At first glance, this image is dominated by the vibrant glow of the swirling spiral to the lower left of the frame. However, this galaxy is far from the most interesting spectacle here — behind it sits a galaxy cluster.
Galaxies are not randomly distributed in space; they swarm together, gathered up by the unyielding hand of gravity, to form groups and clusters. The Milky Way is a member of the Local Group, which is part of the Virgo Cluster, which in turn is part of the 100,000-galaxy-strong Laniakea Supercluster.
The galaxy cluster seen in this image is known as SDSS J0333+0651. Clusters such as this can help astronomers understand the distant — and therefore early — universe. SDSS J0333+0651 was imaged as part of a study of star formation in far-flung galaxies. Star-forming regions are typically not very large, stretching out for a few hundred light-years at most, so it is difficult for telescopes to resolve them at a distance. Even using its most sensitive and highest-resolution cameras, Hubble can’t resolve very distant star-forming regions, so astronomers use a cosmic trick: they search instead for galaxy clusters, which have a gravitational influence so immense that they warp the space-time around them. This distortion acts like a lens, magnifying the light of galaxies (and their star-forming regions) sitting far behind the cluster and producing elongated arcs like the one seen in the upper left part of this image.

The letter mentions how Nikola Tesla successfully invented a device that could be used for Interplanetary Communication.
It explains that Tesla Engineers built the device after Tesla died, in 1950, and have been, since that time in close touch with ‘Space-Ships’.
Furthermore, the document from the FBI mentions how Tesla was a Venusian who was brought to Earth as a baby, in 1856 and was left in the care of Mr. and Mrs. Tesla in a mountain province in the former Republic of Yugoslavia, modern-day Croatia.
Everyone loves a conspiracy, and what better conspiracy than to suggest that Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest scientific minds who ever lived on Earth was an alien. And no, it’s not something we came up with, it is not fake news, but this is in fact mentioned in a declassified document by the FBI, freely available here.
Declassified documents published by the FBI in their online Vault mention a number of interesting things about Nikola Tesla.

Margaret Storm has been assigned to certain work with the Space Popel, as follows: She is writing a book – Return of the Dove — as a story of the life of Nikola Tesla, scientist, and the part his inventions will play in the New Age. Much of the data for his book has been supplied to Mrs. Storm through transcripts received on the Tesla set, a radio-type machine invented by Tesla in 1938 for Interplanetary Communication. Tesla died in 1943 and his engineers did not build the Tesla set until after his death. It was placed in operation in 1950 and since that time the Tesla engineers have been in close touch with the spaceships. George Washington Van Tassel was an American contactee, ufologist and author. Van Tessel an aircraft mechanic and flight inspector who at various times between 1930 and 1947 worked for Douglas Aircraft, Hughes Aircraft, and Lockheed.
Van Tassel claimed to have been in contact with a spaceship from Venus. He was invited on board where ‘Aliens’ verbally and telepathically gave him a technique for rejuvenating the human body. The device was eventually built and called the “Integratron” and was supposedly partially built on the research by Nikola Tesla.
George King was the founder of the so-called Aetherius Society, a religious movement based on extraterrestrial contact. King claimed that the Aetherius Society was the result of alien contact whom he referred to as the Cosmic Masters.
The Aetherius Society combines UFO claims, yoga, and ideas from various world religions, notably Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity.

The book written by Margaret Storm is considered–nowadays–as a work of fiction providing no evidence whatsoever to back the claims that Tesla was either from Venus or another dimension. Nikola Tesla wordt gezien als één van de grootste ingenieurs en uitvinders aller tijden. Bij het grote publiek is hij vooral bekend als de uitvinder van de wisselstroomgenerator en andere belangrijke onderdelen van het huidige elektriciteitsnet.
In een groot online FBI-archief, The Vault geheten, is een interessant document te vinden over Tesla.
De FBI heeft in het archief een ‘Interplanetary Session Newsletter’ opgenomen die dateert van 14 juni 1957.
Interplanetaire communicatie
In het document wordt vermeld dat Tesla een apparaat had uitgevonden dat zou kunnen worden gebruikt voor interplanetaire communicatie.
Dit apparaat zou na de dood van Tesla zijn gebouwd door zijn ingenieurs, om precies te zijn in 1950. Het zou vanaf dat moment zijn gebruikt om contact te leggen met ‘ruimteschepen’.
Venus
Maar dat is nog niet alles: in het FBI-document wordt verder gesteld dat Tesla van Venus kwam en in 1856 als baby naar de aarde is gebracht.
“De ruimtemensen hebben de ingenieurs van Tesla al vaak bezocht en hebben gezegd dat Tesla van Venus kwam en in 1856 is afgeleverd bij meneer en mevrouw Tesla, in wat nu Joegoslavië is,” klinkt het.

Thanks to recent advances in medical technologies, the human brain has become one of the great frontiers of modern science. Brain scanning devices, artificial intelligence networks, and experimental wearables are allowing qualified scientists and amateur “biohackers” alike to begin tampering with the mysteries of the human mind and unlocking hidden human cognitive potential. We might soon find ourselves in a future where the human brain itself becomes just another dataset to be manipulated, uploaded, and stored like any other digital data.
It turns out, though, that the human body might be home to another ‘brain’ entirely, one involved with one of the most important things we do each day. Well, each day for many of us, anyway. Eat your fiber, folks. According to a press release from neuroscientists at Flinders University in Adelaide, the human gastrointestinal tract houses a system of millions of neurons which control the rhythmic muscle contractions which help waste travel through the digestive system.
Nick Spencer, one of the scientists behind the study of this “second brain” published in The Journal of Neuroscience, says“these findings identify a previously unknown pattern of neuronal activity in the peripheral nervous system,” making the gastrointestinal tract “the only internal organ with its own complete nervous system that can operate totally independently of the brain and/or spinal cord.” Spencer and his colleagues even suggesting that this “second brain” might be actually the “first” human brain because it likely evolved before the central nervous system. That is, humans were able to produce bowel movements long before we were able to think about producing bowel movements.

