The major boost for alien hunters can be exclusively revealed by Express.co.uk on World UFO Day, which campaigners are using to call for the release of all such records globally.
UFO researchers, backed by House of Lords peer, have been fighting for the release of 18 top secret Ministry of Defence (MoD) files about UFO sightings from more than 30 years ago.
The Government faced claims of a cover-up from conspiracy theorists when their release was stalled at the end of 2013.
Some investigators claim the files could provide key evidence of extra-terrestrial life visiting the UK and of specific information about famous controversial sightings such as the Rendlesham Forest incident - a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights and the alleged landing of one or more craft in Suffolk in late December 1980.
Lord Black of Brentwood, who asked the Government for an update through a Parliamentary question, was assured yesterday - the day before World UFO day - the files would be released by the MoD to the National Archives by March next year.
Alien hunters are confident these records could prove if extra-terrestrial life actually exists, as these were the most secretive files held in the private offices of various Cabinet ministers.
Although the files are being released to the National Archives, it is not yet clear when they will be available for public inspection.

In his Parliamentary question, Lord Black asked: "In relation to the 18 Ministry of Defence files on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) that have yet to be released to the public, what is the originating division of the file reference M9/18; what is the remit of that division in relation to UAP; and what is their latest estimate of when the 18 files will be passed to the National Archives, and then released to the public."
Defence Minister Earl Howe replied: "The originating branch of file reference MO9/18 relates to ministers' private offices. The latest estimate of when the 18 files will be delivered to the National Archives is before March 2016.
"The National Archives will make the necessary judgement about when they release these files to the public."

The UK "X-Files" are being released
A number of older UFO files held by the UK government have already been released, including details of sightings by officials and police.
Nick Pope, who used to investigate the existence of UFOs for the MoD, said the files should contain some fascinating sightings.
However, referring to what is often called the most famous UFO claim in history - sparked by claims an alien spaceship crashed in New Mexico, US, in 1947 - Mr Pope added the soon-to-be-released files are probably not a "UK Roswell-style UFO in a hangar style cover up".
When the release of the files were stalled in 2014, which the MoD blamed on "additional processing requirements", Mr Pope sympathised with alien researchers.
He said at the time: "This massive delay will have conspiracy theorists up in arms. It looks like the MoD is stalling.
"The suspicion will be that there's a bombshell in these files and that the Ministry does not know how to handle it.
"I can understand why conspiracy theorists will be angry and suspicious."
Mr Pope worked at the MoD for 21 years, but was specifically assigned to investigate UFOs for a three-year period.
He told Express.co.uk today: "Coincidentally, to World UFO Day, the government just announced the date for the release of the final batch of Ministry of Defence UFO files.
"The fact that there is a World UFO Day shows the public's ongoing fascination with one of the great mysteries of our time. Having worked on the MoD's UFO project I'm sorry to say that we don't have any crashed spaceships hidden away in some RAF hangar, as some believe, but we do have some fascinating and unexplained cases in our files."

Today's World UFO Day is the fifteenth to be held on the anniversary of the Roswell mystery, when a UFO was alleged to have crashed near Roswell in New Mexico in July 1947, before being squirelled away by the military with aliens still inside the craft.
It is then claimed officials covered up the spacecraft's crash as being a downed weather balloon.
The 'Redlesham Forest incident', which is alleged to have taken place near RAF Woodbridge, Suffolk, in 1980, saw US Airman First Class John Burroughs, who was stationed there, exposed to radiation after a mystery "UFO visitation".
He has since won damages from the American military, but still wants answers about what happened and hopes they will be in the new files.

Pat Frascogna, his lawyer, said: "We know there is information contained in these MoD files about the Rendlesham Forest incident because the MoD clearly indicated so in responding to a Freedom of Information request by John Burroughs last year."
UFO hunters are keeping their eyes firmly on the skies today and tonight to celebrate the global fascination with the flying saucer.
According to the World UFO Day website, it is dedicated to "raising awareness about the undoubted existence of UFO’s and with that intelligent beings from outer space."
It is also part of a campaign to get international governments to "declassify" their so-called confidential "X-Files" on UFO sightings throughout their history.

