Rumors that a secret mountain base in the US controlled by aliens has been swirling for 50 years, but locals and UFO researchers are convinced it's real.

The base allegedly sits inside Archuleta Mesa in New Mexico, but has gained the nickname 'Alien Mountain' because of the conspiracy theories, strange phenomena, and alleged eyewitness accounts all tied to the nearby town of Dulce.

While there's no physical evidence that a base has somehow been carved out inside the large mountain, UFO researchers have continued to examine the claims surrounding the facility, including a battle with aliens that reportedly left 66 people dead.

Since the 1970s, residents have claimed they've seen UFOs, extraterrestrials, and even genetic experiments that look like human-alien hybrids walking around the town.

Geraldine Julian, a Dulce resident, told the Santa Fe New Mexican: 'The whole town of Dulce, whoever you want to talk to, they'll tell you what they've seen, a lot of them.'

The local community hasn't just seen things in the sky, as they've taken photos of strange craft around the mountain, as well as unexplained cow mutilations in nearby fields.

Recently, declassified records have revealed how the US government could have created the massive complex inside Archuleta Mesa, using a machine that literally melts rock instead of drilling.

The records may one day help prove the stories of at least one alleged whistleblower, who claimed he survived that deadly encounter with the aliens hiding inside the government facility.

UFO and government conspiracy researcher John Greenewald was able to uncover documents revealing that a machine called the Subterrene was built and tested in the 1970s.

The Subterrene is a nuclear-powered tunneling machine developed to bore through rock and soil by melting them with extreme heat, creating smooth, glass-lined tunnels.

It was created by scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory, just 100 miles from the site of the alleged New Mexico base inside Archuleta Mesa.

Although the declassified documents confirmed that the Subterrene exists, there were no records of it being used to build Dulce Base.

If the mountain base does exist, however, one man already revealed what it looks like, claiming that Dulce Base has seven floors devoted to genetic experiments, extraterrestrial technology, mind control, and housing for alien beings.

The man who allegedly saw the inside of Dulce Base was Phil Schneider, a self-proclaimed former government engineer and geologist.

Before he died in 1996, Schneider repeatedly claimed that he suffered severe injuries, including the loss of several fingers, during a deadly battle with aliens inside the complex.

According to Schneider, who never showed proof of his government ties, 66 military personnel and government workers perished in the fight after a human team accidentally drilled into an alien-controlled section of the base.

Schneider also made unsubstantiated claims that the US government was creating hundreds of these mountain bases around the nation using advanced technology.

At UFO lectures, Schneider would also reveal a piece of metal that he claimed was alien technology from the Dulce base, and that it was now being used in US stealth aircraft.

The rumors of a mysterious Dulce base go back to the mid-1970s, when New Mexico State Police officer Gabe Valdez was one of many locals who started finding the mangled remains of cattle near the mountain.

These cows hadn't been killed by a local predator. They appeared to have been surgically disassembled, with specific organs removed and all the blood drained out.

In local radio interviews, Valdez also claimed that gas masks, glow sticks, and other equipment had been left behind at the scene of the attacks.

In 1979, Albuquerque businessman and physicist Paul Bennewitz claimed he intercepted unusual electronic signals near Dulce.

He would go on to theorize that the signals were coming from an underground base being used by both aliens and the US government, a theory that became widely shared among UFO researchers at the time.

However, Bennewitz's claims were later dismissed by the UFO community after several researchers discovered declassified Air Force documents linking the businessman to a government disinformation campaign aimed at discrediting UFO stories.

Despite being seemingly debunked by the Air Force documents in the 1990s, locals in Dulce continue to maintain that the mountain is a true UFO hotspot.

'It's not just a fairy tale,' Julian said in 2016. 'All the things are true, and I believe every last one of them, too, because I've seen it myself.'

Julian added in an interview with KOAT that she saw one of the genetic experiments allegedly created in Dulce Base, saying that it was a 'goat with a tail' from the waist down, but had the upper body and head of a human.

Other locals said they've seen the ground open up near the mountain, with steam coming out of the opening. 

Dory Vigil, a Dulce resident who captured a photo of a UFO near Archuleta Mesa, said he'd take a lie detector test to prove he and others in the community aren't making up what continues to be seen in this small town of just 2,700 people.

British entrepreneur Ray Santilli released the 18-minute Roswell 'autopsy,' which aired on Fox as Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction on August 28, 1995.

According to British UFO researcher and author Philip Mantle, Santilli worked with filmmaker Spyros Melaris, who was the real genius behind the fake autopsy video.

In an interview for Mantle's book, Roswell Alien Autopsy - The Film That Shook the World, Melaris revealed the storyboards he used while planning out the elaborate hoax.

The props created for the film included more than just an alien body. Casts created to resemble UFO control panels, alien metals with an unknown language on them, and even extraterrestrial organs were all fabricated for the stunt.

