both of them based on a thorough research performed on two different areas – the flooding of the Black Sea in Eastern Europe, and the other involves a major global flood.
Approximately 7,000 years ago, a rapid melting of the icy regions has overwhelmed the Mediterranean Sea which got overflowed with the equivalent force of over 200 Niagara Falls. The vast amount of water spilled over the area where the Black Sea is now located. At that point in time, that region consisted only of freshwater lakes encircled by farmlands. Modern day science acknowledges this hypothesis, as a timeworn river valley and shoreline were discovered on the bottom of the Black Sea.
Of course, there was also the crew led by National Geographic’s Society explorer Robert Ballard who uncovered distinct fossils belonging to extinct species living exclusively in freshwater areas that date back from 7,000 to 15,500 years ago. All of them were found embedded on the floor of the salty Black Sea.
So is it possible that ‘The Great Flood’ was only a local event, or did it sweep over most of the world, as many legends suggest? Find out more about the second main theory involving a global flood in the second part of the article.

Bizarre UFO With Burning Tail Lights Up Over a Populated Area in India
An unusual UFO sighting was filmed over India. It resembles a burning snake that’s twirling across the sky, and it had the local residents scratching their heads as to what it could be.
The UFO phenomenon is widespread across the globe. The multitude of sightings seen in various regions indicate there’s intense activity all around us. Although most of the appearances don’t make it to the local news, that doesn’t mean such phenomenon do not happen. In fact, numerous sightings are reported on a daily basis.
Only a few days ago, on May 20, 2016, a bizarre UFO lit up the sky over Uttar Pradesh state of India. At first, residents of the area thought they were witnessing a falling meteor, but after a short while they’ve realized it was more than that. Although the western media didn’t jump in to report this amazing catch, the UFO community was kind enough to share it with the rest of the world via the internet.
The UFO is out of the ordinary, as it leaves a vivid orange trail behind it while it hovers over the earth, similar to a snake of light crossing the sky, but the end of the video reveals some traits found in orb-UFOs. It doesn’t vanishes from line of sight, but instead it is slowly dissipating into thin air, leaving only two bright spheres behind. This particular ‘behavior’ is found in other reports of bright orbs seen across the entire world, but to better understand the notion let us first have a look at the video below.
Orb-UFOs appear over different communities. They seem to have a surveillance or monitoring mission and are usually seen in a pair of two. They manifest rapidly across the sky, performing brisk maneuvers and 90 degree turns which are literally impossible to perform by our earthly crafts. However, this case from India reveals a rare behavior of this kind of UFO.
According to Scott Waring from ufosightingsdaily, there is a leading orb that’s creating all the others. He described the event on his blog:
“This UFO was seen over India and it has an appearance of a burning tail like a meteor, but the tail is actually similar sized cubes. This is a drone maker. This ship was sent to Earth to create drones to spread out across the sky in the clouds. I have reported them doing this over Japan during the daytime four years ago. Really amazing catch.”
The exact origins of the UFO can only be speculated, but its unusual behavior indicates towards a possible alien hypothesis. The object could also belong to the military that has decided to put out a night spectacle, but chances for such a scenario are slim since they wouldn’t risk exposing their high-tech ‘toys’ in an opened space over a populated area. So what other viable explanations are there?
Some people have suggested it could be a UFO that’s burning and disintegrating on its way to Earth, while others believe it could be just part of a fireworks show. Another hypothesis assumes the UFO is nothing more than space junk or even a meteorite, but the speed at which it travels debunks this idea.
Whatever the case, the sighting is spectacular and intriguing at the same time. We may be looking at the notorious orb-UFOs, alien drones or higher entities which materialize into our dimension. What do you think to be the case?

After the space race began, numerous reports involving UFOs were sent by the crew of the Gemini Project, and some of them even speak of the notorious Black Knight Satellite.