The files cover alien ‘visits’ such as the Rendlesham Forest Incident in 1983, U.S. Army personnel stationed near Rendlesham in Suffolk saw a strange, metallic triangle which was ‘dripping molten metal’ - and witnessed a light like a ‘huge red eye’.
Unlike most UFO sightings, it was documented in voice recordings from senior American soldiers, who also drew disturbing pictures of the object they saw.
One witness claimed to have telepathically ‘received’ a binary code, which has never been deciphered.
Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, said, ‘Its great that these files will be released but I’m reliably informed that some contain duplicates of documents already made available to the public. It seems very unlikely they will not contain anything like the type of evidence UFO supporters yearn for, like crashed saucers or interviews with aliens.
‘Up to now literally thousands of UK government UFO have been released. In 2005, after years of denial, the government admitted it conducted a thorough scientific study of UFOs, which concluded that unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs, do exist, but not flying saucers.
‘An unnamed security contractor carried out the study on behalf of the Defence Intelligence Staff, section DI55, based in Whitehall, London. Codenamed Project Condign, the study was started in December 1996 and completed four years later in March 2000. The findings were published in a four-volume, 460-page report, titled "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in the U.K. Air Defence Region."
‘Only 11 copies of the report were produced, and they were circulated to a restricted number of high-ranking Royal Air Force and defence ministry officials. It was so secret that not even the Ministry of Defence's UFO department or the government ministers in charge of the defence ministry were made aware of it.
‘It concluded some sightings were possibly of rare atmospheric phenomena -- pockets of electrically charged plasmas forming in the atmosphere. The plasmas would appear as bright, fast-moving UFOs to observers, but be invisible to radar.
‘At least 10,000 UFO reports collected by the US, Project Blue Book, have been put online and many other governments have released their UFO files. So we have an embarrassment of riches yet these have been largely ignored by UFO researchers, yet they could provide lots of information about types of sightings and their patterns over time and place. Atmospheric mysteries unraveling
The Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy instrument hangs under the wing of a research aircraft. Relying on measurements from the instrument, CIRES Fellow Rainer Volkamer and international colleagues report that halogens, natural chemicals from the ocean, can contribute to much more vigorous atmospheric chemistry than previously understood. The discovery may help explain levels of mercury contamination in the air, on land and in the oceans, and some climate mysteries as well. For a larger version of this image please go here.
Atmospheric mysteries unraveling
It's been difficult to explain patterns of toxic mercury in some parts of the world, such as why there's so much of the toxin deposited into ecosystems from the air in the southeastern United States, even upwind of usual sources. A new analysis led by researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder shows that one key to understanding mercury's strange behavior may be the unexpected reactivity of naturally occurring halogen compounds from the ocean.
"Atmospheric chemistry involving bromine and iodine is turning out to be much more vigorous than we expected," said CU-Boulder atmospheric chemist Rainer Volkamer, the corresponding author of the new paper published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. "These halogen reactions can turn mercury into a form that can rain out of the air onto the ground or into oceans" up to 3.5 times faster than previously estimated, he said.
The new chemistry that Volkamer and his colleagues have uncovered, with the help of an innovative instrument developed at CU-Boulder, may also help scientists better understand a longstanding limitation of global climate models. Those models have difficulty explaining why levels of ozone, a greenhouse gas, were so low before the Industrial Revolution.
"The models have been largely untested for halogen chemistry because we didn't have measurements in the tropical free troposphere before," Volkamer said. "The naturally occurring halogen chemistry can help explain that low ozone because more abundant halogens destroy ozone faster than had previously been realized."
Volkamer is a Fellow of CIRES, the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, at CU-Boulder and is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. For the new paper, he worked with scientists from the U.S., China, Denmark and England.
The international team relied on a differential optical absorption spectroscopy instruments (DOAS) that Volkamer's research group built to measure tiny amounts of atmospheric chemicals including highly reactive bromine oxide and iodine oxide radicals.
Those radicals are very short-lived in the air, and collecting air samples doesn't work well. DOAS uses solar light, measuring the scattering and absorption of sunlight by gases and particles to identify the chemicals' distinct spectroscopic fingerprints and to quantify extremely small amounts directly in the atmosphere.
Reactions involving those bromine and iodine radicals can turn airborne mercury--emitted by power plants and other sources--into a water-soluble form that can stay high in the atmosphere for a long time. High in the air, the mercury can sweep around the world. Towering thunderstorms can then pull some of that mercury back out of the atmosphere to the ground, lakes or oceans. There, the toxin can accumulate in fish, creating a public health concern.
Volkamer's team's measurements show that the first step in that process, the oxidation of mercury in the atmosphere by bromine, happens up to 3.5 times faster than previously estimated because of halogen sources in oceans. Their work may help explain a mystery: For many pollutants, thunderstorms can rain out the chemicals quickly, so by the end of the storm there's little left in the air. Not so for mercury. Volkamer said its concentration in rainwater remains constant throughout a storm.
"To some extent, because of these halogens, we have a larger pool of oxidized mercury up there," Volkamer said.
Naturally occurring bromine in air aloft illustrates the global interconnectedness between energy choices affecting mercury emissions in developing nations, and mercury deposition in the U.S.
Finally, the measurements will be helpful for climate modelers seeking to improve their understanding of halogen impacts on ozone and other greenhouse gases.
The annual Canadian UFO Survey, prepared by Winnipeg-based Ufology Research, has been collecting data on reports of unidentified flying objects since the late 1980s. Its 25-year analysis of Canadian UFO cases looked at about 15,000 reports from coast to coast, with an average of several hundred per year. Last year, Ufology Research’s 2014 Canadian Survey studied more than 1,000 UFO cases reported in Canada, or almost three cases each day.
But what about Manitoba, by itself?
Last year, in 2014, there were 44 UFO sightings reported in Manitoba. The number per year has varied from as low as only six in 1999 to as many as 124 in 2012. During the 25-year Ufology Research study, covering 1989-2013, there were 1,075 UFO reports from Manitoba.
However, Ufology Research originally had been the local provincial group Ufology Research of Manitoba (UFOROM), created in 1976 through the encouragement of the US-based UFO organization, the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS). Ufology Research thus also had access to the UFOROM cases for analyses.
Although unusual objects in the sky have been seen and reported throughout history, the “modern” UFO era began in 1947 when pilot Kenneth Arnold reported seeing several metallic objects flying over Mount Rainer in Washington. In subsequent years, the then-called “flying saucers” were reported around the globe. Not surprisingly, many sightings were reported in Canada, and many were by observers in Manitoba. The infamous Project Blue Book and related earlier official studies by the US Air Force included many Manitoba reports. Blue Book files have been released to researchers and the Manitoba cases have been extractedIn addition, historical records from newspaper archives, journals and personal diaries have been scoured for reports of unusual aerial objects. These and all other sources were used to add Manitoba reports into a master database for studying what Manitobans have been seeing in the province’s skies.
The oldest account of an odd object over Manitoba took place in the fall of 1792. Explorers David Thompson and Andrew Davy were camped on the shore of Landing Lake, near what is now Thicket Portage. In Thompson’s diary, he recorded that one night he and his companion were surprised by the appearance of a brilliant “meteor of globular form... larger than the Moon.” This object seemed to move directly towards them, descending slightly, and “when within three hundred yards of us, it struck the River ice with a sound like a mass of jelly, was dashed in innumerable luminous pieces and instantly expired.” Thompson noted that the next morning, when they went to see the hole it should have made in the ice, they could not find any sign of the object’s apparent impact on the Earth.
Between then and now, Ufology Research has collected more than 2,000 reports of unidentified flying objects over Manitoba. These reports include observations by people from all walks of life―from farmers, pilots, campers and police. There are reports noted in newspapers, mailed to civilian investigators and posted to Facebook groups. Cases have been obtained from private files, RCMP files, Canadian Forces documents and the National Archives in Ottawa.
It should be emphasized that UFOs classified as Unknown or Unexplained do not imply alien visitation. Each case might have an explanation following further investigation. And of those that remain unexplained, they may remain unexplained, but still are not incontrovertible proof of extraterrestrial intervention or some mysterious natural phenomenon.
The Results
A total of 2,023 Manitoba reports were found in historical records, existing files and modern databases. Of these, most were clustered during the years 1952, 1967, 1975, 1992, 2004 and 2012. Some of these years correspond with UFO report trends elsewhere in the world, although there are some differences.
Breaking down the cases by month, UFO reports peak in Manitoba in July and August, which is what we would expect for a province that has harsh winters. Most sightings occur when the weather is warm and more witnesses are outside, at cottages, campgrounds or when evening sky observing is comfortable.
For the type of UFO reported, the most common was a simple Nocturnal Light (NL) at 54% of the total. This was followed closely by Nocturnal Disc (ND), at 28%. What this means is that at least 82% of all sightings occur at night and that most are simply lights in the night sky. Less than 10% of all cases are Daylight Discs (DD), and are objects reported during the day. Less than 7% of all cases were Close Encounters, where witnesses were within 100 metres of an unusual object
Since previous studies have shown that the density of UFO reports is related to population, it should not be surprising that the largest proportion of Manitoba UFO reports occurred in Winnipeg (38%). However, towns with small populations such as Carman and Sperling made the top five list of UFO “hotspots” in the province, obviously due to the major UFO flap in the Carman area in the 1970s.
The prime time for seeing UFOs in Manitoba was between 10:00 pm and midnight. The average duration of a UFO sighting was about 20 minutes, suggesting that a witness had plenty of time to observe and try and explain the object being observed. Curiously, in cases where the UFO was Unexplained, the average duration of observation is lower, at only about 17 minutes. The average number of witnesses per sighting is 2.08, meaning that the typical case involved two people observing a UFO together
The predominant colour of reported UFOs was white, followed by red, orange and “multicoloured.” The predominant shape reported was “point source” (i.e. a distant light), followed by fireball, sphere and then “irregular.”
For Source of reports, about 37% were reported directly to Ufology Research. National Defence had 8% of the cases, with smaller fractions coming from RCMP, Transport Canada and the National Research Centre in Ottawa. US-based UFO organizations such as MUFON, APRO and NUFORC provided about 25% of the data.