The enteric nervous system, as the “second brain” is known, has been known to science for some time, but this study is the first to identify this neuronal activity. While far from discovering an actual second brain, this research does reveal that there are still far more mysteries hiding within the human body and mind than we likely realize. Japanse sociale media waren afgelopen weekend in de ban van nieuws over een 13-jarige jongen die op telepathische wijze contact zou kunnen leggen met UFO’s.
Hij maakte het afgelopen jaar een aantal foto’s van onbekende vliegende objecten, die veel aandacht hebben gekregen.
De 13-jarige Haruya Ido wordt in de Japanse media ook wel ‘UFO-jongen’ genoemd, omdat hij ongeïdentificeerde vliegende objecten zou kunnen oproepen.
Adamski
Toshitaro Yamaguchi, een bekende paranormale onderzoeker en de man die Haruya’s foto’s als eerste met de wereld deelde, zei dat het jongetje een zogeheten contactee is met het vermogen om telepathisch contact te maken met UFO’s.
Haruya zou vorig jaar op vier verschillende plekken in Japan UFO’s hebben weten te fotograferen. Op zijn website documenteerde hij de waarnemingen.
“Het reflecteert op de straatlampen langs de kant van de weg, ik vraag me af of het een UFO van het type Adamski is,” schreef hij over de UFO die hij op 29 maart 2017 op Awaji in de prefectuur Hyogo fotografeerde.
Wit gat

Op 21 april 2017 fotografeerde de jongen een sigaarvormige UFO in Nozaki in de prefectuur Osaka.
“Er ontstond een wit gat en ik zag zeven dingen die mysterieuze bewegingen maakten,” zei hij over een foto die hij op 30 december vorig jaar maakte. “Ik denk dat het een object is, maar ik weet het niet zeker.”
Aangezien er op Japanse sociale media veel aandacht is voor de jongen, gaan we vast meer van hem horen.
De inwoners van het Deense eiland Bornholm zijn geschrokken, want er is iets dat hun eiland doet trillen en schudden.
Niemand weet wat het is, maar het zijn definitief geen aardbevingen want seismografen registreren helemaal niets.
Bij ons misschien niet zo bekend, maar bij onze oosterburen is het Deense eiland een populaire vakantiebestemming. Het ligt op een strategische locatie in de Oostzee zoals te zien op het volgende plaatje.
Het begon allemaal ongeveer een week geleden toen vooral de bewoners aan de oostkant van het eiland het gevoel kregen alsof het eiland onder hun voeten bewoog. Dit tezamen met een soort geluid dat afkomstig leek van diep uit de aarde zorgde ervoor dat mensen zich verschrikt afvroegen of ze getroffen waren door een aardbeving.
Echter, wat het ook was, definitief geen aardbeving omdat de seismografen helemaal niets registreerden. Het trillen en schudden begon vorige week woensdag en ook op vrijdag gebeurde er weer hetzelfde.
De aarde trilde onder hun voeten, alsook de ramen in hun sponningen en dieren gedroegen zich heel onrustig alsof ze een bepaald gevaar waarnamen.
De Deense geoloog Jorg Butzbach heeft er ook geen enkele verklaring voor en zoekt het antwoord voor dit raadsel dan maar in de lucht zoals gewoonlijk wanneer niemand weet wat het is.
Het is altijd het standaard verhaal: er zal wel een vliegtuig door de geluidsbarrière zijn gevlogen wat het harde geluid en de trillende ramen heeft veroorzaakt. Echter, navraag bij de militaire instanties leert dat er op de momenten dat dit werd waargenomen geen vliegtuigen in de lucht waren die dit veroorzaakt konden hebben.
Hieronder volgt een video van Tyler van Secure Team die nogal wantrouwig is ten opzichte van de geoloog Butzbach. Dit, omdat deze er alles aan doet om de aandacht af te leiden van waar het zich werkelijk afspeelt, onder de grond, en omdat hij maar blijft hameren op een oorzaak in de lucht.
We noemden al eerder dat Bornholm op een hele strategische plek ligt in de Oostzee, dus is het misschien de bedoeling dat Butzbach inderdaad de aandacht moet afleiden omdat er onder de grond allerlei activiteiten plaatsvinden? In de Oostzee, op grofweg 800 km van het eiland, is bovendien een onbekend object gevonden al een paar jaar geleden, waar wij uitgebreid verslag over hebben gedaan, wat mogelijk een buitenaardse herkomst heeft of een basis onder de grond/zee. Het lijkt een grote afstand en mogelijk is het inderdaad te ver weg, maar voor UFO's zijn dit soort afstanden een wandelingetje naar de buurtsuper.

