California Glowing Ball

Lake LA -- I was out in the backyard playing with my blue laser pointing it at a satellite when I saw a glowing light to the left of me because I was facing northwest. I thought it might be a helicopter or plane as they do fly in the area, but they have blinking lights that turn on over my town and you can hear the jet or heli engines. This was like a glowing ball so I turned off the laser to be safe. No marker lights ever came on and it looked like a star. No way could it be a plane as they do not have bright side lights like a star. It just looked like a gold glowing ball with no real solid surface. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Florida Diamond

Fort Ogden – On October 29, 2013, we were up on our balcony and looking out at the ball of light that’s there almost every night. We noticed it changed to look like three lights again. It then turned vertical and red and had like a nucleus appearance to it with numbers of lights. Like a pillar of allot of red lights with another red light spinning around it like an atom symbol. It was very strange; we had a perfect view of it through the binoculars and got a pretty good shot of it with the video camera. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Waterman -- My son, his friend, and I were driving east on Lee Road at about 8:10 PM, on October 25, 2013. I noticed a large shimmering reddish bright light that was larger than a planet. It was hovering for at least five minutes. I joked about it being a UFO because it hadn’t moved. Then it got brighter and fades. It was gone roughly 10 seconds and came back and got bright then faded to a pin point then did that one more time and disappeared completely. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Indiana Orange Lights

 Noblesville -- I was standing in my driveway and noticed a strange light in the sky on October 18, 2013. I am on the flight path to Indianapolis Regional Airport and see planes frequently but this “plane” was very low and caught my attention. It flew silently over my home without navigation lights. There was no mass; it was a wing, tail, body moving between me and any of the light.

I ran to grab my camera and by the time I returned it was behind a small cloud. I noticed another one crossing the sky behind my home!

I could see four lights just above the trees and I could hear police sirens. When I reached the back of my house there was 15 to 20 in a line of them! They passed right over me in total and absolute silence! Thanks to William Puckett, Director http://www.UFOsnw.com

Kentucky Flying Wing

Pendleton County -- Glenn Pennington here again, thought I'd share a few more pictures. I have several that I will send later that verify the theory about some UFO's being Biological Machines that show what appear to be living ufos with mechanical looking arms, legs ,or landing gear and other features.

Nevada Massive Egg UFO

 Carson City—I was flying to California from Illinois on October 20, 2013 looked out the window to see this massive egg-shaped object flying by the plane.

 I took pictures of it and then a video when the object changed direction. It started flying away from the plane so eventually it just went out of sight. Thanks to MUFON CMS

 LAS VEGAS -- At 630 pm, on October 29, 2013, I was standing on my patio and saw a bright star southwest of Las Vegas that I thought was Venus, but it was much bigger so I got my spotter scope and saw a circle of lights with many lights in the center connecting like a spider web and floating like a leaf but whipping in the wind. It was flipping and turning slowly over as it floated. It could not be a weather balloon because of all the lights. It was interesting and I have never seen any objects in the sky like this and a couple planes flew past this object so I wonder if any passengers saw it too. I lost sight of it as it got closer to the mountains southwest of Blue Diamond. Thanks to MUFON CMS

New Jersey Diamond Triangular craft

Mount Holly -- We heard a loud roaring noise outside our window at 5:15 AM, this morning on October 22, 2013, and I couldn’t figure out what it was. It sounded like a really loud jet engine taking off. We listened to it for a few minutes before we got up and see what it was. I opened the window and saw two large bright rectangular red lights hovering to the north. They were completely still, like nothing we’ve ever seen. We grabbed our binoculars and looked up at it. The craft was close so we could the craft was triangular with two large rectangular red lights and smaller lights. It hovered for about 30 seconds then slowly started moving south at the speed of a helicopter. We saw an outline of a circle on the top rear of it. North Carolina Light

Fuquay Varina -- My boyfriend and I were sitting on our porch on October 26, 201, when I spotted a glowing orb hovering in one place for about an hour. It changed into many different colors and changed shape. The UFO took off behind a tree line a lot faster than a plane could go as we videotaped. My 20 pictures and videos are time stamped because they were taken with my cell phone.