It isn’t going to take that long if we open our eyes.
Stofan goes on to say:
“We’re on the verge of things that people have wondered about for millennia. Within all of our lifetimes we’re going to understand that there is life on other bodies in the solar system. We’re going to understand the implications of that for life here on Earth.”
What we’re going to understand is that our ‘secret’ government has been hiding this fact for ages. In an effort to transition the US and other countries through its reach to a cabal-run oligarchy, our shadow government has been lying about off-planet corporate slavery rings, alien abductions, benevolent beings who can only do so much until our collective consciousness elevates, and much, much more.

We will learn that our minds and emotions can either fuel chaos on this planet, or restore it to its rightful place of peace and cooperation, of care for others at least as much as ourselves.
We will learn that our ascension into infinitely peaceful beings is indeed possible, and it has been described in countless books, many of which have been suppressed along with UFO information.

The photos here displayed are evidence of a "close encounter" between forces of the United States Navy and Unidentified Flying Objects on the "edge" of the Arctic Ocean in March, 1971.
These images were supposedly taken in March, 1971 from a United States Submarine, the USS Trepang (SSN-674), a Sturgeon-class attack submarine.
The official location where the sighting occurred was between Iceland and Jan Mayen island in the Atlantic Ocean. (Jan Mayen belongs to Norway, and is only inhabited by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and the Norwegian military.)
The UFO sighting occurred by accident as the military was in the region on a routine joint military and "scientific" expedition. According to reports, the officer who initially spotted the Unidentified Flying Object was John Kilika using the periscope.
So after looking at the images what are your thoughts? When I first looked at the images I was shocked. I have seen thousands of images of alleged UFOs throughout the years, while some of them cannot be explained in any way, some others are certainly fabricated images.
The images made available by Alex Mistretta have certainly puzzled me and seem authentic. Yet, they seem to resemble the movie "Battleship" at the moment the giant alien ships which were submerged under the ocean, come out underneath the ocean and confront the military.
The USS Trepang sighting will surely become one of the best recorded UFO sightings in history.

