Area 51, Facts, Secrets, Things You Did Not Know About

    AREA 51 FACTS & SECRETS

With all the secrecy shrouding Area 51, it's time for some light to be shed. Learn more about the nicknames, entertainment, food, spy planes, and rumors surrounding this infamous site.

On August 15, 2013 the CIA finally acknowledged the existence of Area 51. After repeated freedom of information request made by George Washington University the CIA lifted the veil of secrecy on Area 51.

On December 8, 2013 President Obama makes an off hand comment about Area 51, becoming the first President to publicly acknowledge its existence. This does not mean they are talking openly about UFOs and military secrets but it does open the door for lawsuits and additional freedom of information request from the public.

The name ‘Area 51’ derives from its marking on 1950’s Nevada Test Site maps. Today, the official name of Area 51 is Air Force Flight Test Center, Detachment 3, or AFFTC Det. 3 for short. For years even our own government denied its existence until Soviet pictures confirmed what many knew all along. The base did exist. The facility was originally designed for the testing of U-2 spy planes, and ultimately Stealth technology would be born there. The secret site has grown to many times its original size. The USAF took over command of Area 51, and its airspace in 1970.
    • Area 51 was also referred to as Groom Lake (the name of the dry lake Area 51 was built around), Paradise Ranch (a half-serious way to entice employees to accept positions at the remote, rustic base), Watertown (the official name of the test site, given in 1956), and Dreamland (after an Edgar Allan Poe poem).
    • Area 51’s nickname DREAMLAND was allegedly derived from an Edgar Allan Poe poem by the same name. It admonishes that “the traveler, traveling through it, may not-dare not openly view it; Never its mysteries are exposed, to the weak human eye unclosed.”
    • The first known use of the area was the construction in 1941 of an auxiliary airfield for the West Coast Air Corps Training Center at Las Vegas Air Field. Known as Indian Springs Airfield Auxiliary No. 1, it consisted of two dirt 5000' runways.
    • Under President Dwight Eisenhower the Groom Lake facility was put in the hands of the CIA for Project Aquatone, for the development of the Lockheed U-2 reconnaissance aircraft in April 1955.
    • This mysterious fortress and its surrounding grounds are strictly off-limits. What secrets are kept inside this highly guarded facility? The rumors abound. Yes, there have been pictures of craft doing amazing maneuvers over these guarded skies and pictures and video smuggled from inside have become legend. These smuggled articles show living and dead aliens, spacecraft of futuristic design, but still the government denies these claims.
    • Helen Frost, whose husband Robert died in 1988 from the fumes, filed a lawsuit against the government in 1996 but the case was dismissed by the judge because the government could neither confirm nor deny the allegations, and it was also stated that the base is exempt from any environmental laws.
    • During the 70's and 80's the workers at Area 51 were exposed to jet fuel toxins like JP7. Supposedly old computer parts were also burned in trenches. The workers were ordered to go into the trenches and mix up the material and were only allowed to wear protection up to their waist.

    The A12 Oxcart

    • When Area 51 was chosen as the testing site for the A-12 OXCART, a new, 8,500-foot runway had to be built. So as not to draw attention, contractors worked under cover of night.
    • Flying at 2,200 mph, it took OXCART pilot 186 miles just to make a U-turn. To accommodate the plane, an additional 38,400 acres of land around the base had to be withdrawn from public access and the restricted airspace expanded to create a 440-square mile box.
    • Early on, the only entertainment at Area 51 consisted of a single cement tennis court and a small bowling alley. There was no television, and radio signals only made it through the surrounding mountains in the evening.
    • The Area 51 mess hall sometimes served lobsters and oysters. Once a week it was steak night.
    • There is a sliver of truth to the conspiracy theory that the moon landing was staged at Area 51. Various space equipment – including land rovers and life support systems – were tested by the astronauts at the adjoining nuclear testing grounds.
    • Area 51 has not been spared by the downturn in the economy, it is estimated that there are 1600 to 2000 employees working at the  military facility involving at least a dozen defense contractors as of 2013. This is down by 200-400 employees since 2012.
    • A recent poll showed that 70%+ of Americans believe that UFOs are real.
    • After an increase in UFO sightings in 1952, the CIA concluded that “there is a remote possibility that they may be interplanetary aircraft,” and that it was necessary to investigate each sighting.
    • 90% of reported UFO sightings could be easily debunked, while the other 10% were “a number of incredible reports from credible observers.”
    • Over half of all UFO reports from the late 1950s through the 1960s were accounted for by manned reconnaissance flights (namely the U-2) over the United States, virtually all originating from Area 51.
    • The A-12 OXCART required special fuel in order to fly at such extreme speeds and heights. The fuel was made to withstand extremely high temperatures and would not ignite even if someone threw a match into a barrel full of it.
    • The OXCART cruised at 2200 miles per hour, but because the plane was secret it was kept out of official speed competitions.
    • The A-12 OXCART consisted of more than 90% titanium. It was the world’s first titanium plane.
    • An A-12 spy plane was used when the USS Pueblo was captured by North Korea to photograph the area and determine the ship's location.
    • The OXCART's engines acted as vacuum cleaners, sucking up any debris left on the runway. So personnel would vacuum the runway before each test flight.
    • The Air Force has acknowledged the existence of the Nellis Range Complex near the Groom Dry Lake for many years now. There are a variety of activities, some of which are classified, throughout the complex.
    • The range is used for the testing of technologies and systems training for operations critical to the effectiveness of U.S. military forces and the security of the United States.
    • Some specific activities and operations conducted on the Nellis Range, both past and present, remain CLASSIFIED and cannot be discussed.

The A12 - Spy Plane could travel at 2200 MPH

    • Suspended upside down, a titanium A-12 spy-plane prototype is prepped for radar testing at Area 51 in the late 1950s.
    • But pushing the limits came with risks—and led to the catastrophic 1963 crash of an A-12 based out of Area 51.
    • After a rash of declassification's and the acknowledgement of the existence of Area 51, details of Cold War workings at the Nevada base, are coming to light—including images of an A-12 crash and its cover-up pictured publicly for the first time in May.
    • Remnants of a crashed A-12 spy plane—including two engines and the shattered rear fuselage—litter the ground near Wendover, Utah, in a 1963 picture recently declassified by the CIA and published here for the first time.
    • After pilot Ken Collins had parachuted to the ground, he was stunned to be greeted by three civilians in a pickup, who offered to give him a ride to the wreckage of his plane. Instead, Collins got them to give him a ride in the opposite direction, by telling them the plane had a nuclear weapon on board—a prearranged cover story to keep the Area 51 craft a secret.
    • Nearly undetectable to radar, the A-12 could fly at 2,200 miles (3,540 kilometers) an hour—fast enough to cross the continental U.S. in 70 minutes. From 90,000 feet (27,400 meters), the plane's cameras could capture foot-long (0.3-meter-long) objects on the ground below

You won't find it on any geological or aeronautical maps and yet like a place in the Twilight Zone, flights to it leave Las Vegas' McCarran Airport every day. Some say alien aircraft are stored there and reverse-engineered to create new aircraft and weapons, or it's the site of genetic testing or other diabolical plots. Others say it's just a very secret aircraft development site. No matter, what it is, Area 51 remains shrouded in mystery.
A Fascinating timeline of Events at Area 51 from it's inception to the present.

The closest you will get to Area 51 without getting arrested.

The Debate Over Time’s Place in the Universe

The Debate Over Time's Place in the Universe

Einstein once described his friend Michele Besso as “the best sounding board in Europe” for scientific ideas. They attended university together in Zurich; later they were colleagues at the patent office in Bern. When Besso died in the spring of 1955, Einstein—knowing that his own time was also running out—wrote a now-famous letter to Besso’s family. “Now he has departed this strange world a little ahead of me,” Einstein wrote of his friend’s passing. “That signifies nothing. For us believing physicists, the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.”

Einstein’s statement was not merely an attempt at consolation. Many physicists argue that Einstein’s position is implied by the two pillars of modern physics: Einstein’s masterpiece, the general theory of relativity, and the Standard Model of particle physics. The laws that underlie these theories are time-symmetric—that is, the physics they describe is the same, regardless of whether the variable called “time” increases or decreases. Moreover, they say nothing at all about the point we call “now”—a special moment (or so it appears) for us, but seemingly undefined when we talk about the universe at large. The resulting timeless cosmos is sometimes called a “block universe”—a static block of space-time in which any flow of time, or passage through it, must presumably be a mental construct or other illusion.