Oregon Orb

Sweet Home -- Since January 2013, I have been noticing a circular apparition in the sky to the west which I could see pulsating and changing colors. When I used my digital camera to maybe get a better shot and was surprised to see and capture color because it was in the winter months.

On October 21^st, I went outside to look at the full moon to the west and noticed the color changing orb seemed very bright and much closer! I turned towards the east and spotted another one above the treeline under the moon. There were more and I saw the object moving and a blue orbs. My camera is a Panasonic Lumix and I took more pictures showing the color changing orbs taking energy from a blue one. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Pennsylvania Light

Chalfont – I’ve noticed this light five times in the past three weeks that is not an aircraft. I live not to far from the Willow Grove Air Base and was able to watch this object for about 30 minutes on October 25, 2013. I went into the house and came out to check on it about an hour later it was gone. It seemed to grow extremely bright at times and then dim as it was rotating. It hovered for 15 minutes and then very slowly moved east. Many airplanes and a helicopter were in the area of this object. My husband was also puzzled by this object because it was several times brighter than the picture. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Tennessee Lights

Johnson City – I noticed the lights in the sky above the parking lot on October 26, 2013, and assumed it was a Halloween thing. I shopped for a half hour and went outside and saw it again. It have me chills. I drove a mile home and the lights are above my parking lot that creeped me out so I took video of it with my iPhone and my girlfriend, she says it’s The Northern Lights,

 My Dad said send it to you guys ASAP. My phone has been acting up since I took the video too. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Texas Large Object

 Houston -- I was driving home from work on October 24, 2013, at 6:20 PM. I was stuck in traffic and looked up and there was a stationary large glowing object so I called a friend and he also saw it and said it was stationary. I drove under it and looked up through my sun roof and it was silent and high up. Then a very low flying grey aircraft flew over and was also very quiet. My friend informed me I had to pay attention to the road that there were helicopters circling it. Thanks to MUFON CMS

 Wenatchee -- While my wife was watching the kids at the bus stop she noticed this object hovering at high altitude and sort of bouncing around on October 22, 2013. It didn’t make noise and was moving quickly. After a few minutes it just seemed to disappear. She felt shocked and a little confused on what she was seeing. She quickly grabbed the camera and took a couple of pictures.

Utah Orange Sphere

Brigham City -- Stepped outside around 10:30 PM on October 23, 2013, to smoke and noticed an orange sphere about 30 degrees in the western sky. It was traveling east heading over my house so I quickly reached into my pocket for my Samsung 3 cell phone and I was able to get a photo. I tried to put my phone in video mode but when I looked back up, it was gone. I don’t think it could have passed over my house. Thanks to MUFON CMS

I am a MUFON Field Investigator here in Utah and just want to report this sighting in case there are any other similar sightings in the area. The picture is not as bright or big as I viewed it and it might have been a lantern, but in our small city I have not observed this before. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Washington Triangle

Lake Stevens -- It was July 4, 2013 at 9:45 pm, and just dark enough to observe fireworks so I went outside to see a strange glowing object. It wasn’t acting like any normal fireworks, so I sprinted inside and grabbed my video camera.
When I came back outside and started recording, the light was slowly moving south silently. I figured it to be moving 2-5 mph tops. My heart was racing and the more I watched I began to realize it wasn’t normal and wasn’t a plane or helicopter. As I tried to film it disappeared like a light switch. It reappeared in the due east and twice is high the size of a tennis ball. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Phoenix -- I was getting ready for bed at 1:30 AM, when I realized this loud but subtle sound outside on October 22, 2013. At first, I thought it was a train, but it had a very powerful rumbling, low, deep tone. I checked outside to see what was really making the noise. I instantly noticed the UFO over the water, right above Titlow Park in foggy and a low cloud cover. It was 100 to 300 feet high with three lights in the shape of a triangle were very bright. They were white lights, and I was surprised that they were so easily visible. I stared out my window, shocked and excited and scared. This UFO moved from left to right very slowly over a period of ten minutes from west to northwest. At first it moved some, and then paused for a minute, and then it continued its path. At certain times it would fade into the fog, but I could still see it.