July 8, 2015 - Odds are, if you’re familiar with the city of Roswell, N.M., you’re familiar with what happened there on this day, July 7, in 1947: a rancher named W.W. Brazel told Sheriff George Wilcox that he had found something strange on a sheep ranch northwest of the town. After finding bits of rubber, wood, foil, tape and paper in the field, the Sheriff called the local Army air field, which sent Major Jesse Marcel, an intelligence officer, to check it out. Marcel was convinced that Brazel stumbled upon nothing less than the remains of a flying saucer. He told his group commander, who told the press officer on duty, Walter Haut, who sent out a press release. The next day the Roswell Daily Record bore a headline—”RAAF CAPTURES FLYING SAUCER ON RANCH IN ROSWELL REGION”—that instantly turned the town into the nation’s UFO capital.
But there’s a big hitch in that oft-told tale. As TIME reported in an investigation on the 50th anniversary of the incident, the same day that the Daily Record ran the sensational story, it was determined that the litter was from a destroyed weather balloon. The paper printed a follow-up retraction the next day, and Brazel stated that he was embarrassed to have gotten so worked up over nothing.
That should have been that. But not everyone bought the official explanation, as TIME explained in 1997:
Enter Stanton Friedman, a former itinerant nuclear physicist now living in New Brunswick, Canada, who has long been, in his words, “a clear-cut, unambiguous UFOlogist.” In 1978, while waiting in a Baton Rouge, La., television station for an interview, Friedman was told that Jesse Marcel, long retired from the Air Force and living nearby, had once handled the wreckage of a UFO. After quizzing Marcel, who still believed the debris he retrieved was extraterrestrial, Friedman reviewed the old stories about Roswell, painstakingly sought out and interviewed other witnesses, and came to a dramatic conclusion: there had been a cover-up of “cosmic Watergate” proportions. His research and conclusions became the basis of the 1980 book The Roswell Incident, co-written by Charles Berlitz (author of The Bermuda Triangle) and UFO investigator William Moore. Its publication put Roswell back on the map.
The next decades saw the publication of several more Roswell books. Public awareness of the supposed cover-up grew to a point that the Air Force did its own investigation, eventually making public details of a top-secret balloon-tracking project that had been going on during that 1947 period and which they said explained the original wreckage. Others clung to their belief that it was a flying saucer—including Walter Haut. Haut, who died in 2007 without ever giving up on the idea of the alien landing, was one of the founders of the city’s UFO Museum.

Interestingly, 5% of the images of unidentified flying objects across the skies of the United States could never be explained. Here, in this article, we show you the most enigmatic images.
These are considered by many ufologists as the best photographs of UFO's ever taken.
While some of the UFO sightings can be explained by weather phenomena or experimental military craft, other UFO sightings have anything but a rational explanation.
1) This image was taken in 1957 near Edwards Air Force Base in California. In the image we can see a disk-shaped object following a B-47 jet.
2) On the 2nd of February in 1942, a very mysterious event took place in Los Angeles. An Unidentified Flying Object had put on red alert the US Navy. Even though military personnel thought it was a Japanese Spy Plane it turned out to be unidentified. The bright spots seen in the images are exploding anti-aircraft shells that were not able to damage the "object".
3) This image was taken in 1951 in New Zealand. Even though most individuals believe the object in the image to be a genuine UFO, the US Air Force concluded that it was a lenticular cloud. What do you think?
4) A fairly "recent" image taken by a passenger from a flight from Hong Kong to southwest China. A disk-shaped object can clearly be seen near the aircraft. While most skeptics believe it to be a photoshopped image, ufologists state that the image is authentic.
5) This mysterious image is one of the best examples of mysterious objects in the sky. It was taken somewhere in the United States on June 10th 1964. The image was found years later.

Une base de recherche située sur le continent antarctique a été le théâtre d’un étrange phénomène. Au crépuscule, les installations ont été survolées par une orbe lumineuse que certains considèrent comme un OVNI.
Les images ont été filmées le 28 juin au crépuscule, à 04H25 de l’après-midi précisément, sur la base Davis située sur la Terre de la Princesse-Elisabeth.
Réalisée par une webcam, cette séquence laisse apparaître très nettement une sphère très lumineusequi semble survoler la base. Le phénomène peut être observé de manière très fugace sur le timelapse qui était encore disponible mardi matin sur le site web dédié.
Certains passionnés d’ufologie ont dressé un parallèle immédiat entre ce phénomène et le célèbre OVNI de l’esplanade des Mosquée qui aurait été observé en 2011 à Jérusalem, mais dont on a su par la suite qu’il s’agissait d’un hoax.

