From all appearances, the train left the station long ago.
From my perspective, MUFON is what it is. It has nothing to do with scientific study of anything. And it probably never did.
The embarrassing and infantile missteps are perhaps becoming more frequent but the organization has always been the realm of amateur UFO enthusiasts whose unscientific religious belief in flying saucers clouds their judgement in a profound way.
When considering celebrated UFO cases, the slides debacle is only unusual in that the denouement was so definitive. Usually there is so little evidence available that the "investigator" can really go to town on offering his speculation about the case.
And there is no doubt that many (possibly most) UFO cases rest on the same kind of faulty foundation: narratives composed by inept experimenter bias, willful belief and a certain measure of prideful stupidity.
From my perspective, what UFO organizations do is pretend to be interested in scientific modes of inquiry while either not understanding such methodology, or actually abhorring it. And even worse they often erect a false veneer of sciencey double speak and ponderous but meaningless "data" that seems to wow the rubes.
But MUFON has now dropped so low in its search for splashy speakers and TV fame that the false scientific shell has possibly become only vestigial.
Unfortunately every UFO group does the same thing and it's hard to decide what's worse: promoting something obviously silly like Bigfoot's connection to UFOs or the pretend science in the white papers of organizations like NARCAP.

"Boundary work" is the name given by social scientists to activities scientists undertake to demarcate and defend what counts as science -- for example, establishing a credentialing system, presenting one’s ongoing research for collegial critique at lunchtime symposia, or in extreme cases calling for retractions of papers from journals. Since its beginnings in the US, ufology qua science has been intermixed with ufology qua spirituality, the paranormal, hoaxes, disinformation campaigns, popular culture and self-delusion. Ufology as a whole has never been successful in doing the boundary work necessary to distinguish between either good vs. poor science or science and non-science. Even major organizations like APRO and NICAP each adopted their own guidelines for what counted as legitimate UAP phenomena (occupants/no occupants, for example). The most salient boundaries when it comes to studying UAPs have been those imposed by outside, by government bodies and/or academic disdain for and impatience with such a chaotic field.

Hence, it’s still possible for sideshow-style exhibits that almost everyone outside of ufology would recognize as such to be proffered by well-known UFO researchers as evidence in ufological claims-making.It’s true the high strange aspect of much UAP and related phenomena requires that the bizarre and quixotic not be automatically dismissed from consideration.However, the Roswell Slides had hoax, not high strange, written all over it just based on common sense considerations.
It seems incredible, then, that given its mission statement MUFON would continue to include the people involved in the Roswell Slides in its promotions and events.If an organization claiming to be a legitimate voice of ufology can’t make credible distinctions between scientific and non-scientific facets of its own history, how can it be trusted to make authoritative contributions to future science for the benefit of humanity?
In the case of the Roswell Slides, the appropriate boundary work was carried out in short course by an ad hoc group of knowledgeable and interested outsiders.This suggests that there are aspects of the MUFON approach to UFOs that actively work against doing the necessary scientific boundary work.The best thing MUFON could do is institutionalize a space in which difficult conversations about boundary work can take place.If MUFON can’t do this, others will continue to open such conversations elsewhere and MUFON cannot legitimately claim to be the voice of science when it comes to UFO/UAPs