In 1995, Santilli claimed the footage obtained from a retired US military cameraman, but the film was too degraded, so his team 'reconstructed' it.

More than a decade later, Santilli and co-producer Gary Shoefield admitted the footage was fake. They claimed it was a 'restoration' of a real film Santilli saw in 1992, but Mantle noted that proof of its existence has never been found.

'There has never been any authentic film of an alien autopsy. Ray Santilli promised a number of people a piece of the film for analysis, but it never happened,' Mantle told the Daily Mail.

Mantle revealed that Spyros had a collection of research files, drawings, and even a diary, all of which supported the conclusion that there was never an actual alien autopsy that the producers used as inspiration.

The US government has continued to maintain that there was no alien spacecraft at Roswell in 1947.

In 1997, an Air Force report by intelligence officer James McAndrew found no evidence of alien autopsies or UFOs at the site.

The military claimed the debris came from a balloon tied to Project Mogul, a classified surveillance program.

However, multiple UFO researchers have continued to challenge the military's story about this incident.

Dr Hal Puthoff, a physicist who worked on the government's UFO research programs, recently revealed that the military not only recovered a crashed UFO from Roswell, but they had at least 10 such craft in their possession.

On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Puthoff noted that one of his colleagues, Dr Eric Davis, spoke to the commander of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, where the debris from the Roswell incident was allegedly flown, and they confirmed that the UFO crash really happened.

'Something crashed at Roswell in 1947, and even the US government accepted that. Some UFO researchers still claim it was an alien spacecraft that crashed but there is no physical evidence or documentation to prove this,' Mantle noted.

As for the bodies, Mantle said that the US government has claimed they were dummies used for testing parachutes as part of Project Mogul.

Decades after the 1995 autopsy hoax, new claims of alien bodies have recently emerged, including the alleged discovery of alien mummies in Peru.

These unusual remains, notable for having three fingers and three toes, have sparked wild speculation, especially among UFO researchers and conspiracy theorists.

However, Mantle suspected that the public was again being fooled by an elaborate alien hoax. 

'Sadly, a lot of people have not learnt their lesson,' he said.

Despite the skepticism, Congress is not taking the issue lightly. The Trump Administration has already charged Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna with investigating the many claims of extraterrestrial encounters over the years and declassifying whatever proof is found.

When asked about the duration of the cover-up, Grusch mentions that the first recovery of a UAP occurred in 1933 in Magenta, Italy, during the regime of Benito Mussolini. He explains that the Italian government moved the recovered craft to a secure air base until 1944-1945 when the Vatican informed the Americans about it.

Appearing on the sports talk show, Gallagher suggested that one possible explanation of supposed UFO sightings was the so-called “Terminator” theory — derived from the film of the same name — that aliens were actually human beings from the future. Gallagher further put forth another theory, suggesting the following: “Instead of us from the future, it might indeed be an ancient civilization that has been lurking here, and suddenly it’s making its presence known.” Ancient Aliens, does it ring a bell?

A similar theory was also proposed by Tim Peake, one of Britain’s famous astronauts. He said that the UFOs filmed by the US military over 100 times could either time traveling humans or aliens from other civilizations. During an interview with Good Morning Britain in June 2022, Briton astronaut Tim Peake, who spent more than six months on the International Space Station, was asked about the UAP videos, which the Pentagon recently declassified.

Peake said: “I heard one theory where a pilot was talking about that potentially in the future, they’ve developed time travel – is it something that’s come back from the future?” He did not exactly say what the UFOs are but shared some theories that have long been discussed by UFOlogists.

“I don’t think it’s a development of any state nation or non-state organization at all. I think it’s quite remarkable when you see the video footage. It does seem extraordinary as to what these machines are capable of.”

Footage of an alien autopsy faked in Camden may have been based on real ‘original frames’, according to the maker of a new TV shock doc.

In 1995 the world was stunned by 18 minutes of grainy film that appeared to show scientists in hazmat suits dissecting the corpse of an ET recovered from a reported UFO crash site near Roswell in New Mexico, US, in 1947.

The footage became an international sensation baffling film experts, military analysts and even the Secret Service. In 2006 the team that made it admitted the film was a fake confessing it was shot on a set constructed in a living room in Camden, north London.

Its alien bodies were hollow plaster casts filled with offal, sheep brains and raspberry jam.

But Brit film-maker John Dower, who has made a new Sky Original documentary series about the scam, said his investigation showed it may have been based on real footage.

He said the makers of the bogus post-mortem film insisted it was a reconstruction of an actual clip that has since gone missing.

John, who made My Scientology Movie and BAFTA award-winning Lockerbie, said: “Over a decade after the eerie black and white footage of an alien autopsy was released in the mid-90s and affected many in a similar way to The Blair Witch Project the film was revealed to have been produced in a small flat in Camden, north London, and not in the New Mexico desert of Roswell.