Dat in de bijzondere tijden waarin wij leven er dito dingen staan te gebeuren, staat buiten kijf.
Zo hebben we gezien dat komeet P67 radiosignalen uitzendt, maar dat is iets dat ook de planeet Saturnus doet, de plek waar zich enorme ruimteschepen bevinden.
Een komeet die radiosignalen uitzendt en waar de Europese ruimtevaartorganisatie ESA miljarden euro’s aan uitgeeft om die te onderzoeken.
Ogenschijnlijk kwam er enkele weken geleden een einde aan de Europese ruimtemissie naar de komeet 67P
Op 30 september 2016, om 12.38 uur crashte Rosetta gecontroleerd op de komeet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Om 13.20 uur (Nederlandse tijd), kwam de bevestiging binnen dat Rosetta gecrasht is. Deze vertraging werd veroorzaakt doordat het 40 minuten duurde voordat de data de aarde bereikte. De sonde werd in overeenstemming met internationale afspraken automatisch uitgezet vlak voor de landing, dit om te voorkomen dat de zender als een stoorzender in het zonnestelsel zou gaan werken en andere observaties zou gaan storen. De crash betekent het einde van de succesvolle missie van Rosetta.
Echter, de dag voordat Rosetta crashte, zijn er toch nog wel een paar interessante opnames gemaakt waaruit blijkt dat die komeet toch wel even iets meer is dan men ons wil laten geloven.
Zoals op de volgende opname te zien, hangt er een grote UFO boven de rotsmassa van komeet 67P.
Maar komeet P67 is niet de enige plek waar radiosignalen vandaan worden opgevangen en waar UFO’s worden waargenomen.
Dit gebeurt ook op Saturnus, waar het volgens Scott Waring lijkt alsof de ringen rondom deze planeet fungeren als een soort versterker. Hij zegt dat het voor mensen waarschijnlijk ondoenlijk zou zijn om deze te ontcijferen omdat ze permanent variëren en dat je, om dat te kunnen doen, waarschijnlijk een vorm van AI (Artificial Intelligence) nodig hebt.
De volgende video geeft een indruk van het soort boodschappen die vanaf de ringen van Saturnus worden opgevangen.
Wie denkt dat er niets gebeurt op Saturnus komt bedrogen uit, want naast de transmissies van deze planeet zijn er ook enorme ruimteschepen waargenomen. Schepen die zo groot zijn dat ze in staat zouden zijn om een flink deel van de mensen op aarde, zo niet iedereen, van de aarde te evacueren als dat nodig mocht zijn.
Zijn de signalen van Saturnus misschien een boodschap voor de mensheid om ons te laten weten dat ze klaarstaan en komen als dat nodig is?
Hierbij een deel van een artikel van jaren geleden, waarin duidelijk wordt dat er zich grote ruimteschepen nabij Saturnus bevinden.
Rondom/in de ringen van Saturnus bevinden zich ruimteschepen die wellicht bedoeld zijn voor de evacuatie van de aarde.
En het zijn geen kleintjes; zelfs het mindere formaatje van deze megaschepen heeft een lengte van bijna 12.000 kilometer.
We weten dat er veel meer gebeurt in de ruimte dan de officiële kanalen zoals NASA ons willen vertellen.
Maar toch, ook zij maken fouten en slagen er niet altijd in om alles voor ons verborgen te houden.
Zo verscheen in 2007 onderstaand foto, genomen door de Hubble ruimtetelescoop, met daarop de ringen van Saturnus en nog iets anders...
Naast één van de ringen zie je duidelijk een gigantisch ruimteschip. Ook een foto, gepubliceerd destijds in een Franse krant, laat heel duidelijk deze geweldig grote exemplaren zien rond de ringen van Saturnus.
Iemand die heel veel onderzoek gedaan heeft naar deze grote objecten rondom Saturnus is Dr. Norman Bergrun. Hij heeft ook een boek geschreven over dit fascinerende onderwerp, genaamd “Ringmakers of Saturn”.
In dit boek wordt veel bewijsmateriaal geleverd, afkomstig van NASA ruimteschepen en/of telescopen, die zonder enige twijfel aantonen dat er gigantische ruimteschepen actief zijn rondom/in de ringen van Saturnus. Als we zeggen gigantisch, dan is dat ook precies wat we bedoelen. De lengte van deze cilindervormige schepen variëert van ongeveer 12.000 kilometer voor de kleinste tot meer dan 50.000 kilometer voor de grootste. Even ter vergelijking: de doorsnede van de aarde bedraagt iets minder dan 13.000 kilometer.
In een recent interview verklaart Dr. Bergrun dat er een foto bestaat waarin te zien is hoe wezens één van die schepen verlaten. Het merkwaardige is volgens Bergrun dat ze pikzwart zijn en een lengte hebben van ongeveer 2,5 meter. Een ander interessant gegeven is dat er in de jaren '70 een “contactee” was met de naam Dan Fry die dingen vertelde over Saturnus die hij destijds niet uit beschikbare informatie kon hebben gehaald.
Hij vertelde dat er gigantisch grote ruimteschepen waren die zich verborgen hielden in de ringen van Saturnus. Wat de aanwezige buitenaardsen aldaar hem hadden meegedeeld was dat ze straks een rol zouden spelen in de overgangsperiode van de aarde. Het meest interessante wat ze vertelden was dat wanneer de grote schoonmaakoperatie eenmaal goed zou beginnen, deze schepen gebruikt zouden worden om tijdelijk mensen vanaf de aarde te evacueren.
Eén ding lijkt duidelijk uit alle beschikbare documentatie: er bevinden zich enorme objecten rondom/in de ringen van Saturnus. Het idee dat deze ons komen halen in het geval dat nodig mocht zijn, is natuurlijk wel een hele prettige gedachte.
A UFO found in a forest in the Fujian province of China prompted an immediate investigation, determining that the object really did come from space.
The UFO, however, did not have aliens crawling out of it nor did it come from a planet a million light-years away. The investigation on the once-mysterious object revealed its true origin, disappointing alien hunters.

UFO In China Identified
There have been several strange UFO sightings since the year started, so there was immense hype upon the release of reports that a crashed UFO was found in a forest in China.
The large metallic object was found by a pair of power plant employees while on their way to work. The workers initially thought that it was a fragment of a wrecked UFO and contacted the police to investigate it.
The investigation of the alleged UFO confirmed that it did indeed come from space, but its origin was from Earth. The object was determined to belong to the Long March 4C rocket, which recently launched the satellite named Queqiao or Magpie Bridge. The satellite will be the first one to operate from the dark side of the moon.
The launch of the Long March 4C rocket and the Magpie Bridge satellite went fine, but apparently, officials of China's space agency lost track of where the rocket's nosecone will land.
The rocket's nosecone is what the two workers discovered in the Fujian forest. The location where the spacecraft component crashed is mostly woodland, but it is near some populated villages. The locals were actually recruited to help carry the once-alleged UFO for safekeeping, and then the authorities retrieved the nosecone and transported it to the launch center.
Recent UFO Sightings
The UFO spotted in China, even though it was not real, continues the trend of UFO sightings in 2018.
The first alien sighting of 2018 was in Mexico, where a vertical UFO was spotted hovering in the air. This was followed by an alleged UFO crash in Antarctica.
Pilots also reported a UFO with a reflection in the border of Arizona and New Mexico, and the most recent UFO sighting was during a lightning storm in the Czech Republic, when a triangular UFO was spotted.
Perhaps the most intriguing report on a UFO sighting so far this year, however, was the newly declassified video that showed U.S. Navy pilots in a run-in with a white UFO over the Atlantic Ocean in 2015. The UFO, which moved very fast, made one of the pilots scream in horror.

