Two former military technicians have claimed a UFO WAS caught on radar and seen from the control tower of RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge as well as in Rendlesham Forest, near Woodbridge, in Suffolk.

The claims are made in a new documentary which tries to tie up evidence linking UFO and alien visitations with nuclear facilities on Earth.

UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed, which is available to view online on Vimeo, is the culmination of years of investigation by researcher Robert Hastings, who penned the book UFOs and Nukes: Extraordinary Encounters at Nuclear Weapons Sites.

The film makes the case that alleged UFO crews have maintained a consistent interest in nuclear facilities on Earth.

There have been numerous alleged sightings by serving and former military personal and other witnesses of supposed UFOs over such installations for several decades.

The documentary says that nuclear weapons were being stored at Bentwaters at the time of the Rendlesham incident.

It has been dubbed Britain's Roswell after the mystery and infamouus UFO crash that allegedly happened outside the town in New Mexico, USA in July 1947.

The RAF bases were leased by the USAF at the time.

The UK alien sighting happened when three US officers based at RAF Bentwaters claimed a "triangular shaped craft" landed in neighbouring woods in the early hours of December 26 1980.

Retired Colonel Charles Halt, 76, who was base deputy commander at the time, claimed the officers who first saw the lights, and then a UFO "on the floor", could not account for a 40 minute period while searching in the woods when their communication systems went "off air".

The three officers - John Burroughs, Bud Steffens, and James Penniston, later told of feeling "static" as they observed the object's flashing lights and hieroglyphic-like markings.

Mr Halt then said on the evening of December 27 1980 that officers had shouted: "It's back, the UFO's back."

Mr Halt went to investigate with a team who found three 1.5inch "impact holes," damage to the canopies of trees and "higher radiation levels" in the "landing" area.

A plaster cast was later taken of one of the holes, but mysteriously disappeared from a box it was stored in.

He said soon after they saw a mysterious object in a field between the woods and a farmhouse with "a red light moving."

He said: "It came towards us into the forest, moving, bobbing up and down in the trees. It was oval, about 100 to 150 yards away, with a dark centre and red around it."

He claimed there were "sparks" coming from it and after a minute it "exploded and disappeared."

They then spotted objects in the sky, 3,000 to 4,000ft up.

The case was later investigated by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), but it concluded there was no evidence of alien visitations or any national security risk, and the sightings were most likely the result of beams of light from a nearby coastal lighthouse.

The new claims in the film appear to back up those made by Mr Holt last July when he appeared at a Rendlesham UFO conference, in Woodbridge, Suffolk, to mark the 35th anniversary of the sighting last July.

The new documentary says, at the time, RAF Bentwaters was the "largest American tactical nuclear bomb depot in Europe".

In an interview with Open Minds UFO Radio, Mr Hastings said in 2006 he noticed there had never been any testimony from air traffic controllers at the time about anything being caught on radar.

He tracked down who was manning the radars and control tower at the time and identified them as Jim Carey and Ike Barker.

The pair reveal their testimonies in the video for the first time, claiming a UFO was caught on radar, and that they saw it.

Mr Carey described seeing an object on radar when Mr Halt was in the forest. 

He said: "I was just sitting there and I happened to see a dot come on the scope, and it just went one dot in the beginning, and another dot, another dot, and it was gone.

“All of a sudden, here it come back across again.

“It went one, two and then an immediate right hand turn and came right towards the base. I just said that can’t be one of ours. No jet at that speed can make an immediate right hand turn. Just absolutely phenomenal.”

Mr Barker said: “It’s not like any radar target I have ever seen. When the sweep would hit the target, you would have the entire back of it would be like a solid line.

“Traveling at an extremely high rate of speed, it passed over the control tower and then it stopped. I’ve never seen anything in my life like the manoeuverability that happened with this object.” 

He said it was “orangish”, adding: “It sort of popped into my mind at the time that somebody is flying a basketball out here.

“There were lights around the centre of it, but it wasn’t like running lights or navigational lights. It was more like portholes, and you were seeing the light from the inside coming out. It wasn’t flashing lights or anything. 