The Debate Over Time's Place in the Universe
George Ellis, a cosmologist at the University of Cape Town, listens to a presentation at the Time in Cosmology conference
Many physicists have made peace with the idea of a block universe, arguing that the task of the physicist is to describe how the universe appears from the point of view of individual observers. To understand the distinction between past, present and future, you have to “plunge into this block universe and ask: ‘How is an observer perceiving time?’” said Andreas Albrecht, a physicist at the University of California, Davis, and one of the founders of the theory of cosmic inflation.Others vehemently disagree, arguing that the task of physics is to explain not just how time appears to pass, but why. For them, the universe is not static. The passage of time is physical. “I’m sick and tired of this block universe,” said Avshalom Elitzur, a physicist and philosopher formerly of Bar-Ilan University. “I don’t think that next Thursday has the same footing as this Thursday.
The future does not exist. It does not! Ontologically, it’s not there.”Last month, about 60 physicists, along with a handful of philosophers and researchers from other branches of science, gathered at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Canada, to debate this question at the Time in Cosmology conference. The conference was co-organized by the physicist Lee Smolin, an outspoken critic of the block-universe idea (among other topics). His position is spelled out for a lay audience in Time Reborn and in a more technical work, The Singular Universe and the Reality of Time, co-authored with the philosopher Roberto Mangabeira Unger, who was also a co-organizer of the conference. In the latter work, mirroring Elitzur’s sentiments about the future’s lack of concreteness, Smolin wrote: “The future is not now real and there can be no definite facts of the matter about the future.” What is real is “the process by which future events are generated out of present events,” he said at the conference.
Andreas Albrecht, a physicist at the University of California, Davis, presents his work on the nature of time.

Those in attendance wrestled with several questions: the distinction between past, present, and future; why time appears to move in only one direction; and whether time is fundamental or emergent. Most of those issues, not surprisingly, remained unresolved. But for four days, participants listened attentively to the latest proposals for tackling these questions—and, especially, to the ways in which we might reconcile our perception of time’s passage with a static, seemingly timeless universe.

    * * *

There are a few things that everyone agrees on. The directionality that we observe in the macroscopic world is very real: Teacups shatter but do not spontaneously reassemble; eggs can be scrambled but not unscrambled. Entropy—a measure of the disorder in a system—always increases, a fact encoded in the second law of thermodynamics. As the Austrian physicist Ludwig Boltzmann understood in the 19th century, the second law explains why events are more likely to evolve in one direction rather than another. It accounts for the arrow of time.

But things get trickier when we step back and ask why we happen to live in a universe where such a law holds. “What Boltzmann truly explained is why the entropy of the universe will be larger tomorrow than it is today,” said Sean Carroll, a physicist at the California Institute of Technology, as we sat in a hotel bar after the second day of presentations. “But if that was all you knew, you’d also say that the entropy of the universe was probably larger yesterday than today— because all the underlying dynamics are completely symmetric with respect to time.” That is, if entropy is ultimately based on the underlying laws of the universe, and those laws are the same going forward and backward, then entropy is just as likely to increase going backward in time. But no one believes that entropy actually works that way. Scrambled eggs always come after whole eggs, never the other way around.

To make sense of this, physicists have proposed that the universe began in a very special, low-entropy state. In this view, which the Columbia University philosopher of physics David Albert named the “past hypothesis,” entropy increases because the Big Bang happened to produce an exceptionally low-entropy universe. There was nowhere to go but up. The past hypothesis implies that every time we cook an egg, we’re taking advantage of events that happened nearly 14 billion years ago. “What you need the Big Bang to explain is: ‘Why were there ever unbroken eggs?’” Carroll said.

Some physicists are more troubled than others by the past hypothesis. Taking things we don’t understand about the physics of today’s universe and saying the answer can be found in the Big Bang could be seen, perhaps, as passing the buck —or as sweeping our problems under the carpet. Every time we invoke initial conditions, “the pile of things under the rug gets bigger,” said Marina Cortes, a cosmologist at the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh and a co-organizer of the conference.

To Smolin, the past hypothesis feels more like an admission of failure than a useful step forward. As he puts it in The Singular Universe: “The fact to be explained is why the universe, even 13.8 billion years after the Big Bang, has not reached equilibrium, which is by definition the most probable state, and it hardly suffices to explain this by asserting that the universe started in an even less probable state than the present one.”

Other physicists, however, point out that it’s normal to develop theories that can describe a system given certain initial conditions. A theory needn’t strive to explain those conditions.

Another set of physicists think that the past hypothesis, while better than nothing, is more likely to be a placeholder than a final answer. Perhaps, if we’re lucky, it will point the way to something deeper. “Many people say that the past hypothesis is just a fact, and there isn’t any underlying way to explain it. I don’t rule out that possibility,” Carroll said. “To me, the past hypothesis is a clue to help us develop a more comprehensive view of the universe.”

    ------

Can the arrow of time be understood without invoking the past hypothesis? Some physicists argue that gravity—not thermodynamics—aims time’s arrow. In this view, gravity causes matter to clump together, defining an arrow of time that aligns itself with growth of complexity, said Tim Koslowski, a physicist at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (he described the idea in a 2014 paper co-authored by the British physicist Julian Barbour and Flavio Mercati, a physicist at Perimeter). Koslowski and his colleagues developed simple models of universes made up of 1,000 point-like particles, subject only to Newton’s law of gravitation, and found that there will always be a moment of maximum density and minimum complexity. As one moves away from that point, in either direction, complexity increases. Naturally, we—complex creatures capable of making observations—can only evolve at some distance from the minimum. Still, wherever we happen to find ourselves in the history of the universe, we can point to an era of less complexity and call it the past, Koslowski said. The models are globally time-symmetric, but every observer will experience a local arrow of time. It’s significant that the low-entropy starting point isn’t an add-on to the model. Rather, it emerges naturally from it. “Gravity essentially eliminates the need for a past hypothesis,” Koslowski said.

The idea that time moves in more than one direction, and that we just happen to inhabit a section of the cosmos with a single, locally defined arrow of time, isn’t new. Back in 2004, Carroll, along with his graduate student Jennifer Chen, put forward a similar proposal based on eternal inflation, a relatively well known model of the beginning of the universe. Carroll sees the work of Koslowski and his colleagues as a useful step, especially since they worked out the mathematical details of their model (he and Chen did not). Still, he has some concerns. For example, he said it’s not clear that gravity plays as important a role as their paper claims. “If you just had particles in empty space, you’d get exactly the same qualitative behavior,” he said.

Increasing complexity, Koslowski said, has one crucial side effect: It leads to the formation of certain arrangements of matter that maintain their structure over time. These structures can store information; Koslowski calls them “records.” Gravity is the first and primary force that makes record formation possible; other processes then give rise to everything from fossils and tree rings to written documents. What all of these entities have in common is that they contain information about some earlier state of the universe. I asked Koslowski if memories stored in brains are another kind of record. Yes, he said. “Ideally we would be able to build ever more complex models, and come eventually to the memory in my phone, the memory in my brain, in history books.” A more complex universe contains more records than a less complex universe, and this, Koslowski said, is why we remember the past but not the future.

But perhaps time is even more fundamental than this. For George Ellis, a cosmologist at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, time is a more basic entity, one that can be understood by picturing the block universe as itself evolving. In his “evolving block universe”model, the universe is a growing volume of space-time. The surface of this volume can be thought of as the present moment. The surface represents the instant where “the indefiniteness of the future changes to the definiteness of the past,” as he described it. “Space-time itself is growing as time passes.” One can discern the direction of time by looking at which part of the universe is fixed (the past) and which is changing (the future). Although some colleagues disagree, Ellis stresses that the model is a modification, not a radical overhaul, of the standard view. “This is a block universe with dynamics covered by the general-relativity field equations—absolutely standard—but with a future boundary that is the ever-changing present,” he said. In this view, while the past is fixed and unchangeable, the future is open. The model “obviously represents the passing of time in a more satisfactory way than the usual block universe,” he said.

The physicist Tim Koslowski listens to the discussion at the Time in Cosmology conference.
    (Philip Cheung for Quanta Magazine)

Unlike the traditional block view, Ellis’s picture appears to describe a universe with an open future—seemingly in conflict with a law-governed universe in which past physical states dictate future states. (Although quantum uncertainty, as Ellis pointed out, may be enough to sink such a deterministic view.) At the conference, someone asked Ellis if, given enough information about the physics of a sphere of a certain radius centered on the British Midlands in early June, one could have predicted the result of the Brexit vote. “Not using physics,” Ellis replied. For that, he said, we’d need a better understanding of how minds work.

Another approach that aims to reconcile the apparent passage of time with the block universe goes by the name of causal set theory. First developed in the 1980s as an approach to quantum gravity by the physicist Rafael Sorkin—who was also at the conference—the theory is based on the idea that space-time is discrete rather than continuous. In this view, although the universe appears continuous at the macroscopic level, if we could peer down to the so-called Planck scale (distances of about 10-35meters) we’d discover that the universe is made up of elementary units or “atoms” of space-time. The atoms form what mathematicians call a “partially ordered set”—an array in which each element is linked to an adjacent element in a particular sequence. The number of these atoms (estimated to be a whopping 10240 in the visible universe) gives rise to the volume of space-time, while their sequence gives rise to time. According to the theory, new space-time atoms are continuously coming into existence. Fay Dowker, a physicist at Imperial College London, referred to this at the conference as “accretive time.” She invited everyone to think of space-time as accreting new space-time atoms in way roughly analogous to a seabed depositing new layers of sediment over time. General relativity yields only a block, but causal sets seem to allow a “becoming,” she said. “The block universe is a static thing—a static picture of the world—whereas this process of becoming is dynamical.” In this view, the passage of time is a fundamental rather than an emergent feature of the cosmos. (Causal set theory has made at least one successful prediction about the universe, Dowker pointed out, having been used to estimate the value of the cosmological constant based only on the space-time volume of the universe.)