Since I resigned from MUFON in 2010, MUFON has been on a re-branding mission in an attempt to make itself a sexy alternative to the current public love affair with all things paranormal that includes ghost hunting, Bigfoot tracking, and ancient astronaut theorizing. There's a plethora of these shows on cable for a reason - the public loves them - and that means advertising dollars. Taking lessons from the oldest profession in the world - MUFON needs the money and sex sells - so mission statement be damned, the truth can wait. Here are some of the relevant facts which make this a no-brainer decision for MUFON:
Fact number one - MUFON is a nonprofit organization that survives on membership dues, donations, merchandise sales, annual Symposium attendance, and extraneous revenue streams like what it squeezes out of the History Channel.
Fact number two - MUFON is run by a Business Board of "believers" who pay lip service to scientific principles, from board member Clifford Clift who believes in alien bases on the moon to Jan Harzan whose personal UFO sighting as a child drives his willingness to believe.
Fact number three - MUFON is a data collector with no clear vision on how to convert that data into scientifically sound analysis. After over forty years of existence, MUFON can't even state what it knows to be true about the phenomenon.
When I was Director, the pressure to sell its image at any cost was a discussion at every board meeting - how do we get more members and sponsors, how do we sell more merchandise, how do we get more symposium attendees? Resisting the pressures to sacrifice truth for cold hard cash is what lead to my resignation.
Until MUFON decides to get off of its street corner turning tricks and into the lab doing real research, it will be justifiably criticized for its current ridiculous actions of promoting UFO myths on its Hangar1 show and for hosting known UFO hoaxers, myth makers, regurgitators and outright liars at its annual Symposium. I am not holding my breath that will happen anytime soon under its current leadership.
Vendors at UFO conferences typically offer such goods & services as stones alleged to have metaphysical properties, psychic readings and photographing you with your aura, even when the event is advertised as science-based
The contributions of all are most appreciated, as is the investment of valuable time and attention. Thank you. Relevant and interesting points were indeed addressed. There is no doubt that claims asserted by some ufology figures and endorsedby the organizations that promote them are extremely detrimental to compiling a body of accurate information. It is clearly a given that those claiming to be in positions to provide information do not always prioritize accuracy in their reporting or deserve the trust they are granted. Organizations, including the Mutual UFO Network, that provide publicity to dubious speakers, particularly while claiming to conduct scientific study, should be called on such misrepresentations. Perhaps the best way to hold them accountable is to simply not support them. We might choose to continue to withhold our attendance, membership and financial support from organizations and events which are poorly operated and do not serve the best interests of their patrons. Perhaps MUFON leadership generates enough revenue from television deals and similar sources to not care if the org has members or not. Either way, we have the ability to implement our own ban for all practical purposes and as matters of principle. Such a boycott certainly appears to be warranted, if not relatively forced upon us by the perpetrators. While refraining from supporting individuals and organizations that engage in false claims of promoting scientific study, we might simultaneously take a positive approach, making specific efforts to turn our attention to and endorse those we identify as worthy. Let writers and researchers you appreciate know it. Encourage them. Purchase their products, and morally and publicly support their websites and appearances. MUFON directors and conference organizers are indeed responsible for the poor shape of the org and the low quality of its events. We, as consumers, are responsible for what we choose to support or oppose. Let's keep demanding better quality, applying consequences when it is not provided, and granting support when it is, wherever that valuable support may best be offered.
THREE DAY ALIEN CRAFT ENCOUNTER IN THE GULF OF MEXICO APRIL 1969…….. GULF OF MEXICO
Although Arrowhead UFOs are not the most common of UFO shapes sighted, this sighting was even more unusual because of its duration. The craft was seen by the entire crew of the Oil Tanker “British Grenadier” for exactly 3 days! The event occurred around April/May 1969 while the “British Grenadier” was sailing through the Gulf of Mexico. The UFO appeared directly above the ship at exactly noon on the first day. It just seemed to appear as nobody saw it arrive and it remained above the ship for the next 3 days. According to reports the craft was approximately 1 mile above the ship and dark blue in colour during the day. At night it appeared as a silvery light. The weather conditions were good at the time, with a clear sky and calm seas.
On the first day of its arrival (one minute after midnight), the ships engines suddenly stopped and only emergency lighting and steering were available. The crew managed to restart the engines, which took some time as all the pumps had to be shut down and restarted manually.
The second day saw all the food storage refrigerators closed down and no reason for this event could be found.
On the third day at 11.45 pm one of the crew noticed that the lights were out in the ships air conditioning room and a door leading to the crews accomodation was opened. The engineer passed through the door to investigate and spoke to two firemen. But the next day the same door was found welded shut! Apparently, the door had been welded before the ship left dock (because of a fault), but the door was definitely open for the engineer to have walked through it. A few minutes after this event the engines stopped again, leaving just emergency lighting and steering (again one minute after midnight!). They were restarted once more, but later it was discovered that the starter motor for the emergency diesel generator had been dismantled. All the parts of the generator were neatly placed by the machine as if someone had examined it. At exactly noon on the third day the craft vanished in the same manner as it had appeared.
Although all these events were recorded in the ships log, this is the first time (to our knowledge) that this event has been published. We would be interested in hearing from any of the crew that were aboard the BP Oil Tanker “British Grenadier” at this time, in order to obtain more information about this sighting.
This orb fleet was seen by a sky watcher in Peru last week and we see a line of UFOs, one after another pass by. The UFOs seem to have two lights on them. I do not believe the two lights are two separate UFOs, but rather just one single UFO. I tested the screenshots to see if there was a mountain in the background and that was not. Its only sky behind it. SCW

According to the filmmaker, the video was captured at 5am, although other details about the footage remain unclear.

Mariner 7 was een Amerikaanse onbemande ruimtevlucht naar Mars eind jaren '60. Doel was onderzoek te verrichten naar de atmosfeer en het oppervlak van de rode planeet.
De sonde voerde deze missie samen met de tegelijkertijd gelanceerde Mariner 6 uit. Daaropvolgende missies gebruikten de gegevens verzameld tijdens deze twee passages. Daarnaast testte NASA de vereiste technieken voor interplanetaire vluchten uit.
Volgens ufoloog Scott Waring werden de door de Mariner 7 gemaakte foto’s destijds bewust door NASA weggehouden van het publiek om de simpele reden dat ze teveel zaken zouden onthullen.
Zelfs nu is het niet gemakkelijk om ze te vinden en wanneer je er één hebt, is er een gerede kans dat een groot deel met opzet wazig is gemaakt.
Volgens NASA employees bevatten de Mariner 7 foto’s veel buitenaardse steden en gebouwen en dus mocht het publiek deze niet zien.
De foto waar het volgende vreemde cijfer van afkomstig is, is dan ook zo’n bewust wazig gemaakte foto. Dat betekent dat ongeveer 75 procent van de foto niet duidelijk is te zien.
Misschien dat er binnenkort software op de markt komt waarmee dit soort wazige filters verwijderd kunnen worden.
Ondertussen moeten we het doen met de dingen die wel te zien zijn, zoals het volgende cijfer 6 of 9. Scott Waring denkt dat het getal onderdeel vormt van een buitenaards gebouw of iets dergelijks.

A rare sketch that John Lennon made to record his alien encounter is in the hands of a leading UFO researcher. Lennon allegedly had the strange encounter in America.
Known for his investigation of the 1974 UFO Berwyn Mountains incident, Russ Kellett said he bought Lennon’s sketch of an encounter with flying saucer in New York. Mr Kellett revealed that he got the controversial sketch a few months ago. Lennon’s alleged UFO encounter took place in the same year of the North Wales incident.
It has been a rumour that Lennon, whose first wife Cynthia just recently died and once lived in Ruthin, has made some drawings following the sighting.
According to the report, Lennon was standing on his apartment’s balcony with former girlfriend May Pang on August 23, 1974. The two claimed to have spotted a flying saucer floating silently over them.
Many suspected that the lyric of Nobody Told Me that says “There’s a UFO over New York, and I ain’t too surprised” refers to the incident.
Mr Kellett said that he loves to collect UFO materials and a Beatles fan too. When a friend told him that it was becoming available, he grabbed the opportunity to own the sketch. He said he bought it from a private collector.
Mr Kellett said that the sketch shows Lennon pointing into the sky at the UFO. However, the buyer remained tight lip over the amount he paid for the sketch.