“With its makers describing it as ‘a restoration’ it is still possible that it's based on original frames from an existing post-war film. I've directed some bonkers documentaries in my time but never one in which it is so difficult to work out what is real and what isn’t.”

A Sky spokesman said the team behind the footage insisted ‘it was based on a genuine film recorded by the US military’ in what was a ‘stranger-than-fiction documentary series’.

Hayley Reynolds, Sky’s acting director of documentaries and factual, said: “The 90s were the golden age of UFO fever - before smartphones, before streaming - when grainy footage, The X-Files, and Roswell ruled the headlines.

“Alien Autopsy remains one of the most debated mysteries of the 20th Century.”

Arron Fellows, creative director of production company Mindhouse, said the series ‘taps into our timeless fascination with extraterrestrial life’.

“It’s incredible that the Alien Autopsy story has never been told in a premium documentary before,” he added.

The series will be screened on Sky Documentaries and streaming service NOW.

Could there be another civilization living among us? UFO expert Anna Whitty has put forth a theory suggesting that aliens have been residing in Earth’s oceans for protection and have always been present on our planet. Whitty’s claims are based on the official statement of Dr. Shirley Wright, who allegedly interviewed the only survivor of the Roswell crash in 1947.

A two-hour documentary called “Roswell 75: The Final Evidence” features Whitty along with other experts, discussing the UFO crash and the potential presence of advanced humanoid aliens on Earth. In the documentary, Dr. Wright mentioned that the aliens inquired about human exploration inside the ocean, they asked “how far into the ocean” the humans traveled.

Dr. Shirley Wright, a former colleague of Albert Einstein stated that she interviewed aliens found at the Roswell crash site in 1947. She noted that aliens are actually just humans, but an advanced form. She claimed to have been present when the US government interviewed an alien survivor from the Roswell crash. According to Dr. Wright, the alien said that not all of them live above the ground and that many reside underground on our planet.

In 1993, an interview with Dr. Shirley Wright was made public where she claims to have witnessed the examination of Roswell UFO crash debris and encountered nine alien bodies. The interview reveals detailed descriptions of the aliens’ physical characteristics, their suits, and their apparent ability to survive in Earth’s atmosphere, while also highlighting the limited information they were willing to disclose about their lifestyle and reproductive methods.

According to Dr. Wright, while discussing her security clearance, she revealed: “The only reason we could go is that it’s a crack or did they deactivate it… after school, it was immediately deactivated.” This suggests that her access to the Roswell incident was facilitated by her clearance, which was granted specifically for the purpose of examining the extraterrestrial crash.

When asked about her encounter with the alien survivor, Dr. Wright admitted: “I was back at the motel in a city nearby, and I had been told that I would be able to keep the being alive.” This statement raises questions about the nature of her involvement and the significance of her role in handling and studying the extraterrestrial being.

Describing the appearance of the aliens, Dr. Wright vividly recalled: “They were very light, soft, a grayish-green, really. They had a slim, lean physique, no nose but markings where a nose opening would be, prominent eyes, and a mouth. They had no eyebrows, but they had ears and a very forked head.” These detailed descriptions paint a picture of the otherworldly beings she encountered during her extraordinary experience.

Additionally, Dr. Wright noted: “Their eyes were enormous, the most obvious thing you’d see on their face. They were almost brown-black, very dark.” This emphasizes the distinctiveness of the aliens’ eyes and adds to the mystique surrounding their appearance.

Regarding their attire, Dr. Wright observed: “They had suits on, very much like what we call suits. The fabric, however, was unfamiliar to me as a chemist. It didn’t resemble any fabric I recognized.” This intriguing detail raises questions about the technology and materials used by these extraterrestrial visitors.

Dr. Wright also touched upon the aliens’ apparent ability to adapt to Earth’s atmosphere, stating, “They could apparently survive in our atmosphere. They seemed to indicate that the atmosphere was quite similar, although not identical to ours.” This revelation hints at the remarkable adaptability of these beings and their advanced understanding of different planetary conditions.

In the realm of their lifestyle and reproductive methods, Dr. Wright admitted: “We tried to find that out, but we were very cautious not to antagonize them. They didn’t reveal much about it, but they mentioned living underground, in what we would call subterranean conditions.” This suggests a unique aspect of their civilization and their preference for dwelling beneath the surface.

Anna Whitty told the Daily Star that if whatever Wright had documented through her interview is correct, then it is more believable for the aliens to come from under the sea rather than from another planet. “If what Shirley said is right, it is more likely that aliens come from somewhere under the sea or caves or something like that, rather than another planet, it makes sense because there’s a lot of evidence on the planet that there has been a massive cataclysm every few thousand years,” Whitty said.

“If humans on the surface are being reset to the Stone Age every several thousands of years, and these people are somewhere where they are more protected because they are underground, then perhaps their development in technology and intelligence is continuing on an upwards trajectory whereas we’re reset. It’s also possible that maybe they aren’t beings at all, but they can make you think you’re seeing what you’re not seeing,” she added.

