WikiLeaks Documents Reveal United Nations Interest In UFOs
An international UFO committee almost became reality.
Numerous WikiLeaks documents from 1978 reveal strong interest in UFOs at the United Nations.
Revelations in a set of hacked emails released by WikiLeaks earlier this month have sparked new conversations about UFOs and speculation that extraterrestrialshave been visiting Earth. But a very significant ― and possibly overlooked ― group of WikiLeaks items relevant to the topic was released on May 18, 2015.
WikiLeaks posted more than half a million U.S. State Department diplomatic documents from 1978 detailing America’s interactions with countries all around the world ― including Grenada Prime Minister Eric Gairy’s efforts to organize a United Nations-based committee to research and investigate global UFO reports.
Many of the documents, written by American UN officials, indicated how closely they were monitoring Grenada’s UFO-related activities.
One document, from Nov. 18, 1978, revealed my involvement in helping Grenada to produce a credible UFO presentation.
I had an opportunity in early 1978 to meet Gairy in New York to present an idea about how I thought the UN would pay attention to his UFO crusade. Through his ambassadors, I gave him a copy of a documentary record album, “UFOs: The Credibility Factor,” that I produced for CBS Inc. in 1975.
Gairy and I met, and after I convinced him I could bring a very credible group of speakers to the UN, he agreed to sponsor my proposal (see image below). Shortly after a handshake deal, he made me a temporary delegate-adviser of Grenada and the rest was, well, history.

The following image shows part of the group I brought together in July 1978 to meet with UN Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim. He wanted to know what we were planning to do at our November event in front of the Special Political Committee, which included representatives from the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

On July 14, 1978, producer Lee Speigel (now a Huffington Post writer) brought together a group of military, scientific and psychological experts to meet with United Nations Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim to discuss Speigel’s upcoming presentation to the U.N. Special Political Committee later that year. Topic: The importance of establishing an international UFO committee. Pictured from left: USAF astronaut Col. Another cable posted on WikiLeaks, from Nov. 24, 1978, refers to Ambassador Richard Petree’s meeting with Grenada representatives “to discuss their UFO resolution. Ambassador Petree acknowledged the high level of interest in UFOs among some elements of the private sector and scientific community ... and pointed to the budgetary impact as a major concern of the U.S. and other countries.”
On Nov. 28, 1978, the day after our presentation at the UN, this document was sent through official channels, detailing the actual UFO event, describing what each of the invited scientific and military speakers had to say to the member nations.
A few days after that, on Dec. 2, 1978, a follow-up cable was transmitted, including the following:
Subsequent to the introduction of the Grenadian UFO resolution, Misoff [Mission Officer] has engaged in two separate informal negotiating sessions, which included representation from Austria, USSR and Grenada, in an attempt to arrive at a mutually acceptable compromise solution to the problem.
A draft decision to be taken by the Special Political Committee (SPC) has been agreed upon by the participants in the informal negotiations, subject to concurrence of their respective capitals. We think referral of the [UFO] matter to the Outer Space Committee (OSC) without a preordained mandate as to what action is to be taken, provides the flexibility the OSC needs to take whatever action it deems appropriate.
It will also obviate the need to vote on a resolution (and gamble on the results).
The following week brought forth another document, on Dec. 8, 1978, which stated:
“The General Assembly invites interested member states to take appropriate steps to coordinate on a national level scientific research and investigation into extraterrestrial life, including unidentified flying objects, and to inform the secretary-general of the observations, research and evaluation of such activities.”
It was further suggested that Grenada’s views on UFOs could be discussed in 1979. Unfortunately, that didn’t come to pass, as Grenada Prime Minister Gairy was overthrown in a 1979 coup.
Needless to say, without the Gairy-based initiative on UFOs, it was quietly relegated to Grenada’s back burner.
This is the tip of the UFO-UN iceberg. It shows how the subject of UFOs wasn’t merely officially ridiculed or slapped aside. There was, and perhaps still is, some interest there, just waiting to emerge.
In June of this year I wrote an article here at Mysterious Universe titled “Libraries and Strange and Sinister Encounters.” It told the eerie tale of a UK-based UFO researcher, Nigel Wright. It was a story concerning UFOs, a library, and a mysterious “Woman in White.” Such “library cases” are far from being rare. I have far more than a few in my files, several of which I’m sharing with you now.
In 1967, John Keel investigated the odd case of Jane (actually a woman named Jaye Paro), who, after having a UFO encounter that had a “missing time” component to it, had a weird library-based experience. It was in May 1967 when the strange affair went down, and the location was the Mount Misery area of Huntington, New York. A couple of days after the encounter, something occurred that is a common factor in both MIB and Women in Black encounters: Jane received an odd and somewhat disturbing telephone call. The mysterious woman at the other end of the line did not identify herself to Jane. Instead, in a weird, “metallic”-sounding style, she instructed Jane to go to her local library, to ask the staff for a specific book on Native American history, and to then turn to page forty-two and read it. Very carefully. It was an extremely curious request, but Jane felt oddly drawn to follow the instructions of her anonymous woman.
Jane reached the library around mid-morning. Even her arrival was dominated by profound oddities: aside from the librarian and Jane herself, the building was completely empty of people and was vacuum-like in its silence and stillness. As for that same librarian, Jane described her as only a Woman in Black can be described: her hair was black, her eyes were “very black,” her skin was olive, and her black-colored outfit was curiously out of time. In Jane’s words, the WIB was dressed in “an old-fashioned suit like something out of the 1940s, with a long skirt, broad shoulders, and flat old-looking shoes.” Most astonishing of all, before Jane could say anything, the WIB handed her – from under a desk – a copy of the very book Jane had been instructed to seek out by her mysterious caller.
Jane, unsettled, but determined to find out what was going on, took a seat, opened the book and turned to page forty-two. As she did so, the writing on the page changed from large to small, and back again, several times. Rather amazingly, the writing then did something else: it morphed into a message. Jane was able to remember the entire, length message – word for word – something which suggested it had been subliminally implanted in her mind. She carefully wrote it down:
“Good morning, friend. You have been selected for many reasons. One is that you are advanced in auto-suggestion. Through this science we will make contact. I have messages concerning Earth and its people. The time is set. Fear not. I am a friend. For reasons best known to ourselves you must make your contacts known to one reliable person. To break this code is to break contact. Proof shall be given. Notes must be kept of the suggestion state. Be in peace.”
With that, Jane stood up from the chair and closed the book. The WIB was nowhere to be seen. Jane was all alone in a deserted, silent library. To say she fled the place in terror would be an understatement. Still focused on 1967, we have the following…
Gareth J. Medway, who has compiled an excellent resource tool for anyone wanting to learn about the history of Men in Black encounters, says of an October 1967 case: “Mrs. B. of Mamosa, San Luis Valley, Colorado, who had made a painting of a crescent UFO that she had seen, was visited by a man who told her: ‘I cannot read, but mention any book in any library and I will be able to tell you its contents [italics mine].’ He went on to say that humans waste too much time and energy on food ‘when it could all be so easily taken from the atmosphere.’ He insisted on buying her painting, so she set a high price, to which he replied that he had no money. He departed in a car which had an Arizona registration; months later police said they could not trace the plates.”
Peter Rojcewicz had a deeply strange, library-based encounter in November 1980. On the day in question, Rojcewicz was working on his PhD thesis in folklore. It was while doing research at the Library of the University of Pennsylvania that something very weird happened to Rojcewicz. He said: “It was a strange day, weather-wise, with erratic shifts of rain and wind and sun. It would get very blustery, and then it would become very calm. It was approximately 4:30 P.M. and already on the dark side.”
As Rojcewicz studied hard, and as nightfall loomed, he suddenly became aware of a darkly-clad, tall and thin man in his midst. The odd character had tanned skin, black and greasy hair, sunken eyes, and a hard to define accent, but one which had a strong European flavor to it. In addition, he wore a Texan-style string tie. The man asked Rojcewicz what he was working on, and Rojcewicz told him that he was researching the UFO phenomenon. The MIB then proceeded to ask Rojcewicz if he had ever seen a UFO. He replied he was more interested in accounts of UFOs than whether or not they were alien craft. The MIB was not happy by Rojcewicz’s response. In a loud voice he said, ‘Flying saucers are the most important fact of the century, and you’re not interested?!’ The man then stood up – ‘as if mechanically lifted’ – put his hand on Rojcewicz’ shoulder, and added, as he walked away, ‘Go well in your purpose.'”
What does all this mean? I haven’t a clue! But, such reports proliferate – as do encounters with the MIB and WIB in bookstores, which is an equally strange issue I will return to at a later date.
1947-era documentation relative to the Roswell affair of July of that year is not non-existent. It is, however, certainly rare. One piece of documentation – not of military origin, but which came from a German citizen in the immediate wake of the controversial affair – is worth noting.
It’s a curious and interesting letter, to be sure. It was written by one Heinz-Adalbert Ahuis (see this link for information on Ahuis). At the time, he lived at 23 Asnabruck, Hansa-Str. 7, in what was then the British Zone of Germany. In his letter, which was sent to the American Embassy, and that was marked “Strongly Secret!”
Ahuis wrote:
“Dear Excellency: “Last few weeks in American and German papers I read much about the so-called ‘flying discs’ (or ‘flying targets’) that are said to be seen suddenly coming up in some states of your country, and that are disquieting your publicity so much. I would like to examine more accurate the type that came down near Roswell (New Mexico). Please, do also take this matter as serious as it really is, and do not think it a vision.”