Alien life does exist, but it’s not hidden in Area 51, according to NASA Administrator Major Charles Frank Bolden Jr. He told British schoolchildren that he was positive about finding life outside of Earth because there were so many planets that are Earth-like.
When Bolden asked by 10-year old Carmen Dearing if he believed in aliens, he said that he does think that we’ll someday discover other forms of life or a form of life, if not in our solar system, then some of the billions of other solar systems in the universe.
Major Bolden explained that there are literally thousands or millions of other planets, and many of which may be very Earth-like.
Major Bolden also admitted the existence of Area 51 but said the American government wasn’t hiding alien in the facility. He said that Area 51 is a regular research and development place. He told the schoolchildren that he never saw any alien or alien spaceship or anything related to it when he was there. He said that the secrecy of the aeronautics contributed the rumours about aliens being kept secret in Area 51.
The Area 51’s existence has been kept secret for many decades, and it has fuelled UFO theories. In 2013, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) released a series of documents as part of a Freedom of Information request and acknowledged the exact location of Area 51 in Nevada, near Groom Lake.
The documents reveal that the facility was used during the Second World War as an aerial gunnery for the Army Air Corp pilots.
President Dwight Eisenhower later approved the place as the Atomic Energy Commissions Nevada test site and training range. Area 51 later became the primary site for the development of the U-2 spy plane.
Major Bolden also said that the lack of adequate toilet facilities is one of the main reasons humans haven’t landed yet on the Red Planet. NASA is hoping to send finally humans to Mars in the 2030s, but Major Bolden said there were technological obstacles that still needed to be addressed.
He said that they’re going to do an orbital mission first on Mars, similar to what they did when they went to the Moon. According to Major Bolden, they’ve got to get the surface of the Mars ready for human habitation. They want to build habitats and houses using robots. He said they need better life support systems, and toilets are a big deal.
Mr Bolden answered questions for the children’s newspaper First News show “Hotseat,” which is broadcast on Sky News.

Lincoln seems to have had its very own visitors over recent years and we thought this would be the perfect time to revisit some of them.
1. Last December, Retired airline captain Paul Howard appeared to have captured three UFOs on camera.
Paul commented: "I hadn't noticed anything strange when I took the photo but I was quite surprised to see three very interesting saucer-like shapes in the sky when I looked at the picture on my computer."
4. After seeing a bright light on the morning of January 4, 2009, local Conisholme residents speculated a UFO was responsible for severing a huge 72ft. blade off a wind turbine.
However, investigators later ruled out any aircraft, including UFOs, as the cause.
A statement from wind farm operator Ecotricity said: "Following several weeks of forensic examination of the turbine's components the manufacturer, Enercon, has ruled out 'collision' as a possible cause."
Bolts securing the blade to the hub were said to have failed due to 'material fatigue'.
5. Around 9:15pm on April 5, 2013 a man from North Hykeham spotted a dark, delta shaped object in the sky from his back garden.
Stephen Melusco had gone out to stargaze when he spotted the bizarre sight quickly travelling north east to west. The sighting only lasted for four or five seconds and then it was gone.
Stephen said: "I only saw it because there were some low clouds at that time with street lights from Lincoln Road or NK in the distance which made the object appear lighter. There were no on-board lights and no engine sounds."
6. Above the North Sea on October 5, 1996 police officers and a ship's crew witnessed rotating multi-coloured lights in the sky near the coast of Boston.
These sightings were document in a detailed investigation by the RAF, when air defence radars at RAF Neatishead in Norfolk detected an unidentified blip over Boston.
The later RAF report, released in February 2010, concluded that the radar imagery was caused by Boston Stump's spire.
However, they were no corroborating radar returns for the visual sightings.

'Turkey is one of the top five UFO hotspots in the world,' says UFO specialist as 'flying saucer' term celebrates 68th anniversary