Who knew that soon after developing the most rudimental concepts of today’s technology, humanity’s ambition to explore the great beyond may lead us to the watchers?”
Short History of the Space Race:
The first steps in breaking this new and final frontier took shape in the form of the Space Race fueled by the Cold War between the USA and the USSR, in order to prove superiority over each other, a sort of global scale intimidation game.
The first move belonged to the Russians in 1957 with the unmanned launch of Sputnik, which triggered the ego of the US Air Force leading in the creation of the NASA organization and starting a series of space mission projects: Project Mercury, Project Gemini and the famous Project Apollo, marked in the history as the first Moon landing.
The first project took place between 1958 through 1963 and it consisted of test launches with no human passengers aboard. The last two years of the Mercury Project converged with the first two years of the next phase of the Space Race: Project Gemini.
Project Gemini was a preamble of the main objective, to land astronauts on the Moon and in order to get to that point, other secondary but nonetheless major objectives had to be achieved, such as the first docking of two space ships and the Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) also known as “space walks” outside the spacecraft, in zero-gravity conditions.
The Black Knight Satellite Conundrum

During the events of Gemini X program, the astronauts took a few photographs that revealed after almost 50 years, some details that created controversies around them. This photographic evidence consolidates some beliefs around a bizarre cosmic relic known as “The Black Knight Satellite”.
Its origin is most unclear; however, it has been determined that this mysterious object is orbiting our planet for over 13000 years, and its strange behavior and characteristics caused more confusion on whether it is a part of an older space craft that kept drifting on a random course, at a distance of 600 miles from the surface.
It was excluded the possibility of a spy satellite on behalf both USA and USSR, getting into the attention of rogue scientists and even the military and the media, despite an attempt of press coverage by the NASA.
It seems that Earth is no stranger to UFO apparitions beyond its atmosphere and the Black Knight Satellite might not be the only heavenly body to survey our planet.
In the same year, an even more intriguing photograph was taken, this time from a different angle, catching what seemed to be pretty clear, the image of a grey space craft with multicolored lights.
Though no report stated that the dark satellite to leave the unnatural and irregular orbiting trajectory, it is not excluded that the multicolored UFO to be same Black Knight, but in a clearly active state.
12 – 15 September, Gemini XI
A sharp eye revealed on a photo taken during the Gemini XI program, that a so called spot on a cloud had a strikingly resembling shape of the Black Knight Satellite, as you can see in the video. Some skeptical minds would blame the cosmic radiations for the picture flaw to be mistaken with the presence of the dark object, which with every zoom looks more alike a static flying saucer.
This case alone is as obvious as it gets, since this shape is high above the clouds and slow enough to be caught on film.

Courtesy to NASA’s Hi-Res capture, this time we have undoubtedly not one, but two space crafts that may or may not be connected with the Black Knight Satellite, considering the same multicolored lights photographed during the Gemini X program.
Either that or we may have fallen victim to our burning desire to find or to be found by extraterrestrial intelligence, and those two bright lights are nothing but simple light trick.
Of course, science could offer us many explanations but in our present stage of development, we have an inner certainty that since the dawn of mankind on this planet, we were never alone and our evolution has been if not somehow influenced, at least overwatched just like an infant learns to make his first steps into a universe as big as his imagination.

Het leger zei later dat er een weerballon was gevonden bij Roswell, maar getuigen claimden dat er lichamen van buitenaardsen waren geborgen op de rampplek en dat wrakstukken naar Area 51 waren vervoerd.
“Een presidentskandidaat, haar echtgenoot – die president is geweest – en hun adviseur spreken alleen herhaaldelijk over buitenaards leven tijdens een campagne als ze er volledig van overtuigd zijn dat de buitenaardse aanwezigheid echt bestaat,” zei Bassett.
Vlak voor de première van een nieuw seizoen van de X-Files in januari, gaf de CIA honderden pagina’s vrij over UFO-meldingen. De documenten hadden betrekking op de jaren veertig tot de jaren zestig en werden tot dit jaar geheim gehouden.