Ahuis continued: “Just concerning this I am an expert. I am very skeptically as to the ‘calming-explanation’ of Brigadier General Roger Ramey and others, who say that these disks are merely meteorological observation-balloons – or supplements of them – etc. I am interested in this business very much, and so is the American Army, I am sure. In connection herewith and in order to explain my odd wish, Excellency, I must inform you of the following.”
Ahuis got to the point of his communication: “Since 1929 till the end of the war by the way as a hobby I occupied myself – completely interested in sport only – in developing flying-models of all kind and shape, chiefly sail-planes and rocket types. Sailplane-soaring was and still is my favorite sport. With my researches in 1936, among others, I met also the idea of the ‘flying disks’ and pursued it, considering it already at that time once to be of any importance. Later I searched into the qualities of this model in connection with rocket-experiments, and about the good result I was extremely surprised. (Nowadays we could already use atomic power, too).

“I found, that my models of a ‘flying disk’ – in smaller and bigger size – 1.) for the investigation of the sphere, 2.) for military aims, and 3.) for the air-traffic of the future could and presumably will play a not too undervaluing figure, and in many a point even it will be superior to all other planes and rocket-projectiles, including the German ‘V-2 – rocket’ you know already; for I think it possible, manned_disks 1.) to fly every course we want, and 2.) to and safely again, (what we cannot absolutely affirm 3.) the most rocket-constructions know until today).”

Ahuis signed-off: “I am ready to continue my researches and developments of such a kind of disk-models and disk-planes (as well as still other very interesting ones) on a place in U.S.A. that seems fit for that purpose. Perhaps I may come and see you once to talk about some details necessary?”
To what extent – if at all – Ahuis’ letter was followed up on remains unknown. Maybe, he just wanted to get the hell out of war-torn Germany and he used his UFO-themed letter as a form of leverage. We’ll probably never know.