"They were half-moon shaped, oval in front and convex in the rear." "[...]They were silvery and shiny and seemed to be shaped like a pie plate or saucer..."
These historic words date back 68 years to the day, when American aviator Kenneth Arnold made the first widely reported unidentified flying object (UFO) sighting and the phrase "flying saucer" gained widespread public attention.
Since then, this phenomenon has attracted considerable attention and has sparked numerous debates among experts who either believe in extraterrestrial life or reject it.
"Though the Kenneth incident has been accepted as a milestone for the creation of the popular term 'flying saucers’, the disc-shaped flying objects have been recorded since the Middle Ages," Haktan Akdogan, chairman of Sirius UFO Space Sciences Research Center, told Anadolu Agency.
A well-known Turkish ufologist and a vigorous advocate of extraterrestrial intelligent life, Akdogan established the Sirius UFO Space Sciences Research Center in 1998 to communicate with other UFO research centers in the world and share the latest updates about these mysterious flying objects.
The center’s website claims to work with researchers, anthropologists, physicists, pilots and psychologists from around the world, its main objective being to prove that human beings are not alone in the universe.
"UFOs have been in touch with human beings for ages," Akdogan claims, stating that he had held many closed-door meetings attended by high-ranking military officials who claimed to have been in touch with aliens.
"There are hundreds of recorded photographs and video footage showing the existence of UFOs," he adds.
"Besides the photographs and videos, there have been many UFO sightings in Turkish air space witnessed by Turkish pilots. I can say that Turkey is one of the top five UFO hotspots in the world," Akdogan says.
The UFO specialist claims that there is a UFO department in the Turkish air force and in the intelligence service, MIT.
"As Sirius, we have been in touch with nearly 20 retired air force pilots who claim to have seen UFOs. There were UFOs that were involved in dogfighting with F-4 [fighter jets]," Akdogan says.
Recalling the Roswell incident which occurred on July 2, 1947, just a week after the Kenneth sighting, Akdogan claims that governments hide facts about UFO from the public because they fear that "it would change the current world order".
In the Roswell incident, a flying saucer allegedly wrecked a ranch in the town of Roswell in New Mexico. Rumors throughout the years have run rampant regarding the U.S. government finding aliens in the wreckage and hiding them in Area 51, the U.S. Air Force facility in Nevada.
"The governments should disclose the existence of aliens and UFOs, Akdogan says. We are not alone in the universe."
However, Kathryn Olmsted, a history professor at University of California (UC) Davis, rebuffs any notion that a flying saucer or aliens were actually in Roswell.
"The strange debris had a mundane origin: it was just the remains of an ordinary weather balloon" she wrote in her book, Real Enemies: Conspiracy Theories and American Democracy, World War I to 9/11, published in 2008.
British weekly The Economist noted in 2014 that, according to the U.S. National UFO Recording Center, most sightings between 2000 and 2014 in America occurred between 5.00 and 11.00 p.m., i.e. drinking hours.
Akdogan also claims that UFOs had kidnapped people, in Turkey and around the world, to research them. A common allegation throughout the years among UFO enthusiasts worldwide.
"They are not just flying in space," he warns. "Many people were taken to the spaceships with light beams while they were sleeping and they were exposed to certain tests."
Akdogan says that there have been nearly 470 UFO incidents recorded in Turkey so far. "Nearly 120 people were kidnapped in Turkey; some of them had implants or microchips inserted [in their bodies] by the aliens."
"Those people want to remain anonymous now, but we will announce [their identities] very soon," Akdogan adds.
It was first American podiatric surgeon and ufologist Roger Leir who claimed that he had ripped dozens of extraterrestrial origin implants from alleged abductees.
Leir, who died in 2014, had claimed that the implants were designed "to emit radio signals".
According to Tansel Ak, a professor at the Astronomy and Space Sciences department in Istanbul University, to equate any unidentified flying object to extraterrestrial intelligent life has constituted a prejudice and a deception in people's minds for years.
Like many, Ak believes that the majority -- if not all -- of UFO sightings or incidents are a hoax.
"Most of the mentioned video footage or photographs have been proven so far to be natural events, camera user errors, delusions or, primarily, deceptive acts," Ak says.
Stating that scientists work based on data and repeatable observation, he adds: "The proof must to be clear enough to leave no room for doubt."
"What the science tells us that it is possible that there is life on any other planet or satellite but there has not been any scientific finding proving the existence of extraterrestrial beings or [such beings] visiting Earth so far," Ak says.
"I think there are two possible comments to be made with regards to unidentified flying objects," he says. "First, people lack enough knowledge to define them and, second, certain people are fooling the public with fraudulent images to earn income and reputation."
Ak admits though that the belief that there is extraterrestrial life or that aliens visit Earth can sound attractive regardless of what the science says.
Ak said that the number of incidents of fraudulent sightings is relatively low in Turkey compared to the Western world. "This is because the UFO sector has not become profitable in Turkey yet."
According to Ak, the probability that of UFO visit near Earth is close to zero as the nearest star to the Earth is the Sun, which is about 150 million kilometers away.
"Apart from the Sun, the closest star to our world is four light years away, i.e. 40 trillion kilometers,” he adds.
"To travel from one star to another takes hundreds, even thousands of years," he explains. "So I do not think any intelligent creature can afford to make this journey!"

It’s credited as the first modern UFO sighting and the origin of America’s obsession with flying saucers. But it might have all been based on what The Atlantic calls “one of the most significant reporter misquotes in history.”
On this day, June 24, in 1947, an amateur pilot was on his way to an air show in Oregon when he saw a bright blue flash of light in the sky near Mount Rainier. At first he thought it was the sun glinting off another aircraft, but the only other plane around was about 15 mi. away, and notglinting. Then he saw nine more flashes of light, in quick succession — coming from what he later described as unidentified flying objects.

It was when the pilot, Kenneth Arnold, tried to describe the motion of the objects to a reporter for the United Press that the mix-up occurred. He said they flew “like a saucer if you skip it across the water.” The reporter took this to mean that the objects themselves were saucer-like, and news reports across the country repeated that Arnold had seen “flying saucers.”
Suddenly everyone was seeing what Arnold had seen, except that he hadn’t. Per TIME: “By July 4, newspapers were heralding literally hundreds of reports of ‘flying saucers’ in skies across the nation.”
On July 7, a New Mexico rancher reported finding what he thought was the crash site of a flying saucer near Roswell, N.M. When he shared his theory with officials at the Roswell Army Air Field, they concurred, and issued a press release claiming they had “captured” a flying saucer. (The next day, cooler heads prevailed higher up the chain of command. The Air Force retracted the claim and said that what they had actually captured were the remains of a weather balloon.)
But while Arnold didn’t say he’d seen saucers, he believed he’d seen something otherworldly. He’d calculated the speed of the flying objects at more than 1,200 mph — nearly twice the speed of sound, at a time when planes hadn’t yet cracked the sound barrier.
He couldn’t come up with an explanation other than the extraterrestrial, since the flying pattern of the objects was too erratic for planes and too fast for almost anything else.
“Everyone says I’m nuts,” he’s quoted as saying in a 1947 newspaper story, “and I guess I’d say it too if someone else reported those things. But I saw them and watched them closely.”
Although the objects Arnold saw have never been incontrovertibly identified, the Air Force eventually offered a better explanation for the Roswell crash site — and even admitted to a cover-up of sorts, according to TIME. That weather balloon wasn’t really a weather balloon, the Air Force acknowledged in 1994, but neither was it a flying saucer: Most likely it was one of a train of high-altitude balloons carrying acoustical equipment to monitor Soviet nuclear tests in the years following World War II.