The triangle shape was not flat, so that I could see all three lights clearly in a perfect triangle shape. This scared me because it made it seem as if the UFO was watching me during its whole flight path. The UFO eventually moved northwest and disappeared. It scares me to know that it was something much more than a train, and that it was really a UFO making these noises. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Australia

Alice Springs – I saw a long strip of light starting in the western sky and flashing across the sky to the northeast and bursting into a blue flash bulb. It then disappeared on October 10, 2013 at 10.20 am.

As I was walking through the town area in the late afternoon I happened to look up as my attention was caught by this intense burst of light travelling almost as if it was a skyrocket but couldn't be because of the height of the object. As I watched the stream of white light, there was a burst of blue light like a globe exploding, and then it was all gone. Thanks to www.ufoinfo.com

Bulgaria Disc

Sofia -- These photos were taken at 10 AM Sunday, October 20, 2013, from my balcony. There are 12 more similar shots. On the pole there is a spotlight which was off at the time. The camera was a Fuji Fine Pix. I have no idea what the object was.

Note: Analysis indicates that photos are authentic and not fabricated. It appears that the object is behind the pole and not between the photographer and pole. Canada Orb

 Montreal -- I was shopping at the local grocery store along Champlain Boulevard in Ville LaSalle on October 23, 2013. When got into my car I noticed the sun with the usual chemtrails and decided to take a photo. I did not notice the orb until I opened the photo on my desktop when I got home. I don't know what it was and I would have noticed it but I did not want to look directly into the sun.

China Spheres

Shenzhen – A bunch of red and green colored led-lights were twisting high in the sky on October 21, /2013, at 18:51 hours! I saw two circles in the air, far away connected to a line of green laser dots. A red and a green circle made of colored spheres were spinning through each other. They were on for ten seconds and off from 22 until 45 seconds. When the light is off, you could see vaguely a white bend line with small white lights on the left and right side of the object.

Besides this there was a line of green dots that looked like some kind of laser that was always on shining from the object. The line was as seen from earth. I have made a video, but you can't see it very well. It moved slowly, I had to cross the street to see it again, and after 15 minutes, it was behind the buildings and I wasn't able to see it. Chile UFO Sighting Flying 'Manta Ray' Creature

 Santiago -- A recent UFO sighting in Chile is quickly going viral due to a "manta ray" flying creature being spotted by several eye witnesses.

The UFO sighting occurred on September 29, 2013, in Bustamante Park, According to first-hand eyewitness accounts, the flying creature was around 2 meters tall and was flying back and forth between trees.

"Ignacio, a young man who was the privileged witness to this brief yet disconcerting flying being sighting, does not wish to disclose his identity but made his narrative available to journalist [Juan Andrés] Salfate on Canal La Red," writes UFO Sightings Daily founder Scott Waring.

Costa Rica UFO Activity over Volcano

Arenal Volcano -- We were on vacation on September 15, 2010, at the volcano where there is UFO activity. My girlfriend and one of my uncles went to Arenal Volcano that has active lava flows every eight hours. The night before my girlfriend snapped the picture, we saw a white bright intermitting light come down to the bottom of the volcano and then disappear. A short time later it reemerged to the north over Arenal Lake.

The light went up and stopped half way up, then flew up into the clouds and disappeared. There were spotlights shining from the ground. Nasa has had a hanger at the Juan Santamaria International airport since the 1990′s and frequent sightings. Ken Pfeifer MUFON NJ www.worldufophotos.org

France large EMP discharge

Campagne Sur Aude – It appeared differently on camera than it did using a mono-scope and field-glasses on October 26, 2013. By far the most interesting event was possibly a rather large EMP discharge seen only on camera. This discharge followed a couple of smaller ones. As a former Senior Aerospace Research Engineer and private pilot this intrigued me the most and something that I had never witnessed visually. Each discharge radiates out in two invisible-to-the-eye waves from the center.