    ********

The challenge, she said, is to frame this first-person experience within the static block offered by physics.

In the face of these competing models, many thinkers seem to have stopped worrying and learned to love (or at least tolerate) the block universe.

Perhaps the strongest statement made at the conference in favor of the block universe’s compatibility with everyday experience came from the philosopher Jenann Ismael of the University of Arizona. The way Ismael sees it, the block universe, properly understood, holds within it the explanation for our experience of time’s apparent passage. A careful look at conventional physics, supplemented by what we’ve learned in recent decades from cognitive science and psychology, can recover “the flow, the whoosh, of experience,” she said. In this view, time is not an illusion—in fact, we experience it directly. She cited studies that show that each moment we experience represents a finite interval of time. In other words, we don’t infer the flow of time; it’s part of the experience itself. The challenge, she said, is to frame this first-person experience within the static block offered by physics—to examine “how the world looks from the evolving frame of reference of an embedded perceiver” whose history is represented by a curve within the space-time of the block universe.

Ismael’s presentation drew a mixed response. Carroll said he agreed with everything she had said; Elitzur said he “wanted to scream” during her talk. (He later clarified: “If I bang my head against the wall, it’s because I hate the future.”) An objection voiced many times during the conference was that the block universe seems to imply, in some important way, that the future already exists, yet statements about, say, next Thursday’s weather are neither true nor false. For some, this seems like an insurmountable problem with the block-universe view. Ismael had heard these objections many times before. Future events exist, she said, they just don’t exist now. “The block universe is not a changing picture,” she said.“It’s a picture of change.” Things happen when they happen. “This is a moment—and I know everybody here is going to hate this—but physics could do with some philosophy,” she said. “There’s a long history of discussion about the truth-values of future contingent statements—and it really has nothing to do with the experience of time.” And for those who wanted to read more? “I recommend Aristotle,” she said.

7 Irregularities that suggest Earth’s Moon was engineered

Even though the Apollo missions brought back to Earth huge amounts of data about the moon, it has remained an enigma for astronomers and scientists alike. Dr. Robert Jastrow, the first president of NASA’s Commission of Lunar Exploration called the moon “the Rosetta Stone of the planets.”

But what is it about the moon that fascinates everyone? Well, there are many people who firmly believe that Earth’s moon is actually a terraformed and engineer piece of hardware that has a 3-mile thick outer layer of dust and rocks. Beneath this layer, it is believed that the moon has a solid shell of around 20 miles made of highly resistant materials such as titanium, uranium 236, mica, neptunium 237. Definitely, elements that you would not expect to find “inside” the moon.

There are many UFOlogists around the world who speculate that the moon is actually a giant base where extraterrestrials survey mankind’s progress.

There are so many mysteries surrounding Earth’s moon that there are those who have proposed that the moon could be something entirely different.

Robin Brett, a scientist from NASA stated, “It seems easier to explain the non-existence of the Moon than its existence.”

    moonufo

Here are 7 Irregularities that suggest Earth’s Moon was engineered and might be a giant hollow base:

    1) The Moon seems engineered. On November of 1969, NASA intentionally crashed a lunar module that caused an impact equivalent to one ton of TNT on the Moon. The shock waves built up and NASA scientists listened to what was happening on the Moon. Strangely, after impact, NASA scientists said that the Moon rang like a bell and the reverberation continued for thirty minutes. According to Ken Johnson, supervisor of the data and photo control department, the Moon not only rang like a bell but the whole Moon “wobbled” in such a precise way that it was “almost as though it had gigantic hydraulic damper struts inside it.

    2) The Moon has elements it should not have. In the 1970’s Mikhail Vasin and Alexander Shcerbakov from the Soviet Academy of science wrote an article called: “Is the Moon the creation of Alien Intelligence?” It was a very interesting article that asked some important questions. How is it possible that the surface of the moon is so hard and why does it contain minerals like Titanium? Mysteriously, there are some lunar rocks that have been found to contain PROCESSED METALS, such as Brass, Mica and the elements of Uranium 236 and Neptunium 237 that have NEVER been found to occur naturally. Yet there are traces of them on the Moon. Uranium 236 is a radioactive nuclear waste which is found in spent nuclear and reprocessed Uranium. More interestingly, Neptunium 237 is a radioactive metallic element and a by-product of nuclear reactors and the production of Plutonium. You have to ask the question: What is happening on Earth’s Moon? From where are these elements and minerals coming from?

    3) Earth’s Moon does not have a solid core like every other planetary object. Researchers are nearly 100 percent sure that the Moon is, in fact, hollow or has a very low-intensity interior. Strangely, the Moon’s concentration of mass is located at a series of points just below the surface.

    4) The Moon is older than Earth. Our Moon is unlike any other satellite discovered in the known universe. Researchers know the Moon is 4.6 billion years old and that raises a lot of questions. This means that the moon is older than the Earth by nearly 800,000 years according to scientists.

    5) Incredible orbit. Earth’s moon is the only moon in the solar system that has a stationary, nearly “perfect” circular orbit. It’s a fact that the Moon does not spin like a natural celestial body. In other words, our Moon does not share any characteristics with other moons found in our Solar System. If it wasn’t strange enough, from any point on the surface of our planet, only one side of the Moon is visible. What is the moon hiding?

    Earth-Moon-Incline

    6) Lunar rocks and titanium. There are some lunar rocks that have been found to contain ten times more titanium than “titanium rich” rocks on planet Earth. Here on Earth, we use Titanium in supersonic jets, deep diving submarines and spacecraft. It’s unexplainable. Dr Harold Urey, Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry said he was “terribly puzzled by the rocks astronauts found on the moon and their Titanium content. The samples were unimaginable and mind-blowing since researchers could not account for the presence of Titanium.

    7) Precise position. If all of the above points did not get you to think differently about the Earth’s moon here are some more interesting things about the Moon. What is keeping the moon in its nearly perfect position? the moon has a precise altitude, course and speed, allowing it to “function” properly in regards of planet Earth.

Simply put the Moon should not be where it is currently. Everything points to the possibility that Earth’s moon was in fact placed into its current position in the distant past. The Moon’s unnatural orbit and irregular composition raise hundreds of questions that neither NASA scientists, astronomers or geologists are able to answer today. Despite all efforts to understand Earth’s “natural” satellite, the truth is that we have very little information about the Moon’s origin and purpose. What do you think the moon is? A nearly perfect natural occurrence? Or do the Moon’s origins surpass human understanding?

Into The Spiritual Depths of Albert Einstein

    Religion

The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend a personal God and avoid dogmas and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description.” ― Albert Einstein

In my ‘passionate curiosity’ in the teachings of spirituality, I find that it spirituality does not rely on religion however, there a lot of spiritual teachings to stem from religious beliefs. Imagine for one instant with an open mind a religion and its number one mission is to set you completely free that is spirituality. In my learnings I have found that Buddhism and Zen Buddhism are the closest religions that come to complete freedom.

This has only been in my experience up to this point, and I do not consider myself to want to be a Buddhist or coming remotely close in the future to be a Buddhist but do believe we all are Buddhas.

Siddhartha Gautama (The Buddha) became enlightened when he sat under a tree for 7 days and meditated. Enlightenment was directly correlated with nirvana, the ultimate state of peace. Ultimate peace my friends is the ultimate freedom in this life.

The essence of how Siddhartha became enlightened, through meditation is the very basic foundation of most spiritual teachings in today’s day and age.

    Mind

Some of the greatest spiritual masters of all time have spoken on the mind, and it a common denominator of just about every spiritual master who has ever lived from Hinduism to Zen, to the Advaita Vedanta speak of one truth and that all absolute reality, absolute truth is found when the thinking-mind has vanished.

To use the mind for practical reasons to make our way through this physical earth, but to allow the inner silence (inner you) to show you the way.

Many of Einstein’s words pointed to this truth.

I think 99 times and find nothing. I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me.” ― Albert Einstein

Again consider Buddha becoming enlightened from meditation. The very basic reality of meditation is to get rid of the mind. The mind can never be silent. The purpose of the mind is to think; so how could the mind be completely quiet?

In deep meditation there is no mind, and when there is no mind there is pure silence. It is in this pure silence where enlightenment is found, the absolute truth of reality. The absolute truth is inner reality and it is found in silence.

I want to know God’s thoughts – the rest are mere details.” ― Albert Einstein

The way to know God’s thoughts are through the silence, through no-mind a very deep spiritual truth.

We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality. — Albert Einstein

Intellect can be correlated very closely with the ability and capacity to ‘think’. Einstein is saying that thinking has got the world very far, is a great tool that we have used however it is still none the less extremely limited. Even if the mind can’t comprehend God, so why should it be limited?

My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.” ― Albert Einstein

Another pointer talking about the limitations of the mind and regardless of the religion you believe in, let the foundation of your limitLESS spirit lead you on the pathless path of the journey towards inner absolute truth.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” — Albert Einstein

The intuitive mind in absolute reality is no mind at all. Intuition is the answers that you get without comprehension from the silence. Society as a whole although in the very beginning awakening stages has built itself with belief that the mind is everything and is completely blind to the reality that intuition the silence is the greatest gift that we have been given in this lifetime.