In December 2017, the New York Times made a huge splash when it first reported that military personnel onboard the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier have detected anomalous aerial vehicles that exhibited technologically advanced behavior no human-made aircraft had ever shown. The report came on the heels of the Pentagon releasing three fuzzy videos showing how the UFOs engaged with the team onboard the aircraft carrier.
The military has since remained mum on the issue, leaving much of the incident in the dark. However, Las Vegas TV station KLAS reports they have obtained a copy of a 13-page reportprepared by the Department of Defense that analyzes the events related to the incident 14 years ago.
Tic Tac UFO Incident Of 2004
In late 2004, the USS Nimitz and its group of ships detected mysterious objects traveling the surrounding skies at supersonic speeds. Even the AN/SPY, a highly advanced radar that can track a golf ball traveling at 100 miles per hour, could not lock in to the UFOs. On Nov. 14, 2004, the supporting ship USS Princeton sent brand-new F-18 jets to further investigate.
"It takes off like nothing I've ever seen," says retired pilot Dave Fravor, head of the elite Black Aces unit and pilot of one of the F-18s. "One minute it's here, and off, it's gone."
The report says the Tic Tac-shaped UFO was solid and smooth, with no visible edges. There were no pylons, nacelles, or wings. Instead, it looked like a "white, candy-coated shell, almost like a white board."
The UFOs, the report says, were able to drop "very rapidly" from 60,000 feet down to 50 feet in a few seconds. Then they would hover unmoving on the radar before they left as fast as a bullet leaving a gun.
Highly Advanced Technology Not Made By Humans
Among other revelations, the report says that even the world's most advanced radars had difficulty locking in and engaging with the vehicles. However, the Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) on the F-18s could detect the UFOs when stationary or moving at low speeds.
The report also states that the mysterious vehicles were able to stay stationary at the same altitudes for long periods while being able to take off at supersonic speeds, which suggest highly advanced "acceleration, aerodynamic, and propulsion capability." There were no visible control surfaces or any other means to generate lift.
No aircraft in the United States or anywhere else in the world is known to have exhibited the same qualities, according to the report.
What is highly astounding, however, is that the report states that the UFOs were possibly equipped with "cloaking" technology, allowing them to become invisible to the human eye as well as man-made sensors.
Rendezvous With A Mysterious Underwater Object
As noted by one of the F-18 pilots, the sky that day was clear and blue. The ocean was calm, and there was unlimited visibility. The pilots spotted a water disturbance on the surface of the ocean, which looked like "frothy waves and foam as if the water is boiling."
The disturbance was round-shaped and spanned 50 to 100 meters in diameter. One of the pilots who flew over the area said the disturbance looked like a sinking ship or a submarine. It is possible that the disturbance could be the area of a shoal where corals or an island is barely submerged, but as he flew away, the pilot said the disturbance was gone and could no longer tell where it took place.
The pilot did not see any object in the sky or underwater that could have caused the disturbance, which means that the vehicle could have been able to cloak itself and remain invisible when its pilots want it to.
Fravor also witnessed the disturbance. According to the report, he attempted to get close to the UFO, which he said was hovering above the water disturbance. However, as he started his descent, the object seemed to have detected Fravor closing in and changed its axis to point at him. It was at that moment that the disturbance disappeared, and the UFO took off at a supersonic speed.
Is It A Bird Or A Balloon Or None Of Those?
Since the incident was revealed, the pilots have become the subject of ridicule by armchair experts who postulate that the UFOs were more likely a bird, a balloon, or an objected created by human error.
However, Department of Defense intelligence officer Luis Elizondo, who previously headed a secret Pentagon program to investigate UFO incidents, urges everyone to let the data speak for itself.
"Let the information we receive from the electro-optical data; electro-mechanical mechanisms be the tool in which we look and compare what the eyewitness testimony is saying," Elizondo says.
A video apparently shot by a teenager in the skies of Wycombe, UK is now the hottest point of debate among conspiracy theorists. The video shows a UFO flying in the skies in an eerie manner leaving trails of white smoke behind.
Lucas Budel, the 19-year-old teenager who captured the video revealed that he spotted the mysterious flying object near his home in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, an area nearer to the Royal Air Force base. Interestingly, the UK government had used this Air Force base to probe alleged UFO sightings reported in the UK.
"I was just sitting in my room at my computer when I saw an extremely bright light falling from the sky. I initially thought it was a meteor falling, which is already quite unusual to see, until its motion stopped for a few seconds and went back up. I was so in awe that I didn't have time to record it. It then disappeared," said Lucas Budel, Daily Star reports.
As the video went viral, most of the viewers strongly argued that the UFO is from outer space. As per these theorists, the object spotted in the video has made some unusual movements in the sky which no human craft can do with the current technology.
However, a section of conspiracy theorists claimed later that the object might be actually a secret military spacecraft flying with the help of alien technology. After closely analyzing the video, Budel suggested that the object might be an electric cloud.
"The best way to describe it was like an electrical cloud moving in alternating directions continuously. At one point it looked as if red sparks or electricity was flying out of it. At another point, it seemed like whatever it was lost its power and started falling to the ground before the 'engines' started back up," explained Lucas.
The new sighting was reported just a few days after another UFO was spotted above the skies of Area 51, the alleged secret military base in the US. The video clip of the incident showed a bizarre flying object hovering across the skies, and at times, it pulsated in a very bizarre manner.
Now, fresh details about the bizarre backstory to one of these unexplained incidents have emerged, courtesy of a recently leaked confidential military reportthat describes "several occasions" where the US Navy detected Anomalous Aerial Vehicles (AAVs) in late 2004.
But as the document makes clear, the incident wasn't just a one-off, but a week-long series of strange run-ins with AAVs, which "would descend 'very rapidly' from approximately 60,000 feet down to approximately 50 feet in a matter of seconds".
Once these AAVs dove, "[t]hey would then hover or stay stationary on the radar for a short time and depart at high velocities and turn rates".
In most circumstances, advanced sensors on board the USS Princeton would track the AAVs during these manoeuvres, until they went out of range.
But in one incident – now immortalised in creepy video footage you can freely watch online – two F/A–18s were vectored to intercept one of the AAVs, with visual contact confirming "an elongated egg or a 'Tic Tac' shape with a discernible midline horizontal axis".
According to the pilots, the craft – if that's what it was – was "solid white, smooth, with no edges… uniformly coloured with no nacelles, pylons, or wings" and estimated to be approximately 46 feet in length.
Per the military assessments made in the document – which at least one observer claims may be a document prepared for the Pentagon, not by it – the AAV was not a known aircraft or vehicle in the inventory "of the United States or any foreign nation … with no visible control surfaces and no visible means to generate lift".
But perhaps the most astonishing new details from the report concern is an account of water disturbance on the calm ocean surface, observed in relation to an AAV incident, estimated to be between 50 to 100 metres in diameter and in a round shape.
"It was the only area and type of whitewater activity that could be seen and reminded [the pilot] of images of something rapidly submerging from the surface like a submarine or ship sinking," the report reads.
"It is possible that the disturbance was being caused by an AAV but that the AAV was 'cloaked' or invisible to the human eye."
Freaky stuff. For now, it's hard to definitively ascertain the report's authenticity, but commentators online are saying the new details demonstrate that "something totally strange did indeed occur."
As for an official explanation of what the report alleges, there is none, with one Pentagon source telling government secrets blog The Black Vault: "We are not able to confirm the authenticity of the document".