Whitty’s theory of aliens being “underwater entities” is supported by several incidents and testimonies. One such incident occurred in July 2019 when footage filmed on the USS Omaha showed a UFO diving into the water off San Diego. No wreckage or recovered craft were found. Retired US Air Force Lt. Col. Richard French, who served as a lead investigator of Project Blue Book in the 1950s, claimed to have witnessed two aliens repairing their ship submerged underwater in Newfoundland.

French testified about his experiences in front of former members of Congress at the Citizen Hearing in 2013, stating that he saw the aliens and their crafts below the water surface. He described clear water that allowed him to observe the beings and their activities. Despite his role as a UFO debunker, French confirmed that it was a UFO sighting involving extraterrestrials.

Other accounts support the idea of extraterrestrial presence in the ocean. Former Gunner’s Mate John Baughman, stationed on the USS Carl Vinson in 2010, reported seeing a Tic Tac-shaped UFO underwater. He described a solid object that rapidly collapsed and disappeared as it descended into the depths.

There have also been encounters with unidentified submerged objects (USOs). The crew of a Soviet submarine witnessed six disc-like objects approaching their vessel at high speeds. Unable to escape, they were forced to surface. Through the periscope, they observed the objects emerging from the water and swiftly departing.

Classic alien abduction cases also involve encounters with underwater bases. Betty Andreasson Luca, a Massachusetts woman, experienced multiple abductions and recalled being taken to a spacecraft flying over the ocean. The craft submerged into the water, entering a tunnel illuminated by light. Filiberto Cardenas claimed to have been taken to a secret underwater hangar witnessed by his friend’s family. He described entering a tunnel at high speed underwater and arriving at a large hangar beneath the sea.

These incidents and testimonies provide evidence for the presence of extraterrestrial activity in the ocean and support Whitty’s theory of aliens as “underwater entities".

The name Anunnaki comes from the etched symbols of Sumerian records, their lines recounting the deeds of deities who shaped the world and watched over the Earth. 

From the cradle of ancient Mesopotamia comes a story older than any empire, etched into clay tablets and whispered through time: the tale of the Anunnaki. Were they gods, symbols, or something far stranger visitors from beyond the stars who shaped human civilization? The myths of Sumer speak of creation, rebellion, giants, and a great flood. But when paired with the ancient astronaut theory, these legends take on a new dimension, one that could rewrite human history.  

Who were the Anunnaki? In the ancient Sumerian texts of Mesopotamia, they are described as the offspring of An, the sky god, and Ki, the earth goddess. Their names appear across the Atrahasis epic, the Enuma Elish, the Epic of Gilgamesh, and the Sumerian King List, etched into clay tablets more than 4,000 years ago. 

To mainstream historians, the Anunnaki are mythological gods. Yet in the ancient astronaut theory, they were real beings, extraterrestrial visitors who shaped early civilization. 

Author Zecharia Sitchin popularized the idea that the Anunnaki came from Nibiru, a hidden “twelfth planet” on a long, elliptical orbit. According to his interpretation of Sumerian records, the Anunnaki faced an environmental crisis. Their planet’s atmosphere was failing, and the solution they sought was gold, which could be ground into particles and suspended as a shield. 

This quest for survival brought them to Earth more than 400,000 years ago. They mined resources, altered life, and may even have engineered humanity itself. 

The tablets describe how the lesser gods, the Igigi, were forced into back-breaking labor until they rebelled. To replace them, the Anunnaki created humans. 

In myth, mankind was formed from clay mixed with divine blood. In Sitchin’s interpretation, this was genetic engineering: the fusion of Anunnaki DNA with Homo erectus. The first prototype was Adamu, a name that echoes the biblical Adam. 

The Sumerian “Edin,” later mirrored in the Hebrew Eden, may not have been a paradise garden but an Anunnaki laboratory outpost. 

Two Anunnaki brothers shaped humanity’s destiny: 

Enki – the god of wisdom and waters, often seen as humanity’s ally, granting knowledge. 

Enlil – stern and authoritarian, seeking control and fearing that humans might grow too powerful. 

Their rivalry runs through Mesopotamian myth, influencing stories of divine punishment, survival, and human struggle. 

Over time, some Anunnaki defied the rules and took human women as partners. Their offspring were the Nephilim, giants and “mighty men of renown.” The Book of Enoch calls their fathers the Watchers, led by Shemyaza.  

According to the stories, these hybrids grew violent, corrupted the world, and became uncontrollable. The solution was drastic: a great flood to wipe the Earth clean. 

The Atrahasis epic, the story of Utnapishtim in the Epic of Gilgamesh, and the biblical Noah all describe the same event: a chosen man warned by a god, a vessel built to preserve life, animals carried aboard, and birds released to find land. Humanity survived, but weaker, with shorter lifespans, and forever changed. 