    Time

“Time is an illusion.” ― Albert Einstein

In the mind time does exist as in past, present and future. It is only in the mind however that time is linear. When you consider that in the thoughts of the mind as real as they may seem are merely an illusion. If thoughts are an illusion, then that means time itself can be nothing but an illusion.

In the universe, in absolute reality there is nothing other than presence. You can think about the word presence, but you cannot be fully present with every cell in your body through thought. Absolute presence can only happen when thought does not exist.

The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.” ― Albert Einstein

When you consider the future in conceptual terms, you can look at it as a mysterious eternity. Nobody has actually ever experienced the future; you can only ever experience the present moment. And because the present moment which where all existence lies, it is the only place where ALL salvation, all enlightenment is found. It is only because of the mysterious that the present moment holds the power of existence itself hence the reason the mysterious is beautiful in the eyes of Einstein.

“Life is a preparation for the future; and the best preparation for the future is to live as if there were none.” ― Albert Einstein

When you make the present moment the only interest in your life, then life will continue to flow in the conceptualized future like a river of water in which every particle has peace within it’s being.

    System

When you consider someone who’s mission in life it was to go as far away from the system as possible you can look to none other than Albert Einstein himself.

The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.” ― Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was not a fan of the education systems that were in place and was expelled from High School at the age of 16. In spirituality learning has far less to do with learning about the system that is in place specifically educations systems and much more to do with learning about who and what you are.

Education is very limited to dogmatic systems, things that don’t have anything do with how successful we will be, or how happy and peaceful in our lives are right now.

The truth of learning is in the deep inner reality of your soul and Einstein realized such.

Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth.” ― Albert Einstein

Authority can smash its beliefs into you, and make you fearful that “If you do not listen to what I say, you will regret it.” The key term ‘blind’ closely relates to the absolute lack of awareness and unless someone is there to guide us to a new path of awareness, the truth will continue to be hidden.

In spirituality, the greatest truth is the awakening of your deep inner reality.

Rational Ufology – – psychosocial hypothesis over extraterrestrial hypothesis

excellent article written by my colleague, the late Tomas Scolarici:

    (QUOTE)

“The psychosocial hypothesis builds on the finding that most ufo reports have mundane explanations like celestial objects, airplane lights, balloons, and a host of other misperceived things seen in the sky which suggests the presence of an unusual emotional climate which distorts perceptions and the perceived significance and anomalousness of merely terrestrial stimuli.

In the more exotic situation where people claim direct contact with extraterrestrials, please CLICK AND READ THE FOLLOWING:
    PSYCHOSOCIAL HYPOTHESIS

THE PSYCHOSOCIAL HYPOTHESIS “is particularly popular among UFO researchers in the United Kingdom, such as David Clarke, Hilary Evans, the editors of Magoniamagazine, and many of the contributors to Fortean Times magazine. It is also popular in France since the publication in 1977 of a book written by Michel Monnerie “Et si les ovnis n’existaient pas?”(What if ufos do not exist?).

    archive bols

    Now, what about UFOs?

First of all, 95 % of UFO sightings are recognized as natural or manmade phenomena.
The 5 % are important only because of the UFO industry, ego-trips and fantasists.
To speak about flying objects is conjectural. In my view, UFOs are not flying and are not objects.
The UFO meme is strong enough for some people.
meme is “an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to person within a culture.”
A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to another through writing, videos, sounds, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable phenomena. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate and respond to selective pressures.
I have no idea about whom or what is behind the phenomenon, but I am totally and absolutely convinced that the Extraterrestrial hypothesis is forged.

Until this very moment, there is no evidence of extraterrestrial intelligent life here or in any other place of the Universe.
There is a relatively big but totally contradictory mythology concerning Extraterrestrials, without any kind of evidential or rational value.
The presumed “extraterrestrial” messages are a sad mix of New Age, Pseudo-religion, self-help and very human ideas and prejudices.
Abductions are mostly planted pseudo-memories and fantasies or self delusions.

    the-show-must-go-on-copia

After more than forty years of research in the field, writing and talking with many people of different ages, social positions and professions, this is a short synthesis of what I think about the UFO phenomenon.

For the Rational Ufologist, the UFO Phenomenon is an unsolved mystery, and because of this, Rational Ufology investigates the social, psychological and political impact of this phenomenon.
Paradoxically, that 5 % of Unidentified Flying Objects that remain unidentified has asecondary importance.

The priority is given to the hypothesis about the origin and behavior of the UFO phenomenon, and also to the rational and logical interpretation of the mythology and pseudo-sciences created by the different interpretations of the enigma.

Contactees, self-proclaimed experts, mystics and improvised prophets give different ideas and versions of the phenomenon, but Rational Ufology demands evidences.

The interpretation of the UFO Phenomenon by the irrational ufologists is confused, contradictory and fallacious. There is talk, but no facts, and in many cases, we find a dishonest manipulation of hypothesis and pseudo events given as facts.

The Rational Ufologist is eclectic, but is also pragmatic and realist. He recognizes that the culture industry perpetually cheats its consumers with promises. The promissory note with its plots and staging, is endlessly prolonged; the promise is illusory: all that actually confirms is that the real point will never be reached, that the diner must be satisfied with the menu.”

In the rhetoric of the Cosmic Gurus we see this phenomenon in action. Nonsense replaces the real world and balloons are transformed into big ET spacecrafts. Contactees give us New Age talk as Extraterrestrial messages, ex rock musicians become Aliens and lawyers time travelers.

However all this must be considered and analyzed in Ufology. We must recognize the distorted impact of the UFO phenomenon in our society.
WE should understand the UFO subculture as spectacle, as the promise of a bad defined solution. The whole manipulation of the disclosure activism is not directed towards a solution of the UFO enigma.

The important thing for these activists is to sell their statements and conspiratorial delusions.

    ufo-industry

(CLICK THE ABOVE FOR ENLARGEMENT….UFO INDUSTRY poster, courtesy of Claude Falkstrom)

The society of the spectacle is also the world of the simulacrum. The picture is more important than the real thing, and even worst, contactees, and self proclaimed UFO experts try to make us believe that their rhetoric is the real thing.
That is why they deny Science but instead give us fairy tales as facts and fictions as real events.

The FBI admits visits of “beings from other dimensions” – Declassified FBI document

According to a declassified document released by the FBI, not only are we being visited by Alien beings from other worlds, but we have been visited by “beings from other dimensions.”

Is it surprising that the FBI has shown interest in the study of the UFO phenomena? Is it possible that many science fiction films are actually based on real events, or better called “leaks” given by the government in order to deliberately raise awareness among the population?

In 2011 after some documents were “declassified” a report written by a special agent of the FBI in 1947 reached the public. The special agent of the FBI, a lieutenant colonel whose identity, remained anonymous because of “national security” gather numerous data on the UFO phenomena after interviewing and studying the phenomena for years.

According to reports and “Declassified” documents, we have been visited by numbs extraterrestrial species, some of these, are not only from other planets but from other dimensions. Some of these beings originate from an ethereal plane coexistent with our physical universe. These “entities” that could “materialize” on our planet appeared as giant translucent figures.

Here is a transcript of some of the most important details of the report:

    1. Part of the disks carry crews; others are under remote control

    2. Their mission is peaceful. The visitors contemplate settling on this plane

    3. These visitors are human-like but much larger in size

    4. They are not excarnate Earth people but come from their own world

    5. They do NOT come from a planet as we use the word, but from an etheric planet which interpenetrates with our own and is not perceptible to us

    6. The bodies of the visitors, and the craft, automatically materialize on entering the vibratory rate of our dense matter

    7. The disks posses a type of radiant energy or a ray, which will easily disintegrate any attacking ship. They reenter the etheric at will, and so simply disappear from our vision, without trace

    8. The region from which they come is not the “astral plane”, but corresponds to the Lokas or Talas. Students of osoteric matters will understand these terms.

    9. They probably can not be reached by radio, but probably can be by radar. if a signal system can be devised for that (apparatus) Addendum: The Lokas are oval shape, fluted length oval with a heat-resistaning metal or alloy is not yet known the front cage contains the controls, the middle portion a laboratory; the rear contains armament, which consists essentially of a powerful energy apparatus, perhaps a ray.

What are your thoughts on this? If these beings have been visiting us in the last 50 to 60 years, is it possible that these same beings visited Earth hundreds and thousands of years ago? Is it possible that these beings influenced civilization as we know it today? And is it possible that they are still influencing the way of life on Earth?

Did astronaut reveal NASA's 'codeword for aliens' in live International Space Station feed?

Conspiracy theorists have suggested that a "nervous" astronaut was telling ground control about appearance of a strange red-coloured UFO

    https://youtu.be/A3cxiWHmOoU

This controversial footage is causing a stir among UFO fans and conspiracy theorists as records a bizarre conversation between a "nervous" astronaut and mission control.

The outer-space experts claim that during a live feed from the International Space Station the astronaut mentions the word "gospel" as a strange red-coloured UFO appears on the screen.

The footage has been uploaded to two well known UFO websites - by blogger Scott C Waring's UFO Sightings Daily and to Secure Team 10 - and have caused a huge stir among their audiences.