Residents in the United States have been reporting some strange underground booms for the past few months, and now, UFO researcher Tyler Glockner has come up with an explanation for the strange phenomenon.
The researcher in a video shared on his YouTube channel 'Secureteam10' said the booms could be due to the secret underground tunneling project under progress.
Tyler Glockner said something really sinister may be happening underground and it could be the handiwork of the elites with the help of government agencies who might be preparing for a nuclear apocalypse. The conspiracy theorist also suggested that these underground tunnels are being made to connect supermarket stores like Walmart so people can survive the doomsday with access to food.
"These massive booms might be linked to an underground tunneling system and your local Walmart store. The theory is that these massive tunnels built underground are all connected to a store. Just think, if something ever did happen, you will have these massive tunnels below the surface which link to these stores that could easily be converted to camps," said Tyler Glockner in the video.
As the video went viral on the Internet, several theories have surfaced to explain the weird booms.
"It is not a wild theory. My local Super-Walmart had construction going on for 2 years on the northwest side of its store. When they were done, nothing changed on the outside or inside of the store. Not even the parking lot changed. There were large storage containers randomly around the construction site that seemed to serve no purpose, other than to hide their work," commented one 'Earl's Daughter' on Youtube.
Some conspiracy theorists believe that these tunnels may have a connection to the secret underground base at the Denver airport so the elites can easily save their lives during the times of an apocalypse. They even claim that there is a secret railway line too, running between the White House and the Denver Airport.
A teen skywatcher claims to have captured a UFO hovering near an RAF base – and is convinced it could be something extraterrestrial.

The town is home to the RAF base which used to investigate UFO sightings and which now houses Headquarters Air Command.
In the video, a white mass can be seen making unusual movements in the sky, leaving wispy trails behind it as it goes.
Mr Budel said: 'I was just sitting in my room at my computer when I saw an extremely bright light out my window falling from the sky.
'I initially thought it was a meteor falling, which is already quite unusual to see, until its motion stopped for a few seconds and went back up.
'I was so in awe that I didn't have time to record it. It then disappeared.'
But when the supposed UFO reappeared, Lucas was ready. 'I went back to my desk and got my phone so when I saw it again I used that to record it,' he said.
'The best way to describe it was like an electrical cloud moving in alternating directions continuously.
'At one point it looked as if red sparks or electricity was flying out of it.
'At another point it seemed like whatever it was lost its power and started falling to the ground before the 'engines' started back up.'
Lucas claims he also witnessed the UFO split in two, becoming two separate bodies of light. 'I'm positive that it was some strange phenomena,' he said.

'Be it ball lightning, military testing or something extraterrestrial. It looked like a vaporising electrical cloud.
'Someone also said it could be an RC plane but from what I saw it didn't seem like that at all.
'I've never seen anything else like this, specifically in my area.'
There are workplace hazards in any laboratory, but the International Space Station offers more than a few unique challenges. Since 2000, the microgravity lab has hosted over 200 people in lower Earth orbit, creating one of the most important environments for scientific research. Yet, the human experience of being onboard the ISS is a study unto itself.
Astronauts who arrive on the ISS expect abnormalities in the body, from deteriorating muscle mass and bone density to elevated blood flow in the head and chest. ISS staff physically train on a daily basis to avoid and offset some of these health risks, but beyond body composition, life onboard the satellite means a lifestyle overhaul.

1. Beware Flattened Eyeballs
Not only do astronauts face deteriorating muscle mass, they tend to develop serious vision issues during their time on the ISS as well. While in orbit, fluid can push on astronauts’ eyeballs, flattening the eye shape and leading to extreme farsightedness. The ISS is stocked with adjustable eyeglasses of varying prescriptions for those whose eyesight devolves while in space.
2. Dust-Filled, Itchy Eyes Are Also a Thing
And if that’s not bad enough, the astronauts frequently have to deal with something in their rapidly flattening eyeballs. Because dust does not fall to the ground but floats around until eventually being filtered out, eye irritation is an ongoing problem for astronauts. Allergy symptoms and feeling “stuffy” is also common, not just from dust by from the shift of blood to the chest and head thanks to the lack of gravity.

3. Pooping Is… a Challenge
NASA’s Peggy Whitson knows a thing or two about pooping on the ISS, seeing as she has spent more time in space — 665 days! — than any other American. Whereas peeing is a relatively straightforward process that uses a funnel and a fan to suction out the urine, pooping is complicated.
According to Whitson, bowel movements need to be directed into a “small target” of a hole on top of a silver can in the $19,000 Russian-made toilet. The poop is then suctioned out through a fan and sealed in a bag that fills up over time. Whitson shared that when the poop bag is filling up and garbage day is still far in the distance, astronauts have had to throw on a pair of rubber gloves and pack the poop down.

While there’s no LaCroix in space, all sorts of unique beverage flavors are available. Whitson also shared with Business Insider that after the astronauts’ urine is suctioned away, it gets stored in a yellow cone on top of the toilet. From there, up to 85 percent of it is recycled into drinkable water, which usually takes about eight days to process. When NASA’s Scott Kelly spent a year in space, he drank roughly 730 liters of his own sweat and urine.
5. Astronauts Can Get Stuck.
This has to be some type of architectural oversight. Astronauts need to push off structures in order to move around the space station, but NASA astronaut Terry Virts once told Reader’s Digest that it’s possible to get stuck in place without any structure to help the astronaut mobilize. Virts shared a memory of scientists getting stuck in the Node 3 module before equipment was mounted to its sides. The room was wider than an arm span, meaning astronauts who found themselves in the middle would be stuck there for 5 to 10 minutes until air currents helped them reach a wall.
6. Sunrises Are Almost Nonstop
It might be difficult to get a little shut-eye when the ISS witnesses 16 sunrises per day. The space station travels about 17,100 miles per hour and can thus complete a full orbit of Earth every 90 minutes. There are 16 sunsets per 24-hour Earth day as well, creating stunning views all day, every day.
With nonstop sunrises and sunsets, it’s clear there are some perks to working in Earth’s lower orbit, as well. So long as astronauts avoid the center of large rooms and have an impeccable aim for the poop chute, it’s not all bad.