It also appeared that the flight crew was having great difficulty attempting to regain control of the craft as it lost altitude following each discharge. It did appear to regain a little more control and soon dropped down behind the mountain but its glow was strong enough that it could still be seen for many miles. 

Note that this event took place near the area of Bugarach Mountain and Rennes Le Chateau, both well known as possible energy centers. I would think that the military or police would have taken action to recover this craft that possibly made a hard semi-controlled landing but did not explode. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Iranian Air Force and Alien Craft Encounters

 Iranian jet fighters seem to have close UFO encounters of the 2nd kind on a regular basis over Iran. Our friend at Open Minds, Jason McClellan received a wonderful tip about an article published in the latest edition of Combat Aircraft Monthly, focusing in the history of the F-14 Tomcat in the Iranian Air Force. The article briefly mentions how the F-14s have been sent to intercept UFO's for the last 20 years; and even though the Iranians are convinced these unknowns are spy drones deployed by the United States, the flying capacity displayed by the objects in some of these encounters seem out of this world.

In one case in November 2004, the crew of an F-14 armed with two AIM-9Js and two AIM-7E-4s spotted a luminous object flying near the Arak heavy water plant. When the beam of the jet’s AN/AWG-9 radar “painted” the object, both the RIO and pilot saw that the radar scope was disrupted, probably due to the high magnetic energy of the object increasing the power of the reflected radar waves. The pilot described the object as being spherical, with something like a green afterburner creating a considerable amount of turbulence behind it. The Tomcat crew achieved a lock-on when the UFO was flying a constant flight path. Once the pilot selected an AIM-7E-4 to launch against it, the object increased its speed and then disappeared like a meteor. South Korea Oval

Seoul -- Twelve UFOs were spotted hovering north of Seoul before speeding off into North Korean restricted airspace. We were watching fireworks from a top a mountain with a large group and I looked back at my girlfriend and noticed something in the sky. It was very dim at first but a white oval shaped light. There were no navigational beacons and was moving too slow. Another appeared, then another eventually there were twelve of them, all in close proximity at different altitudes. Then they moved around again and started moving due north toward North Korea where nothing flies. They then stopped again and half of them disappeared. Port Louis -- I saw an object flying by our country on September 29, 2013, at 20:00 hours.

Machu Picchu -- The camera used was of low resolution, brand and model are: Canon SD1000 and only has 7.1 megapixels. My mother said they did not notice anything strange in the sky that day that everything was normal and it was in the picture I just realized, and this happened on the 29th July 2012. My mom and I are quite informed about this issue, but I can assure you that the photo is 100% real, and I’ve had experiences before. Thanks to MUFON CMS

: Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire – On October 26^th, 2013, I was a rear passenger driving towards Kirkby town centre at 2:45PM, when I noticed a silver thin rectangular shape appear in the blue sky at cloud base level. I was so shocked that I did not tell my fellow passengers because I did not want to alarm them. It had no visible wings or anything sticking out and I would say looked quite slender. UFO disclosure – UFO phenomena in Peru will be investigated by a UFO office

Mulder and Scully never made it to South America during their decade-long search for extraterrestial life, but if they had, they would have certainly found an ally in Peru. Indeed, the Peruvian Air Force is reviving their own version of the X-files: an office called the Department of Investigation

 

The DIFAA was originally created in 2001, first making the news when its chief investigator, Anthony Choy, began looking into the mysterious  ”Chulucanas Incident,” a series of events in 2001 that captured the imaginations of Peruvians for years afterwards. Choy describes the case at length in the video below, but here’s the short version: On October 13, 2001, in Chulucanas, hundreds of people observed  eight spheres of red-orange light moving intelligently through the sky for over five hours. A couple of weeks later, someone caught video of a bright, tear-shapred object about 80 feet long hovering near the city. A few minutes later, several others saw mysterious lights landing in the woods. It was the DIFAA’s first officially documented UFO case.