According to Mr Waring, the appearance of the UFO on the ISS live video feed as the astronaut mentions the gospel" was significant and could not be a coincidence."

Talking his viewers through the footage he drew the attention of viewers to the moment in the recording that the astronaut said the word “gospel,” and the moment that ground control replied to the astronaut, saying, “we will pray for you."

Secure Team 10's Tyler Glockne r also noted how odd it was for the astronaut to be talking about religion ans said the conversation was "very unusual".

He said: "You can hear the astronaut speaking about God as a UFO appears, which is strange.

“Although it is not strange to think there may be astronauts who may be religious, but I think it would be uncommon due to the training and scientific knowledge they have.”

But his fans asked whether the reference to "gospel" was actually code for "aliens".

Conspiracy theorists have suggested that the astronaut’s statement that he was looking “forward to this partnership with the gospel,” could be coded language and he was actually telling ground control he was about to meet a delegation of extraterrestrials and hold "talks" with them.

Why UFO sightings spike like crazy in the summer

Why UFO sightings spike like crazy in the summer

Summertime is about relaxation, barbecues, and warm weather.

    And, apparently, UFOs.

In a series of memos dated all the way to the late 1940s, top CIA officials detail their mounting concern over extraterrestrial life descending upon us. One strange trend quickly emerged to those officials, and one that has remained constant in the 67 years since. Today, as they did in 1949, UFO sightings spike in the summer.

There are several theories about why this happens.

    CIA ufo memo

A CIA memo from 1949 captures the agency’s growing concern over UFO activity. CIA

Cassidy Nicholas is the chief archivist for the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, an organization started in 1969 that looks into reported UFO sightings. She is perhaps the foremost expert on UFO sightings data, having handled thousands of investigations within the last several years.

Nicholas passed the MUFON data along to Tech Insider, which include sightings since 1960.UFO spottings

The trend is hard to notice at first, mostly because there only a few dozen reports each month for most of the 20th century. But between May and August the numbers do tend to climb.

It’s a trend that has gotten even easier to spot within the last decade, as more people have heard of MUFON and reported their UFO sightings.

    UFO spottings

Nicholas’ go-to explanation for this summer spike is pretty straightforward.

“[People] are noticing the weather, hiking, camping, doing outside activities,” she tells Tech Insider. “And there seems to be an increase in live events” like concerts, fireworks, and other community gatherings.

In other words, people are simply outside more in the summer, rather than hunched over their phones.

Other possible reasons include blockbuster movies and UFO-related TV shows released during the summer months. This could prime people to label a radio tower or a remote-controlled drone a UFO.

“It’s likely that the media and [alien-themed] movies that are coming out, like Apollo 18 andPaul, are piquing people’s interest in UFOs,” Clifford Clift, the international director of MUFON, told “Life’s Little Mysteries” in 2011.

Given how long the trend has persisted, however, it’s more likely that being outside is the primary reason for reporting.

A third explanation, of course, is that there are indeed more flying saucers in the sky between June and September, although MUFON has yet to confirm that is the case.

9 of the most surreal UFO documents from the CIA archive

Summer is officially here, which means UFO sightings are bound to spike until late September, as they have for roughly the last 65 years.

In honor of the summer ritual, Tech Insider dug through the mountain of CIA documents related to UFO sightings, which the agency declassified nearly 40 years ago. Many of the sighting reports date back to the early 1950s, at a time when political tensions were high and flying objects were seen as national security threats.

Here are some of the most interesting.

    1. A memo on national security and the ‘vulnerability to air attack’ from flying saucers

A memo on national security and the 'vulnerability to air attack' from flying saucers

    CIA

On October 2, 1952, the Assistant Director in the Office of Scientific Intelligence sent a memo to the Director of the entire CIA with the subject “Flying Saucers.”

As the AD wrote, “‘Flying saucers’ pose two elements of danger which have national security implications. The first involves mass psychological considerations and the second concerns the vulnerability of the United States to air attack.”

The AD recommended more research be conducted to explore the “implications of the ‘flying saucer’ problem.”

(If you listen closely enough, you can almost hear them typing the word “drones” decades ahead of time.)

    2. Uzbekistan’s mysterious light show

    Uzbekistan's mysterious light show

    CIA

The late 1940s in the Uzbekistan capital city of Tashkent saw more unidentified light shows than it could count.

“From May to September 1947,” a CIA information report reads, “three light phenomena happening at intervals of about 15 minutes were seen almost every night between 9 and 10 p.m. local time.” At its highest point, the light seemed to be roughly a fifth the diameter of a full moon.

As the report details, the light always began as a bright red ball. Within seconds it would grow a fiery tail and then morph into a green, then white, mass.

“Smoke trails, noises, or detonations were not noticed.”

    3. Fiery disks looming over Belgian uranium mines

Fiery disks looming over Belgian uranium mines

    CIA

A daily newspaper in Vienna, of all publications, reported on a peculiar sighting of “two fiery disks” hovering over uranium mines in mid-August, 1952.

As the report explains, the two objects supposedly tore through the airspace in a highly erratic fashion. At one point they would be soaring vertically away from the onlookers, and the next they’d be diving down “to within 20 meters of the tree tops.”

Commander Pierre of the local airfield took off in his own fighter plane to wrangle the unknown aircraft. However, “Pierre had to give up pursuit after 15 minutes since both disks, with a loud whistling sound which he heard despite the noise of his own plane, disappeared in a straight line toward Lake Tanganyika.”

Pierre later estimated the disks were traveling more than 900 miles per hour.

    4. The CIA begins to have its doubts about UFOs

The CIA begins to have its doubts about UFOs

    CIA

With all these reports coming in, it didn’t take long for the CIA to get suspicious. In August 1952 (keep in mind, still two months ahead of its memo on those two national security concerns), the Deputy Assistant Director of the Scientific Intelligence officereleased a memodiscounting the threat posed by UFOs.

“Of 1000 to 2000 such reports received by ATIC (Air Technical Intelligence Center), a large percentage are clearly ‘phoney,'” the report reads. In fact, many of the reported flights were easily explained as known missions using US equipment, the report went on.

Owing to the agency’s uncertainty, however, the Deputy AD recommended CIA surveillance continue on the mysterious “flying saucers” under the cover of darkness.

“It is strongly urged … that no indication of CIA interest or concern reach the press or public,” the report read, “in view of their probable alarmist tendencies to accept such interest as ‘confirmatory’ of the soundness of ‘unpublished facts’ in the hands of the U.S. government.”

In early September 1952, multiple sightings were reported of various UFOs over Casablanca, Morocco. Residents of the town, which was made famous by the 1942 film, saw two flying saucers that were “elongated in shape” and “followed by a trail of white light.”

On a separate occasion in July, two other people reported seeing a “blue-green, ball-shaped object” just before midnight “moving at a high rate of speed.” The mysterious object disappeared after only three or four seconds, however, “as though it had literally melted into the sky.”

The very next morning, another couple observed a mysterious object around 9 a.m. for roughly 30 seconds. Several more accounts, all with differing details, emerged that summer.

    6. The East German flying saucers of 1952

The CIA published this internal document reporting on one German man’s fantastic account of a 45-foot-wide disk he spotted in a forest when his motorcycle broke down.

Accompanied by his 11-year-old daughter, the man approached the strange-looking object to find two men in “shiny metallic clothing” kneeling over the disk, which had a cone-shaped capsule on top.

Once the two men realized they were being watched, the man says, they hopped into the capsule and the disk began to leave the ground. Eventually, it rose high above the trees and took off.

“I had never heard of the term ‘flying saucer’ before I escaped from the Soviet Union into West Berlin,” the man later said. “When I saw this object, I immediately thought it was a new Soviet military machine.”

On the night of September 2, 1953, residents of a small town southeast of Casablanca known as Oued Zem reported hearing a thunderous noise. The next morning, a pair of shepherds claimed to have seen a flying object that was “lighted in many colors and flying at great speed.

The sightings followed two other incidents in July and August, one over Greece and another over Spain. Witnesses in Madrid described the UFO as “flying like a jet plane” but emitting a red reflection and creating no noise.

In Drama, Greece, residents said they saw a rocket-shaped object at low altitude, which stayed stationary for three to four minutes before disappearing into the night.

In the span of a month between April 15 and May 13, 1954,five separate reports from France and Sweden each described UFOs of a different size and shape.

The first, on April 15, involved an elongated, cone-shaped object with two red and green lights at its base. It flew at a high altitude.

The next, on April 26, was a “cigar-shaped object” observed by a group of people walking through France’s Sare region, near the Pyrenees border. The object was traveling at a high altitude — roughly 6,500 feet, the observers claimed — and heading toward Spain.

The final event took place the morning of May 13, in Sweden. Three people separately reported seeing a “brilliant, silver-colored sphere with a tail.”

    CIA

In mid-November 1952, three men working in a forest in Kirkenes, Norway spotted a flat, round object just hovering roughly 1,500 feet in the air.

“The object appeared to have a diameter of 15-20 meters (50-65 feet),” the CIA report stated. “After the workers had observed the object for a while, it suddenly flew away at great speed in a northwesternly direction.”

They were the only people who reported seeing the object, unfortunately for them. “They swear, however, that their report is true.”