Plenty More UFO-Related Governmental Material Can Be Found
One of the things that never ceases to stagger me about the UFO issue is the sheer quantity of governmental material that has been generated because of it. Its now been 70 years worth. For a subject that is, supposedly, mere fantasy, there seems to be no limit, no slowing down even, to the discovery of unseen, unapprised, once classified documentation pouring in from a growing assortment of sources. If one knows what they are looking for (which is half the battle) they can pretty much be sure to discover something that they, and no one else often, have ever seen before. This may sound baffling to a person who has never tried. The notion that so-called “UFO files” (a term that gets thrown around too loosely, too often) can be simply weeded out of official sources whenever one feels like it, seems implausible, right? Well, to my daily and nightly amazement, it’s not.
I recently stumbled upon a few large databases of American military and intelligence publications (870 to be exact) at the site archive.org that have been wholly, or at least partially, declassified by their “originating agency”, or, more formally, their “Office of Primary Responsibility” (OPR). Now, for those interested, and most people sadly are not, any file created by any Directorate, Major Command, Field Agency, Fleet, Component or whatever, within any branch of the US Department of Defence (Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines), is “owned”, or “promulgated”, by that organisation, or its successors, for eternity; and, in the case of the lists I am going through now, we are spoilt for choice. There are hundreds of files from seemingly every major component of the whole US DoD represented.
Anyway, In a little over five weeks, I have managed to painstakingly go through 400 or so (of 1000’s) and have already found 24 publications that in some way do, or may, relate to the UFO matter - and some of them relate very openly. Maybe more importantly is that some of these records not been been seen by UFO researchers yet. I have consulted some of the researchers who do this sort of thing day and night, and a good number of these files are completely new to them.
So what’s in the assortment so far? Below I detail two of the more interesting ones, with plenty more to come in future blog posts.
The first one I came across is a modestly laid out 9 page document which lists various important events and milestones of the US Air Force’s 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing for the year 1982. Titled, “CHRONOLOGY 1982 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing”, the document is a loose tabulated list with dates on the left-hand side of the page, and events in the main middle-to-right-hand side. Typical entries include things like “5 Mar The 9th and 100th Wings participated in a joint Short Sprint readiness exercise” and “16 April The Joint Chiefs of Staff decided to continue Operating Location – OF at Patrick AFB, Florida indefinitely”. Important stuff most would agree, no? What then do we make of this entry on page 7 which states:
9 Oct A detachment 4 U-2 on a higher headquarters mission experienced an unusual incident.
What is meant by “unusual incident” is unclear. Such phrasing is usually a euphemism for an event that higher headquarters would prefer not to be known. How many options for this are there for a U-2 in flight? A mechanical issue would likely be stated as such. It is possible that the aircraft experienced a missile attack from the air or ground, again something likely to be stated as such in an internal document. Could there have been a UFO sighted, surely an unusual incident? UFO incidents have been known to be vaguely described in unit histories. Maybe someday what this was will be known. The second publication I saw which contained something of significance is titled “History of the Assistant Chief of Staff, Intelligence: July – December 1967”. This particular file seems to be focused solely on the functions and responsibilities of the 1127th Field Activities Group (FAG), and starts off, for reasons unknown, at Page 46. For those readers who don’t know, the 1127th FAG, historically, relates to the USAF’s painful reaction to the UFO issue. The organisation started out its shadowy life as the 4602nd Air Intelligence Service Squadron (AISS) in January 1953, when Air Defence Command Regulation 24-4 created it for a wartime mission of exploiting downed enemy people, papers, and hardware. In March 1953, the decision was made to use the 4602nd AISS in UFO investigations and, by the end of December 1953, a working agreement existed between the Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) and the new 4602nd AISS. In fact, all UFO reports were to go through the 4602d AISS prior to any transmission to Project Blue Book at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base – Project Blue Book being the publicly admitted UFO “investigative” desk, if you can call what they did as “investigations” that is. Anyway, in July 1957 the 4602nd, became the 1006th AISS, then in April 1960, it was reorganised as the 1127th FAG! Furthermore, through the years, these organisations ran the infamous “Project Moon Dust”, which many of you will know of. For those that do not, put simply, the original mission of Project Moon Dust, as stated by US Air Force Message #54322, dated December 23, 1957, was to “to collect and analyze raw intelligence reports from the field on fallen space debris and objects of unknown origin”.
Now, in regards to the publication I am discussing here, some half way through the document, we see the sub-heading “MOON DUST.” It goes on to read:
“Secret/No Foreign Dissem) During the last half of 1967, the Operations Plans Branch (AFNIAAB) received from the 1st Aerospace Control Squadron (SPADATS) at Ent AFB, Colorado, notifications of the deorbit of 49 Soviet space objects (rocket bodies, payloads and space platforms), and of 17 US space objects considered to be of special importance.”

On the next page, a further 6 lines of text have been completely redacted, or, “blacked out”, by USAF declassification review authorities. The act of redacting certain lines of text, or even whole pages, is done when dedicated records management units review any wholly classified material. Such redactions are done under the guise of one or more of the the specific exemptions allowed which relate to national security. Considering the publication I am presenting here is from 1967, and we are now in 2015, one really wonders if such actions are even remotely necessary. Not all is lost though, for this special portion of the document goes on to finally say:
“Inspection by US authorities was precluded by the strained diplomatic relations which have resulted from the Arab/Israeli conflict, but AFNLAAB has received a report that a mission composed of 13 Soviet scientists and technicians did examine the object in October, 1967. No further details are available.”

Looking at the bigger picture, the only thing these obscure publications really prove is that there is more UFO-related, governmental (usually of military providence) to be found. As stated above, I found this material at archive.org. There are dozens more under-utilised databases and archives that will surely contain significant, at least historically, material. None of this of course will solve the UFO matter. It will, however, fill in little parts of history, and,sometimes, lead us to more discoveries. The aurora borealis, aka the northern lights, occurs around the north magnetic pole (at the south magnetic pole it's called an aurora australis) when highly charged electrons from solar winds interact with elements in the earth's atmosphere, such as oxygen and nitrogen. The color of the aurora depends on which atom is struck, and the altitude of the meeting. The most common color, yellow-green, typically comes from a reaction with oxygen at altitudes around 60 miles above the earth.
Red auroras are more rare and are produced by high-altitude oxygen, at heights of up to 200 miles. When this photo was taken, ISS was hovering about 251 miles above the ground.