Astronomers have Discovered A Truly Exotic Star System Of Five Stars
It’s a small point in the constellation Ursa Major but if we could cross the 250 light-years that separate us from it, we would observe a rare spectacle: a quintuple star system (five stars) containing two eclipsing binary stars — it is the first known system of its kind.
If double or even triple stars are common in the galaxy, this one though is very rare, a truly exotic star system. This particular system has no name, just a possible designation to remember: 1SWASP J093010.78+533859.5 (J093010 for short) indicating that it is part of the objects studied by the program SuperWASP (Wide Angle Search for Planets) project, in the Canary Islands and South Africa, to image almost the whole sky looking for exoplanets.
For now, we have not discovered any planets around these five stars, but this does not mean there’s no one there. Dr Marcus Lohr, of the Open University, lead author of the new finding says:
This is a truly exotic star system. In principle there’s no reason it couldn’t have planets in orbit around each of the pairs of stars. Any inhabitants would have a sky that would put the makers of Star Wars to shame. – there could sometimes be no fewer than five Suns of different brightnesses lighting up the landscape.
Days would have dramatically varying light levels as the different stars were eclipsed. They would though miss out on night for a large part of their ‘year’, only experiencing darkness (and a night sky) when the stars were on the same side of their world.
Currently, we have detected ‘only’ five stars. Yet they are worth seeing! The data collected suggests the existence of a contact eclipsing binary — a system in which the two stars are orbiting so close together that they share an outer atmosphere. This means that the two stars share the same binary plane of revolution, indicating that they are probably formed from a single disk of gas and dust; they were born in the same ‘cradle’.
The first pair consists of two stars rather smaller and cooler than our Sun, separated by a distance of three million kilometers (twice the size of the Sun) with a longer orbital period of 8 hours. The second couple is what we call a contact binary. These two stars have a rotation period of less than 6 hours.
The 2 sets of stars are at 21 billion kilometers from each other, or rather larger than the distance between the Sun and Pluto. However, they are gravitationally bound in a single system, as the fifth star, which is up to 2 billion km away from the first binary, but not apparently producing any additional eclipses.
Although these stars are smaller and cooler than the sun the entire collective system is bright enough to be visible, so amateur astronomers with small telescopes should even be able to observe the eclipses for themselves.
By studying this bizarre and rare system, scientists could better understand how stars and planets, including our small and green ‘ball’, came into being.

Specialist researchers of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) believe the black and white images - supposedly taken from the USS Trepang SSN 674 submarine in March 1971 - are evidence of secret US aircraft tests or alien lifeforms looking to carry out an early form of fracking.
Alex Mistretta, a paranormal investigator and author, investigated the images after they first appeared in French paranormal magazine Top Secret following an alleged leaked.
He claimed insiders told him the pictures were taken from the US submarine on its journey between Iceland and Norway's Jan Mayen island in the Atlantic Ocean, with the admiral on board at the time said to be Dean Reynolds.

Others said one of the claimed UFOs looked like the manmade Aereon 26, a US experimental aircraft that was part airship and part conventional aircraft and powered by a piston engine, which was tested in 1971.

Nigel Watson, UK UFO investigator, said: "They are an odd selection of pictures, that feature types of UFOs that have been regularly spotted by witnesses in all parts of the world.
"Airship or cigar-shaped type craft have been reported since 1896 when there was a great wave of 'phantom airship' sightings thoughout the USA.
"This batch of pictures back-ups such claims but I'm not sure about their authenticity.
"They have certainly got UFO researchers scratching their heads and wondering and speculating that UFOs have a base in the Arctic regions."

Around 10 to 20 per cent of these cases turn out to be unidentified when matched up weather phenomenon and man-made objects.

This History Channel documentary took a look at Hangar 1, a facility that houses an archive of more than 70,000 files that have been gathered over a period of nearly 50 years.
The files, maintained by Mufon have recently been opened for investigation.
High-profile sightings last month included one of a 'flying saucer' UFO which visited Stonehenge, according to UFO Sightings Blog.
The site said the UFO was 'black in colour and disc shaped,' and described it as 'medium' size at around 20 to 30 feet (6 to 9 metres) across.
In a separate report a UFO enthusiast claims to have found the wreckage of an alien spaceship in Antarctica.
MAPPING 90 YEARS OF UFO SIGHTINGS
Last month a data visualisation expert created a map of the US showing almost 90 years of official UFO sightings (above), including information such as the time of day they are typically noticed in different months.
The data also reveals that UFO sightings of fireballs are the most common, while egg-shaped craft are the rarest over time.
John Nelson combined census data with statistics compiled between 1925 and 2014 by the National UFO Reporting Centre to make his maps.
'Of course, as is the case for any observation data, there is a strong tendency towards echoing a population map' he wrote on his blog.
'This is certainly the case with this sighting data, as well. In order to visualise the actual sighting phenomenon, I needed to normalise by the underlying population.'
To do this, he created a map showing sightings by population density, as well as maps based on more complex calculations to build the most accurate maps he could.
Using Google Earth, Valentin Degterev zoomed in on a dark area and says that the shape is a clear sign that it is a crashed UFO.
However, an expert has told MailOnline that it is just a shadow caused by a crevasse, while the blue tinge is bare ice.
Marsh said a very high percentage of the June UFO report surge were historical cases.
'People were watching our show and decided they finally discovered a place where they could report their encounter,' he said.
He added that another explanation for the sightings may be that more people were outside celebrating during the evening hours, and looking up for events such as Memorial Day.
'Some of these are very, very interesting and compelling cases currently under investigation,' he added.