If Elon Musk ever has its way, humans could settle Mars as early as 2024. The goal is to move our earthling butts to another planet and finally become an interplanetary species, one less vulnerable to extinction. In the process, however, we might actually be triggering the rapid evolution of a new species that is more adapted to the alien environment — in this case, Mars. That’s what a recent study seems to hint at, listing some of the risks people trying to conceive on Mars might face and discussing some of the ethical implications that arise from it.
Would you raise your kids on Mars?
In many respects, the fourth planet from the sun is pretty Earth-like. However, while it was once home to flowing rivers and oceans of water, today the Red Planet is barren and inhospitable to life, despite our biggest hopes that one day we might find life there or at least some evidence of past life.
Both NASA and the famous SpaceX CEO Elon Musk want to establish a permanent colony on Mars at some point. This means that settlers there will also have to have babies in order to expand the colony. However, with its freezing temperature, thin atmosphere, low gravity, and a slew of other perils, Mars isn’t exactly the nicest place to raise children. Actually, according to a new study published in the journal Futures, it will be quite the ordeal.
“Reproduction on Mars will be necessary for colony survival and subsequent expansion,” the team of researchers wrote the new paper. “Unfortunately, such an endeavor comes with titanic challenges.”
The average temperature on Mars is about -80 degrees Fahrenheit (-60 degrees Celsius), although it can vary from -195 F (-125 C) near the poles during winter to as much as 70 F (20 C) at midday near the equator. The carbon-dioxide-rich atmosphere of Mars is also roughly 100 times less dense than Earth’s on average, but it is nevertheless thick enough to support weather, clouds, and winds. A thin atmosphere means much more radiation from the sun reaches Mars’ surface than on Earth. This increases the risk of developing brain cell damage and various cancers. And concerning reproduction, it will also severely impact sperm count. Some of these radiation effects may be offset if the colony is located deep under the Martian surface — but it’s unclear at this point how safe humans would be in such conditions.
Mars also has a much weaker gravity than on Earth, about a third of we’re used to. This means that there’s far less pressure and stress on the human body, which sounds like good news. The problem is that this sudden change in gravity will impact human health, as previous studies on astronauts stationed to the ISS have shown. Altered vision and increased pressure inside the head are among the physiological changes both men and women experience following space flight. These symptoms have been lumped together by NASA under the ‘visual impairment intracranial pressure syndrome’, or VIIP syndrome for short. Scientists hypothesized that at least one of the causes for VIIP syndrome could be related to the redistribution of body fluid toward the head due to microgravity exposure.
Microgravity also seems to change the brain structure of astronauts. Although Mars has some gravity, it’s conceivable that it could have similar effects on colonists’ health — albeit to a less degree than on the ISS — since it’s much lower than Earth’s. What’s more, babies born on Mars would face huge problems adjusting to Earth, if they ever decide to travel there. For example, one NASA scientist, Al Globus, gives an example of someone who weighs 160 pounds. “If I went to a 3g planet, the equivalent of moving from Mars to Earth, I would weigh almost 500 pounds and would have great difficulty getting out of bed,” Globus told Live Science in 2011.
Some might interject that many of these issues can be solved with technology: We can build better shelters and, at the end of the day, Martian settlers will just have to alter their babies’ genome in order for them to adapt to alien conditions. But this would entail a set of ethical and social challenges the likes of which humans have never before experienced. It could mean that some people would simply not be allowed to have kids, for instance. Also, in a very resource-limited Martian society, very weak or ‘useless’ individuals might have to be discarded for the greater good of the colony.
“The idea to protect life at every stage of development may not be suited to a Mars colony,” the authors wrote. “An inhospitable environment and a small mission crew may result in the elevation of the value of group over the individual.”
“The method of CRISPR makes possible adaptive genetic engineering,” the authors wrote. “We should consider the idea of genetic human enhancement before and during that mission.”
In doing so, however, we might end up creating a new species of humans.
For centuries, ever since the first astronomers turned the first rudimentary telescopes towards Mars, mankind has imagined encountering Martians. Ironically, these fabled Martians might just end up being a new race of Earthlings.

Last month, scientists announced the discovery of thousands of black holes at the heart of our galaxy. Now, you can explore the monster black hole at the core of the Milky Way that's surrounded by that black-hole swarm, thanks to a new virtual tour released by NASA.
The individual black holes are estimated to be five to 30 times the mass of our sun, and all were found within three light-years from the monster black hole, called Sagittarius A*.
"Researchers combed through data from NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory, looking for possible black holes in close orbit with a star," researchers said in a new video posted on the Chandra website. "They found about a dozen strong black-hole candidates within a very short distance of the supermassive black hole at the galactic center. This implies the presence of other undetected stellar-mass black holes. Up to a thousand stellar-mass black holes could be present."
The video zooms in on Sagittarius A*, with suspected locations of other black holes circled in the animation. But there are other possible explanations for the X-ray sources. At least half of the observed X-ray radiation might be from rapidly rotating neutron stars that have strong magnetic fields, according to scientists at the Chandra X-Ray Observatory.
But if the observed sources are indeed black holes, scientists are particularly interested in those that have companion stars. One reason is that the discovery could help scientists better understand gravitational waves, or ripples in space-time caused by interactions between massive objects. The first confirmed detection of gravitational waves was in 2015, and observations continue with the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory and Virgo interferometer collaborations.
A paper based on the new Chandra results was published April 5 in the journal Nature. The work was led by Charles J. Hailey, co-director of the Columbia Astrophysics Laboratory at Columbia University in New York.

Pluto is an uncanny-valley world, with landscapes and vistas that seem strikingly similar to those of Earth — until you take a closer look.
NASA's New Horizons mission, which flew by the dwarf planet in July 2015, found that Pluto has towering mountains, but of water ice rather than rock; vast plains of frozen nitrogen and other exotic materials; and blue skies provided by a wispy atmosphere that contains no appreciable oxygen.
The new discovery "shows us that Pluto's atmosphere and surface are interacting in a way that geologically/geomorphologically alters the surface," said study lead author Matt Telfer, a lecturer in physical geography at the University of Plymouth in England.
"That's exciting not just because it shows (again) the dynamism of these small, cold, dark distant worlds, but also for its inferences for very early solar system bodies," Telfer told Space.com via email.