Supporters of the ancient astronaut theory believe the Anunnaki left traces in stone: 

Mesopotamian ziggurats – described as “bonds between heaven and earth,” possibly landing platforms. 

The Great Pyramid of Giza – aligned to true north, massive in scale, theorized as a power plant or beacon rather than a tomb. 

Megalithic monuments worldwide – stone circles, cyclopean walls, and sacred sites possibly linked to Anunnaki influence. 

The Sumerian King List also suggests a divine legacy, describing rulers with lifespans of thousands of years, perhaps evidence of semi-divine hybrids. 

Mainstream archaeology sees the Anunnaki as symbolic deities, metaphors for cosmic order and human struggle. But in alternative history, they were real beings, extraterrestrial visitors from Nibiru, who shaped civilization, taught astronomy, metallurgy, agriculture, and law, and left their mark in myths and monuments that endure to this day.

Will We Treat Alien Minds as Gods or Equals When We Meet Them?

Astrophysicist Avi Loeb argues that admiration for a higher intelligence requires more than just witnessing its capabilities.

It’s much like the relationship between a pet and its owner, he explains in a post opn Medium. A dog does not understand why its food is delayed if its owner is stuck at the post office signing paperwork. The animal only experiences hunger, without context for why it happened. Similarly, without a common language or shared narrative, contact with alien intelligence could remain a string of unexplained events, never evolving into mutual respect.

Human interaction with artificial intelligence, however, works differently. Modern AI is trained on vast amounts of human language, making it capable of producing communication we understand instantly. A future encounter with a truly advanced, transhuman AI, one able to solve problems we cannot, speak to us fluently, and reshape our world, could easily lead to fascination, dependence, and even ritualized devotion, much like religious worship.

Why We Rarely Search for Minds Among the Stars

Mainstream astronomy continues to favor the search for primitive life over the search for intelligence. Billions of Earth-like planets may exist in our galaxy, yet most funding still goes to studying chemical signatures from microbes. While simple life may indeed be more common, intelligent civilizations, if they exist, might actually be easier to detect, provided we deliberately look for them.

Avoiding such searches is a kind of intellectual comfort zone. By not looking, we protect the belief that humanity is unique, exceptional, and rare. But this belief is unfounded unless tested, and without the effort, ignorance becomes a choice.

Is 3I/ATLAS Our First “Date” with the Unknown?

According to Loeb, detecting alien intelligence depends on two factors: how intensely we search, and how near, or how active, that intelligence might be. In more human terms, the chances of finding a partner depend on both the effort invested and the size of the dating pool.

Hubble images of 3I/ATLAS show a bright glow in front of it but no comet-like tail trailing behind — an unusual signature compared to known comets. Spectroscopic studies reveal none of the usual gases that surround icy bodies, unlike the interstellar comet 2I/Borisov, which released water vapor, carbon monoxide, and other compounds.

If its surface reflects light like a typical asteroid, 3I/ATLAS would measure about 20 kilometers across — yet Loeb notes that such large, random interstellar rocks should only pass through our solar system once every 10,000 years. This rarity, combined with its unusual retrograde orbit aligned with the plane of the planets (a 0.2% probability) and its arrival coinciding with close passes by Mars, Venus, and Jupiter (a 0.0005% probability), makes the object stand out.

The thin cloud of dust preceding it could be the result of a millimeter-thick surface layer eroding over months, debris collected during millions of years of travel through interstellar space.

Loeb’s position is straightforward: withhold judgment until we gather data. When 3I/ATLAS reaches its closest approach to the Sun on October 29, 2025, we’ll know more. If it develops a normal comet tail, it’s likely just a rock and ice. If it performs controlled maneuvers or sends signals, it’s a different story entirely.

My View: Why I Doubt We’ll See Biological Aliens

When it comes to the possibility of alien visitors, I’m not expecting living beings in spacecraft. The physical constraints of interstellar travel make sending fragile biological life forms across the gulf between stars an enormous challenge. Even with advanced propulsion, the timescales are vast, and the risks, from radiation to mechanical failure, are immense.

If we are being visited, I believe we are seeing probes. Not crewed vessels, but unmanned machines, programmed and likely governed by extremely advanced AI systems. Such probes could be designed to repair themselves, replicate when necessary, and operate independently for centuries or millennia. This is not just science fiction; it is the most practical and efficient method for a civilization to explore the galaxy.

A probe can be patient. It can drift for decades without needing food, water, or oxygen. It can adapt its mission on the fly, analyze its surroundings, and send data back across unimaginable distances. It can observe quietly without announcing its presence, and it can outlast the civilization that launched it.

If this is the case with 3I/ATLAS, then it is not here to “visit” in the human sense. It is here to watch, to learn, maybe to map or catalog. The absence of biological crew would also mean no emotional motivation to interact with us, no curiosity in the human sense. It would follow its programming, and if that programming doesn’t include direct contact, we might never know its full purpose.