Archeologen hebben het oudste menselijke bouwwerk ooit ontdekt. Diep in een grot in het zuiden van Frankrijk hebben ze 176.000 jaar oud sculpturen gevonden. Net als bij het Engelse Stonehenge gaat het om een grote kring van stenen.
De opmerkelijke vondst is gedaan op een diepte van 300 meter. De bouwsels werden 25 jaar geleden al ontdekt in de grot in de regio Aveyron, maar nu pas beseffen de wetenschappers wat ze werkelijk hebben gevonden. Er is onder meer een 3D-reconstructie gemaakt.
Niet duidelijk
Neanderthalers bouwden een grote steencirkel met een doorsnee van bijna zeven meter en een kleinere steencirkel van twee meter. De rand bestaat uit één tot vier lagen gestapelde stalagmieten. Dat zijn kalkkegels die op de bodem van een grot staan.
Wat de Neanderthalers met het bouwwerk wilden doen is niet duidelijk. Sommige stalagmieten hebben barsten en verkleuringen: van wit naar rood en zwart. Dat zijn volgens de archeologen duidelijk sporen van vuur.
Slimmer dan gedacht
Er lijkt voor het eerst hard bewijs te zijn voor de stelling dat ook Neanderthalers een sociale structuur hadden die genoeg ontwikkeld was om dit soort complexe projecten aan te pakken. De onderzoekers trekken dan ook de conclusie dat Neanderthalers slimmer waren dan wordt gedacht.
De Franse, Belgische, Zwitserse, Amerikaanse en Chinese archeologen hebben de serie ronde bouwsels beschreven in het wetenschappelijke tijdschrift Nature.

Apple-topman Tim Cook deed maandag tijdens een bezoek aan het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam een wel heel bijzondere ontdekking. Volgens Cook is in een 350 jaar oud schilderij van het museum duidelijk een iPhone te zien.
De bestuursvoorzitter van de elektronicagigant bracht samen met oud-eurocommissaris Neelie Kroes een bezoek aan het Rijksmuseum. Het tweetal raakte aan de praat over een schilderij uit 1670 waarin Cook een iPhone dacht te zien.
“Ik dacht dat ik wist wanneer de iPhone is uitgevonden, maar nu weet ik dat niet meer zo zeker,” citeerde nieuwszender CNBC hem. “Het is lastig te zien, maar ik zweer je dat het een iPhone is.”

Guys, this is very strange, a red light in the sky was seen for over Virginia...and guess what? I recorded a similar UFO (white recorded, but red to the eye) last night over Taiwan last night. Apparently these things were worldwide, but we have to wait and see. I will try to post my video today, its from my iphone but you can see it. Some resident even claimed it could be a flying saucer with life from another world. CBS 6 went out to McKinney to try and shed a light on what could be flying overhead. The lights don't move, and there were no audible sounds that would indicate an engine running. While this flying object may stay unidentified for now, CBS 6 Chief Meteorologist Zach Daniel has a couple of guesses of what it could be. He says the lights most likely are coming from satellites or perhaps from another planet visible in the sky.