The office closed five years ago due to unspecified “administrative problems.” Now, the Air Force is reinstating it, in response increased reports of UFO activity. The office will document and analyze sightings of unexplained flying objects with the help of Air Force personnel, sociologists, archaeologists and astronomers. Colonel Julio Vucetich, the head of the Air Force’s aerospace division told the Guardian that new technology, like cellphones, Facebook and Twitter, have made it easier for the public to both share and accept UFO sightings.

Col. Vucetich doesn’t explicitly say he believes in aliens, but he doesn’t seem particularly interested in debunking them, either. In fact, Peru’s Institute for Studies of Historic Aerospace, is publishing a book of UFO sightings in Peru, based on news clipping and reports from the 1950s and 1960s. And with all of the new reports, there’s no shortage of material for a volume two.

In 2010, for example, a pilot caught video of a mysterious, helmet-like object emerging from a cloud bank. In 2012, a strange metallic object was captured on video in La Molina, while another steampunk-looking object was caught on tape as it twirled over some mountains. And this year, cellphone footage of a fiery UFO descending over Lake Titicaca made headlines, again.

Peru has been a hotbed of UFO activity for decades, not least because many suspect that theNasca Lines – an ancient collection of about 300  immense geometric figures carved into the deserts of Southern Peru — were actually chiseled into the landscape by ancient astronauts. It sounds far-fetched, but perhaps the DIFAA is willing to take on the case…

17 News received numerous reports about a mysterious bright light shining over the sky over Bakersfield, California for the second night in a row. The video of the news report is shown below.

This isn’t the first time this type of report has been made in Bakersfield though as a search brings up another UFO sighting there in December of 2012. That will be shown in the video news report below the most recent one.

This leaves the question of what the unidentified object is? Watch and see if you have any ideas.

WHY ARE ALIENS ABDUCTING US? by Dirk Vander Ploeg. STRANGE LOOKING UFO PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE SKY OVER COVENTRY, UK. by Jodie Richardson. Scanning the sky from my garden in Eastern Green, Coventry facing north with the sun behind me for safety reasons (as always) using Nikon 8 x 40 Binoculars to sweep the sky in a grid pattern covering the sky from North-east to North-west. Looking for unusual small dot-like objects, which may not be balloons. After around 45 minutes I caught sight of a suspicious, glinting object which was catching the sun-light and seemed metallic. It was very small i.e. tiny, no vapor trail was visible visually and it was moving upwards in elevation very slowly. More...