Robert Powell, Director of Research from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON), shared with Eye Opener some of his case studies from the last few years.
1. Ontario, Canada - August 28, 2013 While on a hunting trip in a remote wilderness area of southern Ontario, Canada, three hunters observed for about five minutes a large barbell shaped craft that came within a distance of 400 feet of their location. The craft had no seams and had two disk shaped ends that had a large bar-like connection between them.
There was an indigo plasma that covered most of the craft. The craft rotated slowly around its center while emitting an electrical spark like shower. There was electrical interference with the operation of the witness's cell phone, video camera, and a field radio. The primary witness used his 9x gun scope to observe the craft.
He is a research scientist and his company has contracts with the Department of Defense. All witnesses want their identity protected.
2. Montgomery, NY - August 15, 2015 Two adults and two teenagers were observing heat lightning from their back porch. The 17-year-old decided to go through the woods into a pasture in order to get a better look at the lightning. He saw a disk shaped object in the pasture that made an indentation in the tall grass with a light beam. The grass had been compressed and Geiger counter readings of the affected area indicated radiation levels that were six times higher than the background radiation levels. Background radiation levels were .12 micro-seiverts while the affected areas read .78 micro-seiverts.
3. Aguadilla, Puerto Rico - April 25, 2013 On April 25, 2013, at about 9:20 pm local time, an unknown object at low altitude flew directly across the Rafael Hernandez airport runway at Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, causing a delayed departure of a commercial aircraft. There was no squawking transponder signal to alert the aircraft tower, nor was there any communication with the tower to prevent a dangerous situation with departing and arriving aircraft. Fortunately an airborne U.S. Customs and Border Protection aircraft captured the object on infrared video. This report is an analytical evaluation of that video as well as witness statements and radar data of the area.
Unknown targets are picked up on radar northwest of the airport just prior to contact with the US Customs aircraft, which visually identifies an object coming in over the ocean to the northwest of the airport. The object in the video moves at speeds of 80 to 100 mph at altitudes of only 30 to 40 feet without lights and through a residential area as well as crisscrossing the airport. The object returns to the ocean where it dives into the water with minimal splashing; moves through the water at speeds of 80 mph; leaves the water and then splits into two equal halves that are the same size as the original. Both of these halves eventually dive back into the water and do not return, at which point the video ends.
Area 51, the Bermuda Triangle, Roswell. Why are the most famous UFO mysteries so United States-centric? Movies probably have a lot to do with it.
In fact, it was the Independence Day Resurgence home release last week that got us thinking — what about Australia?
Our overseas mates might be surprised to learn that Australia can really hold its own when it comes to spooky UFO reports and abduction testimonies. With mass sightings, "alien hot spots” and even a mysterious oceanic triangle of its own; Down Under has its fair share of alien stories to tell around the camp fire.
Want to hear some? It's almost Halloween, after all. Granted, it's not a holiday directly associated with aliens but you get it. *insert spooky synth sounds*
Mary Rodwell is the founder and principal of the Australian Close Encounter Resource Network, and she's the person you call when you spot a potential UFO, FYI. Especially since the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) officially stopped looking into reported sightings in the '90s. She says that it's due to Australia's large size and small population that you don't hear about UFO sightings more.
She told Mashable: "A lot of the time so we don't get it [UFO sightings] recorded or people don't want to talk about it, particularly in more isolated places where farmers see stuff, as they do, and have that experience.
"I have people contacting me every week ... So this isn't just dear old America here, this is everywhere," she said.
While it may be happening everywhere and on the regular, there are some definite Aussie stand outs when it comes to UFO tales. And thanks to Rodwell, we have some leads on the best ones. You're welcome!
1. Mass sighting at Westall High School
The Westall incident is often referred to on the dark corners of the web (where Angel Fire websites dwell), as Australia's most significant mass UFO sightings. It occurred in 1966 at Westall High School in Melbourne. Over 100 students, teachers and members of the public claimed to have seen three metallic objects in the sky, hovering closely.
Afterwards, witnessed claimed they were paid a visit by "men in black" and teachers said they were told to dismiss the incident by police and military authorities. A case of mass hysteria, or something more? *X Files theme tune plays softly in the background*
2. Frederick Valentich, the pilot that vanished
Okay, this is a doozy. in 1978, a 20-year-old pilot and UFO enthusiast named Frederich Valentich was flying over the Bass Strait (separating Tasmania and mainland Australia) when he radioed air traffic control in Melbourne.
In the transmission, the young man describes an object hovering 300 metres (1,000 feet) above him and said it was "not an aircraft." He made statements like "it has a green light and a sort of metallic light on the outside," and "It’s coming for me right now," before his signal was lost. His plane disappeared without a trace. *mystery intensifies*

3. Kelly Cahill, X Files inspiration
Australian woman with the pseudonym "Kelly Cahill" was referenced in the first rebooted episode of the X Files, because that's how cool her case is. In 1993, she and her husband were driving though the Dandenong Ranges when they saw a big ol' "blimp" thing and went to get a closer look.
Next minute, Cahill wakes up in her own car feeling oddly relaxed. The couple returned home only to realise they'd lost an hour and creepily, that Cahill had a painful triangular mark near her bellybutton. Over the next few weeks, she experienced flashbacks, eventually appearing on TV programme Today Tonight (of course) to tell the story of her abduction.
4. The case of the Knowles family
Believers like Mary Rodwell say the 1988 experience of Faye Knowles and her three sons (and their two dogs) is one of the most significant "close encounter" testimonies ever.
Also reportedly involving several witnesses, the story goes involves the family witnessing an egg-like, bright structure. They then went on a high-speed car chase against the object, climaxing with the family's car being lifted from the road as weird black dust, high-pitched sound and a horrible smell overwhelmed the car. "I felt like my brain was being sucked out," said eldest son Patrick at the time. *dun dun DUN*
5. Wycliffe Well, self-described UFO capital
UFO hobbyists rejoice! Australia's got its own tiny town chock full of cute alien signposts. It's a great place for a road-side Instagram. Wycliffe Well is found in the Northern Territory and it calls itself the UFO capital of Australia.
While the idea that it actually experiences "nightly UFO sightings" is up for debate, there's no doubt that it's got the quirkiest caravan park for miles around.
While it's cool to think about road tripping to Australia's UFO hotspots, according to Rodwell, if extra terrestrial beings want to contact you, they'll damn well find a way.
"There does seem to be certain places where craft are seen that little bit more often," she says, "but to be quite honest with you if you're someone they're interested in they can pick you up ... It can be a huge craft above Sydney that you would never see but it would be there if it needs to be…"
Better keep those eyes peeled, earthlings. The truth is out (back) there.

It may be among the most popular destinations for human tourists but aliens will have to holiday elsewhere, as the mayor of idyllic French town Châteauneuf-du-Pape refuses to lift a ban against UFOs in the area.
"Any aircraft, known as flying saucer or flying cigar, which should land on the territory of the community will be immediately held in custody," the upheld law reads, introduced in 1954 after a man in the area claimed to see two beings dressed like “deep sea divers” emerging from a “cigar-shaped” space-ship, according to France Bleu.
"I'm not going to touch the ban," mayor Claude Avril told France Bleu, attributing the bizarre law to “making a buzz” for the town
The ban, introduced by then-mayor Lucien Young, was praised as brilliant marketing by his son Elie Jeune who said "At that time, people were talking a lot about extra-terrestrials and the unknown, it was in fashion, and there were loads of stories circulating."
"He wanted to make a bit of an advertisement for Châteauneuf,” he added. “It was an excellent publicity stunt... and free."
A Californian vineyard “Cigare Volante,” whose name was inspired by the ban, is proof of his father's plan paying off, along with the fact that no pesky aliens or UFOs have been spotted in the area since.
The town has maintained its quintessential French look, refusing to cave in to tacky tourism. No alien gift shops or UFO tours are visible in the area, with the French deciding to leave that task to Roswell, New Mexico.