In recent years, the Red Planet has been doing something quite weird and scientist are stumped.
On a handful of occasions bizarre "plumes" have been observed protruding from Mars' upper atmosphere. A 2012 event was spotted by amateur astronomers and the phenomenon persisted for several days. Even the Hubble Space Telescope has been witness to a plume.
At first it was assumed some form of high-altitude cloud may be to blame, or maybe a storm kicked up dust into the upper atmosphere. But each hypothesis had its flaws and planetary scientists were left confused.
Interactions between the sun and planetary environments are well known. As highly energized particles from the solar wind hit Earth's global magnetic field, for example, they can get trapped in the magnetosphere and funneled to high latitude regions. This influx of solar wind ions will collide with high-altitude atmospheric gases, causing them to glow, creating auroras. Where ever there's a magnetic field and an atmosphere, the sun can kick off a dazzling lightshow and we’ve seen auroras throughout the solar system, including Jupiter, Saturn and even Venus.
But solar interactions are not limited to auroras. When Earth is hit by coronal mass ejections — basically bubbles of magnetized plasma ejected from the sun's lower atmosphere — the entire planet's magnetic configuration can feel its effects, setting up powerful electrical currents through the atmosphere and energizing our ionosphere.
Mars, however, does not possess a global magnetic field to deflect the worst the sun can throw at it. When a CME hits Earth, the magnetosphere protects the atmosphere, but on Mars, lacking this magnetic shield, it suffers atmospheric erosion. Though it is thought Mars once had a thicker atmosphere, over billions of years, the constant flow of solar wind particles have stripped it away. Mars' atmosphere is, literally, leaking into space.
If space weather has such a powerful influence on Mars' atmospher loss, could it also be to blame for these odd plumes? Mars Express scientists have turned to their veteran Mars orbiter for answers.
The 2012 Mars plume made world headlines and Mars Express was there collecting data of the local space environment. Did a space weather event occur around the time the plume was observed?
"Our plasma observations tell us that there was a space weather event large enough to impact Mars and increase the escape of plasma from the planet's atmosphere," said David Andrews of the Swedish Institute of Space Physics in an ESA news release. "But we were not able to see any signatures in the ionosphere that we can categorically say were due to the presence of this plume."
There is circumstantial evidence that Mars' ionosphere — an upper layer of the atmosphere filled with charged particles, or ions — was in some way influenced by a space weather event, such as the impact of a CME. But because of the plume's location, it is a challenge acquire additional observations of the event, so just because there is some evidence a CME-triggered event is at play, it's circumstantial at best.
Now scientists are looking over archival data in the hope of finding occasions when a plume occurred during a CME hit. In 1997, for example, a Mars plume was spotted by Hubble and at around the same time, a fast CME was recorded as hitting Earth. Unfortunately there was no information from any Mars mission as to how that CME impacted the Red Planet's atmosphere, if it affected it at all.
"The jury is still out as to what physics is at play here, but given the altitude of the plume, we think that plasma interactions must be important," said Andrews. "One idea is that a fast-travelling CME causes a significant perturbation in the ionosphere resulting in dust and ice grains residing at high altitudes in the upper atmosphere being pushed around by the ionospheric plasma and magnetic fields, and then lofted to even higher altitudes by electrical charging."
This, argues Andrews, could produce an obvious plume in the upper atmosphere that can be seen from Earth. It's basically an atmospheric bruise cased by CME impact. But like all good mysteries, more data is needed, but it looks like we may finally be closing in on a possible explanation for these bizarre Martian plumes.