The Most Mysterious Star in the Galaxy

The Most Mysterious Star in the Galaxy

The object known unofficially as Tabby’s Star dims every so often in a chaotic pattern—and nobody knows why.

Late last year, the PlanetHunters group of citizen-scientists found a perfectly ordinary star behaving very weirdly—fading in brightness every so often, by very different amounts, in a chaotic pattern. In a skillful paper, Tabatha (“Tabby”) Boyajian at Yale pointed out the horrible dilemma posed by the star, which is tucked up under the western wing of Cygnus the Swan. So instead of calling it by its forgettable catalog name, KIC 8462852, everyone now refers to it as Tabby’s Star. (Tabby herself tried to give the star the nickname “WTF Star,” as an acronym for “Where’s The Flux?” The more common usage of “WTF” is also appropriate.) She’s even done a TED talk about it.

I first heard about Tabby’s Star when a smirking colleague came in to the lunchroom and passed around some of Tabby’s plots. All I could do was look perplexed and open-mouthed. Between the astro-professors in the room, we had incredibly wide and deep experience, and none of us had ever seen anything even vaguely like this.

Tabby’s basic plot is a light curve, a measure of brightness as a function of time. Her 4-year light curve came from NASA’s Kepler spacecraft, already legendary for the accuracy and reliability of its light curves. The Kepler plot was basically flat, meaning that the star had a constant brightness, aside from a miniscule periodic modulation as typical of rotating stars that have starspots.

The kicker was that Tabby’s Star shows occasional dips in the light curve, and these are unlike anything ever seen. That is, the star’s brightness faded by a bit for, typically, one day at a time. About ten times, the star faded by 0.2 percent to 8 percent. Twice the dips dimmed the star by 16 percent and 21 percent. The basic dips had a duration of 1-3 days or so, but there is structure in the light curve up to ~100 days long. The dips are not periodic.

Now, Tabby’s star is otherwise a common F3 main-sequence star. That is a bit hotter (6750°K) than our Sun (5800°K), and a bit larger (1.58 times larger than our Sun). The spectrum shows no emission lines, and only the ordinary expected absorption lines. Tabby’s Star has no nearby binary companion that we can detect. This is just a plain normal everyday star. Except for the dips…

Astronomers understand big flaming balls of gases very well, and there is very high confidence that lone F3 main-sequence stars cannot have variations of more than 0.01 percent on any time scale shorter than millions of years. (Well, except for superflares, which these are not.) Further, the light curve dips are not modulated by the known stellar rotation. So the dips aren’t from the underlying star.

This forces us into thinking that they could only be due to something passing across the line of sight, blocking the background starlight (the technical term is “occulting”). After all, the PlanetHunters were explicitly looking for exactly this case, where some orbiting planet occults the star as it passes in front (the term for that is “transits”). But planet transits are always very small in amplitude (less than about one percent or so) and periodic. Whatever it is that is randomly passing in front of Tabby’s Star is not a planet.

The deepest dip dims the star by 21 percent, so whatever was covering up the starlight must have been covering at least 21 percent of the star’s area. This implies that the body, or cloud, or structure must have just under half the radius of the star—which makes it 70 percent the size of our Sun. Whatever it is, it might be solid (like a planet), gaseous (like a star or a gas cloud), or something like a cloud of dust.

The trouble is that any such idea requires that all of these things should be emitting large amounts of infrared light. It should be bright enough to be readily seen above the normal expected infrared light from the primary star. In astro-jargon, Tabby’s Star does not have any excess of infrared light.

So what is blocking out the light from Tabby’s Star? Well, an astronomer’s kneejerk reaction is to try to concoct some model that might explain the observations. We’ve all been tossing out ideas. The trouble is that our ideas founder on the lack of infrared excess. We can imagine accretion disks with flaring edges, or complex multiple star systems with improbable orbits, or vast streams of super-giant comets, or dusty asteroid-asteroid collisions. But all of these require an infrared excess. This includes the suggestion that the dips in brightness might be caused by some partially-constructed artificial “Dyson Sphere” built by a very advanced civilization around the star. But any hypothetical large-scale structures around the star must also emit a lot of light in the infrared, since they must radiate away the huge influx of energy that they intercept from the primary star. The laws of thermodynamics apply to them too

So the remaining viable models are now down to … none. Astronomers have no reasonable idea as to how to explain the dips in Tabby’s Star. But we know the dips are real because of the extraordinary accuracy and reliability of the Kepler spacecraft. So we have a mystery. And I have thought long, and I cannot come up with any other star more mysterious than Tabby’s Star.

When confronted with such an anomaly in very-well-established theory (that F3 main-sequence stars should not have such dips), the possibility arises that we are seeing the first example of some entirely new and unexpected phenomenon. And this is always exciting to astronomers. Who knows what startling wonders are being pointed at by Tabby’s Star?

So how to proceed? Well, looking at the star when there isn’t a dip going on is unlikely to tell us anything more than the background information that we’ve already worked out. So the only way to advance is to catch Tabby’s Star in the middle of a dip.

What I’d most like to see is a good spectrum of Tabby’s Star at mid-dip. The starlight, spread out into fine gradations of color, should tell us about the nature of whatever is producing the occultations. If the occulter is some sort of a dusty cloud, then the dimming will be greatest for blue light and least for red light, with the relative dimming across the colors being in a known and characteristic pattern. If this dust cloud has gas mixed in, then we should also see characteristic absorption lines at known colors, giving us the composition of the gas, and revealing the origin and nature of the cloud. If the light-blocker is solid, then all of the colors will dim by exactly the same amount. And we might even see some emission lines if there is some sort of stellar activity on the primary star. So all it takes is one good spectrum during a dip, and we’ll know the nature of the occulter.

There is a real practical problem here, however as Tabby’s Star has been in dip for only a total of a few weeks out of the four years of observations by Kepler. The dips are chaotic in time, so we cannot predict when any upcoming dip will happen. So the only way to get a spectrum during a dip is to have nearly continuous monitoring of the star’s brightness— and, when it starts to go into a dip, send out a worldwide alert. With such an alert, some observatory somewhere will be able to get a good spectrum within a day or so.

So this problem reduces to monitoring Tabby’s Star continuously, at nearly the hour-by-hour level, until it goes into another dip. That program takes a huge amount of telescope time. This is now only realistic for robotic telescopes spread out around the northern hemisphere.

Fortunately, the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope(LCOGT) network is perfect for the case. LCOGT has wonderful robotic telescopes at four sites in the northern hemisphere (two sites near their headquarters in Santa Barbara California, one on Haleakala in Hawaii, one on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, and one at McDonald Observatory in Texas). With this kind of coverage, Tabby’s Star can be monitored near 24/7 for most of the year.

But it takes money to purchase time on LCOGT. Such a monitoring project does not fit in well with the usual program capabilities of the science support coming from NASA or the National Science Foundation. Government funding has been what has been driving the excellence in American science for many decades. But monitoring Tabby’s Star is a risky proposal, with no guaranteed return, because maybe there won’t be any dips for a long time to come.

So, being a modern person, Tabby has sought alternative, modern funding sources. This has led her to start a Kickstarter campaign. The idea is to crowd-fund the LCOGT monitoring program. She is seeking $100,000 before June 17. (I won’t benefit personally from any contributions, since they won’t fund any of my own research.)

If you want to help solve the mystery of Tabby’s Star. I urge you to consider helping with the Kickstarter program. I’ve already contributed.

Claims UFO investigators are being killed by 'men in black' after latest 'mystery death'

EXTRAORDINARY claims have been made that UFO investigators are being killed by so-called men in black have been made after the mysterious death of a 32-year-old newly married alien researcher.

Gaurav Tiwari was found at his Dwarka flat in northwestern India under what has been reported as “mysterious circumstances”.It has led to new claims that as many as “dozens” of other UFO investigators have died in suspicious circumstances over the years. The Times of India reported that Mr Tiwari’s death was treated as suicide. But relatives say as a newlywed he had no reason to end his life and that he seemed normal in the run up to his death.

According to father, Uday Tiwari, he was drinking coffee with his wife when there was a loud thud from the bathroom.

They found him unresponsive on the floor and he could not be revived.

Police said a black line was found around his neck, leading to a conclusion of asphyxia.

Another theory was he fell hitting his head and inflicting a fatal wound.

An autopsy is due, with an inquest, also being awaited.

Mr Tiwari senior, did however, reveal that his son told his wife weeks before his death “a negative force was pulling him towards it.”

The grieving dad said: “We don’t believe in ghosts etc, but his death has left us shocked and puzzled.”

His son had founded the Indian Paranormal Society, and took part in regular TV shows.

    It is claimed mysterious
It is claimed mysterious “men in black” are behind UFO expert deaths.
He also investigated thousands of haunted sites,Conspiracy theorists have already moved to connect the tragedy to a series of other deaths of UFO researchers both explained and unexplained.Professor G Cope Schellhorn has posted a list of allegedly suspicious deaths of UFO researchers at Metatech.org.He says more than five dozen UFO researchers, investigators, authors, alien contactees and military personnel have died of heart attacks, sudden onset of cancers, and supposed suicides.