EXACTLY 68 years ago today arguably the world's most notorious UFO mystery began after an "object" crashed near a ranch in the desert on the outskirts of Roswell, New Mexico.

Despite countless alien investigators pouring over the "evidence" from the alleged UFO crash which reportedly included aliens, both alive and dead inside the wreckage, the riddle has never been solved.
The story goes that on July 7 1947 rancher W W Brazel told Sheriff George Wilcox he had found "something strange" on his sheep ranch on the outskirts of Roswell.
Mr Brazel stumbled across some rubber, foil, and other debris on the ground and told the Sheriff who alerted the nearby Army base air field.
Major Jesse Marcel, an intelligence officer, was sent to investigate.
Mr Marcel was apparently convinced that the rancher had found the world's first evidence of aliens and what they were looking at were the remains of a flying saucer.
He, in turn, reported this up the chain, prompting duty press officer Walter Haut, at the now notorious Nevada Area 51 base, to send this out in a news release.
The following day's edition of the local paper, the Roswell Daily Record, unsurprisingly had the dream headline: "RAAF CAPTURES FLYING SAUCER ON RANCH IN ROSWELL REGION”.

But next came a big U-turn and still no sign of actual aliens.
Perhaps in 1947 people would have thought a cosmos travelling flying saucer would be made from foil, rubber, tape, paper and wood, as Mr Brazel found.
But the day of the news report, the RAAF retracted its original release and said what was found were the parts of a downed weather balloon.
The paper duly printed a follow-up in which Mr Brazel spoke of his embarrassment to have got "worked up over nothing".
But by now the snowball had started, and it was gathering pace.
No one was interested in the follow up story, and the original first went national and then global, even without the internet, and in Roswell, USA the world's UFO capital was born.
It was also the birth of the conspiracy theorist, whereby the unimaginable is more likely to be the case than the rational.
Instantly, claims were made that the military had found a craft, but they did not want news getting out and the weather balloon story was quickly made up as a cover.

But it appears to have taken several years before the "aliens being found inside" element of the story began.
US magazine Time did an investigation published on the Roswell Incident - as it became known - on the 50th anniversary in July 1997.
It said Stanton Friedman, a former nuclear physicist-turned UFOlogist, was told in 1978 that a now retired Mr Marcel had "once handled the wreckage of a UFO".
Mr Friedman reportedly met Mr Marcel, who remained convinced the debris was a flying saucer.
This sparked him to investigate the 31-year-old case, seeking out other witnesses from the time.
His book - The Roswell Incident, co-written by Charles Berlitz and published in 1980 - saw the mystery revisited many times.
There were many more articles and books, and hoaxers in 1995 released a black and white video showing military medics carrying out a makeshift autopsy on an alien corpse, amid claims it was a leaked genuine recording from the incident in 1947.
This was later proved a hoax, although many conspiracists and UFOers still refuse to accept that.
Allegations of the cover up grew so widespread that the Air Force eventually ran its own probe at the end of which it published previously confidential information about a top-secret balloon-tracking project that had been going at the same time in 1947, which it was said explained the found remains.
It has remained one of the world's biggest conspiracy theories and UFO cases.
Some people have always insisted it was a flying saucer.
Walter Haut died in 2007 insisting that after earlier founding Roswell's UFO Museum which remains open.
One thing seems clear - even if "the truth is out there" believers of the Roswell UFO crash will not go away and theories will continue to abound.
On the alien-ufo-research.com website today under the special Roswell section, it still lists the 1995 hoax footage as being genuine leaked material.
The website says: "Was there a government cover up of a UFO or aliens in the Roswell crash? What exactly went on at Area 51?
"It isn't as widely known, but there were actually two crash sites. Did the government acknowledge the first, only to say it was a high tech weather balloon test that crashed, to divert attention away from a second and more important UFO crash site?
"Why if nothing went on is the crash site and Area 51 still in lock down after many decades. Don't believe everything you are told. Do your research and decide for yourself what really happened that night in Roswell."

Two El Paso residents have reported seeing a UFO in the form of a black cube.
According to Secureteam10, an online entity that posts YouTube videos of purported UFOs and similar phenomena, the cube was seen about mid-day June 29 in El Paso by two people.
A man who was leaving his office about 1 p.m. for lunch said it began to get very windy and he noticed that the center of some swirling clouds became "jet black," Secureteam10 stated in a video made from photos the man took.
Just as the man snapped the photo, a massive, cube-shaped UFO appeared, "jetting out of this worm-hole type manifestation," the video narrator said.
"I am personally at a loss for words because this thing is mind-blowing," the narrator continued. "Not only do we not know what it is -- Is is it a craft, is it an entity from another dimension, is it a probe sent here from a higher intelligence in another galaxy?"