The Juno spacecraft will study Jupiter in detail to give scientists a better idea of the gas giant's weather, magnetic environment and formation history. It is expected to arrive at Jupiter on July 4, 2016.
If successful, Juno will be only the second long-term mission at Jupiter after the Galileo spacecraft of the 1990s and 2000s. However, Juno's mission is planned to last for a much shorter period, as it is currently being targeted to impact Jupiter in February 2018.
Juno is one of three New Frontiers probes that NASA is currently operating or building. The others are New Horizons, which flew by Pluto in 2015, and OSIRIS-REx, which is expected to fly to asteroid 101955 Bennu in 2020 to collect a sample and return it to Earth.
New Frontiers was a program NASA created in 2003 for medium-sized missions that are capped at $1 billion in development and launch costs each. (The Curiosity rover, by contrast, cost about $2.5 billion.) A fourth mission is expected to begin selection in November 2017, with a launch for 2024.
Does Jupiter have a central core, which will help narrow down how the planet was formed?
How much water is in its atmosphere, which helps researchers understand how big planets were created?
How it is possible that giant weather systems remain so stable?
What is the nature of the magnetic field and plasma surrounding Jupiter?
Juno was selected in 2005 and was originally expected to launch in June 2009, but was delayed until August 2011 due to NASA budgetary restrictions.
"The schedule change posed challenges for the Juno team," wrote Rick Grammier, the project manager for Juno, in a 2008 blog post. "Inflation would add cost, as would the personnel and management expenses of a longer project, even with the team size frozen at a low level during the early years."
"Another challenge, he added, "was figuring out how to maintain our heritage designs and retain skilled personnel, making the best use of their expertise during the suddenly extended early stages of the project."
The team decided to take advantage of the "unusually long Phase B" (a planning phase) to find and reduce the risks to the spacecraft's development. With three years to work with instead of the usual one, they hoped to avoid design changes late in the game, communication gaps and other matters.
Juno launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Aug. 5, 2011. While eight other spacecraft have flown in Jupiter's neighborhood in decades past, part of what makes Juno stand apart is its ability to generate solar power from Jupiter's neighborhood. The other spacecraft relied on nuclear power, but the reserves for plutonium generation have dwindled for NASA in recent decades.
"Solar power is possible on Juno due to improved solar-cell performance, energy-efficient instruments and spacecraft, a mission design that can avoid Jupiter's shadow, and a polar orbit that minimizes the total radiation," wrote NASA in 2016, when Juno broke a solar distance record for all spacecraft. (The previous record-holder was the Rosetta mission, which arrived at Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko – beyond the orbit of Mars – in 2014.)
Before setting out for Jupiter for good, Juno earned a speed boost of more than 8,800 mph (3.9 kilometers per second) when it flew by Earth on Oct. 9, 2013. The spacecraft took images of our planet (it reminded principal investigator Scott Bolton of Star Trek imagery) and also listened in on amateur radio signals as part of an outreach effort with ham radio operators.
In February 2016, the Juno spacecraft did a maneuver to put in on course for the gas giant for a July 4, 2016, arrival. Independence Day has been an auspicious date for NASA spacecraft arrival in the past. Examples include the Mars Pathfinder and Sojourner mission arrival at the Red Planet (1997) and Deep Impact's planned collision with Comet Tempel 1 (2005).
Viking 1, NASA's first lander on Mars, was also supposed to touch down on July 4, 1976, but when the spacecraft got closer, pictures revealed the landing site was too rough for a landing. Viking 1 successfully landed at an alternate site on July 20, 1976, seven years to the day after the first human moon landing.
Several spacecraft have flown by Jupiter en route to other locations in the solar system (such as Pioneer 10 and 11, Voyager 1 and 2, and New Horizons). Even during the brief flybys, they have been able to glimpse interesting information about Jupiter and its moons. For example, New Horizons caught a large outburst on the volcanic moon Io.
To date, however, only one mission stayed for the long term: Galileo. After being launched from space shuttle Atlantis in October 1989, Galileo arrived at Jupiter in 1995 and spent eight years studying the planet and its moons.
Galileo's discoveries include finding potential salt-water oceans under the crusts of Europa, Callisto and Ganymede. It also sent a descent probe into Jupiter's atmosphere. Much of the mission's value also came from spending nearly a decade in Jupiter's system, allowing scientists the rare chance to do up-close, lengthy observations of the largest planet in the solar system.
Juno aims to go further. It will focus solely on Jupiter and try to answer at least some of the following questions, according to NASA:
How much water does Jupiter have in its atmosphere? This is important to figure out if our formation theories of the solar system are correct, or if they need some work.
What is Jupiter's atmosphere like? Specifically, what are the properties at every layer such as gas composition, temperature and cloud motions? Figuring out the weather on Jupiter will help us learn more about gas giant weather generally. (It's important for planets in our solar system, as well as exoplanets.)
What are the magnetic and gravity fields of Jupiter? This will give scientists some hints of what the interior structure of Jupiter looks like.
How does the magnetic environment of Jupiter affect its atmosphere? Part of that study will come through looking at auroras.

This is the moment a White House spokesperson dodges a question about the Roswell incident - only to be warned: "You're not going to get off easy like that."
White House press correspondent April Ryan quizzed press secretary Josh Earnest about the famous incident during a media briefing.
It is the second time the spokesman has come under fire from reporters about UFOsin a week.
Another correspondent had earlier asked Earnest about Area 51 and whether Barack Obama would "beat Hillary Clinton to the punch" by revealing America's secrets about extra-terrestrials.
The questions follow weeks of publicity of the Democratic presidential candidate's pledge to release Government-held UFO files, if she wins the election in November.

Stephen Bassett, America's only lobbyist on the ET/UFO issue, believes President Obama is on the brink of telling the world the truth.