In April 2016 I visited an elderly couple from Gowarzow (read: Gho-vash-ouv) village the in Radmsko area of Poland who had very interested story to tell.
Gowarzow is a small, quiet community located amongst fields and forests in the Gidle commune in Central Poland. Neighboring Gidle village is famous from a Marian sanctuary with a miraculous stone figure that centuries ago was found in the field by a local farmer.
But Mr. and Mrs. R., now both in their seventies had an even more miraculous story to tell. The sighting occurred on January 10th 2011. The couple were returning home at about 9 pm from a visit to their severely ill relative living several houses away.
Gowarzow is a small village with houses very close to each to other and has an old shop building in the center. The witnesses recalled that the main road was empty and all the inhabitants were in their houses because the winter night was cold but very calm, without any wind, snow and ice.
At about 9:10, R’s saw a bloody red spherical object coming out of the western sky. They observed the UFO descending on to their neighbor’s field, about 300 m from their house. When they arrived at the location they clearly saw the strange object standing on the field behind a barn of their neighbor.
Mr. R. who was the main witness in this incident said that at that moment his frightened wife went inside and he decided to examine the strange sighting from afar.
It was about 9:20 pm when he began his observation of one of the strangest UFO landings I’ve ever heard of. Mr. R was observing the object standing near the barn on his lot. Although the UFO landed about 300 m away, it was clearly visible. The object was bloody red, spherical and about 5-6 m in diameter. Around the UFO there were at least 3 “small people” visible. It seemed that they stood on a sort of platform around the object and were bustling around. There were also three “shafts of light” 2-3 m long, protruding from the top of the sphere.
Mr. R. - a man of sharp mind and a very reliable observer stressed that the beings around the object must be very small, just around 0.6 m tall. He said that they looked like excited children and were “joyfully” moving around the object.
He was unfortunately too far away to recognize any features of the midget-like beings and Mr. R decided not to approach the scene any closer. But the most interesting aspect of the Gowarzow landing is the sound accompanying the landing. Mr. R. is sure that he could hear the “voices” of the beings. Their speech must have been very loud and intensive and resembled “excited talk” although he couldn’t recognize any details or words. After about 10 minutes the beings “disappeared” in some unknown way as well as the bright shafts of light. The ball - according to Mr. R. jumped up and down twice and then shot upwards disappearing in to the west.
On the next day Mr. R and his neighbor examined the place of the alleged landing. The object must have stood on or was hovering over a small field between a grove of trees and a small pond. The grove of trees is close to a barn of Mr.R.’s neighbor who unfortunately saw nothing strange on that day (the barn is obscuring the view from his house).
There were no traces left by the UFO or the beings.
Mr. R. tried to discuss the encounter with his neighbors but it seems that he and his wife were the only witnesses to the UFO landing in the field. Mrs. R. several days after the incident asked the local priest what the bloody red object could have been? The priest had no idea. Five years after the incident the landing site has changed dramatically. The pond had dried up and the shrubs had grown blocking the view on the landing site from Mr. R’s lot.
Mr. R is still puzzled by the incident and asked himself: “Why did the small people seem to be so happy?”

In another alien and UFO related activity, a mysterious footage has come up on YouTube that shows a supposed fleet of flying saucers over Santiago's sky in Chile, South America.
Ever since the footage surfaced, people have begun to talk about the extraterrestrial activity as a fair number of viewers think that the sighting was nothing but UFOs.
The video which has been snapped over Santiago's sky appears to show four flying saucers, reports Daily Express. At first, the glowing lights seem to be floating in the distance, making a strange formation and then they spread out only to disappear completely in seconds. The pictures were taken on Thursday at 6 p.m. local time.
Later, they were sent by the photographer to the Mutual UFO Network aka MUFON- the biggest organization in the world dedicated to UFO research and study. According to the said photographer, he did not take the pictures with the intention of capturing UFOs and they were detected later after a review of the snapshots.
On the other hand, MUFON has said that it gets so many reports on a daily basis that it is unable to investigate every case. Nevertheless, it would not take much time for the body to figure out if they are UFOs or something else. As of now, some, including one forensic investigator of UFO pictures, said that they might also be reflections of light inside the building from where the photos were taken.
Meanwhile, the social media is divided in opinion about the video of the flying saucers, reports The Daily Mail. One viewer says that he initially thought that the flying objects were Chinese lanterns tied together but they were moving at a great speed. Another said that they seemed very real. Some said that the UFO claims were false as the lights were nothing but drones flying over the city.
It may be mentioned here that Chile has witnessed many UFO sightings and one of its cities, Andean town of San Clemente has become the hub of such activities and it is known as the country's capital for flying objects.
Writing on his “Answers in Genesis” blog, Ham attempted to respond to Scottish astronomer Duncan Forgan, who has been running computer simulations about the possibility of alien civilizations.
“Jesus did not become the ‘GodKlingon’ or the ‘GodMartian’!” he wrote at the time. “Only descendants of Adam can be saved. God’s Son remains the ‘Godman’ as our Savior.”
A team from the Aerospace International Research Center (AIRC) has announced the plan to send up a satellite in 2017 and build a new country called Asgardia, named after a city in Norse mythology.
This project aims at creating a protective shield for humankind by defending the Earth from asteroids, dangerous meteorites, space debris, and other threats.
Their core concept is to set up an everlasting space station where people can live, work, and have their own rules and regulations. Asgardia will operate as its own country, independent of any Earthly nation state.
Project leader Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli, said, “It is the realization of man’s eternal dream to leave his cradle on Earth and expand into the Universe. Asgardia’s philosophical envelope is to ‘digitalize’ the Noosphere, creating a mirror of humanity in space but without Earthly division into states, religions, and nations. In Asgardia we are all just Earthlings!”
Asgardia would be an independent nation, and a future member of the U.N. People who are interested in becoming the first citizens of this space nation can apply on the Asgardia website
Professor Ram Jakhu, director of the Institute of Air and Space Law, explained, “The (Asgardia) vision is very, very clear. This nation will do things to help protect the Earth and, secondly, it will be for exclusively peaceful purposes and also allowing access to developing countries that don’t have that (space access). So, if that is done, recognition will not be a major problem. If these four elements (territory, people, government, and recognition) are achieved it will become a state and can apply for its membership in the United Nations.”

Toen Peter wat van het materiaal wilde verzamelen, ontdekte hij dat het geen katoen of spinrag was. Het bleek te gaan om ‘engelenhaar’.
In 1969 liet de Amerikaanse luchtmacht onderzoek doen naar het vermeende verband tussen engelenhaar en UFO’s. Volgens de onderzoekers ‘valt het materiaal in grote hoeveelheden uit de lucht, is het instabiel en valt het snel uit elkaar’.
Onzeker
Het Condon Report concludeerde dat de samenstelling of herkomst van het engelenhaar in een aantal gevallen onzeker is.
In het geval van Peter kon het mysterie al snel worden opgelost. Enkele dagen later meldde een lokale krant dat de auto van een entomoloog bedekt was met honderden babyspinnen. Hij legde uit dat de witte draden het gevolg waren van spinnen die door de lucht vlogen.
Volgens ufologen en complot-experts hebben de draden een buitenaardse oorsprong. In 1561 zou in Neurenberg engelenhaar uit de lucht zijn gevallen. Vaak wordt het waargenomen na een UFO-melding.
Buitenaardsen
UFO-onderzoeker en piloot Brian Boldman deed in 2001 uitgebreid onderzoek naar engelenhaar. Hij bestudeerde 225 gevallen van engelenhaar tussen 679 na Christus en 2001.
Boldman kwam tot de dat de slierten in sommige gevallen kunnen worden toegeschreven aan spinnen, maar dat andere gelinkt kunnen worden aan buitenaardse activiteit.
De piloot stelde dat in 75 procent van de gevallen ook een UFO-melding was gedaan. Volgens hem is er sprake van een sterke link tussen beide fenomenen.
Chemtrail
Er zijn ook ufologen die zeggen dat engelenhaar geïoniseerde lucht is, voortgebracht door een elektromagnetisch veld van een UFO.