UFOS OVER NEW YORK CITY DESCRIBED AS 'CHARIOTS OF FIRE' by Cheryl Costa. In New York City, many people were at their windows and doors seeking relief from the day’s sweltering heat. The sky was clear, except for the occasional vivid flash of sheet lighting. At about 9:30 p.m., the sleepy evening’s peace was broken by an unexpected great luminance in the sky and the appearance of two great red balls of fire silently passing overhead. STRANGE OBJECT REPORTEDLY CRASHES IN VICUNA, CHILE by Scott Corrales. Resident of Vicuña and Valle del Elqui say that the object fell in a hill after zig-zagging for a few minutes. She has a high end phone that has a camera that can filter infrared. Another of the witnesses could not see the objects with his phone. By: Dave Olson, The Forum A routine bomber flight in the pre-dawn hours of Oct. 24, 1968, turned unforgettable for navigator Patrick McCaslin. McCaslin and his B-52 crewmates were practicing maneuvers in the skies above Minot, N.D., when officials at the nearby Air Force base radioed a request. “The tower called and said, ‘Could you guys keep your eyes open for anything unusual?’ ’’ said McCaslin, recalling that flight four decades ago. “We asked, ‘What are we looking for?’ “They said, ‘You’ll know it if you see it,’ ’’ McCaslin said. “This is a dim memory,” he added, “but I think one of the pilots said, ‘Are the missile crews seeing things again?’ ’’ McCaslin’s first move was to focus the plane’s radar into a narrow, high-intensity beam. “I saw a (radar) return off to our right; it was faint on the first sweep and then it was very strong on the next sweep,” he said. When McCaslin informed the pilots about the contact, they replied they couldn’t see anything because of cloud cover, but asked him to keep them apprised of what the object did. What it did, McCaslin said, was move faster than anything he had ever clocked on radar. “From one sweep (of the radar) to the next, it came from three miles to one mile,” he said. “Later, we computed the closure speed at 3,000 miles an hour.” From there, it only got stranger. “It blew my mind that this thing had closed on us this quickly,” said McCaslin, who recalled that as he advised the pilots of what the object was doing, the bomber lost radio contact with the tower. “We could hear them, but they couldn’t hear us,” he said. A short while later, the object dropped from the plane’s radar. Officials in the tower also watched the blip disappear from radar and asked the bomber to fly lower in an attempt to regain contact. As the plane approached the spot where radar contact was lost, the crew finally saw something. “The pilots indicated they could see it visually, just hovering above the ground,” McCaslin recalled. “They said to me, ‘Why don’t you unstrap and come up and take a look at this thing?’ ” said McCaslin, who decided to stick close to his ejection seat. “I didn’t know what this thing was.” Shortly after the pilot and co-pilot began observing the mysterious, glowing object, it rose quickly into the sky and disappeared. Long witness list While the bomber crew members were making their observations, workers on the ground were seeing something similar and reacting to alarms going off at one of the Minuteman missile silos near the Minot air base, said Bill McNeff, who heard parts of the story firsthand from a brother-in-law who worked as a security guard at the air base in 1968. McNeff, a retired electrical engineer living in the Twin Cities and a former director of the Minnesota chapter of the Mutual UFO Network, said the Minot incident was one of the things that inspired him to pursue decades of research into UFO phenomenon. His quest led him in the 1980s to the National Archives in Washington, where he poured over the files of Project Blue Book, the official U.S. Air Force inquiry into reports of unidentified flying objects in the 1950s and ’60s. “There were incidents (during the Minot episode) that did not make it into the Blue Book files,” said McNeff, who added the official record doesn’t reflect that two airmen passed out after a close approach from the UFO. He said a report that the lid of a missile silo was tampered with was also left out. “What I learned later is that the lid was completely off the silo and lying on the grass,” McNeff said. ‘Patternicity’ McNeff said the Minot case ranks among the most intriguing of all UFO sightings because of the number of witnesses and its proximity to a heavily guarded nuclear installation. Those factors don’t impress Michael Schermer. Schermer, the publisher of Skeptic magazine and founder of the Skeptics Society, shakes his head at any suggestion UFOs are anything more than earthly events that have yet to be explained. “What the public has done is equate ‘UFO’ with ‘extraterrestrial spaceship,’ but to date we don’t have a shred of evidence that any of the sightings represent extraterrestrial,” Schermer said. He said the Minot case, with its radar contact indicating an object that moved extremely fast, is interesting, but proves nothing. “How do you know it just wasn’t one branch of the military not telling the other branch of the military what they’re doing? That happens all the time.” Schermer has coined a term for why some equate UFOs with visits from outer space. “I call it patternicity, the tendency to find meaningful patterns in random noise,” he said. “Basically, our brains are wired to always find an explanation even if there isn’t one,” he said. “In other words, we have a low tolerance for ambiguity.” Vega schmayga McCaslin, who eventually became a pilot and later a high school science teacher in Texas, where he still lives, doesn’t know if what showed up on his radar