“It hovered momentarily, reversed its course, and went back out at a high rate of speed.”

The documentary also reveals documents originating in the former Soviet Union that it claims show similar UFO events at nuclear bases happened there.

Christopher Mellon, who served for almost twenty years in the US federal government in a series of national security positions roles under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W Bush, has spoken publicly for the first time about his knowledge of the US Government's involvement with aliens and UFOs.

Mr Mellon, who had high-level clearance, was on a committee with oversight of all Department of Defence (DoD) special access programmes and spent a decade on the Senate Intelligence Committee, has given rare answers to detailed questions on the subject as interest in the UFO subject continues to rise globally.

Mr Mellon, who in a gamekeeper-turned-poacher move joined the board of a serious UFO investigation body six months ago, described his frustration at the government's lack of proper investigation of what he described as inexplicable UFO sightings.

And his detailed answers to a series of questions from the board of UFO Data have been made public by the organisation.

In a recent Q&A interview, published on Huff Post, Mr Mellon, who received a string of service awards, including the National Reconnaissance Office Gold Medal, told how a "breathless naval aviator" called him to report seeing a Naval jet land after it was circled by a UFO in broad daylight. 

Mr Mellon said: "The Navy did not pursue the issue as far as I could tell. 

"I also recall the Maui Optical Tracking Facility, which tracks satellites, recording a flight of four or five fiery UFOs traversing the night sky.  

"Nobody knew what to make of it. But no government official expressed the slightest interest even after the tape was featured on ABC’s 'Nightline'.  

"I found the utter lack of scientific curiosity due to political correctness highly frustrating." 

He said in 2006 pilots and airport staff saw a "disc-shaped object hovering over O’Hare airport.... for over five minutes.

"Yet no government investigation was undertaken," he said in the interview. 

Mr Mellon is now calling for a proper scientific investigation of the existence of UFOs and aliens.

He said: "I think we have to ask ourselves a key question, and then bring it forward. 'Are there UFO cases that are sufficiently well-documented to warrant a scientific investigation of the phenomenon?' In my view, the answer is yes.

He believes the number of credible witness reports over so long, coupled with accounts from military and police personnel and the amount of recorded footage and independent radar data correlates too closely with reported sightings to ignore.

He said: "When someone you trust and respect, like a naval aviator, looks you in the eye and tells you he saw something truly extraordinary at close range, it’s hard not to take his testimony seriously. 

"It is arrogant, unreasonable and unwise to dismiss such reports. We should simply and impartially follow the trail wherever it leads."

But, despite his frustration at investigations not being conducted by the authorities into UFO sightings, he is convinced the alleged US government cover-up over UFO sightings is not happening.

For years, alien chasers have accused world leaders and space agencies like NASA of knowing aliens visit the Earth, but refusing to tell the general population for fear of the impact it may have on religion and public order.

But Mr Mellon suggested it was quite the opposite, with little or no interest in the subject from within the corridors of power.

He said: "I highly doubt DoD or any other government agency is concealing UFO information."

But Mr Mellon poured cold water on these theories.

He said: "I spent over a decade conducting oversight of the national foreign intelligence programme, an almost totally separate world of secrets.

"During all those years I never detected the faintest hint of government interest or involvement in UFOs."

NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan said "strong indications of life beyond Earth" would likely be obtained within the next decade.

But it has been interpreted as a cryptic code for an imminent disclosure, as soon as this year, by leading ET conspiracists.

Ms Stofan said: "I think we’re going to have strong indications of life beyond Earth within a decade.

"I think we’re going to have definitive evidence within 20 to 30 years.

“We’re on the verge of things that people have wondered about for millennia. Within all of our lifetimes we’re going to understand that there is life on other bodies in the solar system. We’re going to understand the implications of that for life here on Earth.”

But, whereas the NASA chief was likely referring to signs of the earliest forms of life, such as single-celled organisms in space, the conspiracy community has taken the remarks a giant leap further.