PARANORMAL investigators claim to have rumbled a top-secret Ministry of Defence (MoD) alien research centre hidden deep underground in a UFO hotspot.
The British Earth and Aerial Mysteries Society (BEAMS) has released a bizarre 109-page report, following a “special investigation” into the former MoD Defence Evaluation and Research Agency site now run by specialist defence, security and aerospace developer Qinetiq.BEAMS claims Farnborough has had high UFO sighting and alien abduction activity for years and thinks this might be connected to the alleged secret base. The group is convinced there is as much underground as above and what goes on there involves aliens, UFOs, intergalactic defence and futuristic flight development.
Their bizarre theory is based upon cryptic alien symbols they have “discovered” within the site, alleged intelligence service whistleblower testimonies, and the responses from psychic researchers, the report claims.
The BEAMS website says it was set up in 1991 as as a non profit-making studies group into the paranormal.
It said: “We have set up a network of active investigators who relay their gathered information through to our HQ.
“As reporters of the truth, duties of the BEAMS Team include research, interviewing, photography and journalism.”

But the clincher, in their opinion, was the roundabout system near the main building.
Referring to an aerial slide of the roadways on site, which highlighted this roundabout, the report said: “We suggest that this is a stylised, diagrammatic representation of a grey/reptilian figure – just like the Aboriginal supreme creator paintings attempted to portray – which is only visible like this from the air.”
Posing the question “why was it there?”, the report said: “Why incorporate a massive image of an alien, or supreme creator within a top secret subterranean military site – somewhere so sensitive that it is virtually our own British equivalent of the Area 51 complex in Nevada.”
They surmised that the powers behind the site were confident the public would never see through their cryptic code, but “those” who needed to would recognise it instantly.
Besides, if the roundabout did not do the trick, there was more.
The couple concluded the roof and canopy of the main building had purposely been designed in the shape of a flying saucer just to hammer home the purpose of the secret base to those in the know.
They said the existence of the “underground” parts of the site described by “sources” were further proved by Qinetiq’s involvement in mining coupled with a strange rumbling noise they allegedly heard a cross Farnborough over the last 15 years, which they deduced was it being secretly expanded.

He said: “Sceptics think such stories are the product of malicious disinformation or fantasies, yet that doesn’t stop people believing in their existence. Perhaps if we all go under that flying saucer ‘shelter’ we might all believe.”
An MoD spokesman said: “We do not comment on UFO matters.”
Express.co.uk contacted Qinetiq to comment on the strange suggestions and awaits a further response.
A spokesman said: “We’re taking a look at the very detailed dossier and working on a response.”

It is believed that the Soviet Union was engaged in a conflict with aliens. Russian contact with aliens happened during 1940s and 1950s.
During the 1940s and 1950s UFO-mania gripped the US as reports of flying saucers, men in black and alien abductions filled newspaper pages.
Around the same time the Soviets also began to have increasing contact with apparent aliens and growing reports of spacecraft entering airspace over Russia.
Soviet-born UFO researcher and author Paul Stonehill told Daily Star Online: “The Soviets were shocked so many UFOs could penetrate their borders and basically just do what they wanted without any control from the Kremlin.
“There were many more cases of direct encounters than in the United States, and anything which was flying over the Soviet Union was very interested in secret military installations.”
Throughout the Cold War and the space race Soviet forces frequently clashed with UFOs.
Mr Stonehill said: “The Kremlin was paranoid but they could not do anything about it.
“They tried on several occasions where orders were given out from on high to shoot down UFOs, or local commanders would take it upon themselves.
“However, it always ended badly for them.”
The researcher, whose articles have been published in 11 languages, unearthed a culture of total secrecy over the phenomena in the Soviet Union.
Kremlin bigwigs would pass off any public reports of the phenomena as a “hoax perpetrated by the Western powers”.
A secret research programme called SETKA was established in 1977 after the Petrozavodsk incident in which 48 UFOs appeared in the atmosphere across the Soviet Union.
The incident came to a head in the industrial city of Petrozavodsk when a huge glowing object appeared overhead – seemingly beaming shafts of light towards the Earth.
The aim of the programme was to work out what the UFOs were – with Soviet higher-ups acknowledging the craft could not be of Earth-bound origin.
Stonehill said much of the archives of the programme remain under lock and key, but he added it was passed down between the communist state’s top military minds and scientists.
Forms were also then handed to any soviet soldier, sailor or airmen who reported a UFO encounter for them to file fully detailed reports.
He said: “It was prolific enough to really make you wonder just how much the Soviets knew”.
A bloody encounter between an alien craft and Soviet forces occurred in 1953 shortly after the death of Joseph Stalin.
The large UFO, initially thought by witnesses to be a “blimp of dirigible”, appeared above the Taiga in Siberia.
Soviet military chiefs dispatched a military special detachment to the area.
When they attempted to engage the craft with aircraft the three Soviet planes just “burned away”, says Mr Stonehill.
A secret order was issued to Soviet forces during the mid-1960s giving Russian commanders strict instructions to “not shoot at UFOs, leave them alone”.
Mr Stonehill said: “The aliens would fight back and destroy whatever unit would shoot at them.
“They would disintegrate planes, and in some cases the UFOs also acted first.”
He added: “No government wants to be powerless in the face of a threat, and it got to the case of the Soviets being very scared.”
But despite these violent clashes, he says most Soviet encounters were characterised by alien craft simply “observing” activity.
He said: “It was as if they were under a microscope. There were reports of UFOs present at most, if not all, of the Soviet space launches.
“The craft seemed to know about the space ports and the secret facilities.”
However, he added the motivations of whoever is piloting the UFOs remains a mystery.
Mr Stonehill has spoken to former military intelligence personnel, government officials and Soviet scientists to reveal the depths of the Soviet UFO encounters.
He has had numerous books published on the subject such as Mysterious Sky: Soviet UFO Phenomenon, Soviet UFO Files and UFO Case Files of Russia.
His most recent publication deals with the related “USO encounters” in Soviet seas as the Russian navy encountered unexplained objects beneath the seas.