Telfer and his colleagues analyzed the imagery New Horizons captured during its epic flyby. They noticed a complex of ridges within Sputnik Planitia, a 620-mile-wide (1,000 kilometers) nitrogen-ice plain that forms the left lobe of Pluto's famous "heart."
The ridges ripple in a 47-mile-wide (75 km) sliver on the western edge of Sputnik Planitia, where the plain runs into the 3-mile-high (5 km) Al-Idrisi Montes mountain range. The newly identified features look a lot like wind-sculpted dunes, and that's exactly what they are, according to the study team.
"We're sure," Telfer said. "It's actually the relatively simple stuff, like their location, alignment (undisturbed by glacial movement, unlike the sublimation pits elsewhere), orientation (including the adjacent orthogonal wind streaks), and changes in regional orientation and spacing that nail it. It all makes perfect sense for dunes, and doesn't match what we'd see for sublimation pits."
"Sublimation pits" are spots where sunlight has caused relatively large amounts of icy material to sublime, or transition directly from the solid phase to gas. New Horizons imagery has revealed thousands of such depressions across Sputnik Planitia, and a series of aligned pits was the most viable alternative explanation for the dune features, Telfer and his colleagues wrote in the new study, which was published online today (May 31) in the journal Science.
Sublimation is an important part of the dunes' story, the researchers found. They performed modeling work that suggested Pluto's winds are strong enough to create the Sputnik Planitia dune system — as long as the grains being blown were already airborne. Sublimation is pretty much the only way to make this happen, with the grains being lofted by rising gas, according to the study team.
The wind-blown grains are probably frozen methane that originated in the nearby mountain range, but bits of nitrogen ice are another possibility, the authors wrote.
Dune systems appear to be common throughout the solar system. Such features have been confirmed on Earth, Mars, Venus and Saturn's huge moon Titan, for example, and they may even exist on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, which was studied up close by Europe's Rosetta mission from 2014 through 2016.
Still, finding dunes on Pluto was unexpected, given the dwarf planet's very thin air, experts said.
"What makes this discovery surprising is that the sediment can be mobilized despite Pluto's tenuous atmosphere, with a surface pressure (1 Pa) that is a factor of 100,000 times lower than that on Earth," Alexander Hayes, an assistant professor of astronomy at Cornell University who was not involved in the new study, wrote in an accompanying "Perspectives" piece in the same issue of Science.
Telfer expressed similar sentiments: "It was hard to see how the wind could influence anything, until you do the math."
The new study is far from the final word on Pluto's dunes, stressed Hayes, who also directs Cornell's Spacecraft Planetary Imaging Facility.
"Nature tends to converge toward a set of relatively few forms and generic patterns using a variety of processes," he wrote. "Accordingly, much work is left to do to understand dunes on Pluto. Most notably, it remains to be shown how high the dunes are, when they are most active, whether they change and whether entrainment can occur without lofting."
New Horizons' work is far from done, by the way. The probe is now gearing up for a flyby of a small object called 2014 MU69, which lies about 1 billion miles (1.6 billion km) beyond Pluto. That close encounter, which will occur on Jan. 1, 2019, is the centerpiece of New Horizons' extended mission.

In the mountains of Chile sits the site of what will become the largest optical telescope in the world. The Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) will have a primary mirror made up of almost 800 individual segments and will be capable of collecting more light than all of the existing 8-to-10-meter telescopes on the planet, combined.
Originally dubbed the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT), the name of the ELT was changed in 2017. Its new moniker, the Extremely Large Telescope, reflects the growing number of the European Southern Observatory (ESO)'s international partners and the instrument's location in Chile.
"The ELT will produce discoveries that we simply cannot imagine today, and it will inspire people around the world to think about science, technology and our place in the universe," Tim de Zeeuw, ESO's Director General, said in a statement.
Planning and execution
Telescopes are made up of primary and secondary mirrors. Until the last few decades, these mirrors were made up of a single rigid piece of glass. The largest single-pane, or monolithic, mirrors currently in use can be found on the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT), each with a diameter of 27.5 feet (8.4 meters).
But technology limits how large a monolithic mirror can be made, and the LBT skirts it. Building even larger mirrors requires using segments that work together as a unit to collect light. The Keck telescopes in Hawaii and the James Webb Space Telescope are two examples of telescopes using segmented mirrors.
The ELT will consist of a 128-foot (39 m) main mirror made up of 798 individual hexagon segments. Each segment will measure 4.6 feet (1.4 m) across, with a thickness of 2 inches (5 centimeters). Together, the segments will collect tens of millions of times as much light as the human eye.
Early designs of the ELT included a segmented primary mirror of 140 feet (42 meters) and a secondary mirror 19 feet (5.9 m) across. In 2011, the ESO decided to reduce the size to a 130–foot (39.3 m) primary and a 14–foot (4.2 m) secondary, reducing the cost and allowing the telescope to be finished sooner.
"As much as we astronomers always aim for ever bigger telescopes, the core purpose of such a revolutionary project as the ELT is to find the right balance between scientific capability and cost efficiency. ESO has always managed to lead ground-based astronomy and built front-line telescopes thanks to this approach," de Zeeuw said. "With the new ELT design we can still satisfy the bold science goals and also ensure that the construction can be completed in only 10 to 11 years. This will allow the ELT to operate simultaneously with the James Webb Space Telescope."
The ELT will sit in the Cerro Armazones, Chile, where high altitudes and low humidity make it a choice site for telescopes. The site was selected in 2010, and in 2011 the Chilean government donated land for the instrument, while committing to keep an additional 140 square miles (362 square kilometers) free of buildings that could interfere with the telescope's observations.
"Chile has the clearest skies on Earth and hosts the most important centers for astronomical observation," Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs Alfredo Moreno said in a statement. "It is part of our assets and also part of our contribution to humanity."
In 2015, the first instruments were approved for the massive telescope. They include a near-infrared imager, an adaptive optics unit, an integral field spectrograph, and a mid-infrared imager and spectrograph.
The first-stone ceremony for the telescope occurred in 2017. In addition to kicking off the construction of the ELT, the ceremony also included the sealing of a time capsule prepared by ESO.

In 2018, the first six hexagonal segments for the ELT's main mirror were successfully cast in Germany. More than 900 segments will ultimately be cast — 798 for the main mirror, plus a spare set of 133. When fully up to speed, the production rate will be about one segment per day.
"It was a wonderful feeling to see the first segments being successfully cast," Marc Cayrel, an engineer at ESO, said in a statement. "This is a major milestone for the ELT!"
First light is targeted for 2024.