His list followed that of a special investigative piece on UFOs in Saga magazine in 1971 when author and comic legend Otto Binder chronicled the “suspicious” deaths of 137 UFO investigators in the previous 10 years.

Opinions are split within ufology on the substance of these claims, with only hardcore conspiracy theorists believing secret men in black working for government agencies like the CIA are actually bumping people off.

Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, said these sorts of claims predated 1971.

He said: “Deaths related to UFOs go right back to when Kenneth Arnold first saw a fleet of UFOs in June 1947 and brought about a worldwide wave of ‘flying saucer’ sightings. A bizarre set of tragic circumstances surrounded the so-called Maury Island case.

“This involved the sighting of six doughnut shaped UFOs by Harold Dahl, that dropped hot slag like material onto his boat, burning his arm and killing his dog in the process. The next day his employer, Fred Lee Crisman, visited Maury Island where he found tons of debris and saw another UFO in the area.”

Kenneth Arnold was called in to investigate the sighting, and feeling out of his depth he invited two Air Force Intelligence agents, Captain Davidson and Lieutenant Brown to help him interview the witnesses.

They weren’t impressed with the validity of the sighting, but took away samples of the debris for analysis.

As they were returning to their base at Hamilton Field, California, the port engine of their B-25 aircraft caught fire and they were killed when he crashed near Kelso, Washington State.

An anonymous caller to the local newspaper, named the victims before the crash was made public and claimed the aircraft was shot down by a 20mm cannon because it was carrying fragments of a flying saucer.

Two men and a dog had been killed, and Kenneth Arnold was nearly added to the list. When he took off from Tacoma, his engine failed and he had to make a crash landing.

On checking his aircraft, he found that his fuel valve had been switched off.

Paul Lance, a reporter for the Tacoma Times, who covered this story, died suddenly two weeks later of meningitis.

Mr Watson added: “Ufologists today now think this was an elaborate hoax that got out of hand, and could have been instigated by a US intelligence agency to discredit Kenneth Arnold’s original sighting.

“The story gets even more complicated when we consider that Fred Lee Crisman in October 1968 was subpoenaed to go before the Grand Jury in charge of investigating the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

“District Attorney Jim Garrison’s enquiry thought he resembled one of the three tramps arrested near Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas, on the day of the assassination and believed he was a long-standing CIA employee.

“Furthermore, according to UFO conspiracy theory, the CIA killed President Kennedy because he wanted to share UFO secrets with the Soviet Union.

“In addition, Marilyn Monroe was allegedly murdered because she was speaking too freely about UFOs.

“The night before her death she had spoken to the TV celebrity columnist Dorothy Kilgallen about the Roswell saucer crash of 1947.

“Kilgallen subsequently died under mysterious circumstances on 8 November 1965.

“This shows how these various deaths can be woven together to support the idea that the truth about UFOs and alien visitations is being suppressed and discredited.”

Mr Watson said many of these cases could be coincidences or people trying to make something out of nothing. He added: “There are certainly some strange incidents, for example, UFO researcher Philip Schneider’s became increasingly fearful for his personal safety; ‘government vans’ followed him and several attempts were made to run his car off the road.

“Eventually, his worst fears were confirmed in January 1996. A friend broke into his apartment in Willsonville, Oregon, where his dead body had been rotting for several days.

“At first, it was thought he had died from a stroke, and then an autopsy found that rubber tubing had been wrapped and knotted around his neck.”

The official verdict was suicide but his former wife, Cynthia, and several friends could not accept this.

He was found with his legs under his bed and his head resting on the seat of his wheelchair – an unusual position for a suicide – and there was blood nearby that did not seem to be Schneider’s.

His lecture material and UFO writings were missing from the apartment, yet valuables had gone untouched.

But Mr Watson is not convinced UFO researchers are repeatedly being bumped off.

He added: “Government agencies could be at work but it seems very extreme to murder people, especially over decades, when there are easier ways to discredit UFO researchers.

“Another theory is that mysterious Men in Black and the aliens themselves are behind these murders to eliminate anyone who gets to close to the truth about their operations.”

An Ancient Device Too Advanced to Be Real Gives Up Its Secrets at Last

Though it it seemed to be just acorroded lump of some sort when it was found in a shipwreck off the coast of Greece near Antikythera in 1900, in 1902 archaeologist Valerios Stais, looking at the gear embedded in it, guessed that what we now call the “Antikythera mechanism” was some kind of astronomy-based clock. He was in the minority—most agreed that something sosophisticated must have entered the wreck long after its other 2,000-year-old artifacts. Nothing like it was believed to have existed until 1,500 years later.

An Ancient Device Too Advanced to Be Real Gives Up Its Secrets at Last

In 1951, British historian Derek J. de Solla Price began studying the find, and by 1974 he had worked out that it was, in fact, a device from 150 to 100 BC Greece. He realized it used meshing bronze gears connected to a crank to move hands on the device’s face in accordance with the Metonic cycle, the 235-month pattern thatancient astronomers used to predict eclipses.

    Live Science

By 2009, modern imaging technology had identified all 30 of the Antikythera mechanism’s gears, and a virtual model of it was released.

    Nature Documentaries

Understanding how the pieces fit goes together confirmed that the Antikythera mechanism was capable of predicting the positions of the planets with which the Greeks were familiar—Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn—as well as the sun and moon, andeclipses. It even has a black and white stone that turns to show the phases of the moon. Andrew Carol, an engineer from Apple, built a (much bigger) working model of the device using Legos to demonstrate its operation.

    John Pavlus

In June of 2016, an international team of experts revealed new information derived from tiny inscriptions on the devices parts in ancient Greek that had been too tiny to read—some of its characters are just1/20th of an inch wide—until cutting-edge imaging technology allowed it to be more clearly seen. They’ve now read about 35,00 characters explaining the device.

An Ancient Device Too Advanced to Be Real Gives Up Its Secrets at Last

    Petros Giannakouris/Associated Press

The writing verifies the Antikythera mechanism’s capabilities, with a couple of new wrinkles added: The text refers to upcoming eclipses by color, which may mean they were viewed as having some kind of oracular meaning. Second, it appears the device wasbuilt by more than one person on the island of Rhodes, and that it probably wasn’t the only one of its kind. The ancient Greeks were apparently even further ahead in their astronomical understandingand mechanical know-how than we’d imagined.

Could this strange corpse be the world's first proof aliens have visited Earth?

PARANORMAL investigators are calling for DNA tests to be carried out on a bizarre corpse that some believe could be the world's first alien dead body on Earth.

    The bizarre

    Brian Forsester*YouTube

The bizarre "creature" said to have been found in a jar.

With its tiny winged frame and reptilian face, the "dead alien" has all the hallmarks of an elaborate hoax, but some alien investigators believe it could be the real deal.

Author Brian Foerster claims to have found the unusual winged small humanoid corpse in a specimin jar in an office in Mexico earlier this year.

Claims are now being made in a video clip online that X-rays carried out on the "dead body" have shown a skeletal structure inside, leading to calls for further analysis, including DNA tests.

But there have been claims the clip entitled "What is this weird creature with wings in this jar?" could be an online money spinner, because the clip promotes a website where viewers have to pay to see the full documentary.

In a promotional blurb for the video clip, Mr Foerster wrote: "I saw this very odd animal in an office in Mexico City in January of 2016.

"As a trained biologist I have a hard time thinking it is fake.

    “What do you think?"

In the clip, which appear to be highlights from a longer documentary, LA Marzulli, an author and filmmaker, is seen investigating the discovery.

He meets with Mexican paranormal journalist Jamie Maussan, who says: "It is a hybrid, and that is something very important, because i believe these are confidential experiments, and why I don't know.

"But we have a physical body. We can analyse that physical body and prove that something, an intelligence, is behind these experiments."

But we have a physical body. We can analyse that physical body and prove that something, an intelligence, is behind these experiments.

Mr Marzulli is then seen with an unnamed man in a white lab coat with glasses, who viewers would assume was a scientist.

He says: "It has wings. We have an X-ray of this creature and we can see the structure of the bones.

Mr Marzulli asks him: "So this is not a hoax, because an X-ray would show if it was a puppet or a mould?"

The man replies: "No, it is not a hoax. It is not a mould."

UFO blogger Scott C Waring, of ufosightingsdaily.com, is very excited, referring to it as a fairy, and would like to see DNA testing carried out.

He wrote: "Here is an interesting creature that was caught in Mexico and placed in a jar in a museum.

"It is well known that aliens could be any shape and size, even of tiny insect size with genius IQs.

"Intelligence has no limits. This discovery in Mexico of this fairy is very human-like in appearance, and does look real.

"I wish we could get a DNA analysis of this creature to back it up."

There have been a number of historic claims of alien creatures being found in the past, when mysterious corpses were produced.

Further tests have found them to be complete hoaxes, or made using the corpses of various earthly animals literally stitched together.

WATCH: Most clear and shocking video footage of a UFO you will EVER see

A SHOCKING video that shows a "crystal clear" UFO allegedly caught on a dash cam is being looked at by paranormal investigators.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmVok-w2t7g

The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) has been sent a 19-second long clip said to have been filmed in Nairobi, Kenya, African, this month.

One of the biggest complaints about alleged UFO footage is that the clips are often blurred, out of focus, or filmed from too far away.