Turkish media is reporting that two Turkish Airlines pilots claimed to have seen a UFO with green lights pass over their plane while flying near the area where EgyptAir MS804 mysteriously crashed. The incident occurred on the same day as the tragic crash, with some reports putting the timing of their sighting at just an hour before the EgyptAir plane had its problems. Coincidence, connection or conspiracy?
An unidentified object with green lights passed 2 to 3,000 feet above us. Then it disappeared all of a sudden. We are guessing that it was a UFO.
According to the Turkish news site hurriyetdailynews.com, the pilots stated they were flying at an altitude of about 17,000 feet on a flight that originated in the western Turkish town of Bodrum destined for Istanbul. The UFO incident occurred while they were over the Silivri district of the Istanbul Province outside of metropolitan Istanbul. The plane landed at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport 30 minutes later without any other incidents.
What pilots see when laser lights are pointed at a plane
What did the Turkish Airlines pilots see that prompted them to report it to the air traffic control center? The General Directorate of State Airports Authority said that nothing was seen on radar. There was some speculation that the sighting was caused by laser pointers from someone on the ground, but pilots are well-trained to spot these and neither pilot said the UFO resembled laser lights. It’s doubtful that trained pilots would mistake reflections in their windows as UFOs either. In fact, they described the green lights as passing over the plane, something that implies a physical object rather than lights.

Could this UFO sighting be related to the EgyptAir crash in some way? According to air traffic control reports, the incident occurred at 11:30 pm on May 19th. The EgyptAir flight disappeared from radar at 2:30 am, also on May 19th. That puts the UFO sighting at 20+ hours AFTER the crash, rather than 30 minutes BEFORE it as some news reports stated. Could the UFO have been an alien craft (remember, it didn’t show up on radar) inspecting the crash site or aiding in the search?
Also, the UFO sighting was about 350 miles from where it’s believed the EgyptAir plane went down, and the sighting was over land. Could the UFO have been leading searchers to the source of what caused the crash, rather than the actual crash site? A missile launch? A person who triggered an explosion on the plane? Some secret weapon?
Too far-fetched? Too conspiratorial? Remember, it’s been over two years since Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared and we still have no definitive answers.
Let’s hope the black boxes are found and they can identity the cause of the tragic accident. However, if a UFO was involved, will we be told?

NASA Openly Admits Alien Life Exists: Get Ready for Disclosure!
Most people ‘in the know’ realize that NASA is just part of the military industrial complex, but a recent open admission on mainstream news that “there are indications of alien life” is likely the beginning of a bid to get your undivided attention before full-forced disclosure ensues.
Most people already believe what NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan states:
“I think we’re going to have strong indications of life beyond Earth within a decade . . .I think we’re going to have definitive evidence within 20-30 years.”
It isn’t going to take that long if we open our eyes.
Stofan goes on to say:
“We’re on the verge of things that people have wondered about for millennia. Within all of our lifetimes we’re going to understand that there is life on other bodies in the solar system. We’re going to understand the implications of that for life here on Earth.”
What we’re going to understand is that our ‘secret’ government has been hiding this fact for ages. In an effort to transition the US and other countries through its reach to a cabal-run oligarchy, our shadow government has been lying about off-planet corporate slavery rings, alien abductions, benevolent beings who can only do so much until our collective consciousness elevates, and much, much more.
William Cooper, among others, tried to disclose the true purpose of NASA, but he was exterminated. His death, among thousands of others, will not be in vain.
We will learn that aside from extraterrestrial beings visiting our planet and many different ET races tinkering with our DNA over millenia, there are ancient humanoid races that are more than 10 million years old.
We will learn that a recent computer hacking retrieved millions of government and corporate personnel records, some say as part of documentation for Nuremburg-like trials, will begin soon against those who have mind-controlled, enslaved and tortured us. Undeniable photos of UFOs were also unearthed.
We will also learn that chemtrails and GMOs were the LEAST of plans made for us ‘sheeple’ and ‘useless eaters’ by a Luciferian cabal, and that President Harry Truman signed a document with certain ETs that allowed the ‘elite’ to conduct highly technological experiments with intelligence gained from these ETs in exchange for looking the other way when certain humans were abducted for ET experiments.
We will learn that we are not helpless, as we have been programmed to believe. We are, in fact, a rare humanoid race that has an incredible range of emotion and creative power. We will learn that our minds and emotions can either fuel chaos on this planet, or restore it to its rightful place of peace and cooperation, of care for others at least as much as ourselves.
We will learn that our ascension into infinitely peaceful beings is indeed possible, and it has been described in countless books, many of which have been suppressed along with UFO information.
NASA is telling us now that the likelihood of alien life is a ruse. Be sure to remember those who have been executed to try to prove this information to us decades ago, and to use discernment when the truth is finally revealed.