Arnold was er zeker van dat hij getuige was geweest van iets buitenaards. De UFO’s die hij had gezien bereikten snelheden tot 1900 kilometer per uur, zo berekende hij.
In 1978 werd majoor Marcel geïnterviewd door de Canadese kerngeleerde Stanton Friedman. Hij interviewde ook diverse andere getuigen, waarna hij concludeerde dat er sprake was van een doofpotoperatie van ‘kosmische Watergate-proporties’.
Ultrageheim project
Het boek dat Friedman in 1980 publiceerde over het doofpotschandaal veroorzaakte zoveel verontwaardiging bij het publiek dat de Amerikaanse luchtmacht een officieel onderzoek instelde. De luchtmacht stelde dat het object dat bij Roswell was gecrasht onderdeel was van een ultrageheim project.
Veel mensen geloven niet in de verklaring van de luchtmacht. Walter Haut, de man die het oorspronkelijke persbericht schreef en de oprichter van het UFO Museum in Roswell, zei tot zijn dood in 2007 dat het om een vliegende schotel ging.
Van al die verschillende rassen zijn er een zestal die onderling strijden om de heerschappij op deze aarde.
De buitenaardse rassen die controle over de wereld willen, staan in contact met militaire krachten en bepalen voor een deel onze toekomst zonder ons ooit te raadplegen.
De Siriërs
Deze buitenaardsen zijn afkomstig van het Sirius B sterrenstelsel. Het is een zeer oud ras, maar ook één die heel ver gevorderd is. Door de geschiedenis van de mensheid hebben ze hun kennis met bepaalde menselijke beschavingen gedeeld. Zoals de Egyptenaren met medische en astronomische informatie en er wordt gezegd dat de grote piramides en tempels met hun hulp zijn gebouwd.
Ook de Maya’s hadden een speciale band met de Siriërs en ook met deze beschaving hebben zij hun kennis gedeeld. Er wordt gezegd dat de Siriërs een rol hebben gespeeld in de verdwijning van de Maya’s, maar niet zonder het achterlaten van bepaalde voorwerpen zoals de kristallen schedels.
Een andere aardse beschaving die heeft geprofiteerd van de Siriërs waren de inwoners van Atlantis. Men vermoedt dat de Siriërs een grote rol hebben gespeeld tijdens de reddingsoperaties toen Atlantis begon weg te zinken. Een andere nog steeds bestaande beschaving die beïnvloed is door de Siriërs is de Dogon stam uit West Afrika.
Alhoewel ze in het verleden een grote rol hebben gespeeld op aarde is die tegenwoordig wat meer subtiel. Ze worden nu vaak genoemd in verband met onderzoek naar exotische wapens en het experimenten met tijdreizen.
De kleine Grays.
Deze groep buitenaardsen behoort tot de meest bekende en zij zijn het die meestal worden afgebeeld wanneer iemand het over buitenaardsen heeft. Zij zijn ook degenen achter de meeste buitenaardse ontvoeringen van mensen.
Ze zijn tussen de één meter en één meter vijftig groot, hebben bolvormige hoofden en te grote zwarte ogen. Alhoewel ze een mond hebben, spreken ze zelden omdat de meeste communicatie door hen telepathisch wordt gedaan. Er wordt gezegd dat de kleine Grays een genetisch gemaakt werkras is die door hun superieuren, de grote Grays, worden gecontroleerd.
Vanwege hun telepathische mogelijkheden hebben ze een soort bijenkorf bewustzijn ontwikkeld.
Omdat ze genetisch zijn ontwikkeld voor het uitvoeren van bepaalde taken, kennen ze geen emoties en zijn wreed. Ook zijn zij verantwoordelijk voor het ontwikkelen van een menselijk-Gray hybride ras.
De Grote Grays Deze buitenaardsen zijn met een lengte van tussen de twee en tweeëneenhalve meter aanzienlijk groter dan de kleine Grays. Zij zijn altijd aanwezig bij iedere diplomatieke overeenkomst met de wereld schaduwregering. Volgens bronnen zijn zij afkomstig uit de Orion constellatie.
Alle ontvoeringen en experimenten op mensen gebeuren onder toezicht van de grote Grays, alhoewel ze daar zelf zelden bij aanwezig zijn. Ze laten dat soort werkzaamheden liever over aan hun ondergeschikten, de kleine Grays. Het schijnt dat zij belangstelling hebben voor het ontwikkelen van een stabiel menselijk-Gray ras, dat het waardig zou zijn om de aarde te erven.
Als een vergevorderd egocentrisch ras hechten ze weinig waarde aan het menselijk leven. Zij beschouwen ons als hun eigendom.
De Alpha Draconians
Corrupt en gemeen, daarmee omschrijf je dit ras dat duizenden jaren geleden de mensheid heeft geïnfiltreerd. Alhoewel ze naar de aarde zijn gekomen via hun koloniën op Alpha Draconis, weet niemand waar ze origineel vandaan komen.
Ze behoren tot de reptielensoort en ze zijn ergens tussen de viereneenhalve meter en zeven meter groot. Ze wegen ongeveer 900 kilo en hun gespierde lichamen zijn bedekt met een groene of bruine schubbenhuid.
Het is een intelligent ras met grote hoofden en reptielenogen. In sommige beschrijvingen hebben ze een staart of zelfs vleugels.
Iemand die contact heeft gehad met dit ras, Alex Collier, zegt dat hij wat meer informatie over deze buitenaardsen mag geven.
De Draconians zijn de drijvende kracht achter de onderdrukking van volkeren door de gehele Melkweg. Ze doen dit door het hanteren van op angst gebaseerde geloofssystemen en vrijheid beperkende hiërarchieën.
Ze zijn buitengewoon helderziend en intelligent en kunnen ook heel sinister zijn. Ze zien zichzelf dan ook als de meest intelligente soort in de Melkweg en ze hebben al diverse werelden bevolkt. Ze hebben ook een enorm ego en hierdoor zien ze zichzelf als de rechtmatige heersers over de minder ontwikkelde planeten zoals de aarde.
Ze blijven gewoon doorgaan met het exploiteren van de mensheid, wat aantoont dat ze ons zien als een inferieure soort.
Volgens de verslagen zijn er eigenlijk twee types Alpha Draconians. De hele grote zijn onderdeel van een kaste die de Ciakar wordt genoemd en de kleinere vormen een goed getrainde krijgersoort.
De oorspronkelijke Reptilians
Vaak worden deze verward met de krijgerskaste van de Alpha Draconians. Echter deze Reptilians komen oorspronkelijk van de aarde. De weinige informatie die beschikbaar is, zegt dat deze soort oorspronkelijk hier werd achtergelaten door de Alpha Draconians om de aarde te koloniseren.
Hun interactie met mensen gaat duizenden jaren terug. Soms in een assisterende rol, maar vaker gebruiken ze ons als een soort grondstof. Ze zijn geïnfiltreerd in ieder aspect van het menselijk leven en bevinden zich vaak op machtige posities. De Reptilians manipuleren onze elite en regeren over onze instituten en organisaties. Zij hebben het financiële systeem gebouwd en zij beïnvloeden alle religies.
Er wordt gezegd van dit ondergrondse reptielenras dat ze de media en alle grote bedrijven controleren. Zij zijn degenen achter de meeste tegen de mensheid uitgevoerde misdaden.
De Anunnaki
Zij vormen een eliteras dat origineel afkomstig van een andere Melkweg die Illyuwn heet. Hun thuisplaneet heette Rizq. Toen deze planeet werd verwoest bouwden ze een intergalactisch ruimteschip dat ze Nibiru noemden.
Voordat ze naar de Aarde kwamen, koloniseerden de Anunnaki een andere planeet in het Orion sterrenstelsel. Ze kwamen ongeveer een miljoen jaar geleden naar de aarde op zoek naar goud en andere waardevolle mineralen die schaars waren in het universum, maar volop voorkwamen op onze planeet.
Omdat ze werkvolk nodig hadden, hebben ze de mens geschapen. Door genetisch manipulatie slaagden ze erin om de primitieve Homo te “upgraden” naar sapiens kwaliteit. Omdat de Anunnaki op aarde zijn geweest sinds onze schepping hebben ze iedere aspect van het menselijk leven beïnvloed. Wij hebben hun patriarchale cultuur geërfd van geweld en wraak. Het zit in ons gefabriceerde DNA.
De Anunnaki zijn in een directe strijd gewikkeld met de Draconians voor de controle over de mensheid.