Mr Hellyer, who is now 91 years old, has already recently addressed a crowd of over 500 people in Calgary as part of the Disclosure Canada Tour, which he has helped set up to raise awareness about our Alien Visitors!
The ‘Brave’ Canadian ex-civil servant first came out as a UFO believer ten years ago aged when he was 81 years old.
Paul is a great ‘determined’ man and he is NOT senile no matter what the Vile/Disgusting media make up about him! He is so very committed to this truth seeking cause, Paul believes has famously stated that the “UFOs are as common in our skies as aeroplanes” and aliens may already live among us on Earth!
Paul very rightly so launched a vicious attack on the mainstream media for ignoring his beliefs and thoughts on Aliens and UFO’s.

Clear UFO’s are being seen all over the world building up an even stronger case for People like Paul Hellyer! Yet another “glowing UFO” was filmed by a large number of people in Bakersfield, California, this month and posted on facebook and to local news channels in April 2015!
Reports also of mysterious blue lights over the same area made the news headlines back in February and March (2015).
Back in late March, the local residents in the southern Russian city of Stavropol caught on camera a noiseless, blinding light sweep across the night sky at 9.30pm before disappearing. Some residents even stated that there was a strange ‘groaning’ noise at the same time of the odd bright light in the sky!
One of Russia’s leading newspapers ‘The Moscow Times’ speculated that it was either connected to the Northern Lights (??) military action (???) a solar eclipse (????), a cloud-measuring device (getting silly now!) or aliens……!!!

According to Mr Hellyer there are at least 80 different species of extra-terrestrials, but sceptics have labelled him deluded and crazy….a hate campaign led by the puppets on a string media!!
Speaking to Russian television last year, Paul said some of them “look just like us and they could walk down the street and you wouldn’t know if you walked past one”.
Mr Hellyer has claimed that most aliens are harmless but a handful have ulterior motives….yet to be revealed!
Mr Hellyer is part of an increasing number of ex-officials, including former NASA employees, military officers, or scientists, coming forward to claim to have seen UFOs which were covered up by Governments….and U.I.P salutes these brave men!

Paul Hellyer has put his whole reputation at risk after coming out with his knowledge on Aliens about ten years ago! Paul has been ridiculed continuously by the press and the governments of this world, making him out to be some crazy person!
For a man to hold such a senior rank in the Canadian Government is NOT going to want to make a fool of himself with this talk of Aliens and UFO’s….U.I.P and MANY others out there feel that Paul is a brave man for airing his thoughts and knowledge in public!

During the past few years I have written about people who have had strange encounters with alien or unknown beings as well as lost time events. The people involved in these events are often referred to as contactees or experiencers or abductees. They are people who are taken against their will with their lives and bodies invaded or used until they are returned confused with no or little memory of what took place.
Many of these people started having strange events happen to them as small children some as young as age three. Most of the encounters are vague at best in memory while messages or ideas seem to become implanted in the minds of those taken which they in turn feel compelled to explain or share after the abduction or lost time experience.
I have interviewed many people who have been through this type of event and have found many similar threads that run through this community of people.
Today I want to discuss one of those similarities. Among the abduction victims I have talked to the subject of children or being used for the collection of biological material to use for a inter species reproduction project seems to be a main concern for these people. The subject comes into the conversation usually by way of the abductee as it seems to be a topic that weighs heavily on their minds.
The idea of being used to produce a child or life form that is only half human and that half coming from them is an idea that pushes the abductees to a point of deep concern and fear. I have been told over and over that their worse fear would be for them to come face to face with a being that they thought was theirs by way of their abductions.
I know this fear has been realized in a few cases where those who have experienced these events have an experience where either children or teens are shown to abductees without explanation. Odd looking children or teens will appear in strange places and either simply look at or speak a few words to the abductee before quickly walking away or vanish before the abductee can react to them. These odd visits leave the abductee with a deep implanted feeling that they were shown their alien hybrid children.
The people who have had this happen seem to be rare however they all were seriously shaken by the event, They are people who carry the images of these children or teens with fear anguish and upset after the experience making their life harder as they struggle wondering why they are the one who has been chosen to endure these horrid abduction experiences.
I have worked with and have become friends with Randy Maugans who is the host of Off Planet Radio. Randy and I have worked together on his shows and have become friends due to the fact we share a great deal in common with our thinking and personal experiences with the unknown.
Randy is a lifelong experiencer with strange events happening to him starting when he was a small child of about three. He has continued with odd events and lost time scenarios during his entire lifetime. Although Randy’s radio show covers the subjects of the unknown Randy has only recently started to discuss his own experiences recently.
Randy and I were discussing a show we were preparing to work on together when I started to ask him a bit more about his own encounters. Randy floored me when he mentioned that a few years ago he had a truly upsetting experience that has kept him nervous and confused since.
Randy was working late and took a break at dinner time to go get something to eat. He was sitting at an outdoor table during the late summer eating all alone when two strange young people approached him. Randy has agreed to tell us in his own words what took place;
“I was having dinner at a Chinese takeout place one night in September 2010. The place had a covered area with tables outside. It was a nice night so I went out and sat down to eat my dinner. I was the only one there at the time eating. I was busy with my dinner when I felt someone was there or looking at me so I looked up to find two young people standing a few feet away from me.
The moment I noticed them they walked right up to my table inches from where I sat, One was a teenage male in his late teens the other a teen female a bit younger, They were very strange looking. They were both on the tall side but extremely thin. They wore jeans but they did not look like a normal teen as they had on odd shirts and wore their hair unlike most kids, I know I have a house full of teenagers. They had pale skin and extremely large eyes. The eyes were blue but way too big for their faces and skull. They had straight slit like pupils not round like ours. The boy had shaggy dark blonde hair the girl dark straight hair with a large widow’s peek.
The two of them stood close and over me until the male bent down a bit and I heard in my head his voice saying “Hello how are you ” He did not communicate this orally it was done mentally. With that the two of them stepped back and quickly took off in to the parking lot area.
The Chinese restaurant is in a strip mall. The restaurant is located on the end making it the last store in the strip. I was extremely shaken at what had just happened and got up immediately and stepped out into the parking lot which I could clearly see from my vantage point and searched for them. It was only seconds that passed yet I could not see them anywhere, I knew they did not even have enough time to make it to a car much less disappear from the parking area, I walked around and looked but could not find any sign of them. I returned to my table however was so upset by the event that I was physically shaking and needed to calm down before I was able to drive and return to work.
I knew that the two were not fully human and will tell you that one horrid thought went through my mind as I was experiencing this and every day since. The horror that flowed through my mind then and still does now is one thought – are they mine?
Once I returned to work I immediately took notes and drew a sketch of what I had just experienced. I have to tell you that this event is one that really has and still does shake me to my bone. “