In a posting on Conspiracyclub.com, the website argued: "Most people 'in the know' realise that NASA is just part of the military industrial complex, but a recent open admission on mainstream news that 'there are indications of alien life' is likely the beginning of a bid to get your undivided attention before full-forced disclosure ensues.

"It isn’t going to take that long if we open our eyes."

The website report suggested that rather than being on the brink of an historic discovery, the world's leaders have been hiding the existence of aliens from us for years.

The post added: "What we’re going to understand is that our 'secret' government has been hiding this fact for ages. 

"Our shadow government has been lying about off-planet corporate slavery rings, alien abductions, benevolent beings who can only do so much until our collective consciousness elevates, and much, much more.

"We will learn that aside from extraterrestrial beings visiting our planet and many different ET races tinkering with our DNA over millenia, there are ancient humanoid races that are more than 10million years old."

The woman even claimed to have been abducted by aliens in a UFO during her ordeal, www.express.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

Details of the Delta Force Afghanistan veteran commander's extraordinary allegations against the military and US Government emerged after the US Naval Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS) released part-redacted documents following a probe it carried out into the claims of harassment.

The US Delta Force is a US Army unit similar to the UK SAS and used for hostage rescue, including the October 2015 release of 20 prisoners from an Islamic State (ISIS) prison near Hawija in Iraq, counterterrorism, and assassinations or surveillance of high-value targets.

The allegations bears startling similarities to the murder of former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko, 43, who is believed to have been killed by the KGB on orders of the Kremlin and died from uranium poisoning in London in 2006.

It also resembles plots from US TV CBS series Homeland in which special agent Carrie Mathison played by Clare Danes has suffered a number of mental breakdowns, and Person of Interest whereby subjects of surveillance are followed by cameras. 

The woman, whose name has been redacted from the report along with other personal details, made the complaint on September 5 2013 at NCISRA Camp Pendleton in California.

Other allegations were that she was beaten and had emails hacked and deleted, according to the papers obtained by John Greenewald of The Black Vault UFO investigative website.

They received the report after asking the NCIS for all information it held about UFOs and aliens.

The released report said the woman: "Claimed upon her return from a deployment with the US Army Delta Force in Afghanistan she became ill.

"(She) stated she was infected with a nano-partical which was provided to her via food, vaccines, and through the air because she had knowledge of a friendly fire incident wherein a soldier was killed in action.

"(She) stated after an illness caused from (redacted) she was returning home from work in Los Angeles, california, to Burbank, when she noticed she was being followed.

"(She) claimed she was being followed by a US drone or unidentified flying object (UFO)."

The woman, who rose to the rank of commander and held secret security clearance at the time of her complaints, claimed she photographed the "drone" but did not have them available when she was interviewed by investigators about her complaint.

Investigators reported a series of bizarre experiences she claimed to have had, which cast question marks over her sanity, after taking up mediation to "calm her ongoing illness and government tracking of her."

These included an out-of-body experience during meditation, when she claimed to ascend into a space craft, meeting an alien calked Ashtar who claimed "they war eloping for her," and being burnt on the legs by an "electro-magnetic pulse weapon."

The woman said in June 2013 she was travelling to be promoted from Lieutenant Commander to the rank of Commander when she went to Virginia Beach because it was the last place she saw her "soul mate," a US Navy Seal Team 6 member who was killed on duty in Iraq. 

Members of that elite squad famously took out Osama bin Laden.

But she visited the Hampton Inn, had an alcoholic drink, then swam in the sea, where she had an out-of-body experience and removed all her clothes, it said.

Police arrested her for indecent exposure and she spent six days in a cell, it said.

She was then transferred to the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Investigators said they contacted the medical facility in question, which confirmed staff thought she was not taking medication.

The report said an unnamed person said the veteran "will be processed for separation from the US Navy."

But staff at NCISRA Camp Pendleton chose not to investigate further after interviewing her.

Instead, the report said two personnel informed her "due to the location these incidents have occurred," they had no jurisdiction, and she needed to report it to counterparts in those areas.

It is not clear from the report if the woman took her complaint elsewhere or what became of her.