A mysterious flying object was captured on film by a motorist who saw it hovering above Mariners Wharf.
The video was taken by Paul Douglas, who was driving down Upper Parliament Street towards the waterfront when he saw something unusual in the sky on Monday night.
Paul, from Aigburth, said: “It was about 10.20 and I was driving when I saw something strange in the sky.
“It was over the marina and it was just a mad object in the sky. It sort of looked like a drone but it also had three green lights on it.”
Taxi-driver Paul said he pulled over in amazement at what was drifting through the sky and started filming the object as it moved closer towards land then back out towards the water.
He added: “It was hovering over the water and I tried to follow it in the car as I was coming down Upper Parliament Street.
“As it was hovering, the birds were making a funny noise and going a bit mad. Then after a couple of minutes it started going out towards the water again.
“It was pretty high in the sky as it was floating over the water. I went to the waterfront to ask two fishermen if they saw it as it moved on but they didn’t.”
Paul described seeing three green lights sitting horizontally across the object.
He added: “It looked a bit like horizontal traffic lights. There were three green lights and then one different coloured light on the end.”

Is it possible that extraterrestrials have visited the Earth but deliberately refrain from making contact with humanity because we are too stupid?
In an interview with MSNBC host Chris Hayes, astrophysicist and Cosmos host Neil DeGrasse said that our definition of intelligence might greatly differ from the views of advanced extraterrestrials beings.
“My great fear is that we’ve in fact been visited by intelligent aliens,” DeGrasse Tyson said to Hayes.
“But they chose not to make contact, on the conclusion that there’s no sign of intelligent life on Earth. How’s that for measures of intelligence?”‘
One reason it’s presumptuous for humans to act like they’re the arbiters of intelligence, DeGrasse Tyson said, is the possibility that planets much older than ours are already sending us messages in a format that, while basic to them, is incomprehensible by our current standards.
For example, he explained, while radio waves are seen as commonplace in present-day Earth, no one could have understood them 200 years ago.
“We were sending signals out before we were doing it on purpose,” DeGrasse Tyson said.
“Our early TV shows, like I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners and that sort of thing, Howdy-Doody.
These are our cultural emissaries.”
“These are the things aliens will decode about our civilization, because in the radio bubble that is the volume around our solar system that contains our radio chatter – be it accidental or on purpose -”
“That’s the first stuff we emitted,” Hayes said, completing the thought.
“They will learn how men and women treat each other by watching The Honeymooners,” DeGrasse Tyson said. “‘To the moon, Alice!’ And people used to laugh at that.”