Notes of Randy Maugans :
Eyes: approximately 1/3 size larger than normal (the drawing is a visual representation, but not exact); (creepy) the irises of both subjects were elliptical, not round. I recall both subjects’ eyes were light-colored: the male had green-blue eyes; the female’s eyes were nearly translucent with a slight blue tint—it was quite stunning.
The ears were not “pointy”, but slightly more elongated than the average human subject; the lobes were either attached or did not exist’
Hard to show in the sketch, but the cranial (foreheads) were more prominent; i.e.- frontal cranium had a very noticeable protrusion.
Female subject had a noticeable “widows peak”; the male, as I recall did not but the hair was also longish likely more of a forward sweep. Male’s hair was light, or blondish, the female’s hair was dark…black? Can’t say for certain now.
The heights of the subjects were, relative to my height (5’11-1/2”)—male around 5’11”, female around 5’8” or so (sketch, right side line sketch).

When I saw Randy’s sketch I was a bit shocked as many years ago I talked with a man who had a few UFO sightings in his lifetime. He was 80 years old at the time but sharp and clear in his thinking. He told me of his fear that he had alien children and also had sketched three young children about 12 who looked very much like the ones Randy drew. I wish I had kept the drawing but it was over 20 years since I last saw this man and I was not yet gathering information in the fashion I try to do now and cannot find his sketch, I do recall the three children had large eyes were very thin and also spoke to him in his head.
I talked to one of the abductees that I interviewed over the last few years about what happened to Randy to find out if she knew of any others who had this experience. At once she burst in to tears and said “This man (referring to Randy) has lived my worst nightmare”.
She explained that her worst fear since she had started to be taken in her late teens was that one day she too would be shown children that were alien and half her flesh and blood and the thought has terrorized her for years, I did not know how to comfort her as I think all abductees feel the same way. Randy was just chosen for some reason to be shown what may have been his.
Maybe the reason Randy feels compelled to dive in to the unknown with his radio shows is due to his experiences with the unknown. Maybe his being shown the two teen beings was so Randy would discuss it and bring the idea of it out to the public to consider as the time for us to learn more truth in these matters starts to come closer and closer.
It is possible that the reason those like Randy are the ones taken relates to their biology and DNA as well as blood type. Many if not almost most abductees I have come to know all share the odd coincidence of having RH negative blood factor which is rare in the overall population but usual in the abduction population . You find other factors as well including eye color and family background origins, many have Irish family lines as well as other similar traits.
I think those taken are taken not for who they are as an individual but for the body chemistry. they were born with.That also explains why many abduction cases can be known to run in families .
Whatever Randy encountered that night I think it all adds up to the fact it is time we understand what is happening to so many people like Randy and start trying to research what is happening to them.
What Randy experienced as well as all who have seen an odd craft and all those who have had experiences they cannot explain is that this is not a TV horror movie or science fiction . These are not new movie trailers we are discussing or scary stories to entertain you.
We take our time to tell you these things as they happen to real people just like you all the time and we need to stop being so ignorant of things we do not understand and must start to try to grasp on to the fact that it is time to stop being ridiculous and start wanting to know what the hell is going on out there before it may just be too late.With knowledge and in strength we can continue as a species in ignorance and divided we will fail.
If only the world’s buried cities would rise up someday…but they won’t. They are almost impossible to find but stories about rediscovered cities once inhabited by a race of giants will always fascinate us.
Amazing discoveries require great efforts or an even greater amount of luck. If we’re to trust early 20th century journalism, we learn that serendipity led to the doorstep of the most famous underground city of giants.
According to an article published in The Arizona Gazette on April 5, 1909, the Grand Canyon was once home to civilization that most likely consisted of individuals of cyclopean proportions. If such a civilization ever lived, surely it would have left behind some structure as a testament of its existence.
The article mentions the discovery of an enormous underground citadel by an explorer named G.E. Kinkaid, who stumbled upon it while rafting on the Colorado River. It is worth mentioning that Kinkaid was an established archaeologist and had financial backing from the Smithsonian Institute.
The entrance to the city was at the end of a tunnel that stretched for almost a mile underground.
FIRST, I WOULD IMPRESS THAT THE CAVERN IS NEARLY INACCESSIBLE,” KINKAID WROTE. “THE ENTRANCE IS 1,486 FEET DOWN THE SHEER CANYON WALL. IT IS LOCATED ON GOVERNMENT LAND AND NO VISITOR WILL BE ALLOWED THERE UNDER PENALTY OF TRESPASS.”
[…]ABOVE A SHELF WHICH HID IT FROM VIEW FROM THE RIVER, WAS THE MOUTH OF THE CAVE. WHEN I SAW THE CHISEL MARKS ON THE WALL INSIDE THE ENTRANCE, I BECAME INTERESTED, SECURED MY GUN AND WENT IN.”
The architecture suggested the builders of the underground city possessed advanced engineering skills.
The central hub of the subterranean city was a mammoth chamber out of which passageways radiated like spokes on a wheel. The walls of the main chamber were adorned with copper weapons and tablets covered in hieroglyphic symbols, not dissimilar to those found in Egypt. Another finding that pointed to an Egyptian link were the mummified bodies, by far the most intriguing things inside the citadel.
No mummy measured less than 9 feet and all of them were wrapped in dark linen. Kinkaid wrote he had stood one of them up and photographed it by flashlight, but that photo is nowhere to be found.
Further exploration revealed something about the religion of the city’s giant inhabitants:
Over a hundred feet from the entrance is the cross-hall, several hundred feet long, in which are found the idol, or image, of the people’s god, sitting cross-legged, with a lotus flower or lily in each hand.
The cast of the face is oriental, and so is the carving of this cavern. The idol almost resembles Buddha, though the scientists are not certain as to what religious worship it represents.”
The article records the discovery of pottery and instruments, all bearing the signs of having originated elsewhere in the world. Such a melange of cultures is rarely encountered in archaeological finds, making this discovery one of unprecedented importance.
The last chamber that awaited exploration was what Kinkaid and his partner, Prof. S. A. Jordan believed to be a ceremonial crypt. It was located at the end of the large room where all the other mummies had been found.
There is one chamber of the passageway which is not ventilated, and when we approached it a deadly, snaky smell struck us. Our light would not penetrate the gloom, and until stronger ones are available we will not know what the chamber contains.
Some say snakes, but others think it may contain a deadly gas or chemicals used by the ancients.
The whole underground installation gives one of shaky nerves the creeps,”
Unfortunately, the article stops before giving more details about this crucial discovery. In fact, no other official mention of this underground city is ever made. Was it all a hoax or is there something more sinister responsible for the silence?
There are some who believe the story of the subterranean city of giants is true and that a tight lid has been carefully placed on top of the affair.
Conspiracy theorist John Rhodes once said he knew the exact location of the entrance to the city but that it was guarded 24/7 by soldiers carrying M-16 rifles. Another idea floating around the internet said that the underground city now serves as a museum for the shadowy ruling class.
Last but not least and mostly because of David Icke, many have connected the “deadly, snaky smell” with the presence of reptilian humanoids.
Needless to say, the Smithsonian Institute denied knowledge of the existence of such an enigmatic subterranean city, but their disclosure fails to convince everyone. The abundance of conspiracy theories built around the idea that the Smithsonian actively hides or destroys evidence in order to maintain the standard historical viewpoint does little to help the issue.
Due to an acute absence of evidence, it seems that for the moment, the story of an underground city of giants is just that – a story.