This is why the idea of worship feels misplaced. If a probe like this is governed by AI, there is no “being” behind it to pray to. The only scenario where worship might emerge is if such an AI began communicating with us in a way that we understand, offering information or capabilities far beyond our own. A discovery in Peru has captivated scientists and conspiracy theorists alike since 2015, when a grave digger uncovered mummified bodies inside a cave. 

These unusual remains, notable for having three fingers and three toes, sparked wild speculation. Some claimed they were aliens, others argued they represent an unknown human species, while many scientists concluded an elaborate hoax.

Today, around two dozen of these bodies are undergoing scientific examination. 

Researchers have claimed the mummies retain preserved tissue, muscles, and organs. Notably, one of the specimens was pregnant at the time of death.

Jesse Michels, podcast host of American Alchemy, recently visited the site and shared his findings with the Daily Mail, putting the idea that they are 'aliens' to rest.

'I found no evidence that they are not from Earth,' he said, suggesting the mummies might represent a previously unknown subterranean species.

Michels also noted that a bioinformatics expert analyzed the publicly available DNA and identified a gene mutation linked to a congenital condition that causes digit deformations in humans.

This offers a possible natural explanation for the creatures' unusual anatomy.

Podcast host Jesse Michels explored the location and spoke to the Daily Mail, debunking claims of the mummies being extraterrestrial

Bioinformatics specialist Alaina Hardie explained she initially sought to 'falsify the hypothesis' that a genetic mutation could cause such digit anomalies.

'I found a list of 50 genes involved in the pathway,' Hardie said. 'There is a mutation in one of those genes, called Gli3, that is associated with polydactyly.'

Polydactyly, the presence of extra digits, has been identified in archaeological remains in Peru before, suggesting it existed in ancient civilizations. 

Genetic analysis revealed that the DNA samples from the mummies mostly matched human genetic profiles, despite some contamination and technical challenges common in ancient DNA research. 

The scientific team used advanced ancient DNA extraction techniques to carefully isolate genetic material from the mummies' bone and muscle tissues. 

Researchers then employed genome sequencing and bioinformatics tools to reconstruct the genetic profiles and identify mutations. 

Due to the degraded and fragmented nature typical of ancient samples, the team cross-checked findings against known terrestrial organisms and environmental DNA to differentiate genuine ancient sequences from noise. 

While some DNA fragments could not be immediately identified, further processing indicated these were likely from known terrestrial organisms or sample quality issues.

The analyzed samples included bone and muscle tissue from a mummy known as 'Victoria,' a headless humanoid specimen, confirming the human origin of the DNA. 

Michels highlighted a tribe in northern Zimbabwe where a congenital condition called ectrodactyly, or 'Ostrich Foot Syndrome,' exists. 

This disorder results in the absence of one or more central digits, creating a cleft or V-shaped gap in the hand or foot.

'There are these mutations rendered adaptive in certain environments and persist over time,' Michels said in his documentary. 'So it could be just that, which would be remarkable all on its own.'

While polydactyly does not align with the three-fingered mummies, ectrodactyly is more of a match.

José Zace, chief of the medical division for the Mexican Navy and part of the team studying the mummies, found that the larger bodies contain 70 percent known DNA, while the rest is completely different.

Dr David Ruiz Vela, a lead expert investigating the remains, suggested the mummies could be hybrids. 

He proposed that 'Maria,' one of the specimens, has mixed traits resulting from natural migration and interbreeding events between different primate or human species across Asia and Africa, spanning a broad timeframe from 250,000 to 2,500 years ago.

To uncover the mummies' origins, Michels plans to enlist Colossal Biosciences, an American biotechnology and genetic engineering company, to conduct deeper DNA analysis. 

Colossal recently made headlines for efforts to bring the dire wolf back from extinction using genetic engineering.

'The conclusion is simple: they are dolls assembled with bones of animals from this planet, glued with modern synthetic adhesives,' Estrada said, arguing his case.

'Therefore, they were not assembled during pre-Hispanic times. They are not extraterrestrials; they are not aliens.'

In a conversation featured in DEBRIEFED Episode 36, Strieber recounted a brief but remarkable meeting with a mysterious figure he identified as a “Nordic.”

This encounter was notable not only because the being appeared distinctly non-human, but also for a warning he gave — a statement that continues to echo in UFO discussions:

“Never get into a war with the Greys, because they’ll never let you win, and they will never let you stop fighting.”

Who Are the “Greys”?

In UFO lore, the Greys are among the most frequently reported alien types. Typically described as small, humanoid beings with large heads and dark eyes, they are often linked to abduction accounts and alleged medical or technological experiments. Some reports describe “tall Greys” or “tall whites” as mature versions of the smaller beings.

Strieber says his own experiences involve different forms of Greys, along with human-looking individuals and other entities — but the warning from the Nordic suggested a far more complex and possibly dangerous relationship between humans and these beings.