that night 40 years ago came from outer space or inner space. But he said one of the explanations the Air Force came up with – that his bomber crew was looking at a star called Vega – is hogwash. Well, he actually used a stronger noun. And his irritation with the official story is still evident after four decades. “My business was to navigate with several means, the star Vega for one,” he said. “This thing was at or near the ground. How could it be a star if you’re looking at the ground?” When TV specials air interviews with McCaslin, his neighbors will approach him and ask if he believes in UFOs. “I’ll tell you what I tell them. I believe what I saw that night. I’m not ready to accept all the things that you see out there – about alien abduction and all that – because I didn’t have that experience. “It would be a leap in logic to say it came from outer space,” McCaslin said. “It could have come from inner space,” he said. “It could have come from anywhere.” Scientist says some UFO reports worth pondering Stories about a B-52 bomber’s encounter with an unidentified flying object in North Dakota in October 1968 pop up on many Web sites. In one posting, Twin Cities-based UFO researcher Bill McNeff relates what co-pilot Brad Runyon reported seeing in the early morning hours on that day 40 years ago. Runyon described an object more than 200 feet in diameter and hundreds of feet long. He said the object had a metallic cylinder attached to one end, with a crescent moon-shaped section glowing yellow-green connected to the cylinder. Many scientists dismiss UFO sightings as unremarkable. Many, but not all. “My perspective is there’s certainly something going on. I don’t know what it is,” said Bernard Haisch, an astrophysicist and author of more than 130 scientific publications. Haisch believes the UFO question deserves to be pondered by the scientific community, even if 99 percent of reports are explainable or hoaxed. “There’s still a huge amount of data that is potentially useful,” said Haisch, who operates a Web site called ufoskeptic.org. He defines “skeptic” as someone wary of extraordinary explanations for perplexing mysteries who is also willing to look at data. With the rise of string theory – which allows for the possibility of multiple universes – Haisch finds it odd that physicists are usually the first to scoff at the idea of visitors from other worlds. “It’s kind of a strange situation,” he said. Thomas McDonough, senior scientist with a group called The Skeptics Society, grew up believing in the paranormal, but gradually became a doubter. “There are so many ways people can be fooled,” said McDonough, who like Haisch is from California and has a Ph.D. in astrophysics. Absent tangible evidence, McDonough said he has concluded that the Earth is not being visited by aliens. Project Tin Tin PROJECT TIN TIN – INTERSTELLAR NANO MISSION TO ALPHA CENTAURI Project Tin Tin is an effort to lay the foundations for cost-effective technology and engineering validation Cubesat missions, leading up to the first interstellar precursor mission to Alpha Centauri. The objective of Project Tin Tin is to motivate interstellar exploration by pushing the envelope of what is currently possible for deep space exploration. The Project Tin Tin research team aims to design, model and pursue the launch of a set of nanosat-sized spacecraft, or “Tins”, with technical and scientifically relevant objectives starting as early as 2015 The mission objectives include: [1] Assessing current capabilities for near future interstellar precursor nanosat missions,  [2] The incremental space validation of enabling technologies in propulsion, power, communications, structures, fabrication, telemetry and sensors and  [3] To launch the first interstellar spacecraft on route to Alpha Centauri, by the end of the decade, beating Voyager’s ascribed 75,000 year time to arrival. Our first “position paper” announcing the initiative during the 63 International Astronomical Congress in Naples, Italy [1]. Background to the Project Fundamental to a scientifically meaningful and technically redeeming interstellar exploration program however, is a series of incremental interstellar pathfinder missions. History shows how such roadmaps can easily become derailed by the lack of nationally sponsored funding, policies and the requirements to validate advanced technologies by progressing them through Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), which often require many years of modelling and laboratory prototyping. Proposals such as the NASA/NIAC Realistic/ Innovative Interstellar Explorer [ 2] and several other technically feasible mission concepts proposed in the last decade, offer tangible scientific benefits using heritage technologies. In 2015, after its brief but meaningful encounter with Pluto, New Horizons will join the short list of interstellar probes alongside the Pioneer and Voyager spacecraft. There are no additional interstellar missions planned, and even Voyager-2, the fastest moving spacecraft, will not pass close to a neighboring solar system for hundreds of thousands of years.  Cubesats have been used in a wide number of reduced scope missions in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) utilizing miniaturized space technologies and affordable, commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment. Offering an attractive mass budget, efforts are underway to design lunar, asteroid and planetary exploration missions [3], using currently available launcher and propulsion technologies.  On February 26th, 2013 NASA announced, a series of new Cubesat Space mission candidates [4] to explore the cubesat technology roadmap.