Not many people know this, but back in 2009 a British police officer witnessed ‘Alien Beings’ inspecting a fresh crop circle in a middle of a field!
The Police Sergeant who has not been named, witnessed the event back in 2009. The Policeman was off duty at the time when he noticed the unusual ‘Beings’ in the field.
The Police Officer pulled his car over and walked over to the field to see what was going on as he apparently had a ‘strange’ feeling about what he was seeing. However, as he approached the ‘men’ – who were all way over 6ft tall with long blond hair – he suddenly heard “the sound of static electricity” and the trio ran away ”faster than any man he had ever seen” so fast that it apparently almost seemed ‘unreal’.

Leaving the scene of the strange event the Police Officer jumped quickly back into his car and travelled back home to Marlborough, Wiltshire, and then contacted paranormal experts and told them he had spotted a UFO.
Not surprisingly the Police force that the Officer works for, refused to comment at the time and stated “That it was a personal matter!”
The unnamed Police Officer asked for support off a Gentleman called Andrew Russell who is a Crop Circle Investigator.
Andrew described in detail what the Police officer saw on that unusual day:
”At first he thought they were forensic officers as they were dressed in white coveralls. He stopped his car and approached the field. ‘The figures were all over 6ft and had blond hair. They seemed to be inspecting the crop. When he got to the edge of the field he heard what he believed to be a sound not dissimilar to static electricity.
”This crackling noise seemed to be running through the field and the crop was moving gently, close to where the noise was.
”He shouted to the figures who, at first, ignored him, not glancing at him. When he tried to enter the field they looked up and began running.
”He said; ‘They ran faster than any man I have ever seen. I’m no slouch but they were moving so fast. I looked away for a second and when I looked back they were gone.
”I then got scared. The noise was still around but I got an uneasy feeling and headed for the car. For the rest of the day I had a pounding headache I couldn’t shift.”
This strange incident happened on July 6th as the Police Officer was driving down the road. Apparently the three very tall figures were inspecting the odd-shaped Crop Circle in the field. They all appeared deeply interested and analysing the Crop Circle – was it them who made it, or possibly was it their fellow colleagues from a far!?
The crop circle had been there in the field for a few days before this incident.
2009 was a very popular year for Crop Circles in the Wiltshire area, UK.
When the Police Officer walked over the unusual beings, they suddenly become ‘disturbed’ looking and ran off at speeds beyond the Officers belief! As soon as he looked away for a split second they were ‘gone’
A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said:
”The police officer was apparently off duty when this happened so we have no comment to make because it is a personal not a police matter.”
Another Crop Circle Expert, Colin Andrews, who investigated the incident alongside Andrew Russell, said he is ”convinced” by the police officer’s story and does not see any reason at all why the Officer would of made this story up!
”I am quite convinced the officer had an experience that day and one that we have not fully explored.”I think with the unusual movement of the being and the poltergeist experiences there is too much additional information to say that is something in nothing.” He said
Some have suspected that this was the Tall White Aliens that the Officer had witnessed. The Tall whites have even been acknowledged by Edward Snowden, who believes that they are very much in contact with Planet Earth and watching our every move.

It is very interesting that this sighting was in Wiltshire, as this is one of the key UFO/Crop Circle areas around the world (please click HERE for more information on this). Could it possibly be that what this Police Officer saw were the Beings who are responsible for these crop circles being formed around the UK, or perhaps they are just as curious as to ‘what else’ is out there trying to communicate with Earth.
Yes Crop Circles have been deemed by many to be elaborate fakes by students or Drunk Famers at night, but when you actually look at the sheer amount of detail involved to these incredible designs, I personally feel it is impossible for any humans to create such a spectacle over night, in the pitch black of night!

As far as what or WHO these Beings are, is a completely different matter altogether! The way that they have been described sounds just like the Tall White Aliens, and the way they move would kind of confirm that there were no odd-ball humans, but something else, something very unique and different!?
Is it a coincidence that one of the most unknown areas of the world, Stonehenge, is in Wiltshire, and that we have so many unusual sightings in this part of the UK……I don’t think so, and this is why this part of the world is one of THE top UFO Hotspots.