Funny how your life can get turned upside down just because you see something. Kenneth Arnold’s story is the story of a pretty straight guy. He was an Eagle Scout when he was a teen-ager. He worked for the Red Cross. He was an All-State football player in high school, with hopes of being a college star until a knee injury cut his football career short.
After college, Arnold became a salesman and learned to fly, combining the two by flying from small town to small town selling fire control equipment, eventually owning the Great Western Fire Control Supply Company. He was a member of the Sheriff’s “aerial posse”of Ada County, Idaho, he was a relief U.S. Marshall, and he sometimes flew prisoners to the Federal Penitentiary. Flying his light plane, a Callair, was the basis of his livelihood.
In other words, he was the perfect UFO witness: a solid citizen, honest and trustworthy, married, with two daughters.
On June 24, 1947, he was returning home from a business trip when he made a detour into the Yakima, Washington area to help in an aerial search for a missing C-46 marine transport plane that was believed to have gone down in the area.
At around 3:00 in the afternoon, he was flying at about 9,000 feet, near Mount Rainier, when a flash of light caught his eye. He turned and saw a procession of nine very strange objects flying from north to south in front of his plane. They were flat and rather heel-shaped, very shiny, and they moved erratically, like a “saucer would if you skipped it across water.” You can see Arnold’s drawing of what he saw here. Arnold estimated their size at about two-thirds that of a DC-4, and he calculated their speed at over 1500 mph by timing their travel between two mountain peaks of known distance.
When he arrived at Yakima, Washington, Arnold told several other pilots about his sighting. The consensus among them was that it was some type of military “secret weapon”. However, Arnold would later find that the U.S. military was as mystified by the objects as he himself was.
In Pendleton, Oregon, Arnold went to make a report to the FBI, but the local office was closed, so he talked to the editor of the East Oregonian newspaper instead and it was the editor who put the story on the newswires. Because of Arnold’s background and reliability as a witness, the story got wide circulation. Here’s Arnold’s report in his own words.
What did Arnold see? Skeptics said everything from clouds to blowing snow on the mountain, to droplets of water on his airplane window. Here Martin Kottmeter shoots down some of the early theories of what Arnold saw. More recent explanations include Phil Klass’ meteorite fragments and James Easton’s white pelicans.
The June sighting and the resulting hoopla were not the end of Arnold’s association with UFOs. On July 5th, 1947, Arnold was introduced to Captain E. J. Smith, who, along with his co-pilot and a stewardess, had seen a formation of UFOs over Emmett, Idaho. They hit it off well and became good friends.
In the middle of July, Arnold received a letter from Raymond Palmer, editor of the pulp magazine Amazing Stories. Arnold didn’t know who Palmer was, since he didn’t read the pulps. Palmer wanted Arnold to write down his experiences for publication in the magazine and he offered to pay. Arnold didn’t particularly care about the money and sent Palmer a copy of what he had already told the newspapers and the Army Air Corps.
Later in July, a couple of Army Air Force intelligence officers named Lt. Frank M. Brown and Capt. William Davidson had a friendly meeting with Arnold. He gave them an account of his sighting and they asked him to report any further incidents to them. Lt. Brown filed a report giving his impression of Arnold’s story.