The science of the ELT
The massive segmented primary mirror of the ELT will allow it to perform groundbreaking science, scoping out extrasolar planets, shining light on other galaxies, and improving the understanding of the fundamental laws of physics.
One of the most intriguing and exciting aspects of the ELT science program will be the discovery and characterization of planets and protoplanetary systems around other stars. The ELT should be able to discover worlds down to Earth-like masses, as well as directly image larger planets and potentially characterize their atmospheres. It will observe giant planets around young stars and in star-forming regions, tracing their evolution over time.
The ELT "will answer fundamental questions regarding planet formation and evolution, the planetary environment of other stars, and the uniqueness (or otherwise) of the solar system and Earth," the ESO says on their site.
The ELT will also be able to peer into the heart of galaxies to count their stars. Currently, astronomers can only resolve individual stars in our own galaxy and its nearest neighbors, none of which are elliptical galaxies.
"A galaxy's stellar populations carry a memory of its entire star formation history, and decoding this information offers detailed insights into the galaxy's past," the ESO says.
The ELT will be able to precisely resolve the stellar populations of more distant galaxies, including the giant elliptical galaxies of the Virgo cluster, providing detailed information about star formation, metal enrichment, and the movement history of nearby galaxies.
The ELT will also be able to look at more distant galaxies, surveying hundreds of massive galaxies at their most distant. By providing scientists with information about their ages, stellar masses, star formation rates, metallicities, and more, the ELT will lead towards a better understanding of galaxy formation. The telescope will also push back to the end of the "dark ages," when galaxies were first beginning to form after the Big Bang, to identify some of the first galaxies and their properties.
The massive instrument will also help to shine some light on the expanding universe. By helping scientists discover and identify distant types of supernovae, the standard candles of the universe, the ELT will help map out the universe and the history of its expansion. It will also provide insight into dark energy.
"The ELT will also attempt, for the first time, to constrain dark energy by directly observing the global dynamics of the universe," the ESO says. "This measurement will offer a truly independent and unique approach to the exploration of the expansion history of the universe."
The next generation telescopes
"Extremely Large Telescopes are considered worldwide as one of the highest priorities in ground-based astronomy," the ESO says on its website. "They will vastly advance astrophysical knowledge, allowing detailed studies of subjects including planets around other stars, the first objects in the Universe, super-massive black holes, and the nature and distribution of the dark matter and dark energy which dominate the Universe."
The ELT is not the only ELT being built. The Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) was set for construction on Mauna Kea, Hawaii, until problems arose with its construction permit in 2015. Currently, the TMT is on hold, with its organizers considering an alternate location in La Palma in the Canary Islands.
Another ELT under construction is the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT), which is also being built in Chile. GMT will combine seven 8.4-meter mirrors to create an effective aperture of 24.5 meters. The telescope is expected to begin operations by 2025.
On 8 July 1947 the Roswell Daily Record newspaper published a front page article with the headline "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region", and the legend of America's most famous brush with aliens was born.
Today, many conspiracy theorists consider the so-called "Roswell incident" to be one of the most conspicuous pieces of evidence that the US government has covered up the existence of extra-terrestrial life on Earth. But the Roswell story's position in the public imagination was far from immediate.
What was the Roswell incident?
On 7 July 1947, around 75 miles north of the town of Roswell in New Mexico, debris from a highly classified project used by the US Army Air Force (the precursor to the US Air Force) to detect atomic bomb tests in the Soviet Union, was recovered from a ranch after being reported by ranch worker William Brazel.
Intrigued by the idea of flying saucers, Brazel gathered some of the debris and went to Roswell where he told Sheriff George Wilcox about his find. According to reports he "whispered kinda confidential like". Wilcox immediately reported the encounter to the USAAF base at Roswell which promptly sent agents to visit the ranch, but not before the press picked up the story.
What was reported at the time?
On 8 July 1947 Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) issued a press release stating that a "flying disk" had crashed on a ranch near Roswell during a powerful storm. Later in the day, as government scientists arrived in the area, the story appeared to change. A press conference was held and it was stated instead that a weather balloon had crashed. Reporters were shown debris said to be taken from the crash area, such as foil, rubber and wood, which appeared to confirm that the object had been a weather balloon.
After initially suggesting that Brazel's debris had come from a UFO, the Roswell Daily Record reported a correction which included the USAAF statement that it was a weather balloon that had been found at the site. Brazel later went on record to say that he regretted the publicity that his misidentification had caused.
According to the official accounts, the debris Brazel found came from a balloon which was part of an experimental technology trial codenamed Project Mogul.
What was Project Mogul?
The classified Project Mogul was designed to detect sound waves in the upper atmosphere from Soviet atom bomb tests by flying microphones on trains of balloons at high altitude. Although the technology was quickly superseded, it remained secret for more than 20 years after the event. The fact that the balloon was involved in Cold War surveillance of the Soviet Union may have helped to propel rumours of a cover-up.
How did it become a cause celebre?
For 31 years the story was largely forgotten until The National Enquirer reported the original Roswell Daily Record story again, but not the correction. Following the publication of the new story, theories suggesting that the government's incomplete account had been an attempt to cover the discovery of an alien spacecraft began to take root.
What did other witnesses say?
Several people claimed to have seen debris scattered over a wide area and at least one person reported seeing a blazing aircraft in the sky shortly before it crashed, but the key account came from a former mortician, Glenn Dennis, who claimed in 1989 that a friend who worked as a nurse at the Roswell Army Air Field had accidentally walked into an examination room where doctors were bent over the bodies of three creatures. They apparently resembled humans, but with small bodies, spindly arms and giant bald heads.
In 1995, Ray Santilli, a London-based entrepreneur, released "footage" of an alien autopsy performed in Roswell in 1947. Experts immediately ridiculed the footage as a hoax and he admitted years later that it was almost entirely fake. Nevertheless, Santilli insisted real footage existed, but due to its poor condition he had been forced to recreate it.
Critics have questioned the validity of various witnesses and pointed out that many claims over the years have come from "friends of friends" who supposedly saw something out of the ordinary.
Stranger than fiction?
Coincidentally, the republication of the story came just one year after the release of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a film about a government conspiracy covering up alien visits to Earth. The film was released in the USA in November and the following year in the UK. That year 750 sightings were officially documented in the UK by the Ministry of Defence UFO desk, the highest figure on record.
Did UFO sightings continue to increase
Looking at UFO sightings data from both sides of the Atlantic, a direct correlation between popular films involving aliens and real world UFO sightings becomes evident. In 2009, The Guardian detailed the popular culture influences that may have helped propel UFO sightings in the UK in 1996. In the year that Independence Day and Mars Attacks were released there were 609 UFO sightings across the UK, significantly more than the years just before or after.