Hundreds of sightings, abductions and first-hand accounts have made it possible to distinguish several distinct alien species that have been in cahoots with military forces, deciding our future without ever consulting us. Below are some of the least obscure ones we could find.
1. The Sirians
Hailing from the Sirius B star system, the Sirians are as advanced as they are ancient. Throughout history, they have imparted their knowledge to human civilizations of their choosing. They gifted the ancient Egyptians with medical and astronomical information and the great pyramids and temples are said to have been built with their help.
The Mayans also had a special relationship with the Sirians, who shared information with this enigmatic South American civilization. The extraterrestrials originating from Sirius B are believed to have played a part in the disappearance of the Maya. They are accredited with leaving behind amazing artefacts such as thecrystal skulls.
Another earthly civilization that benefited from the Sirian presence were the Atlanteans; it is believed that during the cataclysmic event that sunk Atlantis, the Sirians were instrumental in leading the rescue operations. Other civilizations have been influenced by the Sirians, the most notable case being that of the Dogon tribe of West Africa.
Although they were more involved during our planet’s past, nowadays the Sirian’s supposedly play a more subtle role through technology exchange programs. They are often mentioned in connection with covert or exotic weapons research as well as time travel experimentation.
2. The Short Grays
Also known as the Zeta Reticulums, the Grays are some of the most well-known aliens. They are commonly depicted throughout alien pop culture and are the culprits of most alien abductions.
According to most descriptions, they stand 3 to 5 feet tall, have bulbous heads and over-sized black eyes. Although they possess a mouth, they seldom speak, as most communication is carried out telepathically. The short Grays are said to be a genetically-engineered worker race that are controlled by their superiors, the Tall Grays. Their telepathic abilities allow them to constitute a type of hive mind consciousness.
Being genetically-designed to carry out scientific missions, the short Grays are emotionless and cruel. They are also responsible for creating a human-gray hybrid race.
3. The Tall Grays
Standing 7 to 8 feet tall, hairless, and pale, the Gray Masters are the ambassadors of most meetings between human and alien forces. They represent both human and gray biological material combined, and therefore play a lead role in assisting the Short Grays with interacting with humanity. This species is involved in many genetic experiments, and there has now been a hybrid human-Gray race created, containing mind control and diplomatic agreements with the ‘shadow government,’ to which they represent. Sources claim they originate from a star system in the Orion constellation.
The Tall Grays supervise all abductions and human experiments but are seldom present during these events. They prefer to employ the services of their minions, the Short Grays. As it would seem, they are keen on developing a stable human-gray hybrid race, one worthy of inheriting Earth.
An advanced, self-centred race, they place little value on human life. They consider us their property.
4. The Alpha-Draconians
Corrupt and vicious, the Alpha-Draconians infiltrated human society thousands of years ago, and are the oldest known reptilian race in our galaxy. Although they came to Earth from their colonies on Alpha Draconis, their original home world is unknown.
They lay eggs and use a “battle hormone” to accelerate the birthing process. They are a duality. This is why ancestral females do not participate in war, because if they did, there wouldn’t be anybody there to help with the eggs. They also have to be there to secrete their hormone. I am only sharing with you what I know about them through years of research.
A decidedly giant reptilian species, they measure anywhere from 14 to 22 feet tall and weigh an estimated 1,800 pounds of mostly muscle. They can be compared to the Tyrannosaurus Rex. These Alpha-Draconians have black leathery brown scale bellies; whiskers along their chin and jaw line and have multiple abdomens. They are an intelligent race with large heads and reptilian eyes. Some accounts describe them as having tails or even wings and they are, in fact, the only genetic line of their ancestry that is not extinct.
Contactee Alex Collier says he was allowed to share some details about these extraterrestrials:
The Draconians are the force behind the repression of human populations everywhere in this galaxy, instilling fear-based belief systems and restrictive hierarchies.
[…] they’re extremely clairvoyant and extremely clever, and they can also be extremely sinister.”
The Draconians view themselves as the first intelligent species to evolve in the Milky Way galaxy. Competitive and expansive, they have populated many worlds. Their immense egos allow them to see themselves as the rightful rulers of lesser evolved worlds such as Earth.
Their continuous exploitation of the human race proves they consider us an inferior species.
Reports say there are actually two types of Alpha-Draconians divided into two castes: the giant ones are part of a royal caste called the Ciakar while the smaller ones (8 feet tall) form a well-trained warrior class.
5. The Native Reptilians
Often confused with the warrior caste of the Alpha Draconians, these reptilians are said to be native to Earth. Typically, Reptilians are described as being 6 to 8 feet tall, bipedal, with green scaly skin, body odor and large eyes with a vertical pupil. The little information available for this species states that they were originally left behind by the Alpha-Draconians to colonize Earth.
Their interaction with mankind goes back thousands of years, sometimes offering assistance but more often than not using us as a commodity. They have infiltrated almost all aspects of human life and hold positions of power. Several ancient peoples all over the world have described reptilian beings, acting hostile towards human beings. Common Reptilians manipulate our elites and rule our institutions and organizations. They built our current financial system and influence all religions.
The underground reptilian race is also said to control the media and all corporations. They are behind most crimes against humanity.
6. The Anunnaki
According to scientists, there is a 12th planet in our solar system (known as the possible ‘Planet X’). They refer to this planet as Nibiru, which is located somewhere beyond Pluto. This planet, unlike any other planet in our solar system, has an elliptical orbit and moves clockwise rather than counter clockwise. It is said that the collision of Nibiru and another planet in our solar system (Maldek) was what created Earth.
This planet is inhabited by the Anunnaki, who landed on Earth, and originally colonized it. They first came with the intention of mining Earth for gold and other minerals, and live a kind of idealistic society in a small colony. Before heading to Earth, the Anunnaki colonized the planets in the Orion star system.
In need of a workforce, they are said to have created mankind. Through genetic manipulation and in vitro fertilization, they upgraded the genus Homo to sapiens quality. Present on Earth since our inception, the Anunnaki have influenced every aspect of human life. We’ve inherited their patriarchal culture of violence and vengeance; it’s in our engineered DNA.
The Anunnaki are in direct competition with the Draconians for control over mankind.

The now-retired controllers say they tracked a bona fide UFO that covered 120 miles in eight seconds, or three sweeps of their radar beam!
The two U.S. Air Force air traffic controllers who were working in the RAF Bentwaters base tower in late December 1980—during the series of incidents collectively known as the Rendlesham Forest UFO Case—have finally discussed their long-held secret on camera.
Ike Barker and Jim Carey first spoke to me in 2007, allowing me to record their revelations on audio tape. But their dramatic, game-changing testimony is now available on video, in an interview appearing in my newdocumentary film, UFOs and Nukes: The Secret Link Revealed, excerpted here:

The now-retired controllers say they tracked a bona fide UFO that covered 120 miles in eight seconds, or two sweeps of their radar beam! If that were not stunning enough, Carey says the object also made an instantaneous right-angle turn as it left the vicinity. For his part, Barker says he actually saw the amazing interloper as it briefly hovered near the air traffic control tower, describing it as an orange sphere with a series of portholes positioned around its center.
Both controllers are emphatic: This was an intelligently-controlled craft whose capabilities far surpassed any current human technology. Significantly, the incident occurred the same night that USAF Lt. Col. Charles Halt—the Deputy Base Commander at Bentwaters—was leading a small group of Security Policemen through nearby Rendlesham Forest, to investigate strange lights that had been reported there. At one point, Halt described seeing an object resembling an eyeball moving through the trees, dripping a molten-metal-like substance.
Skeptics have always dismissed this “UFO sighting” as a misreported observation of the sweeping beam from the nearby Orford Ness lighthouse—despite the fact that Col. Halt has repeatedly said, as early as 1997, that the lighthouse beam was also visible during the incident, but located some 30-degrees away from the strange glowing object.
According to Halt, the eyeball eventually “exploded” and released five smaller disc-shaped craft that raced away in different directions, something confirmed by USAF Security Policeman Rick Bobo, who saw the spectacle at a distance, from the guard tower at the Bentwaters nuclear Weapons Storage Area (WSA).
After awhile, Halt says, three disc-shaped craft higher in the sky were observed doing grid search-like maneuvers. One of them approached his team, hovered above it, and directed a laser-like beam at their feet. After a few seconds, the beam clicked off and the object moved away, in the direction of the WSA. Seconds later, Halt heard excited radio chatter from guards posted at the facility, indicating that beams from the UFO were falling on or near the tactical nuclear bomb storage bunkers!
It should be noted that the late Georgina Bruni, while researching the Rendlesham Forest UFO incidents, interviewed a former British military radar operator at RAF Watton, Nigel Kerr, who admitted that an anomalous aerial object had briefly appeared on his screen—for three or four sweeps—the night that Lt. Col. Halt and his team were in the woods.
Now that the USAF air traffic controllers’ extensive, detailed testimony is also on the record, we can confidently assert that at least one genuine UFO—a high-velocity, maneuvering, hovering, spherical-shaped craft exhibiting advanced technology—was in the vicinity during the period that Halt described seeing multiple UFOs in the sky.
Nevertheless, questions remain: Why was only one UFO tracked on radar—both at Bentwaters and Watton—when multiple objects were sighted by USAF personnel on the ground? Were all but one of the craft operating in aStealth-like mode? Or does this discrepancy relate to a given object’s altitude, with most of the UFOs maneuvering beneath the radars’ lower detectability-limit? And why did some observers (Halt and his team) observe discs while others (controller Ike Barker and one guard at the WSA, Charlie Waters) report spherical craft?