But in the video sent in to MUFON, there is bio mistaking the flying saucer that roars over the remote road.

The footage, which has been branded a CGI hoax by many viewers, begins with someone seen filming in one of the the rear view mirrors of the vehicle.

It is overcast and raining, and the quality of the recording itself is quite poor.

Then a finger is seen to point out of the window and towards the top-right of the screen.

Judging by what is implied is about to pass over head, the cameraman remains very calm and silent.

At 11 seconds in an aeroplane-like noise is heard before a huge classic movie-style flying saucer flies over the road as if descending to land.

It goes out of view again beyond trees and undergrowth at 13 seconds, before the noise changes to an echoing boom before stopping.

If it were not a fake, it would be the most sensational UFO video captured to date.

One of the greatest burdens that UFO investigators have to bear, in the course of their collecting and investigating sighting reports submitted by members of the public, is the deluge of apparently false reports and cases of mistaken identity that have to

    MUFON investigator Peter Davenport

MUFON, based in the USA, is the world's largest organisation dedicated to the investigation of alien abductions and UFO sightings and footage.

But the organisation has previously admitted that it does get inundated with hoax footage by pranksters and other individuals, which in some cases have to undergo initial assessment, tying up investigators.

The organisation accepts that this is one of the pitfalls of being an organisation dedicated to such research.

MUFON investigator Peter Davenport said on the website: "One of the greatest burdens that UFO investigators have to bear, in the course of their collecting and investigating sighting reports submitted by members of the public, is the deluge of apparently false reports and cases of mistaken identity that have to be waded through, and eliminated from, the stream of incoming data.

"What prompts people to create and submit bogus reports is unclear, save for the apparently widespread lack of self-discipline, and lack of concern for others, that seems all too common in mankind.

"However, the fact remains that such deception takes place constantly, and that it probably will continue in ufology, and elsewhere, until long after we have finally laid to rest the mystery of UFOs."

GOVERNMENT CHIEF'S DEATH BED CONFESSION: 'I was shown inside alien UFO at Area 51'

A FORMER government emergency expert made a detailed death bed confession of how he was shown inside an alien flying saucer at the top-secret Area 51 military base, it has been sensationally claim

    By

Paul Hellyer and the no-entry signs at Area 51.

Paul Hellyer and the no-entry signs at Area 51.

Paul Hellyer, a former Canadian Minister of Defencem, said an unnamed former Canadian Chief of Emergency Measures revealed the astonishing story just before his death from a neurological illness.

Mr Hellyer, 92, revealed the claim to a panel of the world's top UFO and alien investigators and experts.

Speaking at the "Hearing on ET Disclosure” in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, Mr Hellyer explained that if he wanted to know about the workings of an alien space craft he would "ask the current chief of emergency measures".

Mr Hellyer, who became a UFO expert after claiming to have seen proof of alien visitations while in office, said: "The reason I know is I interviewed the previous one, who is now deceased, and he went Langley and the CIA asked if he would like to see one of these crafts.

"They flew him to Area 51 and let him go inside one and observe it and make notes and this sort of thing."

Conspiracy theorists have insisted for years Area 51 is where evidence of alien visitations of Earth are secretly held away from public view, including the remains of the alleged 1947 Roswell flying saucer crash.

The top-secret military base in the Nevada desert, America, has intrigued and mystified UFO and alien chasers for years, particularly as the US Government only and reluctantly confirmed its existence in 2013.

Mr Hellyer added: "I guess, presumably, it was to be in better to cops with it if one crashed here and he was involved in trying to do something positive about it.

"But before he was allowed to go had to go he had to sign an oath of secrecy and not tell anyone, and during his life he didn't tell anyone including his wife, and an Air Force buddy phoned me and he was dying of Lou Gehrig’s disease and at that point he felt he should tell someone.

Paul Hellyer said the dying official confirmed he was shown inside alien technology at Area 51.

"I phoned him and he gave me a full report of what he saw and the whole idea of the inside of the craft and this sort of thing, and the fact he had been in a brief and many things, but now he felt he could tell somebody and he thought that would be a good one to tell."

Mr Hellyer was Canadian Minister of Defence from 1963 to 1968 and was deputy prime minister in 1969, but outed himself as a UFO believer 11 years ago.

Last year he made headlines across the globe after claiming up to 80 different species of aliens were in communication with world leaders, but governments across the world were involved in a mass cover up.

He told a TV news interview that some of the aliens lived on one of Saturn's moons called Andromedia.

But sceptics claim he was deluded and to have debunked him because none of Saturn's 62 moons and satellites have this name.

Victor Viggiani, who chaired the hearing, said: "The more important and dramatic piece of evidence presented by Hellyer was a story he told about the day he was called to listen to some death bed confession.

"Paul did not provide dates for the events but he received a call from a man who said that the former head of emergency measures in Canada and that he has a story he wanted to get off his chest."

Wireless Energy Transmission On A Global Scale? Nikola Tesla Would Be Proud.

If only Nikola Tesla (inventor of AC or alternating current that is used world-wide, the fluorescent tube that we use to this day ) were alive to see this now; a group of Russian physicists are picking up from where he had left off, using his patents and ideas to finally create the masterpiece that had been long suppressed: wireless electricity transmission. Their work has been largely forgotten, and just like Tesla himself they have not reached their funding goals, but they still seem to be publishing updates regardless.

Nikola Tesla holding a gas-filled phosphor-coated light bulb which was illuminated without wires by an electromagnetic field from the “Tesla Coil”

In 1891, Nikola Tesla gave a lecture for the members of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers in New York City, where he made a striking demonstration. In each hand he held a gas discharge tube, an early version of the modern fluorescent bulb. The tubes were not connected to any wires, but nonetheless they glowed brightly during his demonstration.

Wireless electricity transmission solves a number of problems: it allows people to receive electricity without large-scale infrastructure costs, transmission to remote locations becomes feasible, and terrain is no longer a restriction. This ONE invention could well grant billions of people access to life-empowering electricity… Assuming they succeed that is.

The basis for the project involves using the Earth as a wire, rather than a physical wire. Anybody who understands electric circuits realizes that most devices come with three wires: Live, Neutral and Earth. Normal transmission of electricity starts at a power plant, and is sent through the live wire. It returns via the neutral wire.

There a reason for having an Earth wire though: The Earth is described as the destination of lowest “potential difference”, a potential difference being analogous to gravity… but for electricity. The Earth is also in a sense, for the purpose of electrical transmission, fairly conductive.

Colossal bolts of electricity arced hundreds of feet from the tower’s top to lick the landscape. A curious blue corona soon enveloped the crackling equipment. Millions of volts charged the atmosphere for several moments, but the awesome display ended abruptly when the power suddenly failed…. Tesla confirmed that the Earth itself could be used as an electrical conductor

In the event of a short-circuit, electric current often builds up in the device …. until an object touches it and completes a circuit leading down to the Earth. That object is often an unwary person, who would soon get a shockingly informative lesson on physics.

The Earth wire is designed to take the charge straight into the Earth, in the place of the unfortunate victim. Hence its name. Anyway, long story short, Tesla hoped to use the reverse process to transmit electricity directly; no need for Live or Neutral wires, when the Earth is sufficient. The Earth itselfwould be “charged” up like a giant battery via a Tesla Tower,  causing an opposite charge to be created in the ionosphere. This massive potential difference would allow transmission of electricity to anywhere where a receiver is equipped with an antenna and an Earth wire.

Imagine watching TV via the power of lightning.

There are other aspects of Tesla’s work that are not being addressed by the scientists at this point, one of which being electricity generation rather than mere transmission. By using the Earth as a dynamo, or by making use of the existing potential difference between the ionosphere and the Earth, Tesla had hoped to be able to generate electric charge which would then be dissipated around the world. The man was ambitious.

Tesla’s ambitions were thwarted by money; the first real Tesla tower, the Wardenclyffe Tower, was near completion and showed “encouraging signs”. The project would be abandoned when Tesla himself spent all his savingson the project.

“It is not a dream, it is a simple feat of scientific electrical engineering, only expensive — blind, faint-hearted, doubting world! […] Humanity is not yet sufficiently advanced to be willingly led by the discoverer’s keen searching sense. But who knows? Perhaps it is better in this present world of ours that a revolutionary idea or invention instead of being helped and patted, be hampered and ill-treated in its adolescence — by want of means, by selfish interest, pedantry, stupidity and ignorance; that it be attacked and stifled; that it pass through bitter trials and tribulations, through the strife of commercial existence. So do we get our light. So all that was great in the past was ridiculed, condemned, combatted, suppressed —

only to emerge all the more powerfully, all the more triumphantly from the struggle.”

    Nikola Tesla

Disclaimer: the website was written by Russian scientists (duh), and the English used within was at times difficult to understand. I apologize in advance for any misinterpretation of their work. It should be noted that several potential problems regarding Tesla’s idea exist: wireless energy transmission on its own might be very inefficient, as the stored charge in the ionosphere/ Earth might randomly discharge as lightning. This problem might be mitigated if we were to use the existing charge in the ionosphere as a means of electricity generation though. Other problems probably exist that reduce the efficiency of this method, but it remains a field worth exploring.