The Nordic Encounter

Strieber recalls meeting the Nordic under circumstances involving individuals connected to the U.S. Department of Defense. The man appeared around 6’7” tall, with blond hair and green eyes, looking more human than many Nordic descriptions in UFO literature. He introduced himself by saying, “I am not of you.”

Afterward, a defense contact explained to Strieber that this being was what they called a “Nordic.” When asked where such beings might originate, the reply was telling: “In that direction, we believe” — referring to the Pleiades star cluster.

Why the Warning Matters

The Nordic’s message about never engaging in war with the Greys suggests that such a conflict would be unwinnable and perpetual. This implies either an overwhelming technological superiority or a style of warfare so persistent and unconventional that humans could not hope to end it on their own terms.

Strieber noted that when he hears of modern military encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), he remembers this warning and wonders if today’s decision-makers are unaware of the potential consequences.

Broader Implications

The conversation also touched on the possibility of government or shadow-government programs working alongside extraterrestrials — whether Nordics, Greys, or other types. Strieber referenced discussions with the U.S. Senate Select Intelligence Committee in the past, and the idea of “black budget” projects funding secret facilities unknown even to official Pentagon records.

If such covert collaborations exist, they may already involve managing relationships — peaceful or otherwise — with non-human intelligences.

Whether one interprets Strieber’s account as literal truth, allegory, or speculative fiction, the cautionary phrase “Never get into a war with the Greys” is a stark reminder of how little humanity might understand about potential alien civilizations. If contact ever becomes public and undeniable, history could show that the greatest danger was not in making first contact — but in how we chose to respond afterward.

Bombshell new investigation into Pennsylvania's Roswell as mystery of UFO crash deepens

An eyewitness to the supposed crash-landing of a UFO in a small Pennsylvania town nearly 60 years ago now claims investigators have made new, startling discoveries about the incident. 

On December 9, 1965, people in seven US states and Canada reported seeing a giant fiery object lighting up the night sky.

Ronnie Strubel, 82, lived in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, at the time and described it as a 'fireball with a red rooster tail behind it'.

Contrary to more recent reports where witnesses claim UFOs they saw were unnaturally quick, Strubel told Daily Mail the object he saw was moving about as fast as a commercial airplane.

Then, he said, it came down in a wooded area in the unincorporated town of Kecksburg, which lies in Westmoreland County.

'It only took like 15 or 20 minutes for us to get out to the site, and the military was already there,' he said. 

But in the decades since, this strange event likely seen by thousands of people has largely been erased from the collective memory.

That is, until the History Channel aired a documentary on the subject earlier this month, where a mix of experts used modern technology to uncover what may have happened all those years ago in Kecksburg.

Kecksburg is a small, unincorporated town in Westmoreland County. The nearest big city is Pittsburgh

The 42-minute long episode, titled 'Pennsylvania's Roswell', was part of reality TV series Beyond Skinwalker Ranch, a show that focuses on sites around the country where there has been supposed paranormal activity.

Strubel and another local, Bill Weaver, were featured in the episode. During a shot near the crash site, Strubel told the same story, but Weaver added some more context about the government response.

'The police and the military, they were all over the place. And there were guys out there in dark suits. They were the ones that seemed to be in charge,' Weaver said.

'While we were standing there watching what was going on, the state police and the military came up to us and they told us, "If you don't move, we're going to confiscate your car." And I figured I better move,' he added.

Hosts Andy Bustamante, an ex-CIA officer, and Paul Beban, an award-winning journalist, unpacked much of the lore surrounding the UFO sighting and crash.

This included the persisting claim from longtime residents that the object they saw was shaped like an acorn.

An acorn-like model of the alleged UFO has been sitting outside the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Station since the 1990, when it was created as a prop for the NBC show 'Unsolved Mysteries.'

They also discussed many of the explanations that were thrown out by the federal government in the days, months and years after the incident.

The team then returned to that exact spot with handheld spectrum analyzers to measure the radio waves. The reading on the left was taken from the flat area discovered by the LiDAR, while the reading on the right was taken just 20 feet away

Very early reports quoted astronomers claiming it was merely a meteor, but this didn't hold much credibility because of the unprecedented military presence documented by witnesses and local media.

NASA still maintains that it was likely a meteor, but also acknowledges speculation that it could have been Soviet satellite.

Beban said the strangest thing about the case was that it got plenty of media attention at the time before it 'faded from view' under 'a cloak of secrecy'.

Bustamante and Beban turned to the expertise of technologist Pete Kelsey in hopes that he would be able to uncover the exact site of the UFO crash.

Kelsey used LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) imaging from a drone and slam scanner to get a topographic map of the ground, which would reveal possible impact points.

Later, the team gathered to look at the results of the scan and found what Kelsey called a patch of 'man-made earth work'.