Strange object on a fresco from Sighisoara monastery
As the famous castle of Dracula in Transylvania goes up for sale it is a a remarkable coincidence that featured in my new book is a medieval painting from a church in Transylvania that some researchers believe depicts a UFO (see below).
In Romania, everyday people, especially in the countryside, always considered the heavenly apparitions not as something impossible but as "divine signs" that can happen normally, though rarely. There are countless testimonies in this regard. This belief was reinforced by the fact that the holy characters of the Christian religion, from the Old and the New Testament were seen on occasion coming down from heavens and returning whence they came.
In past centuries, when, in Romania, most of the population was illiterate, religious teachings were spread and reinforced by the use of frescoes, depicting biblical scenes, covering the walls of churches both indoors and often also outdoors as well. Even if these scenes evoke ancient events and distant lands, the painters painted men and buildings as they knew them in the environment they lived. Similarly, we can assume that they sometimes painted such holy characters in heavenly vehicles that resemble certain celestial objects that they saw themselves flying in the sky (Comets, meteors etc), or that were reported by witnesses of strange airborne apparitions. In areas with Orthodox religion there are many such representations in a variety of different churches.
The city of Târgovişte was the capital of Walachia for several centuries. The construction of the Princely Church in the city was completed in 1583. The frescoes inside have not been repainted but only retouched with all of the original figures and objects remaining exactly the same. As the Romanian journalist Gabriel Tudor noted, on the west wall of the nave, the fresco depicting the moment of receiving the tablets of the Law by Moses on Mount Sinai (the ten commandments), we see a character not mentioned in the Bible: depicted as an angel and placed between two concentric circles, looking as if it had just come out to watch the proceedings. What are those two circles? In any case, surely not clouds which are clearly represented in the nearby paintings in a completely different manner. Also they can not be stars or the moon, because on the same fresco the sun is seen, whose rays are prominently depicted to draw attention that the scene takes place in broad daylight. Could it be that the two circles are a graphic representation, in a primitive manner, of a disc-shaped UFO with a domed top, which the anonymous painter, having not a very good capacity to represent things in a three-dimensional perspective, drew as a circle inside another circle?
The writer and researcher of mythology Victor Kernbach (1923-1995), in his book “Enigmele miturilor astrale” (Riddles of astral myths), detailed that similar frescoes have been in churches from Bucharest as the (old) “Saint Spiridon” and “Bucur”. Unfortunately, the first was demolished under the communist regime, but the second exists today and the pictorial representations are of the same type as those at the Princely Church of Târgovişte.
As the Romania author Călin Turcu (1942-2006) noted in his book “Extratereștrii în România” (Aliens in Romania), “On the walls of the chapel Lainici (Gorj County) can be distinguished a picture quite different from the others. The drawing, done in the early seventeenth century and representing the “Annunciation”, depicts, above the Archangel Gabriel and the Virgin Mary, a heavenly “vehicle” with the shape of a double balloon which again can not be a cloud. The flying object ends with a narrow open tube, where red streaks appear to burst and absorbed behind by a red cloud.
On the walls of Tutana monastery (Argeş county), built in 1577, is depicted an “astronaut”, equipped for space flight. It is by no means an earthly character. Images such as those presented above are reported not only in Romania but also in other countries of the Orthodox faith, as in the Decani monastery in Kosovo and on a number of Russian religious icons.
But the paintings with UFOs are not restricted only to the Orthodox churches. One such painting exists also in a Protestant church, in the centre of Romania. Gili Schechter and Hannan Sabbath, from the Israeli Extraterrestrials and UFOs Research Association, commented in an article of a photo of a mural fresco in the Monastery Church, not far from the Clock Tower in the city of Sighişoara (Transylvania). The photo reproduced in the article was made by Cătălina Borta. Under the image is written in German, a passage from Psalm 130, 7: “Israel trust the Lord!” In the image is a large building, possibly a church, above which floats, slightly oblique, a large disc-shaped object, divided in to about 10 large sections. From the centre of the disc pointing down is a sort of spike. Above the bright object is a short column on which you see other objects that are hard to identify.
The authors could not find who did the painting, nor when. However the text can not date before Luther had translated and published, in 1534, the Bible in German. The authors also noted that the same disc hovering, diagonally divided into sectors and with the stick underneath, appears on a number of medals from the seventeenth century, probably chips used in gambling. It issued its opinion that these objects represent the cartwheel described in Ezekiel's vision.
A similar picture exists in Liber Prodigiorum, a book, written by Julius Obsequens, a fourth-century Roman historian. But the book, which describes the unusual heavenly appearances over Rome, was printed, with engravings added, only in 1552. The authors noted some differences between Sighişoara painting and the objects on the medals; for example, these have almost all a circle of stars on the circumference, while they are not on the object depicted in Sighişoara.
Are these paintings depictions of medieval UFO sightings or do they have a much more mundane and simpler explanation ? As an academic and a UFO researcher I must admit that the images on these paintings are certainly worth a second look and we should not rule out the possibility that they do depict something that today would be described as a UFO

Get ready to pack your bags because there’s a new nation in town, or rather in space. Scientists have unveiled plans for “Asgardia”, a floating nation and defender of the Earth with room for 100,000 citizens.
Dr Igor Ashurbeyli of the Aerospace International Research Center announced the plans in Paris, saying Asgardia aims to “flourish free from the tight restrictions of state control that currently exist.” He announced the plans on the same day he became chairman of UNESCO’s Science of Space committee.
Ashurbeyli said their mission is to act as guardians of the Earth, and the “nation” would first get to work building a protective shield to protect Earth from debris, asteroids and coronal mass ejections from the sun.
Currently all space programs, including commercial, must be supervised and authorised by a government on Earth. When applications for Asgardian citizenship goes above 100,000 they can apply to the UN for the status of state, according to Ashurbeyli.
An online registration form is welcoming applications for citizenship, with the first 100,000 qualifying for automatic citizenship. No word yet on how people can become citizens in the future, or whether there’ll be a wall built between Asgardia and Earth.
Named after the city in the sky ruled by Odin in Norse mythology, Asgardia is the work of a team of scientists and legal experts who claim it will someday become a member of the United Nations with its own flag and national anthem.
Asgardia gets underway in late 2017, when the team plan to launch a satellite into a low-Earth orbit. Until then we’ll have to stay here on boring old Earth.