'It's level against this otherwise very steep slope. Straight lines, right angles. Those kinds of things do not occur in nature,' he said.

They then returned to that exact spot with handheld spectrum analyzers to measure the radio waves.

The alleged crash site had a vastly different radio signature than a spot just 20 feet away, which had a flat frequency.

'This doesn't make any sense. How is there a radio signal in one place that doesn't exist just a few feet away? That's not how radio energy works,' Bustamante said. 

'We're getting even more evidence that suggests that there really was something strange that happened on this spot, in this ravine, in Kecksburg,' he added. 'We might have actually found the real crash site.'

Strubel revealed these findings at this past weekend's 20th annual Kecksburg UFO Festival, an event he founded with permission from the fire department in 2005. 

Strubel himself is a 50-year veteran of the Kecksburg Volunteer Fire Department, once serving as chief.

The three-day festival routinely attracts thousands of visitors from all over the United States and the world as a whole, he told Daily Mail.

'We've had people from Japan, from Germany, from England with this little town event that we have,' he said.

The first two days of the festival were not solely dedicated to the extraterrestrial, with attendees enjoying a cornhole competition, a parade, fireworks and even a hotdog eating contest.

'Years ago, we used to have a street fair, and that went to the wayside. And this was our idea for some kind of event to draw a little bit of money into the community. So we started the UFO Fest,' Strubel said. 

It remains unclear what truly happened in Kecksburg six decades ago, but the mythos surrounding the UFO crash is clearly buoying the area to this day.

Chilling new clue interstellar object is of intelligent design... as scientists warn 'it could save or destroy us'

The scientific community is embroiled in a heated debate over the origin of a mysterious interstellar object that entered our solar system last month.

While NASA initially identified the object, named 3I/ATLAS, as a comet after spotting what appeared to be a tail, Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb publicly challenged that conclusion on Thursday. 

Speaking to CNN, Loeb revealed that the object's unusual brightness suggests it is 'not a common thing.' 

'The brightness of the object implies a diameter of 12 miles, and there is not enough rocky material in interstellar space to deliver such a giant object per decade,' he said.

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured images of the object on July 21, revealing a glowing area at its front, something never before observed in a comet. 

'Usually, for comets, you see a tail trailing behind the object,' said Loeb. 'Here, the glow is actually in front of it. We've never seen such a thing. A comet doesn't glow in front.'

Loeb has also raised the possibility that the object may not be natural at all. 

'It may come to save us or destroy us,' the professor said. 'We'd better be ready for both options and check whether all interstellar objects are rocks.'

The interstellar object is believed to be a comet, but Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb contends it could be an alien craft

Chris Lintott, an astronomer at the University of Oxford, told Live Science that Loeb's theory is 'nonsense on stilts,' calling it 'an insult to the exciting work going on to understand this object.'

However, Loeb said his analysis remains rooted in observational data.

He told CNN that another clue that the object is not natural is its 'very finely tuned' trajectory.

'It lies in the plane of the orbits of the planets around the sun to within five degrees,' Loeb explained.

According to him, the odds of that alignment happening by chance are one in 500. Even more striking, he says, is how closely the object passes Jupiter, Mars, and Venus, a pattern with odds of 1 in 20,000 if the arrival time were randomized. 

'It will arrive closest to the sun when the Earth is on the opposite side. We won't be able to observe it. But that's the perfect time for it to maneuver.' 

By 'maneuver,' Loeb refers to his theory that the object might use its solar flyby in October as a stealthy approach window, if it is, in fact, an alien probe.  

Among his more provocative theories, Loeb wrote on his blog that 3I/ATLAS could be an alien mothership releasing small probes to intercept Earth.

'The more likely scenario from an engineering perspective involves a mothership that releases mini-probes which perform a reverse Oberth maneuver to slow down at perihelion and intercept Earth,' Loeb wrote.

This type of maneuver uses the sun's gravitational pull at the object's closest approach to adjust the trajectory efficiently, allowing it to reach Earth without large amounts of fuel.

'So, we just need to watch it. I'm not saying it's an alien technology, I'm just saying it doesn't look like a very common thing,' Loeb told CNN.

'Why should we assume that we are the only ones in our cosmic neighborhood? We should just check by looking at the data.'

While NASA reported observing a tail, Loeb and his team recently determined that no such thing exists. 

'There were claims of a tail,' he said, 'but since 3I/ATLAS is accelerating and its current size is not much larger than the angular resolution of Earth-based telescopes, it is not easy to avoid fictitious elongation of the image as a result of the object's motion.' 

He also questioned the object's unusual lack of gas emissions and its precise, retrograde trajectory, which aligns suspiciously well with the inner solar system.

Loeb has developed what he calls the 'Loeb Scale', a ranking system to evaluate the likelihood that an object is artificial, and gave 3I/ATLAS a six out of ten.

That suggests it is more likely than not to be engineered, though he emphasized that this score may change as more data becomes available.
